Donair is decent enough but their poutine is one of the best!

Unfortunately does not deserve a good review. Staff were friendly, but the food was very much below par. Meat was served out of a bucket, meaning the kebab was cold, overpriced and small for the money. If you are from the UK and reading this, dont expect a standard UK style giant kebab, you will be disappointed.

I order from here few times a month on door dash and almost ever time the done give me a special sauce dip with my spicy Fries so I started paying for extra sauce and last 2 time they didnt give and side sauce not one I paid for or the one that should come with it and I dont really care for the fries with out so to garbe they go they need to start checking there orders before sending out cu soon I will stop ordering from there

I eat here regularly, the staff are always friendly and professional, make the food quickly and it s always great! Highly recommend the spicy fries or the beef donairs with extra beef, and the secret sauce is a must try. Priced slightly higher than average fast food but you really do get what you pay for in terms of quality/freshness.

Closed 30min earlier than they were supposed to

First few times I went here the donair was actually pretty good but the last few times I ve been it s been one of the worst donairs I ve ever had! The meat is dry and sitting in a heating tray for god knows how long. Veggies are sad too. Last but not least the girl working there, which is clearly a child and wasn t taught manners or respect because ever question asked to her is answered back with sarcasm and rudeness as if she hates her life and job, we ll not my problem! Maybe hire a new face of your company if you cared about business for said company fyi smh such a sad place, absolutely do not recommend.

I got nothing. Was very hungry and was wanting a donair. I did my research via Google and saw Subcity Donair. As I was only 5 minutes away and it was only 8:10 I thought why not, they close at 9. Got to the restaurant by 8:15 and was told by the staff they were in fact closed. Not overly happy that this happened as I was very much looking forward to having one of their highly rated donairs. To the owner this is highly unacceptable and should not be tolerated. If you are going to post hours dont close 45 minutes early. I am her husband and my name is Wade.

Cannot have worse things to say about this place from the attitude filled staff who will argue with you over their mistakes, terrible dry overpriced donairs and constantly messing up orders 4/5 times we have ordered with 0 remorse there could not possibly be a worse donair spot. Originally from Edmonton I have eaten at LOTS of different donair spots and will say subcity is by far in the top 3 worst. I could go on for hours about issues with this place including what seemed to be the owner swearing and talking up quite the brag game about how he s the boss and can reign hell on any location whenever he wants to while we sat and waited while the other guy smoked in the back room half hanging out the back door with all the smoke blowing back in. I wish I could leave negative stars.

Got a falafel from them with hardly any falafel in it. The dude making the sandwich had the audacity to put a couple of falafel pieces in my sandwich and then proceed to press on them to make them look like more right before my eyes. Why act so cheap when youre charging $15 for a sandwich.

Food was really good. The only way to pay was cash, idk if their machine was down or thats the case everyday. We dined in but couldnt sit there for long cuz of the smell (burnt oil).

Just ad good as it was a decade ago. First time Ive been back since they were up by orchard park and the food is just as good as it was back in the day. Beef cooked perfectly and the selection of veggies and sauces is amazing. Prime quality lunch destination.

Pretty good falafel donairs and the service is usually friendly. I make a point of going here once in a while. Everyone loves their decadent, crispy fries. I only wish they had more interesting veggie toppings for the donairs and something less sugary to drink.

Veggie donair is always good. Veggie are always fresh. Spicy fries are awesome. So is the secret sauce. Only complaint is if its a busy time of day and you order anything like fries or onion rings you will have to wait as they have a small single fryer.

Subcity donair is greatest donair in world. Basha donair is not anywhere near the quality of the subcity.

Tried a few donair places lately. Gotta say this one was the best. The food was fresh and the fries are hands down the best in town. Really friendly staff. Overall was a great experience not like basha donair where I was given terrible service and low quality food.

Though the donair they serve is very filling and delicious, the staff in the outlet ruins it. Me and my friends visited the outlet today evening and for some reason, the lady at the counter didnt really want us there and making faces when we were going through our order.

I normally love the donair poutine and think its the best poutine in town, but I ordered one from Skip the Dishes and it sucked. There were hardly any fries at all, the toppings were scarce, and there was barely any tzatziki. Nothing but great experiences in person, it feels like they dont give a damn if youre not right in front of them.

Have never been so incredibly dissapointed about a food item in my life. No basic garlic sauce, no hummus, no pickled turnips, and was made with all the chicken alone at the bottom with all the veggies on top. It made me so homesick for a descent shawarma. Would never go back again for a sandwich. The fries were really good....not garlic potatoes but still good. The staff was really friendly and the place was clean, So feel a little bad about giving a bad review..but so dissapointing. Even the chicken was seasoned strangely and was very dry. Definelty not arabic. Felt like going to pita pit, nothing really special. The special sauce just tastes like honey mustard. It was all just strange. I also found it to be pretty expensive, in Ottawa you get a refular shawarma (beef or chicken) , garlic potatoes and a drink for 8$. I know Kelowna is more expensive in general....but still.

I am honestly baffled as to why people actually enjoy the donairs here. They are not donairs. The meat is completely bland - tasting like the inside of a Superstore Rotisserie chicken. I am pretty sure the shawarma spit is just there for decoration. In addition, the donairs are totally lacking in the donair essentials, such as proper garlic sauce, hummus, tabouli, roasted potatoes, etc. The wrap I got was just a soggy, drippy, and tasteless mess. I still gave Subcity Donair another chance after that, but sadly my second experience here was just as terrible. It honestly is more suitable to describe the donairs here as a Subway sandwich. Subcity Donair really gives donairs everywhere a bad name. There are way better donairs out in the world, please do not think all donairs taste like this.

This used to be the best subcity in town. Im not sure if they sold the location. But my last few visits during the evening have been met with sloppy, oversauced donairs with very soggy lifeless veggies. PLEASE GET BACK TO WHAT YOU ONCE WERE. Aka the BEST donair in town.

The food was great. The service was quick and the staff friendly. The only downside is price. It is by far the most expensive fast food weve ever experienced as a young family of 4!! We probably wont ever return for that reason alone unfortunately.

Back in the early 90s my mom moved from New Brunswick and brought with her the sweet sauce recipe. When the brothers opened a subcity out here, my mom had to have her perfect donair, so she shared the secret with these guys. It is awesome to see this store maintain the delectable quality since I was a little girl - seasoned meat, carved as you watch, put on a pita, covered in cheese, with a thick layer of sweet sauce, and all the fresh vegis....mmmm...

Hands down best Poutine I have ever had.

Our meal here was supremely disappointing. We ordered a jumbo donair that was pretty small, the meat was from a warming container and was dry and the pita was hard. They also charged us extra for a bottle deposit, I have never seen a restaurant charge extra for bottle deposit. I dont know if sub city donair is a franchise or single owner but I wont eat at this location again.
