251 2nd St S, Kenora, ON P9N 1G2, Canada
Went in for the all you can eat. To be honest, I have been to various all you can eats and the service has been ok, however it was wonderful here. Used to go to various all you can eat sushi places in Winnipeg, but this place beats them all! The pricing is very competitive, the rolls were all fresh, tempura was amazing and the place was very welcoming. Will be back here definitely more often. 5 stars!
Ordered Gyoza to go. It was phenomenal and exactly what I was craving. I will come back soon. Enjoy your vacation! P.S I would have added photos but I ate the food too quickly.
Visited the restaurant for a quick lunch and wow, love the food. There are a bunch of vegetarian and GF options which I appreciate a ton. Quick and friendly service. Miso soup - 4.5/5 Wakame salad - 4/5 Teriyaki chicken roll - 5/5 Veggie special roll - 5/5
Your paying for Rice. Dry old Rice. Can't believe I spend 155$ on this, don't even Bother if You know what Good Sushi tastes like. My husband's Sushi was actually Rotten, the cucumber or something tasted like rotten Potato. And again the Sushi was mostly Rice... such a waste of money.
3/5 Stars: Decent Sushi, Nothing Spectacular This sushi spot offered a standard menu of classic rolls and sashimi. The fish was fresh, but the flavors didn't stand out. Not quality or quantity. Service was friendly. Overall, it's a decent option if you're craving sushi, but don't expect to be blown away.
Great food and great service.. we had a variety of starters and sushi plates..all of it totally worth the spend. Feedback given on the ripeness of the avocado was instantly taken into account and rectified in the next order. Would definitely go back for more.
The food was solid with great presentation! Really enjoyed the homemade gyozas and volcano roll! The one downside of the restaurant was the questionable bathroom in the basement that doesn't have a door
Amazing tasting sushi! Came from Winnipeg with my family to spend the day here and tried out many rolls and dishes. Very high quality, lots of seating, & friendly owners! The sashimi is the best we've had!! Owners told us they will be expanding the menu to include brunch and are now open 7 days a week! So definitely keep our eyes open!
Went for all you can eat can t even order things you want. They force you to order big portions of one thing and then you can t sample anything else or else pay extra for leftover. Food was quite bland for sushi place.
Great service and friendly staff
Excellent sushi. Great friendly staff and a great vibe. Will be back!!
The quality of Sashimi and Sushi were exceeded my expectation, tempuro taste good, also I have to say the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend my frds to go! :) Food
Amazing sushis! will definitely go back
It was really good, staff and service was exceptional. Kid-friendliness: The drinks that I got was very kid, friendly and fun Food : 5/5 |
Great updates to the inside, looks great! New menu as well see pictures. Food
I was really craving sushi today so figured I would give this place a shot. Ordered the assorted tempura, a volcano roll (because of the reviews) a spicy shrimp and a chicken teriyaki roll. Slightly pricey but not crazy, I believe the bill was $52. Tempura was decent, however the sushi was very dry the chicken teriyaki roll looked like it had a piece of chicken finger in it, avocado was extremely soft. Spicy shrimp had a small piece of shrimp in it and very dry rice once again. The volcano roll was decent but just loaded with mayo I was hoping to have a good meal but was let down, very nice customer service. Maybe it was an off day..
This has to be the best sushi Ive had!! Service was excellent and food was fantastic .. the home made gyoza are a must try!
This was our first time visiting and we had a very nice dinner here. The sushi was delicious and my kids enjoyed the Japanese sodas. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We will definitely eat here again!
The best sushi I have ever had
Always excellent, fresh food and great service
Great food, service is great too. Cozy atmosphere. I gotta say though, the ONLY thing I dont like about this place is the weird hours. I almost never get to go because it conflicts with my schedule too much and it makes me sad cause I love sushi, and their gyoza is to die for. If it wasnt for the weird hours this would be a 5 star review.
This place NEVER answers the phone
Food is great , staff are wonderful.
Delicious! Friendly service and fresh, gorgeous food!
Couldnt have had a better experience here. Great sushi and great service.
Good Sushi! The prices are ok too. The sushi does taste fresh. Seating is relatively easy to find.
Its the place for sushi!
Good price and deliciously sushi)
Great sushi selection and freshness
Every dish was wonderful.
sweet little sushi place in Kenora. Will definitely be back to try something new next time.
Ive eaten here pretty regularly since it opened. What can I say, the food is delicious and the owner is a cool dude I recommend it to anyone, even if you dont like fish theres great beef/chicken and veggie options
Always a great meal!
Might not look the best, but the Sushi is very good!
Dont take the party platter. Sushi are mostly made of tempura, its filling, but very disappointing.
Amazing sushi and friendly staff. Roy never misses!!!
