Curious Cafe in Kelowna

Kim and the entire Curious Cafe staff provided our company with another fantastic Christmas party experience this year. This was the third year in a row that they hosted us and every time its been great! Staff, food and atmosphere are always top-notch!

Curious Cafe is one of our go-to spots in downtown Kelowna! The food is amazing, the pizzas delicious, and the atmosphere is great. The staff are also super friendly which just adds to the experience.

Other than being exceptionally echoing and loud for some time, this place was really good. Fabulous food, great table service, good selection of food and drinks. They made a mistake with the meal of someone in our group and fixed it with integrity, a genuine apology, and the meal then provided at no charge. Well done. Parking: It was difficult to find a park; allow additional time for looking.

Kim, I just want to say a big thank you to you and your team. Our evening (a surprise BD party) was wonderful and our friends also commented at how wonderful the space, the food and the service was. Christian was incredible! I dont know how he did it but he was able to run the bar, serve the food and ensure everyone was taken care of at the same time. He was an absolute delight! Thank you and we look forward to our next Curious Cafe visit. Highly recommended!

Great Mac and Cheese, always a solid dining experience at Curious.

Went here with my friend as a last minute thing, the hostess was friendly and got us a nice seat. We both ordered a sparkling lemonade, which was super sour. after a while I asked for more syrup, which was given but was still sour so I asked again. the server took my straw and stirred it with where your supposed to drink from... ruined that for me personally. for dinner we both ordered our own pizzas, which took longer saying it was a slower evening. Overall the food was okay but expensive for the quality. better options within Kelowna if your looking for pizza and a good time.

Curious cafe has some of my favorite pizza in town. Prices are quite fair, everyone is super nice and the food quality is consistent and top notch.

Great food and casual atmosphere. I liked it!

Went there with my partner over the summer for our anniversary. It just so happened that we were the only ones seated in the outdoor patio (it was +30° out). Which turned out great, it was like having a private brunch with our fantastic waiter, Kalan. He was so funny and a real pleasure to be around. The breakfast sandwich was to die for. As well as their cocktails!! Would highly recommend this restaurant

This restaurant was quite a disappointment virtually no toppings on the pizzas! We ordered the arancini rice balls and what came out was an absolute joke $18 and 3 tiny rice balls about the size of apricots come on people this is rice you could provide a decent portion restaurants need to stop using covid as an excuse and provide proper portions and reasonable prices

Great vegan pizza and they were able to adjust other dishes to make them vegan friendly too. Id definitely recommend here to anyone with dietary restrictions.

Food was great and lots of gluten free options for anyone cerliac or on a diet! The atmosphere is fantastic and rustic with a touch of modern. The staff were wonderful and didnt come by too often, but not so rarely we felt forgotten. Overall a very easy recommendation for anyone in the area! Unexpectedly great spot for our hockey team dinner while in Kelowna for a tournament. Great food, good selection of beer, excellent service, no mixed up orders, no long delays. Highly recommend!

Came here with my girlfriend for date night, worst dining experience I have ever had. The staff are not welcoming and the place is like a dive bar. I can see why it is so empty. Will not be returning!

Sitting is uncomfortable in the restaurant, patio pretty sad and dismal. Waited 10 min. and no service!!! We walked out.

Always great service, all the food I ve had has been excellent, but I highly recommend you order the Crostini Di Ricotta, it might be my favorite bite in Kelowna

We booked Bar Norcino for a private birthday party and were so impressed with the whole experience - from accommodating questions and requests, to the day of, with excellent service and delicious food. I would absolutely recommend Curious - and Bar Norcino in particular for private functions!

Chicken and waffles was pretty disappointing very bland

I recently hosted a music event in their Speakeasy room and had a great experience. The room itself is stunning with brick walls and our Our server, Olivia was super attentive and took care of all of the guests and artists. The manager, Kim, communicated well and set up the room perfectly before our event. The drinks and food were amazing and would definitely recommend this place.

Curious cafe is a wonder, on first visit. But somehow, even with great pizza, and thats saying something,, its missing its potential.

