Superb chippy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I took 3 business guests here as part of a trip to show them the English countryside. Coming from Morocco and Saudi Arabia they had never eaten fish and chips from a chip shop before. The chips and fish was crispy, with no grease. Everyone was really happy with the portions and quality Next time I am in Keswick I will most certainly return…this time with 2 tubs of peas 🤩
This is an absolutely fantastic place to eat. I had the fish and chips which were cooked to perfection lovely crisp batter and perfect golden chips. I also had a pot of tea with a slice of bread in a restaurant for just over fifteen quid. Would definitely go again and have no hesitation in recommending this place to everyone
Really nice fish and chip shop in the heart of Keswick, serving gluten free fish and chips! Would strongly recommend!
The homemade Cumberland sausages are supposedly its specialty. The food was good value for money. The service is friendly and prompt. Nice homely atmosphere.
The food here is fab - had the fish cakes and they were amazing. Staff are very friendly in the restaurant. Would recommend.
I came here for lunch today and ate in the restaurant. The restaurant itself was lovely and clean and the staff were very friendly. I had the chicken and chips which was nice. Would definitely return 😀⭐️
So refreshing to find a fish & chip shop/restaurant who cater for coeliacs and people who are gluten-free. The proprietor reassured us when discussing how different fryers are used for chips, and for gluten-free food, with a separate food preparation area. He gets it! My husband had the Cumberland sausage and I had smoked haddock & mozzarella fishcakes, both with chips and mushy peas. They were both really lovely and the chips were definitely in my top three favourites ever! They do takeaway but we sat in the nice restaurant area upstairs, by the window with views over to Latrigg and Skiddaw. Highly recommend this place. Update - we loved it here so much we went 3 times in a week!
The Lake District in Cumbria is a stunning place to visit, renowned for its restaurants, especially fish and chip shops. During my visit, I heard about The Kingfisher and decided to try it. Their smoked sausage and Cumberland sausage were exceptional, and I'd definitely return for more. The cheese savoury was delicious, featuring plenty of stretchy cheese and seasoning. However, the battered cod was disappointing—bland and the batter was also bland and a little gooey on the inside. When I parked in front of The Kingfisher, the staff watched us from behind the counter, likely wondering if we’d come in, which was fine, though inside, I received some odd looks, which made for a strange and cold atmosphere. A young man served me; he was friendly, polite, and answered my questions about the sausages. He was a credit to the business. The shop was clean, tidy, and well-presented, with a restaurant section. The staff wore smart, matching outfits. If you're near Keswick, stop by and try their smoked sausages, Cumberland sausages, and cheese savouries. You'll be glad you did. Ate in the upstairs restaurant as was raining outside. Had the extra large cod and managed only a half Fab fish chips. Proper old deco. Can have buttered bread and tea
What a lovely place to have your Lunch or Dinner, waitresss where lovely and the place was clean & nice. I would Recommend to my Family and Friends to Eat here. Food
Crispy batter on tasty fish and well made chips. No sogginess here.Probably some of the best Ive had.Highly recommend if youre in Keswick.(Visit from caravan site.)
We visited fir first time today about 1 pm on recommendation ! Staff were excellent and the 2 pensioners specials were absolutely gorgeous ! Will be making this a regular thing when we visit Keswick !! Well done to all staff!
Large cod and chips, the fish took up most of the plate, very well cooked. We were very satisfied, friendly staff and good service.
We often interpret a queue outside a fish and chips shop as a positive sign of quality, this proved to be true here. Fantastic chips from an award winning chippy, a welcome treat after an afternoon walk! For me this can only be improved upon by walking down to Friars Crag to enjoy while taking in the view across Derwent Water to the Jaws of Borrowdale! Stunning!
Great Chips, currently our preferred Keswickian chip shop. Recommendation.... Battered Jumbo Sausage Chips and Gravy!! Totally awesome Good Job The Kingfisher
Amazing fish and chips, staff all pleasant and friendly
We ordered gluten free fish with chips to take out, delicious with light fluffy chips.
A must to eat fish & chips here every time we visit Keswick here again still the best fish and chips in England still agree today
First time at this fish and chip shop as on holiday just down the road. Fish, chips, peas and curry sauce all delicious and very good service.
Absolutely fantastic cod, batter and chips. All cooked to perfection. Will be returning very soon!
