One of Kelowna’s Top Rated Restaurants. Fresh Sheet Share Plate Menu featuring Farm to Table dining at its best - featuring a new menu daily using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. Salt & Brick also features an entirely local wine list focused exclusively on the Okanagan’s smaller wineries. The room has a modern vintage feel with beautiful floral wallpaper, a pretty amazing backbar and a great Pink Floyd Neon that greets you on the way in. Salt & Brick embodies their tagline, Local • Food• Wine
We heard so many wonderful things about the dinning experience here and it was everything thing I thought and more!!! The Brussels are defiantly worth the try! our server was so caring and it made all the difference knowing she wanted us to be enjoying our food and experience. Defiantly will be going back with their ever changing menu! Lots of Vegetarian options that had so much flavor!!! I had the Rigatoni as well and it was delightful! Thank you everyone! From the Chefs cooking your meal in front of you, to the walk in and exit greetings! Very small and personable!
I absolutely loved this experience! The service was warm and welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere. The romantic location right by the pier added to the charm. The mixologist truly excelled with the drinks, and the food was incredible—especially the fennel. Chef’s kiss! 😘
Went the other day as a date-night, and was the best decision ever! We had Amber as our server and was wonderful. We ordered Shirley temples but they didn't have grenadine so we had a prickly pear syrup instead which was super delicious. The menu changes daily (except for 2 dishes) which makes it a fun experience. We got the mushroom pasta, big-mac egg roll, and my favourite the French onion dip. Everything was phenomenal! I enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant (plus it was cool watching the chef's do their thing). Only complaints are that the seating wasn't the best and that there is a minimum to order. However, these cons are nothing in comparison would 100% recommend and go again!
We loved Salt & Brick! Their menu changes daily with a decent amount of variety each time. Our waitress Amber was terrific! While they didn't have grenadine to make a Shirley temple, Amber whipped up a prickly pear mocktail that was just the BEST. For dinner we had mushroom pasta, big-mack egg rolls, and French onion dip. All were some of the most quality and tasty food we've ever had. Simply perfection. I simply cannot recommend S&B more, the staff was super friendly, food was delicious, and it was overall a wonderful experience for us.
Amazing food here. The vibe is super chill. The music is fitting and service is good. Highly recommend having a drink and some food here.
Delicious food and drinks! We were seated outside which I think helped because the live music was amazing. The cocktails were well done, and the portions were generous, we even had leftovers. We were a tad bummed out that they ran out of lobster dip, but the brussel sprouts blew us away. We did feel as if we couldn’t tell the grapes were pickled, though. Overall, amazing experience and we would love to go again!
Absolutely amazing dining experience! Thanks to our server Amber for making it a very special evening! And kudos to Chef Tallen Freh and his crew for serving up dish after delicious dish. Has to be the best food we have had in the Okanagan by far, can't wait to go back. Great service ✔️ Great wine ✔️ Great food ✔️ This place is not to be missed!
We were pretty impressed! Well done trendy fresh innovative dishes. Great portions, excellent taste and the menu always changes! . Big Mac spring rolls, Nashville fried chicken and the Lamb was superb! Great staff too... See pics
I came here this past weekend for the first time with a friend for a couple drinks. The black haired female bartender was extremely unpleasant. Very cold demeanor, and spoke in a tone that was condescending. We left after one drink, I doubt Ill go back to this place.
What was expected to be a good dinner out became an outstanding experience sitting at the Chef s Bar. Food was delicious, wine was on point, and the conversations with Chef Shelby were enlightening and enjoyable, making for a terrific experience. A few special treats by the service staff made this birthday dinner one to remember. We ll be back!
Great date night spot. Love that they change up the menu here frequently and use local ingredients. Great tapas to share, great ambiance and lovely wine selection Vegetarian options: We brought a friend who is vegetarian here with us. There were quite a few menu options for her that we were all able to share as a group Dietary restrictions: I have an anaphylactic peanut and treenut allergy, I ve always felt very comfortable eating here and felt that the staff handled my allergy with great care and attention!
The food took almost two hours. My 63 dollar steak came with no sides, just steak, and for a 90 minute wait it was basically the worst steak Ive ever had. We came in a group of 9 and none of us were satisfied with the service or wait. I would not recommend anyone come here.
Unique food, delicious. Outside the box, but inside the realm. Half of the serving team was on point and engaging, other half opted to shave chocolate as their purpose in life without multitasking quite enough with their guests. I presume they were a student just biding their time to move on to the next thing, understandable. Overall good > great. Will return and readily.
Make sure to ask for Charlie. Drinks were amazing. Food incredible. Atmosphere vibey. Like I said, ask for Charlie.
Fantastic spot, just moved to kelowna and the best meal Ive had so far!
The food here is incredible. We sat outside and they had a live piano player and it made for such a great atmosphere! The staff was super friendly too. Would recommend if you re visiting!
Cool premise with the changing menu daily but the majority of the dishes we tried really missed the mark and the drinks were not good. Staff were friendly and patio vibes were good.
Terrific patio for food, wine and people watching. Service was outstanding!
Very good food. Nice to see enthusiastic people nerding out over their craft. We shared 6 dishes and all of them were special. I d recommend eating outside if it s an option; the restaurant lacks adequate ventilation. We ate inside and left smelling like we just crawled out of a deep fryer. Need to get my jacket dry cleaned three days later and it still smells like cooking oil. But that won t stop me from coming back! Excited to see what will be on the menu next time.
Wow. Seriously inventive chefs and a menu that changes daily. Trust the kitchen and dive in. Food
All amazing, service wow wow wow
Awesome spot, excellent food!