The best service in Canada so far! Our waiter was so kind and gave all the useful information we needed regarding the menu and beyond! Food and drink were as good as the service! We can just recommend this place! A secret juwel!

We do a private lunch in their back little room it is nice and its private. The staff is great. They turn the music down or off so we can attend to business. Also the waitress treats us very well with respect to all of us needing separate bills and getting different stuff. They do great.

We had a very positive experience here. The server hustled, the food was good and we were not rushed when my family wanted to hang out for a bit. Will definitely return there again. Parking: Lots of parking on the street though in this part of Kelowna it s all paid street parking. Kid-friendliness: They had kids menus/coloring sheets. Disrespected their best server and bartender forcing them to leave, Kim the Manager is an absolute nightmare!

Food came out a little burnt and servers were consistently no where to be found. Management in this place could be worked on.

Super slow service on a Sunday morning with only one other table being served at the time. Waited 15 minutes just for the drink order. Food was served within a reasonable time afterwards. Food was good, nothing to write home about.

Great pizza and a nice space. Good for large groups and its a friendly place to catch a game. The only real downside is the smoke from the pizza oven. Its wood fired and you can smell it as soon as you arrive. It smells nice, but if youre sensitive to smoke, it might be a bother.

If I lived in Kelowna I would be a regular here. Great food, amazing service and stellar cocktails. The menu is original and much of it is homemade. Big tables and great atmosphere for big groups. 10/10 recommend.

My boyfriend and I have recently made Curious Cafe our go-to spot for date nights. Our experience on Friday evening was exceptional! Kalens service was top-notch, and Teyte crafted fantastic drinks at the bar. A friend joined us later, and the service remained excellent throughout the night. Weve never experienced such outstanding service in Kelowna before. I highly recommend Curious Cafe for a fantastic evening out!

The service is always fantastic, great food well priced. They are very accommodating for food sensitivitys, my daughter loves it too. Cozy, it is welcoming and comfortable which is rare for a restaurant. A local gem. Vegetarian options: Good vegan and vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options and they will happily try to modify for more specific requirements. Kid-friendliness: My 8 year old loves the mac and cheese.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on our Taste of Kelowna Food Tour and had to go back the next day! The food, the atmosphere, everything was fabulous. Thank you Andrew for introducing us to this gem of a restaurant! :)

Pricey hamburger but oh so good.

I had the best Cesar salad that Ive ever had! Our server was the best. We had a great dinner.

If I could give 6 stars for service I would. Our server was Kalan (I m sorry if I spelt it wrong lol) and he was amazing. Funny and made it an awesome birthday :). Shared the curious burger and the lavender wine! Super good would recommend 10/10.

A great taste journey very tasty cocktails freshly prepared and very creative pizza variations Here you just have to jump over your shadow and try crispy new things from the wood-fired oven! Coffee drinkers will also get their taste and let Elektra conjure up something for them.

Food: chicken parm is just a chicken burger, came out like warm, not even hot like it was under a heat lamp. No pasta with it. Service: service was slow, table of 13 but took 30 mins for our first drink and 1.5 hour for our Medicare food. Atmosphere: great atmosphere to be in, only good thing. Overall: not worth the price. Avoid unless you are coming for a drink or two at the bar.

Waitress was very attentive but bar took an hour before our drinks came out. Food took even longer and was terrible. Chicken parm had frozen chicken patties and sauce felt like it came straight from a can, definitely not worth $29. Pizza was extremely bland, no flavour to it.

Hands down one of the best spots in kelowna. Kalan was the funniest and best waiter we have ever had . Incredible spot for brunch on the weekends. This place is very special amazing mimosas and eggs Benny. Their pizzas are the best in kelowna without a doubt. A patio out back for summer and one of the best private room and bar rentals in the city. The bacon on their eggs Benny is cured in house. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Fabulous tequila selection. Highly recommend

An absoloute gem, this restaurant delivers on service, food, and atmosphere. Staff were extremely knowedgeable and accomodating about gluten and dairy dietary needs and ensured a delicious, safe dinning experience. Curious cafe has a seperate fryer for gluten free needs, as well as dairy free cheese and dressings. Thank you to Kalen and the team for your work! Not for me. My chicken burger was dry and just warm. Bun was also dry. Service was attentive. Quite busy and noisy, and pricey for the quality. Basically a pub. I prefer quieter place with more upscale food.

