Amazing breakfast place

I had an incredible experience at The Bohemian Cafe, thanks in large part to our amazing waitress, Megan. She was extremely knowledgeable about the new menu changes and took the time to walk us through the options. Her recommendation of the Bahn Mi sandwich was spot-on it was absolutely delicious! Megan was also impressively quick with refilling our coffee, always making sure we had everything we needed. Her friendly attitude and attention to detail truly made our visit special. I cant wait to come back again!

We had a lovely brunch at Bohemian Cafe in Kelowna! The service was really kind and the food hit the spot before going on a nearby hike. My husband enjoyed the smoked salmon omelette and I had the avocado toast. Both were great! Vegetarian options: Avocado toast, yogurt or granola based bowls, omelettes, etc!

There was an open table on the patio, but we couldnt sit there because it was missing a chair... I ordered Eggs Benedict over easy and a $4 bottomless cup of coffee (never refilled). The eggs Benny was Over Medium, the 3 thin slices of strawberry were just sad and we got about 2ml of ketchup for the decent hash browns. I always tip, but for this experience I did not. It was still $26.

Update Aug 2024: Things seem to have changed somewhat since our last visit 8 years ago but the food is still pretty good. The service seemed a bit slower and the prices seemed a bit high. Would still come again though. Original review 2016: One of the best places to have brunch in Kelowna. Hipster before hipster was a thing. Highly recommend the huevos rancheros.

The food was gross price was very fair it was in a great location. Great staff but slow service. Very accommodating to my baby but I would not go back, it just was not my style of food.

Great food, I had the clubhouse and the ingredients tasted fresh. Had lots of fries that my toddler stole from me! All good because I ate my wife s toast and homemade jam. Staff was timely and super friendly. Kid-friendliness: Great for kids

We had 30 mins waiting in the line and another few minutes waiting for the food, which fair coz it s a holiday most of the restaurant are closed. But the food is amazing specially the short rib steak. Definitely go back again

My first time here today I had a server by the name of Randi. One of the most pleasant servers Ive ever had dining in my life. She was super joyful and bubbly. The eggs Benedict was flawless. The best eggs benedict Ive ever had in Kelowna. Overall Id come again just because of the lovely server Randi amazing experience .

We went here for breakfast before heading on our long trek home. The place had a cool vibe but it took a long time just to get our drinks and then our food which wasnt hot. Im sure its not always like that. Vegetarian options: Ratatouille

I had an incredible experience at The Bohemian Café & Catering Co. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional, thanks to our amazing waitress, Randi. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, but what really made the day special was the personal touch and care from Randi and the entire staff. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!

Delicious brunch!

One of our favorite breakfast places to go to in Kelowna. We got there on a fairly regular basis. Good food always tastes great and lots of homemade items. Prices have gotten a little high compared to the other ones we go to. Service always depends on who you get but there is one guy I believe his name is Leif (I could be spelling it wrong) I would say he is the best server I have had in awhile. Management makes sure to correct things if you received your order wrong.

I used to enjoy having breakfast there with great food and service whenever we had guests from out of town, but I have to say that I realized last Sunday when we went to Bohemian, the portions were smaller. I ordered popeye omelette and it used to be way bigger than I got. That makes the food more expansive. It was disappointing. I am ok with waiting long time for food because it s been the same. I don t know if anybody else agrees with me or I am exaggerating. I have talked to my friends about it and they think the same. What I know is that I don t want to pay the same money for smaller portion of food anymore.

We dont go out for breakfast that often anymore but this morning we had a lovely breakfast.The service was excellent and the food was very good. We recommend the Bohemian Restaurant .

So the menu has changed and the build your own breakfast has dropped. That said the kitchen is super accommodating and delivered what I fancied. Haven t been to the Bo in years but wanted to treat my stepdaughter visiting from out of town. The 3 of us (me, her and her dad) arrived at 11 am and added our name to the wait list. We spent some time walking and driving around and returned an hour later when our table was ready. We ordered two cappuccinos and an iced tea which took 20 minutes to come to the table, at which time we ordered our breakfast. Our food took another 40 minutes to arrive and our server ignored us the whole time (no check ins, apologies for the kitchen being slow, asking if he could get us anything else). By the time our food arrived we were famished and I was disappointed with the tomatoes basil on toast, as it was literally a piece of sourdough with 3 slices of tomato on top and a sprig of basil for $9. No check in to see if we were enjoying our meals. Forgotten cutlery. When we asked for the bill it was $86 and our server said is this ok? And I replied well the service was lacklustre at best and we are Disappointed. He said oh. Well I can go talk to my manager at which time my husband said just forget it, we ll pay and get out of here. It was disappointing, the food is extremely overpriced for what you get and not at all how I remember. $86 for 3 breakfasts. I m not the type to usually leave a review but that s 2.5 hours of my life I ll never get back!