Salt and Prick , terrible service and food was not worth the price.
The food was delicious, creative and fresh.
Amazing food great environment! Recommended 110%
A small quaint place with a different menu every night. Location is great and easy to access. There is a patio and bar seating option. Parking: Finding a spot near here will be difficult during popular hours.
If you re a foodie, this is the spot.
Very delicious with a slightly different menu each day and many good cocktails.
Nice place.
We just had a awesome experience here, we have not been here for awhile. we are so glad that we came back, we did notice prices have gone up but I guess that is the new norm. We sat up at the bar in front of the cooking area and what made our evening that much better was having a evening conversation with chef Shelby.
Great for cocktails, lots of options and they are beautiful. I wouldn t make a reservation again, they do take your credit card # and charge for no shows, we looked at the menu afterwards and decided to just get drinks here. Beautiful place just wouldn t go here for dinner again.
Very intimate setting with amazing food and great service. Our server was very knowledgeable and the brussel sprouts and spinach dip were my two favorite dishes. Super fresh ingredients, good atmosphere. Highly recommend.
O e of the best places you will go on your visit to Kelowna. Amazing food, amazing service and such a cute and relaxing setting. Drinks are made to perfection. If you dont go out you are missing out.
We went here for a friends birthday and we had an amazing time! The food was so delicious and dessert was beautiful! We had great service and the everyone was really lovely. The hostess even remembered that it was my friend s birthday when she was getting our coats. Highly recommend!
Tonight we went to Salt & Brick for the first time for my hubbys birthday. We had shrimp crustinee, morel tacos and the I just want a steak. Everything was made to order right in front of us and was super fresh. The steak was absolutely delicious and the Demi glaze was to die for! We will be back!
The staff is incredible
The Brussel sprouts are AMAZING. Great vibe, food and service!
Delicious food. We managed to get the last table during their peak time. Love the simple & fresh menu. Beautiful presentation. Gem of a restaurant. Food
The food at this establishment is second to none, it makes for a tough dining decision as this has risen to one of our top favourites. We were grateful for the pleasant service and atmosphere, thank you for the S&B team!
Newest cute and trendy spot for YYC! Great spot for friends dinner! All the food was amazing. Can t wait to come back and try the drinks! Thanks to the staff for making our special night even more special! The dessert was delicious!
Incredible restaurant. Engaging staff, extremely attentive service. Food is the best I ve had in Calgary in a long time. Would highly recommend!
What can I say about Salt and Brick in Kelowna? A beautiful cozy room and a warm vibe, great for dates, special occasions or just a Friday night out! the staff are friendly and Tori is the best!
Over time this place has kept great service and interesting food their focus. The menu can be limited sometimes but always prepared exceptionally well. Service is special and appreciated.
Our recent visit to Salt & Brick Calgary exceeded all expectations and left a lasting impression. We had the pleasure of hosting guests from Alabama, and despite the restaurant being fully booked, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 8. One of our guests is hearing impaired, and the staff immediately recognized the need for a quieter space. They swiftly arranged a private area for us, ensuring everyones comfort and enjoyment. From the moment we sat down, the experience was extraordinary. The staff recommended exquisite drinks that perfectly complemented our meal. The food itself was nothing short of exceptional; each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing a remarkable blend of flavors and creativity. Ive had my fair share of dining experiences, but Salt & Brick easily ranks in my top three, a sentiment echoed by our friends from Alabama. What sets this restaurant apart is not just the outstanding food, but also the impeccable service. Every member of the staff exuded professionalism and warmth, making us feel truly valued as guests. Salt & Brick has achieved something truly unique. Their dedication to culinary excellence and exceptional service is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough..
Seriously even if I reserve on Open table you need a credit card to reserve and then you give us just over 1-½ hrs to eat ? No reservations for me ! Do you think you are in LA or London !
We enjoyed a fantastic night! Food was unique and delicious. Our waiter Cody was so friendly and added to our fun of the evening. The manager Matt was awesome also from Charlie s Watch Repair. Definitely will go again next time we visit Calgary.
The service was absolutely amazing. Food, spectacular, the drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone! Erin and James were incredible!!!
Completely underwhelmed. We must have hit a bad menu day. Cheetos on pasta? Cheese popcorn on top of overcooked Brussels? Over priced. We won t be back.
Vegetarian options: Incredible hospitality. The chef and GM always go the extra mile to make sure each customer leaves satisfied. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Here often for business and personal Always accommodating! Great team even better food and beverage
Perfection on a fork! Unique, flavourful and enjoyable. Many thanks to the wonderful staff!!!!
The food was good and the staff were very nice.
My partner and I had a great meal at Salt & Brick. Its not often that we spend so much on a meal out but it was a special occasion and the quality of the food did not disappoint! Atmosphere and service were great. Would definitely recommend
Our first time here and it exceeded our expectations. Absolutely beautiful restaurant with great service and absolutely delicious food! Will definitely be back!
Wanted to love this place! The interior is very nice, and the service was excellent. However, the portion sizes you get for the price is ridiculous. We paid $140+ for three dishes that were tiny. We left hungry, and the food was not good enough to justify this insane pricing. The $45 scallops came with 4 scallops. Some dishes were overcooked and just meh. This would be a nightmare for large parties. You would need about 2-3 dishes per person to feel even close to full (each dish is $35+ on average). Most dishes were not even large enough to share with more than 2 people. In my mind, if you offer family-style, your offerings need to be large enough to actually feed everyone at the table. Cocktails were mediocre. You could get a much better meal at any of the other great restaurants in Calgary for the same price. Major Tom, Orchard, and Barbarella have the same vibe and offer much better food + drinks. Super disappointed! I d skip this one.
