Got a pizza from here to takeaway and it was absolutely amazing, loads of toppings and the base was perfect. Easily the best pizza in Keswick, will definitely go again.

Now let me be straight im no food critic but here me out My wife and i went for a sunday drive this place popped up on google maps as being open so we gave it try nice looking place but sadly the food very disappointed waitress friendly so good start we got the mushrooms and garlic bread to start :( mine came cold so they made me another honestly. it was like something from aldi for 99p so mains we went for pizza options again for the prices they are charging you expect decent food !! pizza bases like cheap frozen bases like a cooked jacobs cracker :( too much topping and very bland i have had better pizzas for £1.00 from the aldi frozen section 2 starters and 2 mains and a side of chips with drinks just short of £70 for the price you would expect proper pizzas with decent toppings etc such a shame Vegetarian options: not the best

If you wanna get turned away with a reservation at a completely dead restaurant only because you re 15 mins earlier head to Woodstone. No empathy or atleast polite customer service to even let us in and sit at the bar while we wait for our table even though the entire restaurant was empty

Came today, Amazing place with amazing staff!

Major letdown. The pizza was far from what youd expect from a wood-fired oven - more like a cracker with a few toppings and a sour tomato sauce. Frozen pizza from Lidl is tastier than this. The pasta was overcooked and mushy. To top it off, they have Spaghetti Bolognese in the menu, which doesn t even exist in Italy! If you call your place Italian, at least get the basics right. Honestly, it doesn t deserve to have pizza in its name. A thoroughly disappointing experience. Would not recommend.

Pizzas are alright but the garlic bread with tomato is delicious!! Chicken kebab is pretty good too - Lovely staff. (Looking forward to the garlic bread on my next visit!)

Overall meh. Pizza was fine but Im a bit disappointed as it is a pizza restaurant. The base kind of fell apart and the sauce couldve been store bought. My girlfriend enjoyed her gluten free pizza! And my friend seemed to really enjoy the spaghetti.

Ordered and collected a pizza from here - service was fine and the staff friendly but the pizza itself I m sorry to say was absolutely dreadful. Similar to frozen oven pizza but somehow worse? Base was like ryvita biscuit, sauce bland, and the cheese on top burnt into a thick layer. We only ordered margaritas so hard to mess that up this badly - especially a place that claims to have wood fired pizza? Garlic sauce was ok so there was that at least. Overall pizza that would make Jesus weep - save yourself the money (it s not cheap! 16 quid a pizza!) and get in a couple of Dr Oetkers.

I very rarely leave poor reviews and not one to complain however the takeaway pizza we had from here was truly awful. Somehow managing to be the most ludicrously expensive and worst we ve ever had. The pizza base was worse than frozen smart price pizza, zero woodfired taste, it was like a giant water biscuit. The tomato sauce seemed to just be pure passata with no seasoning or herbs and was overwhelmingly sour. Honestly the first time we ve not managed to finish a pizza. If your business has Pizza in the name you need to be absolutely nailing it, but sadly was a VERY expensive disappointment. Just to add no issues with the friendly service we received when collecting.

Simple wonderful pizza

The food really lets this place down. For a pizza restaurant, the pizza was possibly the worst I ve ever had in a restaurant. Wood fired, couldn t taste it? The dough base was tasteless, the tomato pizza sauce was a sharp, sour tomato taste, but nothing tasty so to speak. The pepperoni tasted of nothing, literally nothing. The worst part, the price - £50 later, for 2 pizzas, fries and 2 pints of Coke (£5 each?!?!), this was possibly the most expensive, disappointing pizza I ve ever eaten.

l had lunch today with my husband an my son in Keswick branch. Oh, dear, what a disappointment! We all ordered pizza. From the first bite the dominant taste was the sour tomato sauce. pizza was unsalted, the dough was thin and crispy like a cracker, no oregano flavour. the price for this sea food 12 inches pizza is £18.50!!! I do not think the dough is freshly made on the site, feels and looks like a prebaked tortilla flat thin bread. My husbands and my sons had the same complaints. The place was clean and nice and the girl serving us was nice, but the baking guy was unfriendly and rude. l will never eat there again, sorry!

