Great ambiance, food and service!

Came to diner deluxe with a friend, was super busy (which makes sense because the food is so yummy here)! They have a very large menu to choose from! This location is right on lakeshore so easy access to the beach afterwards! The view from outside is beautiful and inside is decorated lovely. Service was friendly however very slow, only saw our server a few times... This is incomparable to the food though, so Id 100% recommend!

Beautiful location and interior but really disappointed in the food. The farmers sausage is actually a smokie and really oily, the bacon was flavourless (kinda greasy and hard like it had been deep fried) and the gf pancake batter has been changed and is now pasty and oily in the middle:(. I ve been before and it was mediocre but today it was surprisingly bad. Previously the pancake was good with cocoa nibs sprinkled on it. Also really wanted a top up on my coffee but they never asked me. Why would they serve a smokie and call it a breakfast sausage? Why would they serve a smokie at all?

I bought a breakfast sandwich omg with a coffee it cost me with 3.00 tip 26.89 1 egg slice of cheese two pc back on a potato bun 19.00 coffee 3.50 tip 3.00 omg what a rip off

The food was delicious and the atmosphere is fun, very clean. Our server could have been more attentive. Our water was room temperature. We wanted to order another round of coffee but it took so long for the server to check in. There was no quality check.

This place is the best breakfast and lunch place that s ever opened in kelowna!!! Atmosphere is very coastal California and the food is fresh and delicious!! Great menu! It s my weekly haunt now

I love this place a little too much. It s my favorite place to get Eggs Benedict and French Toast, and I always recommend going here whenever someone asks me for a brunch place. The service is grand too, but it can wildly noisy in there - so if you re thinking of taking anyone who s hard of hearing, you might not love it. When it s full, they should turn the music down a little.

Casual but efficient modern diner facing Okanagan Lake. Both classic breakfasts, and interesting but tasty takes on the classics.

This was the worst customer service I ve ever experienced at a restaurant. We waited for 10 minutes by the door, and the waiter completely ignored us. When I tried to get her attention, she rolled her eyes and told me to wait. Your staff needs to learn some manners. If you re busy, a simple, Sorry, we re busy, we ll be with you in a few minutes, only takes 10 seconds and would go a long way instead of being rude and ignoring customers

The atmosphere was the best part. The food was tasteless, and simply disappointing.. I couldnt access the free parking from my phone since the QR code or actual link didnt work for me.. The original server who saw us walk in, said theyd be around 15 mins for a wait, and when we put stuff in our car behind the building, they had sat two other tables ahead of us that arrived after us... One of the waitresses with tattoos on her arm and blonde hair, was super nice though and apologized on behalf of the restaurant for the wait and confusion (their hostess quit unexpectedly) and were trying to work around that issue. This place has a lot of potential, though Id recommend the food gets a major upgrade. Atmosphere was lovely to have the lake breeze on us. Also recommend wasp traps for the patio. Was there one morning. Me & the wife had egg benedicts. They re weren t good. Very blunt. The staff were not friendly. They re not rude either. We just don t feel welcomed. There were 4 tables including ours. 3 were served. It s wasn t busy BUT it took them 10 mins. or so. To asks us if we are ready to order. The moment we were done. We have to go to the counter area to pay. Also the fruit bowl looked like a fruit SOUP bowl. The fruits weren t fresh at all. At least during these time. They re just chatting on one corner.

Have always enjoyed the Calgary location and was super happy to discover their kelowna location- great outdoor patio to watch the lake while you enjoy all the great food they offer. Vegetarian options: Try their sun bowls..so good!

Great bowls, mimosas are delicious, and the servers were all so lovely! The cozy outdoor patio gives a great view of the park and lake across the street, overall an enjoyable breakfast experience!

Terrible customer service. Online orders ALWAYS canceled after waiting at least 20 minutes being under the impression it s on its way before it s cancelled , staff is zero help when it comes to answers.

The atmosphere is great, service was great, the Benny itself was okay just a bit bland (and yes I ordered the smoked salmon without capers & shallots but at other places this is how Ive had it and its been far more flavorful) but the potatoes were just like... Not great. Tasted over cooked but were barely warm. All in all the food was meh for me but everything else was great. Would try again next time Im in Kelowna and suggest you try it too!

