I am from Vancouver, we came to Kelowna to visit, we were looking for an Indian Restaurant to try out and we went with it, this is possibly the best food I have tried out, paneer masala paired with garlic naan and raita tasted amazing, the staff were also super friendly and the service was fast and on point, will definetely recommend this restaurant and will sure come back here again!!!

Honestly I was about to order take out online, and I bailed out because they automatically charge a tip without the option to either change or remove the tip. I have no problem tipping, when its consensual and commensurate with the service provided. But to be forced to tip really turned me off.

Great place

I picked up rasmalai from this restaurant for a potluck dinner at our friends place. Unfortunately, the entire order was spoiled. It smelled bad and tasted even worse. One bite was enough to tell it was stale and bitter. I called the restaurant the next day to inform them, but the owner denied any issue and claimed they would never serve bad food, refusing to take responsibility. This lack of accountability is very concerning. I would not buy anything from here again, even if it was the only restaurant open in the city. This is not the first time weve had a bad experience with this place, and we regret giving them another chance.

I wouldn t recommend anyone dining here.The food quality was subpar, with portions that were too small. The dishes had a basic, homestyle flavour, and unfortunately, most of what we ordered tasted very similar. Don t even get me started on the service that we received. Given the cost, I expected much better and regret spending my money at this establishment.

Something happened to this place in the last year. Recently picked up paneer pakora and they were absolutely horrible. Couldnt even chew them, they were hard like stone.

Very good Indian food, and service is always on point. Only 4 stars for the atmosphere, b/c always ordered takeout. What is extra awesome is that Pakawaan is competent at providing dairy free (have moderate food allergy) dishes, incl. modifying some when possible. Really appreciate being able to order meals that satisfy the dietary needs of meat eaters all the way to vegans <3 Vegetarian options: Call and ask for their recommendations; some dishes they will modify when possible also. Dietary restrictions: Note: be aware that trace amounts (ie. diary) possible even with vegan dishes.

It was good experience for me, I had dine in with my friends and the lady served us was very nice and friendly. Also the food was too good my friends also lived the food. I am surely recommending this to everyone out there.

We eat from this restaurant about twice a month. It has gotten consistently better since it opened. Its always tasty and fresh. The spicing is subtle. I love the korma and tandoori chicken the Biryani is also quite good. You want to order the medium or hot spice as it really brings out the distinctive flavour.

Ordered off Door Dash. Such amazing flavour. We had the Butter Chicken, Vegy Pakora, Onion Bahit, Aloo Gobi, Saphron rice and naan. Everything was sooooo delicious. This place is a must try !!!

I ordered dal makhni and paneer makhni, it was full of food colouring with no flavours at all. It was just a paste of red sauce with no cream in it. I would not recommend this place. Vegetarian options: Not good at all.

This place is good food however over priced and half a meal. When you go to a restaurant anywheres there is always the dish and side how ever they charge you for the whole dish and leave out the side that is suppose to be included- no restaurant you go to where you buy just meat it always comes with choice of side rice mash or veggies or even fries to make a complete meal but this place and the other Indian skip this and charge full price for one thing. I hope they can accommodate and make a meal complete - who just eats chicken ?

I decided to stop in here on my way home for the first time. I ordered the mango milkshake and the vegetable samosa. Both items are delicious! The samosa was crispy on the outside and mouth watering in the middle. I look forward to placing a larger order next time. The milkshake does have a little bit of ice, and in my experience of a milkshake, there is no ice. However, its really good. From my little experience, I recommend trying it and the lady who helped me was smiley and sweet. :) Vegetarian options: They have vegetable pakora, samosa, and other dishes.

We ordered 6 biriyanis and 2 of them were lamb. Ive been to enough Indian restaurants to figure out that the amount of tomatoes used in cooking those lamb biriyani is hilarious. You can only taste the sourness. 3 spicy biriyani had been dumped with flaming hot something which Ive never experienced anywhere.Dont know where this chef is from. Other than that indian biriyani comes with raita which was missing. Not a single person had finished their biriyani. However, those coconut and mango Lassi is highly recommended!

It is painful to say i had ever bad test in this place. I went there with my family 8 people. I order Biryani it was Super hot with huge tomato sauce. Test become sour and hot feel like having food thay madhe it 4 days before.

I ordered the prawns biryani where the prawns are not properly cooked. I requested them to make the over cook the prawns but still it s same . I don t refer for any biryani in this restaurant. Taaz is far better than this .

