The best thing I like about Dawett is their Butter Chicken. It s a fine dine, prefer booking a spot as they usually busy.

We used to love Dawett. Butter chicken, naan, and rice are our go-to order fairly simple. While we ve had a poor experience ordering from Dawett in the past, we let it slide, assuming they were busy. Unfortunately, tonight has changed our view entirely. We ordered the same meal for the first time in a few months, planning for it to arrive just as our kids were starting dinner. We were told it would take 45 minutes to an hour. Instead, it arrived an hour and a half later. We paid a little over $50 for 4 naan, one butter chicken, and one rice. Oof inflation is rough, but we don t like to complain. However, when we started eating, things quickly went downhill. The butter chicken was cold, likely due to the delay, but what really stood out was the taste it just wasn t right. At first, we thought our palates had changed, but after a few bites, we realized it was the chicken itself. It was gristly, and, frankly, unpleasant. We couldnt tell if the chicken was gamey or gone bad. We love butter chicken, but this wasn t it. Now we re sitting here at 7:30 PM with a cold, unappetizing meal. After this experience, we ve decided this will likely be our last time ordering from Dawett. To be fair, we did call to share our concerns, and they kindly offered to remake the butter chicken. However, given how late it was and our disappointing experience, we decided not to take them up on the offer. This review isn t meant to disparage Dawett, as I m sure their in-house dining is great. But as a heads-up to others, you might want to dine in rather than order takeout.

Dawett has been a family dinner favorite for QUITE some time. My parents have moved to Alberta, but whenever theyre in Kelowna its a safe bet theyre going to want to go, and in this case it was for my Moms birthday. When asked, Where would you like to go for dinner? it took about ten seconds to answer, Dawett. My Dad may have cheered.

Best Indian food in town. 6 for spice level is enough to mess you up but still enjoy the flavours. Highly recommend the lamb dishes (vindaloo and korma in particular).

What great family food! We love when our family business is crazy and we can just call them up for delivery of a warm family cooked meal. We like how everyone can find their favourite flavour and get the spice to their personal level and everyone is happy.

The food is really good and the staff is really nice. The kids especially enjoyed the feeling of being filled with good food. Vegetarian options: We really enjoyed the vegetation meal for two which was a delicious meal of several flavours. Kid-friendliness: The staff was really kind with our children and made sure they what they needed. Having said that this is a nice scale restaurant, the other patrons are here for a classy meal out with close friends.

We have tried chole bhture and dahi bhalle today , it was best so far. The quantity and quality was good . The prices for their lunch specials are so good . Service was bit slow but the taste of our dishes made us forget that service was slow.

Very aggressive staff , i asked front desk lady about the pickup order , but she did not listen me properly and ignored me and did not respond well . And i waited 15-17 minutes for single order . They should respect customers .

The worst experience in any Indian restaurant in Kelowna. The chicken tikka was unchewable as if they get the worst quality of chicken. The server was very unwelcoming and don t offer any water in the beginning. It seems their chef and servers are very unhappy with the owner. Food

Hands down some of the best Indian food my husband and I have ever had. We also have a flat in London (UK) and frequent Indian take away restaurants there and this is up there.

My sister and I went in for dinner and loved everything about the place the moment we entered. We were greeted so nicely and food was AMAZZINGGG!!!. We had chicken biryani and eggplant bartha and everything tasted so good . Also a huge shout out to our server Mandeep for being so patient and graceful. The service was top notch. My husband and I came to eat here for dinner. We were quite impressed as we walked in. Although the atmosphere and decor was beautiful the table clothes were very filthy. We let our server know about the table clothes and asked to move tables only to be sat at another table with the same dirty table cloth. We only had appetizers and it was nothing special. Not sure about their other food , but according to our experience and the food we tasted I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

Very bad experience with the food, I ordered saag prawns, lamb tikka and chicken Biryani. In saag prawns, only the boiled prawns are added to saag and served no flavours or taste to prawns it is just like eating boiled prawns. Lamb tikka has no spice and taste and it is very hard to eat looks like not cooked properly. Very disappointed to order here after a long travel from Vancouver. Biryani is tasteless and it is not even served with Raita or Salon

Terrible service, charged more than we pay, dont recommend

We reached by 10.20 pm and they refused to serve when most of the people were already sitting and giving orders. I don t understand why you guys are open until 10.40 pm if you don t want people to enter at 10.20 and refuse to serve them, specially on weekends. Highly disappointed. Never going to return.

The food was terrible. 3 of us ordered chicken tikka masala and the chicken was terrible. Hard and stringy. We were the only table dining and waited around 40 minutes for them to figure out our bill. No atmosphere either. Overall terrible experience. Save your money.

I heard a lot from my hotel manager about the restaurant that its really good! But once I went out to the place it was terrible experience with the food , it was so slowly served and the quantity is too too less for 15 bucks of butter chicken there were hardly 3 pcs i could see and it was so so sweet that i was literally eating sugar in the gravy and bhuna chicken was just full of onions and there was no chicken at all (hardly 2 pcs i could say) i would be never ever going there again! Thanks, really sorry for this kind of review, but spending 130 bucks for dinner, it means to me!

Absolutely lovely Indian food, best Indian restaurant in town Id say. They have always been able to seat us as walk ins (2-4 people). Love their veggie options, particularly their veggie korma. Their coconut nan bread is delicious. Vegetarian options: Lots of great veggie options! Parking: Lost of street parking right outside, multistorey carpark across the road.

I gave only 2 stars for food as food was overly salty and not of restaurant quality. I felt it was heated in microwave and malai kofta was not good either which I barely touched. Other dish I tried was malai paneer which was overly salty and heated in microwave. That is why I gave 2 stars.

