Really good restaurant. Very good food!

Exquisite menu & top notch service.

Took a client for dinner here. Had one waitress handling 6 tables, service was slow. Plus parking was tough to find. Keep that in kind when you eat here.

Mediocre at best. I had expected more. They had the same menu as every other restaurant in Kelowna (Charcuterie board, steak, lamb, duck, fish). Almost seems like they want to cover every protein. The food was ok. Should have been better though, given how they portray themselves. We thought the portions were large, but quality for everything they served (including dessert) was poor. On the other hand, we expected a more comprehensive wine list. This play is ok for a neighborhoods bistro, but certainly lot for anything more

Waterfront Restaurant & Wine Bar on Sunset Dr serves up amazing food. A truly international quality in a comfortable casual atmosphere. We had the most delicious meal. The food was amazing and best of all the preparations were of a caliber, an imagination, and a flavour combination that we simply would not make at home. A restaurant worth every penny we spent.

This restaurant is top notch. From mouth watering, carefully crafted food to perfect wine pairings and everything in between. Trust me, get a starter, add the sides and you will need extra bread and butter with your mains because the sauces are that good you don t want anything left behind. What an experience, thank you!

Very disappointed New Years dinner, staff was friendly and kind, but the 5 piece dinner was terrible at best. The portions were tiny and two out of the five were worth having. It felt like that the kitchen was preparing the food and it just sat there until you were finished your course and then brought luke warm to your table. The beef in particular was luke warm and tiny and i mentioned it to the server when he asked if i enjoyed it - didnt really apologize but just asked if i wanted a replacement portion. Since this dinner other friends who had been here before and also at NY eve said it was the worse ever at the waterfront. I think Red Robin tasted better and fresher at 20 percent of the price. My friend (who made the reservation) replied to their email about how we liked the dinner and got no response. I expected a lot lot better, especially at that price. Shame on you Waterfront

My favourite so far in Kelowna. The chef is very talented and his dishes are as fresh and lively in ingredient as they are in recipe. Lovely experience with the staff and ambience!

Being a restaurant owner myself, I would not recommend this restaurant! We had a reservation and had to cancel due two people in our party getting sun stroke, and after pleading our situation to the restaurant they still charged my credit card $20.00 a person. We would have gladly rebooked for another night, but now we will not and will tell everyone we talk to avoid this restaurant! For the record, we had to also cancel a reso at Cactus Club for later in the evening and had NO problem at all. Go to Cactus Club, they understand guest service!

This is the best restaurant in Kelowna and it has been for a long time. If didn t know, now you know. If you disagree, you are wrong. The staff are always great, our server, Genevieve (probably butchered the spelling sry), is/was amazing.

Waterfront Wines is our favourite restaurant. The food is always exceptional and the service is top notch. They always make celebrating any occasion feel special and we are lucky to have this elevated food experience here in Kelowna.

I ve been to Kelowna a few times and can t believe this is my first time here, will definitely be adding it to the rotation! Came here on recommendation from Tantalus and so happy we did!! Our waiter / bartender Shane was outstanding - great service and pairings really have a way of making a place. Even some of the chefs / back of house we got to speak with were super friendly. The food, drinks, and wine were incredible. It felt like being in your amazing chef friends house and enjoying a meal. 12/10!!

The absolute worst experience ever! I would never recommend this restaurant to anybody. The manager was so rude and the staff were taking down to me and my daughter. I showed up for my reservation and they have informed me that they don t except 16th years old witch I understood and canceled my reservation on the spot , to find out the second day that they have charged me for a no show . I call the restaurant and the manager was absolutely rude and dismissive and hang up on me . I would never dine in a restaurant that s run by a staff that they are so unconcerned about guest experience.

Lovely atmosphere, classy place. Fantastic service, servers are experienced and professional, staff in open kitchen exude confidence. My meal was very enjoyable, perfectly sized portion and ingredient ratios to feel full without over-eating. Definitely a spot to return to!

