103 Main St S, Kenora, ON P9N 1T1, Canada
Great little place I stopped at because I needed a break on a long drive. The coffee was big and good, and the breakfast panini was quite well done. Bathroom was spotless.
Amazing coffee place. A lot of different types of coffee, tea and beverages. Cozy atmosphere is here.
Amazing food! I love chicken with Curry wrap😍! They are very welcoming! Food is super tasty! Best for the price.
Sandwiches are tasty but a bit pricey. $16 for a chicken caesar wrap and $13 for a Tuscany beef sandwich. No prices listed on the sandwich menu so you find out how much when you order.
I ordered the Breakfast panini with bacon and a Caramel Iced Coffee ☕️ so delicious!!
Great coffee! They have pumpkin spice lattes and they offer oat milk for vegans / non-dairy people. Delicious!
Sandwiches are pretty good. Actually great. And large enough for two meals (for me). Still haven’t tried my coffee but it looks promising.
On my travels east last week, I discovered this treasure of coffee culture and so I am back on my westward return! I don’t think I have ever tasted a better breakfast paninis! Awesome coffee and friendly folks! Thank you HoJoe’s! Barry Adams, Alberta.
Great place for a coffee on the patio with the dogs.
Just awesome.
This is a nice coffee shop that serves hot sandwiches. Good enough for casual lunch.
Cute little eatery with friendly staff and really good food.
Convenient eatery just a walk away from dentist. Great food, great service although prices are quite high.
It was cozy, and the food was great!!
Totally mind-blowing good! I always love it! I love this friendly and among staff
Great sandwiches!
Very friendly. Great place. Knows my order
Delicious food and DELICIOUS PIE
Very cozy atmosphere. Excellent customer service. Endless options for drink and food items. 100% would recommend! Definitely going back.
The coffee was good. But the place is very overpriced. Got a sandwich and a latte and it ran TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS. Thats wildy over priced. The sandwhich was good but not $20 good. These pretentious hipster coffee places are way out of hand with their exorbitant prices. If you want good coffee or tea but dont want to have to take out a 2nd mortgage, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Spirit Oak has good coffee and tea, theres a starbucks in town, etc... I will say tho, the lady working behind the register was nice, and the service was good, just the prices are crazy. Definitely not worth it.
Small town coffee shop
I am currently enjoying one of many London Fogs. We love going to the HoJoe!!
Always a smile on their face. Amazing small business and their New York High Rise is amazing
grumpy owners
Such a great cafe! The Kenora Mist tea was delicious, and their outdoor seating is so cute. Fully recommend.
We came in looking for fresh pressed juice but this was no longer offered, we had originally planned to leave if there was none however the owner and staff were so friendly we ended up ordering. The blondie latte with white chocolate syrup and whipped cream can be iced and it is delicious!
Delicious coffee, right downtown. Free parking by the lake. Nice friendly staff.
Expensive treats
Amazing customer service, only 2 people working there right now, but they re doing great! I m not from here and it s the best coffee I ve ever had, they also have my favourite pie I highly recommend coming here
Has the friendliest staff who even offered to watch my dog while I ran in to grab a something to eat. Had probably the best chicken wrap I have ever had. The best cafe I have stumbled upon on my road trip!
After having a horrible experience at a different venue and still starving, my daughter and I decided to go to HoJoe. It was incredible! The Godfather sandwich and chicken ceasar wrap were bursting with flavour, hot and just delicious! I would definitely go back! Service was top notch too 10 out of 10!
If you are looking for great coffee, you have found the spot. Come in and try from their menu. You ll love it!
Great service, good coffee, loved the breakfast sandwich. I loved too that they readily made a recommendation to another local business when we asked about breakfast options. What was available at HoJoes was perfect for us!
Very sad veggie option for the wrap, avocados were bad
Good chai tea lattes! Friendly service and cool vibe! Always stop in when I m in Kenora!
Great staff and fresh treats
Service is excellent food and beverage awesome, nice atmosphere, I highly recommend this place.
I should have listened to the reviews before coming here! The food and drinks were mediocre at best and over priced for the quality. None of the staff were wearing masks (despite the mandate). I also ordered my drink half sweet but it was still sickeningly sweet. When I asked the barista about this, she said that she had heard us order it half sweet but hadnt actually bothered to reduce the syrup in it... I almost never bring back food but we couldnt even finish our drinks. I wouldnt bother getting anything other than a drip coffee here.
