Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Shop in Kelowna

I havent been to the actual brick n mortar location in Kelowna but I bought some of their Doukhobor Borscht, frozen, from tbones in Vernon and it was SOOOOOOOO soooo good. I just picked up some Hobo Soup from there again today. Cant wait to try it. Its a lil pricey as far as frozen soup goes, but you cant beat the quality and taste (as far as I can tell!). Cant wait to visit the shop in person! Thanks Little Hobo!

Every time I come here, the staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. The food is definitely made with love and it shows.

Kelownas (not so hidden) GEM! The staff are absolutely lovely and greet you by name and are always so friendly and welcoming. They are always open to making accommodations for myself and my friends (vegan) and have some of the best soups in the city. Today for lunch i had the creamy tomato, and it was THE BEST TOMATO SOUP ive ever had. No exaggeration. I love this place top to bottom and am grateful to have such incredible business owners in our city! Thank you Little Hobo Team!! Vegetarian options: Vegan cheese and mayo!

Nobody does customer service like little hobo. Walk in the door and you feel like a regular. Every single staff member has a smile on their face and floor staff made a point of refilling drinks, checking in on how the food was and preemptively bringing a takeout box. The food? ALMOST better than moms. Everything feels home cooked and made with love. My favourite little spot in Kelowna for a quick lunch.

I wanted to come here for so long before I finally got the chance. Crystal at the counter was so sweet, the food so fantastic and so he at atmosphere was so amazing. If I worked downtown I would be here every day.

We went to there a few days ago, It was pretty busy. I was impressed your welcoming vibe and the foods. Our foods came out hot, we tried it after got home. It was my first try to Hobo soup, I was like WOW...! and the big portion of Sandwiches. Love that. I will try burger next time.

Stopped by here on my drive between Banff and Vancouver and they have the friendliest people there and just some good no nonsense sandwiches. Recommend this to anyone around the Kelowna area

This is the best soup and sandwich spot in town!! It was so good that we went back again the following day. The first day I had the brisket sandwich and mulligatawny, the second day I had the traditional turkey sandwich with stuffing, and cranberries with a loaded baked potato soup. Everything was amazing from the quality and quantity of the meat, the right amount of sauce, and perfectly toasted bread. The soups are some of the best I have ever consumed and Im a self proclaimed soup connoisseur. The soup was also nice and hot which can be a big let down at many soup establishments. Krystal is a lovely host and does a fantastic job explaining the daily specials and menu options. She also will remember your name which is a nice touch. All of the other staff are very friendly and attentive. You can also see right into the kitchen which is always a plus for me. Do not sleep on this place, for this style of food it is BCs best!!!

Can not say enough about this wonderful gem. Food is fantastic every visit, Crystal and staff are like family, atmosphere feels like home.

Crystal is a god among saints. She is the kindest, sweetest person I have ever met. She goes out of her way to make everybody feel special and even entertains the children who enter the store. Above all though, she runs a tight a ship with the best pierogies I have ever had in my life. Their cheesesteak puts the entire city of Philadelphia to shame. Unreal food and service.

Excellent service, busy but efficient, had all 4 of my kids with me and they were kind and thoughtful, bringing ice cubes for the hot soup, asking which veggies the kids wanted on their sandwiches. Kids each got a free cup of soup too! Dog friendly patio, food was excellent.

Soup flights are a great way to try a few of their tasty soups at once. New moms get soup for free if youve got your baby in the stroller with you !

This little soup shop is by far one of the best places to go in Kelowna! The staff is unbelievably friendly and sweet. The food is amazing and you get a good amount for what you pay. The shop itself is super cute and cozy 10/10 would recommend! :))

Such a great variety for frozen meals and soups to take home. It was a hard decision! Have yet to try my purchase however judging by the delicious sandwich I got to go (classic Reuben) I have no doubt they will taste amazing. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming, the staff were so friendly. First time visitor, certainly won t be my last!

This was our first time here. Shortly after we entered, the cashier greeted us. She was friendly and helpful toward me, my wife, and our kids throughout our interaction. She told us soup is free for kids, and she even cautioned us against certain soups for them, knowing they may be too spicy. We waited about 5-8 minutes for them to finish our order. The lady who gave it to us was friendly too. My sandwich was a grilled roast beef with cheddar and onions. I give it about a 4, since the meat was somewhat dry. Their fries, however, were a 5. They were freshly cut and fried fries with the right amount of salt for me. My wife felt they needed more, though. My wife gives her cold turkey and cheddar a 4, since she felt it needed more flavor such as an aioli. My kids enjoyed their grilled cheese sandwiches. My daughter even enjoyed her soup, which included cream, mushrooms, potatoes, and dill. The atmosphere was decent, since it was a small venue and it was congested, which made it difficult to find seats and stay cool. There was nothing remarkable about their decor, but we took our food to go and it was packed with people, so we couldn t see much. Overall, we give this place a 4.5 and we would eat here again, because the food was good, their staff was friendly, and their service was reasonably quick.

Ive been to many places and this has got to be the best place in kelowna for absolutely amazing service from people whom you can tell love the business and their customers and just as fabulous food obviously made with love and stealing your taste buds hearts a must try if you havent, you will not be disappointed Today I had the ridic burger, Ive tried ever burger in this town but this was hands down the best burger Ive had and coming in at 17$ for a fully loaded burger with all the fixings you could ever want on a burger including a fried egg Its very obvious the owners are living their passion and purpose Blessings to them their staff and their business Thanks so much for the Best Burger in town at a great price with extremely amazing service. We ordered a soup with cream in it but were unaware (allergy) and once the soup came the server brought a new one without cream over for us and left the original for us without allergies. large portions and affordable! If I could give it a bonus star, I would. The interior is cozy (mom and pop shop vibe). The staff was super friendly... Probably the most friendly overall because everyone working was engaging, smiling, and cheerful. Food was simple but delicious. Even the customers were having a great time. An absolute gem of a place run by the most kind people. Their hot meals each day are incredible, very made with love, comfort food, excellent portion size for reasonable price (perogy day and mac and cheese day are my favs). They also catered my friends wedding and did such an amazing job. Every single thing they made was 10/10. Kelowna is so lucky!

