25 years ago I was told to go here by the cancer clinic because the food was so good and it was !! We ate from here and brought friends to experience this restaurant with us. 11 years ago I moved out of the area and haven’t had it until yesterday when driving back from Toronto. I looked on skip the dishes and saw the restaurant was still there and ordered the same 2 dishes I always had 25 years . I picked up my take out and 3 hours later opened the bag excited to eat. What a huge failure. For soup I ordered . “”A. Tom Yum Goong House favourite. Hot and soup with shrimp and Thai mushrooms.”” What I actually got in the container was not spicy at all and was basically a cream sauce over fully cooked broccoli and cauliflower . Not once single mushroom of any kind. They did include a nice note in the bag that said they had run out of mushrooms. I would have appreciated a phone call . For meal I ordered “”6. Golden Chicken House favorite. Spicy. Hot and sour dark meat, special house curry sauce, peanuts, and coconut milk.”” This was not spicy at all but was orange and cooked small pieces of chicken with gristle. Sad the food is nothing at all like it was 25 years ago and nothing like it was when they had the other location up on princess.
Seems like a nice family run restaurant. I really recommend their curry. I personally don't like fish sauce, but the smell is stronger than the taste, and it actually tastes pretty good when added to the vermicelli.
Visited this place on April 4th, 2024. Got late lunch with my friends and stumbled upon this establishment. I ordered a rice and curry chicken dish (pictured). The food tasted pretty good and was a decent price. The service was also fine and the food came out fairly quickly. The atmosphere was just a little eerie? We were the only ones in the restaurant at this time which we thought was a little odd, but it didn’t ruin the experience.
Good food! Tried the pineapple tofu and it was nice. Maybe the quantity was ok but not so large with respect to the price.
The food was okay; however, the place feels dead. Play some nice music, brighten the space up a little bit, and make the customer want to stay rather than run out. A big renovation is needed.
The place had a simple but beautiful decoration, its dishes were very generous and with a very good flavor, the waiter who served us did his best to speak to us in French, we loved the chicken and vegetables phat thai, what a spectacular sauce!
We were happy to stop by this restaurant where we appreciated the lemon grass beef skewers. It was tender and juicy! The owner was very nice and exchanged a few words in French as my partner is francophone. We also had pad Thai and we loved the sour taste of it. Well definitely come back
Went there on Saturday, April 1st 2023 at around 7pm. Atmosphere was just the way we like it: quiet and peaceful. We had special #1 and special #4. I was amazed at how much protein was served, most restaurants skimp out on the protein. Slightly bland marinades, but that's great for the sodium conscious folks. Pricing was fair for what we got. Would go again!
Its worth the trip for the golden chicken.
Excellent food and generous servings. Looking forward to returning!
I used to eat at Phnom Penh regularly when I was a student in Kingston over 20 years ago. On this trip to Kingston, we decided to try it again. Sadly the experience was very disappointing. On arrival (Sat night 7:30pm), there was not a single soul in this restaurant. That despite every other restaurant on the street bustling with people and completely packed. That had me worried, but I still gave it a chance. We entered and sat down and immediately noticed the very dated decor that made the place like more of a cafeteria than a restaurant. We got the menu and tried to order starting with the crispy shrimp. The server, who said he was the new owner of the restaurants since 2012, said he would have to check to see if they had that. He went to the kitchen and came back and said that they were out of that. We then tried to order a different fried item from the appetizer menu but he said they were out of that as well. When we asked if it was because they had turned off their fryer, he denied that, but somehow he had a different shrimp dish that was not fried. We ordered two of my favorite dishes from the past, Phanaeng Kai and Golden chicken. We also ordered the Lemongrass beef and the Tofu Pad Thai. When the first two dishes, both curries over rice, arrived, we were surprised at the poor presentation. The issues consisted of the chicken with the sauce and rice and absolutely nothing else. This was quite different than my experience with those dishes in the past. However, the flavor was decent if nothing special. Unfortunately, some of the pieces of chicken were not properly cooked, although we did not make an issue of this as it was towards the end of the meal when we noticed that and there were enough other things to be unhappy about. The lemongrass beef was tasty and I have no complaints about that. Then the Pad Thai arrived. While Pad Thai is not a favorite dish of mine, I know the dish very well as Thai food is my favorite food and I have spent months in Thailand over different trips. The dish that arrived looked nothing like Pad Thai (see pic). I called the owner over and told him that what had arrived was not Pad Thai. He argued with me and told me that it was Pad Thai. When I told him how familiar I am with the dish and what it was missing, he told me when you come to this restaurant, this is what Pad Thai is! I was quite annoyed by his attitude and the fact that he clearly did not have the right ingredients (or knowledge) to make Pad Thai, but was insisting on giving me some noodles with a bit of tofu on top and expecting me to accept the dish. Nevertheless, on his insistence that I should try the dish and that it was good, I gave it a try. It was bloody awful. Tasted nothing like Pad Thai and both the noodles and the tofu had terrible texture and flavor. It was essentially flavored with some soy sauce and sugar and had nothing other than noodles, tofu, and a bit of green onions. Needless to say, we barely touched that dish. But again, I did not bother to say anything else because it was clear this is not the kind of restaurant owner who is responsive to constructive criticism. When he came to clear the table and noticed that the dish was left essentially untouched, he did not say a thing nor offer to take that item off our bill considering my previous protest. That in itself says a lot about an owner. I am certain that he knew that what he had served me was not Pad Thai and that he treated me like an ignorant foreigner who wouldnt know the difference. When we asked for the bill, we were told that we had to go stand at the counter and pay that way. So theres another negative towards service. In the end, we were clearly disappointed by our experience. The decor, the service, and the food at this old favorite restaurant left much to be desired. Considering the new owners have had the place for 12 years and it was completely empty at prime time on a Saturday night, and the reasons for that becoming clear after our experience, it is difficult to imagine how this restaurant could survive moving forward.