Owner was rude. Came in to charge my laptop, bought a coffee and scone then was told to unplug my laptop because we dont provide power for laptops. No where was it stated that there was neither wifi or what would remotely resemble a courtesy from the owner. They may be the only cafe in town, but thats no reason to give service to people a if they have no where else to go.
The staff are miserable, hopefully if you ever go here you dont have an issue with your order or you will get yelled at by some grumpy women.
Artisan coffee this is not. Neither a comfy atmosphere for some comfort food. All we wanted was a well crafted cappuccino after home brew all August and we we so disappointed.
There were no prices listed on the board so when the panini I ordered turned out to be $15.50 I expected it to be pretty good. It was the simplest thing Ive ever eaten at a cafe. I asked why on their website this panini is listed for $7.50 and they said thats wrong and its because it comes with chips, dip and a pickle (I hadnt noticed the sign that said all sandwiches come with this because it wasnt on the menu I ordered from ... The chips were definitely the Noname gross ruffles and not great dip either. The panini itself shouldnt even cost $7.50 and why on earth a few gross chips, dip and a pickle should bring the price up 8 whole dollars, I have no idea. I have eaten so many places and this is one of two times I ever complained about food. I gave them their chance to redeem themselves but they just said sorry. Lol
Chai latte was one of the best I had and services was excellent
Great food selection. Your order is made fresh! Nice little shop in Kenora!
Delicious grilled sandwiches. Coffee beans that I bought there werent the freshest, but the coffee does brew a nice cup. A bit pricey, but I guess they are a small business surviving Covid.
Excellent latte, and delicious, full of goodness sticky cinnamon bun.
Outstanding sandwiches, & its always great to go in and see what baked goods the ladies are offering today. Its a must have; I was busy at work for 3 days and realized I hadnt eaten much lately, so whats better than Ho Joes? These sandwiches were like they fell from Heaven into the hands of a starving man. Many thanks!!
Love this place ~ always stop in when in town and the staff is always ready to help ~ crazy good food and beverages!!
Ive been stopping in here quite regularly for a dirty chai latte and a sandwich, how to say its been excellent service each and every time
Great local coffee spot with the best apple fritters. A Kenora hidden gem! Looking forward to more Stormin Norman iced espressos and strolling the Kenora Harbourfront.
Not bad but expensive! Sandwiches were ok (except the Italian parma ham was definitely just sandwich meat!) and staff were friendly but paid over $44 for 2 sandwiches and 2 lemonades!!
Came in to purchase a cappuccino and a cold drink, walked out with a delicious cappuccino, a refreshing, and not overly sweet Lake of the Woods lemonade (had frozen blueberries, fresh mint and rosemary), and the best apple fritter Ive had in a long time. Excellent service. Glad to find this spot in Kenora!
One of the employees was very condescending to my partner about staying out of an area in the front part of the coffee shop. Please remove signs on plants that say touch me because they are misleading and block off areas that are not accessible to the public. Other than that awful experience, the other staff member was delightful and the coffee is delicious.
For the price paid, 5 star meal was expected. Unfortunately ingredients used were very sparse and quality of both food & beverage was not a kin to the price point of ordered meals.
Tasty food and friendly service.
Its open early and the breakfast sandwiches are
Love their choices .Everything was delicious.ill be going back.
Yuck lol
Not a place to work/study! Extremely dissatisfied. My wife and I went there to do some work... Ordered a tea and looked for a spot... Only one outlet in the whole place... No problem, well just sit there we thought. Within seconds of sitting down, the owner rushed over and told my wife harshly that, we dont provide power to customers... Those are for the Christmas lights The Christmas lights werent on... And there was an extra outlet even at that. ok.... I guess well just stay until our batteries run out we thought. Shortly after that realized they didnt have WiFi either. Since going there Ive come across several other people who had similarly bad experiences (e.g. Getting kicked out after an hour). Clearly not a place they want people hanging out... Get your coffee and go, or else! Back to Tim Hortons I guess? Personally Id rather support small businesses... At least ones that appreciate their custumers.
Good coffee, good sandwiches, great staff!
Great sandwiches and best coffee in town.