I cant thank the Little Hobo enough for catering me and my husbands wedding. They made the most incredible buffet for us. My family who came from the U.S. kept saying it was the best buffet they have ever seen and had. Days later, Im still getting compliments about how good the food was at the wedding... but those compliments belong to the Little Hobo! Thank you so, so much for everything!

It was always a favourite lunch spot while I was in college around the corner and it s still a favourite to this day! I now buy their frozen soups so I can enjoy them any day at home when I have a craving!

What a wonderful place with a staff that are like the family you didn t know you had! My cousin took me to lunch here as she knew I would love it with our Polish heritage. We had the pierogies and they re some of the best ones I ve ever had. It came with 3 massive pierogies, sausage, sour cream, and this rich sauce that comes on them. Had a great chat with Crystal and can t wait to return. They also offer frozen dishes and soups, which I had to get few. They were very busy and I understand why. Highly recommend!

Local gem that is only open during limited hours on Monday through Friday (10 to 2). Very friendly staff who come to your table often to check on you. Had the Bacon Swiss Burger, which I had to eat open faced as the beef patty was very thick (definitely dont skimp on the meat). The bacon retained its crisp and wasnt greasy. Also had the Hobo Soup, which was very hearty with thick chunks of vegetables and some ground beef. The Cheesy Broccoli & Cauliflower Soup was equally as flavourful, thick consistency and full of ingredients. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring out the food to you. Theyre great at remembering who orders what, to bring patrons the correct order where you choose to sit (as the staff dont provide you with table numbers). They dont have many smaller, private tables, but offer more communal-style seating. Homey atmosphere. Would come back and recommend!

Amazing little family run restaurant here for brunch. Hearty home style soups for the cooler weather and great homemade burger patties. Staff who work here are super caring and nice. Offered me a spot to sit right when I entered the restaurant, as she had seen me with my crutches. Will definitely come back

We had nothing but good things to say about this spot, but our only sore spot was their poutine is not made with cheese curds. We are fussy because we are from back east, it was still amazing. When you walk in this place, you know this has been a local institution for a long time. The staff are so nice to regulars and first timers alike. I told the lady at the counter Ive never been here before. She made some great recommendations for me. My sandwich and french onion soup was delicious.

Well I thought the Hobo Borscht soup was good then I tried the Hobo everything soup it was delicious then today I sampled the Split pea and Ham and only wish I had ordered a large, OMG it was fantastic along with a toasted Cheese scone what a wonderfully delicious lunch AGAIN!

Googled a good place for a clubhouse between Kelowna wine touring and this place came up. The service was amazing for take out. Really fast and friendly. The food was so good. The pirogies were humongous and delicious and the clubhouse was also stellar. The fries were sneak worthy as well.

I love this place. The food isnt gourmet - its home cooking, but fresh, reasonably priced and seems quite healthy. My pops and I love to meet here for lunch! The service is miles above anything else in Kelowna - they set the bar here!!!

Agree with the reviewer who said it s the soup and sandwich shop we all need in our lives. Friendly, efficient staff, delicious soups and sandwiches in an old school, comfortable space. Great value too! Fortunately they also sell frozen soups to take home, which we will buy next time we re there.

this is the best place to eat in kelowna! i grew up here and moved to montreal years ago, but every time i come back to visit i make sure i eat here at least twice (if not more). despite all the great food options in kelowna, theres something special about the hobo that puts it above the rest. thanks to all the staff for the wonderful experiences!

Such a score with my fussy guys! My 3 years old ate his Beef barley soup so well (and hes hard to please) My husband loves a good sandwich, but is often left disappointed. NOT HERE! He couldnt stop saying how good his sandwich was. Next time, well share our chili fries. The potions are generous, and everything was delicious. Hands down, absolute BEST lunch spot in town! They are only open during the weekdays for lunch and it is packed! It may be busy but the service is amazing. The staff are all so kind, our kids love coming here. The food is *chefs kiss*! Soups are always a good choice, make sure you try a biscuit! Cant say enough good things! We are so blessed to have such a great establishment in the downtown core. Kid-friendliness: They always make the kids feel special!

Honestly, from top to bottom- everything here is phenomenal. The owners here are delightful and hardworking, and greet you with perfect customer service every time. The Reuben here is one of the best I ve had in my life- I highly recommend grabbing it. I d give it a 10 if I could!

Excellent food and service with from young moms with babies to seniors and whole families and a table of young executives. Dietary restrictions: They had run out of gluten free bread so they went out to buy some so they could make me a sandwich!! Delicious by the way!

I dont know if I would say that the food is amazing here, I personally find it a bit overrated. But the service is fantastic and I did really enjoy the burger patties. Overall, I would recommend simply for the novality of the place because the atmosphere is quite interesting.

Little Hobos is an absolute must visit in Kelowna. We visited firstly last year and the staff are honestly the nicest people you will ever meet. They gave us recommendations for things to do that afternoon. The food is splendid. Real home cooked good food. This year we returned to the same amazing food and staff. Upon departure we got given branded stickers !!

Very disorganized, people standing around, one till open with 15 people in one line up needs help !! Get organized!! Take advantage of people wanting to buy your food and have 2 order lines or some traffic control didn t stay for lunch no one needs experience confusion and frustration on their lunch break like the gong show here!
