Just ate here with my toddler. They were so nice and welcoming and generous. The food was delicious and they have a lunch menu! Thank you so much.

The Pad Thai was delicious. The curries were very small portions for the price. The drinks were reasonably priced. Portion sizes could be a bit bigger.

Thank you for your hospitality and great delicious food. I will come back once I am in Kelowna again. One of the oldest Thai restaurants in the area.

Great staff an great food

It s only 8:30 pm June 6, 2024, i was gonna order for a dinner.. they didn t give me a chance to be seated. They Said they closed at 9:30 pm this day. Im hungry. They said you can do take out. I will eat here cuz i will be waiting for my friend anyways. I wasn t been given a Service. This RESTAURANT SUCKS. I feel discriminated.

Dropped a hundred dollars for two. Appetizers were microwaved and very chewy, entrée was cold, but they microwaved that too. The entrée didnt come with rice, that was extra.

Decided to do takeout pad Thai yesterday afternoon for Mother s Day and I have been sick ever since. VERY GREASY!!! I ve eaten here many times and the food has been good, but this time the quality was really not up to par and tons of grease at the bottom of the noodles. In fact, all there was was a little bit of sauce, grease and noodles. Not a fan anymore

Some of the best Pad Thai I have ever had! I tell everyone I know who comes to Kelowna that they have to check out Mon Thong Thai and have yet to hear of anyone not loving it.

Just finished eating at Mong I sent the first order back because it just wasn t right the taste the smell wasn t what I expected. No big deal. They brought me a second dish but then the lady started coughing the whole time I was eating at the end of it. I couldn t finish my meal I asked for the bill I did not tip and felt completely grossed out that someone kept coughing that loud the whole time I was eating right beside me, I will never go there again no matter how good the food was. I won t go again after getting treated like that. Sunday, March 3 at 4:30 PM 2024 can you imagine you re the only person in the restaurant and the staff are sitting beside you and they are all hacking their lungs out like they just got over the cold or they are sick and working which is absolutely terrifying when you work at a family restaurant. thanks for absolutely wrecking my appetite and making me feel disgusted when I was eating.

Excellent dinning experience

Absolutely love their pad Thai. And their spice level is on point! If you like spice and a lot of flavor, I would highly recommend this place. The staff is also also very friendly and courteous. my wife got a meal that was a little bit too spicy for her taste, and brought out a whole new meal without the spice.

Chicken satay and peanut sauce are unbelievably good

I ordered a gluten free pad thai. I asked for utensils and that was missed so i was worried the gluten free celiac note was also missed. I called and the manager reassured me it was okay. She was nice. But i paid extra for shrimp and ate only one, as they tasted off and smelt funny too. I was quite bummed. The pad thai itself didnt taste good either, perhaps because it was made as gluten free but if they had to change it that much, i wish i was told and i wouldnt of ordered it. For a $24 pad thai, it was not worth it. If I wasnt starving and I hadnt been delivery, I would have returned it for sure. I only ate 1/3 of it, boooooo

We have been enjoying the delicious cuisine at Mon Thong since they first opened downtown on Water Street over 30 years ago! They have never disappointed any of us (retired downtown employees)! Their Pad Thai is the best I have had anywhere in Western Canada and Western USA. The Cooper Rd location is convenient for our get togethers and the parking is free!! Mon Thong is one of our favourite restaurants in Kelowna - and the Pad Thai is the best. I wont even order it at any other restaurant, because its never going to compare! Prompt service with very tasty freshly made food. We enjoyed the drunken stir fry, green curry and spring rolls. All were delicious! Tender meat and crisp vegetables. Definitely get the coconut rice with your meal. We will eat here again if we visit Kelowna.

Went there for supper on a Sunday evening 1 table was seated when we went in. Another couple was seated after us. We then waited 10 minutes for water and was never asked if we wanted something else to drink. After another 10 minutes went by the table that was seated after us was getting their order taken. When the waitress came to take our order it was very clear our food was going to be wrong as did not understand what we were ordering from the menu. After another 10 minutes another waitress came to ask us what we had ordered. We repeated everything and was ok when it came out. Will not be going back there again. Poor service and the food was over priced for what u got.

Within one month we went twice to Mon Thong. We will not be back. First time a group of six went, food was not bad, but not outstanding or exceptional. The second time four went and only one of us had a good meal. I have made better Pad Thai myself at home. The noodles were glutinous and gummy, like they had been sitting in the kitchen for hours and the dish had none of the usual garnishes. Kua Gling was just a bunch of minced meat, peppers and carrots, not very appealing looking. Prices are slightly lower than usual for a Thai restaurant but not worth it.