Came in for brunch with the wifey and we quite enjoyed it! The breakfast burrito and the breakfast sandy was awesome. Man the bacon was bananas. Good food! Will come back in the future

We ordered take out and it was delicious. The Arancini was crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. Pizza was fresh with a super thin crust that was chewy and crisp but not too much. The vegan Caesar salad was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend !!

If you re at all curious about where to get delicious wood oven pizza in Kelowna, (oven is apple shaped using apple wood) - look no further! Introduced to this amazing authentic Italian restaurant during our Taste of Kelowna Food Tour, we felt nothing but amore for the friendly staff and eclectic atmosphere. The Speak Easy room is a great spot for private parties, and the intimate backyard outdoor patio allows you to enjoy the sunshine. MUST try the Mac n Cheese, any of the delectable za s, anything with bacon (hand sliced in house), and coffee from the biggest, coolest machine I ve seen! Vegan, gf options available. Molto Bene!

Let me start with the service. Khalen. Absolutely amazing. Engaging, attentive, personable. Our party was of 18, he became a friend and a welcome addition to our conversation. An absolute joy and pleasure to have spent time with this man in every way shape and form. He alone, would be worth coming back the restaurant just for the interaction. I cant say enough good things. The menu is fresh, vibrant... its well thought out by individuals that truly have a passion for what they do. To take classics like a aranchini, or a simple caesar salad and do them so well they stand alone as a show piece is a statement unto itself... but the real volume and depth come in the simpler things that might be taken for granted. Fresh made pizza dough, wood fired to perfection. An infusion of oils found into drizzles that add depth and complexity through subtlety. The little details done so right, they could be forgotten through the tapestry of such a cohesive and brilliant plating. On a scale of 1 to 10, Id happily give the Curious Cafe an 11, and will definitely be back, if for nothing more than a slice of amazing pizza and Khalens company.

Fun and funky place! It was pretty full when I arrived, but got seated right away. After I finally got greeted at the door. (Took longer to get acknowledged than I ever would have expected, but so glad I was patient!) Their Hummus is amazing, and the Animal Lovers vegan pizza is even better. Fabulous! I ate the second half of the pizza for breakfast the next day. My #1 place I bring friends from out of town! Curious is my favourite place to eat in all of Kelowna and they never let me down. The mac and cheese & mushroom pizza are the best but nothing beats the breakfast menu. With a huge selection of beers/drinks there is something for everyone. The long tables support large groups, yet there are smaller tables for close conversations and dates. I always recommend that you try Curious at least once (but we all know you will be back)

Ainsley and Kalen were some of the best service I have ever received at any food establishment ever. Like straight up engaging place to eat, the staff and atmosphere and vibes was immaculate!

Kalen and Ainsley were both awesome! We sat at the bar and talked about mixology the whole time, food was out of this world as usual, and well worth the price. Parking: I parked a couple blocks away - easier than trying to park on ellis street.

Incredible service by Ainsley, our first time trying out Curious Cafe and the food was AMAZING, the atmosphere was great! Also, the first time my wife has enjoyed every single beer she tried, and their flights are only 16$. Thank you for another wonderful restaurant we will be visiting regularly.

Went in for lunch. Told us to sit down. A server came over didn t say a word to us just gave us water and a menu and walked away. After 10 mins of sitting workers were just standing around the bar. Our server was ignoring us behind the bar on his phone. Ended up just getting up and leaving.

Super cozy, chill vibes and laid back helpful service. All the food was stellar and so was the wine. Loved it!