Amazing smoked salmon benny, I got it on top of the breakfast poutine, best brunch I had all week in Kelowna. Great service too and nice views on the patio of the water, highly recommend.

This used to be our absolute favourite breakfast spot, but now Im not so sure. I ordered an omelette, which was overdone (eggs were browned, as was my husbands frittata) and underseasoned. The menu says rosemary potatoes, we were served basic deep fried potatoes that also tasted unseasoned and did not have any rosemary. I used to rave about the rosemary potatoes! Service was slow even though the restaurant was not full.

Trendy place but the food lacked flavour and the staff seemed like they didn t care to have us there

Was very surprised how much we enjoyed this place for breakfast . The staff was welcoming and got our food to us in good time. The decor is light and airy....also like the washrooms. All of our food was excellent. My husband liked the salmon bennies. I heard great things about the pulled pork and risti dishes. I had the eggs/toast/home fries with maple chicken. The eggs were perfectly done as was the toast. The maple chicken was in a sausage form and were odd but ok. Also decent size portions. Glad we had tables indoors as the road noise is quite load on Lakeshore. Will definitely go bk for breakfast.

Food was good. Only complaint is all the hot sauce bottles at the tables and around us were empty.

We recently dined at Diner Deluxe in Kelowna on our way to Big White, and it was a delightful experience. We kicked off with the maple fried oatmeal, a unique and tasty starter. I opted for the Huevos Rancheros, while my husband enjoyed the Whole Lox. Both delicious and tasty. The oat latte was a highlight, and the service, along with the bustling Sunday brunch atmosphere, added to the overall positive impression. Highly recommend for a flavorful brunch outing!

Best garden burger and fries! Excellent. Had to wait 50 minutes for food to be served and a half an hour for bill to arrive. Short staffed. Saw people be seated but leave before ordering due to wait. Also people seated next to us actually had take out from another restaurant due to wait. Needs to be addressed. Parking: Difficult to find. $2.00 an hour

I am not the type of person to leave poor reviews but this time, it just felt necessary. I went there on my 19th birthday (March 17th) with my 2 friends knowing it was probably gonna be busy judging how it was a Sunday and also a holiday. We got there at around 11am and it was packed inside but nobody was on the patio. The women that greeted us at the door said it would take around 15 minutes (which was perfectly fine) and handed us a buzzer and told us that she would inform us on the buzzer when a table has opened up for us. We let her know that we would be outside to wait. We stood outside chatting for 20 minutes and the buzzer didn t go off, then we proceeded to stand outside infront of the building so the women wouldn t forget. We got chatting again and realized that we had been waiting outside for 40 minutes with the buzzer being dead silent and they were seating other people who were walking in. The patio was filling up (which they could ve sat us at when we got there) and there were tables inside opening up so we went in to sit inside on the waiting bench and they ignored us completely. My friend and I work in the service industry so we understand what it means to be busy especially during a rush, but to make people wait around for 40 minutes and expecting to be buzzed in, is a bit bizarre and left a rancid taste in my mouth. The moral of this review is although the food is good, the service lacks everything it means to work in the service industry. Thanks for wasting nearly an hour of my 19th!

I have tried to give this place a chance 3 times now. And all 3 times have been the same experience great food, bad service. I myself have worked in the service industry awhile, and have a very good understanding of what good service looks like. If you are looking for that, avoid this diner. I once even left a 20$ tip for a server who gave bad service, out of the kindness of my heart (maybe she was having a bad day). But ended up receiving the exact same kind of service the next time I tried to dine there. Obviously not a bad day for the server, I just don t think the service training there is up to standard. Like i said, they have great breakfast food, but the environment itself isn t one that will leave you with a smile. I have tried to give it a chance, but even the last time i attempted to dine there they told me they would buzz me for a table and actually never did (i waited nearly an hour). I ended up going to Cora in the mall and the service there was 10-0 with this diner. The server at Cora was very friendly, bubbly and made great conversation which is something I had never received at Diner Deluxe. Sad to leave this review, but It s important people are aware of the environment this restaurant provides.

taste not good

This restaurant was super busy on a Sunday morning. Had to wait a bit to get a table but well worth it. Our server (I wish I remembered her name) was friendly and when an issue arose with our order she was quick to respond and very apologetic. Once our food arrived, we werent disappointed. Chicken and Waffles, Classic Breakfast and The Breakfast Sandwich. All were very tasty and there was a lot on your plate. Would highly recommend.

