Indian restaurant in the heart keswick established 2001
Lovely place staff Lovely. Had a chicken tandoori starter which was disgusting. The chicken had never seen a tandoori oven did complain but never got any feedback. However the main course was brilliant but wouldn't go back. Have been going to this restaurant for fifteen years such a shame
It's a really good meal here. My wife had onion bhajis & I had king prawns on puri for starters, then chicken shashlik & jalfazi both very good with lots of flavour. Recommend to book.
Staying in the local area. Ordered a takeaway from this restaurant. Very friendly and effieicent staff. We ordered 2 curries, 2 rice and a naan bread. It came to £38 which I thought was extortionate. My wife found a hair during our meal in a piece of her chicken which spoilt the rest of out meals for us constantly checking every fork full for further contaminants. Taste was good however due to price and finding the hair in our food, i wouldn't visit Lakeland Spice again.
The food here was amazing and arrived very quickly, staff were very helpful and kind. we have quite a few dietary requirements as a group (2 vegetarians and 1 vegan) and it took quite a few goes to get our order right, the staff rectified this quickly and were very apologetic, I would definitely recommend coming ! the man who served us was very helpful in identifying vegan options on the menu :)
We ordered takeaway from this restaurant and it was honestly the best Indian food I’ve had in the UK! The curries were spectacular, particularly the lamb bhona and the naga chilli chicken. The chapati was thin and really delicious, considering that it’s made with such simple ingredients, it paired so well with the dishes we ordered. The papadums were a stand out in flavour too! The special biryani was not bad, but it didn’t stand out amongst the curries. However, its side dish of vegetable curry added an extra kick to it! High recommend when you’re visiting the Lake District.
This is one of the best Bangladeshi Indian restaurants we have visited. The food quality was excellent and cooked to a great taste. The service was quick and the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was great, too. They have decorated it well even though it's a small place. They serve halal meat. We had to book in advance and wait until 9.30 pm before a table was available, but it was worth the wait. Special thanks to Mansoor, who served us on that night.
Nice place but very busy. We had the feeling they wanted to get rid of us to give the table to new customers. Food itself was very good, but small portions and a little pricier
Good authentic Indian cuisine in that city. If you like spicy food then just ask them to make it asian style. Great service.
Good for eating in and for takeaways. Friendly staff.
Ate here last night, booked the same day very easily & the requested time slot. We both had Chicken Chaat starters & Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, mushroom rice & peshwari nan bread. Food was fantastic, one of the best curry s we ve eaten. Huge pieces of chicken in the main course & very generous starter. Quick, efficient & friendly service. Definitely will come back, next time we visit.
Lovely meal here. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Food fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced. Food
The best
Best indian restaurant in Keswick no doubt
Quiet place, great service, food and beer for a decent price.
Went in there for a meal before going to the Lakeside Theatre in Keswick after hearing good things about it and, oh my, so glad we did. The food was amazing, the service was fabulous and the atmosphere in the place was great. The only complaint I have is that there was too much of it
Just had a fabulous meal with 7 friends at Lakeland spice. Served by Gully who was a brilliant host. The food was absolutely spot on & the service was excellent. I will go back any time Im in Keswick & would recommend to anyone who love a great curry to give them a try.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I had 2 takeaways here last week and both were excellent. I had a chicken Jalfrezi one night and a Naga chilli chicken on the second night. Both delicious as was the mushroom rice and naan. Food : 5/5
Went in this restaurant for takeaway , told it would take some time we were fine then the food got ready I paid the bill , we asked is there takeaway cutlery, a guy in counter told us off saying you should order it with the food, we are busy. My partner apologised and said sorry we were not aware that we had to order cutlery separately, and I sorry we thought it comes with the takeaway food. Then he said very rudely again, can t you see we are very busy, you should have told about cutlery when you order food. We are here for 2 days holiday , everything was so good in Keswick until he made us feel so bad and upset. Ruin the whole mood . To the guy please learn to be polite, I understand you are busy and we were not in rush, you could have made us wait, it s okay take your time but learn to respect and talk politely pls
Great Food, probably the best Lamb Tikka I have ever had. Great service and attentive staff.
Ive been visiting Lakeland Spice Cuisine each summer for probably ~15 years! Its always a BRILLIANT curry, and the staff are always welcoming. The Chicken Tikka Bhuna Karahi is an absolute favourite (never seen it anywhere else!) - its extremely tasty. I went twice whilst visiting Keswick this year... the second time we were looked after by Gully who was an absolute legend and provided some excellent banter (including this photo he took of himself whilst taking our photo!) CHEERS GUYS - well be back next summer for sure!!