Went with my family of 4. Son loved this place. Server didn t write our orders down, hence the food came out wrong. When we told her this, she gave major attitude but did switch food out. For the rest of our meal the servers were extremely rude and unprofessional. Also bathrooms were extremely dirty. And my daughters Pad Thai was old and starchy. It s to bad it used to be a good restaurant. I recommend taking your business to Zabb.

After trying many thai places in Kelowna, we always come back to Mon Thong for the taste (high on my priority list). Suggest a pad thai, no 31, 35 and side of rice noodle or rice

Used to really like the Pad Thai. We got some today it was soggy, overly sweet, the shrimp was disgusting and overcooked. Tofu was OK. I didnt return it because I was in a hurry. This will be my last visit.

Pad Thai tasted so strongly of ketchup. Not authentic tasting at all. No peanuts. 3 small shrimp. Tom yum soup was very small and was pretty much only onions and broth. Server was lovely though.

In my opinion our family didn t like this style of Thai food. Very sweet and nothing like I have ever tried before. We ordered pad Thai ( not a fan). We ordered Pad priew waan vegetarian and got chicken. I should have read the previous reviews.

Ordered through door dash and wasnt even given my food and then when I called was told they wouldnt do anything to remedy it. Not impressed.

Place was at about 25% capacity. Once the food was ordered it took a long time to come to us. One person in our group had her meal delivered 10 minutes before the others. Our appetizers were delivered after the main course.

Very disappointed as this used to be a favorite. Pad Thai tasted like canned spaghetti, was supposed to be 4/5 chilies but was tasteless. We have been coming here for upwards of 12 years on a monthly basis. Last night we had a new server who was outstanding!! Major upgrade! The entire energy of the restaurant has changed.We Always enjoy the food. There is no issue there, but what a difference when the person helping you is personable! 5 out of 5

We ordered Wonton soup for delivery. It was hot, fresh and just delicious! Definitely my go-to place for wonton soup now. We look very forward to trying other dishes in the future. $14.50 per soup is a little steep for 1 person. Very, very good though.

Legitimately the worst Pad Thai I ve had in my 44 year life. We joked it tasted like canned spaghetti, and another reviewer here said that too!!! What are the chances! Seriously, ownership, if you read this, you have to be brave enough to make a change!! Service was great however.

The were closing at 10 and we arrived at 8:30pm. They kinda didnt want to let us dine. And they rushed our food which I blieve was the reason why our food quality was bad. The girl at the door was very polite as eell as the asian man who I guess was the owner. I know they can do better thats why I gave 3 stars.

I usually enjoy coming to Mon Thong. Good food and great price. But today I was surprised by a huge hair on my food! I was really frustrated because the food was actually good but finding a hair on your food is just a terrible experience. Not sure if I ll come back any time soon.

My food was good. I had coconut rice and a cashew chicken vegetable dish with amazing flavor (cant remember the name) the thing that was odd was the staff fighting in the back, at one point yelling and telling then they can quit If they want and to get off there phone etc. I pretended not to notice but never seen that before. I hope my next time is more enjoyable

Chicken Satay was one of the best I ve had. Super tasty and they probably have one of my favourite peanut sauces too. Yellow curry on coconut rice was also amazing. Their best feature is they are open later than other Thai restaurants which is why I went there. Google says they close at 10, but waitress said 9:15. Definitely will return!

order 2 meals with noodles, my partner and i said these noodles taste like they were old and reheated. 1/2 way thru our meal and checked the reviews and another person said there food was the same way ..

I have now had three separate instances where I ve ordered takeout/delivery dishes specifically indicating NO ONIONS due to an allergy and on all three occasions the dishes came with onions. I called and put in a complaint, they remade my dishes but the dishes delivered last night for example still had onions and was beef instead of chicken. I am very disappointed because I specifically go there because I love the taste but now that this has happened 3 times I feel I will need to find a new Thai restaurant.

Was surprisingly unimpressed by this Thai restaurant. The servers were un-communicative and unknowledgeable about their own menu. The food was tasty, flavourful... But no authentic. Good for a meal but not great for true Thai food or service. (expensive for what you get!)

The most impeccable restaurant and service I have ever had! :) The most heartfelt beautiful owner, the two sisters are absolute beautiful souls and the food was top tier! Would gladly come here every week and enjoy a nice dinner and a movie date at the theater right beside :) Would recommend and would gladly pay for someones meal so they could experience this masterpiece in kelowna! Our family of 6 came to dine in the restaurant. Food was excellent! The service was pretty bad. It was like they had no clue how to take a order . Didnt even ask if we whated anything to drink. Lipstick on a clean water glass. Looks like different owners again ! Tried it a numbers of months back. Same thing, food was good but different owners maybe again. Service was really bad again. Maybe just get take out from this place. Although we sat near the front & they seemed to be having alot of trouble figuring out the take out orders as well. To bad , because its good food. They just need someone to help them to learn how to run a restaurant.