Delicious food served nice and hot. Care and attention to detail was obvious with a homemade from scratch quality. The service was outstanding, very friendly and knowledgeable young lady. I didnt get her name but shes originally from Alberta. Our order was served very quickly which we loved because we were hungry and ready to eat.

Fabulous brunch, although they don t accept reservations, and it typically takes 30mins to get a table, even on weekdays!

We usually love Deluxe but today s (Sat Jan 7th) initial greet service was horrible and basically ensured we wont be back. We arrived and was given a buzzer and told it would be a 15 minute wait, no problem. We were then told with a rude tone we have to wait outside. Ok so being a little chilly stepped in to the foyer, waited about 5 minutes and the couple inside were seated so we moved inside and sat on the bench. We waited another 10 mins but then noticed that the couple who came in behind us were seated before us. I can understand if a four top table came in after us and a four top table became available and they were seated before us, BUT seating 2 people who came in after us ensured that I left. Very disappointed, there are other great place for breakfast that will gladly take business.

Never available for delivery. Trash service on the phone.. good food but the fact you can never order out is very disappointing.. you open at 10am and can t handle takeout orders even when not busy.. why even be on skip app at this point? And for the price.. oh Lordy..

First time in today and will be back over and over!! The service was incredible, great drinks and our breakfast was one of the best I ve had in town. My wife had the Mascarpone French Toast and I had the Super Bowl. Recommended dishes

My husband & I tried to get in that place on Sunday but we couldnt find parking, as we live out of town so after driving around for abit we decided to go to another restaurant. We tried again on Monday Family day and yippee we found parking. My husband had the traditional bacon & eggs and I had the Blueberry waffles our meals were absolutely fantastic. The staff were very friendly and prompt, if our server wasnt asking how we were doing other staff would ask as well. I could see why people were waiting to be seated as its a nice little hidden gem we will definitely be back the next time were in town. I wish they took reservations as we travel from out of town and it would be nice to get a seat since we dont live here. thank you for the great visit. See you again.

Bland, subpar food thats not worth the steep prices. Eggs were oily and cold, potatoes were over-salted and had a from-frozen taste to them. Felt a little sick after. I really wanted to like this place but it sadly missed the mark by a long shot.

We love the food and atmosphere there. A couple times we didnt have five star service but its always good enough. Some of the best breakfast in town.

Awful. We were seated at a table that was so wobbly, I lost most of my coffee to the floor and the table. After we were seated, I asked where the menus were, the waitress pointed at a QR code on the table, we didnt have our phone at the time so I asked for a hard copy. They gave us two menus in plastic that had seen better days, it had items crossed out etc. Honestly printing a new sheet that doesnt look like it was driven over by a truck is not difficult. My wife wound up getting the coffee refill, the food was overcooked and the jalapeno chorizo had no spice at all. A complete and utter disaster.

Overrated. The food was bland and extremely overpriced. They got our order wrong and the service was mediocre. Default tip amount was 22%! She deserved the absolute minimum. We won t be going back again.

A fantastic breakfast at Diner Deluxe. We were lucky enough to have a table with a lake view on a beautiful morning. Service was great from the minute we walked in. I enjoyed the Classic Breakfast ( added 2 additional eggs ). Everything was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Kelowna.

The food was delicious, but we had to wait almost 30 minutes for it, and then something was left off the order. The utensils were also not sharp enough to cut into some of the foods. The place was beautiful and the food was good though, so I will go back!

Service was good. The food was not. There was enough Hollandaise to just colour the eggs, and the food was cool. The toast was lacking butter and very dry. All in all, it was disappointing.

We ve been wanting to try this place for a while due to the great rating, but we were very disappointed. Our server, Sacha, was absolutely lovely, but the food was terrible. Everything was bland and sauce portions almost non existent. The kitchens excuse for the blandness on one order was we had to leave things out due to your nut allergy . Not sure what kind of nuts are being put into a salmon lox, but whatever. There was no reason for the other two orders to be bland as well, as neither of us have an allergy. Overall, great service, those girls are amazing, but we will not be back because of the food quality.

Just paid $18 for two of the worlds most stale cinnamon buns. It was so hard you could knock on it and it made a tapping sound. Even the center was hard. Im assuming they just leave them out after baking them so they get as dry as possible. It was the beef jerky of baked goods.