Great place for a tasty curry.
Added Madras by mistake to order, they were very understanding & helpful in rectifying the mistake. Great service, great food would definitely recommend 5 stars
Best Indian food we have ever had hands down. It was so good that we made reservations for the next night before we left. We spent 3 weeks in GB and ate at several Indian restaurants, but none came close to the quality and taste of the food at this restaurant. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us select dishes as well. If you are visiting Keswick you must dine here.
Great Indian food with lovely service!
We arrived too late to eat in (01/10/24) however the staff were more than happy for us to have a takeaway. So helpful even ordered a taxi for us! Food was delicious.
Excellent food great service I would recommend Lakeland Spice to my friends and family
In Keswick several times a year for many years now and this is the best curry here, a visit every trip, perfect.
Must try the specials board .. Homemade staff chicken buhna on sizzling plate Recommended dishes
Visited this evening 8.10.24. Excellent food and service. Traditional dishes exceptional. Little gem in the Lakes definitely worth a visit Food
The wife and I visited here without booking a table. The place was busy and had a great atmosphere so all good signs. The guys advised it would be around 10 mins for a table but offered us a seat at the bar and we got a Fri k whilst we waited. Surely enough we had a table ready in under 10 mins and we ordered. Popodoms were light, fresh and crispy. We had onion bhaji to share for starters which was good and tasty. The Mrs had Chicken Tikka Masala which she said was beautiful. I had a staff dish , there were 3 x to choose from but I had the make version. It was incredible!! The lamb was so tender it almost melted, the sauce was mild but I asked for a little more spice and was perfect for me. I cannot rate this place enough. The staff were so polite and courteous but left you alone and seemed to time their drinks offerings perfectly. We have been here before but last nights food was amazing and would highly recommend. 5 star guys, thank you.
Our annual visit was as good as ever. Friendly staff, excellent food with a very interesting Specials section, all in comfortable surroundings at a good price. Love it.
Returned here after a couple of years and although the service was again excellent the food wasn t as good as before. It was ok but not special. So a little disappointed.
Nice people, nice place, good service, fair prices, but the Rogan Josh I had was very mild, despite supposedly being medium hot. A bit sweet, too. My partners meal was also a bit bland. So, okay overall, but will probably try somewhere else next time were in the area.
Stunning food and very accommodating staff! Well worth it! Xx
Really lovely staff and food was luuuuushhhhh, they have dansak too which was a lovely surprise, food came out super quick and the choccy was a nice touch
Great food and service...always busy
A large group of us visited Keswick and had a wonderful curry at this restaurant. Each dish was absolutely divine and I highly recommend booking the LSC, 5 stars all round.
No words needed. All I can say is that the atmosphere, the service and the food were amazing. Came all the way from Newcastle to try this place and left with a full stomach and a big smile on my face!
We had a dine in experience. Attitude of the staff plays a major role for me, along with atmosphere. Both were excellent. Food was very good and satisfying, requested for medium spice, and received exactly with right amount of salt in the food. Overall very good experience. It is 20yr old restaurant, hope they continue their quality for next 20yrs.
Excellent Indian, would recommend.
Wonderful food and excellent service. Gully in particular was very efficient and friendly. We will certainly return.
Lovely takeaway and fast service for collection.
Delicious food!! Not only your standard stuff! Great service, lovely and competent personnel! I dont live here but if I did I would be here over and over again. This place is something special!!! The interior is great too, and spic and span. And thank you soooooooo much for your surprise present! I absolutely love the smell of your fresh spices and garam massala!
Ordered a takeaway, satisfied my hankering for indian food.
One word amazing!
I have order takeaway from here a few times and it has always been very good food.ast time, there was a mix up over the phone about an item in the order and I didnt find out until I got back. So I returned (only a few minutes away) and they sorted the problem out with no quibbles. They even added some poppadoms and naan breads as a gift. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The best curry Ive had in a really long time. Friendly service when ordering to take away and delicious food.
Great restaurant in Keswick. Very good food, welcoming staff. A very good place to eat well
Extremely rude staff with no manners.
Our party of 6 ate here on Saturday 27th July as per previous review this place get ls busy so we called at 5 and they got us in for 7. Our waiter Gully was so good he was so patient when we were changing our minds on what to order and had a good sense of humour which we liked. Service was quick and efficient and the food was spot on would definitely recommend and wouldn t hesitate to visit again when in Keswick.
Top notch food and very accommodating staff. We had a party of 18 and the service was superb. Highly recommend.
Came here for my brother s birthday meal and the food was absolutely lovely! Had a few problems with our orders but was quickly rectified. Unfortunately we were sat upstairs and found it to be quite cramped but couldn t fault the food or service.