First time having dinner here. Loved the different items on the menu. Its nice to see something different than everyone else. My gf and I shared some wings and a pizza. We both enjoyed the food very much. I will be back.

Highly recommended this amazing cafe, the minute we walked in we were greeted with the warmest welcome from Kalen. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect. Highly enjoyed Kalens suggestion on everything. But truly what made this a magnificent meal was Kalens great personality and his care for his customers. Can t speak highly enough about his customer service! Thank you Kalen for making a first date night perfect.

Cool spot for some great food. A local favorite!

The thing they do best is presentation/plating. The food always looks awesome! There are a couple substantial options for vegans, and dishes with quinoa that diabetics would appreciate. On the other hand, I dont typically go here because the food is more gimmicky/hipster than gourmet. For example, the hollandaise sauce and falafel on their menu are both reinvented with non-traditional ingredients that simply arent as tasty as the traditional ones (yet youre paying more for it)... But its generally a cool place with good service. Check out the more intimate seating around the bar if youre going for a date.

Wow! I ordered the NWT Arctic Char & it was truly incredible. An explosion of flavours. I ll be dreaming of this meal for years to come. Excited to try this chefs other meals!

Group of 10 girls were there for a birthday. All of us had really really dry pizza, it was just uninspiring. Our server didnt have excitement, didn t seem to want to interact with us. We really wanted to love it but left meh about the whole experience.

My family of five absolutely adore this restaurant. It s a great place to go after my boys finish a hockey game at memorial or when we want something casual but not cookie-cutter. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the brunch items on the weekend. I love the communal seating or when I need a table just for my husband and I there s always One to be had. This is a great atmosphere day or night. Very cosy comfortable. The service is always on point. My boys never complain about the size of their meals. There s some thing for everybody and everything is always really tasty.

Went here with the ladies before a show at the Actors Studio. Great selection of yummy drinks. Unfortunately I ordered the 1pound wings which were tasty but the wings were from very malnourished chickens. They were tiny with little meat. I did not take any photos as the wings were not worthy of a photo. Definitely not worth the money. But other dishes that a couple ladies ordered like the salad bowls or the Artic char looked good.

Food s average and a little over priced.

didn t have a great experience, our server barley checked in on our group and we had to remind her about the drinks we ordered. we sent the charcuterie board back to the kitchen because it was really underwhelming, the food and drinks over all weren t good either, the food took a long time to get the table as well. and no manager follow up after a dish gets sent back to the kitchen? great way to build guest relations - i m sure it s a nice restaurant for a date but definitely isn t meant for larger parties, hopefully this restaurant can improve on guests service and food.

We had a Reservation for 730, table was ready early and Kimberly sat us down. Just great service from Kimberly all the way through she had to deal with 8 of us. The restaurant is nice and has a great atmosphere. Food was top notch, we had the Jerk Chicken 8/10, Braised duck bao 8/10, wings (salt n pepper & bbq) 9/10, chicken burgers 8/10, pollo pizza 8/10, mushroom pizza 9/10 and truffle fries 9/10. Overall just a great place, great food and great people, and great service. This a must eat in Kelowna, we will be back. Thank you guys. Vegetarian options: Great Veggie options. Thos place is famous for pizza and the pizza is great for real! The ambient is nice and pleasant. I think their drinks are over priced compared to other places.

Absolutely amazing place! The atmosphere is so good and the menu is incredible. The range of drinks they have is unbelievably stunning! Food is great and the servers are so polite and helpful. Serving time is good as well. Will definitely be coming back!

Pretty good pizza!

My first visit. Ordered the felafel bowl. Although I know my felafel well it was the sheer curiosity of experiencing the restaurant. Had the house beer. Not bad. Felafel bowl was delicious. Lovely presentation and sumptuous.

Food quality is not like before

Artistic design, delicious food and lovely staff. Feels like 19th century bohemian style restaurant in a modern setting.

Brought my mom to Curious Cafe for Mother s Day brunch and had a wonderful experience! The service was attentive without being overbearing and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the mushrooms on toast which I would definitely order again! I especially appreciated the selection of mocktails at very reasonable prices. Curious Cafe is must-eat whether you are stopping through Kelowna or live here permanently!