low key KH resto w/middle class clientele. simple menu, cold beer, efficient owner/waiter/cashier, almost clean WC. CC accepted. high Q/P
This food was so bad I literally feel ripped off. If I didn t get take out and leave the restaurant I would have demanded my money back. Actually bad food, not good. Curry was grey. Pad Thai was like noodles and pieces of tofu with no sauce. It was so low effort I actually feel offended, like if you made this in front of me I would assume you don t like me. Please, if you re looking for a good meal don t eat here. This meal ruined my night, and it was nearly $50 for two dishes. Don t know how these guys are in business (or can even sleep at night) serving this food. Sad.
The server was nice to talk with, the food was good but not exceptional. There was quite some dishes that we wanted to try out, but they sadly couldnt make it (out of stock). The problem I had with the place was more about the ambiance of the restaurant. It was way too dark inside, which makes it less welcoming. They should make the place more bright & add a little background music and it wouldve been a way much better experience
The restaurant Needs renovation however very good service and food.
Great food and service!
Great food. We all enjoyed it. Run down looking but dont let that discourage you as the food is so good.
The food here is always outstanding. The golden chicken is my favourite and it has become my go-to every time I visit. The place isnt fancy, but with food this food it doesnt need to be! What you get here is unbelievably tasty for a great price. What else do you need?
Food is authentic and delicious, owner is super nice
The best southeast Asian food in Kingston, it is the closest to what I used to eat when I lived there. Would highly recommend.
I was so happy to see that this place was still open. I used to go to it all the time over 20 years ago. I walked in and it was the same layout - couldnt believe it. I walked up to the counter and the owners were Asian - awesome - its still the same family maybe... I looked at the menu. I used to get #13 - the hottest green curry Ive ever had. So hot but you kept going - nearly too hot to eat and I have a very high tolerance - it was awesome! I asked the owner where #13 was and she didnt know what I was talking about, even after much details. I thought maybe i was mistaken about the #, but Im pretty sure I wasnt, so I ordered #12 - the green Thai curry and said make it super hot. 15 minutes later I picked it up. 15 minutes later Im in my hotel room. 1 minute later Im opening the container. Looked delicious. I started to eat and it went down hill after that. Was mild in heat and had lots of broccoli and hunks of cabbage. Ive eaten a lot of Thai Green chicken curries and I never saw it made this way before. I still ate it because it was eatable but so very dismayed that it wasnt remotely the same quality as I recalled so many years ago. So disappointing.
Got vermicelli with beef. Tasteless. I would guess that the only spice they use was salt. Vermicelli was overcooked. Very far from my experience with Cambodian food.
Restaurant is nice, service good but the food is really not up to par. Had a Pad Thai yesterday that wasn t friend, had no bean sprouts or eggs and was basically noodles in a saucy soup with peanuts. It was the worst Thai dish I ve ever had.
Good service but, I can t say I like the food Pad thai was soggy, overall tasteless, but probably has too much vinegar and sugar.
First of all, the service here is good. However, Its not Asian food and the chife didnt try to make an acceptable presentation... Being in Canada many years, I have accepted the taste of the Asian restaurants here are not authentic, but at least they will chop the chicken breast into pieces and put some veggies aside. Here I dont see a good cooking attitude.