Delicious pizza and friendly staff. Very welcoming with children. We were looking for a restaurant and happened to overhear someone say they were going to, the best pizza place in Keswick. After eating there ourselves we think the same.

We arrived, without a booking, at about 8:45 on a Wednesday evening. Had to wait about fifteen minutes for a table to become available. The staff were friendly and helpful, and kept apologising for the wait. When we were seated we ordered our pizzas and our liquid refreshments, and we enjoyed both. We will definitely visit again, even if we are only on a day trip!

Im on a solo trip walking in the Lakes, fancied a pizza so called in at Woodstone on the of chance of getting a single table. They were happy to fit me in, so long as I gave the table back in 45 mins. No problem as I had already checked the menu out. I got a half & half pizza of their two hottest choices. Pizza arrive in 10 mins which left me plenty of time to eat it. Lovely service and atmosphere. Pizza was super fresh and tasty.

My friends and I hobbled to Woodstone in Keswick after a long day walking the Cumbria Way (not sure we could have made it much further that day!) The staff were a genuine pleasure to interact with, my pizza was exceptional (and very welcome) and the premises was clean, spacious and comfortable. Happy to say I will definitely be visiting again!

The staff were not very friendly. The girl acted like she was disgusted I asked if they had Peach gin (obvs never heard of it) the pink gin that came out was so bad I couldnt drink it. My husband made himself drink his larger. The kids portions were large (chicken nuggets) the Bolognese was a hit with my older boy (he had a grown up portion) My cannelloni was a small portion and the salad had the butt end of the lettuce as a big chunk in it. My husbands pizza was ok. Overall not great. One of my kids really liked it.

A+ pizza, end of story. Came out quick right from a real pizza oven, was very fresh, and very very tasty. Toppings to cheese to sauce ratio was spot on. Crust was delicious and crispy, we had thin crust but other styles are available. Toppings were meaty and plentiful and well distributed, not to mention youre allowed 5 different toppings on a build-your-own pie. I have to strongly recommend you give this pizza a go.

Average at best, for £70 for 3 takeaway pizzas they were dry and didn t taste all that fresh. Nothing wrong with it but certainly not worth the money, it was just an average takeaway pizza.

Great cinema

We had the pasta and it was really good. Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful and accommodating to our 3 year old making her feel welcome and giving me one of my first real stress free dinners out as a Mum.

The staff were lovely and welcome! the pizza here was a top-notch and was baked inside wood-fire oven, the smell was SOO good. Various dipping sauce for the grill and the pasta was delicious as well!

We got a takeout pizza and burger and both were excellent. Recommended. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night so we were worried it d take ages but they quickly got it ready for us to come back and collect.

Dont know if this place has changed hands or something. Pizza bases looked frozen and all the same. VERY EXPENSIVE for basic below average food. Shame really was nice last year dont know whats happened. Also its like you book and you still have to wait 20 mins for a table? Not sure why. Wont be returning unfortunately.

Started with the garlic bread which was awful a really small plate and had no flavour, didn t even get any side plates or asked how the food was! had the pizza and well thick and greasy had better from Sainsbury s!!!! Also overpriced

Pizza did taste good however the spinach should really be called the ham because there was more ham than spinach which was really there only for decoration

Called here on a Friday evening in January for dinner with a friend. It is a very popular restaurant. We had booked a table, whilst it wasnt busy at 6.30, that soon changed around 7pm and onwards. It looks like they allow 90mins per table, so it can feel like they want the table back and youre getting hurried to leave, which made us feel a little uncomfortable. It would have got 5 stars otherwise. The food was very tasty and enjoyable, the pizzas were well cooked, and chips and fries were freshly cooked. There was only a limited selection of puddings available, mainly cheesecake, with or without ice cream. Prices arent the cheapest. its £6.70 for a pint of lager, but on the whole, its worth it. We would call here again. Wheelchair accessibility: Not really wheelchair friendly.

