We haven't been to many Thai restaurants but this one was out favourite, was sooooooo nice. We'd quite happily travel back to Keswick just to have dinner here again.
I don't like leaving poor reviews, but my wife and I were really disappointed with our meal. For the starter, we shared the spring rolls. We both found them to be very doughy and not crispy at all. To follow we had a pork red curry, a sweet and sour chicken, and a beef Pad Thai. With these we had saffron rice and egg fried rice. The red curry tasted mainly of fish sauce, was very thin and had little or no heat. The sweet and sour chicken was better , but the chicken texture was no different to the pork in the previous dish. The beef Pad Thai was the better dish of the three, but even here some of the noodles were like wood . The service was good .
One of the best Thai restaurants I've been to! Christine was incredibly knowledgeable about menu allergens, and was able to provide advice on gluten free options (for which there were plenty). Thank you!
What a great find! We ordered several dishes for sharing, and one dish after the other was more delicious than the next. Superb flavours, quick service. We love Thai food, and this didn't disappoint. The dumplings were the best. We also can recommend the Tempura Prawns, oyster sauce beef, cashew nut chicken, spare ribs. Lovely staff, well priced, pleasant atmosphere.
We visit Keswick every year now for the last 3 years and we go here each time. Such a wonderful environment with food which is amazing and the staff are so friendly If.you haven't tried it I recommend it highly
We visited this place for food as a takeaway away option after having a long walk in the day - the service was unpleasant ignored - when we asked for sticky rice it came in a bag - (boil in the bag rice ) and the vegetable noodles was boring and bland with only one bean sprout £25 we paid for 2 rice and 2 noodles !!! And it was all preheated bland food !!!! Will not be returning do not waste your money untill staff get a personality and learn to cook!
It was my first time in a Thai restaurant and I absolutely loved the Thai food. My friends who had good experience in thai food said it was the best authentic thai food. The lady who served our order was very sweet, helpful and kind. I loved the energy and friendly discussion we had. Overall interior and vibe of the restaurant was excellent and showcasing asian culture. Quantity of food was sufficient. The desserts were delicious and unique which you don’t usually get. Would definitely recommend.
Decent food with vegan options, outdoor seating, and good service. Stir fry dishes and noodle dishes can be made vegan, curries cannot. Food was good but not very flavorful. Thai veggie salad was very spicy and too many onions. Spring rolls were good.
Totally beautiful food once again tonight. Service was brilliant and super friendly, we love this place
Ive been out for my dinner tonight at Asaya thai, make me feeling like eating food in Thailand. Good food and friendly staff. Love to come back again next visit.
Loved this place and the food and service was great
Had a lovely meal here with my friends. The service was exemplary and the food was really good for the price. The restaurant was really clean and there was a really good ambience. I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Asaya Thai restaurant and I would recommend it to both locals and visitors to Keswick.
Lovely food and excellent service.
What a great find this restaurant was whilst visiting the lakes. Will certainly be back. Lovely food. Reasonably priced.
What an outstanding restaurant !! Staff are so nice and attentive and food is simply superb, much better service, quality of food and prices than Jintana in Ambleside! Ive been to many thai restaurants in the UK and over the world, this one is our UK #1 !!!!
Super.b meal. Highly recommended.l
Genuinely best Thai Ive had I England. Best service, catering to all dietary needs. Super friendly and the food was delicious and fresh. Christine, our waitress, was fantastic
Sad to say the food was mediocre and for this price I would not go back there. Corn fritters didn t have any taste and the gyoza was overcooked. The curry was fine but not as flavourful as I ve had before.
The manager is really kind. We were warmly welcomed and got an excellent service. The taste of foods are so authentically Thai!!! Thank you
Been to Keswick three times and every time we have a meal here. Mainly because the food is great. Service however spoilt the experience this time - (17th July 2024) They forgot one of our starters (only two of us) and then when this was pointed out, they apologised and told us that they were now making it (Thai soup). But just left us both staring at the one starter for about ten minutes as it went cold. (We didn t go out for a meal to eat on our own) No gesture with the bill to help placate the situation. Shame, as it spoilt the experience.