The food is good, fresh, clean and the flavours are a mix of classical and new tastes. The Okanaghan Omellete is good and plenty for a breakfast. Ill would come back for a brunch experience, rather than breakfast. The restaurant seems to be all the time full busy, hence you will most likely have to wait about 45minutes after ordering. Thats why Im giving them a 3 starts in Sevice

We had high expectations based on reviews and recommendations from friends but were let down. The food was just okay (stuffed French toast was missing the brie, hashbrowns seemed old, flavour was lacking in each dish). Our server was really sweet but seemed to be struggling service-wise (one of three coffees was delivered to the table, we never received jam for toast, etc.). The menu offers diverse, interesting fare but missed the mark for us this past Sunday.

We re from out of town and had come here last year and had a great experience and was super excited to come back. Our server Nikki took quite a long time to greet us, where then we had immediately ordered our food cause we were hungry. It then took about 40 minutes for our food to come, with my boyfriends food being cold. It then took a long time again for her to both check up on us and grab the bill, since we saw her chatting with her coworkers in the back after we had asked. Did not say anything to me when she dropped off the bill, and did not say thank you or anything of that regard when we left. Super let down and disappointed because we had been excited.

We informed the waitress of our allergies and she proceeded to roll her eyes and throw the menu onto the table and said the chef said he won t do it and walked away. T We have a nut allergy and we were told by the waitress that nutmeg is a nut and therefore we were refused (nutmeg is NOT a nut, please review allergen education with ur staff). Multiple times prior to this she rolled her eyes or threw utensils onto the table. It s unclear what led to this behaviour but it felt hostile immediately and unwelcoming. This was unfortunately and very unexpected, we had to leave because of the treatment we received. The other waitresses and staff were completely fine and we were looking forward to eating here. I m very dissapointed and caught off guard by the aggressiveness.

I had the Crispy Chicken sandwich (Gluten Free) and fries. When was the last time a gluten-free person had a breaded chicken sandwich (rice flour, thank you!) And Fries! No, usually we get a salad and a piece of grilled chicken. I dont know why it has taken me so long to try this place but I am a fan. No gluten or fish to cross-contaminate the fryer. Great service. Good portions. This made me so happy. Did I mention fries? Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free. No cross contamination in the fryer.

While on vacation in Kelowna, we ate here 4 times in one week because it s just that good. The flavours and quality of ingredients are exceptional.

Food was great as always but the service sadly was not. Our group waited for over an hour after being quoted 20 minutes for a table, after asking for coffee refills no one came around until after we had paid the bill and we re about to leave and an 18% gratuity was added due to group size which wouldn t have been an issue if our server had mentioned it but instead it was just added to the bill. Thankfully one of our group members spotted it or we all would have tipped again unintentionally.

Best place for brunch across the beach. Breakfast poutine, burger, waffles, french toasts or eggs Benedict, none will disappoint. And the service is excellent. No reservations so allow some wait time (varies based on the day and hour when you arrive).

Went here on a quiet Thursday afternoon and the experience was great. No wait, great service and piping hot food. Our server Arika was lovely, helpful, and very fun.

Overpriced subpar breakfast. Bacon basically burnt to black, other items were overcooked or burnt, which overpowered any other flavors. Not a fan of the linear seating either. Staff was pleasant.

Amazing breakfast/brunch spot right across from the beach. The Deluxe Burrito with chorizo is a no-brainer. The Jalapeno-Chorizo Benny, the Pulled-Pork Hash and the Mascarpone French Toast are all tied for 2nd. The wait staff is excellent, the decor is super cool, and the coffee is as good as it gets.

Let s start this off. Service: immediately greeted at the door with big smiles and we were seated quickly. Joe waited on us, had our order down perfectly and was the best. Cannot say how much we enjoyed her company. Made us feel at home. Food: NEXT level! I had the Huevos rancheros and my wife had mascarpone French toast. A picture is a million words so go look at it. . So so so good. Fresh, high quality and obviously made with love. Cafe Latte and Mimosa was awesome!! Thank you, we WILL return!!!

We went for brunch today and even though we were absolutely enjoying the food and patio, the manager and our server (who was AWESOME btw) felt our experience fell short of their high standard and went over the top to take care of us. Its a beautiful thing to see local businesses that prioritize customer experience over profit. We already loved this place but now its at the top of our list.