One of the cheap and waste restaurant that I have seen. The food is unhygienic and worst taste as they are using frozen food and warming up. But if you really need biryani then you expect the tomato bath rice with raw boiled meat. Owner is so abusive that if react aggressively if you speak anything wrong. It s ok as it s expected some illiterate folk. But please let you staff know not to pick up the food on the floor and add to customer plates. And Muslims are really concern about halal. You say it s halal but your staff say it s not halal . Why do you bluff ? Wahe guru ji taught you to use abusive language for sharing the feedback. This owner is creator black mark on wahe guru

The food is simply delicious. We had gotten catering for 30 people and it was done totally on time. My family from all over enjoyed the food immensely. Restaurant is clean and the staff was also really nice and easy to deal with. So polite and smiley. I recommend Pakwan to all.

The quality of food is great, the portions are big and the price is reasonable.

We ve been visiting Pakwan since it opened. Unfortunately, the last few visits have been sub-par. This culminated with our last visit. The mild curry was bland, the medium chicken tikka was too hot (I typically order medium or hot) and the hot coconut lamb was slightly less hot then the tikka and not up to standard. Disappointing for a once great restaurant, probably our last visit.

Would not recommend AT ALL. The restaurant prepared the wrong order, and refused to take it back. In addition, the bread was half cooked, and when we spoke to the manager, she refused to accept that. Extremely disappointing food.

Food was tasty there, but one thing restaurant has to focus on the quantity they serve. We ordered couple dishes. One dish was only good for 1 person. Me and my family had been travelling and surviving off of fast food for the past week. This restaurant provided us with fresh, flavourful, filling and tasty food. The serving time was short and the staff was very kind and attentive to what ever we needed. 10/10 would come again.

Glenmore gem! One of the neatest dine-in experiences weve had...super friendly service and the food is excellent. We enjoyed the veg pakora, veg biryani and paneer. All delicious and huge servings. I noticed they were doing a brisk take-out business while we were there. I understand why!

Myself, my husband and our 1 year old son were visiting Kelowna for the weekend from Vancouver. This was the first restaurant we attempted to eat at after the long drive up. It was 8:12pm and they were to close at 9. Upon entering, all we were asked was Picking up takeout? my husband responded with No, we d like to eat in ..in which we got a We don t serve dine in after 8 .. What???? We then proceeded to leave as they clearly didn t want our business nor did the gentleman make the effort to even offer takeout or anything to not let us leave unhappy. I have no doubt their food is good, but I m not going to eat at and give a restaurant my hard earned money when they completely lack basic customer service. Not impressed and would never come back or recommend.

I went with a friend yesterday. They have halal chicken and lamb. The food was amazing. It was a great experience. But what made everything even better is the lady who served us. She was so nice and cheerful and I have never experienced anything like this before. Her behaviour and humbleness is something that literally took my heart home. This has become my favourite place and I can t wait to visit this place with more of my friends in the future. Highly recommending this place and the positive energy of this place is everything.

This little restaurant is getting 5 stars, not because of the decor which could use some updating, not because of the tiny but clean washroom, or even the mandatory Bollywood movie playing discreetly in the background. It is because of the mouth-watering food cooked to perfection and the service that the owner gave us. Portions are generous, I ate more than I should of. It is obvious that all the energy goes into the menu. This little gem is out of our way but worth the trip.

Wow what an experience at this little family run buissness / restaurant!!!! We are from Alberta and have been Camping for couple days and we all wanted to eat home style home cooked food. Disappointed (missing food items): I generally enjoy Pakwaans food and like the service overall. I just had a terrible experience today : Today, I ordered the food from Pakwan restaurant; the restaurant missed part of my order (three garlic naan bread) when I requested to resend the order they bluntly suggested placing a refund. I was expecting more sensible customer-friendly behaviour. I waited for an hour to get the order and Ive urgent work to finish. Please beware, it is not only disrespectful but also obscene in the hospitality industry. Anyway, I must cook some bread as I cant wait another hour to place new order.

The food was not worth it! Only good thing was naan! The chai is made with ajwain (not what usually is an ingredient in chai!!). Biryani was more like pulao and their gravy s were not fresh. 2 stars - 1 for naan and 1 for customer service, as the lady who was our server was very polite.

I just ordered some of their food off uber eats and I have to say, some of the best food in Kelowna. Chicken and beef like you wouldnt believe! One of their dishes reminded me of something my mom used to make and honestly, Im homesick as I eat it. I could not reccomend this place enough!

Weve enjoyed the food from this restaurant twice now. The palak paneer is fabulous, but we were very, very disappointed with the fish vandaloo. Although the flavours were excellent, it should have been called potato vandaloo with some fish.

Have a lot of experience eating dinners at many of my friends houses. This obliviates them! I actually had tears in my eyes after tasting the third dish and discovering it was just as outstanding as the first two... breathtaking in nuance and character. You have to have this at least once in your lifetime. It just completely took over our take out calendar!

Lamb Byriani was not even close to many of these dishes I had throughout the years. Wrong spices, wrong rice consistency... was edible but I maybe finished half of it and gave up.