Ate at this restaurant 19/5 with 5 friends. 24 hours later 4 of us had dreadful food poisoning. Diarrhoea and vomiting for past 3 days. Subsequently found out they have a food hygiene rating of 1. Will NEVER go back
This Thai restaurant in keswick well worth a visit food great service super great takeaway
Booked a table with short notice. Very accommodating especially with having young kids. Excellent, fast service and great food! Really reasonable prices too!
Requested a high chair so I can sit my baby down safely so I can look at the menu and the older Thai lady said I need to serve others first and not just attend to you . I literally only asked for the high chair. Super rude and we walked out immediately
Had a quick meal here last night.Pulled pork with cashew nuts stir fry with rice. Quick service, best meal in a few weeks. Very tasty indeed, highly recommend.
Popped in for late supper ..delicious! Incredibly lovely and attentive staff and quick service and well priced
The food was very bland and tasteless. Very poor service Do not recommend Food : 1/5
Good quality food, at a reasonable price. Prompt service as well.
Really loved the food, we both had the Thai fried rice with pork, and it was fantastic! Would definitely recommend
Jumped into this restaurant after a long hike on Saturday evening. It was extremely busy but stuff was polite and helpful - they managed to find a table for three for us. They have Thai chefs and you can see it from the decor and mainly feel it from food. It was tasty and fresh! Thank you
Real Thai! Just please care about your waiters, its a bit too much for them when the place is full.
The reason for the one star on atmosphere is that you dont get time to enjoy it. From the moment you enter you feel like you are being rushed. Not a one off as this happened last time too. Chicken satay looks like a mackerel fillet. Dry and obviously not freshly cooked. I went in for the second time hoping it was a one off last time but no. Even more rushed and when I asked the owner if he minded slowing it down a bit as I felt rushed (very kindly I may add) he said its not rushed its been half an hour and youve only had the starter arrogant guy. Im sorry but I expect at least an hour even an hour and a half to enjoy the restaurant and food. Will not go again and give him my hard earned money. Scum bag Never experienced this in any other restaurant other than this. And if you are reading this owner I hope you go bust you plonker
Service was appalling, food was awful, will not be returning
The food and service was OK but nothing special. Our fourth visit.
Great food and service, definitely coming back
Went twice during a short stay in Keswick and it was excellent. The food was fantastic and I wish it was near me, I would go a lot. Lovely staff, all round great evenings out. Im now hinting for good Thai restaurants near me as I am searching for that wonderful food experience and I bet I dont find anywhere as good! Vegetarian options: I had a thick red curry with egg rice that I still think about. I also enjoyed the green curry. My friend enjoyed the oyster dish a lot, and enjoyed the pad Thai. I am now really hooked on Thai
A lovely little Thai restaurant with nice ambience. The food was the best Thai food we have ever had. The serving lady was so lovely and super helpful with the menu. Would 100% recommend!
Amazing food and menu, super staff. Highly recommend a visit
Beautiful food, very reasonably priced, great atmosphere, but service was slow. Next time, I will order more dishes for my main course as a Yorkshireman, I left still feeling hungry.
Very tasty food served by attentive staff outside of the busy main shopping area... usually a few spare tables.
Amazing thai food not too spicy, suitable for everyone. Recommended.
Really good Thai food and reasonably priced. The service was warm and helpful. We had takeaway 3 times in 1 week
Amazing food, very friendly staff, had food from this place 3 times in one week! Definitely recommend and will come back next time!! :)
Really friendly and accommodating staff and a nice busy atmosphere. The Thai menu seems authentic but the dishes have been adjusted for Western taste and arent. They were mostly tasty, but not authentic. Type of place where fries are ordered more than rice. Dont expect Thai street food. Food
Delicious! The food was amazing, decor and atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were really friendly. Definitely recommend! Xx
probably the best Thai food Ive had in the UK plus the staff is really friendly.
Lovely food and lovely service. Highly recommended
Delicious and decent food, friendly waitress and harmonious environment.
The best Thai weve had for a while. Staff really good nothing too much trouble. Food fresh and served hot.