Cappuccino probably one of the best so far in Kelowna. Maybe a bit more training in service. If youre dropping off another plate and there are plates that are empty perhaps takes those off the table before dropping off a new plate.

I m an avid visitor of the restaurant and am usually very impressed with them. Today was a different story. We waited more than 30 mins for our food at which point we asked how much longer it would be as we had somewhere we needed to be. The manager came out and said it would be out in 30 seconds at which point it was another fifteen minutes so then I instructed them to just bag it for to go. I m not unaware that it was busy however I m upset that when I asked for a timeframe that they weren t honest with us. Had they just been upfront with the time we could have canceled our orders and been on our way. I expected them to have atleast comped our drink orders or given a small discount on our bill to compensate for the 1.5 hour ordeal however when the bills were delivered there was not. I will say the server handled everything amazingly and was very friendly. But overall a very disappointing experience and impacts my potential as a returning guest or to continue to recommend them.

Very disappointed with the changes being made by the new owners/management team. They used to have the best bacon in town but now we were told they have switched to generic GFS bacon. I assume it must be cheaper but the quality is terrible. I heard from our server that they used to get their bacon from a local company but have recently changed. What a shame. We will be going elsewhere for our weekend breakfasts from now on.

Hats off to the Bo! If you want delicious food and service above and beyond, this is your place. We had a wee hiccup with our meal today and were blown away by the professional, generous and gracious response from the server and manager Outstanding Job to both! Food

Use to be our favorite place to order eggs Benny. Everything has changed. Take out order came in a cardboard box you can t eat out of , using brown stale buns , sauce is different, food was cold. Nothing like it use to be. Not worth the $25 anymore

A very nice summer terrace, the atmosphere of the institution is great. Breakfasts have a very large portion, you could take 1 for two. There is even a vegetarian breakfast, coffee with vegetable milk. Everything is delicious, thank you!

Bohemian is a local classic in town, I have lived here my whole life and not another breakfast place compares, you can t go wrong with anything on the menu the pancakes and waffles and bo breakfast combos are hands down outstanding. They are so busy yet so pleasant and quick. We were in and out today in 37 minutes after Leif served us and made our morning with his big smile and caring service. Organic everything best sausage .. can t say enough shredded hashbrowns !!!!!! Mmmmmm

Huevos Rancheros on the patio, what a way to start your Saturday. Their authentic twist incorporates a vegetarian house chili. It was very good but for my taste there was too much, somewhat smothering the dish. Id ask for half as much next time.

Unfortunately Trying it the first time but WAY too many dogs! Very unsanitary!!! It doesn t state in you store that you have dogs at every table!! Yuck consider those who like to enjoy their meal without a dog at your feet

Service was friendly, portions were not so much. I got the rancheros, meant to be eaten with chips. I could only eat about half of it before running out of chips, they have me about six. Meal was expensive, please portion the main thing Im supposed to eat with fairly. This was uncomfortable and I wasnt able to stomach the toppings alone without any chips or bread to eat it with.

I tend to Order Eggs Benny as my first meal at a breakfast place because hollandaise is so very telling and Bohemian Cafe did not disappoint. A very simple basic looking presentation with what looked like an so so sauce but the texture consistency and flavour was excellent despite the slight off color. The wild smoked salmon was fresh and not overpowering, the poached eggs were consistent and not overdone and the English muffin was toasted perfectly not dried out. The shredded hashbrowns were excellent, cooked evenly with lots of nicely brown crispy bits, no soggy mid section like many places. I was at the Bohemian years ago in their old location when they were more of a casual wrap kinda vumibe and sorry I had not been back till now. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu! The service was very polite and attentive without being overdone. What a jewel in Kelowna!