Nice server. Good beverages. Ordered fried chicken and fries. I m not vegan, not vegetarian, no allergies and I m in good shape. When I order fried chicken and fries I expect a real fried piece of chicken and some flavourful fries. The chicken was good but it wasn t fried and the fries must ve been done in the oven. Bland and dry. I get we re all trying to eat healthier and behave ourselves but I do that at home.

We went for a large group dinner from the fixed menu. I have to say it was amazing. Even though the menu was fixed there was still enough choices to make everyone happy. The food was delectable. Our server did an amazing job.

Had an excellent experience here while we were visiting Kelowna! At a cafe, the service was top notch, with our attentive waitress exceeding expectations. The Firebird Chicken Sandwich and Prosciutto Pizza were mouthwateringly delicious. Highly recommend!

The place wasn t busy when we came in so it was nice and calm. Good vibes and nice atmosphere where you can hang out and hear each other talk. I ordered the Artichoke pizza and my bf ordered the duck duck pizza. Both were way too delicious to give up, even the crust. We usually don t finish the entire thing but it was just too good. I have yet to find a better selection of rotating beers in the city! Craft has more selection, but Curious is always rotating! Found beers here that I could only find in Ontario and Quebec before. Staff is always friendly and welcoming! Always love visiting here. Location is prime as well! Cheers guys!

Came for a solo lunch and had a lovely bowl of avocado, hummus, quinoa, cranberries. It was dressed so perfectly with the lemon juice brightening everything without being overpowering. Healthy and delicious..it made me seriously consider going vegetarian if food can taste that good. I did see they have a big pizza oven though so it seems like pizza is the thing or order here as well. Next time for sure!

If I could give more stars for the service, I would. Bryce was so freaking sweet and even though we entered super late, he still had a great attitude, and made us delicious drinks and served us an incredible pizza (dare I say the best in town?). I recommend and plan to visit again soon!!

My daughter and I went for brunch at around 11:15 am. It wasn t very busy, but we were not greeted until the bartender noticed us. We seated ourselves on the patio. After a long spell, the waitress came and gave us water and menus. A while after that, she took our order. We ordered two classic breakfasts, an iced coffee and a cafe macchiato. The iced coffee came, the macchiato was forgotten. A very long time later, our breakfasts arrived. The waitress scurried away without checking to make sure we had everything. We didn t. No bacon (part of the order), no salt and pepper, no hot sauce as requested. We sat waiting for the waitress to reappear, but that was at least 10 minutes later. Still no macchiato. Apparently, they had to do a run for coffee beans? After we finished most of our breakfast, the bacon and macchiato arrived and the bacon was charcoaled, so inedible. The salad was not fresh and the lettuce was spoiled. The waitress during this entire time did not greet, did not ask how everything was, and did not offer any apologies for the wait and inattentive service. We waited for a long time for our bill and finally walked up to the till to pay. The waitress practically threw the bill at me and did not look at us once. This used to be a nice place to go, but I will not waste my money here again and suggest that there are many other places where you can get a nice breakfast and be treated as if you matter.

Tasty brunch, but my last visit was plagued by a group of rude, drunk and obnoxious men at the next table. Managers were not on hand to keep the group under control. Pick your table carefully

It was pretty empty when we got there but the food was very tasty and would come back to try other things on the menu. We had the mushroom on toast and the Cesar salad and I was pleasantly surprised by the salad because they added fried capers which added some crunchy texture along with a bit of brininess which cut through the richness of the salad dressing very nicely. The mushroom toast was also very good with rich and savoury sauce and plenty of mushrooms to smother the toasted bread underneath. I want to come back with a larger party to try out the oven baked pizza and next time but for everyone else, this was a good restaurant worthy of your attention.