Good food plenty on the plate. They do pensioner special aswell very well priced. We call in in every time were in keswick Food : 5/5
Great service. Excellent fish and chips
Always go here for a takeaway when I visit Keswick and always proves why it is noted for fish and chips supper. Some of the family came this time and all enjoyed the meal, even the daughter who said that usually only eats the fish ate all of the batter. Well recommended
One of the best places to get fish and chips in the area, great price and love the options of takeaway or sit down and eat highly recommended
Went because my wide is gluten intolerant. Offered the fish without batter ?? Not really sure this counts.
Great chippy , won t hesitate to come back , compliments to the fryer and the staff , food and service was amazing , five stars Wheelchair accessibility: Only for take away , not for dining in
A very good take-away. Great fish and chips. Fast service.
Lovely little Fish and Chips restaurant. Good quality, served quickly at a good price too.
Really good chippy! Banging chips and even better fish! What more do you need?
Takeaway fish and chips... Ive always believed that the best fish and chips can be found on the yorkshire coast, but these were every bit as good. Blasphemy I know, may be it was all the mountain air but they were a perfect end to a day in the hills.
The fish and chips were very nice , but the mushy peas were taste-less. Dietary restrictions: Does gluten free Food : 3/5 |
Been to the restaurant several times this year. Pleasant, efficient staff, lovely food and very clean.
Came in today both me and husband had cod & chips with a side of curry sauce all I can say delicious Friendly staff Spotless clean chip shop Good portion size & a good price Didnt eat in we took away Highly recommend
This is an honest and genuine review. My wife and I were visiting the area on holiday. Decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips. Quite possibly the best fish and chips we have ever had, simply gorgeous.
Had takeaway cod and chips and just chips and curry sauce.Portions were very big and all freshly cooked. Very tasty and would recommend. Would maybe eat in the restaurant next time.
Fantastic service and the food was impeccable, the fish supper; fish batter nice and crispy and the chips were grease free ( unlike others), definitely our local shop when we visit.
Fantastic chippy. The Kingfisher Cumberland sausage is unbelievably good. Well cooked crispy chips and unusually tangy curry sauce. The fish looked lightly battered and well cooked. Next time Im in Keswick will be paying them another visit.
Excellent fish and chips and excellent service 2024 Again, excellent food and service Would definitely recommend !!!
Fantastic Fish and Chips on a wet day!
This is the second time Ive been here and all I can say is Fantastic food Fantastic service and amazing staff If youve not been here yet make sure you put it on you Good Food list, you wont be disappointed. Food
Excellent & friendly service on a busy day, and the best chips we ve had for yonks. Thank you!
A family run fish and chip shop. Really friendly people, nice to chat whilst food was cooking. Bonus they also sell their own Cumberland sausage and dry cured bacon. The fish and chips were really good. Wife had a cheese and onion pattie which was very good. Definatly visit again next time we are in Keswick
Gluten Free options with dedicated fryer Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Food : 5/5 |
Amazing fish and chips, made fresh to order. Will be back next time when visiting the Lake District.
Wise to book at busy times because this is an iconic restaurant that everyone wants to eat in. The food is very traditional, fresh and tasty. The service is efficient, unobtrusive and welcoming. First class!
Probably one of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten!
They had ran out of cheese and onion pies when I got there but the haddock and mozzarella fish cake was very tasty. Great chips as well.
You always get a good meal with quick service.
Had Cumberland sausage and chips. The Cumberland sausage was the best in the world. Seasoned to perfection, meaty and succulent. You can tell they use top quality ingredients. The chips were also top quality, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. We also bought some fresh Cumberland sausage to cook at home, it was fantastic. The only problem is I have to drive 3 hours to buy some more. Dietary restrictions: The Cumberland sausage is gluten free.
Pensioners Special Spot on. Great Staff. Very clean.
Great chips! The pie I had was so so though.
Really delicious authentic British chippy. Fast and efficient service. Very popular and busy spot but thorough and your order will be ready before you can say jumbo sausage Food
Beautifully cooked fish! Amazingly crisp batter as well as GF options. The queue for the takeaways speaks volumes - we opted to head upstairs and eat in. Dietary restrictions: GF options on the menu.
Found this chip shop great top marks food and staff very welcoming.
Popped in today to buy some fresh cumberland sausage ,had it for my tea tonight ,its the best cumberland sausage ive ever had ,lovely and peppery good and meaty ,and taste like its made with good pork ,going back in tommorow so i can take some back to yorkshire for myself and my chubby mate who also loves sausage
Good food at a reasonable price
Incredibly good fish and chips!
