Easygoing, informal eatery offering an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet with sushi & noodles.
I cant believe people actually think this is good food😂. Go to Ozeki or Momo for sushi if that’s what you’re looking for. Every single dish was either terrible, or subpar. Not worth the price. Showing one server the avocado was rotten, she said to just eat around it… like no. Tempura has lots of deep fried batter chunks all around it. The sushi rolls had no fish or anything, just straight up cucumber for the most part. The dim sum type dish tasted like dog food. I cant believe ppl give this place 5 stars.. comical. Some pics below.
I mean… 😂 what can I say about it?? the price for ayce is not cheap at all, but if you want to have sushi, 90% is RICE. pls check the photos. I’ve never seen a skinny nigiri like this or a temaki with this much rice before🥹😂 tempura is super greasy, soaked with oil, it’s terrible, I didn’t even take a photo for that Not worth it, 70 dollars you can have a nice party tray, don’t come here and waste your money
This place is awesome. I was visiting from The coast ( Victoria ) so I know good sushi. The sushi is excellent here, the prices are very reasonable , and they have so many other options to try in addition to sushi. The customer service is superb. I came here a year ago and loved it and came back a year later and still loved it. I’ll be back next Summer!
Tokyo1 is an excellent restaurant with affordable prices and outstanding customer service. The food is delicious and budget-friendly, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive.
Stunning design and decor. Huge wooden doors, beautiful amenities. Tablet ordering took a bit to navigate and the language barrier made it tricky but once we started eating it was worth it. The al a cart option was not told to us so at first - I was overwhelmed by having to do the all you can eat but I overheard another guest say you could get al a cart dishes and that was great for us.
Absolutely delighted with my experience at this restaurant! The delicious variety of sushi, hot dishes, and desserts exceeded expectations. The service was impressively fast, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the menu presentation on iPads was a beautiful touch. A perfect spot for family gatherings, outings with friends, or entertaining clients. Highly recommended!
Recently moved from the lower mainland to the Okanagan and I was worried we wouldn’t be able to find a good AYCE sushi spot, but when we came across Tokyo One it did not disappoint! - Food is great every time we go, almost always tasting fresh. We have had a few misses with the real crab, but the sashimi is always delicious. - We love that there’s so limit on how much you can order! - My favourite is the curry chicken fried rice, gyoza, pizza, and cones. My partner loves the rainbow roll, and sashimi - we honestly go just for the salmon. - The service is always quick, and friendly. There seems to always be big tables when we go, so a good spot for groups. - Bonus points, they have an awesome little market attached and it has some things I love and had a hard time finding since I’ve moved. - The only ‘con’ is that it can be quite pricey, around $100 for 2 with a tip and a drink. Usually what we order pays for itself though! We’ve made this a regular spot for a dining out, you probably will too!
Came here for lunch in a private room for a meeting. Service was pretty quick, but with so many ppl and all different orders with one tablet, it was a little confusing to know which food you ordered. If you come as just one group or family, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Service was pretty quick during a weekday lunch. Good value for lunch and you're hungry, but make sure you don't over order or you'll be charged. I'll visit again, but only if I'm hungry and I know which dishes are good so I didn't waste.
Enjoyed birthday lunch eating a variety of sushi. Finished with a simple dessert of icream. Food was fresh and enjoyable.
Extremely friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and delicious fresh food prices on the higher side very worth it for the delicious meal that you get.
We ate there tonight (5 people ) and the food is just terrible . Beef roll had an after taste , sashimis are not fresh at all , mussels are topped with mayanoise are the worst ever! Steamed dumplings are like left overs from day before, tempura s are very greasy, the stir fried vegetables had a smell, everything that we order is not what we expected! . Not coming back again !
Japanese food made in China. not Tokyo1 its Beijing 1 Food
I go here once every month or two and the food is always good, if you want a place where you can relax while eating some good food this is it. Will keep going, love it
Best restaurant ever!!!! Ive gone a few times and every time was an amazing experience
Everything is good, and here s my two cents: ask for soy sauce packets. The soy sauce on the table is so bland. I was having a hard time figuring why sushi hits different (in a bad way) at tokyo 1, it was because of the bland soy sauce on the tables. If you ask for soy sauce packets, they will give you (they did for me at least).
came her for my boyfriends sisters birthday and they canceled 5 of our orders and ignored us constantly when we tried ordering drinks and the thing I ended up getting made me sick and we tried asking 4 different servers and I personally work in the restaurant industry and found it extremely unprofessional our server couldn t even do math for any of the bills and it was extremely simple addition and subtraction I offered to do the math for the server and got ignored and we didn t receive any compensation
I am continually amazed at what some people think is good food. The food in this restaurant is not only not good, it is horrible. In fact it is hands down, the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The service is abismal and the atmosphere reflects that. It also took 45 minutes to sort out the bill for a party of 15 and 5 people did not get their food. We were told after we complained that our order had not gone through because you can t touch the screen for 20 seconds after confirming your order. Of course we weren t told this beforehand. We will never return.
