loved wing night, best in town

Ive been going to the Log Cabin my entire life. They just keep making the place better year after year. Wings night was great, with the full sized wings and flavour options.

Havent been here since I was a kid, but I recall service was good along with the food

Busy spot on a Thursday night. They accommodated our big group despite being busy and not having a reservation. Great atmosphere, large portion sizes and fresh pickerel :)

Tried somewhere new that my girlfriend Lori found online. A little out of the way but a great venue. Lots of seating when we showed up but soon filled up. Looks like a popular place. The surf and turf was great. Service was great too.

I havent been here in over a decade, and its as good as I remember, wings were great and the service was great, even when they are super busy. Took cinnamon bun cheesecake home and it was fantastic, highly recommend it.

Bit tricky to find for a out of town tourist the place was recommended as a good place to eat. The food was great service was fast washrooms clean. Should advertise a bit so the out of town folks can find the place as its not that far from the highway. Would be worth the stop. I ordered a salad for takeout and received no dressing. Terrible takeout service. I was disappointed when I called back that they didn t offer a refund in return. Dinner ruined.

We dropped in our favorite Log Cabin Tavern and it did not disappoint. Our server packed our dessert for the road . This place is truly a hidden gem . The walleye tacos were way more than a appetizer. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely dinner once again.

3RD TIME!!!! SLOW LEARNER. WELL . FOOL ME ONCE. SHAME ON YOU. FOOL ME TWICE. SHAME ON ME . HERE WE GO A 3rd TIME. BEYOND SHAME NOW The place was near empty on a Saturday evening. People are obviously learning. STAY AWAY!! The onion was still $15. I ordered Liver and onions. I got no liver. I really mean to say I got potatoes and carrots with one thinly over fried liver for $28. Gravy extra $3. Really??? This will NOT HAPPEN A 4th TIME. Saddly we referred some friends who attended that same night. They said they would prob not return. Their bill was over $100 with a two and 3 year old. First time. Service was prompt. We had a long wait for our dinners. Prices seemed a bit extreme. $15 for an onion. Not happening and never. Second time. We revisited again as the food is pretty good. However this time in the patio the smell of SEWAR was pretty over whelming.

Probably havent changed their fryer oil in a long long time. Its the first thing you smell when you walk in.

Wings were on special, so I got two pounds. They count the whole piece as one wing, so that was 12.

I ordered a kids meal just cause I wasnt wanting to spend much, it said it included a small soda and small sundae, the meal took over an hour to arrive, I never got a sundae and had to ask for a drink. I was asked if I wanted garlic bread with it so I said sure. The one small slice of bread I got was an extra charge of $9.00!!!! Absolute scam.

If you want to enjoy the food nice and warm, I recommend eating it at the place because if you order to go they messed up really bad. Second time we order to go and they barely add chicken in my large salad and they forgot to pack my dressing I really love this place but they need to fix the orders for to go.

The servings were very large. Had the blooming onion..fabulous!! A 10 oz ribeye...done to perfection with carrots,mashed potatoes etc.. We shared this entre and it was plenty for 2 people . Service was quick and friendly..great wait staff.. Food : 5/5 |

Really cute restaurant, clean, good food! The only problem was when we got there and the person was speaking on the phone for at least 5 min, so a waitress came and helped us. The person by the door didn t care about us there. The waitresses were really good and the drinks good too. The foods and drinks are a little pricy but at least it was good.

The meal was very delicious thanks to their cook. The place was very interesting. Also not sure about their name, doesn t sound very child friendly.

We enjoyed our evening here. We had family in from out of town and chose to take them to the Log. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and very accommodating. Kid-friendliness: There are many options on the menu for children. The freezer had broke so our children did not get their ice cream. The menu says that childrens meals come with a drink but when the bill came, we were charged $3 per childs drink. The waitress let us know the owner is in the process of changing the menu. (The menu still states that the drink and ice cream are included).

We had delicious meals for dinner. Loved my Prime rib and Strawberry Margarita.

The restaurant tends to be busy, so staff are overworked. The ribs and prime rib are excellent.

Waited forever for waitstaff to come to table, longer for water & menus. Even linger for nlooming onion. Way over an hour for food. All items were wrong. No compensation for any of this. Need to get rid of lousy music when restaurant is full.

Only one waitress, who was overwhelmed with at least 12 tables. Luckily, she had some help from the kitchen staff. However, still had some long waits for our lunch and drink refills. My chicken and feta with artichoke sandwich was good but my dads fish ( 2 smaller fried fish pieces and chips) was mushy and had nothing except fries for $20. My Mom only had an appetizer for her meal and water and with tip it came to over $100 for all 3 of us, including one soda, a coffee, and one dessert. The dessert, an apple crisp , was also soft and mushy, with no crisp to be found. I dont agree with other reviews that the prices are reasonable. Found it very pricey, especially for lunch.