A brilliant curry
I had an exceptional experience at Lakeland spice thanks to the outstanding service provided by the manager. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel welcome and valued. Their attention to detail and genuine care for customers were evident throughout my visit. The resturant was clean, the atmosphere was inviting, and my order was perfect. The team went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right for me and ny family. I highly recommend Lakeland Spice for anyone looking for great food and superb service.
Delicious food and great service!
I went to Lakeland spice cuisine as I d seen lots of good reviews online. We went to reserve a table the night before and informed them that we would be a group of 7 people. They advised us we would have to arrive at 5:30 the next day as they had a big group coming later and we agreed to this. The next day when we arrived, we ordered 7 naans, 2 curries and 2 mixed starters to share. This is because we had 2 young children with us and we were not very hungry as we d had a late lunch. After placing the order, a worker who was not serving us came up to us and informed us that they cannot accept our order as we had not ordered enough food. This is baffling to me as no one else had mentioned this to us and there was nothing on the menu or online to state there was a minimum amount of food we had to order. We explained this to the worker and he informed us that they are a very busy restaurant despite there only being 6 other people there. He said he could pack the food up and we could take it to go however, we were staying in a hotel and had stayed in town all day and paid for parking for this meal. Therefore, we asked how many other curries we would have to order to be allowed service in the restaurant and the worker said we would need to order 4 curries altogether. We then asked if we could do this and he said yes. Around 10 minutes later the food arrived and it was all packed up! We asked why as we had ordered the 2 extra curries and the worker said he had already packed the food up. He was not budging on this and we felt forced to leave! One of the women I was with requested that they remove the charge for 2x drinks as we had not been able to drink them and this was taken off. The worker acted as though he was doing us a favour and gave us a 10% discount however, we later saw that this is the case for all takeouts so they didn t actually do us any kind of a favour. After we got to our hotel, we had the food which was disgusting and inedible. We ordered a lamb curry which was rock solid and didn t appear as though it had been cooked properly. The naan was sickly sweet and not the correct texture of a naan. We ended up binning the food so our money went down the toilet, literally. Despite the workers encouraging us to order 2 more curries, the food we had originally ordered was more than enough for 5 adults and 2 children. Throughout the night, all 7 of us were violently ill and sick, even the young children, from the food. We all felt so unwell and were unable to leave the hotel all day. We attribute this to the food as we had only eaten sandwiches from a local bakery that day which were very delicious and fresh. It was definitely the food because in hindsight, how can you cook a lamb curry in 10 minutes? In summary, we were appalled and disgusted by our treatment and by the food. There was nothing to state there was a minimum number of items to order and even when we complied with this and ordered more, we were ignored and thrown out! The workers were also very creepy and kept asking very personal and rude questions. As young women, we felt very uncomfortable with this and tried to ignore them. Not only was the food subpar but so were the workers and the service. From reading other reviews, it appears that they do not take well to people who don t order a lot of food or people who dine alone. I would not recommend this restaurant to any families or people with young children.
A more than wonderful restaurant and the biryani with shrimp is top. The chicken biryani is also excellent. The food is also halal because the owner is Muslim.
Told one hour wait, next people were seated immediately...they were a group but I was on my own...more to be made off than me I guess!
This place was awesome! The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Totally worth it!
Good food, two members of staff very good. Last member of staff could not give us a receipt for the bill. This lead to a misunderstanding. Staff member was then rude. We would never go back.
Great meal on Tuesday night. Lovely guys, they squeezed us in and I had a superb veg balti (one of the very best). My wife had the salmon tikka. She loved it. A fantastic meal, thank you.
After eating at this restaurant for many years during our annual visit to the Keswick Convention, we were disappointed this year by the quality of their Lakeland Balti, and the fact they no longer offer dessert or coffee. :-(
I have no other words than THE BEST.....BEST service.....BEST food....BEST Vibe...just the V BEST....We visit annually ...sometimes twice a year wnd as nkthing comes close we are happy to wait until our visits to Keswick...and Lakeland spice come around. Staff great...food amazing all round experience...THE BEST!!!
Best curryhouse in town
Food was great, service great, atmosphere lovely, slightly pricey for some of the dishes but good portion sizes, flavoursome and attentive staff. Best curry in the Lake District!
Food was outstanding and excellent stuff behaviour.
If you find yourself in Keswick, don t miss dining at this gem of a restaurant. The staff are wonderfully humble and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in. The food was simply exceptional flavorful, fresh, and expertly prepared. During our trip to the Lake District, this was hands down the best food we had. What made it even more special was that the chefs customized our dishes to reflect our cultural tastes, making the experience feel even more like home. A truly memorable meal in every way!
