Not to be dramatic but the best patatas bravas Ive had in my entire life.

Great experience in Keswick. Tapas was amazing, full of flavors and so fresh. Service is excellent. Highly recommend it.

We called in for a late lunch a d werent disappointed. It was extremely busy which we sort of expected as weve been before and know how good the food is. Its also dog friendly which is important to us. We were told about a short wait for food straight away but didnt mind a little wait. Food was really tasty, portions a healthy size and well priced. Vegetarian options available which are full of flavour.

Me and my husband went at the weekend on the off chance that we would get a table and we got one straight away, service was amazing, the staff are so busy but still make time to check everything is ok. Food and drinks came to us so quickly which is great when your hungry. The food along with the atmosphere is fabulous.

We had lunch here today, 4 plates of tapas and some drinks. We werent expecting much from the food to be honest, but each dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, really impressed. Dog friendly too so our JRT was welcome and even got a biscuit.

Never experienced such bad service. We were kept waiting outside in the rain when we arrived, on time, for our booking. When we were given a table it took 10 minutes for a menu to arrive with no offer of drinks. We sat, completely ignored, for another 10 minutes, still no drinks so we left. The place was almost empty too. Dont bother. The response from the owner is a lie. We didnt arrive early at all.

The food was incredible. Really reasonably priced for what you get but the hospitality, staff and atmosphere staff sets this place apart. This quite easily jumped into my list of favourite places to eat and I can t wait to go back. There is a wait to be seated but it s more than worth it! Wow

It was ok. Nachos were quite good but the rest wasnt amazing. The prawns were a bit of a let down. We ordered the food to come out with no bread as one of us is gluten free but it still came out with bread. The servers were lovely though they were very busy!

Me and my partner visited on our first night staying in Keswick. 30 minutes walk from our campsite (Castlerigg). Had the loveliest time. Tapas was incredible, especially the homemade meatballs, and the staff were so welcoming and made our visit extra amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Spent the evening in here with a few drinks and some food. Could not fault anything, we had several dishes and shared everything between us both where nothing disappointed. Quite a small bar and was very busy but that just added to the atmosphere.

Weve been to this pub many times and its always great. Waiting for a table is worth it, I recommend the nachos with pulled meat and session i.p.a.

I called here a few times in one day and the staff were universally excellent. Decent beer too, which is rare in Keswick.

Theres a reason that there are always people waiting outside for a table! the food is amazing and the atmosphere is so chilled and cozy, I will always choose this place for tapas!

We go here often. We love the coffee and the drinks, the inside is beautiful and atmosphere is great. The prices arent too bad however wasnt overall impressed with the pizzas. Barely any cheese and it slid straight off when picked up. One couple had a bunch of rocket thrown in the middle of their pizza and it looks rather unpresentable. Would order differently next time.

We had to wait a bit for a table, but we got to sit outside with a glass of wine so not bad a all. The food came out quickly and was delicious, we particularly enjoyed the haloumi special. The hostess/waitress seemed to be doing three jobs at once and was so lovely. Great location and food, worth waiting a bit for a table during busy times. We have been coming here for years when we visit Keswick, such a cosy bar day or night, great food, excellent choice of local beers, the music, great service and atmosphere. Brought some family today for their first time hoping they would like it and they were blown away by the quality of the food, the tapas were amazing, probably the best we have had including Spain! A hidden gem in Keswick. You can t book but it s worth the risk of just rocking up. A delightful server got us a table and let us know they were busy and there might be a wait. No problem. Great selection of drinks. We went for the tapas and it did not disappoint. Only downside were the group of four next to us who were doing some right moaning about how long the food was taking. The excellent bar manager offered them a free round of drinks which they turned down and carried on moaning! The manager halved their food bill and they left saying the food was marvellous and they couldn t wait to visit again. Great service in my opinion. Brilliant place, lovely staff.

Lovely little eatery. We had 2 great pizzas and nachos. Very busy, we got the last table (no bookings taken, so first come first seated). We had a great time.