From start to finish, my meal was thoughtful and satiatingly delicious. I started with a Mr. Miyagi cocktail. A great take on an old fashioned. Snack: olives Starter: grilled octopus Main: sablefish Dessert: rhubarb with rhubarb with cheesecake and rhubarb :) I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. To be honest, I found this meal to be substantially better than my set menu meal at one of the popular wineries earlier in the week. Also, it was cheaper! I didnt photograph much as I was too excited to eat. Plus, my photos are terrible. Im still thinking of the dessert. Chef and the kitchen did a great job! Thank you. Service was attentive and on the ball with refilling water and checking-in. Cant wait to eat here again... next time Ill have try the tapas and risotto.

Best Espresso Martini in the city! The food is amazing.

The chef here is exceptional. The lamb had several different sauces, all matching well, and with lots of depth and tasted high quality. Fluffy polenta chunks were creative and done very well. The cream of mushroom soup was spot on. Foie gras perfectly blended and not too rich. Even the crostini were warmed to-order and clearly homemade - no cheap fillers detected. The local wine list is great. I m so glad I had dinner here, it was well worth the $100.

Lamb was so salty, wife s scallops far of seared. I was told by a friend not to come it s not the same and sure enough was a real disappointment from what this place was last year. Drinks where great as well as the service but was looking for a good meal.

We shared a mushroom and steelhead risotto to start, adding scallops. Cooked to perfection and very flavourful. Glad we shared. It was good for two! For entrees, my partner had sablefish. Again, cooked very well, and the skin crisped beautifully. I had the signature flat iron steak, medium rare and sliced on top of very, very buttery and creamy mashed potatoes, and seasonal veg. Skipped dessert, as we were now quite stuffed! Great value for the food we ate

The two of us spontaneously went to dinner at the Waterfront last night and were so positively surprised. Service and kitchen just WOW. Price performance is also great. The highlight when we said we were from Germany and the chef came to the table and spoke to us in German was just super cooooool. We can only recommend this restaurant!!!

Third round at Waterfront Wines, and the kitchen continues to sing steelhead risotto and seared scallops that flirt with perfection, and a Cabernet Franc thats pure poetry. Imagine a cozy dinner party with close friends thats the vibe. But this celebration had its hiccups. Despite the heads-up about my birthday and a couple of nudges, the server seemed more interested in giving us the boot by 7:30 than making the night special.For claritys sake, we were gone by 6:50 pm, but an establishment of this caliber should not be marred by such discordant service. Then theres Charlene at the bar a virtuoso in the art of unnecessary attitude. We called ahead to ask about shifting our reservation, and the man acted like wed asked him to recite War and Peace. Busy as he claimed to be, he still found the time to relay his displeasure to our already checked-out server. So heres the wisdom: come for the culinary love affair, nurse a glass of heavenly wine, but be prepared for service thats hit or miss. If youre celebrating something well, maybe save the big moments for another night.

The restaurant is only recommended! The food was excellent, the staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. If you are looking for an exclusive restaurant in Kelowna, this is the right place! :)

Fantastic restaurant. The chef and team clearly love food. Great dishes that far surpass good by Kelowna measures. If youve ever dined in large, urban, diverse, global cities you will appreciate dining here. Wines were great across the board. Our server was top notch. Highly recommend if you are more of a foodie or just appreciate finer (but not snooty) cuisine. Pricing reflects the quality and IMHO is very worth the price. Atmosphere is still semi-casual, but thats Kelowna for you.

I came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and as part of a girls trip. During our stay in Kelowna this was by far the best meal weve had. The restaurant put together a five-course menu designed for us, with perfect wine pairings. From tuna to prawn, and duck to venison, each morsel was delightfully balanced in taste and texture. The chef also paired each course with an outstanding local wine. The service was perfect, the chef even came out to greet us personally. Truly memorable, thank you, Waterfront staff.