I travel for work, and have been to many fish & chip takeaways this is omg fantastic, the choice, the service, thank you guys your doing a great job.
I asked a lady in a local shop where I could get good chips and without hesitation she said the Kingfisher. She was right, these are possibly the best chips I ve ever had!
Had lunch there with my husband and friends. The service was quick and pleasant, the portions quite big for our standards (plus the prices were reasonable) and the place was quiet and comfortable, just what we were looking for! Would highly recommend!
Ive been here many times over the years and Ive never had a bad meal. This time it was the small fish (except it wasnt so small), chips and peas, and it was delicious. I usually opt to eat in their restaurant, which is above the chippy, and as usual this time the service was very good, polite and professional and a friendly atmosphere.
When they say they serve large battered cod, they aren t lying - it was ENORMOUS!! So delicious and such good value. Light and crispy chips too. 10/10!
This is a very welcoming and friendly place. We had a long day of traveling around the area. We re craving for warm food because we had all cold foods since yesterday. Highly commendable to visitors and those that are traveling around discovering the unknowns of this place. The food is delicious, staff of the restaurant is really very friendly. This is the best place ever, I visited in the area. Outstanding service, Outstanding Food, Outstanding Hospitality. Keep up this good service. Thank you very very much!
Upstairs in restaurant, Great food, friendly staff and nice prices!
Absolutely cracking takeaway. Chips werent at all soggy, and the near foot-long Cumberland sausage was delicious! Would definitely return when visiting Keswick again! Dietary restrictions: A number of items are available gluten free, including the Cumberland sausage!
Popped in while going through the area and was not disappointed! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. The food was all warm, tasty and filling. Will definitely go here again if Im ever in the area!
Excellent fish and chips.
Best fish and chip I have had in a Long time cooked to perfection
Had a takeaway fish supper. Fish lovely. Chips perfectly cooked. Staff polite and friendly. Will be going back for more. Thankyou.
Cant fault this Chippy. Super friendly welcome. Service with a smile & chat. Top class food. Banging.
Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessibility. Restaurant upstairs. Food
Freshly cooked chips, friendly staff ,love the mushy peas.Beat the queues by ringing your order and then go pick your order up .
So good, we managed to visit twice. First time we booked in advance and we were not disappointed. Nice thin, crispy batter and very well cooked chips. Fish was extremely flaky and you can tell this has been cooked fresh. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Second visit we managed to get a table without booking. You meet soo many characters and people Up North are always willing to speak and talk to you! Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Clean, bright, fresh, upstairs dining room with attentive friendly staff. Tasty, quality fish and chips with great mushy peas in exactly the right sized portion. Came with a pot of tea in a proper cup and saucer. Only caveat is I had the pensioner lunch and it was only a shade under£10. Call me old fashioned but isnt everything a tad expensive these days??
Just had fish and chips here, I must say it was one of the best chippy meals Ive ever had. The batter on the fish was nice and light and fish was cooked to perfection, the chips were delicious too! Great value for money, would definitely recommend!
Food excellent, recommend the lasagna and best chips l have ever tasted.
Quite simply the best curry sauce anywhere. Need to offer it as a larger portion
Went specifically for gluten free meal. Fish was ok. Could have had a better batter on it.
Called up to place a very large collection order, they had it sorted within 30 minutes, still hot and with no mistakes. Really great service and quality food
Rapid pleasant service but Luke warm chips and soggy fish Has a good reputation locally but definitely an off day today Food
The food is out of this world. I recommend to anyone Food
Excellent fish n chips, mushy peas n gravy/curry sauces, portion was massive so we shared between 2 adults n was plenty. Sticky toffee pudding was great also. Definite return visit required. Recommended!
Excellent fish, chips and mushy peas plus pot of tea for £9.50. Brilliant. Friendly and helpful service as well Kid-friendliness: High chair available
D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S!
Great fish and chips eat in and with a pensioners discount, whats not to like?
Theres only two places in the UK Ill eat fish and chips..Whitby..and here!
Although fish and chips werent top of my list during my stay, this place was one of the few places still open and with tables. The large cod is massive. You are unlikely to be able to finish it. Tasted good but wasnt quite right in terms of taste and texture... Service was good given we showed up just before they were closing. The place is frequented probably by locals more than tourists.