Oh my days has to be the best Indian ever, service was perfect, cant wait to come back.......100%
We had our dinner today in this hidden gem in Keswick. The restaurant staff was very cordial and helpful. And most importantly the food was excellent, portions and price were just right. A must try in Keswick. If you are from the Indian subcontinent, or you like to try real Bengali cuisine, ask them for their special Desi style Chicken or Lamb Bhuna, these were just awesome.
Lakeland Spice Cuisine - Great friendly Indian restaurant in Keswick. Some unique specials and traditional Indian dishes. A great restaurant and nice people. Thanks, we enjoyed the food and will be back again. Food : 5/5 |
Just booked last minute and what can I say top quality food and service staff friendly and attentive if I could give 11 out of 10 I would xxxxx Wheelchair accessibility: Really helpful given 1st table in room
Staff is pathetic as they dont know how to talk to the customer. Manager was literally shouting on the customer.
Fabulous.
Was good but would have expected better quality from the ratings. The lamb could be more tender and less oily. The staff were super friendly though.
Staff very accommodating, food absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. Could not fault any part of my visit.
Absolutely amazing food, delicious and great portion sizes. Good selection of drinks both alcohol and not. Easy menu with good choices. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The seats, tables and decorations were very comfy and welcoming. We would definitely recommend and be back again!
4 of us came for a late meal after the beer festival. Warm, friendly welcome from attentive staff and my food (king prawn korai massala) was excellent. Very deep, rich flavour with light, fluffy and fragrant pilau rice. The other 3 all loved their food too. The selection of pickles with the poppadoms was amazing too (good lime pickle) Absolutely recommend.
Ok. Indian in the Lake District. Onion Barji was very average not enough onion and fell flat. Chicken Tikka was too much tomato and not enough spice a bit boring for such a high rated restaurant I would have expected more. Service was quick but they were clearly not thrilled to see one person turn up alone could do better
Great food and nice service from mater Hassan and mansuor
Some of the best indian food weve had, food came out really quickly and it was delicious! Leftovers were even better the day
Lovely Indian cuisine. Book a table to avoid disappointment as it can be very busy. Highly recommended.
One of the best indians Ive been to, gorgeous food and lovely staff who squeezed us in just before closing. Returned the night after it was that good!
Great great and great service I will be coming back
What a wonderful experience me and my group of friends had here! After a week of hikes and adventures around the lakes, we were feeling weary and in need of some good Indian food. This place did NOT disappoint. Kind staff who went out of their way to meet the diverse dietary requirements of our group, and delicious food across the board. Vegetarian options: Most curries had an option to have vegetables instead of meat, and the waiter was careful to tell us which dishes were made with dairy.
Really gone downhill this Indian. Booked a table online 2 weeks before at 8.30. Arrived on time only to be told our table wasnt ready. Sat down after 9pm, took ages to take our food order. When our food did arrive it was cold. Very noisy, you couldnt hear yourself speak. Never go back again.
Such kind staff and amazing food. The daal was the best I ve had in the UK!
Excellent tikka, good bar, fancy decor (just missing a few pictures on empty walls)
Must try special curries
Tasty food and good service
One of the best Restaurants so far in Keswick. Amazing food, 10/10 for the chef and staff as well. Ishtiak hosted us and recommended nice menu which was really delicious. Highly recommend Food
Great place but at busy times make sure you book a table. The service is fast and the staff are super friendly Food is great and the portions are fair, not massive but not mean either. Definitely worth a visit. Food : 5/5
Lovely food and lovely staff I really enjoyed it
We visited Spice lounge for the first time this weekend and it was by far the best food we have had in a while. We recently moved up north from the Midlands and have struggled to find a curry house as good as those in Birmingham and we have finally found one!! Thanks Munch for providing proper Indian food at a good price. Will most definitely be visiting again soon!! Phoebe & Sam
We just got into town and everywhere was no longer serving food, I tried a last ditch effort and called Lakeland spice and they said sure come over. Food was amazing, service was great, and they were so nice and welcoming.
Very friendly staff.. Accommodative of all our special requests.. they give local tourist suggestions as well. Do Not miss their Mushroom rice..
This was superb. They dont have white fish- cod or haddock on the menu, yes salmon but Im not keen on salmon. Monch, went next door to Booths and got a pack of cod and they did a bespoke fish curry for me!! Thats what I call going the extra mile. Excellent.