Although a bit loud and slow, the food was sublime! Everything our party ordered was spectacularly delicious, and the drink menu was well done too. I would recommend the Hummus over practically anything. Good hummus is hard to come by unless homemade, and this place does it with practiced skill! Delicious! This is most definitely a conversational brunch spot, as food does take a long time to come out and seems to cater to larger groups. Great place to host a brunch!

Absolutely love this restaurant! You can tell that ownership and the chefs take their food serious. I have had almost everything on the menu and would highly recommend any of them. My favourite is the Beach Boys Pizza. I even like stopping in for just a nice Americano !

Had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the back norcino room. Everything was perfect, couldnt have asked for better Dietary restrictions: Menu has options for everyone

Went there for brunch after reading some really positive reviews. We were... underwhelmed. The curious bacon was extremely strange and gross -- both gamey and sweet. Never had bad bacon before this. The eggs were the super pale yellow cheap grocery store eggs. If Im paying $25 for eggs and toast I would expect a free range/farm fresh egg. The hashbrowns were quite good, though a bit salty. It was okay. Uninspired. I think I understand why it wasnt very busy in there.

Most of the food we got tasted amazing and Im sure the rest of the menu tastes just as amazing. I love a good Margherita pizza. Theyre simple but delicious and their pizza is just perfect. Their Beach Boys (bbq) was just alright for my taste. The Texas bbq sauce seems to have overpowered all the other ingredients on it. If you love bbq sauce, then I would recommend Beach Boys. I got to take some bites of their Garbanzo Gladiator and it was great. The chickpea veggie patty was crunchy on the outside and soft of the inside. It was a unique experience to try something like that. I gave their service 3stars because the staff forgot about our water twice during our time even after acknowledging and saying Ill get back with your water. We came around a time when it was not busy so it was just a bit disappointing.

Great place to go before an event downtown, within walking distance to the many great entertainment venues. Nice selection of wine and drinks. Great servers, and the woodfire pizza is fast and probably the best tasting crust I have ever had. Highly recommend! Christina

Stopped for dinner after arriving in Kelowna. Food and service were good, atmosphere was excellent.

Food was great - tasted like right from Italy! Server was fantastic. Atmosphere was welcoming and friendly - we came at 8:30pm, after which they had already turned the oven off, but they turned it right back on just for us - WITH a happy face

Server was friendly. Atmosphere nice. I was very excited by the interesting selection of pizzas. My wife and I each ordered one so we could try two flavours. Unfortunately the toppings on both felt like they didn t spread far enough to the crust, the dough also had so many black and burnt spots that my wife was still spitting up charcoal when she brushed her teeth later in the night.

The cod was delicious. Took 35 minutes to get it. It was busy but not that busy.

I went here the other night. I was pleased overall by my experience. Staff was friendly and professional. Food was very good. Was a little loud but otherwise was a enjoyable experience. Cocktail were decent. Price point a little high for what was served...but so saying that is kinda the norm. Have to say best side salad I have ever had. I would suggest a great place for a date night or as a family gathering.

Friendly and good drinks. Parking: Be ready to pay for parking. This whole city is that way. Kind of strange. You have to wait until after at certain time for free parking. Food : 5/5 |

Wasnt expecting all the food that came out. For the price per person, its all worth it every penny, food was great, location and ambiance is amazing.

It took a while to get food but besides that it was amazing! The pizza was really good and there were lots of dishes with duck.

Server didn t like our table when she learned that 60% of us don t drink and service went downhill from there. Food wise, the broccoli salad was delicious! The pizza would ve been great if it was brought to us five minutes earlier (it died at the window unfortunately). Wouldn t recommend the duck + gnocchi, not sure what we re eating for that dish.

Fun spot! Great pizza! We had a group of 9 and the service was slow, but it was a Saturday during these hard times with staff so I get it! Will definitely be back!

Wasnt impressed with either salad or fries I ordered for the price. Havent tried the pizza yet which I hear is the go to. Wouldnt go out of my way to visit but would try again, super great staff.

Its a nice place. Good service. Unfortunately for me I dont know how inventive the menu has stayed over the years. I would say for a 19 dollar salad it fell a bit short .