Delicious sit-down dinner in a clean area upstairs. Fresh fish and chips from downstairs and a phenomenal sticky toffee pudding to finish. And all coming out to less than a tenner per person, would highly recommend
Super rapid service. Views down the main street from some window seats. Reasonable price for a holiday town. Recommended.
Got to be the best fish and chips in the area highly recommend. The Cumberland sausage is spot on tasty full of flavour.
Great fish and chips cooked fresh and quickly with generous portions. Best chippy in Keswick.
Very efficient service. Nice thick cuts of cod and tasty chips. We also tried the Cumberland sausage. Very meaty and tasty. Overall I would recommend Dietary restrictions: They also cook fish in rice flour for a gluten free option
Always here as they do gluten free fish and chips
Both of us had fish & chips, with a portion of peas. Disappointed in the chips, quite a lot of little hard pieces, definitely felt as if the chips werent fresh
Had a really good early lunch. Quiet at the time we visited. That was a bonus.
Cant fault anything. The ladies that brought the food were really nice and friendly. The fish and chips were truly the best weve ever had.Would absolutely recommend .
An amazing find. All freshly cooked. Gluten free options went for the gluten free fish and chips, which is coated in rice flour, lovely and light.
Best chippy in town,by far! Parking: On stanger st Food : 5/5 |
Their home made Cumberland sausage are very good, give em a try.
Cracking gluten free fish and chips!
Fish very greasy
Absolutely brilliant fish and chips today. Mushy peas the best I ve ever had. Highly recommend.
Large portions
Great food good service nice atmosphere. Will have to go back again. Thanks
Got large chips here a few times on my trip to the Lakes. £3.70 is okay value for tourist hot-spot. Very prompt service and nice food. Great after a days hiking
Lovely fish and chips as usual. Gluten free options available.
We have been coming here for years whenever we visit Keswick. The Kingfisher has never failed us. This time we had take away but we have also eaten in the little restaurant upstairs. This time was chips and curry sauce to go on a busy bank holiday weekend but no queue, friendly and fast service and delicious fresh chips. The curry sauce is some of the best we have ever had. Fully recommended if you are ever in Keswick!
Absolutely fantastic meal in restaurant above shop, good price and lovely staff
Not a good meal on this visit. Pie was overcooked and chips were no better. The other 3 people eating with me were also unimpressed.
Great chippy tea in the restaurant is expensive, but energy and oil cost must be expensive, so it is what it is . The large cod is very large at £14 ....hmmmm it was good
Best fish and chips around, lovely staff in the restaurant, great value for money, and great to have gluten free. Thank you, live local, so definitely returning.
Great place
Superb fish and chips. Excellent table service upstairs. Excellent chip shop downstairs. Kid-friendliness: Ideal for families with youngsters.
Reasonably priced chippy food, good size meals
Excellent value for money and quality
Visited here several times now, food always delicious, good value for pensioners specials. Very clean, quick service.
Cant fault them, great fish & chips very reasonable price
Best fish and chips I ve had in years
Beef and kidney pie is great. Fish is crispy and hot, but it s a little bland for our taste. Nice service. Lovely decorations. Clear table instructions. Great atmosphere.
Ate in the cafe/restaurant upstairs as there was a long queue for the chippy. Prices appeared to be the same to eat in and the food and service were lovely. Highly recommend for a good chippy in Keswick.
Superb service & the fish was absolutely amazing.
Fish and chips was fresh and fair-priced. The service was welcoming and the space was cozy.
Perfect supper, thank you
Delicious fish and chips
Average quality food, no more, 3 fish and chips and teas came to over £50! Ridiculous prices
Been coming here for the past 9 years sitting in, great fish and chips
Dietary restrictions: Fantastic knowledge of celiac disease Recommended dishes
Great dinner refuelling the family after a long day on the fells. Excellent, friendly service and quick food, with good portion sizes! Will be back next time in Keswick!
Good value fish and chips
I liked it Helen wasnt so keen Lottie loved here fish and chips and ada as usual picked away at hers First time eating in at a chippy Kid-friendliness: Didnt seem to mind my whinging lot..... Probably did though
Food ok
While the restaurant is very nice and clean and the service staff is prompt and attentive theres a reason why hardly anyone eats it. Its almost 5 pounds extra per dish/item/order from the takeaway below. So for the four things we ordered we paid 20pounds + service extra. I wish we had known this earlier, wouldnt have eaten in. Food itself was really good. The big cod was massive and the lasagna special was fantastic. The veg and chicken burgers were just about ok. Wouldnt pay 10 pounds for them, but takeaway would be good. Big issue was not being able to order without the fries, so a lot got wasted.