Welcoming and friendly staff who are knowledgeable and provide good advice regarding menu choices. Simply put, the food is delicious. Vegetarian options: Veg or tofu options
We booked to eat there, but then changed our minds to eat out, which was one of the worse Thai meals we hVe ever had and that was for 9 people and we all agreed , the green / red curry was like water , the red one had no flavour at all, we got very little chicken, about 6 small slices, we ordered rice noodles , that was just one blob and dark pasta shape and colour, looked and tasted they had been reheated, The starter was fish cakes that was chewy paid £170 and received no free snacks at all, plus we had to pick it up If we had eaten in as planned we would not have paid the bill at all
Had takeaway. Absolutely appalling. Cold, tasteless and way over priced with such small portions
Thai green curry was beautiful
Excellent service, amazing food, brilliant staff . Highly recommend !
I personally would highly recommend this Thai restaurant. As a tourist I find this place to be really nice compared to others. Good selection of vegetarian options and if you request staff they would be happy to customise your order. If you are a tourist like me then you would too appreciate it. Vegetarian options: Although there are already many options on the menu but if you have any particular requests...the staff will try to accommodate it.
Disappointed. Apart from the green thai curry, food was bland and samish. We have eaten at some lovely places during our stay in the Lakes and regret going to Asaya Thai.
Thai food is excellent. I and my friends didnt book in advance (luckily got the table) but definitely recommend it! There are vegetarian options!! Food
I dont think its been decorated since the 1970s. We couldnt get in at any restaurant as it was good Friday and they were booked up. We were a bit worried as we got in straight away. But we were pleasantly surprised. We are vegetarian and there was so much choice. The food was delicious and very fresh, I had spicy vegetable salad and my partner had vegetable cashew stir fry with fried rice. We will definitely eat here again Vegetarian options: Loads of choice
Great food and service
Food was very disappointing. Veg seemed to come whole as the chef couldnt even be bothered to chop it up in any of the dishes we had . The restaurant floor is also on a massive slant at the front of the building
8 of us dined on a not so busy night. A couple of extremely underwhelming, bought in starters came out after about half an hour of waiting. Very very disappointing. From this point we knew we were in for a treat. After another hour of waiting, another round of disgusting food was delivered to the table. Extremely spicy with absolutely no flavour at all. I was at least expecting some naughty msg but not even a hint of that. The veg wasn t cooked and the fried rice was bland and definitely didn t see a frying pan in its sad life. Hungry with nowhere else to go we attempted to eat the diabolical food. I left hungry, feeling sick and even sicker after the huge bill was shown to us. Felt awful all night and 3 of the party members threw up the following morning and through the day. Avoid at all cost. Go hungry. Run. Spoons is always just down the road. If 0 stars were an option, that s the best I d give. Not to mention the pineapple rice came in an actual pineapple. This could be why the food took so long to make. The chef spent most his evening carving pineapples. Again, 0/10
Amazing food and a great atmosphere, very friendly staff! Good prices too, I will definitely be going again the next time Im in Keswick! Really recommend this place!l
Nice restaurant good food
Nice food Thai fish cake starters and chicken spring rolls really nice a little greasy but nice. Pangong curry was a nice dish with a kick of spice and sweet and sour seafood dish was nice sticky rice and coconut rice were really good. Staff really friendly and a nice Thai restaurant.
Great food, great service and very good value.
Busy on a weekend. Bug the food is worth the wait. Food
Great food. Would recommend. We had our dog with us and we were able to sit outside.
Great food at good prices, staff attentive and will adjust food to suit taste , well worth a visit
The worst padthai noodles and worst papaya salad I ever had. Very disappointed. The chef should get some training on how to make padthai noodles. So annoying. Food
Was expecting something special from the look of Restaurant its not just because its poor tasting but the ingredients they used even served with lemon and not the authentic lime for pad Thai noodle, vegetables not chopped or some not used at all . Will not be Returning. I can only recommend avoid
Nice meal.
A really nice Thai restaurant, and very well priced, the staff were great and couldnt do enough for you. Food was excellent
I was expecting decent Thai food from this restaurant, but unfortunately, the Pad Thai and Thai fried rice were quite disappointing. They were incredibly bland and tasteless, leaving me feeling like it was a complete waste of money.
Wonderful Thai food, a welcome break from fish and chips and steak pies, (no offense to fish and chips or steak pies!!!)
Great service. Foid is delicious. Nice atmosphere. Modest prices. Will recommend.