Ive been to Wood Stone Pizza restaurant a number of times now over several years. Its a good pizza spot and you wont be disappointed. Read reviews about the base lacking depth and seasoning which is partly true, though, fresh ingredients make up for this.

We didnt sit in. Wanted a pizza but we had our dog with us. Stumbled upon this restaurant that did take out . Pizzas were delicious.

We visited last night. We were booked in for 5 pm but turned up at 4:30 as we had done a long walk and were starving. We were kindly accommodated. The girls serving us were lovely. The food was fantastic a thumbs up from all and we wished we had come earlier in the week. We will come again next time we are in Keswick. The chicken kabab and pizzas were amazing the garlic bread and fries were superb.

Food was excellent, delicious so 5 star for that but I believe the best way to judge service is on how people deal with a problem, ever so slight issue with a pizza and it was dealt with brilliantly by both front of house and chefs .bang on so 5 star for that. Thank you

A lovely place, atmosphere and staff. I ordered a calzone which unfortunately I was disappointed about but when mentioning this to the staff they acted immediately! Had a great chat with the team and the young apprentice cooking and we rebuilt it together which was fabulous. So good to push back kindly and get such a positive response. The prices are high, but I ve seen that a lot nowadays, hence I suppose it being so quiet - it s hard to balance! But the service proved to be great and the place had a lovely feel. £6.50 for a peroni in the North though . Ouch!

This restaurant is located in the town area, so parking is a bit of problem nearby the restaurant, and there is a private car park which is about a 5-10 min walk away. We did make a reservation for our table as there was 7 of us, but had to wait an additional 10 mins to get our table and even then, we were assignrc another table which wasnt the one they had allocated originally for us. Otherwise food was tasty, albeit they had run out of some key ingredients which made a difference to us as were limited with vegetarian dishes, but we did go back home with full bellys and made the most out of the evening. Vegetarian options: We were a group of 7 who were all vegetarian and there was vegi pasta and pizza dishes for us to choose from. We did go for a couple of build your own pizza, where our waitress took our order, but a few minutes later after placing the order with the chef, she came back and told us that they had no mushrooms or basil. Basil being a key herb for most Italian dishes was quite surprising that an Italian restaurant can run our so early in the evening as I would expect more customers would be coming in for their dinner for the next 3-4 hours they still had to remain open.

Nice starter, Lovely fresh wood stone pizza. They make the pizza right in front of you. However, the service is slow. Staff were very friendly, but they keep forgetting stuff. We ordered drinks, we had to remind them to actually have them. We asked for some sauces, they never arrived. Toilets were super clean. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Just had a takeaway from here, have to say, the worst pizzas weve ever had, wish Id bought a couple from the local Spar!

Staff, food and service were all great ... RECOMMENDED. Visiting on holiday, glad we booked as it did get quite busy. Pizzas were delicious and Junior really enjoyed his Chicken Kebab. Atomosphere was great too.

So convenient for late fell walkers to have late lunch. Serving food from midday - not just pizza. I had no problems to get a table and service was prompt.

Ordered on line, 10 minutes before collection time recieved texted message saying they are closed and cancelling the order. Its been open everytime weve been passed. Not sure why they had to wait until 10 mins before collection to cancel order.

Got a reservation here over the weekend which was great considering it was really busy in Keswick at the weekend. The food was nice, the pizza crust was quite thick and dry and a bit difficult to cut with a knife and fork. The pizza wasnt bad at all, but not something I have had before. Menu was quite varied if you wanted something other than pizza. Atmosphere was bustling as its quite a small space with the oven in the middle of restaurant. As with most places in Keswick, the food and drinks are expensive. A calzone was 19£ and a pint of peroni was £6.50. Our bill was £60 for 1 starter, 2 pizzas, a side of chips and a pint of juice each.

I never leave reviews but this was such an experience. Should have read the bad reviews. Food is overpriced for what you get. Staff were lost and disorganized. I see in the past reviews that this was also mentioned.