Had a spinach omelet (Popeye) with mushrooms and hashbrowns...large portion and delicious

The Breakfast Hash Bowl is one the most delicious meals I ve ever had. An effervescent monument to the beautiful bounty of nature and the blessing our earth brings us. However much like time, the Hash Bowl is fleeting. Here one day, gone the next, like an autumn leaf in the wind. The immense feeling of joy and luck I feel to have been on this earth at the same time this breakfast hash bowl overwhelms me. Even if this restaurant, the hash bowl, and I are just blips, mere specks of sand on this planet, the effect this breakfast meal has had on me is mountainous. A true harmony of our blessings that graced my mouth only momentarily. I hope that one day, maybe even another life, I may be blessed with this meal as I soar across the cosmos.

Cannot say enough great things about this place! Last weekend we came for brunch with my nephew who had a medical emergency during our visit. The staff were incredibly quick to respond in the most kind, caring and helpful ways. They checked in numerous times while my sister was getting him sorted out to go to the hospital and overall made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. If youre looking for great food, service & atmosphere this is the place to go! THANK YOU to the staff there on Friday last week!

I love their French toast! Its one of the best that I have tried in Kelowna. Its crunchy on top and soft inside. It tastes so good with their maple syrup. I also like their hash because it is very crispy! I tried their pancakes, they are not bad. But I prefer french toasts to pancakes. I have been there a few times and the quality of the food has been consistently good! I would highly recommend this place for everyone who wants to have a good breakfast or brunch.

Had a wonderful brunch date with my partner and from the atmosphere to our delightful server Matthew, nothing could have been better for a start to a good birthday celebration. When we first moved to Kelowna and asked where people recommended for brunch, we often heard the Bohemian Cafe. After going here a few times, we are perplexed as to why people think this place is worth recommending... we think maybe just because people are used to accepting mediocre brunch? The service is usually terrible, its like that meme where you ask the server for extra jam and then realize theyre not getting your jam when you see them chatting with a coworker in the corner after 20 minutes of waiting... They also like to play the game of we like to have a long line outside to look super popular, even though our tables are half empty, which is hella annoying. As for the food, yes a lot of their food is homemade (where they earned the 2 stars), but at my last visit here, I ordered eggs benny and the eggs had that perfect circle shape you get at places like IHOP (this isnt a good thing), the sad hash browns were shredded, limp and barely warm, and the hollandaise was nothing special. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for brunch.

Maybe we just got unlucky and they didnt have their usual cooking staff but we went here for the first, and now only, time a couple weeks ago. One order was for a breakfast hash that I could make better myself at home. And Im certainly no chef. The hashbrowns were overdone and dry, So was the toast, with nothing to put on it besides what looked like homemade jam, which was actually really good. The other order was for Eggs Benedict. Again, overcooked, dry hashbrowns, shoe leather-tough ham, and hardly any hollandaise. We barely finished half of either of our plates. There is at least one 10x better place on the same street for comparable prices that well be going to from now on.

We went there for sunday brunch but waiting time was 35minutes. It looked like a really cute place. I hope to have brunch there next time when we re in town. So maybe get your reservation set up for brunch ahead of time people :)

Not sure what all the hype is about this place but we tried it and lets say we wont be going back ..shredded style hashbrowns have no taste at all my toast wasnt even fully toasted and my omelette was mediocre at best ..as for the service we had one person take our order different person drop it off and no one came back to check on us after that

Completely amazing French toast. I usually pick the healthy option - if that s you too, just don t. The French toast is too good to worry about your health. 2 pieces was enough and I added some house made chicken sausage for protein. Will be going back when we re in Kelowna again.

I am a local in Kelowna who has been here once before and had a great experience with service and the food was amazing. We decided to come a second time and wow, what a different experience. Service started out good and then went very downhill. We had ordered the oatmeal pancakes (which are always amazing) and also the black stone benny. I had ordered my benny poached medium-medium hard and when I got it, it was clearly poached very soft. So I asked our server Jude to get it remade and he took my plate away. When I got my new benny, Jude put it down and said sorry for it still being soft, the kitchen is just busy (and he also brought back my first plate of food to the table with the new plate). My main reason for asking for a new benny was because I didn t want it soft poached yet got a soft poached egg twice. I then said I wasn t going to eat it and he cleared everything away. Without asking if we needed anything else, he brought us our bill, didn t take off the benny (which I hadn t eaten) and then we asked him if it was going to be taken off. He then went back to the front and took off the benny and as we thanked him for doing that, he didn t speak to us and seemed to be angered by the fact that we asked for the food to be taken off when we didn t eat it. Overall, wasn t too happy with how Jude was as a server.