Pretty bummed. Payed $18.75 NOT including tip for pad Thai and it was not very good. I ve been getting pad Thai for years and know what good pad Thai tastes like. That was not it. I understand I came at a weird time in the day, but that shouldn t be a reason to serve mediocre mush.

It was my first time ordering. The Pad Thai was decent, but there was a long black hair in it :( I understand accidents can happen, but admit its a bit off putting.

We ordered no.32 Bamboo shoots & pineapple in a yellow curry sauce with beef but hardl to find the sliced beef in the dish. No.43 is stir fry vegetables in house Thai gravy sauce w chicken, fair portion on the chicken but , again ... the portion of rice noodle so little on the dish ! Because we had a curry beef dish so we ordered a bowl steamed rice. They only filled the rice to flat level , not a regular portion as other Asian restaurants. The portion for their dishes are not well balanced. It seems they want you to order extra noodle or rice to complete your meal that should not happen if you order 2 main dishes.

This is my first ever review. Have not been here in a long time (pre covid). I do not know if they have new chefs or owners but I have never been this disappointed. To begin it is probably easier to use menu numbers rather than the exotic names. First, our 2 orders of pad thai #41 came with chicken instead of prawns. Of course I did not check until I got home with the kids so kind of on me. I called immediately and explained that I received the wrong meat. Her pleasant response was no you ordered chicken. I respectfully corrected her and asked if they could deliver 2 orders quickly if possible. She then asked that we do not eat the other 2 orders and give them back to the driver. I have never had this asked before. However, I think Ive only called about a pizza where the side garlic sauce spilled on the pie in the box. But all good we were not eating it. Just hope its not getting used again. The next item #29 the drunken meat. It was so salty that it burned my tongue. This item was tossed into the garage can. Next was one of my original favorites. Number 24 spinach, peanut sauce, chicken etc... this one was sadly horrible. We literally had 4 pieces of spinach not the usual bed of spinach. Moreover, the sauce was so watered down it had zero flavor unlike the usual rich sweet peanut sauce I was used too from Mon Thong. Lastly, the portion of the rice for 3 was probably the same amount my daughter eats in one sitting. I was shocked when I saw the size. The bill was $100.80 and I gave a $20 for a tip on a pick up order so...very respectful. On the whole, this is my last visit to Mon Thong and I hope they seriously look at fixing these issues in their house. All this aside, please know the staff were all great and polite. This is strictly a food issue.

Was keen to try some Thai food in Kelowna so checked this place out. Unable to sit inside due to covid restrictions so ordered out. Ordered the pad Thai, presentation was nice but had a very weird after taste. The lady knew we were wanting to sit outside in the tables but she didnt give us any cutlery so we had to go back. She also forgot to charge us for a coke. Overall not the best experience, would recommend to go to elsewhere that can manage the basics.

We will eat here again. Good food and good, friendly attentive service. Nice atmosphere and a roomy restaurant.

Ordered dinner for a group after a day of wine touring. Food was really authentic, fresh and delicious and perfect for a summer evening meal. Portions were good and prices were very reasonable. The owner even delivered the food himself knowing that we couldnt drive to pick it up! A fantastic local business with super food and great owner. Highly recommend!

When I lived in Kelowna this was my absolute favorite restaurant and I always went to the one downtown. As I was passing through again, I was excited to get some food to go as it had been a few years. Unfortunately when I called the one restaurant the person who answered was unable to answer my question about fish sauce due to a language barrier and kept trying to comply my order without me saying what I wanted. I got frustrated and hung up to call the other restaurant in the mall. The guy I talked to there was really helpful and we got my order sorted. Unfortunately once I got there to pick up the food the girl at the front was playing on her phone and took like 5 mins to realize I was there, then after I paid for my food and left I realized I was missing part of my order. I returned and the same girl told me it was never ordered then answered the phone and proceeded to talk to the person on the phone for 10 mins before getting back to me, after which she informed me they could make me a soup but it would take 15 mins. At which point I just left. Unfortunately the service all around was sub par to my memories which has always been amazing in the past. Thankfully the food was just as good as I remember, its too bad I couldnt have my favorite soup. Maybe in another 3 years.