Sorry, food was tasteless.
Celebrated my daughters birthday. Worst service Ive ever had and my mom who is 70 said the same. 5 people at one end of table ordered off the menu and order for them never went in. Server didnt notice 5 people walked out hungry after waiting a hr and no sorry or rush order from them server just said oh well Im busy no care at all. Still spent 600 on other side could of easily been a 1000 dollar table but server could care less. Water cups empty didnt refill, 1/2 hr to get container for leftovers, writing bills on napkins, couldnt do simple math or answer simple questions. Also tge bathroom is so bad a outhouse is better option and probably cleaner. The next day some people felt ill from food. Ill never to back if I could give 0 stars I would
Im not sure how the cook preparing this even thinks it is ok to serve it in a roll
Everything was great! Food was super fresh and came out fast
Its quite expensive, but one of the best places to eat sushi. There is a huge selection and everything I tried was simply delicious. Highly recommended!
WoW!!! Amazing food! Great service! Sashimi was amazing!! Wish I had ordered less sushi rolls so I had space to try more things. That being said, everything was amazing and we had a great time. Would HIGHLY recommend!
Was a great meal as usual. Ive never been disappointed in this place .. They are always fast friendly and clean. Food is top-notch . Its a little pricey but with it .. Check them out ! Wheelchair accessibility: First 4 spots
Not the same as before Food was cold dried out alot and not worth the money Food
Really odd experience the waitress spilled sauce all over me and then just walked away abysmal service. The food was poor to be polite
Service is awful
Food was okay, however, the server dropped the food all over my pants and the right side of me. They clean, gave me 2 napkins and the food wasnt even replaced, we had to re-order what they dropped. Maybe a little bit more of acknowledgement next time would be appreciated.
Food is decent, service is great but the table we were seated at was dirty
Subpar food, very thin sashimi. Not worth it.
09/01/2024 Tempura shrimps/veggies/scallops/calamari are all bland (no taste, not marinated to the Japanese savory). I feel bad for the owner(s) who entrusted his employees with the prep work, management & services ..under average performance. Ginger was ordered to accompany the sashimi, and was requested over and over then finally completely forgotten. Eye contacts with servers were ignored, This is an all you can eat restaurant, prices are $40.99 / adult, senior $35.99, which means prices are in the higher range; as customers we are more than willing to pay the price, as restaurant owners have you done your part to ensure you provide your guests with the quality and service that go with the brand? Would you like us to recommend this place to other guests? Unfortunately NOT, We do not want anyone to experience what we had gone through, especially when you are vacationing, in such a beautiful town. Most guests come from all over our wonderful nation. Therefore guests should feel welcomed, up beat and happy so they can return year after year.
$39.99 for one adult. $10.99 for kids 3-6 Which is insane because the menu isn t really that crazy. A few good rolls here and there. But not $40 worth. Cheese wontons are amazing. Service is crap. But what do you expect? Seems to be the trend total crap service.
Amazing all you can eat sushi. Will definitely be back 10/10
I would rate this restaurant at 2. I have visited this restaurant many times before and was looking forward to it again. Loved the food and service. Unfortunately when I visited yesterday, the food did not seem fresh, the chicken tasted spoilt, the hot water tasted rusty. No wonder the restaurant is not busy anymore. Not worth the money...very disappointed. Brought the matter to the supervisor. Annual visit to kelowna.
Enjoyed the food ordered, it was very fast to the table, waiter was very friendly and helped us with the ordering process. It was an all you can eat restaurant. Vegetarian options: They had veggie and sushi dishes. Some dishes served with tofu.
Every time I come here I am always pleased with the food and the service. The food is exceptional and the selection is outstanding. The sushi is always fresh and the food that is cooked is always done quickly. $40 is cheap for what you get! Highly recommended!!!
You can eat from your belly! Unlimited sushi and much more! Heres from $30 to $40 per person! It doesn t happen every once in a while (probably depends on the change of chefs) but today I came with my wife, and all the food was incredibly delicious, delicious sushi and steaks, drinks, polite staff!
Hand rolls crumbled easily, rice was on the dry side. About 10% of the order never arrived, items took more than 20 minutes to start arriving.
I consider myself a foodie and have tried plenty of sushi food in my years, and this is certainly very low quality. Even the beef and chicken have no beef and chicken textures. Very fake! In summary, we tried a variety of options and all of them were the same low quality. The $39.99/person at dinner is not worth it. I don t recommend it and won t come back. From the looks of it when I was there it seemed there weren t any locals, only unlucky tourists, and myself as a new resident. Don t trust the 4 or 5-star reviews!