Ordered 2 servings of butter chicken thinking it was going to be our dinner. Came home to find out it doesnt come with rice or naan, I wasnt even asked if I wanted it. Friggin delicious. This aint no greasy Indian takeout. This was goddamn tasty, authentic, and plentiful! They dont skimp on the serving sizes. The samosas are the best Ive ever had.

Ive been ordering from them regularly for a year and a half. I placed an order tonight and had my wife pick it up on her way home. When she arrived I noticed an extra dish on the bill and in the bag that I had not ordered - chicken vindaloo. When I called to let them know about the mistake I was just hoping they would offer a credit to use in future. The lady that answered the phone insinuated by her comment that I must have ordered it because it has a very distinct name and that it was odd that it would have been entered in error. Well, Ive never ordered chicken vindaloo in my life. Lamb vindaloo yes. Chicken no. I know what I ordered. I was initially told that if I didnt return it that same night I wouldnt get a refund. Well Pakwaan, its the first night Ive been able to sit down with my family for dinner all week. I am not going to get back into my car at dinner time and do a 25 minute return trip to correct your error for a single dish. It is the principle of the matter. I was then told I could return it the following day. Just terrible manners on their part over a silly thing. Why not just offer a credit to a customer? In all fairness, their food is pretty good. But you have to have customer service to go with it.

We, a group of 8 people, went to Kelowna on a holiday and ordered takeout from Pakwaan. The curries were loaded with oil. It instantly felt unhealthy because of the sheer amount of oil and lack of taste. The paneer curries were tasteless and the naan breads were hard. The lentils were not cooked properly. We were surprised because being from India we know how easy it is to cook lentils properly. Overall, we were disappointed and angry while having their food. We ordered food based on others google reviews. Its important that people post their honest opinion while rating a restaurant or its food standards.

We had taken out order from this restaurant during our trip for about 8 people based on good reviews posted by other. I must say it is not worth the money , all curries was with too much oil, the taste was also not so good . I would not recommend this place to anyone .

I came to Kelowna from Vancouver with my friends just for a vacation and we wanted to try out Indian food because we never had tried it before, so we decided to come to Pakwaan Restaurant, it was totally outstanding the food the price everything was amazing. There were 5 of us and we got 4 dishes including 2 Paneer Kadai and 2 Chicken curries with Garlic naan, the taste of the food was out of this world and the portions were really good so it was enough for all of us. 10/10 will come back here asap.

I am new to kelowna and I wanted to try out some Indian food and went on website for best Indian food and pakwaa restaurant came up and I am glad that I ate from this restaurant Chilli chicken was amazing with garlic Naan and for appetizer chicken pakora everything was on point and the portions were reasonably good size for me. 10/10 will come here again.

In my 38 years Ive never tried east indian food my girlfriend always goes here and she always says its bang on authentic and I tried the butter chicken. Absolutely delicious full of flavor. They are magical with spices. Best food in my life.

Decent food but great friendly people

Delicious food! Service was ok.

I have ordered Samosa chaat and Samosas. Samosa chaat did not seem like an Indian dish. Flavour, aroma and taste everything sucked. Samosa was dry and had no flavour in that as well. Disappointed with their dishes. No going back.

They arent kidding. Its the best tandoori chicken Ive ever had in Kelowna.

The butter is chicken is really really sugary. I didnt finish it. Otherwise my meal was good. I had Palak paneer (which did not skimp on the cheese). The naan was nice. Beware if you order the coconut rice that it is also very sugary - maybe its a dessert thing? Maybe thats how its supposed to be, but between the sugary rice and sugary butter chicken, it was a bit too much for me.

Mediocre food not worth the high price. The wait times for pick-up are always at least double what they tell you and the food is...off? Sadly, we will be steering clear of this restaurant in the future.

Would have been a great meal, but charged me $10 for 2 GIANT family sides of rice for 2 people eating. I only wanted 2 small sides to go with our dishes, which at most places is included in the price anyways. The person on the phone needs to clarify and make sure the customer knows when they are being charged extra and the serving sizes, especially if they are picking up. Butter chicken is excellent.

I am from vancouver , the food at Pakwaan is very delicious and authentic . Staff was very professional and service was great. I was surprised with such a GREAT service in Kelowna by Pakwaan team, they serve large portions and the price is very reasonable , I will definitely return to Pakwaan restaurant because I miss the taste .thank you cooks for such nice food,love thier butter chicken and nan with rice :-)

My grandson loves their Lamb masala...i love the butter chicken..we always get lots of garlic naan and samosas too... Very nice people and ready quick.. highly recommend

The food from Pakwaan is amazing. Quite possibly the best Indian food in Kelowna. We ordered on a whim in early summer, and were so pleased with it that its become our go to takeout during the pandemic. Were never disappointed!!!!
