Main St, Keswick CA12 5BL, United Kingdom
A modern restaurant located on the main street in Keswick, serving modern British cuisine including many local ingredients and inspired dishes. Bold colours, local artwork and friendly staff make for a charming atmosphere whether you join us for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
We came in on a Saturday and Josh was our Waiter. He was absolutely wonderful and took amazing care of us. He even engaged with my kids and made them laugh! Thank you so much for making our time there even better!
Amazing atmosphere, exquisite food and attentive service. Never had to try to catch a server's attention, they always knew when to check in. Spanish pork cheeks were so tender they fell apart when I went for a first bite, and the crab & watermelon starter was an incredible flavour combination. Will definitely be coming back!
Such a shame as we had been recommended. The food was poor, just lacking in flavour and really bland. Our drinks were either wrong or forgotten, causing us to repeat our requests. The restaurant was empty apart from one other table (despite us being told it was fully booked). So it was really quiet. The waitresses were really distracted too, so we felt like an after thought. Maybe they were just knackered after an Easter rush! They were friendly, just tired. Wouldn't recommend I'm afraid.
Looking for a dinner spot, we stumbled upon the Skiddaw restaurant. Service was not only quick but also very pleasant. We opted for burgers and were pleasantly surprised; they were some of the best we’ve ever had. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone in search of a great meal
A great place for foodies in Keswick! Great variety of dishes inspired by the French cuisine but with local ingredients! Great presentation and service too. Highly recommended!
Very impressed with the food and the decor. Service was good but could have been a little bit more attentive. Would recommend
Well done Brasserie 31 I'm well impressed with service with food and overall with experience. Sunday lunch was delicious everything fresh prepared with high standards 👌 presentation and taste 👌 for the starter I recommend pork and duck pate, I had salmon looks lush but I didn't like it and it was small portion, but everyone likes different things.
Stayed in the hotel Skiddaw and ate he twice. Everything was to a very high standard. Service was fantastic without being intrusive.
Welcomed by Josh, But then that was the only good thing, My meal was delivered without the the Red wine sauce that was promised on the menu, I would have liked to point this out, but didnt have a chance because Josh never came near our tabe until we had finished the course, when I pointed out that the Red Wine sauce hadnt been delivered with the meal Josh apologised, but he didnt say he would mention it to the Chef, he say would you like a drink on the house, he didnt say would you like a dessert on the house, What we was a sorry and this is the bill. It would be nice if Josh was given a bit of training in customer service. Robert Lindley.
Just went for a drink and warm up. Very welcoming, warm and quick service.
Lovely food, friendly staff, great venue.
Very nice meal in a smart, comfortable restaurant. Our (Spanish) waitress was outstanding.
Always a good experience
Pleasantly surprised by this place. Didn t expect too much when we walked in but the food, despite it taking awhile, was really good. Staff are helpful and polite.
Very good dinner. Plenty of choice all well cooked. A bit quiet when we were there but it was early. Good service, not a fortune.
We had the tapas in the main restaurant. I can honestly say it was the worst tapas, possibly the worst meal I have ever had. We had the tapas platter. When the food arrived the meatballs and chorizo sausages were cold. I sent them back and they came back in seconds only a little warmer. The platter was full of stodge, mostly croquettes, some of which you couldnt guess what the flavour was supposed to be. To top it off the dessert was two greasy churros tasting of the oil in which they were cooked. In addition we were served by the most surly restaurant manager I have ever come across. When I complained about the churros and asked if there was anything else we could have his reply was one scoop of ice cream. The only up side of this meal was the general manager did knock some money off the final bill. What is laughable is the hotel has a large board outside the hotel praising the tapas and pointing out the head chefs 15 years experience in Mallorca making tapas . . . . .
Food was great! The dessert being my favourite, the Dark Chocolate and Peanut Praline , absolutely delicious! I got the Herdwick Lamb Scott Egg for my starter, and although it was very tasty, the portion size is extremely small for something that costs £10.
Great food. Better than Inn on the Square.
Love staff
Food was excellent but service was exasperatingly slow. Waited 15-20min to be seated, waited20min for starter, 1hr for main course but also others came in and were served their food reasonably prompt. Waited 30 min just for a brown bread roll and served once starter was finished.
Amazing hotel to stay and have a meal.
Went for a beer and lunch. Lovely brunch deal they have
Really lovely food, but awful service (bordering on rude)
They were having a big function in the venue on the same night we were dining which happened to coincide with not having any lamb or chicken on the menu ??? Food was good, service was lovely, but decor and ambience felt like I had walked into a bad taste retirement village
We had the wine with Tapas and sandwich Very satisfied with the food and service Good vegetarian options available Go for the verdure tapas options
Lovely food
Great location good food great beer and friendly staff
Been a few times now and food is always good
great hotel, havent actually stayed here but the staff are great and the food is very good.
Visited on the 2nd night of our stay, Sunday 13 Jun 2021, as we found out when passing-by, Saturday night, that *you dont need to book a table* in advance to eat there! We arrived and then were sat in the brasserie section of the hotel, which is an outdoors covered area (like a conservatory/green house) where you can see the busy shoppers tourists walking by... Well furnished and warm area. Pleasantly and efficiently served by the 2 young lady waitresses, 1 a local Cumbrian girl and 1 a Spanish girl from Andalusia, which is always a pleasure for me, as Im a Spanish native speaker and it always feels nice and welcoming to be spoken to in Spanish. Besides, the waitresses were very efficient and informative as to which and how many Tapas selections to order, what brand of prosecco to have, where were the toilet facilities and, the other highlight, the Spanish waitress kindly guided me to the front street entrance of the brasserie to avoid the steps, returning from the ladies services back to my table, as I had an injured knee! Very very thoughtful. Im rubbish at remembering names but these 2 waitresses and the kitchen lad were mavericks attending a full house between just them 3...! They deserve a medal Food quality is 3/5 for tapas Service 5/5 Recommended and we will be back again next time were in Keswick.
We had a great meal here earlier in the Summer, well recomended if you are in Keswick
Very nice duck main
Food is excellent, everybody in our group enjoyed what they ordered. Good selection of local beers as well, have booked again to go back
Fantastic Sunday Dinner
Worst food Ive ever had at a restaurant was worse then a microwave meal tipped onto a plate. Such a bad reputation my dogs didnt even want to come. Do not go here if you value yourself. My Girlfriend is now sick from your food, disgusting !
The hotel is lovely and as just had a refurbishment, making it very light and airy, the staff are wonderful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, a little disappointed to find a new menu though as it seems theyve stopped the Afternoon tea, and replaced it with a Hikers picnic the contents didnt appeal to me
Really good place for a relaxing time, very friendly staff wholl always help you, good food and various selection of beverage. Highly recommending Brasserie 31 at Skiddaw Hotel
Very nice good quality food and service.
High quality
Took my Mam here for Mothers Day, had lovely meal.
Warm welcome, lovely room, excellent dining, staff friendly and helpful.
Great stay
I agree completely with previous reviews - a lovely place to stay with delightful staff, smart comfortable room and excellent menu. I will come again if I can still manage the coach ride!
Fantastic people and fantastic place free WiFi and great food and rooms
Have not eaten in there but the beer is to be highly commended and not to pricey for Keswick, also pleasant staff and cordial atmosphere.
Great staff very relaxed