Really cool cafe in the centre of Kelowna. Excellent service and very yummy eggs benedict! We had one with bacon and another with salmon - both came with some incredible shredded hash browns which were 10/10! Definitely pop in here for breakfast!

Such unique breakfast options. Absolutely loved my Huevos dish. Vegetarian options: Plenty of dishes for vegetarians. You can also customize your meals. Parking: Its in the core of downtown, so you can either do street parking and pay the City of Kelowna or Impark lots.

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner back in March at the Bohemian Cafe. We used their restaurant space after hours and had the place to ourselves! The food was absolutely top notch, the staff were so friendly and so accommodating; we truly couldn t have asked for a better experience. Came here for brunch with some of my buddies while visiting the city. Definitely one of the best brunch places in town. Our server was extremely charismatic and personable, providing great service. Will definitely be dropping by next time I visit Kelowna again.

It was an absolutely incredible experience! Definitely worth every penny. Every single item we ordered was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere had a fantastic vibe. Overall, it was an exceptional experience and everything was superb.

The food here was delicious and we could tell we were getting quality ingredients. The servers were attentive the patio was nice and chill, the only downside which is out of their control were the wasps.

Went to this restaurant for the first time this weekend. Ambiance was good and the service was Ok. Ordered a dish with hash brown and beef. It was one of there so called favorite dish :/ The hash brown was so dry and was over cooked. I do not know whats so special about this place that people praise about. I think you can get a way decent meal if you go to Ihop or Rickys with less money.

We sat for about 15 minutes this morning before being acknowledged by the server. Whilst waiting we got the opportunity to watch one waitress inspect and pull something out of another waitress eye in full view of the customers - no one washing hands following the brief procedure. Cold coffee and our server has a new tattoo oozing serum from back of her hand. Maybe put a dressing over the wound and cover that up if your going to be serving food and drink. Needless to say we left prior to ordering breakfast. This was our go to for a quality cup of coffee but had a really poor experience this morning.

This place has THE best breakfast in Kelowna hands down. This is my 2nd visit here and the food did not disappoint at all. Just finished by Bahn mi and it was so good. Do try this place when you are in Kelowna. Food : 5/5

Cute little place but very slow service, we sat for 5+ minutes with our food but no cutlery, and once we finally got some we had to ask for napkins too. Food was alright, eggs were cooked perfectly but served with flavourless shredded hash browns and the toast was hardly toasted. Very pricy for portions served. $200 breakfast for 4 people

We had breakfast on a Saturday morning, our food was overall okay, eggs were overdone but medium poached eggs can be difficult sometimes. Our server was very friendly, however we werent offered more coffee and the experience all together felt a bit disappointing considering the price and how delicious the menu descriptions sounded.

I ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Ordered the huevos and it was just okay. There was about 1/4 cup of dry hashbrowns - everyone knows hashbrowns are the best part of breakfast. I was really surprised at the portion size overall to be honest considering it was almost $24. Service was good though!

I ordered scrambled eggs, avocado crostini, scrambled hash browns, and toast. Unfortunately, everything was quite bland and tasteless. The one redeeming factor was the French toast dessert, which stood out. On the positive side, the ambiance of the restaurant is quite pleasant, and the overall atmosphere is nice. However, its worth noting that the food is on the pricey side.

Charming and cozy Cafe serving a beautiful and delicious arrary of breakfast foods with, classic diner food with a fun, healthy, beautiful and sustainable emphasis. I got two half plates, the daily special which was a rosti eggs benedict, and some of the oatmeal berry pancakes. Everything was perfectly cooked, service was friendly and attentive, food was delicious. Could not recommend more!

Sunday morning breakfast, very weak cappuccino, huevos and pancakes cold. Returned both but came out the same. Did not offer to adjust the bill. Really poor management.

Went for brunch and had a great experience. Our server Megan was sweet and attentive and all the food was delicious. Great service and quirky atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

Service was very fast. I got the Corned Beef Hash and it tasted just okay, amount of corned beef didn t feel enough.

It was honestly the WORST eggs Benedict I have ever had. It was cold I sent it back. Then I got the traditional Benny and it was bland and boring

It was my first time, being from souther Alberta I was excited and was not let down. Great food. Coffe is delicious. Staff were curtious even though rather busy. Food came fast and accurate. Highly recomend.

