No longer interested

Low energy entrance, didnt feel welcome. Ordered spicy dosa, they forgot to add the spicy part in it. Were served sambhar, forgot to add any masalas in it. Everything felt tasteless and sambhar was all watery. On the flip side, mix fruit crepe was good. Also, felt as if the server had to do a favor serving us. Less than average experience. Hope anybody else visiting have a better one.

Best Dosa place in Kelowna

The Dosa is average but the prices are very high even though the cost of Dosa making is much lower. In Ontario the Dosa prices are 6 to 7 dollars......the owner should reconsider the menu pricing.

We were served burnt Vada, very bad in test. The place is highly overpriced.

I had come for a vacation from vancouver to kelowna and could not find any good south asian food in the town. Someone recommended me to visit dosa crepe cafe and I was questioning on how the food would be. I was impressed by how great the south indian food was. The food was delicious and the staff working there were very respectful as well. I would like to mention rajvir and harman who had great patience while taking the order and making the food. I was amazed by how great the food was. I would highly recommend everyone who comes to kelowna to visit this place for the best indian food

Employees do not wear gloves when handling food at this location. Touching their cell phones then sprinkling ingredients on crepes, restaurant interior was sticky to the touch. Bad experience here.

We tried different lunch menu options. The food was fine in taste but nothing great about it. The dosa was good but we didn t like the idli as they were too big and dry. The service was good. But we did not like the ambience as they had kept lot of supplies in one area. They need to clean up the restaurant a bit to give a feel of nice restaurant.

I am not sure how they got this much rating. We did not like it.. Dosa was too sour, sambar was just like a boiled dhal water and very unhygienic. Terrible experience. South Indians please dont go there like we did, thinking you can get some good dosa.

I give negative rating for this over hyped and over priced place. I ordered ghee masala dosa. The masala was smelling bad as if it was been kept from a long time. The chutney was disgusting in taste and no way near to the actual chutney we get. I strongly dont recommend this place because they are spoiling the name of dosa by serving stale food which is far from being called dosa. The price is very high compared to the quality they are serving. I deeply regret wasting my money and would strongly advice others not to make this mistake. Negative ratings for this place.

I dont even wish to give 1 star. This place is just pathetic. The food stinks and the staff doesnt maintain any hygiene. I come from south part of India, this place is over priced with low quality food. Please dont go here its waste of time and money.

I just bought idlies for dinner from this location and my god, it was sooo badd!!!! Hard, saltless and stonelike!!! The downtown location is great, have eaten there quite a lot of times. Whoever manages downtown location should take this one over! Such bad bad bad food But the employee at the counter was very sweet and Kind, so a star for her.

I recently visited Dosa Crepe in Kelowna with a group of six friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We ordered six beef and chicken biryanis, but the meat and rice had a noticeably bad smell. When we raised our concern with the waitress, she insisted that the meat was fresh and prepared the same day. However, upon speaking with another lady who identified herself as the manager, we were shocked to hear her admit that the meat was actually old. This kind of inconsistency and lack of honesty from the staff is unacceptable. The managers response was not only unprofessional but also disappointing, as it failed to address our concerns adequately. Overall, our visit to Dosa Crepe was extremely disappointing, and we will not be returning. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements to ensure better quality and customer service in the future.

The most disgusting food, the Biryani we ordered was so bad and old. When we confronted them, they agreed and said sorry. We wasted 20 mins over there. (Honestly, this a food safety issue)

One of the best kept secrets in Kelowna. The food is amazing, well priced, with lovely staff. And, as a celiac, I have eaten there countless times over the years with no reaction. Find your new favorite place to grab a healthy, casual meal. My fave is the spicy spinach and paneer masala dosa with a South Indian milk coffee with black sugar tapioca. Mmmm

They dont even deserve to get one star, but unfortunately for the sake of posting a review, I have to do it. We ordered beef biriyanis and all of those were spoiled and tasted awful. We found it on the first bite and reported it right away to the staffs and they accepted that its spoiled. It was a worst experience coming here and we all still regret it. Its still a wonder for us that how they got the guts to serve spoiled food. Not sure how they got an overall rating of above 4 stars. Never coming back here in my lifetime and I really wish everyone reading this review would stay out of this nasty restaurant. I know these peeps will comment to this review I posted that they reviewed the experience and blah blah blah.. Trust me guys and pls dont ruin your day coming here.