The sushi is amazing here!!! Best I ve had! Better than any place in Winnipeg. It was worth the drive out! :)
If you vist Kenora ..must visit sushi 251
Always a pleasure to eat here. Authentic food, great friendly staff, Yammy is always a sweet and wonderful server Food
Easily one of my favorite places in Kenora, incredible food, staff and service as always! Since Covid Ive done more take out, however when I do dine-in its always a nice treat.
excellent
Honestly this was pretty good. Right now they re not open for dine in. It was hard to find a take out menu online to read from. They have a good variety. Prices are similar to other sushi restaurants in the larger cities.
Very good!
Very short staff but they make sure your food is served real well - - and they did!! Call ahead to order!! Try their special sushi!! Yum
So good! Great service and on time! Everything was very delicious!
I really loved all the food, and everyone was super nice. Im definitely going back there, I recommend it. The bathroom situation was a little odd though.
Awesome sushi!
good show
Had the AYCE menu last night - and it was amazing! Totally unexpected to find a great sushi place in the north, but such a happy surprise. Definitely would recommend. Expect a smaller menu than southern Ontario AYCE restaurants - but everything is well done. No sashimi/nigri in AYCE, but can order a la carte.
The worst sushi I have ever had.
A bit pricy, but its the only place in town, that being said, its always fresh, tastes good and the staff are friendly.
Be lost without 251 :)
It has definitely improved under the new ownership/management. But compared with the other sushi options out there, unfortunately it falls a little short.
The AYCE is a skip here. The main menu may be better, but the all you can eat is lacking. Charged the same price as standard AYCE, but the meat in rolls in about the size of pencil eraser.
Food was good, but took so long to receive and wasnt even busy
Best sushi Ive ever had. Everyone need to eat here at sushi 251
The only sushi in town!
Delicious great service always a great choice
Expansive menu with wonderful selection including sensational house rolls... They even offer all you can eat Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Excellent sushi we love this place
The sushi here hasnt let me down once. Great quality with fresh ingredients, and very friendly service.
Friendly, delicious and pretty place. Bathrooms are to be worked on, but overall very good sushi and miso soup
Im gonna give it 5 stars because they have absolutely delicious and on point sushi - especially the rolls. Attention to detail, good presentation, fresh, generous portions and decent prices. The only complaint? Its slow service. However, I think they know this and are advertising for more staff. Considering the circumstances, theyre doing the best they can with what they have - dont come in if youre in a rush, come in when you have some time, order tea and soup and chat till you get your food!
My girlfriend and I are big fans of sushi and decided to try 251 Sushi, the residence of Kenora recommended we should try it, and we did. At our discretion they said service is in fact slow, And it definitely was. We were seated and greeted right away, although once our order was taken we waited 45 minutes for only one roll. Another 10 minutes goes by and we received our scallops. Another 45 minutes goes and by we finally both got the rest of our food. Food is delicious, good presentation. The wait for our food was horendeous and the fact that it was 1:30 in the afternoon and was not very busy makes me appalled. As soon as PAYING customers were walking in the staff was complaining about people coming in, Giving THEM business. The reason I gave one star was because of the food quilty and presentation.
slow service, mediocre quality food (differs from regular take-out menu). Petty staff; tries to charge us extra for leaving literally one piece of sushi remaining after the all you can eat even though sushi orders only come in ~6. Never experienced this type of treatment at any other sushi restaurant i have ever eaten at in Canada. Won t be going back. Go to Winnipeg if you want an adequate sushi experience.
Love this sushi restaurant. Excellent quality, fair price, great service. I actually appreciate the unique bathroom experience making the most of an old building.
Came here on our way to Rushing River. The rolls were delicious. The volcano roll was probably my favourite. Some of the rolls we ordered were torched which tasted really really good. The only negative: We also ordered the sunomomo salad but ended up sending it back. Sunomomo salad always has a very light vinagrette with sesame oil and rice vinegar and stuff (and we have tried a lot of sunomomo salads) but this one had a mayo-ie dressing even though it said on the menu that it had a vinagrette.
Great food tonight!
Great to have a good sushi place in a small town!
So friendly, great food. Cozy atmosphere. Dont be afraid to try Kenora sushi!
Love the service and choices.
Really good food but I waited 60 min for the service.
A little bit pricey but delicious and worth the money
Not open during the time google says they were open waste of 2$ I had to put in the meter
The food was great, but the the service was slow.
Food was ok. Restrooms were poorly set up
Always good. Not a fancy place and bathrooms are.... lets just say an adventure on their own ha ha. But food is always great.
the food was amazing, but a bit pricey. Restrooms are not easy to get at for tall people and a bit inconvenient to access as well as the service is really slow. But overall still worth it
So good
Great food very good service really nice vegan food on menu
Great food. Great service. food prep area open and very clean. Hard working staff.
Very slow. The chef cooks food need one more hour. I spended 2 hours in this restaurant.(1 hour waiting for food)
Very good food, nice people. Needs better hours though
Fabulous food good service needs more money and customers but terrific food prep and quality