Food was great but awful service. We had booked ahead of time for a table of 12 and were just completely forgotten about while we were there. Sat down at 1830, didnt get our food until 2100, some of it being not what we had ordered. I appreciate they were busy but if you cant handle that many people dont book them in.
Food and services were so nice one of the best
Excellent food. Modern interior. Speedy service. Bustling place.
Delicious food. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended
Wow! Hadnt booked and just walked in. It was really busy but they said they would find us a table if we came back in 20 min. When we came back we were seated straight away and ordered poppadoms and sauces. The starters arrived and the presentation was great. The flavours were fabulous and we finished every last bit. I ordered lamb jalfrezi for my main and it really delivered in heat and taste. One of the nicest curries Ive ever had. The peshwari naan was gorgeous as well. Wish I lived closer so I could try some of the Bengali dishes that were on offer! Highly recommended and the service was impeccable.
Food was good service was great catered for 8 of us even though they where busy
Walked in and was offered a table even though it was very busy they accommodated us with an hour time slot. which was very nice of them and are food was made quickly. The service offered was excellent and they were very nice and friendly. We had a starter and main course which was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.
We were on holiday over Easter and decided due to reading the reviews that we would try here. We were not disappointed in fact we have had the best Indian Curry we have had in a long time. Beats our local! The quality and quantity was perfect. Thankyou!
Every time we come to the lakes we make sure we book in here. Food is gorgeous and impeccable friendly service
The food at this restaurant was delicious, I m not usually a fan of Indian food but it was beautiful, my partner said it s one of the best curries he s ever had. Staff were very polite and attentive. I would highly recommend!
We were able to get a table without a booking and thank goodness! An absolute gem of a dining experience. My hubby and I just wanted a quick curry tea after a good hike. We ordered chicken tikka biryani and a chicken madras with mushroom rice and a peshwari all of which was freshly cooked. The food was fantastic. The service amazing. We could eat here every night but unfortunately we were just in Keswick for the weekend but at some point, we will definitely be back. 10/10! Thank you
Just eaten here, I never leave reviews, however this place is phenomenal, The staff are welcoming and very attentive, Im a very picky eater and I can be hard to please but the FOOD is delightfully exceptional I would go as far as saying if I could eat here everyday I would!!! Food
Very delicious indian cuisine, good portions of dishes, we ordered many dishes, original indian chicken and curry, beryani and tandoori grills, paneer samosa, all was top, the staff are very friendly staff and helpful, this place is amazing and i do recommend it
Very good recommendation from the waiters and attentive service. Highly recommend
I cant recommend or rate this place enough, so Ill simply say I LOVE IT!!!
Very delicious freshly cooked food, full of flavour. Staff were very helpful, polite and professional
We always eat Indian food wherever we go on our travels. This was really good quality food, lots of Indian restaurants make really basic sauces but these guys were far from that! The Pathia was top notch quality. We will definitely be returning.
Booking in here if weekend recommend as very popular and we saw why, the food was great, very tasty dishes, full of flavour and definitely worth a visit for your own experience, we would definitely eat here again, well done guys you didnt disappoint enjoyed our meal emencely
Best desi food i ve had in UK. Tried tarka daal and bhuna which was amazing. Halal food is also available with Pakistani/Indian dishes. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of desi vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Halal Food available.
Used to go here years ago it is still fantastic would definitely recommend
Amazing & flavourful food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. Definitely reccomend!
Came here as it was the highest rated Indian restaurant in Keswick, according to Google. And we were not disappointed! The food was lovely and the service was genuinely the best weve ever had. Super friendly and polite, and really went the extra mile to make our 3 year olds first curry experience a huge positive. Highly recommended.
Having telephoned to see if the restaurant could make some vegan dishes we were pleasantly surprised at how helpful they were and we collected a wonderful vegan meal this evening which was delicious. Lovely helpful staff and fab food. Vegan friendly Dietary restrictions: Vegan options
Nicest I ve ever tasted , the bhuna masala was to die for
Best Indian weve had for some time ....... always pay them a visit when in Keswick
Lovely little restaurant. Little bit on the pricey side but was happy to pay for it as the food was excellent. The waiter service was also top notch.
Everything you could want from a proper curry! Attentive staff. Genuinely can t fault it.
Great curry house. Really attentive waiters and tasty food. I would definitely recommend coming here if you enjoy a good curry.
Visited on a Thursday night, good atmosphere, attentive staff happy to offer changes to dish which we found very kind. Food delicious and hot. Looking forward to visiting in the future
We try to eat here every time we visit Keswick The food is delicious portions are generous The staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble Food : 5/5
Food was tasteless and very expensive
Food was absolutely gorgeous, the best sit down meal we have had in ages! We had finished in a spa and fancied some nice food, turned up they accommodated us straight away, the service was brilliant and the food was even better! If you are anything like us and become abit apprehensive about places when you stay somewhere new then try here because you won t be disappointed!