Overall, food was tasty but the portions are small for the price. The bill was $80 after tax/tip and our group of 4 people were still hungry afterwards. The big problem was we have severe peanut allergies which was mentioned to the server. One dish came with peanut sauce which was served on the plate, with items touching the peanut sauce. Please be more mindful of this when a severe alleegy is mentioned to you!

We ordered Pad see-eew and it was horrible- dry and very expensive for what it was. in Thailand they would maybe sell it for 2 $ max. unfortunately it was really not good. We ordered Larb and for 14,50 we got a small bowl of meat and 4 pieces of salad. We will never order again.

Was a little skeptical upon arriving at this restaurant as it was super empty on a Sunday afternoon. They have a Canadian spice scale from 1-10 and a Thai spice level which is considered a 13/10. We ordered a 9 spice for all of our dishes and it was a perfect level of spice. Was similar to a 4/5 spice at Bai Tong. The pad thai was super favorable and rich. Would definitely come back

Mon Thong is the standard for Thai restaurants. Its always a crowd pleasing experience. They do seem to have some variable quality. Its always good, sometimes amazing, sometimes just good.

The older man who seated us got my order wrong and his beer pour was less than stellar. The young staff people appeared to be new at their positions and I thought they did well. The prawn appetizers, ordered by the other person, were very tasty.

We picked up our $90 order and drove 5 minutes to our house. When we opened our 2 orders of Tom Kai soup we noticed the inside of the styrofoam containers were melted and deformed, and were scared to eat the soup. I called the restaurant right away and was told to bring in the containers for a refund. Also because they wanted to discuss it with their supplier. (We of course were short of food for our meal with our guests.) When I brought the containers in they had me speak to the owner on the phone and he would not honour the promise of a refund. No sorries from him, although the Scottish employee was apologetic. The rest of our food was mediocre at best. Will never go back!!

Pleasant experience, nice meal

Was just there for my 60th birthday dinner. The food was good. My Tom Ka Gai was delicious. The service however was absolutely terrible .Somehow, three guests at our table were completely forgotten about.It took almost 2 hours for them to get their orders. We were all done long before the other three got their food. My husband never did get his rice. The Scottish fellow said he would give our table a discount due to the mistake.Then our server disappeared and no one else came to give us more drinks or even ask if we wanted anything else. We just sat there wondering if we should just walk out. We did not get any discount, just a five dollar off at our next visit. Only one five dollar off card per bill. Not acceptable at all considering we will not ever be back. Very bad form guys, very bad form.

Our perfect evening was spoiled by greed. After watching a movie in Orchard Plaza Cineplex theatres we decided to go into Mong thong restaurant for a drink. As we entered we made it clear that we are here only for a beverage. 5 minutes after we were served the waitress approach us claiming by law we cannot have a drink with out ordering food. Ive been a restaurant owner with a liquor license for years, to my knowledge there is no such a law thats forces people to order food while having a drink so I approached the lady in charge to explain to her that plus we are only here to have a quick drink and a visit with my lady friends and we shouldnt be too long well be on our way the second is finished our drink. Came back to my table and the waitress followed me and stood in my face asking me that I need to order food so I gave her two choices 1) finish the drink pay for it and leave 2) since we hardly touched our drinks yet we can get up and leave without paying... she stood there staring at us making us so uncomfortable we decided to get up and walk away ... on top of it we paid for the drinks that we didnt even finish. This is for Joe the owner. I know very well, my friend and I are regular customer at your restaurant. if the action of yours staff is a result greed you just lost not only one customer three family that order your food on a regular basis and if theyre action was out of them having no knowledge of the law please educate them. This place is great in prices and so much flavour . The owner comes to greet you and gives out a coupon for the next time you visit . I enjoyed my dinner .

The food here is sooo good. Ive tried 3 different curries and the pad Thai and Ive loved every meal. The waitresss here are very courteous and tolerant of allergys (gluten). Only place I go for Thai food!

The restaurant owner and staff were very accommodating and friendly! Food was absolutely delicious and authentic-tasting. #30 with tofu, #34 with chicken, Thai Salad and Wonton Soup were great

Four of us ordered three dishes to share and what a delight. By the orders going out through the door you could see that people really enjoy this restaurant. Hope to see them again soon.

The food is always fantastic of course, But the reason for this review is after an incident where we ordered delivery, and none of our coconut rice arrived. We called to see what options we had, and then 20 minutes later the owner of the company literally showed up at our door with extra rice and his apologies. It was fantastic service

The pad thai has a ketchup dominant sauce making at a little to sweet and is a little to pricy for what you get, its not horrible but for a thai restaurant their pad thai should be a bulletproof dish

Great Thai restaurant! The food and service is fabulous! We enjoy going to the beach downtown and then going for supper here!