This is so dissapointing and disrespectful to have our time here. Being customers we expect basic respect from the staff This evening when me and my friends went to this restaurant, we were allotted a table and asked for the order. They took the order for starters and after we waited for long time, we were told about the busy situation there. If it is busy, she should inform us early not so late about (30 minutes later) Anyway we do understand about the concerns during the busy time, but it is about the expectation of basic ethics from the staff to behave in a responsible way. The lady who was working there behaved so rude when we tried to cancel our order when it is getting delayed. When we asked at what time will we be served, she hadnt replied in the proper way and behaved very rudely when we try to cancel the order. She insulted us in front of other customers by saying that it is the way, the practices being carried in the England and disrespected us by showing the racism. I have been in England from three years but never experienced such practice.
Beautiful atmosphere. Clearly very authentic. Staff were lovely and friendly. The waitress who served us recommended the Penang curry which was delicious. Lovely and spicy. I do think that the Green curry was a bit too liquid for my liking, but I suppose this is how it is served authentically. Prices were reasonable, especially for the area and I don t think they applied a service charge. I d highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Good veggie options as you can choose tofu in your curry
Lovely thai restaurant with friendly staff. I had a delicious thai red curry with sticky rice. Recommend
Food was ok, service was horrible. Shouted at by a server. Ordered dishes with server 1. Server 2 brought the dishes. For some reason server 2 was in a constant rush even though there was only 4 tables of people. I requested 3 plates and a bowl to share the food but they had left before I had finished my sentence missing the bowl part. Had to return twice with the plates and then with the bowl. The bowl was dirty and took a long time for them to listen to why we wanted to swap it. This ended with her shouting at us, the whole place went silent and the meal was ruined before it began. Wouldn t recommend.
The food to begin with was way below satisfactory. The rice was undercooked. Not only the taste was not good, both my friend and I had a stomachache and a bad diarrhoea afterwards. I was feeling nauseous as I was finishing the dish. We had nothing for half day and we are certain it is the food we had here. One of the staff was quite impatient. Thus, would not recommend.
Wow. Wished I didnt live 300 miles away as I would be in this place all the time. Not had a meal like this in ages. Highly recommend the Thai curry, rice and chips. Staff are fantastic and super friendly also. Will definitely pop by again when Im in the lakes.
Always go here when in Keswick. The food & service are second to none. Special mention to the waitress Kristina (hope thats spelt right) who cant do enough for you. The food is incredible too. Always go for the chicken yellow curry. Best Ive ever had!
Ribs and curries infinitely better at Siam Thai in Keswick. Asaya take orders after 8pm though so winning totally there!
They have a plethora of indoor seating and four large picnic tables outdoors where we ate. The food was good and came quickly, though the stir fry dishes were smaller portions than we were expecting. They were very accommodating to our vegan diets. Note that if you order anything spicy it really is spicy, like the Spicy Thai Salad (lots of raw onions too) and that the curries cannot be made vegan. Dietary restrictions: Vegan options
Best Thai food I have ever had! Everything tasted amazing, was brought out promptly, and the staff were lovely
Very welcoming and attentive staff. It was a very busy Saturday night but they took good care of us and even though the food took a while due to it being so busy, it was well worth the wait. Cooked to perfection. No faults. I had the veg spring rolls with a plum sauce to start with and they were delicious as was the chicken vermicelli main course. The waitress was really helpful and couldnt do enough for us, plus really friendly and chatty. Great atmosphere inside and very clean and well presented. Would definitely recommend.
Deliciously fresh Thai food, good service and well priced
We visited Keswick on a weekend and ordered takeaway, so in terms of service and atmosphere I can t really comment, other than to mention that for takeaway they do pick up only and the kitchen closes at 8pm (it was a Saturday when we ordered), which seems early to me. Food was good, but not amazing. The chicken pad Thai s was a little dry but still decent. Cashew chicken was also good but maybe a touch too spicy. Good selection of vegetarian options though. Overall prices are on the higher side but I assume it s accepted / no other option as it seems to be the only Thai place in town. For example, a serving of vegetarian spring rolls consists of 4 rolls for £10 which is pricey considering that they are also relatively small size. Not my favourite Thai place ever, but also not the worst. If you re really craving Thai then I d go here, otherwise I d personally prefer a meal down at one of the pubs.
to start with the food was nice, unfortunately the service was terrible. I dont know if they were trying out a new ordering system or not but it was not working. after a long wait our starters didnt arrive but our mains did, upon asking all we got was did you order one? no apologies and the lady went off to check the order to see if we were telling the truth. when the mains came back one dish was missing the rice and when asked we got the same response as before and no apology. such a shame but we wont be going back and we are regular visitors to Keswick....