We waited 15 mins to be served after being sat, my two friends food came out almost 15 mins before mine, I didn t get my starter, and my food was wrong after i waited, so my friends food got cold. We waited over 10 mins for drinks, food was okay, but service was so bad it ruined the whole experience. I m a server myself and know how stressful it can be when things are so fast paced, but it could ve been dealt with better.

Food and service was decent. Like many other establishments in Kenora, there s was an obnoxious group disrupting the whole restaurant that should have been at a bar or lounge. Not great for a family. The servers were friends with the group, so they didn t do anything to keep it under control.

Must try this place! We stopped in to the Log Cabin Tavern (without reservations) for the first time while in Kenora for a Saturday night. The hard working staff immediately greeted us with smiles. We had a bit of a wait, but expected much longer considering it was a full house. We were treated very well, the food was amazing and it was overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend and will be back if were ever in town again.. but next time we will call ahead Thanks for the great date night!

Incredibly helpful and friend staff. Amazing patrons, where I struck up conversations with almost everyone, service side and other patrons. I heard so much about this restaurant and I have to say, no one mentioned how amazing the staff were. I shall correct this and say, the food is top shelf with highest quality staff, front to back! Inviting cozy atmosphere, out of the way and lots of food options to choose from. Why are you still reading this?! Come by and see/taste/interact for yourself. You want be disappointed.

Long wait for food. Fish was overcooked, vegetables undercooked. Waitress was pleasant and apologetic. But general attention to cleanliness was lacking.

Busy place food was good.

I want to love this place, but I ve never spent this long in a restaurant. Granted it was busy when we got here, the restaurant emptied out soon after we arrived and service continued to be slow. We were never asked if we wanted refills. Our starters that come with the meal were forgotten about and came out after an hour of waiting. My salad was soggy, and our server rarely came back to check on us. The Mains were really good. But service was sub par. Truly unfortunate as this could be an amazing establishment.

We had our family reunion here and reserved the venue for the evening. We had a choice of prime rib, stuffed chicken, chicken fingers and a vegetarian meal. Included were salads, veggies, cheesecake and a late night poutine. Everything was great and the service was exceptional! Kudos to the kitchen and bar staff for making it a great event!

It was the slowest service I have ever seen in my life. My experience was not pleasant at all. As a Food and beverage person, I can say loudly, don t go there and expect to be happy. We followed all the protocols and we were treated badly. Here is the story; We called and reserve a table for 2 at 6 pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:50. We were told to wait till they arrange a table. After 15 minutes waiting for that table, I asked for the the owner / the boss to talk to. She told me I don t know what we can do, as you see the restaurant is full . Then why do you have the reservation system, I wondered. She said we are the only restaurant in town who takes reservation. Clearly don t know how to manage it! I preferred you don t take reservation and I take my chances. Finally after 20 minutes waiting and arguing she found us a table. my waiter came to the table after we were setting for 10 minutes. At that time, We knew what we want to order, we ordered an appetizer to share and 2 main courses. The appetizer took 35 minutes to arrive to our table and the main course arrived 35 minutes after the appetizer. No eyes on the table- no water served No clearing the appetizer No offering an other drink - we had to ask the wait staff for every thing; water, another drink, and 3 times for a hot sauce. The table beside us- had to return their wine glass 2 times because it was very dirty. A women beside our table complained to the wait staff that a table were not cleaned at all before they sat another couple at it. It s gross and discussing she said. But the positive thing is my wings were cooked perfectly but the kitchen need to go through order time Managment if this restaurant can survive. G

Ordered appetizer, soups and salads and entree. A couple entrees came before the appetizer so they took the entrees away. Pretty sure the appetizer was not punched in. Appetizer came, onion was good. Two people ordered salad, two soups. Salads came and then we were told there was no more soup, table beside us who came in, and ordered after us got the soup. Entrées came, the two entrees we received before the appetizer, pretty sure they were reheated or kept in the warmer. Service was sporadic as well. I know the industry is struggling for staff, hesitant to return

We eat here all the time. It has mini-golf for the kids, so it keeps them busy (during summer months anyways). The service is hit or miss recently due to staffing shortages and new trainees. However, we are pretty patient. And because we eat there often, we know what we like and want. I recommend the blooming onion. And the wings are pretty awesome too!! Prime rib is delightful. I always get the almond chicken, YUM... ohh, and the cornerstone salad and wrap are amazing! And the cheese cake, omg omg, try the cheese cake! mmmmmmm Parking: Lots of parking!!