The ipad ordering system is friendly, however touch screen looks so greasy, there are many fingerprints on ipad screen. So gross . Waitresses work very hard. There are only two waitresses take order/refill water and it is difficult to grab them. Salmon sashimi served still have ice in it.. meat are served with strange taste, mostly flour in fried stuff. Fish is smelly, I almost throw out after eating the fish I also found out there are people trying to brag about how good the restaurant is on social media and when I comment they deleted mine.
Great place to experience authentic food
This place was once really good. Food was mediocre, service was bad (rude and rushed), bathrooms dirty and the overall value.. terrible.
The service is fast and efficient but the food lacks flavour and quality. It felt like I was eating a paper tower when I ordered some of the items. Food
Food is amazing
We were a group of 10. Only 1/4 of our orders arrived. A lot has changed since the pandemic. The service and food quality is extremely poor. I would recommend going to Asian Pear buffet instead. It is not worth paying $40++ do not go, spend your money elsewhere.
Tokyo 1 has sadly gone downhill a little bit since my first visit almost 7 years ago. Their pricing has increased pretty substantially to the point where you have to eat a LOT of food to make it worth your while. The sushi and sashimi is still top notch, with great presentation. But some other items like the spring rolls were a little soggy and 90% cabbage. The crab rangoon is now 90% pastry, with a tiny Quarter sized dollop of filling. Sadly with 88 Buffet closing and Mad Mango being extremely hit or miss, this is one of the last buffet options and our last outing was less than stellar. All in all, its worth the trip if you stick to the half dozen items they do extremely well, and if youre only getting sushi, sashimi, or their wonton soup its a great experience. But now there are several items not worth your time.
Wow! Just wow! Incredible food, staff are top notch, service is amazing! Went for a birthday dinner and served 9 of us no problem at all! Drinks are amazing, food is to die for and love the atmosphere of the place, it is connected to the Sandman so if you are staying there come here to eat! You wont regret it!
Ok food, nothing more Atmosphere Friendly Impeccable service
Sushi that was different from the menu description kept appearing. I cant help but understand that its different from the picture. I think there is a problem with the ingredients not being included in the menu description. The taste was so-so and the side dishes were all bad. I think I ordered almost all kinds of sushi to see if there was anything delicious, but none of the special sushi was delicious.
Really good food and awesome way to order with an iPad, service was great.
Food was ok but not as fresh or tasty as previous time...pre covid. The price I had seen was $30/adult, $25/senior. We got the bill and was shocked to see $40/weekend adult and $35/weekend senior . Simply exorbitant and underhanded. We wont be back.
This last time was a truly disappointing and wasnt tasty sadly it was some of the worst food ever nothing tasted correctly but the the service was excellent. The atmosphere was shameful not clean very dirty even the washrooms. I used to try go once or more a month NEVER AGAIN Sadly
Very bad service very bad food very high price for food that is served in kids plates
I honestly don t know how this restaurant got a 4.5 review. The one star is not even enough to say how horrible this restaurant s service. I get it some restaurants could get busy, but is it even fair to wait for 1 hour for your small portion of yakiudon? I even gave them a benefit of the doubt that maybe anything from the kitchen might take a while so we order on the sushi bar instead since we seem to get that first. BUT GUESS WHAT? On our second order, they took ages again. It took ages that the food we ate from the first time was already digested. We got the attention of the server. We asked her to double check what was happening and the server did not even do anything! I ve never had a bad experience in AYCE before. Heck, I ve never entered a restaurant hungry and left hungry too. The $40 per head ayce is complete rubbish! I swear even on the last attempt to get the yakiudon, we asked for it, it came and it was cold!!! We told the server that it was cold and he was like: Let me warm it up for you . So are you saying the food was pre-made?! Ugh. Horrible horrible experience. We did not even hear a simple apology. If you ask me how the food taste like, frankly I did not even know how to appreciate the food. It felt like it just went in my mouth quicker to feed myself.
Its pretty good. Definitely not the best sushi joint in town, but its got good variety outside just Japanese and is pretty good value, especially if you have a big stomach. The atmosphere is impeccable though.
Great sushi, all you can eat is great. You get an iPad order and send ...they bring food quickly. Highly recommend!
Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Service was bland. Once food was ordered, it hit the table in seconds.... all of it. I couldnt believe it. Obviously pre cooked meals. Nothing was fresh and food was not tasty. The rice was dry on the rolls, beef/chicken teriyaki were dry. Sashimi pieces were small. The mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine on the menu was intriguing, but not satisfying. The place was large and nice. Seats are comfortable. For the quality of the food alone and service received, we wont return. Value for money/experience was not good.