Delicious Thai food in Stratford-upon-Avon on main busy road (cant recall street name) where all the buses travel. Had quick lunch here on way to visit Shakespeare sights. Looks like a lovely ambience for dinner too. Fresh tasty Thai food with Thai servers. I enjoyed a delicious Thai crispy duck papaya salad. Great for familes, couples, solo travelers, everyone Definitely recommend
Delicious food, easy going atmosphere and great service
Lovely meal , place was very inviting , people were pleasant , I will be back
What a absolute amazing time we had, this is great for romantic meal or small parties, the meal tastea like a bit of heaven, I would highly recommend if you visit kedwick you try here without a doubt
Food ok but not up to the standard we have enjoyed on previous visits. Service was slow and somewhat indifferent. Cheerful ambience lacking. Glass of wine was on the small side.
As with most Thai restaurants the staff are very welcoming, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Definitely going back. Word of warning though... BOOK AHEAD.
Borderline experience. The waitress barely understands English and barely speaks it so she messes up the order. The kitchen is understaffed and the wait is interminable. All the staff are in survival mode and carefully avoid eye contact with customers. There are much better options in the country.
Food was nice, had the prawn Tom yum soup and chicken chili and holy basil. Interior was quite run down, and the service was... lets go with functional. Price was okay.
Been coming here once a year for the past few years for me and my partners anniversary. Every visit delivers! 10/10 food and staff. Will start coming every 6 months now to work through the menu faster !
Struggled to get in anywhere to eat as everyone was full, they got a table ready for use even though it was late, great service and quick, food excellent and reasonable, nice friendly staff, couldnt do enough for you
Food was delicious, so much flavour and perfect amount! Lots of options on the menu for vegetarians and a good mix of vegetables in both dishes we ordered. Very pleasant staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Had high expectations but unfortunately all the food we ordered was extremely bland and disappointing. Felt like a waste of money so would not recommend to anyone. Read reviews of customers becoming sick after eating here too which is shocking. Avoid eating here.
New to us and what a find. As authentic as you can get according to 2 of my companions who have travelled far and wide in Thailand. Great food, friendly and efficient service in a fine setting. To be repeated! ... and it was! So good we visited twice in our Keswick walking week so between us we had 8 different dishes, all superb and were welcomed like long lost friends. See you next year
Food was great. Try the green papya salad
Lovely food
Mooched around Keswick on Halloween weekend and found this place at the top of town, everywhere had waiting of around an hour. Seated straight away and they had plenty of room to be fair. Couple of Thai lagers on draught, Inchs on draught for a cider drinker. Good selection on the menu, if anything the service was over attentive but fair enough. Food was good and at reasonable price
Delicious dishes and friendly staff. Recommend this place.
Authentic ,Thai restaurant in the heart of Keswick .Value for
Date night in Keswick and the Man chose this restaurant as our eaterie. We arrived early, the place was busy but the service was lovely. The food was delicious and the bill reasonable. Id love to come again. Food : 5/5
Friendly staff , nice food .
The food was lovely however the restaurant was really cold and had to eat with our big coats on. Also the plates were freezing cold so your food was cold before we had eaten half of it. Very disappointed
Its ok. No more than that.
Great food very friendly staff
Ive had quite a few meals here, always excellent service and the food is delicious, Ive never been disappointed. Youre made welcome from the moment you walk in , and made comfortable by the friendly staff if you have a small wait. Nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend, and indeed look forward to my next visit.
Good friendly service, lovely decor and very nice meal. Would eat again if in the area.
Great food!
Lovely food, great service and staff. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. All good ! Will be back next time we are in keswick.
Really enjoyed the food, carefully marked for hotness making it easy to choose. Beautiful, subtle flavours
Food ok nice restaurant
Myself and my wife had a superb meal there last night. Lovely little place the decor is great and the restaurant is very clean and bright. Service was excellent and the food was lovely. The restaurant was busy which is always a good advert. Excellent value for money.