Very delicious dinner and great experience. Definitely for those special occasions and not a monthly dining place - well unless you rich lol Did a group dining and I would absolutely recommend this place for such. Had a set menu with a few choices per course. The timing of the food was spot on so compliments to the wait staff and chefs. Booking and coordination of group booking was extremely pleasant with staff super prompt on updates etc. Highly appreciated. Drinks were top notch as well.

A++ 10/10 experience like always. This place is a gem - service is reliable and food is consistently great. Went here tonight with 2 friends who had never been. I can guarantee they ll be back. Cocktails are great (the espresso martini!), wine is delish, and food was incredible (carpaccio, foie gras, angus steak, literally the best mashed potatoes, lemon cheesecake I mean - come on!) We were lucky to have Shar as our server - always on point. With all the chain restaurants popping up, we re very fortunate to have Waterfront Wines in downtown Kelowna.

A place Id definitely come back to. Great food, great wine and a very good selection too. They have a partition wall that really makes it feel intimate and even though the restaurant was full it wasnt loud. Service was great too. All around a delightful place. I highly recommend checking it out.

Our server was fantastic! She was friendly, professional, and helpful offering a couple of out of towners some good wineries to check out. The Elk special was amazing the service was fantastic. The décor of the space was beautiful. We will be back :)

We ate here last weekend as a party of 4. This was by chance as the place I regularity frequent was booked. What a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, we had appies, a main and dessert. They even find a way to uplevel the drinks! The Manager Charlene is so nice, our waiter who s name I can t remember despite being told many times was excellent and even the chef Mark came over to say hello. They just make you feel special and appreciated all night. This is my new favorite in Kelowna. Thanks Waterfront Wines. I highly recommend this place!

Best restaurant in Kelowna! The service is amazing- very professional wait staff who know how to make your experience more than just eating out. The food is amazing and so consistent. Wine and cheese lists amazing. They use as much local as possible and make so much in house like the crackers and crustinis/bread. Amazed every time we come here and will be back many times.

Had a romantic dinner, food was delicious! Highly recommend, great service as well! Started with Foie Gras and a scallop/crab cake, mmmm. Then I had the starter risotto and added scallops, another YUM! My husband had the steelhead trout, and that sauce pushed it over the epic edge. Wow! Ended with a cheese plate, so François!

Been wanting to go here for quite some time and finally made it. Great decor inside even better patio out. Service couldnt have been any better. The food was great. Started with foie gras and a scallop and crab cake. My wife had risotto with scallops, I went with the seared steelhead. We finished our meal with a cheese plate. Excellent wine selection. A hidden gem and a great surprise. Food is great and staff very friendly. They were able to accommodate us without reservation on a busy day. I wish I could enjoy the patio, but this was on me for not planing ahead of my visit.

We had a wonderful and delicious dinner at the Waterfront. We come to Kelowna at the end of July each year and it is one of our go to restaurants! We ate there last night and our waiter Ishwin remembered serving us a year ago! We were greeted as well by Charlene who has served us in the past. The servers are friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will return next summer!

Amazing food and cocktails! Admittedly we came here in ~ 2015 and we were a bit disappointed with the food (cocktails have never disappointed). Recently got a gift card here, have been back twice and the food was SO good! Would highly recommend!

Excellent food from the Tuna appetizer to the Ol fashioned to finish off the evening. Great staff service, they work as a team and it is very noticeable. Jill did a fantastic job with her recommendations. We will be back.

Waterfront Wines is always on our dining list when we visit Kelowna. Food, drinks, and service are wonderful. Majority of the menu items can be modified if you have allergies. I am Celiac and have a nut allergy and can enjoy the full menu just like anyone else. Highly recommend!

