Food was amazing the portions are perfect to split if you don t want leftovers to bring home. Otherwise bring those leftovers home they are not the type to sit in the fridge for a week. Love all the decor very pleasant and very kind waitress all in all I highly recommend.

Omg we did a 45th birthday there today . It couldnt have been a better lunch. Margaritas amazing . We were so caught up in the bday of our friend. We forgot to take photos of the food. We were 5 in party and 3 had never been there . I highly recommend this place both time I been there were amazing . Bang for buck and the most excellent service and food

Food was delicious and portion sizes were fantastic. Recommend the chicken quesadilla (tinga) on the lunch menu. Inside is a bit on the smaller size and with a full restaurant its a bit loud so if youre not into that thing I wouldnt recommend it. However my boyfriend and I dont mind the loudness of a restaurant, it just means other customers are enjoying themselves as well.. so we very much enjoyed it. Service was fast and friendly. Will be going back

We just finished dinner at Hectors this Monday night. So disappointed. They ran out of guacamole at 6:30 pm, the menu was restricted, the meat was super dry, no wine available and no jugs of margaritas. Service was good but the food bland and dry and partially burnt.

Disappointed in their service, they apparently don t know how to make a quesadilla toasty or well done and won t even entertain a request and they attitude is that they really don t care to come take your order, lol not coming back

We met friends for dinner at Hectors Casa and were delighted with the food ( taste, display and quantity) Place was busy, but everyone having a good time. We had snapper fish (excellent choice), enchiladas verdes and enchiladas mole. The server was really busy but checked in with us a number of times. Definitely recommend and will be going back!

We ve been coming to Hector s since it opened. Even since I ve moved away from Kelowna we are always sure to come and eat here multiple times when I m home. This year we made reservations for my birthday and the experience was not a positive one. We were shoved into a corner and completely surrounded by tables so neither my mother or I could get out to use the washroom. The food was mediocre but no one came to check on us to ask. When we did complain to the server she laughed it off and didn t offer to get the manager. Honestly, Hector s used to be the place we d come to and feel like family. After years and years of making Hector s a priority we will not be coming back. 2023 Update: Hector s is back to its old glory after a change in management and I had to update my review to reflect. Excellent food that both stays true to the original Hector s in most ways and improves in others. Wonderful warm service. We come back every time we re in Kelowna.

I went to the new location in South Kelowna, and I tried the chimichangas. The place looks amazing and I really liked the food, I eat out a couple times a week and its nice to have a place just serving legit food that I want. Kid-friendliness: nice soda pop collection with real cane sugar, Jarritos and I saw bottled Coka-Cola which is nice too

My sugar mama brought me out for a beautiful meal and boy was I excited. Close your eyes you ll honestly think you re in Mexico and then when you open your eyes you are because the scenery and everything is so great I want to start eating and drooling and just being one with the food .. there is no comparison would give more stars

Horrible experience here. Terrible service starting at the door. Extremely rude waiter and manager. Food below average and over priced. I miss the Real Hectors. This replacement is horrible! They shouldn t be allowed to used Hectors name!

A place with a beautiful decoration, taking care of every detail, spectacular mural with Mexican details. We were greeted and served right away. They also tried to make it easy for us all to understand each other through the language. The most recommended would be the lemon margaritas

Came here in Kelowna. Small hole in the wall but the food is tasty!! Feels like Im back in my aunts kitchen. Fish tacos are amazing. Ceviche is lovely! Well freaking done Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options. Not a lot, but youll want to eat meat after this place. Parking: Lots of parking; can park across the street and walk over. Kid-friendliness: Restaurant is a bit smokey, but any good Latin-American restaurant will give you authentic food made with love.

Outstanding food off a limited menu that focuses on key Mexican items. The mole sauce is excellent and has a bit of a kick. Fajitas well prepared and presented. Quesadillas are nicely done (though needs a side dish). Tacos delicious Our server was delightful and efficient. Prices a bit premium but worth it. Nice inside decorations and some outside seating. Thumbs up for those who enjoy Mexican food. A bit of sticker shock if contemplating a Margarita.

We attended last night, we didn t make a reservation however they were able to accommodate us. Tables are close together and the atmosphere is busy and a bit on the louder side. The waitress was very attentive. The food was disappointing, we ordered homemade chips and salsa, the salsa lacked flavour, although all the dishes are garnished and presented well it s the taste of the food that should grab your attention in one bite. I ordered the chili rilenios which was no good. The chili should be stuffed with cheese then dipped in an egg wash, battered and should be hot when you get it. The lump on my plate was room temperature, the chili was the size of my index finger when I sawed into the dish, no cheese, it was like eating a deflated balloon wrapped in over breading. The smear of beans as a garnish was underwhelming and the rice which I think was to be Spanish rice was tasteless. My husband said the portion was lacking and he left hungry from what he ordered. The prices are above what they should be. I am not sure what the hype is about this place because it was very disappointing.

Today we arrived around 7pm trying to get a table for 8 people, the staff told us that everything was full but in the area inside the restaurant everything was empty, we left and after half an hour we passed by outside and it was still without being busy we were totally confused since it was our first time in that place and surprised since without being busy they decided not to serve us.