Brilliant
Lovely food and a very warm welcome
Average and a bit pricey
Having been to thailand a lot of times my wife and I was in keswick for a weekend and decided to give the asaya thai restaurant a try, its not my normal thing because what you normally get in 95% of uk thai restaurants is thai food for English people, unfortunately this was exactly the same, the food is ok, I would describe it more chinese than thai, what I mean by that is, I never saw a fresh thai red chilli in any of our dishes, the answers are always the same at these places, we dont think English people can eat spicy food, I mean can you imagine walking into an Indian restaurant and order a vindaloo but it comes back like a korma? You would complain, fortunately Indians dont go down that route and serve you what you order, dont get me wrong, if your not a fan of spicy authentic thai food, this is the place for you, there is also an element of money saving in this as birds eye chillis are expensive, so if as we did asked for the food to be spiced up, it was dry chilli that was added, everyone else seemed to be enjoying their food so maybe its me, but when I see something like som tam, papaya salad with no chillis on it I really dont get it, I think I will wait until we are next in thailand for my next thai food, disappointed yet again
Great service, very reasonable prices and the food was delicious.
Im a bit biased when it comes to Thai food. Pretty solid stuff and very friendly staff.
Tasty & inexpensive food. Had the Thai Fishcakes to start that were more batter than filling. Followed by Chicken Green Curry with Jasmine Rice, flavoursome, but soup watery & needed to be reduced and use more coconut cream. Not sure why it included bamboo shoots rather than lemon grass. Spicy medium hot, but no chillies. Passable, but look forward to getting back to Thailand with local ingredients, rather than westernised version or to better still Thai cooking for Thai. Now that is hot. Chris
Friendly staff and delicious food. Catered for our vegan requirements by adding tofu to dishes. 3 chilli meals had good heat and authentic flavour whilst they also have milder dishes. Highly recommend!
We were very pleased having stopped here on our short trip to Keswick. The staff were very friendly and the food was very tasty with a wide array of dishes available. I will certainly stop by again on our next trip to Keswick.
First time trying out Thai food. I had the Garlic and Peppers stir fry. Very swift service and lovely food
Great food and service.
Our meal was very good, decor was a bit tired and only instant coffee on offer.
Not great compared to the Thai meals that I ve had in Leeds and Wakefield. Small amounts of sauce with the starters, mains (sweet and sour, jungle curry) lacking in flavour and wishy washy sauce and the sticky rice must have been made with no more nails as it was more chewy than sticky. I m sorry but I won t be rushing back here.
Excellent food excellent service, first time trying Thai would highly recommend.
The food was very tasty. The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, this resulted in very long waiting times. Unfortunately, many details in the service were lost. Since we were on vacation, we were in no rush and were able to accept the long waiting time.
Incredibly warm welcome, good hearted people here, the food was amazing, absolutely packed with flavour, I will definitely be going again, do yourself a favour and book a table, if you love Thai food, you wont regret it
Great food, friendly welcome and good service
Gorgeous food
Amazing Restaurant with a great choice of Menu, lovely staff and very good price.
A decent experience. This is a good Thai restaurant, the food is good, good servings and well presented. The staff are very good, polite, courteous and helpful. There is disabled access to part of the restaurant which is okay. The toilets are a bit tricky depending on the level of disability as there are some steps to them. I would advise you book to ensure a table and if a member of your party has a disability let the restaurant know at the time. We have been there before and the experience was much better, however, there was apparently a staff member absent on the night.
Absolutely abysmal! I ordered king prawn noodles...oh my goodness the noodles were a shocking shade of grey and tasted soley of monosodium glutomate.. i was terrified to even try the prawns based on this....so I hastely sent it back and just ordered a bowl of rice, ( we had been out walking all day and not eaten since breakfast) My partner ordered sweet snd sour chicken and was equally unimpressed and disappointed. First and last visit to this sticky floored..filthy staired carpet establishment ..yuck!
my second time visiting Keswick - we spontaneously decided to go for this restaurant and it was a great choice. it didnt take long to get served and food was served around 15 mins after our order as well. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. I ordered yellow curry which was absolutely tasty. I didnt try others but my family were all happy with their meals. all and all was a good experience. Thank you Asaya.
Very nice food ,good sized portions Lager 6 quid a pint mind
Highly disappointed with the quality of food served. We had the veg Thai fried rice, veg Thai green curry, seafood pad thai and veg spring rolls. All the veg was cut into big chunks and both seafood and veg were overcooked and not fresh. Overall not a great representation of Thai food.