The lakeland Spice is a really nice restaurant. We loved the food and the friendly service. Never rushed, yet never having to wait long between courses, the food was served on hot plates and was of excellent quality and quantity. Outstanding. Food : 5/5
Would give 6 stars if available, lamb tikka bhuna masala last night was just heaven, cleaned the bowl literally! Recommended!
Staying in Keswick for a week weve eaten here 3 times, as weve done on many previous visits to the area too! We have a hobby of trying the local Indian restaurants wherever we go and Lakeland spice remains on top for the UK for us. The taste of the food is strong with each dish providing a unique experience built upon a BIR classic. Would strongly recommend trying the Salmon Tikka! We look forward to returning soon
Such a great little Indian restaurant. From the time we walked in to leaving the service was great, food was brilliant and full of flavour. I can t really fault it, would definitely recommend and will re visit when in the area.
Been going to Keswick for at least 40 years, and walked past this restaurant dozens of times and never been in. Big mistake! Fabulous food ,great friendly staff, and top class service, will be back soon!
Lovely warm atmosphere and an all round delicious curry, perfect for a cold January night..
Ordered a take away for 4. Basic order of 4 main meals with no extras. £60 Tasteless. Not what it used to be.
Awesome place to eat, the food was delicious and a great price. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely eat here again.
Great takeaway except one part of order was wrong. Chicken dishes....Chicken was dry as nit marinated in thd sauces
Excellent customer service. Food was amazing.
Good food & Good Service
Brilliant little restaurant Good food and friendly staff Food
Great staff, outstanding food and our only go to for a curry. Simply the best!
Lakeland Spice has been a firm favourite for my family and I for many years and we are regular, almost weekly visitors. The food and service are excellent, and in my opinion Ive never had a better curry anywhere else (my dad and I used to visit a lot of places in the Good Curry Guide). Nothing is too much trouble, and they will happily try to accommodate any requests. As an aside, they also try and support the local community, helped to raise over £350 for charity by hosting a buffet in memory of my dad. The food selection was superb. Thanks guys! Vegetarian options: Huge choice available, if nothing on the menu takes your fancy, just ask. The vegetarian choices are great. Dietary restrictions: Happy to accommodate allergies and other dietary requests. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly towards children and provided a separate menu where needed.
We visted Lakeland Spice to remember a good friend who considered this his favorite restaurant. Munch and all his team did not disappoint with excellent food excellent service and warmly welcomed all those who attended. There was also a surprise charitable contribution to his chosen charity. Thank you Lakeland Spice we will return.
Superb buffet style meal for our party of friends and family. All food delicous, hot and of a high quality in taste and how it was served. Service on this very busy night was exceptional, polite and friendly. Compliments to all the team in making this a night to remember. Thank you
Food here is really good. Service is friendly. Well worth a visit
A firm favourite with my family. Friendly staff, excellent food and service and they go above and beyond to satisfy all customers needs. Recently visited in remembrance of my brother who was a very regular customer. Thank you to all staff in the restaurant, it was a wonderful evening, excellent food and company and a lovely gesture on behalf of Robert. Kid-friendliness: Ensured all the kids were catered for.
A hugely busy and popular Indian restaurant. We had to wait but they managed to squeeze us in with no booking. Well worth waiting for the food was brilliant - exceptional in Indian restaurant terms.
Absolutely amazing food and service! Owner is so welcoming and accommodating and the food was beautiful. Would 100% recommend!
Such a lovely place. A perfect mix of that traditional curry house from back in the day, but with a contemporary spin that leaves me thinking this is my favourite. Its just a shame I live in Nottm and Im only here on holiday. When back in Keswick this will be my first restaurant of choice. Kid-friendliness: Our table was booked for 7pm and we had our 7 year old son with us. The service and atmosphere were perfectly suited to the younger diner.
Not cheap..but very tasty food..very busy though..so booking essential...