Great grilled sandwiches and coffee. :-)
I like the grilled cheese
Hands down you best coffee and snake option in Kenora. Quick and friendly! Food & coffee is nothin crazy but it s reasonably priced and great when your in the go. Way better option then stopping at a chain.
My wife and I sat outside for 3 minutes finishing burritos and planning to go in for a coffee and dessert after. An employee came out and passive aggressively suggested we were mooching by sitting outside and not buying anything and should move along. Decided to go to the chocolate store across the street instead. They have fantastic coffee and dessert.
good place for a quick snack or lunch or talk over good coffee or tea drinks
Great cuppa joe...
Over priced but good
Tried the Mexican hot chocolate and the portion was generous, with decadent taste. Needs more seating!
Good food but no wifi
They make the best London fog Ive ever had
Great ambiance. Coffee wasnt great (Americano that was too weak).
Service was really nice, the Americano was made correct and tasted delicious. Nice atmosphere. Would be nice to have some Wifi
Great Italian sandwich, perfect latte, and awesome service!
Yummy and innovative local coffee shop. It definitely blows the competition out of the water!
Great spot to visit for a quick meeting, street parking or park in the public lot next to city hall.
Such great coffee and lemonade!
Great coffee and breakfast panini
The only cafe in kenora! No WiFi loses out but nice staff and decent brew. So they got that going.
Need to get free wifi
Slightly expensive, but very friendly staff and the atmosphere is super cozy. I would have given this a 4 star review, however they got rid of their free wifi service, giving the excuse that they are too small to offer wifi. They used to offer it and yes, people did stay for the wifi, but a cafe is a classic spot to sit quietly while working or checking email - having wifi at any eatery is always a bonus. For a coffee shop, its almost needed. People come in on their breaks and want to be able to tend to personal affairs through email or other personal sites. Another common use is online banking, I cant recall the number of times Ive needed to go online to deal with banking issues while Ive been at a merchant. Its unfortunate HoJos felt the need to shoo away all the wifi free-loaders and its one of the reasons I stopped buying my coffee here. There is a quant cafe just around the block that offers wifi and has gained my loyalty all thanks to this decision that HoJo made.
GREAT coffee shop on the main drag.
Very warm welcoming staff and a cozy atmosphere!! Great maple latte!
Good food and friendly service. Nice atmosphere.
Unfortunately the kale salad (which looked so amazing!) was unavailable during this winter season, so I settled for the veg out wrap which was tasty but not stellar. My partner however had a fantastic meal of the baked potato soup with the curry chicken wrap. We were very pleased to find puffed wheat squares on the counter as well which are always a nice treat :). Would recommend for travellers looking for a quick but healthy lunch stop.
Not the nbest coffee in my life... But a good stop to have a small break on the road.
Still the best coffee place in kenora! But smaller book selection :(
This place was open and the food was delicious. Great service, friendly helpful staff. When we go back to Kenora we will stop in.
Good coffee and tasty treats. Clean space.
Love coming here for a hot or cold latte anytime
God coffee and treats. Clean washrooms. Good service. Not much for seating.
Friendly staff and great coffee and treats!
Good food! Good service!
Alright place and good atmosphere. Menu could use a change or some additions. Been the same for years.
Friendly joint with good coffee for our long drive, great breakfast panini
Loved the atmosphere of the ladies working here! Coffee tasted wonderful and so did the food. They have a cool selection of sandwiches., like Paris Anyone and Ham It Up. My first time in Kenora, and the vibes here made me really enjoy the city.
Cozy welcoming atmosphere, wonderful staff, delicious food and coffee
I like going here but I wouldnt say its anything to write home about. The coffee isnt bad and if your hungry they have a decent selection (though I havent tried anything from here)
Great baristas and friendly service. Perfect pour Americano every time. Try their sandwiches!
Friendly staff, delicious real iced coffee and the food smelled great, although I didnt eat any.
Had an awesome experience! Staff was kind and funny! Excellent drinks and food! A nice cozy and warm place to come! Thanks HoJoes!!!
As a visitor to Kenora, coffee at HoJoe is nothing to write home about. Atmosphere is OK, and I admit its convenient that its walking distance from the harbor front and the Wednesday market. They have a very slim selection of books in the bookstore. I cant say Id go out of my way to go there again.
Atmosphere is welcoming. Staff are pleasant. A wide choice of beverages are offered. Its a favored stop on maln street