The chicken wasn t good too much batter for the quantity of chicken. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like thick sugary water, the spicy sushi wasn t even spicy, the beef tasted like tofu, the sauce was also not good. For the price, it was really not worth it. Would not recommend and won t come back.
fiancé and I both love asian food, went here friday night and were very excited to try ayce. it was decently busy, and still our service was fast and consistent. tried all sorts of sashimi, tempura, meats and teriyaki, as well as gyoza and cheese wontons. very yummy overall, if you can eat a lot or youre looking to try new things this is a very affordable way to do it! we definitely felt we got our moneys worth
Unfortunately, two of the specialty rolls didn t show up and we were all excited because you have to wait 15 to 20 minutes for them and looked amazing .and we ordered some more short ribs and they never showed up as well. Other than that for the price point was good, , everything was fresh and came out fast. We all enjoyed.
Bathrooms amazing! Food 100 percent!! Highly recommend!!!
Bus sushi
Best buffet in kelowna
A unique experience. Liked that the portions were small so you could try a lot of things. My only disappointment was tempura was heavy with grease and for only 2 pieces the entire paper on the botton of the basket was soaked in grease but hopefully that was just a one off as we were the first customers and maybe the deep fryer wasnt hot enuff yet. The 3 dim sum pork dumplings were awful. My partner and i each had one and neither of us could finish the third piece. Sushi was good. Lots of variety. Bathrooms must be experienced as ive never used BLACK toilets, but you cant tell if they are clean! Lol
Food quality was quite mid for the price. Tried a bit of everything. Wonton was a bit too salty, sushi rolls were sticky, nothing stood out taste wise. Service was nothing special, they ll just place a plate down while saying nothing and walk away. Half of our dinner there was someone clanking dishes loudly for 30 minutes. $120 for three people.
Disappointed that they took so many items off their menu and the quality of food/taste isn t very good considering the price you have to pay
My boyfriend went today and almost immediately started nonstop throwing up from the crab roll, he s not allergic to crab what so ever, makes you wonder if they get fresh crabs?
good food = good mood
We loved this place for years .. it s gone downhill but tonight was the last time for us .. the rice was a mixture of raw and burnt , the deep fried milk tasted like wildfire char, wonton was frozen .. I could go on but when my son and I go it s always over $100 with a tip, for the two of us, .. that $100 will have to spent someplace else from now on.. so sad this place used to be great
Delicious food, great choice. I like ordering from tablet and receive my order so fast! And green tea is amazing! Food
Service was okay, I like the iPad for ordering but it gives a food court style feeling. They ran out of rice on a Friday evening at 8pm? The location is nice and a/c is strong. We went for a la carte ordering. California roll was awful, Im judging that they put an unmashed crab stick in there and the rice wasnt made well Miso soup had too much soya sauce in it and the gyozas are definitely frozen and only seared on the bottom. Decided to go elsewhere when they promptly asked us about whether we wanted to wait for rice to be made.
$38, Dec 2022, Very good flavors. Good variety. Quick service. Could spend a little more time on details. Ordering tablet sent meals to wrong table but got corrected quick. Mar 2023, $38 better food and service, etc. Ill be back. Back again June 2024. Tony served us. Great job. Good food. Fast service. Parking: 50 spots.
We are 4 people in lunch, 2 of us get food poison...
definitely worth trying out. it s novel and the food is decent.
Excellent!
I had one of the worst experience here. I waited for more than 20 minutes for the two dishes while they served other people who came after me. The soup was served in the dirty dish and they charged me $40 for 2 small portion dishes saying they only charge the set dinner rate.
All you can eat sushi, need I say more! Super awesome place with so many options. We will be back! Vegetarian options: Lots of options for all kinds of preferences. Dietary restrictions: Im allergic to avocado, which is in a lot of sushi but there were still a lot of things I could eat here.
Took forever to receive my food. The food has no flavor, very basic and unpleasant. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I hope they improve the food quality.
Rude staff , very poor food quality, dishes were dirty. Very plain flavoured food. Overpriced for the selection.
Food has gone downhill. It is very expensive and very bad quality
Drove to Kelowna, from the lower mainland and after touring around the city, we had dinner at Tokyo 1. Service was okay and food was okay. I will mention, the beef fried rice had some flaws. The beef in the fried rice tasted rubbish. I don t understand how the beef skewers are crispy but the beef in the fried rice was the complete opposite. Hopefully they can make some improvements in the future regarding the dish. The rest was alright :) 6/10
As always good and service was good
Not a fan of ordering from a tablet
The all you can eat menu is huge, and you order from their easy to use ipad menus. Many categories to choose from include appetizers, soups, rolls, sushi, main dishes, tempura, deserts... and more. You can take your time, order a few items, then eat them, order a few more then take 15 minute rest until you are ready to start all over again (within reason, of course) They make so much of it fresh right infront of your eyes at the sushi roll station in the front of the dining room. The best parts of Tokyo 1 is most definitely the food. Almost every thing we tried was great.