Second time we have been here and the food is brilliant.especially the pineapple rice in half a pineapple.great service, happy staff.
Good service, good food
Bland food, poor service. Very disappointed.
Good food. Pushing towards great.... probably would be if we werent in 30 mins before closing time. Staff were friendly considering
Being an absolute die hard Thai cuisine fan, and eating at my fair share of highly reviewed (by actual food critics) Thai restaurants in both Thailand and in several cities in the United States, I am so impressed with Asaya Thai restaurant in Keswick. First of all, my bar was low because hey, I m in a small town in the north of England. I was craving some savory Asian flavors after a long day of trekking and low and behold, this Thai restaurant was just down the lane from my bnb. I ordered the green curry with chicken, shrimp and cashew nut stir fry and their satay chicken all were excellent. Not to mention they have outside seating for pleasant evenings and the staff here are all so friendly and accommodating. The flavors of the food are deliciously authentic, and if you ask for Thai spicy, they will give it to you. So glad I found this restaurant to enjoy while staying in Keswick!
Good value and wide variety of dishes, pleasant dining experience
Friendly service. Tasty food. Not particularly spicy, which suited our children well. Portions arent large, but are quite adequate. The noodles and curries had good flavour. Spare ribs rather grisly but no other complaints at all. Would happily return.
Good evening, good company
We popped in here on the off chance of getting a table for an evening meal . Staff were so friendly and helpful booked us straight in . Food was amazing ,freshly cooked and piping hot . Service was very good ,good value for money will definitely be returning .
Underwhelmed by the food. Tasted like they had just opened a packet of sauce rather than made their own with fresh herbs and spices. Very average.
One visit ok service good, starters great. Need more experience to rate higher
Tasty food, but lacks atmosphere. The service is a bit abrupt. Ok if you want somewhere very informal.
Enjoyed a couple of authentic Thai dishes at Asaya Thai last night. We were particularly impressed that the owner includes traditional Thai vegetables (eg pea eggplant) in the curries.
Wonderful food and great service.... Thank you
Pleasant atmosphere, helpful nice staff. Comfi table and chairs we were seated by the window. There is plenty of place, they have table outside (you can sit with dog outside, because NOT DOG allowed inside, what i understand), so dont be outraged if they say: sorry no dog. They have tables downstairs and some upstaires. Toilette is clean and tidy, you have to go down in the basement on stairs, not wheelchair option to go to the toilette. They have various wine selection, and some thai beer, draft beer and in bottle too. We tried the drafted Singha, it was a nice, smooth one as a Peroni or Morietti. We chose for starter prawn crackers and garlic spare ribs. It was great for two of us. Main menu was Red curry with prawn and Penang curry with beef. In the red curry was enough big-king prawn (usually if you ask somewhere prawn something food you can not find too much in it), so here that was good, the taste was very delicious a bit somehow sweetie, but was really great and we asked medium spicy. The penang, i was really happy to have it, i asked medium spicy too. That was a different more stronger more herbs and salt character one. And i think to choose with beef was the best. Beef was not chewy, it was well cooked, great taste. Portions were good and enough. We had still coconut rice and sticky rice. Sticky rice was for me just enough amount (but i loved it, that is what i can not do at home), coconut rice was in a nice big bowl, so was enough. I think the price is in the average - as every other restaurant. Prawn crackers was £3.50, ribbs £6 (but as i said we could share both), and main course £11.50 or if you asked with seafood £14. Rice maybe £3.50. I do not remember of the beer price but i think 1 pint about £5 what is again, now it is an average price everywhere. Oh important no spicy rates at the food (i missed it, as i know long long time ago they put the pepper sign behind the food name), so just when you read the food description you can see that it is spicy. But ask the staff, they are helpful and try to find the best for you. And, you can have a request how spicy you would like the food - mild, medium, strong or you can ask on the real thai way too i suppose, but i am sure i could not eat that. You will see that most of the staff are thai and the chefs too. I think it is important. So, i recommend this restaurant for a nice thai food in a nice pleasant environment. This worth the money to try it. But book a table, not sure you can walk in, especially not in the dinner time, they are open from 5pm. We went there to 5:30pm and almost every table was full.