Big miss. The brussel sprouts were raved about at this restaurant. Tonight the brussel sprouts were served with grapes and handfuls of white cheddar Smart popcorn -- pulled straight from the bag. I kid you not. Having come in to catch up with friends, it was laughable that we were served this. The price point was way off.
Great customer service but a very tired overpriced menu. Good for drinks but not food. Ate there 5 years ago and then again recently, nothing has changed.
Good eats in a mid level restaurant. Great for a date night or a pleasant evening out. They seemed to be well stocked in local wines. A little pretentious for what it is but while the food was not particularly memorable we had a lovely evening. There was some evidence of tension between some staff which was unfortunate but didn t get in the way of service. It was winter -Christmas week-the website still said something about Getting Summer on! Would really like that to be updated. I phoned and left a message. The answering machine talked about waitlists and the patio so that hadn t been updated either. My phone call was never returned.
Unreal. Best meal Ive had in years. Great service, lovely people, and the food is phenomenal.
Got to the restaurant and I had screwed up my reservation- the hostess who was ridiculously nice swiftly gave us a table and brought us a drink. The menu is original and terribly delicious- forget the new years diet! If you want the same old same old chain restaurant you re in the wrong place but if you want a mouth orgasm bon appetite! #Fat kid problem - love you Tori
For my partners 40th birthday, I decided to do something special and hired Salt & Brick for a private Chef. It was my first time doing this so I was a bit nervous however Chef Krissy was very organized, communicative, funny and helpful turning my planning experience into something more joyful and easy. My partner, my guests and I were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service as she also had to cater one of my guests with food restrictions. This is easily one of the best meals we ve ever eaten. Thank you again chef Krissy and we are looking forward to our next visit.
Staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and creative. Will return regularly!
We were heading home from skiing but wanted to eat in Kelowna before leaving. My husband found this place. Friendly service, super food, great atmosphere our sort of place. The menu changes daily. Definitely visit here again when next in town.
One of the best meals EVER, and the service was excellent. Would eat here every day if I could!
Incredible experience from start to finish. Our server was amazing and very knowledgeable. We shared a bunch of the dishes and couldnt decide which was our favourite as they were all so good! We came with our family who had been here a few weeks ago and had a great experience. The menu was different and they said it was just as amazing! Cant recommend this place enough.
Went on valentines Day. Everything i ate was perfectly cooked, seasoned & flavor combinations were on point. Drinks were yummy. Service was great even on such a busy night all the staff were great. I really enjoyed their personalities & learned how oysters go with the smokey notes of scotch with fun luge experience. Im definitely going back & will be suggesting my clients to go as well.
Food, atmosphere and service are out of this world. Loved every tasty moment
Small spot with big taste and atmosphere in what I would describe as fusion meal and beverage menu options, which are constantly evolving. If you are looking for a unique dining experience for that special occasion, Salt and Brick is the spot!!
Amazingly creative bright dishes. What a chef! Great knowledge of the world cuisine and virtuoso techniques! Truly, the very best in Kelowna
Love the sharing plate concept. Food and cocktails were excellent. Smaller place though so defnitely make a reservation if its for a busier night.
Mushroom toast was to die for
Great spot. Wonderful food
Amazing from start to finish! One of the best dining experiences we have had!
Honestly the best food Ive had since as far back as I can remember. Generous portions, great ambiance, and flavors I cant wait to revisit. Love love love this place.
Loved the creative menu. Very sociable
Delicious food and a great vibe is on offer at Salt & Brick. We had dinner here and had the brussel sprouts, bison bao buns, and the mushroom pasta. All three were uniquely different but delicious in their own way. The old fashioned I had, as well as the Bordeaux blend wine, were also great. The restaurant is really small, so reservations are a must.
Just had the best dinner ever, love the Brussel sprouts. Staff was friendly and kind, they were very accommodating to our kids. Love that the menu changes daily. 10/10
Nice staff but we were not anticipating that the chefs choose the menu each day, nor were we expecting each person would require two portions per person making a meal extremely expensive. The menu wasnt good so we didnt stay. Would have been nice to see this info before we went there. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible at all
The place in Kelowna for flavourful, original food. If you want a steak, there are lots of places for steak. If you want flavours matched to create a novel dish that is perfect, this is where you should go. Food : 5/5
Great vibes, great service, outstanding food! 10/10 recommend, will be back. Keyanna was very knowledgeable and hospitable and made our dining experience magical!
I have been here a lot over the past few months. The ever changing menu is always creative and keeps me on my toes. Food is delicious. Service is phenomenal. Love the vibe. Salt is killing it.
Had heard good things but the experience was phenomenal. Great service and even better food!
Had a great time. Interesting food menu, each dish had a little mix of food that was quite nice.
A one of a time experience! We sat at the chefs bar and Chef Krissy recommended us delicious meals from their menu that is created daily. Every dish was divine, the atmosphere was fun a day friendly. This was more than a meal, it is an experience!! Definitely make a visit to this spot you will not regret it!
My experience at Salt & Brick has been excellent. Ive chosen to give Sallt and & Brick my business for the past 3 days for the service, prices on both drinks and food, the staff members, and overall experience that you can not get. Both Amber and Tori Even with how busy it gets, they make your experiences so comfortable, friendly, and well valued while youre here. I am thankful for everything here and I recommend checking / stopping by to experience what I have. Andrew Haire
Tables were all booked when we walked by on Saturday night. Offered a seat at the bar so accepted and had a couple super tasty dishes. House white was lovely too.