All good food except my husband got the beef quesade as there was no chicken option listed. It was not good , meat really tough. He didnt say anything because we were with new friends. He was disappointed with the meal as it was also $23 for a bad meal. I do really love the patio though.

A visit to Kelowna should include a meal at Hectors. The rear patio is cozy and comfortable. The service is great (Ive never seen so many people work at such a small space). The staff are engaging and friendly. The food arrives quickly and has excellent flavours.

A great place to bring my wife when she is feeling a little home sick

Never in my life I received such an unpleasant, uncomfortable and totally inappropriate service. From the moment I arrived with my partner and our dog to ask if we could sit outside to our orders being taken and lastly the delivery of our bill. Besides the food that was very bland and unimpressive, the waiter had a bad attitude at all times. When our dog went through the fence to guard herself from the blazing sun (during our meal), another staff member came out to say she couldnt be there. There and then that wasnt much we could do as we were about to finish our meal and had our hands literally full of food. To put the cherry on top, without even asking for the bill, it simply arrived to our table delivered by an angered staff member who left it with a paying machine...the whole situation just got way out of hand when this same impolite person returned arguing with us about the dog situation as if that was a reason to be an a&$hole. He claimed to be the owner of the place, which I doubt. 0 manners, NO interpersonal skills and HORRIBLE customer service.

Words and reviews only go so far, you must experience this place for yourself. Food was so good, and portions more then plenty. Prices were beyond reasonable, service was impeccable, and prompt. Truly a hidden gem, with the most amazing rear dining courtyard!

The patio is beautifully themed and has enough cover from the heat to be enjoyable. We ordered the vegetarian burrito grande and it was so delicious. It hit the spot after a disappointing weekend of sub-par, over-priced food at other restaurants. The servers were Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Each item can be made vegetarian i.e. tacos, burritos, enchilada s, etc

We just moved to Kelowna and missed great Mexican food. This place doesn t disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. I had a strawberry margarita and the grande burrito. So delicious. We will most definitely be back many times.

Our meal and atmosphere on the back patio of this restaurant was excellent. However, the service was extremely poor. Very slow. No one came to take our drink orders. When they finally came to ask for our meal orders, we then got to order drinks. When the meals came...we had asked for an extra plate as we like to share. We never saw the waiter again until after we finished our meal. (The extra plate never came). Not once did he check how everything was or if anything was needed. At that point we ordered churros AND the bill as we now needed to leave asap. The bill never came with dessert as requested. Worst churros Ive ever had. Overcooked and over sugared. The ice cream was old (it had frozen ice chunks in it) and they give you basic chocolate syrup . Ive had churros 10 times better at an another establishment. I had to once again ask for the bill and wait too long for it. Not sure I will ever go back. I saw other people waiting a while to get their bills as well and seeing how the service was is why we asked for our bill early...as we needed to leave.

Warning: NOT Gluten Free. If you have a sensitivity, you will probably be fine. However, for anyone with allergies like Celiac Disease, do NOT eat here. The menu says that 50% of their menu is GF, but when you ask they reveal that it s not gluten free, only gluten sensitive. I understand that cross contamination can occur at almost any establishment, even when staff are being cautious. However, when your menu specifically says that a dish is Gluten Free, you cannot deep fry it with another food which isn t GF. If the food is Gluten Sensitive, then advertise it as such. But it is unacceptable to advertise it as gluten free when it s not. Dietary restrictions: NOT Gluten Free. Only Gluten Sensitive.

Fantastic. The recent renos are a nice touch but its still a low-key casual spot for great mexican food. Might seem on the pricier side for the uninitiated, however its well-earned. Dishes very well prepared, staff is friendly and hardworking. Never regretted a dinner out here and will be back soon. Prefer the back patio when the weather is nice.

Cute spot, but thats where it ends. I ordered the chimichanga that turned out to be a dry burnt tortilla rolled up and cut into 6 small pieces with no filling (literally nothing) and missing the sauce as described on the menu. Sides were dry and lacked any flavor. Service wasnt any better, saw another couple complain and leave because of slow service..really terrible overall. I am genuinely surprised by the amount of positive reviews...I would not recommend.

It was gross! Hair in my food, and i was a bit ill after. It wasnt even good Mexican. The margaritas arent very go, nothing we ordered was any good in our experience and it was expensive.

Absolutely best on cheladas I have had in a very long time and the fried banana with ice cream for dessert was totally worth needing a crane to lift us out of our table when we were done LOL!! All the staff are Spanish-speaking by the way so if you want to test your Spanish this is the place!! I was thoroughly impressed!!

I will say that the ONLY downside was the people at the only other table talking loudly enough we could follow the whole Conversation hehe But the food was absolutely amazing, tons of flavour, the meat was super moist And juicy and I ordered an americano coffee that tasted like GOLD. They use a local Coffee brand And it was lovely. The men there are soooo kind and it was some of the best pico de gallo I have ever had. Will 100% go again. I live in Vernon and do not care for the authentic Mexican restaurant here so it s def worth the drive for flavour