The lox bagel is so incredible. Smoked salmon, capers, poached eggs done just right.

We had a Classis Breakfast , which was basically two eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes and a few slices of tomato. It was ok, as it is hard to mess up a classic breakfast. My bacon was very droopy ..but my bad for not asking for it crispy. Potatoes are not the homemade variety .basically deep fried cubes. It all tasted fine. But the price was $15.75 plus $3.75 for a coffee. So almost $20. There are hole in the wall breakfast places you can get a classic breakfast with coffee for less than $10-12. Service was very good and location is great, accross from popular beach, which is great during the warm months. Overall, it was a decent place, but for me the prices are a bit on the high side for what you get.

Always love finding local spots when I come to Kelowna. Met some friends and everyone said it was the best breakfast they ve had in forever. Thank you Rhian and everyone for the awesome breakfast and visit!

The most delicious food was let down by sub-par service and a high price. I ordered a traditional breakfast with an extra egg and extra meat. It was delicious. But when dropping $30 (includes 15% tip) on a breakfast, I would expect to be offered jam, ketchup and a refill on the coffee.

This was my go to breakfast spot before I moved there eggs Benedict and aperol sprits is a great combo. There guava juice is also very tasty the atmosphere is very social media friendly. And there staff is always great. There is usually a line but it s worth the wait I highly recommend it

Great little breakfast diner with sidewalk patio seating. Can recommend the Canadian Bacon & Tomato Confit Benny. Very large portions for price particularly the Vegetable Egg White Frittata was to much to eat. Service was friendly and coffee was refills was constant. Will be back!

Pretty slow with the orders even on less busy days but the food is excellent! Would be 5 star with quicker service.

Huevos Rancheros Horribles We ve been to the Calgary restaurant many times and have always loved it. This Kelowna iteration is well located. We were greeted warmly and sat and served immediately. Maybe we ordered the one item on the menu that was not well constructed The dish was 3/4 rosti potatoes, not a component of traditional huevos rancheros. Also no black beans. Some roasted red pepper sauce with toasted tortilla strips. Looked pretty but all the potatoes definitely ruined the dish for me.

I had the Mushroom Eggs Benedict my partner had the waffles. Food was quite good service was decent. Atmosphere was a bit too busy and loud for my taste but still enjoyable.

Great menu with a view. The food is top quality with diverse options to choose from. The portions are also perfect and the dessert is a must try.

We waited for 50 minutes. Our coffees took 15 minutes. And the server only checked in twice during our entire stay. Kind of a let down because we came all the way from Vancouver and heard this place was pretty good. We ended up leaving before our food even started being prepared.

We left the place after waiting quite a while in a half empty restaurant. We were second to arrive yet other patrons received at least water and coffee. We were not served either, but in addition the hostess asked back one of our menus.

Brunch in Kelowna is tricky... you may think to try some of the places locals recommend, but then leave wondering if those people even had tastebuds? Diner Deluxe, on the other hand, is one of the standouts for brunch in Kelowna. Location is right across from the beach, their aesthetic is very Insta-worthy, and most importantly, their brunch is killer! They can actually poach eggs perfectly (sounds like it should be a given, but youd be surprised how many places cannot master this), their ingredients are always fresh (their avocado game in particular is always on point), and their breakfast options have something for everyone. Pro tip: make your hash browns breakfast poutine; you wont regret it

Had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and a side of their poutine. Was probably the best breakfast sandwich Ive ever had, and the poutine was awesome. Everything had so much flavour. Food came quick and was piping hot. Would definitely recommend.

The place is nice with a nice breakfast menu - We enjoyed our breakfast but its a shame that all breakfast came with those potatoes, a little variety on the side of the dishes would have been appreciated but overall, nice atmosphere and nice service too

Staff was lovely but meal was extremely disappointing. It took 40 minutes for most of our table to receive their food, by the time myself and my toddler got ours everyone else was done eating and ours was missing items and had no flavour. Not a great experience

A-mazing! Best breakfast in years. Our server, Sasha, played a big role in that, super attentive, gave us great guidance on favourite items, and made sure we were happy with everything. Food was delicious and hearty. When I was leaning towards the classic Sasha said you can tell a lot about a breakfast restaurant by how they do the basics and they knocked it out of the park! Nice atmosphere and good energy. Will be back!