Service was great, considering there was 1 person working tables, great job. The small selection of BC wine was good with some nice choices from Rust. The food was, in my opinion, below average and overpriced for the quality. Burrata was so-so, overwhelmed with acidity since it came with a large portion of pickled veg. Spot prawn pasta... I dont understand why youd blend then fill a ravioli with these delicious beauties, then go heavy with a creamy sauce. Crispy duck breast was almost raw, beyond rare, not crispy and overwhelmed with a huge helping of bok choy and oily noodles.
Great food and excellent service.
My dining experience was lovely, Amber did a fabulous job of curating the best experience. The food was incredible.
Several locals had recommended this place so we were lucky to get reservations. The menu changes daily and the dishes are interesting, incredibly tasty and wonderfully cooked. It is all share plates but bigger than tapas. Our server was really helpful with choices and how much to order (believe them, they know). It s an open kitchen so really great to see the chefs all working so fast but no panic and turning out amazing food.
I was told the menu updates every day. Ask which items can be made vegan. When I visited, they were able to modify a number of selections as vegan.
The first sign of trouble was the lackluster presentation. Now, Im not one to judge a book by its cover, but when a dish arrives looking as if it was hastily assembled in a blindfolded frenzy, its hard to muster any enthusiasm. It seemed as though the kitchen staff had simply gathered a medley of ingredients from a run-of-the-mill grocery store and slapped them together without any regard for artistry or finesse. And oh, the flavors or lack thereof. It pains me to admit that Ive tasted more nuance in a cup of stale coffee on a Monday morning. Each bite was a symphony of mediocrity, with ingredients that failed to harmonize and left my palate longing for something, anything, to excite the senses. It was as if the chef had taken a masterclass in how to drain all the life out of a dish, leaving me with a lingering sense of regret and a burning desire to seek solace elsewhere. Now, dear readers, let us discuss the price. The audacity of charging such exorbitant amounts for a culinary experience that would be outshone by a casual visit to Earls is beyond comprehension. I found myself yearning for the familiar comforts of quality food at a reasonable price, but alas, it was not meant to be. In conclusion, my visit to Salt & Brick was a venture that fell painfully short of expectations. If you seek an unforgettable dining experience, one that will titillate your taste buds and leave you with a lasting impression, I implore you to look elsewhere. As for me, I shall retreat to the comforts of establishments that truly understand the art of crafting a remarkable meal. After all, life is too short for subpar cuisine. Rating: But the service was good so Ill give it 2...
Absolutely love this spot! This is for sure the place to be in Kelowna! I love the drinks and the food is to die for! I couldnt imagine being anywhere else this summer! The servers are so upbeat, kind, and efficient! My favorite is Amber, she always makes sure we are taken care of and satisfied! If your ever in Kelowna, check out Salt and Brick!! Best spot in Kelowna!
Ordered the Old Fashioned, quite good. Brussel sprouts, very good. Under whelmed regarding the spare ribs. They were tender, but on the dry side Great view on Bernard by Okanagan Lake Food : 4/5 |
Salt & Brick is an absolute culinary masterpiece! From the moment I stepped into this elegant restaurant, I knew I was in for an extraordinary dining experience. The ambiance is modern yet inviting, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal. The menu at Salt & Brick is a work of art. Each dish is meticulously crafted with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The attention to detail is unparalleled, and every bite is a revelation. The chefs creativity shines through in every dish, making it a true gastronomic adventure. The quality of the ingredients used is exceptional. From the freshest seafood to the perfectly aged steaks , every component of the meal is of the highest caliber. The flavors are bold, innovative, and beautifully presented, leaving you wanting more with each bite. The service at Salt & Brick is top-notch. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that every need is met. The sommeliers expertise in pairing wines with the dishes is commendable, elevating the dining experience to new heights. Salt & Brick is a true gem in the culinary world. Its a place where food becomes art, and every visit is an unforgettable experience. Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge, this restaurant will exceed your expectations. Five stars arent enough to express my admiration for Salt & Brick. Its a must-visit for any food lover!
My favourite dish was the lamb racks, extremely tender. Atmosphere was great.
10/10 extremely happy no complaints Money Well spent! The chef is obviously extremely talented And the rest of the staff match up the atmosphere was perfect Got the fancy feel like your going out But also has a nice home vibe Loved it! And felt great afterwards! Normally any place we go for dinner I feel horrible afterwards salt and brick made me feel good! Definitely recommend!
The waitress was excellent and very friendly. I was not impressed with the host. When I asked for a table for 1, as I was travelling by myself, my choice was sitting at the bar or outside where I was the only one seated. Yet I saw many couples who didn t have reservations go into the restaurant and get seated. I m not sure who the host was the evening of June 27th but he should learn proper hospitality skills. Reflects very bad on this establishment. For this reason, I would not recommend your restaurant. Thank goodness the waitress that evening was engaging and friendly
Unique and great dishes every night.
First time we have ever been to this place..after visiting we are wondering why. We booked our Canada Day dinner there..with friends..and we had a really good time. The vibe is great along with great service and great food. I would try this place if you havent.