Well what can I say the best fish & chips I ve ever had . Tonight upstairs table service crispy chips hot crunchy batter mushy peas & curry sauce very good service from friendly & efficient staff we will be back again next time we visit Keswick there was a que for takeaway that s always a good sign
Great food
Loved the fish and chips best we have had in a long time
5* all round. Food was absolutely amazing. The large fish looked and was gorgeous was bigger than the plate itself! The normal fish and chips with peas was a good size also. Really surprised at the size of the fish too for the kids menu!! Woaw! Great value for money. Food was delicious not greasy, chips were yummy. Ladies were very helpful and friendly. Only thing I may say as a disabled person it was quite difficult to do the stairs. But the chippy does take away menu downstairs. The restaurant is upstairs. Would highly recommend
Great fish and chips served with a smile. Seating is a little cramped. Parking: On busy road Wheelchair accessibility: Upstairs
My wife and I come here for our anniversary meal and it is by far the best fish and chips weve had in a long time. Cooked to perfection and friendly staff. See you for our 15th, if not before. Food : 5/5
Very tasty fish and chips! My friends also had burgers and everyone was happy!
Crispy, tasty fish & chips! Thanks!!
First time using this fish and chip shop. Good size portions, chips were very nice. Fish was a very thin fillet, batter was greasy. Looking at some of the pictures on the other reviews their fillets of fish looked a lot thicker in size. Curry sauce was nice good consistency and a nice little kick to it. Overall not bad. Gave it overall 3 stars manly because of the fish being greasy and a thin fillet. Yes I would try this chippie again next time Id have a pie. Not bad value eather considering todays economy. Would I recommend giving this chippie go, yes I would.
One of the best fish and chips I have ever had wish Iived nearby it would be a regular place to go.
I had a takeaway Chips and Cumberland sausage. 15/07/2023. The best chips I have had. crispy and light and fluffy inside. The cumberland sausage was excellent. Even though I took it back to my self catering lodge and warmed it in my microwave. I was gratly impressed by the quality. i wood recommend this chippy.
Very good food in comfortable upstairs restaurant, prompt service
A really good chip shop sit down.
Best fish & chips in Keswick by far!
Honestly the best fish and chips place on the whole of Lake District! Best fish Ive ever had.
Im giving this a 3 star and the reason is on Wednesday we got fish and chips and peas and they were beautiful 5 Star beautiful white fish lovely chips. So called Friday wife got chips and sausage, beautiful sausage really tasty and now very disappointing chips more crispy hard hardly any potatoe in them for me they were refried chips and that bad business for my view on this matter. But try these Cumberland sausage beautiful and if you do get chips check them before buying.
Who would have thought.A glass of wine with your haddock & chips. Excellent.
We have been here several times. Food hot. Tasty. Great gluten and dairy free option
Not cheap..but food was absolutely lovely..Nice polite staff..
Nice place, friendly staff, good pie and chips+ gluten free Cumberland sausage and chips!! Dietary restrictions: More gluten free choice would have been great! What there is, is very nice, especially the Cumberland sausage
Very good, would definatly recommend. It is the perfect place to go out and eat or pick up a takeaway. The restaurant upstairs is very well laid out and the food is just amazing. Great portion sizes. No soggy food here. There are car parks all around and well within walking distance. Parking: Car park nearby only £1 to park from 7pm - 7am
Fish and chips was delicious
The Kingfisher have outdone themselves. We asked them to do a take out order for 28 people. They were ready on the time agreed and everyone agreed they were hot and tasty when we got the order round at ar picnic place. Thank you so much to all the staff at the Kingfisher. You are fantastic.
Excellent fish & chips 5
Had fish supper, portion size good, chips good, fish tasty, crispy batter, cooked fresh to order
Oh my! This is our third or fourth visit in the last few years. The best chippy in England for sure. Be sure to eat here at least once or twice during your holiday.
Nice fish and chips. Thin pieces of fish for price. Chips and sides (peas, curry sauce and gravy) all excellent. GF sausage very tasty.
Brilliant and friendly service. Great chips and cod, just a limited fish menu.