Visited this location and I believe it was the best decision i made to have Idli sambar and dosa at this particular location. The customer service was commendable!! The lady who helped us is very sweet and has best recommendations. Great Job! Talking about the food, onion rava dosa was so delicious, fresh nd crispy as compared to the downtown location. A little more flavour is required in Sambar, rest all is good. The sweet and salt lassi was great! Definitely going back here Very soon!

The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Spicy paneer masala dosa and Chennai cold coffee. Hands down, some of the best South Indian food I ve had recently in Canada. The customer service was outstanding, and the product was exactly what I was looking for. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and customer service I received in both the restaurants in Kelowna.

Overall, this was an incredible dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all top-notch. Spicy Onion Rava Masala Dosa was finger licking and Mango Lassi was outstanding I will be back!

Rasam and rava dosa are best in the menu , I love rasam there so good.

First, the food is always great. BUT DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. CALL THE RESTAURANT. The new website is difficult to navigate and has many glitches, especially the billing. (1) There was no option for a pickup time, so one assumes that means as soon as its ready? But, when I arrived the order wasnt ready and the pick-up time was set for 1 hour from the time the order was placed. (2) The Spicy Beef T.N. Dosa is already $1 more than the regular, but a $1 upcharge is added if the spicy option is selected. (3) Whats worst is that my credit card was billed in USD. Our 2 dosas for $38.30 has become $51.62. The nice young lady working the counter called the owner for help ... but the only solution I was given was to call my bank to sort it out with them. Thats just poor service and an unacceptable response. I apologize for the poor review, but its deserved.

Edit for the owners response: If just me and my friend got sick then something must have been done to our 2 meals only which is way worse. My friend and I ate here.... We both got sick with food poisoning at the same time afterwards. The server kept giving dirty looks to my friend everytime she came to our table. The restaurant isnt very clean and I wouldnt eat here again.

South Indian taste in Okanagan valley

Just ate there with my family. Food was good, service was also good. Lots of options. We had a plain dosa and one with butter chicken, we also had chicken bites and chicken Biryani. Everything was good, I would go again to try some other options.

I don t know what happened. But since the day they have opened the downtown location, the Rutland location has been degraded so much. Worst experience ever. The food was bland. Samabar was watery and taste less so was the chicken coconut curry. There was not even a hint of coconut in the curry. I won t recommend the place anymore. Not worth the money. Maybe the downtown location but not the Rutland one.

Great south indian food with a punch of spice. Loved there dosadilla and dosa pizza. Great food for great price. Kids loved their dosa, sambhar and chutney. Service is really bad.

I m still recovering from ordering this from Rutland for delivery 2 days ago. The vegetarian dosa was horrible and the lentil donuts in soup were soggy and inedible. Most of the food went in the garbage but I managed to eat enough of the food that I had a near hospitalization from severe food poisoning.

We ordered masala dosa and paneer dosa; the dosa was hot and crispy. The paneer dosa however i would not suggest because its filling was not good but the masala dosa is a must. The filling is nice and spicy and compliments well with the sambar and chutney. I would recommend masala dosa for sure.

I have been to many great restaurants in my lifetime, but every time I go here, this place always tops the list. This restaurant displays the beauty and the divinity of South Indian food. The staff treat you like family and they will go the extra mile to suit your needs. The second I stepped in and felt the atmosphere, I knew this was definitely a place I would come often. I am so thankful for a restaurant like this to be able to offer the chance for people to experience South Indian food and culture. This place is really underrated and so many more people need to know about this amazing place.

I am not from Kelowna but everytime I visit Kelowna, I go to Dosa Crepe Cafe for lunch/dinner. This is so far best authentic restaurant that offers Dosa. Love it. Their customer service is also top notch.