Great food and great service ! The place has a warm rustic decor with a bold country and cabin theme - deer heads at the entrance ! Seating is nice and even though we went on a Friday night we didn t have to wait for a table. Highly recommended to reserve in advance for weekends. We tried the blooming onion and the walleye and they were both delicious . Would be back again

One waitress remembered & served 40 meals & all were to the correct people. Seating was a little everyone had a great time at the function. Bathrooms were immaculate. The entire staff were very professional. Would highly recommend this establishment to everyone I know.

Very disappointed with Log Cabin. Cannot comment on menu, ambiance or service because we never got there. Made reservations for supper which were politely taken. Called in to let them know we were on the highway and were going to be 15 minutes late. Again cheerfully understood and acknowledged. And then just as we are approaching the restaurant after traveling close to an hour from Sioux Narrows area, we receive a call that says they must cancel our reservation for 6 or delay it by an hour and a half due to an error made at the desk. Although very frustrating for our party, mistakes happen. But very little apology, no offer of some recompense - just nothing. Thank you Boat House for finding us a table, and delicious food at the last minute!

My wife, daughter, and I visited here September 5th 2021. I ordered the veggie burger and garden salad, my wife got a quesadilla, and my daughter got the kids menu pizza and cesar salad. We could not eat inside. Not for COVID-related reasons, but because the tables in the restaurant were all reserved, so we opted for takeout instead. The veggie burger patty was black bean based. I love black bean burgers as generally speaking they have a nice strong spicy flavour. This black bean burger managed to be quite flavorless. The sauce that they put on the burger, presumably to add flavour, was miniscule. It was such a small amount that I had to search for it to make sure they didnt forget to put it on. Due to all of this such the burger as a whole had little flavour to such an extent that I was surprised. My wifes quesadilla was soggy and falling apart, and the usual condiments for quesadillas (salsa, sour cream) were not provided. The quesadilla was cut into rectangles strips rather than the usual triangle shape that one would expect, which when combined with the soggy nature of the quesadilla made it impossible to keep the ingredients inside of the tortilla, so my wifes experience was essentially a taco salad with soggy tortillas, and no sauce. My daughter didnt have any complaints about her pizza and cesar salad, but shes two years old so its tough to get a good sense of what her experience was like. Generally speaking, our experience with the food was bad, but I am willing to admit that perhaps we didnt order things on the menu that the restaurant was good at making. In other words, someone might not want to eat here if its to eat the particular things that my family and I ate, but perhaps other items on their menu are much better.

This experience was amazing my food was great and my wrap was perfectly wrapped and the presentation was awesome bravo.

Enjoyed dining here and they have excellent tasting meals. Were here with some friends out from Toronto and they also felt that the food was very flavorful.

We had family visiting from GTA, came for a meal and had an amazing server, everyone enjoyed their food. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover theyd added gluten free options (Im Celiac) to their menu since Id last been. Thanks for giving us a delicious option for a meal out, Log Cabin! We love it!

Rating is as high as it is due to the delicious food. Prime rib beef dip with provolone and home cut fries was so good; DH was very happy with his chicken and ribs, taste and generous portion size. Highly recommend the food; do not recommend the ambiance. Ive been in a McDonalds play area that was full of noisy, excited children and found it quieter than the noise level in this restaurant and it wasnt even filled to capacity. My husband and I were sitting across from each other and we had to yell to try and carry on a coversation; neither of us has hearing problems. Do yourself a favour and get your food to go. Would not recommend eating in.

If you love wings this place is a must stop. Dill pickle and sweet chilly are my favorite. Service is great too

Wednesday is Wings night at the Log. The restaurant is open to half capacity during to the pandemic ( Aug 5, 2020) and has three different choices for seating, inside; in a large screened porch; and the outside patio. Plenty of parking with an overflow lot up on the hill behind. We ordered a variety of beverages which were served promptly. The meal was delicious, with appies which came out hot and a variety of wings. The wings were cooked but werent piping hot, although they were spicy and flavorful. (Hence the 4 stars - there is room for improvement). The other entrees were hot and were tasty. The staff were very pleasant and efficient serving and tidying the tables. I would personally recommend the Log Cabin for meals as always.

Service and food speed: very good. Food taste: sub par. Pretty sure the sauce on my not-very-fall-aparty and dry ribs was 40% tomato paste 40% vinegar 20% I dunno, ketchup? By far the least-delicious ribs Ive had.

We drove from Regina to Kenora and settled we were having takeout from Log Cabin. We had spinach salad with vegen tenders and veggie burger also steak sandwich and ceasar salad with chicken wings. They were so friendly and were great with all of our modifications! Would highly recommend!!

It seems the food is hit and miss as if one cook is really good and gives great food and the other does not care.