Good portions, tasty fish and plenty of chips. Batter on fish was thin and crispy, packaged well so batter didnt get pulled off the fish on the way home. Highly recommended.
Absolutely divasted today on my holiday. So excited for Fish & Chips & my chips were so hard & dry. Also my Fish Pattie fell apart. For the price I paid here today was disappointing!!!
The best fish and chips
The Kingfishers is genuinely among the best; it offers fantastic fish and chips and top-notch service, its a 5 star from me.
Delicious cod and chips for the hubby and a decent sized portion of small sausage and chips for me. Moody teen, of course, doesnt like chippy chips. Forgot to get hubby ketchup so it was the end of the world how can I possibly eat fish and chips without ketchup? Oh my days Dont forget your condiments. It was lovely quick service, we had takeaway, I have seen it some days with a line right out the door, there is also seating area upstairs. Lovely reasonable price, much cheaper than the pizza my moody teen had taken a liking to whilst in Keswick
Fish and chips way too salty!! Its better to let the customer help themselves to salt because it really wasnt good.
Great people working in the restaurant, very friendly. The atmosphere is perfectly nice as well. The food came very quickly, scampi was cooked very well as was the battered sausage. The curry sauce was great. The standout was the chips, some of the best chips I ve ever had, cooked to perfection. Price was more than fair. A very enjoyable fish and chips.
Great fish and chips.
Lovely restaurant for lunch, friendly waitress s, recommended.
Really lovely staff, very clean and well run but unfortunately the chips just didnt do it for me. We got a bag of chips from here on 2 occasions during the week, (tried again thinking maybe the first visit had been bad luck), but unfortunately the chips werent nice on both visits. Its as if theyve been fried more than once or over fried? They are too crispy, (I like a crispy chip but only when theres still fluffy potato inside but these were just hard), taste like the oil they are cooked in and just seem like mediocre pub chips not proper fish shop chips. We never had fish and honestly it looked lovely but just a shame as the chips put me off.
Fish with scraps. Chips was hard on the outside and hollow on the inside.. rubbish!
Excellent fish and chips (visited twice in fact).
Warm and welcoming, eat in or take away, very reasonable prices, clean and tidy, all round good place to eat.
been twice now for fish and chips the takeaways was not to bad price ok service good second time we sat in price goes up £4 the fish was awful old oil and thick crispy batter all stuff on to small a plate will not be going back as could not eat it
A lovely traditional fish n chips shop, prompt, pleasant service, the pensioner special is great value.
Best fish and chips in a long long time from here up there with best I ve ever had
Worst value fish and chips Ive ever had. The fish was tiny
The best in the west!
Visit here every time I visit cumbria. Good food and a variety not just fish. Would recommend
Thoroughly enjoyed a huge portion of Cod and chips ; fantastic quality and beautifully prepared. Attentive and very welcoming staff. Just what the doctor ordered on a cold, wet evening. Wouldnt hesitate to highly recommend . John Macfarlane
Best fish and chips I ve had in a long time
Gluten free fish and chips is fabulous!
Really good chips!
Best fish and chips in Keswick.
Quick service and tasty food.
Can t fault anything fresh cooked food and lovely atmosphere
We just had a take away, for four, all very nice. Fish , sausage, chips peas and gravy and the Steak & Kidney pudding was excellent, and twice the size of a Hollands pudding less than £20
We were looking for a quick meal in Keswick, thinking wed just grab some fish and chips at a takeaway. Then we came across the Kingfisher, and saw they had a sit-down restaurant as well as takeaway. Well, why not? Wed had a big day and could use some sit-down time. It was mid-afternoon, and yet the restaurant was well patronised by local people. Good sign. My wife ordered a burger and chips, and I went for the steak and kidney pudding. I can still taste this wonderful meal. This is what the traditional English cooking is all about. A real pudding, not a pie. Succulent beef with generous chunks of kidney in a rich, tasty gravy. And a load of perfect crispy chips to accompany it all. To cap it all off the staff were charming and friendly, and the food was served very quickly and piping hot. You pay more for the sit-down meal, but it is worth it. Relax and enjoy. What a great find!
The food was amazing highly recommended this place xxxx
nice little place .only place i could find in keswick that serves as a restaurant before 5 o clock
Nice fish and chips
Went here while on a visit to Keswick. I was we had pie, chips and peas and it was really good. Would highly recommend