This place managed to squeeze us in even though we didn t have a booking and they were quite busy. Food was amazing, waitress was outstanding, very friendly experience, reasonably priced. We left happy and full after a full day of hiking. Would definitely recommend.
Friendly staff, good Thai tasty food. Only criticism is like many Thai restaurants, the main course turns up too soon after the starter when you could do with a 10 minute gap.
Just average chinese food nothing special. Staff were friendly and the service was good. However we left feeling sick after being charged £3.90 each for 3 pints for soda and lime!
Cozy place and wonderful staff. The food was delicious as well. Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs and kids were there when we dined. Food : 5/5 |
In the heart of Keswick, this large restaurant spreads across two floors. An efficient and friendly team serve lovely food in a timely manner. As everywhere, prices are up lately.
It was ok nothing special
Brilliant
Lovely red curry best Ive had wife enjoyed the jungle curry staff brilliant service credit to owners
The food was delicious! I wanted to get it extra spicy, and after she triple checked that I knew what I was getting myself into, the waitress made sure that I got absolutely mouth meltingly spicy noodles. They were not playing around, the food was VERY spicy (but not unbearable, maybe 7/10) so if thats your thing, you can definitely get it here. Vegetarian options: Tofu is available with pretty much anything, but watch out for some dishes with oyster sauce
Delicious Thai food at a fair price. Spring rolls are awesome with some nice Thai rice dishes. Food is well served and the place is clean and warm. Vegetarian options: Good choice Parking: Some on road parking. Free after 1800. Kid-friendliness: OK for kids
The owner was very accommodating to our requests. Good larb salad after years of hunting for one, pad thai was good as well. Authentic thai meal when in Keswick.
Went to the Asaya for our wedding anniversary meal last night. Great service, wonderful food and a great ambience. The portions were generous and it really was a fantastic experience. So glad we chose to go there.
Very poor food. Nothing like any Thai food we have ever had (even in Thailand). Very harsh lighting, not many customers, no atmosphere. Staff were friendly and nice but unfortunately thats the only good bit, sorry. Wont be going back.
Great restaurant. We had the Penang and Yellow Curray and they tasted amazing - good price too Staff were very lovely!
Got our order completely wrong, had to wait over 40 minutes for the food to arrive and then another 10minutes for the correct order to come. No apology or acknowledgement of the wrong order. Slightly redeemed by the great tasting food.
I ordered tom yum, pad thai, etc. The taste was neither special nor impossible to eat. It was not a small amount. While I was in the bathroom, my husband and children ordered drinks. They ordered a soft drink with lime and asked if the drink was carbonated because I dont give carbonated drinks to my children. I asked about the name of the British drink because I wasnt familiar with it, but the female Asian employee responded with an annoyed attitude and a dismissive attitude. When the food came out, the fried rice was different from the picture, so I told him that it didnt look like it, and he got annoyed even then. I was comforting my husband by saying that the employee must have been tired, but he was smiling and responding to the British customers at the table next to him. From then on, I started to feel worse. Even though I asked for the bill, he seemed to ignore it, so I asked the waiter, an old man, to give it to me. Even after paying the bill and leaving, the female employee just stared at me... I dont want to recommend it because of its very unpleasant attitude. We are from Korea. I ordered Pad Thai, Tomyang and so on. The taste is neither special nor unfeasible. It wasnt a small amount. My husband and my kids ordered a soft drink with lime and asked them if the soda was in it because we don t feed them soda. He asked because He was not familiar with the name of the British drink, but the Waitress responded with a disrespectful attitude. The food came out, but unlike the picture. We asked her whether it is right food or not. She looks like upset and my husband got annoyed. I was trying to soothe my husband, saying it must be because the employee was tired, but she was smiling and responding to the English guests at the next table. After that, I felt bad, too. I asked for the bill, but she didn t come. So I asked another waiter for it. The waitress was so rude .I would not recommend this restaurant.
A busy night and glad we booked. The food was delicious and having walked up Scaffell Pike that day we felt justified in eating plenty
Good food with great service! Tasty Currys and loved the Pineapple Fried Rice!
Going again tomorrow

Enjoyed a very good takeaway meal. The order that had been phoned in was ready for collection when arrived. The meal was well worth the money.
Nice Street food, authentic.