What a gem of a restaurant. Smart idea using iPad as a menu
Pretty good for an all you can eat place. Food was about average, service was bland. Food came pretty quick.
The sushi is pretty good. Ive definitely had better, but the experience of ordering off of tablets with all you can eat is super cool! Their all u can eat prices are just way too expensive now, its not really worth it anymore for what you get
What an experience! If youre not in a hurry and you have time for dinner absolutely worth it. Non-stop trays of morsels.. mmmm.
Amazing food very good set up for ordering food . Always fresh food very fast staff is nice and friendly helpful as well . Highly recommended place . Update. Place is still amazing .
Great place to eat, service is great no complaints!!
Disappointed. All you can eat portions are small. I felt like the place cut corners and cheaped out. Soy sauce seemed watered down. Food was meh. Service was crappy. On our group they missed 8 of our orders. Anyway, it sucked and left.
May have to say the atmosphere wasnt bad at all. But their female servers never give me any smiles and they look cold, genuinely a few of them look like they dont want to work there. The male servers, however, they were pretty friendly (at least this is what I got). Food aint too bad, I had a shrimp fried rice it slaps, their salmon sushi aint bad too, but there were just too much rice and I cannot taste any salmon but vinegar rice, this is where it lost the 1 star for food. But their fried chicken and their tempura were just great though, they were coming in hot and fresh. I also had their Chinese beef (I dont really remember their names cuz I had all of em), most of them are just great. Tender and just great with a bowl of steamed rice. I went for lunch so I think the price was a-okay. Its a pass for me all in all if you dont mind the services.
The best sushi restaurant in Kelowna!
The food is fantastic but this review is more about their little shop. Please be careful many of there drinks and snacks have Expired in 2022 & 2023.
great buffet, very tasty, loads of food
Their chicken doesn t taste like chicken, texture is like tofu. It could be something else but not a real chicken. Taste and texture was not even similar to chicken. I would never order chicken teriyaki. The service was not friendly at all. From now on, I can t trust what is cooked and especially if staff is not friendly and willing to tell me. I used to recommend this restaurant to my friends but will not any more. They used to have much better service last year.
All you can eat, and well worth it. Sooo good
Employees lack of interaction with the guest they just put the food on the table without saying a word.We are not dogs we are paying customers ..
Good food, solid wait staff. Make sure you have room for dessert
Not worth to eat here. Ordered 10 but 3-4 only arrived. And took almost an hour for the 2nd one.
Good food. Really have amazing environment
FILTHY RESTAURANT. The food experience was ok but we couldn t get over the filth, everywhere. Floors look as though they ve never seen a mopping. All of the chandelier lamp shades above the tables were covered in thick dust. The floors below the booths were so grungy. The tile wall surrounding our booth was covered with various food splats. As I said the food was so-so but I couldn t help thinking what the back of house looks like?! Actually, I can t believe it s still in operation and hasn t been shut down. Too bad. Has good potential just needs ownership that actually cares. It s a mess!
Awesome place to have lunch or dinner, and host parties. Love the variety of the food, and very fresh and delicious! Highly recommend.
I would say one of the best value restaurants, if you are a hefty eater. Excellent quality seafood. Sometimes a bit saucy but you can order around that. Good puddin! Vegetarian options: Available.
Rudest manager and staff I have ever dealt with. Leaned right in my face, ignored COVID protocols, and nobody bothered to contact trace at all. Also watched the manager clean several tables without sanitizing in between and then continued to come take our payment. Will NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
Best price to performance restaurant i have ever been. Food is delicious and unlimited perfect service, servers are very kind and hard working.
Nice place, great food, and fast service
Since pandemic, food quality has gone down. Hot dishes arrive barely warm. Flavors lacking compared to previously. Pretty sad, as for years this has been my favorite place
My favorite restaurant! I bring my daughter and whoever will come with me all the time! Great food! Fast, and such a fun experience with the iPad for ordering. Menu is great for newcomers to sushi, get to try all sorts, and find more new rolls you didnt know you could love!!