Ate here tonight, honestly was not impressed with the quality or taste of the food and even less impressed with the quality of the service. The food was vey slow to come out, we waited at least 1.5 hours for at least 3 of the dishes that we ordered to come, counting from the time that the order went in. Additionally, they forgot one of our dishes which happened to be the only thing I was eating tonight, because nothing else on the menu looked appetizing. After asking our waitress for our missing dish at least 3 times, and then walking into the bar to ask someone else about it, our server just stopped coming by our table. Much later after asking yet again where our food was I was told that its on the way, its being plated right now. Then the manager came out, very disinterested in our issue he asked me when i told him it was taking a long time how long is a long time (1.25 hours at this point) he reminded us that dishes take a long time to prepare with the way that they make them. Later on after finally looking into it told us that our dish got lost in the mail and that it would be even more delayed to for them to make but also it would comped, and it was. I definitely did not appreciate the sarcastic and disinterested attitude we got from management in response to us inquiring about our missing dish. I appreciate even less being lied to by our server about my food being on the way when I specifically ask her about it for the 3rd time. Showing that she didnt even check on it. I was told specifically that my missing dish was being plated before the manager had to come out and sheepishly admit finally that they had messed our order up and that they had to start making it then. I highly encourage anyone thinking about dining here to consider the next best choice on your list of options. The food and service here just is not good enough to justify the prices on the menu.
Salt & Brick catered our wedding at Oak Estate Winery and the food and service were phenomenal! Many of our guests had said it was the best wedding food they ve ever had. The planning process was very easy and communicative as well (shout out to Casey!). We have also had a chance to stop by their restaurant which was equally as amazing. Highly recommend!
If youre the kind of person (or couple) who cant decide what to have for dinner, let Salt & Brick solve this question for you! With an always changing menu, youll always be surprised and delighted. I loved that you could watch as your food was prepared, nothing says someone loves their job like a shared fist bump over a plating well done. Service was excellent, the food was surprising and fun, I love being encouraged to share plates, so this was awesome. Definitely coming back!
Has to be our favourite Date Night Dinner place in town. Great food changing menu and fun knowledgeable staff!
Nice restaurant for a date night. Appreciate the fact that they have a changing menu to keep things fresh and fun. We got the brussel sprouts and ribs to share. Honestly the brussel sprouts wasn t that great not sure how the popcorn, grapes and boiled brussel sprouts became such a popular item here. The ribs, however, was great! So tender and fell off the bone. Well seasoned with some nice sauces.
Best meal I ever had. Way more filling than I thought it would be.
Delicious fresh food, enthusiastic waitress, local wines. Loved this place!
I feel robbed. I had some friends visiting from Vancouver and based on the 4.4 star review rating on Google we came here for dinner. The drinks were terrible, and the food was even worse. Service was decent. After our third failed dish, we cancelled the 4th one, paid our bill and went somewhere else for entrees. The food honestly sounds delicious on the menu, but when it comes to the table, it is as if someone has bought prepared items from a grocery store, put them on a plate and served them as are, without even adding a fragment of their own flare. The cocktails also sound good on the menu, but they are also terrible. One of them tasted like it was straight vodka that had been mixed with Koolaid for color and flavor. I would never come back here again. And, as mentioned, we went somewhere else. While dining there, one of my friends received a call. He went outside to take it and was telling the person on the other line about our extremely disappointing experience at Salt & Brick. When he got off the phone, another patron sitting on the patio at the second restaurant excused himself for overhearing his conversation, but wanted to let him/us know that the original chef of Salt & Brick sold the place a few years back and that it simply has gone downhill ever since then. So if you didnt know, you do now. I guess the new owner can enjoy his profits while the original owners 4.4 star review rating lasts.
Felt like a jack of all trades, master of none situation. Brussel sprouts are a safe bet as others have pointed out. The duck was quite tough though. If youre going to spend $85+ on steak, youll get more bang for your buck at teppanyaki.
Very expensive
Wonderful service and top notch food! Tessa is the best cook and deserves all of the promotions!!
This place is a rip off go somewhere twice as cheap thats twice as good
I love everything about this local foodie and wine spot. Menu changes daily and all share plates which means I get to try it all instead of just one thing. (They have a gluten friendly menu as well) Service is warm and welcoming, incredibly fast beverage service. Can t make a wrong choice with the food menu either the steak is out of this world, pair with Brussels sprouts.
Tori is amazing! Food is consistently delicious- it s our go to favorite especially for comfort food
Amazing spot in the heart of downtown Kelowna. We were served by the manager, cant recall her name but she was super friendly and welcoming. Food was outstanding, roasted chicken! Portions were large, the one main to share was more than enough for my partner and myself. The wine selection was excellent with lots of local options. Would make a point of going anytime Im back. Book ahead as it is busy, rightfully so!
Wonderful culinary experience all around. The menu changes often so its impossible to speak on a regular dish, but everything Ive tried has been outstanding. Baked Brie, Gnocchi, Pork Belly, Rack of Lamb, all superb. The surprising stars of the show to me were the string beans and the fried egg plant that came as sides, and they were extraordinary, not to say that the mains werent superb as well but these little sides really made an impression. The staff were kind, informative and made sure we were well looked after. I am really looking forward to my next visit to this restaurant and I recommend it to anyone looking for a share-plate style dinner with friends and family.
Loved the atmosphere, the service was excellent, the waitress was pleasant, helpful, efficient and not intrusive. And the food and drinks were very good, we shared a dozen fresh oysters, a ribeye steak (16oz) served with broccolini and roasted potatoes (this dish was served as a platter to be shared. The cocktail selection was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or a small group dinner and drinks. I
Tasty food, great service.
The service and atmosphere where amazing and the savoury meat dishes were on point, if you re in Kelowna try Salt and Brick!