The five stars is only for their chicken curry and coconut lamb curry, those were delectable, everything else was kind of mid. The staff were nice but it sucked that I couldn t order dine in ahead of time. Still 5 stars tho great food for about $12 a meal.

Vadas are batch cooked and reheated before serving. Nowhere close to what an actual vada is supposed to be like. All the chutneys were extremely disappointing. Dosas were okay, but the potato filling was also uninspired.

I would give a 0 star if I could but unfortunately that isnt possible. The paneer spinach dosa, it is literally just raw baby spinach and then served with shredded paneer, and dont even start with the sambar, it was straight up Rajasthani daal. I have been here a few times and i believe the cooks have recently changed as the good food existed a while back and now its just a waste of money. Will not be coming back, and for sure i DO NOT recommend this restaurant.

I ordered food worth $75 from here. The food was so bad. Chicken chilli was looking so messy and tasted way too sweet. Biryani rice tasted just so blank as if its was just a plain boiled rice not a biryani rice. Over all quantity was so less for the price. Leave the quantity there wasnt even a taste!!

The food is delicious but the most I liked was the lady who served us. Less words, but thoughtful and sincere desire to give a legendary experience. Cant believe to get such a great filter cofee at Kelowna. This is our second this year driving from Vancouver.

My experience has been fantastic! Honestly, I have gone back for the same dish cause its delicious and all its sauces are so flavourful and complementive to each other. I would highly recommend the Butter Chicken Masala Dosa (something along this name). Use your hands to break side pieces of the crepes to dip into the sauces. Nice

Worst experience ever. Having grown up eating dosas and reading the amazing reviews here. Visited the place only to be very very disappointed. The masala dosa hardly had any potato filling. it was merely spread in a super thin layer. the paneer dosa also had very less paneer. we were amazed at how we were served only what the name implies-- plain thin empty crepes and not dosa!!

This place is a jem. The food is consistantly great as is the service. The value is undeniable.

We love Dosas and were so excited to see this place open. Sadly, The lack of stuffing in their Dosas won t be bringing us back. The paneer is grated in which I understand but common! You can at least fill it up especially if I was willing to pay the extra charge for more filling. Also caused all of us heartburn.

Found human hair in 3 different dishes .2 in 2 different dosa and 1 in the salad they serve. Very unhygienic . When we informed the server we just got an apology and ofcourse we still got charged. We had a bad experience . We were out of towners and were really looking forward to our meal after such good review but very disappointing. We ate at the branch downtown. So whoever is reading this before visiting please check your food before eating.

If youve never had a dosa, you should go try one now. Thats assuming you like Indian foods and Curry. A dosa could be considered an Indian crepe, loaded with curry and sauce. Theyre best eaten fresh and hot while theyre still a little bit crispy. But if youre quick to get home, theyre good on take out too. All of their dosas are made fresh to order and all of their curries are made in house and are delicious. I highly recommend the spicy butter chicken dosa and add the masala..

So disrespectful staff. Don t even know how to treat the customers. It was not first time that we had experienced that type of customer service from this restaurant, it s been twice now. For sure never want to visit this restaurant again. Though the food is delicious but the type of customer service they give, won t let me go there again.

We had wonderful service and delicious Masala, paneer and spinach dosas with a delicious french-style dosa dessert crepe with banana and chocolate. We loved the meal from beginning to end. Very fresh. Very friendly service. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

I absolutely love love love the food here!! So fun and delicious. If I may make a suggestion, I think you guys would do better if you made the menu look smaller (for example, instead of listing all the exact same dosas as spicy options, Just write plain or spicy dosa at the top or bottom) Also, I think the outside of the store saying soup and sandwiches, lattes etc. is confusing when people come in and get Indian food. I would put The fun way to eat Indian food! :)

It was the best dosa i ever had in Canada. We travelled from Alberta and found this place randomly. The service was above and beyond the expectations. The food quality was amazing and was served really fast. The taste was authentic. And I its iced Mocha is worth trying.