I m sad. Used to be my go to place when I wanted to stuff my face with sashimi and get a variety of food. But since the pandemic it has just gone downhill. Prices have raised and less menu items and quality down. $38.99!! Seriously. And for the first time I could not even eat my sashimi because it felt slimy and unappetizing. And items were taking super long while others weren t. For example ordered shrimp tempura right away and they never came so I assumed forgot about them. Oh well pretty much full so we ordered dessert ..they then came after the dessert. Lovely. And speaking of dessert the lime strawberry jello my daughter ordered. Was so thick and hard it was seriously like a rubber ball. I told her not to eat it and we left. Honestly this used to be a weekly place we would go. Took about a year off recently (finances and health issues) and this was the first time back and honestly won t go again. Was disappointed as the pandemic went on with what I was seeing and this just sealed the deal. Sad.
A little pricey, but worth it once and a while. Lots to choose from
This is my favorite all you can eat to go to! Their food is always so fresh and tasty. Even when theyre busy, they still get the food out to you in a timely manner! All their wait staff is amazing! I always go for dinner all you can eat because they have a large choice in sashimi. Its definitely a place you need to visit if you visit Kelowna, but if you live here and love your sushi, its a must! Dietary restrictions: Some good options for gluten-free and dairy free.
Food is Good quality here ! Service is generally fast but dont expect a smile or friendly conversation. All business the inside is decent but not really themed and could use an update outside is a little rundown could use some clean up . They have a great little market inside as well as restaurant.
I wouldnt give a one star unless I was totally unimpressed, so heres my over all experience. Took my girlfriend there last week. The last time I was there two years ago it was great. This time I noticed that the prices have gone up significantly, there are way less items on the menu included in the all you can eat, the restaurant was filthy with dried up food splatters that covered the wall beside us, the atmosphere was dark and gloomy, service was terrible and unfriendly (not a single smile from staff and when they brought us our food they just set it down not even making eye contact with us, the meat dishes were luke warm at best and the meat was mostly fat chunks. Just over all a terrible experience and a waste of my hard earned 90$ Will not be back
Typical Chinese run sushi AYCE. Good selection but nothing fancy. If you are hungry and not really into Sashimi I would recommend go for lunch which is more reasonably priced. Service good, forgot a couple dishes but it s AYCE so we didn t care. Tom Yum was a little strange. Shrimps are not the freshest. But overall okay quality.
Not a good experience at all. Im a sushi lover and know that all you can eat is never high quality, but this left much to be desired. Normally I wouldnt leave a poor review, but theyre offering free stuff for five star reviews, last time I saw this was in Vietnam. Where they beg you for a great review and if you dont say things are great they dont mention leaving a review...
Great place just a bit pricey
Great variety on the menu, great service. The sushi is just ok.
Its an all you can eat sushi place, and some of the rolls were very good, but nothing was memorable. The best thing I tried was some chicken skewers that we ordered for a friends kid. I ordered OJ and they brought water. There was definitely a language barrier with the server. Kid-friendliness: We have a baby and they had the high chairs, but we asked for a paper/plastic plate so the baby would not break something and the server answered: No And left.
Great food, great service, solid atmosphere. Only thing I could even remotely critique is the desserts. The ones they have are very good, but Id love more selection. Go. Enjoy.
You havent experience sushi before you come here ! Best place ever sushi
Always enjoy eating here but continually are given the wrong amount of food ordered. Can be over or under. Also had to wait 45 minutes to receive some tempura, it was a Tuesday night and Maybe 6 other tables in the place.
Food was great Atmosphere was great But 2 of the server is not polite (2 female) when the other female server is giving us the food she is like throwing the plates to our table wherein the wanton soup spilled. Food : 5/5
I m actually astonished there is a single good review of this restaurant. I ve had the displeasure of giving this restaurant 3 solid tries and every single one was awful. The food is disgusting, especially the raw fish never tastes fresh, some even a squishy/mushy texture. If you order off the buffett, expect your food to come out of order with multiple missed dishes. Expect the service to be rude and cold. I ve never in my life had to spit out food before going to this place. Don t even get me started on the cleanliness of this restaurant. The bathrooms look like they haven t been cleaned in months, can t imagine what the kitchen looks like. If I could give zero stars, I would. 0/10 The buffet is $40 you mine as well go to one of the other amazing Sushi places in town and get way more for your money. Momo s, Blue Tail, Ozekis, Seki Noodle House, Kaya, Dozo, all 10/10.
This is our last time no longer loyal customers. Not the best place.$38.99 a person plus 3-5 for a drink. First of all Ill start with my husband enjoyed his sashimi very much and his beef teriyaki. Second my chicken items tasted fishy like it was cooked with the fish so seafood allergies please be aware before eating here. my avacado in my sushi rolls were brown and tasted old and the rice was okay little vinegary. I get it it was busy tonight it was Valentins day but when your sever is catering to the two tables with all the boys beside yours is a little rude especially when you had to ask her 4 times for a refill on iced tea and water. I love sushi and Japanese cuisine and so dose my husband and we used live it here but over the last few months its gotten more expensive and less quality. When talked to the manger about it they said then go come back. Okay we wont
We first went to this restaurant 3 years ago and loved it, the food tasted fresh and there were tons of menu items to chose from, the atmosphere was lively and friendly and I couldn t wait to go back to Kelowna to go here again. Unfortunately we went back today and everything seemed different. The servers were cold and showed 0 emotion, the food tasted like it had sat for awhile, although it mostly came fast it came out of order. The place didn t seem very clean and unfortunately it seems to being going in a bad direction. Might give it another shot next time we are back in town.