Phenom phen? Not phenomenonal. If youre looking for good Canadian Asian food (Cambodian/Thai), just dont come here. Really, spend your money elsewhere (especially if youre accustomed to Toronto Asian food). Got #1. Curry itself was good, but for $17, three 3-3.5 long, 1-1.5 wide chicken breasts with a heaping of rice felt like Id been cheaped out on. Doesnt curry usually come with... vegatables? more? Just... something more? I feel were missing the act of... cooking? Friend ordered something that was not Pad Thai, or at least in any way Ive seen it. It was for sure rice noodle with green onion, tofu and soy sauce in it. Not much else. Tofu was good. It was mostly filler. I was not fulfilled. Head to Thai House up the street, or the Wok In Restaurant if you catch em on an open day. Theres a lot more quality Asian food in Kingston now, you dont need to settle for this anymore.
Really good food
Phnom Penh hasnt changed in 15 years. The portions are not smaller, the taste is as great as ever. I missed it.
I had a #2 chicken coriander and it was extremely good. I would recommend it. It has a very spicy sauce but its very mild and delicious and the fresh pineapple bites provide a great balance with the coriander and the rest of the dish. Unfortunately, one bite of the chicken in my wifes pad thai was very underdone and near raw. She kept talking about how better the competitors pad thais were. But most of her meal appeared well-cooked, satisfactory, but she seemed disappointed in it because she enjoys pad-thais... When I got to the bathroom it was appauling how old and neglected the mens bathroom looked. I saw a woman who was sitting there near the cash for my whole visit doing nothing so I could not reconcile the dirty bathroom. This can be a huge red flag for a customer. Nevertheless, if my dish and appetizer didnt turn out tasting and satisfying me so well then I would have given this place a 2 star. More love and effort is needed with this place. A little more effort will definitely go a long way.
Really delicious food and really good service
Large portions, good prices, and very tasty food.
This was one of the worst take out meals I have gotten. The pad Thai was just a pile of noodles with barely any sauce. The red curry was extremely small and underwhelming
Friendly owners
Fantastic food at great prices. Try the Phnom Penh soup. Its Spicy but amazing. Food
Spring rolls were the bomb.
Irritated to waste money on this place. Over priced for the quality food we got.
Stopped in for lunch while visiting Kingston. The place was empty but figured it was worth a try. Spring rolls tasted very rotten which ruined the experience. Didn t bother with the rest of the food since I just wanted to leave.
Veggies werent fresh. Spring rolls were tasteless. Pad Thai sauce was obviously from a bottle and not homemade. Pretty disappointing and expensive
Fantastic takeout for my birthday. Pad thai, golden peanuty chicken, ginger beef, bbq pork with noodles. All very flavourful, makes you say Oh Wow!! Great friendly service also.
Their Phnom Pehn soup is one of the most delicious South East Asian soups I ve tried. Paired with white rice, it s big enough for two people. Recommend this place.
Wow. Amazing food. #12 pictured here was a tasty green curry with just the right balance of flavour and heat. Veggies perfectly al dente and generous portions of chicken which was so tender. Food came quickly with great service and at a very competitive price. Highly recommend.
I have never tasted anything this good in the league of curries. I ordered the green curry. It was delicious! And the service was lovely.
Good place to get soup.
I tried there green curry with steam rice that s really good. It is spicy and has perfect blend of all spices.
Delicious beyond words. I got the green curry and Thai style. Nice and spicy and perfectly balanced. Wife got the number one and vermicelli also perfect. Showed up piping hot from Uber eats in less time than they quoted. Can t wait to have it again.
I was in Kingston for a family trip and ate at the restaurant, my mother has been here in the past and said the food was amazing. Everything on the menu sounds delicious, I very much enjoyed the Tom Yum Goong soup, a bit spicy but the noodles made it tasty! Not just that the restaurant is very cozy and gives a lot of warmth when I first walked in, very nostalgic. The family-owned restaurant is very nice and the owner is very kind as well. Its not that expensive and tastes delightful, you wont regret it! Would recommend to those who love Asian cuisine and savory food!
The owner is a really nice person and the food is great ! So comforting also the prices are really reasonable ! I love this place ^^
Good food, fresh ingredients, prompt service, decent prices, restaurants is dated and is in need of some TLC especially the washrooms!
I love this place and have been getting the same consistent food and dish from here for over 20 years. I love this place. If you like peanut sauce dishes I highly recommend the Golden Chicken, they have it spicy and mild!
So good. So so good.
Food was good but for the price, I expected a more generous serving
I love this place primarily for their wonton soup which is full of wonton!! And their beef on a mountain dish, lovely fresh veg and beef on a mountain of noodles! The prices are great and if you are looking for a decent phad thai which I always am, this is the substitution I would go with so far. They are so friendly and have been very accommodating to my schedule in the past (one time my daughter wasnt being agreeable and I was almost 20 minutes past close), I felt so bad but they smiled and assured me it was not a problem.
New to Kingston. I Ordered #4 alot of the lettuce was brown and spring rolls had meat in them, took filling out as i did not like the meat. Food was only warm. Uber left the food in lobby of building with nothing to identify who it was for.