We vacationed in Canada literally a year ago and have repeatedly told friends this was one of the best dining experiences in Kewlona. If we lived there, they would have to shoo me out the door on a weekly basis. The food was sublime and the staff was amazing. Treat yourself and go!
The Brussel sprouts are legendary for a reason- though don t sleep on the rest of this menu! Fresh ingredients and creative flavour combinations that made this a delicious adventure.
Was an amazing experience. The food was differently cooked and presented than anywhere I have ever eaten. Good Job Everyone
This is a great place with super friendly staff and amazing food! The burrata is a must and the drinks were perfect! Reservations are definitely recommended as this place is super popular. Will definitely be going again!
Great place for delicious food & relaxing but chic atmosphere//staff were also very welcoming and friendly, definitely recommend
We had the most awesome dining experience with our good friends for a wine & dine eveing! Thank you Tori, Steve, James and crew for a memorable evening
Great food and cocktails
Amazing! The prime rib is excellent!
Went for my birthday dinner with my wife. The cabbage dish was incredible. The beef dish was cooked perfectly. The manager Dallas gave us phenomenal service as they were able to modify dishes to suit my wife s dietary requirements (gluten & dairy free). Overall excellent. I would highly recommend checking it out for a special dinner or even just a casual night out. Dietary restrictions: Dishes were modified and tasted great.
One of the best spots to dine out in Kelowna!
This is by far one of my favourite restaurants in the okanagan. I drove an hour out of my way to come here. Good music, laid back atmosphere and the chefs absolutely perfected every item we ordered! Was blown away by the flavours. Genius idea of having items to be shared between your date, plus the menu changes everyday. Thank you for this experience, will be coming back
I was looking for a nice place to take a family member out for their birthday on a Sunday in Kelowna. This little place has a funky decor and a fun vibe, the two servers were engaging and gave great service. The food was creative and tasty. I am really happy to see a place like this in town. I will be back.
The food tasted lovely and the suggested pairing with wine worked really well.
Great space ,food and service
The restaurant has a great vibe and atmosphere. This is further enhanced with not only the great service (there was only one person...managing all the tables), but also the well-balanced and tasty food. I would highly recommend visiting the restaurant...although...hard to find out what exactly is on the menu...since it changes frequently, if not daily.
Amazing place, great ambiance. We ordered three dishes to share between the two of us and it was abundant. Roast sablefish was to die for. Veal Osso was exceptional! Friendly staff as well.
Amazing food! Great atmosphere!
Quality of food is second rate and over priced. Music last night was very poor too.
Happy Mother s Day to me. What an outstanding evening. I loved the vibe, staff, food and the bubbly went with everything. The whimsical brussel sprouts never disappoint, and the pork belly was the best I have ever had. Although I was so full I am glad I made room for the crème brûlée. I would recommend going as a group of at least four so that you can really enjoy the tapas experience and taste and share as many dishes as possible. I will be back and I am so thrilled my boys spoiled me with a wonderful Mother s Day experience.
Pricy. Good all round
This is quite simply one of the very best restaurants in Kelowna. The staff is incredibly friendly and fun and the food is absolutely amazing. Do yourself a favour and try the pork belly. Unreal. My fiancee and I cant wait to come back when were in town! Also, Logan is an absolute beauty and we loved chatting with him throughout the evening.
Amazing food. Amazing wine. Amazing cocktails. Amazing mustard. Cute chef. Exceptional service from Logan
Came here for my friend s stag. Food was amazing!! From the guacamole and heirloom carrots to the brussel sprouts! Highly recommend if you want a quick spot to hang out, have some good food, and receive great service
One of our favourite downtown stops for great food, tasty cocktails and friendly staff. We moved to downtown Kelowna a couple months ago and have checked out many establishments. Salt and Brick suits us. The staff are exceptional. Logan is worthy of a special mention as he is very friendly and has a good memory for his customers.
Great food and fun atmosphere. Our favourites were the lamb and the salmon but all the dishes were very good
Dog friendly place (patio) for lunch and people watching. The pork jowl was excellent. Local wines and beers. Friendly staff.
The best Resturant in Kewlona, hands down
Overall my experience was great, food was fantastic! Drinks were okay, but Giving a 3 star because of the live music generally love live music but whatever band you had playing last night definitely ruined my experience. Lovely band but I think maybe a different venue would be better suited. They took away from my overall experience.
The manager Logan was so accommodating. We came to Kelowna on a business trip and only had a short window before meeting clients. The restaurant wasn t open yet he took the time to seat us on the patio and brought us a fabulous house red and a complimentary baguette fresh from the oven. His knowledge of the wine in the region was second to none such an extraordinary young man! I highly recommend it this place either on business trip or on a special date. Life is Good !
*Beware of your expectations* There are definite pros and cons to dining here. Whether or not one outweighs the other is going to be up to you. My experience was decidedly negative. *Pros*: The staff are friendly, the menu changes every day, and some dishes (like the pork chop and udon) have interesting and unexpected flavours. They have a nice salt and brick lager that is light and fruity. *Cons*: They have an extremely understaffed kitchen for the number of orders they are trying to fill. I went with a party of four and each of our dishes arrived one at a time, with the last dish arriving a solid hour and a half after the first one. The pork belly and duck were both horrendously overcooked (although by that point we were hungry enough to be okay with it). The duck was the last one to arrive, which left my grandma awkward and hungry for the majority of the time. For us, it was a bad experience, but I can imagine if you share the dishes like little appetizers (which might be an interesting date idea) or go alone, and youre okay with waiting over an hour for food, itll be alright. *I strongly advise against coming here as a group*.
I loved this place where I tasted very surprising, but delicious dishes. I highly recommend this place.