Very small, nice atmosphere amazing looking food but waitress is rude and incompetent. When we asked for a table she said It ll be 40 min wait, you can wait by the bar or outside she never told us we had to put our name down, we decided to wait outside after 40 minutes and seeing people leave we decided to ask whether we can have the table and she said there people that put their name down for it. We were there first she made us wait 40 min to the tell us about putting the name down. We never got the food and very annoyed with the service, she tried blame it on her accent when she should have apologised and put us at the top of the list for next seating. Absolute Joke. Waste of time. I refuse to go back due to her attitude and incompetence.

What an absolutely awesome place! We dropped in here for lunch on the last day of our holiday and bought a combination of pizza, nachos and tapas to share amongst the family. Everything was truly outstanding! If it wasnt for having the kids with us, wed have happily sat there all afternoon, ordering occasional bits of tapas, sipping Belgian beer, and listening to the excellent playlist. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, great service. Well be back next time were in Keswick!

One of the best burratas I have ever eaten in my life!!! Delicious!!! I would add a little more bread but SPECTACULAR!!!

We were so looking forward to our meal tonight (my wife, my three sons and I). We ordered nachos as a starter, followed by tapas for the four of them and a pizza for me. We shared the nachos as expected. The tapas then followed for the four of them, while I waited. After 15 minutes they had pretty much finished their meal, but still no sign of my pizza. A look across at the staff confirmed it was pretty clear that a mistake had been made and that my pizza wasnt being prepared. However, when I asked about my meal, there was a blanket denial that anything was wrong, and indeed, I should accept that meals came out at different times and I should be patient (notwithstanding that everyone else had finished!). A simple apology seemed to be beyond anyone at the restaurant, and Im now left hungry and out of pocket, not only for my familys meals, but for the two drinks I had in the expectation of actually eating a meal tonight. Thanks allot. Not. Zero respect for me. 0/5.

I was deeply disappointed to learn about the discriminatory treatment experienced by a fellow customer at this café. It is unacceptable that the staff prioritized serving local customers while ignoring those who had already placed their orders. Discrimination of any form has no place in our society. I hope the management takes immediate action to address this behavior and ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for all customers, regardless of their background.

As a tourist to the Lake District, I ve come across the most rude staff in this restaurant.

Amazing find! We only went in for the drink selection as they had a good selection of beer on draught. It was very quiet when we were in and were made to feel very welcome. At 5 oclock on the dot within seconds the whole place was full. We had another round of drinks and then gave our table up to a walk in. After we left we instantly regretted it as they have a very good drinks menu but also probably the best food on offer in Keswick. We will be back on our next holiday and will be arriving at ten to five to ensure we get a table!

We ate here twice on a recent visit to Keswick. We were recommended by a fellow walker we met in the hills! We were outstanded by the food! My partner wants to know the secret to whatever the chorizo is cooked in!! Lovely food, lovely drinks and a lovely atmosphere! Having lived in Keswick for a number of years now, I cannot actually believe that Ive not eaten at the Square Orange until now!!!! I visited for lunch tapas with my wife for my birthday. Its is the most unique, and enjoyable dining experience Ive had in Keswick!. The food was perfect, the atmosphere was super chilled and the staff are amazing I would highly recommend a visit and we will most certainly be back soon. Thank you x

Myself & my partner decided to choose The Square Orange as our date night location during our holiday in Keswick this week, and it did not disappoint. It was busy every time we walked past so we thought it would be a good idea to book a table in advance but was told it was walk in only (which was fine with us!) When we arrived there werent any tables available on the main floor but was told we could have a small table for 2 down the back which suited us as it meant we were away from the noise of the floor (only interrupted every so often by people going to the toilet) The food was incredible and they had lots of vegan options (one of the reasons we chose it). We ordered a vegan pizza #15, vegan nachos, vine leaves, patatas bravas, and King prawns - all of which were delicious and plenty filling for 2! The vine leaves were a big hit with my partner, and I loved the nachos + patatas bravas, though all of it was delicious. The waiting staff were very friendly and checked in on us, even though we were tucked away. The music was great and the overall atmosphere was excellent. The only thing is that its a shame we were only there for our holiday, otherwise we would happily go here all the time! Vegetarian options: Delicious vegan menu!