Waited in a (very practical) online queue for 55 minutes to get a table on a Sunday mid-morning!!! I dont regret a SINGLE MINUTE of the wait! A+ food, service, and ambiance. Prices are inline with the quality of the food and I would recommend this place to anyone . The oatmeal pancakes are super yummy. Also Huevos Rancheros and chili are to die for. Highly recommend trying this place out. If theres a wait... just browse the local shops.. theres a local glass blower #coltsglass in the Hemp store nearby, and some other great small businesses too. Vegetarian options: Many. And helpful staff for guidance. Dietary restrictions: Really knowledgeable staff, and selection! Kid-friendliness: High chairs and smiles.

A bit greasy but very filling

Delicious brunch. Make sure to use their waitlist online so that youre not waiting for too long in person! We had French toast split between two people, and it was amazing.

Solid place for brunch. Had a larger party but our server was awesome. I liked that they had hot sauce and ketchup already on the table. Able to cater to vegetarian/vegan/dairy free folk! The bread was really good; the homemade jam I found a little too sweet and runny. Pay for street parking. Can get busy during peak times but they have an online waitlist.

A bit too expensive for what we got (eggs, hash browns, bacon, orange juice and coffee). I understand that they use good ingredients and make their own jam. However, breakfast for two should not be $75 for two.

When we want a casually delicious breakfast for the family this is our go to place. The waffles are amazing. One of my sons orders the very berry pancakes every single time and I don t know why he does because he doesn t ever get to finish it it s such a big portion. Their Mamosa s are delicious and come in orange or grapefruit. There is some thing for everybody s appetite. My daughter loves the fruit bowl and a small piece of pancake that she steals from her brother. I am partial to the omelettes. Hubby loves the beanies. Our other son likes anything that has meat in it. I am particularly fond of the atmosphere. The decor is industrial with lots of glam mixed in. I love the unmatched matching furniture and the vibe is just a joy every time. Always great service even when they are swamped.

Best breakfast in town, no doubt about it. Not only is the food phenomenal, but the restaurant is locally owned and operated by the kindest family. The atmosphere is also so fun. Pro tip: get something you can put their homemade jam on, or just drink it straight (it s that good).

How this place has such good reviews is mind boggling. It was awful!!! We ordered the chicken soup, bacon and eggs, and the Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sub). Where do I begin? Banh Mi - made with CANNED chicken and the pickled carrots and cucumbers had zero pickle flavour. Oh, and there was ONE slice of jalapeño on the entire sandwich. That s what makes the sandwich - the pickle carrots and the spiciness. This was a joke from the start with the canned chicken. And $20! A real Banh mi sandwich is $9 and is twice the size, made with fresh ingredients. Chicken Soup - made with CANNED chicken Homemade mushroom soup - tasted like canned mushroom soup with sautéed mushrooms in it. Homemade mushroom soup tastes nothing like canned soup - it is far more flavourful. This was not homemade soup. Bacon and eggs - bacon was incredibly chewy and tough. The rest of the dish was ok, not great. I will never return to this restaurant. I still cannot believe how many good reviews this place has. Unbelievable.

The waiting list was about 45 minutes but the food was well worth the wait. Definitely would go again.

The salmon eggs bennies were delicious. Long wait to get in. Clean washrooms.

Great vibe, great staff, great service. Fresh sourdough, real potatoes, and a living plant wall would be amazing! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie friendly options. Parking: Street parking, and lots of lots around. Best option is to walk and get that appetite going. I want to integrate street / lot / EV parking. Kid-friendliness: Great place for people of all ages.

Tried a few times and found the food mediocre, and the staff a bit rude.

Ive only heard good things but I found the place to be just average in terms of breakfast. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the vibe is great but honestly I found the food to be a bit plain. I had an eggs benny, it was good but nothing to write home about. I found the inhouse back bacon to not be anything special. My friend ordered the corn beef hash and it was very basic. Service was also kind of lacking any structure and all over the place.

To be clear, ive eaten here before and enjoyed each meal. However, a restaurant is only as good as their last meal. Not too sure if theres new management or new chef, but today was absolutely terrible. Rubbery bacon, overcooked eggs and dry hashbrowns. Then when I mentioned to the server about my experience and pointed to my half eaten plate, they just basically shrugged their shoulders and said thats too bad. I paid my bill and Im out.

I love this place, need to get there more often