The food was delicious, especially the paneer makhni. The service is on point, waiters are very nice and always there if you need anything. I strongly recommend this restaurant for good authentic Indian food!

Great experience for my mother s 75th! The food was excellent with the right level of heat. It was a group of 12, but it did take 5+ minutes between the first plate and the last, but it was also busy. The prices were also pretty affordable.

I recently dined at this restaurant and had a delightful dinner experience. The food was delicious, and Travis, our server, was exceptionally sweet and attentive. However, there was a lady at the counter who lacked proper etiquette and manners when interacting with both customers and servers. Despite Traviss professionalism, she seemed to criticize him rudely. It would benefit the restaurant to find someone more suitable for her position. Overall, great food and service from Travis, but room for improvement in staff professionalism.

Been coming here for years and years, one of kelownas hidden gems! Always worth coming here for any occasion cheap lunch menu or date night experience. Have been and will continue to recommenced this place to others!

Tried this restaurant for the first time, I was impressed with the service and overall quality of the meal. Their new patio provides a nice atmosphere and is nice for dining out with friends and family. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and the new patio.

Tonight my friend and I really wanted to sit and enjoy some good comfort food together. We ordered a few different dishes for takeout so we could sit, share and laugh at home. OUR MEAL WAS SO INCREDIBLE that we mostly talked about the food! We could taste the love and care infused in the food. It was very special. Very delicious. We will be back over and over again. MUST READ BEFORE VISITING Food: This place serves the most disgusting excuse for food I ve ever tasted. It s bland, dry, and nothing like authentic Indian cuisine. Do yourself a favor and go to Ustaad ji76 or New Punjab instead. Customer service: We ordered Paneer tikka, which was not authentic and asked for a slice of lemon to enhance the taste. Nobody bothered to bring them or check on us. Server responded humorously rude and snappy, while billing when got notified about this. They didn t even give us forks to eat Paneer tikka. Worst service ever. No serving etiquettes at all. Highly Disappointed Definitely, We are not going there again.

Pros: Food was really really amazing. The portion sizes were really good. Ambience of the restaurant was pretty good. Cons: The service was horrible. We went for lunch around 3pm but the food was delivered around 4:30 pm. It was a 1.5 hr wait and when we raised it to the manager there, he kept denying it, and eventually agreed to give a 10% discount. But there were many of us and only few of us got the discount.

Ordered a bunch of food and it was all fantastic! Truly a great place to dine. If I lived closer Id be there every day.

Major rave to Dawett fine indian restaurant last night. I m celebrating our special anniversary. We chose this restaurant for a couple of reasons. 1. Wanted to eat indian but not eat at the same place we always eat at. 2. We didn t want to order in it s just not the same experience 3. Change of scenery 4. New experiences 5. Pallet sensations Ok so we get to the spot and our table is ready for our reservation arrival, (we called ahead to book as we were unsure if there was space bring it out first time). The atmosphere was perfect dark maroon space with authentic indian pictures on the walls soft indian music in the background and booths for everyone. Keeping your space as private and secluded from other guests. First on the menu we had to try the chicken wings from hell. We love spice so this was a must. We also ordered 2 king fishers just in case. The flavours in the wings were so amazing and super flavourful left us coming back for more. Not spicy for us but super awesome flavours that impacted both our palettes And highly highly recommend. Our main course was even better we decided to order eggplant bartha it s one of my absolute favourites and most places I ve been to does not do it like India . That dish was a hit. One reason being the presentation. Coming out in a dish with the candle below keeping it warm through out the dinner was amazing. These little thoughts of how to serve customers and give them an experience is exactly what this did for us. Amazing job. I ordered the lamb combo with the perfect balance of rice, salad, raita, and naan bread. My lamb was cooked beautifully Abs the tastes were on par. My hubby ordered the seafood combo and it was so tasty every bite left you coming back for more. Our waitress Jasleen was not only incredible she was outstanding. Greeted us like we meant something to her. Her smile was infectious, she paid attention to all the details. She never skipped a beat. She was friendly and honestly such a beautiful soul to interact with. She made our time Anna special day feel awesome. So thank you to the entire staff And team at Daweet s tonight for making my husband and I feel awesome. We definitely will be back and can t wait to try more dishes in the menu. We had a dine in yesterday at this restaurant and man the food tasted so ordinary and few of the items infact were so bad . the service though was really great i mean yeah they took a lot of time bringing our food but they girl who served us wqs really polite cute and had a smile on her face throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the butter chicken and I recommend people to try this dish. Kid-friendliness: They have drinks such as ice tea for children who like to enjoy drinks which combine usual ice tea with a hint of new experiences.

Exceptional, flavourful and a feast for the eyes as well. Friendly service too! The veggie pakora and mussels were highlights, highly recommended! Vegetarian options: The veggie korma was top shelf too!

Could have given a choice for takeout when I came at 9 pm thinking that I will have food at this restaurant .I came especially from different town just to eat at your restaurant.

great food and service, competitive pricing

The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable. Alcohol prices are great. Server was very sweet. But there was so little meat in the dishes that you couldn t possibly share entrees as there was hardly enough for one person. Charge more if you have to.

The food is good but you need to wait around 45 minutes

Been here a couple times last year and service was not great but this year I came for diwali and the waitress was so kind and lovely it made up for the past experiences. The food is always great, love everything I ve tried so far. My usuals are the biriyani or the tandoori but the mango chicken is also really tasty. Totally recommend.

The food is amazing. The service wasnt horrible just painfully slow. Very friendly and inviting but just getting refill on water had to be asked twice. Food does take its sweet time to come out but if it is legitimately fresh cooked then its understandable,and it tasted fresh! We will definitely eat here again!

12 dollars for 10 fish pakoras and they are not even that tasty

Fantastic food and really great service. Mandeep was especially wonderful.