We really enjoyed our dinner here; firstly the music, atmosphere and service was 10/10. There is a fab selection of drinks on offer: cocktails, beer, wine, coffee... We had pizza and tapas; it was high quality, delicious food. We particularly enjoyed the burrata with pesto, dunking in the ciabatta; and the chorizo which we paired with the baked figs dish. A great little business to enjoy anytime of the day!

We arrived because of the google recommendation and were highly disappointed. The cups were all dirty, and when they brought new ones, they were still dirty but full of the water they washed it with. The food was not very good as well. The pizza was impossible to eat because it was too dry and broke to pieces as soon as you tried to hold it. The tapas were not very tasty as well.

Tapas style food. Good ambience and good service. Food nothing to write home about. Nachos were ok. Gambia s were cooked perfectly. Chickpea curry tasted ok but lacked some seasoning. Patata bravas were fine. Baked figs were just ok. All in all decently priced and friendly service were the highlight for me.

What a fabulous place - no wonder it always seems packed to the rafters. We had tapas and nachos which were all delicious. The pizza also looked fab and a great range of drinks. The staff were also lovely even if some of the customers were a bit grumpy.

Lovely friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is pretty small, so we were offered hot drinks whilst we waited outside for a table. We were then called in and our order was taken quickly. There are plenty of vegan options including pizza and tapas and the food was really tasty and perfect for sharing. The venue is also dou friendly.

I have eaten here on numerous occasions. I love the food. After my second visit in one week we were very disappointed. When we were initially ignored, my friend then asked a waitress who had given menus to a couple who had entered the establishment a while after we had, for a menu. The waitress glared at her then with attitude snidely said yes. She then threw two menus at us onto the table! She was incredibly rude. Horrible, horrible person. So disgusting. My friend was understandably hurt by this reaction & we got up & left the cafe.

Great place for a nice meal if you make some effort to get a seat as you cant make a reservation here. It started with a friendly and helpful welcome from the man behind the bar. He explained to us how it worked, took down our name and gave us a timing that in retrospect made sense. With a drink we waited for 40 minutes under a pleasant evening sun. The food itself was great, tapas and pizzas. Meatballs with spicy sauce, fried feta and stuffed wine leaves were top dishes. The pizzas have a thin base and are very tasty. More than enough for two people. We found the service very friendly and efficient despite the crowds. Even the choice of music was great for us. Needless to say, we had a great evening for a fair price. If youre in Keswick, definitely do it, but take an umbrella in case you have to wait in the rain! Vegetarian options: There are choices provided on the menu Parking: There is no parking in the immediate vicinity. Use the paid parking lots further away or in the streets of the residential areas

Went for an impromtu meal on our 2 night stay i Keswick an loved the fct you could just turn up without booking and not long to wait with very tentative staff who were on the the ball. Great food kicked out at a good speed from the bar kitchen. Would recommend to all who enjoy good food and ambience!

Fantastic food with a great atmosphere and superb service.

Managed to get a table without having to wait, which was an extra bonus. Food was spot on as usual, staff cheerful and attentive without being over the top. After about 10 visits we finally tried the pizza. It was lovely, we shouldve tried them earlier. Dont know how they manage to knock out the quantity and quality of food from such a small cooking area.

Delicious tapas and lovely atmosphere

I return here every single excuse I get, the food is incredible, I try and convince my family to come here every year on my birthday! Best menu items by far are the pulled pork nachos and the Chorizo tapas. I would rate the atmosphere 5 stars, as the venue is beautiful, but it can be very crowded (as it should be!) So take that into account if youre visiting! Additionally to my current knowledge they dont take bookings, however they are happy to allow you to wait outside with a drink until a table becomes available Vegetarian options: Im not vegetarian myself, but the menu is well signposted and there are lots of tasty veggie options! Kid-friendliness: I regularly see families in here, and though getting a pram in may be a struggle, there are menu options that are great for kids. Patatas bravas, the chorizo, pizzas and nachos (ask when ordering to perhaps remove guac if your child is picky about green stuff) would all be good options for a young child!