Food was great.
Servers don t talk at all. They re just sliding the foods we ordered on our table. They didn t even ask us a single question, and they don t smile at all. Foods are good but not that great, fried rice are so oily and they came out late. Deep fried foods have lots of batter and oil. This place doesn t have good customer service at all. Except for one guy who accomodate us when we got there, but after that, everybody else was not nice at all.
Went here for my daughters birthday. Most of the items were okay. Nothing really stood out as great but most things were okay. There were some stand outs that werent great. We got teriyaki beef and the meat was very tough to chew, so we ended up leaving it. The beef short ribs were very fatty(and I like fatty), they just werent tasty. The tuna sashimi tasted like it was just unthawed along with the rare beef slices. But the salmon sashimi was good, my daughter really liked it. There were several items that I enjoyed as well. The service isnt the greatest, they wont give you more than one menu iPad per table. So we all had to converse back and forth trying to find what we wanted and someone always had the pad when someone else wanted to see what else there was. It made figuring out what we wanted to get a long process for all of us. If we asked questions to some of the staff picking up our plates, they couldnt answer our questions. They had to get our server, I assume they either couldnt understand us or couldnt speak English. Even our server didnt know the answers to whether a food item had a specific item in it like chicken or pork. However, our food came out quickly. We ordered a lot at first because we thought it would take forever like the first time we were here and also because it was closer to closing time. Instead it came out fast and we ended having a hard time finishing everything. If you love sashimi or nigri, it is worth it as you can get your moneys worth. Although, the quality of the raw fish was not great. I expect that for all you can eat, just keep it in mind. We liked enough stuff that I feel it would be worth returning for. I also like that they are open later. A lot of restaurants are not open until 10pm in town. We got there at 9pm and still had time to get everything we wanted. It cost us $120 for the 3 of us. (Plus tip) That is only the all you can eat, nothing else. Overall I would say it is a good place to try out all you can eat and see if you find enough things you like. We will be back when we have the money for it. Vegetarian options: There are many options Parking: Easy parking close to the door. No issues Kid-friendliness: I am not sure if they have highchairs but I did not see an issues with kids being there.
I wait more than an HOUR for a simple Tom Yum Soup.EXTREMLY DISSAPOINTED.
Very average, the salmon is the worst quality I have ever eaten, the ingredients are also very poor, and the service is average
Great place, so much selection
I thoroughly enjoy this place every time I m in town!
You could tell everyone was working extra hard around the holidays and putting in their maximum effort. Everything was so delicious, and fast. I am so grateful you guys were open on new years. I hope you all get a well deserved break & happy new year!
Unique and socially entertaining experience.
Was fun using the tablet to order... that was my first time doing that. Staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. Wonderful experience all around.
The food was awesome servers were fast small portions but so many portions you leave very full
Great place for all you can eat. Great variety. Not the highest quality fish & meat, but definitely worth the price. Would love an option to upgrade to wild sockeye salmon but we cant always get what we want . The service is excellent and they do whatever the can to accommodate. We spent my nieces 13th birthday there with about 15 of us and the staff were very professional/friendly and super patient with us. Overall, I recommend this place anytime youre really hungry and want to try different things.
Too glad there is still an all you can eat spot to complain.
Fantastic variety, quality and service. Highly Recommend!
They have terrible customers service!! The waiters are rude, they watch you when you are eating all the time...and the manager was so rude too...we ordered two buffets and individual portions and we were tasting each other foods, then they came to us and told us : you should not eat from the other persons buffet...At the end they charged us for more than two buffets...then they said: you tried others buffets so you should pay for it....Apart from customer service which was the worst in my whole life, they were skipping some of the buffet options.....the quality in some of the foods was not satisfying....It was a terrible experience overall....please please dont waste your money there!!!!
What a great place! They hosted my birthday gathering with 12 people and we were impressed by how tasty everything was and how quickly food was brought out. Thank you to their team!
Vegetarian options: The food was good and atmosphere also polite, service was excellent, our only comment is because the price is exceptionally high only the rich could go. We can only go once a year, in our opinion just a lovely meal should not cost $90 Food
Sit down for a few hours, share some beers with friends and eat till your full. Great place!