Amazing food in Kelowna

Scam alert! I had booked a reservation at this restaurant. I phoned in and cancelled my reservation as I was not able to make it on time. The hostess told me it s cancelled, never mentioning any penalties or charges. I noticed an 80$ charge on my visa. I phoned and could not get through the restaurant on multiple occasions, so I reached out to the manager through email. She declined phoning me. She first told me I had not cancelled the reservation and that s why I had been charged. I then forwarded my confirmed cancelation report from Open table and she confirmed that she has cross referenced my phone number and I had cancelled the reservation. She still refused to reverse the fee. I understand the restaurant business is struggling, but taking money from patrons that reach out and cancel and blaming lack of training of their hostess enough to make me never go back or recommend this restaurant. Unprofessional.

We ve always had such great experiences here. Honestly, this is the best restaurant in Kelowna. The service and food is great. The servers know what they re talking about when it comes to the wine. Yes it s expensive (especially if you re having drinks), but it s so worth it for a treat or an occasion. My partner always gets the steak, it s his favourite in town. I always get something different and it never disappoints. Make sure you book ahead as it s hard to get walk in. All nice restaurants in Kelowna are like this*

This place has absolutely amazing food. Our waitress was amazing. However the lady at the bar is so incredibly loud it was annoying and we didn t wanna stay longer. She was talking on the phone and we could hear the drama from our table. It s disappointing to not be able to have a conversation at our table with each other due to her. Not sure if she s the manager or not but she s extremely rude.

Had a 5 course meal for a special occasion and every course was delicious, as with every multi course meal I wish there was more of every dish.

Great flavors and well executed dishes plus the wine list is amazing! We had a really nice experience there, well yes its pricy but it doesnt bother me because you can totally taste the quality of the products and the complexity of the components of the dishes. The wine list is offering a large selection of wines from all over Canada and even abroad wines, so yep totally worth the visit. The owner is super humble and he is accompanied by his very talented team. Service is attentive and welcoming. Loved this place, recommend to book ahead as the restaurant isnt big. We love this small, special spot. The service at the bar from Ashley and Shane was perfect - engaging, attentive and lovely. The food is so good. We went on Friday, and rebooked for Thursday. Were newish to Kelowna, and so far, this is our favorite nice restaurant.

This is my favourite restaurant in the Kelowna area (aside from the occasional custom menu at certain wine resorts). The service standards here are excellent. Well informed, knowledgable, and intuitive. The food is also exceptional, not only for the Kelowna area, but in Western Canada. Some dishes more than others. If youre in the area, I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially if youre a foody. Great cocktails and wines as well.

My family and I take great enjoyment in good food. From Calgary to Vancouver, to many various destinations around the Okanagan we thoroughly enjoying exploring the culinary excellence these regions have to offer. That being said, Waterfront Wines Restaurant is bar none, by far, the single most excellent dining establishment I and any member of my family has ever had the privilege to eat at. The level of service is second to none. Shane, Char, and team provide an absolutely phenomenal dining atmosphere that makes us feel both at home whilst also the most important people in the restaurant. Their care and attention to detail is unparalleled and allows for an exquisite experience from the moment you walk in the door. The sheer thought, care, and quality of food of every dish that exits the kitchen is flabbergasting. Every time I have been there has been the best meal of my entire life. I again want to stress that from a family of foodies I feel I have a good grasp on what constitutes a great meal, and Waterfront Wines Restaurant and team blows my expectations out of the water each and every visit. The ingenuity of flavour and enjoyability of the dishes they offer cannot be matched. James, Mark and the rest of the skilled kitchen team offers a level of culinary perfection that keeps us coming back time and time again for birthdays, anniversaries, and any possible excuse we can think of to get ourselves in the door. If you are looking for the easily the best dinner in Kelowna, almost certainly the best dinner in BC, and very likely the best dinner in western Canada, look no further. Waterfront Wines Restaurant is the place for you. Honestly if you have the option to come here and you choose anywhere else you are doing yourself a grave disservice. I look forward to the many occasions to come where I will find myself in this restaurant. I will continue to provide glowing recommendations for this restaurant to anyone who will listen and I hope that if you took the time to read this review it has convinced you that this should be your obvious choice for any dining occasion.