To be honest, the food was over priced for the portions received. For $48 I thought the trout would have been more than 13 inches. The meat was also flavourless which added to the disappointment. I will not be returning to this establishment ever. Your money is best spent elsewhere. If you re spending over $100 you better be leaving full. Salt & Brick is not one of those fine dining restaurants that you go for the dining experience. It s nothing special.
So, first of all I would like to apologize I cannot bring this rating down with 0 stars. This place is an absolute joke of an establishment. How can people physically enter the building expecting to get fed when its a minimum 20$ entrée and they RECOMMEND 1-2 PLATES a person and you are not full or satisfied. Trust me, save your money because the hallway of a new restaurant is a joke. Up the $ signs to 4, and save people the TROUBLE of booking a reservation that apparently is booked for the weekend. If you are Carey Price, and feel like you have money to burn, feel free to stop by and get mediocre food and mediocre experience.
Waited for over an hour for our food table was sticky and it didn t feel like they wiped it off.
Good food, abysmal service, went in for a special dinner with my wife, and took over an hour to get our 1st dish, ordered a variety of dishes with a couple like a charcuterie board coming last, definitely weird as you think you would be able to serve that in far quicker time and as an appy and before some of the main/entree items, service also seemed to avoid our table as they knew we were frustrated, could of tried to resolve issues definitely need better service
We worked with Casey & James in planning our May, 7th 2022 Kelowna wedding. They went above and beyond to reassure us through the ups and downs, and planning of our big day! They are extremely professional with amazing customer service skills. Our guests raved about the food and how delicious it was. On top of the food being DELICIOUS, the service was AMAZING. You can tell all of their servers and bar tenders are top notch with lots of experience and training! Their team is dependable, creative, and super accommodating. They also helped us create his/her drinks to add a special touch to the wedding day. There should be zero hesitation in hiring this team for your wedding day or any special occasion!!
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of having Salt and Brick do our wedding catering at Oak Estate Winery. We cannot count how many guests told us it was the best wedding and best wedding food they had ever had. The first bite of food I took of the day was an ahi tuna cup during our cocktail hour - It stopped me dead in my tracks and had me SO excited about what was to come. The food and bev experience was so important to us and they truly made all of our dreams come true. James Addington was so detail oriented and cultivated a true relationship with my husband and I. He really took the day to the next level and we cannot wait to connect with him more around town! Highly recommend Salt & Brick and their sister restaurant, Jacks.
Absolutely delicious food to share tapas-style! Highly recommend the brussel sprouts!
All of the food was absolutely amazing! The staff were lovely and very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely recommend checking them out!
I m not sure I can get everything out that is amazing about this place, I also went there and I didn t take pictures as to not be apart of the Instagram food crowd for a night and embrace the experience fully! What an outstanding two hour dining experience from top to bottom! And with a lake view. A different menu every night, with only two staples: the Brussel Sprouts and Charcuterie Board (get them both). Everything else is a masterful creation as if you were sitting in a food network kitchen. The food arrives at different times and adds to the ambience. What a very cool, different, hip, and taste extravaganza my experience was! A+ to the team!
Had an amazing birthday dinner here-shared a few plates paired with lovely wines. Amazing food and service, great experience!
On Saturday night we hired Krissy to host a private dinner at our home. She was absolutely incredible! She cooked a beautiful mussel dish as an appetizer. I ve never enjoyed mussels so much! We felt very comfortable with her in our home and she made our night very special. Highly recommend her!!
Great staff. Good drinks. A fun place to try.
Incredible atmosphere - very impressive meals! They have a rotating menu so on this one we got the vegan pasta which was the most delicious pasta! (The chef was able to make some things vegan and wrote on the menu, they said normally they have more plant based options) The braised rabbit which was 10/10. And the beef and broccoli which was a very large portion! We had such a fabulous time here, service was wonderful, it was cool we could see the chefs cooking our meals and the seats were comfy! The menu is designed to be shareable so they ask you upon ordering if it s okay if everything comes out when it s ready. Which was nice for communication and expectations. Overall HIGHLY recommend!
We had an amazing time at Salt & Brick while in Kelowna. Amazing service and great food.
Outstanding. Each dish was equally an experience. Tried the broccolini, cauliflower curry and duck breast. Definitely coming back Vegetarian options: Most vegetable dishes are vegan
Salt & Brick was recommended by numerous individuals. That being said, I had high expectations. The scallop ceviche was excellent and left us wanting more. Between the two of us we had a maximum of 5 bites. The remainder of our dishes were over seasoned and underwhelming. With the 45 wait for our first dish, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a dining experience of this calibre. Overall the experience left us underwhelmed and disappointed.
Unique, tasty, well crafted, and filling dishes. Will return next time in Kelowna.
Lousy service at the door, basically was ignored while I checked in for a table for my wife and I. Poorly manged in my opinion. Never had the opportunity to even try their food or drinks. WONT BE BACK!
I wouldn t waste your money.
Thanks to your reviews we went to try out Salt & Brick and it was amazing! Our server was very welcoming, friendly and took time to explain the menu to us. We learned that the menu changes daily depending on the fresh ingredients they have. Each dish we ordered was unique and tasted great! I regret not taking more photos but it looked so delicious we dug in before we remembered photos. Definitely hope to be back, especially to see the new creations they come up with!
This little place had some awesome ambiance and the staff were attentive. The food was incredible and hats off to the chef for some amazing creations. This is a must go to restaurant!
One of the best oxtail dishes Ive had. Menu changes daily..