I would like to mention the name of the girl who really gave me an excellent customer service. She told me she was new there but she is really doing an excellent job. Her service made me to ask her name so that I can mention in this review.Her name is Navdeep. I was there last week on Saturday. She greeted me right away and got me some water. She suggested me paneer masala dosa which was good. I must say the way Navdeep served me was really exceptional. I was never given such a service anywhere.Thanks for your kindness Navdeep.

Ultimate food..

AMAZING!!! I dont capitalize often but sooo delicious! My friend who is vegetarian introduced me to them. The vegetarian without potato is incredible! Must add cheese! Great price and love the soup salad and dipping sauce!

Some of the best dosas I have eaten. The onion rawa, butter chicken, vegetable, spicy beef dosas were simply superb. Loved the coffee as well.

Dosa without a taste, their red chutney is just a salsa from superstore in which they added some rai in it. Sambhar was just a regular daal with rai in it. Thats whats why there were all gora people eating who doesnt know how Dosa suppose to taste. And the service wasnt impressive at all.

The food says it all. Authentic (according to my south indian husband) south indian breakfast food that tastes amazing any time of day. The plain dosa and idli alone is worth going for but they offer a variety of variations as well and spicy options. Gluten-free, vegan friendly options are perfect because I have family members with both. The prices and quality of the food are the main sellers for this place. The owners are outstanding in terms of customer service, other servers I have found a little timid and shy, but still wouldnt hesitate to reccomend this place to anyone who is interested in an affordable quality meal, snack, treat, coffee, whatever! You can find an option for almost any mood here and even people who arent a fan of indian cuisine will find something to love. Highly recommend and definitely one of my top five favourite places in town for years now.

Best place to go for South Indian cuisine.

I drove 2 hours to Kelowna to buy groceries and was recommended to go to Dosa. I did a take out of dosa and chicken coconut curry. I drove half way home and decided to picnic with my take out . To my disappointment there was no dosa but rice. I was upset and turned back to find out what happened to my dosa. The owner made me a dosa and even refunded some of my money. Thank you and the food was good.

Came here a year ago and had a great dosa. Got it this year and was like they threw unseasoned mashed potatoes on sloppy bread. Biryani was mid at most.

As a South Indian Maliyali this food tasted very authentic. My friends and I enjoyed the Dosa, it was delicious and a wonderfully large portion size! The Sambar and Chutni were bussin!

Being a South Indian went there for some authentic South Indian food. There was nothing authentic about it and food was bland. A good way to trick people who have no idea what South Indian food is. Dal for Sambhar, salsa for tomato chutney, not even sure what was in the coconut chutney. Turned kothuparata into Kothuroti that was almost sweet. Veg biryani with broccoli and peas.Dosa served with Cabbage salad and tamarind ?? Authentic, right to the t. If you miss Tamil fast food, this is the place to go. The sambhar is so legit here, it s so rare to find such a gem in the bc interiors. Will definitely visit again when i drive to Kelowna

Combination of poor service and average food. Just had 3 other tables ( who were already eating ) but it took the server more than 20 minutes to take the order. Proof of vaccination was checked after we were already seated but didn t had a scanner ( mobile app) to scan it. Have had good experiences at this restaurant before but it was disappointing this time.

Worst south Indian food as this restaurant is untidy. They add additional water in sambhar and chutney thinking that people likes whatever they give. If you comment that I am not your customer I can also add a picture of your dirty food showing from within restaurant

I had Dosa for the first time here yesterday. What a great dish. Good service in a safe, clean place.

Best breakfast in town- no competition Crepes are consistent, never too soft or too crunchy and the fruit is either wild picked in the summer and frozen for year round use, or else they have an amazing source for their fresh fruit year- round. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about menu items and allergy restrictions. Delicious gluten free and vegan options, wheelchair accessible as well well spaced to allow privacy between seatings. The chef is passionate about his work and it shows throughout the entire restaurant. Well done, and thank you!!!

Staff was super friendly and the food was so delicious. The dosa is really big and quite filling, especially if you get the rava dosa.