Waited 45 minutes for starter after sitting down. And then half of our starters were given to the wrong table which delayed the food further (drinks were discounted after we complained). Seems like too much emphasis was placed on takeaway aspect of the business, distracting from booked, seated customers. Was very disappointed with the food, it seemed very expensive for the quality of the pizzas. The garlic bread tasted like a value brand purchase, not a freshly baked base.

Check the bottom of your pizza because in my case it was one tenth black; you can get cancer of it. The waiter did nothing about it, e.g offering a new one, not even an apology or a reduction on the coffee.

Average tasting food, bland. Garlic & cheese bread was good Mushroom and Broccoli Bake was tasteless, lacked bluecheese and sunstance Spag Boll was mild with hardly any mince and was a small portion. Service was slow, other tables that arrived after us got served 1st before we even got a waitress. Lovely cozy place though

I rarely write a review but in this case I just feel the duty to warn others. I only finished my meal there because I was really hungry and didnt want to spend more time looking for other option. The T-Rex pizza Ive had was awful, worst Ive had in years. It was so bad that Ive had to ask for garlic sauce (which was of a poor quality too, definitely not homemade) to stomach it and I dont remember last time when it happened. It was dry, bland, dough had a texture of a crispbread and absolutely tasteless. To call it a disappointment would be an understatement. Id rather just have a frozen one. I guess when you have constant waves of tourists you dont have to care about quality of your food at all, right? Its a real shame as they have proper pizza oven, place is nice and staff is also welcoming.

Rib eye steak 12oz. Wow, the taste was incredible! Cant recommend it enough. £25 good value with jacket potato and salad. Get in there if you get a chance!!

Do not get the pizza . The dough was quite tasteless, and the pizza lacked any sort of seasoning. The ingredients on top were fresh but it was like eating them on a flavourless cracker. It was not cooked by a pizza chef.

We had a takeaway and it was one of the best pizzas Ive had, thoroughly enjoyed every bite. 3 other family members were also impressed. Spicy wings on the side were actually spicy, I enjoyed the nice kick in them. Steak chips also a very nice addition with a good crunch and potato content. I asked for a garlic base to my pizza as I dont like tomato so much and they were very happy to oblige. This was immense, proper garlic added and they do not skimp on the meat (which were all very tasty). I had a 12 inch and left 2 slices as the content on the pizza was quite filling. We will definitely be back if in the area, and if I lived here this would be my local takeaway. Hats off to the chef.

We didnt even bother ordering the pizzas, all four of us had steaks and they were gorgeous, perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly to our specifications, highly highly recommend. The cheese garlic bread was also lovely, perfectly crisp crust, and the fried garlic mushrooms were juicy and flavorful.

The worst pizza Ive ever had tbh. Chose The Magnificent Seven. Should be full of flavour obviously. Completely bland. No sauce at all and hardly any cheese. Topping ingredients of onion and peppers were raw. Service was OK, standard, but food was terrible.

Delicious stone oven baked pizza with thin base

We ve been visiting Woodstone since it first opened. Always good. However we were very disappointed last night due to dogs in the restaurant. My jacket was on the back of my chair and became covered in dog hair. Disgusting and unhygienic. We won t be visiting again.

What a little Gem! Id say booking essential if you want to avoid disappointment. Pizzas are tasty! Nice thin bases with gluten free options too!

We went one night on a recent trip to Keswick the food was gorgeous it was so nice we re booked the following night and it was just as good everything was freshly made

They allowed us to grab a table for a quick pizza as they had just stopped serving,we were really grateful!! Food and service was lovely .

We went in on a busy Sat evening, and hadnt booked but they still found us a table! The service was great and the food was delicious, you can see the pizzas being cooked which was lovely. They had lots of option of size and toppings, including make your own and 50/50 split ones. Will definitely be going again!

Freshly cooked woodfire pizza. Wedges hot and serves with a garlic dips which was very moreish. American hotshot an excellent choice. Welcoming and friendly service. £30 for a 12 inch pizza, wedges, dip and two waters.