Just enjoyed takeout from their Dine Around Thompson Okanagan menu. The Ajitsuke sablefish filet with Salt Spring Island mussels is divine. The soy and ginger sauce expertly finished this flavourful plate. I love to support locally owned restaurants and this one is at the top of my favourites list.

Waterfront wines is always a treat, only been here a couple times though because they dont allow children and its been a bit hard to get out for the last year. Be prepared to spend a bit more, the 3 course meal was $55 per person, definitely worth it though, my wife and I were both very impressed with our meals.

What a great meal that was! My wife and I couldnt decide on which starters to get as they all looked so good. So we decided on getting the charcuterie board (with some added cheese), potted foie gras, Wagyu tartare, and risotto with scallops for dinner. Everything was fantastic! The amount of food on the board was very generous and it all tasted great! The foie gras was very decadent! The tartare and risotto... YUM! Our server, Jill, was super friendly and very helpful in making suggestions. Overall, we thought Waterfront was just phenomenal and we look forward to coming back soon!

Incredible! We had a wonderful experience. The service and the food were top notch. The seafood was a highlight - their scallops were huge and cooked to perfection. Arctic char and halibut were amazing. I have nothing but great things to say.

Waterfront Wines doesn t disappoint in terms of food quality and wine selection. Unfortunately our server, Ishwin, was completely absent for the duration of our main course after taking the better part of an hour after arriving to bring out our salad. Other servers took note and picked up the slack. When we commented that he had been MIA for a long time, he gave a flimsy excuse that his other table asked a complicated question (as if that should impact our experience or warrants us having to pour our own wine). We will definitely plan to be back, but not as long as Ishwin works there!

All I can say is the server was amazing. He was so attentive to our table and my many allergies. The chef even was able to take some of the beef tartare and make it without egg. I was so surprised because I never asked for it but they were so kind to separate and plate it just for me. The food was also very delicious! Definitely will come back purely on how awesome the service was.

The reviews of this place are excellent but I m hard pressed to find why. The food was mediocre at best and service is a huge question mark. We didn t have a dedicated server to our table, we had multiple servers pop in throughout the night that clearly didn t talk to each other. We ordered a bottle of wine and were trying to enjoy a nice night but the speed of which things were coming out indicated the staff wanted us out as soon as possible. When we finished dinner, despite having a bottle of wine 75% full, we were asked if we wanted dessert or the bill, which is a commentary on the upscale atmosphere this place is failing to cater to. Once we finished our mains, our waiter came back approximately zero times before we had to ask for a cheque. The food was not up to par (the halibut was so heavily salted) for the price tag, and I would not recommend it to anyone visiting Kelowna. Also the wine we ordered, granted it s not this restaurants fault, tasted like cider.

Went for dinner last night with the girls and had an awesome time ! Our server Ishwin (hope I m spelling that right, so sorry if not) was amazing !!! He suggested a great champagne to go with the delicious duck. Can t wait for the next girls night there, hopefully Ishwin s working again too

Not much of a view (unlike what the name would suggest), but it was our best meal in Kelowna and the service was superb. Highly recommended!

Had a phenomenal dining experience at Waterfront Wines for my birthday!! We ordered a charcuterie board, apricot salad, wagyu tartare, risotto with seared scallops, and roasted duck breast and crispy confit thigh. Everything was beautifully presented and the food was delectable. Looking forward to visiting Kelowna and dining here again!

Tried booking a table here and the person on the phone was extremely rude, condescending and arrogant. Did not sound like she wanted our business and did not try to accommodate. I really hope management reconsiders who they hire to represent their business.

had a great meal but was absolutely heartbroken to find out that this restaurant doesn t honor medical exemptions for masks what s worse is i had to put a mask on my face for 1.5 seconds from the front door to my table even worse the server didn t acknowledge how archaic this was, i believe her name was geniveive. we ve clearly entered the twilight zone with masks at restaurants and it s incredibly sad food was 7/10

Ambience was great. Server was top notch. Food, was good, but more of a standard flare. The sable fish was the highlight for us. Perfectly cooked. Overall, it was a fine experience.