A lovely restaurant with extremely pleasant staff The food was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit. Food
Rang up Lakeland Spice Cuisine on Saturday night to book a table for Sunday and got a table for a suitable time. Arrived on Sunday and was pleased with the reception and table, staff were very nice and the decor was pretty good as well. Waiter who took our order was very, very good and listened attentively and gave a suggestion or two which we certainly did not regret going with later. All the staff were very pleasant and efficient throughout. The food was exceptional. We have gone to the Lakes five times in the last eight years and been as far south as Barrow in Furness and generally eat at an Indian restaurant a night or two out of the four or five we have and we generally have fairly low expectations but we were completely blown away by the quality of the food; we always ask for extra spicy and all the other restaurants just pile in the spices as an after thought destroying the taste of the curry and all your left with is the spice, but no such issues here. The curry was properly made and you could actually taste all the various flavours etc as it should be. The Naan breads were decent sized and very tasty (the Keema naan had actual Keema in, rather than whatever rubbish most places put in) and the rice be it plain or Pilau were very well cooked. To top it all off, the price was very reasonable as well. We were so pleased with our meal that we booked another table for the following evening and will definitely be going back if we end up in the Keswick area again.
The place is good for family
It seems that no matter where we are in the world we always find a great Indian restaurant, and this was no exception. Food was great, very tasty and well presented. The staff friendly and engaging. A very enjoyable evening dinner experience. Highly recommended.
Disappointed. We picked this place because it was the best Google rating in the area. It didnt live up to that rating. The food was OK but no great. Quite greasy and a bit tasteless. I wouldnt recommend this place.
Really good authentic curry! I find a lot of Indian restaurants can be quite tasteless, but this one packed in a lot of flavour! I had the bhuna masala (like a tikka massala but just a bit less sweet/creamy and a touch more spice!) and my partner had the shashlick bhuna - we both said the curries tasted great! We also had saag aloo, rice and naan. Saag aloo was also really tasty! My only critique would be that the naan was quite doughy and could do with cooking longer. Nice atmosphere and staff really polite and efficient! Would definitely return here.
Ordered a takeaway which was excellent - have been overseas for 20yrs and great to know you can still find an amazing takeaway curry in Keswick - highly recommended to all! Only downside is finding somewhere to park to pick it up!
Food? Great. Service? Also Really happy with our experience at Lakeland Spice, we ll be back! We had interactions with most of the staff and they were all very friendly and welcoming. Food : 5/5
Amazing place. Lovely food. Really enjoyed it. Thank you
Very friendly staff. Excellent food. In a very nice restaurant. Food : 5/5
Thank you very much for looking after us. We are very much attached to Bangladeshi food and you have gone above our expectations. Many thanks.
Spent Sunday evening here with 10 friends for celebration 50 birthday we were well looked after great food and service staff were fantastic big thank you to Munch one of the family ran owners great guy very funny and knowledgable can t reccomend Lakeland spice any more definitely return again thanks for your hospitality
If you are in Keswick, this place is worth a visit. The food is great, the prices are great and the staff are great. The service is second to none. Ive been here a few times. Ive always enjoyed it. Ill definitely be back again in the near future.
Awesome hospitality, amazing food and lovely ambience. Ordered chicken and lamb curry with garlic naans and egg rice. Take it from a Hyderabadi you wont be disappointed.
Absolutely amazing meal. Staff were so friendly. Will definitely be back soon
On a weekend trip to the Lake District. Looking for a halal place to dine-in with the Mrs. We stayed in Wigton, Cumbria. This was about 30/35 minutes away. I googled this and did some research, 5*. Good positive experience, in short..... Everything about the food was spot on for me. The kind Bengali brothers working there were very welcoming and polite to me and my wife, I come from a Pakistani/Kashmiri background so they did crack a few jokes regarding the spice levels especially when my Wife who is English happened to order a Chicken Korma. They told me its weak and too mild/sweet brother . The sizzling hot and spicy food for me was delicious, tasty and so juicy and tender. Easy to bite into, cooked fresh, steaming hot, the fragrance and aroma was mind-blowing - was so hungry that I could not wait any longer when I was looking around the other tables . Thanks for the delicious food, memories and service. Well done to you and the restaurant. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Parking: Paid parking nearby, Google map nearby car parks. All in walking distance. Some very close by a few mins walk. Not sure but might be free street parking after certain times.
Delicious
Not bad but the nam bread was not cooked and appeared to have come from a packet mix. Keswick is a tourist honey pot and this is the usual standard of food and drink in the town.
Great food and great service from friendly staff - would definitely recommend!
good food and friendly staff.
Excellent service. They customised a chicken curry based on our taste requirements. It was very good. Tarka dal was homelike which we loved. Only recommendation is to put a whole wheat aata based chapati/roti in their menu.
Always good food & good service!
Came in to order takeaway, the restaurant was busy but looked really modern and relaxed. Food order was correct and delicious. Would recommend
Yesterday we were five people aet in this Restauran the food was very very nice and delicious aslo service was very friendly..
Small place but really nice staff and excellent food. Will be using again.