Awesome place with red tuna sushi. Cant really beat that. Fish was lovely
YUCK, food was gross, $40 and asking for a damn tip when they give 0 service the mouse in the bathroom was quite a nice touch on top of the garbage that the food was.
This the best AYCE experience Ive had in Canada. You order with an iPad so there are no mistakes. Very classy dining in a place that doesnt feel like AYCE. Theyve got quality Chinese and Japanese dishes that come in small plates. I would be tempted to call it Asian Tapas. The sashimi fish was first class which surprised me being in Kelowna, the butter fish was a dense tasty fatty fish Ive never tried before but was really good. The salmon was nicely marbled and fresh. I didnt like the Albacore too much since it tasted dry. The Chinese dishes like curry fried rice, broccoli beef and noodle dishes were very good. The tempura was exceptional rivaling many fancy places Ive eaten at. Light crunch batter on shrimps, calamari, scallops and sweet potato. The fried milk its unique like a batter covered fried custard. The fried banana and sesame seed rolls were good , but we added mango ice cream to enhance it. Well worth $37. They also have a well provisioned Asian grocery.
Best All-you-can-eat in the town
Great variety.
This place is horrible though it might look fancy the food tastes so artificial I wouldn t recommend for a good dinner the portions are large but the taste is disgusting
All you can eat but it is served and prepared fresh. The ordering system is really very clever. Keep in mind that your food will not come in one set. If you order four or five different things it may arrive on your table at four or five different times. The decor is left over from the previous restaurant. It needs to be refreshed and maintained. I know you dont eat the decor but it makes you worried about what the kitchen looks like.
Went here for the first time the other days with my son and mother .was so excited, been wanting to try forever ..what a disappointment .food was terrible, I don t mind paying for good all you can eat and this was far less than lack lustre, save yourself the 40 per person for something more appealing if you re an like real sushi, so so SO gross.
An incredible place, everything is amazing from food to price. The staff is nice. This place offers a lot of options. Definitely recommend the grilled mussels.
Amazing food. Amazing experience. 10/10 Food : 5/5
To flickering lights, to flies to sub par foods, I won t be returning even if they paid me.
Overall, Tokio presents a decent dining experience, but improvements in service efficiency and maintaining consistent quality across dishes would enhance its appeal further.
Once we caught on to the ordering process, our dining experience just got better and better... were not in Kelowna often, but Ill certainly return to Tokyo 1...
Not sure why the bad reviews. Yes its a little expensive, but the service was amazing, the food was amazing, and everything was so fast. Even grabbed some extras from the attached market on our way out. Also no ads at table asking for good review or offering anything for a good review.
The food used to be really good and so was the service. We did take out when covid hit, and it wasnt good, but we thought wed still give it a chance in house when that was allowed again. Its been 3 times, and thats it. The food quality and service are subpar, and the prices have skyrocketed ($30/person plus tax and tip for lunch is crazy for the quality and poor service). They dont even care about presentation anymore which is sad, it used to be like art. If the food was a good as it used to be, it would be worth it but how many times can you tell them the gyoza are supposed to be hot not room temperature before you realize, they just dont care anymore. Someone is gonna get sick but it wont be us!
Service was friendly, quick, and explained their iPad ordering system well. Food was okay but not anything to write home about. Fun place to stop in if you want to try out the all-you-can-eat system, and there is a nicely stocked Asian market inside as well. The three of us each had the all you can eat lunch menu. Most of the food was fine, aside from the fried items being a little greasy. The Sunomono salad was very strange -- the noodles were under done and the liquid was oddly thick and sweet, tasted like the juice from a can of lychee fruit.
The sashimi was warm and dry, the bills are put with your table number on top of the food. Server was picking the bill out of our food with her bare hands. The iPad ordering was very unique and user friendly. 38/person for dinner all you can eat not worth it with the quality
Airways love this place. Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Staff is always eager to please.
Great food. Real solid buffet. Fast, efficient, kind service. Will absolutely be back.
Great food, nice variety, if you add a smile and better service it would have been 5 star!
Great food at a fair price and great sushi rolls options, and desserts.
Food was mediocre Good price for what you get
Get the pizza and the short ribs first because they take a long time to come out. We had already finished desert before these 2 items showed up, so we thought they had already been forgotten about. Otherwise everything was super tasty. We will be back
Last time we went we had awful food. Its a shame because we used to love this place. Everything was so greasy and the tempura batter was so thick it was inedible. I will concur that they stop sending food. We waited 20 minutes for our last few dishes only to be told wed had enough. Uhh ok....
I can t find anywhere on their website the prices for the Buffett
Great place, good food, especially if you like trying a little bit of everything. Sushi smorg ...Fun for a group that loves variety and a modern way of ordering and environment.
Amazing experience and great food.