I Have a medical mask exemption. Was told at the door, they don t accept exemptions when we already made a reservation days before. Would have been nice to know before we actually showed up for our reservation and had planned our evening.

Booked an anniversary dinner here and unfortunately didnt have the best experience. The hostess was not very friendly, and our server messed up my husbands Wagyu steak order. To fix it they just took it back and re cooked the same piece of meat for longer. My meal was great, but he was left sitting there watching me eat when it was supposed to be a romantic evening. I understand mistakes happen and I hate to compare to a chain restaurant, but if this was Cactus, his meal would have been comped or at least a discount or free drink or something would have been given to maybe make up for it. There was no such thing and also Zero mention of our anniversary which I had included in the reservation notes. Disappointing because this was the location of our first date and we have loved coming here before, but not sure well be back.

First time going to waterfront wines. Everything on the menu looked so good we ckukdnt choose. So with some advance notice Sharleen and Chef Mark came up with a custom tasting menu paired with wine. Incredible food, service and value. Great evening and thank you everyone that helped put it together

Really good food! I got the vegan ragu, which was surprisingly delicious and hearty. The portions are quite large compared to what I have gotten from other restaurants of similar quality, so definitely come with an empty stomach! I would recommend getting some of their cheese selections; we ordered the black truffle gouda and it was amazing! So its a nice way to try different cheese, especially from local producers!

The food was good and the service was good also...however 1 stars due to their covid plan. Plan is a bad word. More like...its as if they didnt know covid19 was a thing. No facemasks on any cooks, servers, bartenders, no one. The staff consistently came way too close...as in...right in your personal space. I get that they have to deliver plates but they dont need to linger or stand that close whe explaining things or taking orders. Overall i was impressed with the food, their food and drink knowledge, and the service, but am extremely disappointed by the fact they didnt follow any of the required covid rules nor had to respect to protect their customers from possible transmission.

Dined there last week in the midst of the outbreak in the downtown core. The servers didn t wear masks and when we asked about the protocols, our server was defensive. She said the Okanagan hadn t had too many cases. She then indicated that she would be the only one serving our table as part of the protocol. Then when our entrees were served others were bringing out food to the table. She stood very close to us and our group was uncomfortable. I ve dined out a lot, and I found this restaurant was by far the most uncomfortable I felt. The table next to us spilled their wine and one of my friends was hit by the splash- which makes me think the tables were not sufficiently spaced out. The meal itself was fine- but the lack of social distancing made for an uncomfortable evening.

Great service, a little pricey but most dishes delivered on flavour! Good wine/ cocktail list as well!

The service was good but the arrangement of poor charcuterie, under-seasoned, bland flavours were a disappointment for the price point that comes along with their dishes. I had the Flat iron angus that was pair with a completely uneventful Bordelaise, paired with the Halibut Fillet and somehow they managed to make the tomato saffron broth taste like something out of a watered down Campbell soup can. Would love to see some actual artistry out of this kitchen as the establishment has a wonderful atmosphere, then again this just might be my two cents.

We had a delightful dinner, everything was fresh and tasty. The charcuterie board with the in-house cured meat was delicious! The service was also very good! Absolutely worth the price as everything is high quality!

We travel to Kelowna once a year, from Victoria. We ALWAYS go to Waterfront Wines for one special dinner during our trip- and last night was that night! We started with some brilliant in-house made kimchi and pickled vegetables, followed by the steak, and finished with a hazelnut chocolate cake, and strawberry chocolate bomb, all accompanied by a beautiful bottle of La Vieux Pin Cuvee Violette. Service was spot on, and we felt very COVID safe. Thank-you for the great evening!

Called to book a reservation. I guess they have been booking well in advance. The guy that answered the phone laughed at me for even asking. Literally laughed and told me they have been working well in advance and they obviously had nothing. Wow.