Was put on a dinky table behind a door were people was passing every two minutes slamming on the table everytime they walk through it whilst trying to eat our food extremely over priced for mediocre food 14 pound for 6 pieces of dry chicken tikka and on top 6.95 for a bhuna sauce would never ever go back
Nice curry
I went last week. Food was really good. I will come back agai. Highly recommended.
If you want an average curry in Keswick, this is the place to go. Food was ok, with the usual selection on the menu. Just a bit meh.
Very tasty food!! They dont have all of the veggie options on the menu, but said theyd make any of the dishes vegetarian. Fantastic service, very friendly and attentive. We ordered a starter and it wasnt what we expected so they offered to swap it for something else. Highly recommended.
Top curry. Really good portions and flavoursome, my curry house of choice in keswick
Ordered for collection, food was ready on time and the staff were very friendly. Food was piping hot and everything tasted so nice, definitely recommend and will visit again.
Amazing food. Amazing. Great service too.
food was excellent well recommend
Overall a wonderful experience! The food is spectacular (I met my partner in India and we are not shy to good Indian food this was some of the best we ve ever had!), the service was great and the atmosphere is really nice, clean and welcoming. It was quite affordable too! It s a shame we don t live nearby or we would be here a lot. Thank you for a great experience :)
Tired of having fish and chips and with limited options for Halal food, we decided to give Lakeland Spice a try, and we re so glad that we did! Everything was delicious, especially the Saag lamb and the garlic naan is one of the best we ve had in the UK. The salad was exactly like what we make back home, so nostalgic! And service was brilliant - they were happy to accommodate our group (10 people) even though we walked-in and the food was brought out very quickly for a freshly cooked meal! Give it a try, you ll enjoy a heart meal! :)
spoken as an indian, the service was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly the food was delicious the atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and enjoyable too
The service was really great by Ishtiak, he recommended us good options from the menu and food was delicious.
I rate it 3.5. The food is ok, but Ive eaten better at an Indian place more than once. Unfortunately, the pub saves on drinks - they are poured from collective bottles, e.g. Cola Sprite, you will receive them in a glass. Complete lack of warm drinks such as tea. Parking: Paid parking 300m away
Good Service by the staff. Excellent Food..! we have enjoyed it. Food : 5/5
Recommended to go ,very good
I had a fantastic dining experience at this Indian restaurant. The service was exceptional, with a strong emphasis on ensuring customers have a great time. The food was not only delicious but a real treat for spice enthusiasts. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves spicy cuisine. Additionally, the prices were quite reasonable, making it even more appealing. I would definitely be happy to visit again!
This place is always busy, so it is best to book a table. Offers great take away too.
Really lovely food
The food here was amazing! I had a prawn dhansak and it was one of the nicest I ve ever had! We also ordered the tandoori mixed grill and some sides which were also great - would recommend!
We booked last minute for a 6pm table tonight (Sunday). Was greeted and shown promptly to our table. The waiters were attentive and the service was fantastic. The wait for our food was short. We started with the pickle tray to share, which was nice, however just be aware it doesnt actually have pickle included, but that was no problem for us. For main I had the tikka masala which was delicious. My parter had chicken madras which he highly recommends, he says it had a nice amount of heat! We were about to ask for the bill when we were each presented with a small plate of complementary sweet traditional Indian deserts which was a nice surprise. Our bill came to a reasonable £64 which included on top of the starter and curries, two portions of bhaji (we didnt realise you get two to a portion, so ended up with four!), two rices, chips, a nan and two bottles of cobra. We will definitely be going again. Its was full too so I would recommend booking.
One word, three syllables darling. De-li-cious. As good an Indian meal as Ive ever had.
If we could, we would give it 7 stars!!! From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine welcome and care. We spoke with Shiraz, who was in charge, and he helped us with questions we had. He recommended a customisation of one of the dishes to suit us. Whilst waiting, we were offered snacks on a complementary basis. When the food arrived, we were told to taste it and if we dont like it, we could have alternatives. The food exceeded our expectations. The best Indian meal we had, ever. Will definitely come back and would thoroughly recommend it. Gehan and Fahmy Hanna
Wonderful experience from beginning to end. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious and a decent portion size too. The lamb meat was really good quality. I d come back here if I returned to Keswick.
We have visited Lakeland Spice numerous times and never been disappointed in the slightest. Once was as a walk in and they made room for us up stairs. I asked for Keema Rice as it is not on the menu and the waiter was delighted I had asked for it and explained they cannot list all options on the menu. We have found the staff really friendly, helpful and professional. Of course the food is superb and well priced. We have no hesitation in recommending Lakeland Spice to anyone visiting Keswick