My visit to The Square Orange Café in Kentish was an absolute treat! We indulged in their tapas menu, and I must say, the red peppers stuffed with feta were a personal favorite - bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. The stuffed vine leaves were incredible as well, a true testament to the chefs skill in creating authentic and mouthwatering dishes. And if thats not enough, their pizzas are simply amazing, with a variety of toppings to choose from. What makes The Square Orange Café even more special is the outstanding service. I like this place, I like the food and atmosphere. Its a very popular place to eat. Because its popular you may have to wait for a table. Myself I think its good value for money. Ordered Meatballs, latte and tea last Friday afternoon as a tea stop before heading to Lake District. Meatballs was yummy and staff very welcoming, despite narrow tables and benches. Recommended when you visit Keswick.

Now this place is amazing my new best place to go to food and service were second to none. Could not fault anything the food was plentiful and great taste great drinks and cheap to. They also have a vegan menu on the reverse of the menu. Hidden up a side street in keswick up from Gregs is the best place to eat in keswick 5 all the way

Had to wait a little while to get seated, but was so worth it. Once seated service was prompt and food was excellent. Staff all friendly. Couldnt fault it .

Still the best pizza you can get. Delightfully thin and crispy. Haven t been since 2016/17 and assumed it would never be as good but the bases are incredible. Still same high quality. Tapas are high quality and tasty. Buzzy atmosphere / vibe. Only moan is didn t like the fresh anchovies on the pizza. They don t work for me at all. I d rather have the tinned or jarred salty darker coloured ones in olive oil that I buy from Sainsbury or Waitrose: they work a treat on a pizza. The fresh ones are better with olives or on their own as a tapas. This is my favourite food in Keswick. Hopefully won t leave it 6 years till I come back next time.

Lovely little restaurant that serves fantastic food with friendly service. The restaurant is quite small - it feels intimate and very comfortable. Service is very friendly and relaxed, still efficient though. The food is outstanding. Some amazing pizzas on offer and the tapas dishes are spectacular. Prawns are superb. Highly recommended

Used to be quite good but the quality has really gone down. Our pizza base was more like a flatbread the olives were tinned, and the garlic was cheap and pre minced. For the price it was very disappointing and below average. Some of the other tapas were nice and the service and atmosphere were great. Please don t cut corners on a pizza when it s that price!

Great place in the evening for a drink

Our favourite place to eat when we are in Keswick. Brilliant choice of tapas and pizzas (weve yet to try the pizzas because the tapas are sooooo good!). Fantastic friendly and helpful staff and a lovely atmosphere make this a place to go back to again and again.

Hands down the best place in Keswick for food. If there s ever a wait. It s worth it. Adam & Genna should be so proud of their business & staff. Absolutely faultless. The only reason I rate the atmosphere 3* is that we had a table right next to the toilet. Otherwise, it would be 5*. But we did not have reservations, so it was understandable. They gave us the first available table. The service was impeccable, everyone super nice and caring. The food was delicious. We went for vegan pizza and vegan tapas. Couldnt make a better choice, honesty. I would definitely come back once in surroundings.

Great place and atmosphere always the place to go when in Keswick

This is such a good place to visit for some tapas and a drink. The coffee is lovingly made. The place is very small and intimate and because people are quite close together it has a very friendly atmosphere. The service is very considerate. Food fabulous. Prawns were delicious. It took us 3 attempts to get in because it is so busy but it was well worth the wait.

Tapas were so tasty and nicely prepared. The chef was incredible, clearly talented and seemed so nice. The decor is my type. The waitress wasnt rude but not the service expected for the quality of the food. We definitely ordered too many heavy foods but that is most certainly our doing, couldnt help it but so worth it. No wonder people complain they cant get a table, if I return to Keswick I will remember to go here again. Vegetarian options: So so many. Definitely enough. Enough for vegans also. Good for mixed groups of vegetarians and meat eaters.