We had a reservation, but stood at the door for almost 5 mins before one waitress pass by to tell us she will be right with us and she never came back. We didn t order drink because have to drive, but we felt discriminated against by your reaction, why if we don t drink alcohol we don t belong to your restaurant? They never refilled our water during our 2.5 hour stay. Food was ok, but your service ruined the experience.
This place is supposedly one of the top 10 in the area, hugely disappointing. All the food were underseasoned taste is bland, the one dish that they claim to be always on the menu is the brussel sprout, the dish consists of about 20% brussel sprouts the rest is filler like grapes and POPCORN, guess they are trying to be creative. Well first time and the last.
The experience was not that good. Even if you have a reservation and they have seats inside, they will insist to have you outside because apparently they will still have more customers. Meaning you will not be good for them to seat inside. Thank goodness the food is great thats why I can still give this place a 3-star even the service is not that good. Specially receiving a dirty cup of water from them with no apologies. The place is a little bit small and there were a lot of people who wants to dine. You must try this place for the food is really good but a little bit expensive though.
After arriving we were rather sceptical of the menu and had never really had a tapas meal before. The 3 choices came one at a time and somewhat slowly. But no worries. Then the salmon wellington arrived and was the size of a loaf of French bread. It was outstanding as were the other two plates. ( scallops and asparagus each served in a sauce that was to die for). The service was also phenomenal. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable and engaging. The experience was truly memorable. Jason and his team are second to none!
Great food, drinks and atmosphere!
The duck here is amazing.
Great food! Worth the wait! Good people and concept. Thanks for 2 great meals!
Great spot for a chilled dinner. Menu changes daily so recommend going for dinner earlier rather than later to make sure they haven t run out of one of the dishes you want. The risotto and the salmon were very tasty and the service was great.
Delish! We had a Charcuterie board and the pickerel.
The chefs are super nice, the food was decent, not head over heels for it. Our waitor was really cool and got our drinks fast. There were flies flying around were the chefs were cooking which was kind of gross.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Loved the whole vibe of the place. Did not disappoint!
We order 2 dishes and took forever to come and when we see the dish we supposed to get, the server give it to the table that came way after us, we waited for an hour and only have one dish(we waited another 10 minutes after our first dish and they clearly gave what supposed to be ours to the other table) we informed the server and she came back with some attitude saying this is a shared dish type of restaurant so we gotta wait for the second dish a bit like really??! That s the answer? We literally can see the whole thing running around in front of us and instead of trying to make us feel better after one hour waiting she had to throw us with it s all our problem that we didn t inform her we want the dishes to come out together. To be honest as a server myself, I always inform customers what to expect in our restaurant. SUPER Disappointed
We didn t try the food because the kitchen was closed, but the people working there weren t friendly at all! Passed us several times without mentioning that they don t serve food so we won t stand there wondering!
Wonderful steelhead trout shared dish with polenta, tasted great. Service was very attentive and friendly. Full bar with local wines. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Menu changes daily. Share plate format. Reservations recommended. Food tasted great. Service impeccable. Parking: Street or parking lot nearby
Great staff and great food. Would highly recommend.
Excellent food. Wow that is all I will say. Go and check it out. New menu everyday so have no idea what to suggest.
They have the passion on the menu. Daily change and creative. Although the girl refused to serve me lol. She said she is all on the bar....but the other girl came and offered us with options. We sat in patio, facing the water view, enjoyed the food and wine. Cheers everyone, recommended your visit.
Wonderful small plates with excellent wine selection and amazing service.
Lovely patio setting. The food was full of unique flavours and combinations (Brussels and popcorn, for one!)
I ordered 5 dishes from the menu. The server told us they change menu daily basis. However, the dishes were assembled with left over food or food that has to be gone by the end of the week. The steak was served with roasted baby potatoes, whole grain mustard, sauteed mushroom and demi glace. AND bok choy and gai-lan(not sure if it is gai-lan but im sure its one of the asian vegetables) which DO NOT pair with other foods. Brussel sprouts was served with POP CORNs. Mac and cheese was served with hot- cheetos. 6 deep fried tiger prawn was served with tomato puree that tasted like cholula chipotle sauce. Half of roasted yam with couple cubed hams on the top. If it was a street food or something, sure, play with it. BUT it was a RESTAURANT. $75 for a 10oz striploin, $25 for Brussel sprouts, $32 for Mac and cheese. $29 for SIX pieces of prawns. $25 for half of a yam. You can get a case of a yam for $25. So disappointing. It could have been better with such a high price.
Fast and friendly service. The food was great, all food was fresh.
Love the unique food here, great for sharing and date nights. Its a bit pricey but worth it for a special meal out. Can be very busy as its a small place so just make sure to make a reservation in advance!
Absolutely wonderful place with an amazing assortment of local food, ingredients and wines the menu changes daily, the service was fantastic, inviting and attentive.
Great intimate space; love the vibes and the ever changing menu. Bonus is they only feature wine from the Valley, our server Tori was super knowledgeable and guided us towards a solid pinot that paired well with our meal. Also try the Brussel sprouts, quirky wierd combination that worked! Apparently this dish was featured on the food network!
Tori and Amber made it feel like home. 5 starts.
Lovely, cozy spot! Tori and Amber were fantastic. 10/10 recommend!
Wow! Amazing food and upbeat atmosphere. We loved dining here with friends. Be prepared for share plates, packed tables, and delicious food. The Brussels sprouts tasted better than candy. The steak was cooked perfectly. It had my taste buds dancing and asking for more. Make sure you reserve a table, this place is popular and delivers a great punch on quality.