I had pad Thai and it was amazing. My husband had a different dish and wished he got what I got. It was quick service, hot food that tasted good, and priced well. Definitely recommend going.
Went out for a late night dinner date and decided to try this place out, its been on my list for a while I just never got to it. Im glad we choose to eat here because the food was really good and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Between the lighting inside and the music playing it was a very relaxing night. The staff were very friendly and the food was prepared quickly. Prices are also very fair. Overall it was a really great experience and we will definitely be back!
Really good food and great service. I had the #14 special and it couldn t have been any better.
The restaurant has been around for years. Food is enjoyable and reasonably priced.
Great little hole in the wall spot in the heart of downtown. Plenty of dishes to choose from and very delicious. Nice family run business and friendly service.
Had veggie pad thai and it was delicious.
I had the pad thai, the chicken was raw and elastic and mushy, the noodles were overcooked to the point that they were basically a brick of mushy garbage, and there was very little sauce. It was inedible and I am not very picky. I would rather go to the dollar store and buy a $0.25 pack of instant ramen.
Would give zero stars if it was an option, went here as our other Thai / cambodian restaurant was closed, thought we would try it out,,,,, Asked for a meal for kid that doesnt like spice, they said they had a dish for kids it wasnt spicy..... incorrect, it was spicy, the chicken for the meal was like a rubber ball tossed onto a grill, I had a flavorless chicken stir fry with burnt and or mushy bell peppers and chewey chicken, husband had an equally disappointing pad thai. None of us finished our dinner and we were charged more than the stated amount on their take out menu, very disappointing waste of money and drive downtown, would have preferred a icicle for dinner at least it would tasted like something.
Tofu Pad Thai didnt have any green onions, peanuts, bean sprouts, etc. It was just under-sauced noodles and tofu. Phanaeng Goong was made without coconut milk, despite what the menu says.
Phnom peng used to be good!, however over the past couple of years I have noticed the quality and taste of their food has went wayyyy down. super bland now adays. I jsut had their tom yum soup and it was quite odd. Check out pats , cambodiana, royal angkor or cambodian village right beside them
Online menu pricing different than actual prices, very misleading
Poor service and false advertising with the menu and price. Food is bad.
The owners dont mix well with customers
Really enjoyed the golden chicken.
Really enjoyed the curried chicken.
Delicious reasonably priced food
I love this restaurant, when I was at Queens feeling very homesick and missing good food I used to eat here at least once a week. They were always so nice to me, and I still dream of their golden chicken which I can t seem to find anywhere else! One of the best curries I ve ever had.
Yummy
Friendly little restaurant with great Asian fare. Have enjoyed their spicey soups for years and their other offerings aint shabby. Reasonably priced.
Worst pad Thai Ive ever been served. Smelled like a reheated wet dog. We were told its not their fault that people dont like the food... avoid this place.
Went here for a formal lunch with work mates and had a nice time! The ambience, staff, menu options were very good. Service was quick. We got the spicy tofu, tofu spring rolls and tofu pad Thai and all of them were tasty! The only tiny disappointment was they dont have a dessert menu
The food is always fantastic, and there is always a table. We have dined in and got delivery from this restaurant and have enjoyed it every time. We got one green and one red curry with an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls and crunchy and delicious, the curries were spicy and creamy - just they way they should be. Would recommend for some cambodian food.
Enjoyed this take-out meal. Picked two of the house specials and was pleasantly surprised at how they were done; special 4 was a nice twist on a common Thai dish with beef and coconut sauce. The special 6 is not for the feint of heart in the spice department, but it is incredibly flavourful and the seafood was cooked perfectly. Would try more dishes from here for sure.
Had the worst food EVER! LEGIT EVER!
This place was AWFUL. The food is NOT as advertised, the prices online did NOT match the amount I was charged, and the taste was absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! They used spaghetti noodles for the pad Thai and I was genuinely wondering whether I was eating Italian or Thai. We were told that not liking pad Thai was our fault, not theirs, but we are all avid pad-Thai eaters and have truly never experienced anything as disgusting! Avoid at all costs, I can t believe this has 4 stars. I am in disbelief.
Great little restaurant. The dining area was relatively clean. The sitting area is pretty small and fills up fast. The food was great but one dish was a tad too spicy. There is a good selection of dishes and the prices are reasonable. One negative point is that the kitchen is right adjacent to the dining area like within same room and the cooking doors leave a smell on your clothing. It s a family business with a hard working couple as owners which makes up for the small dining area and the cooking smell.
Special #3 is an amazing Green Curry. Dont order if you cant handle your spice! Its authentic, delicious and spicy!
Best ever
Great little spot right on King st. The food was fantastic and the extensive menu was a very pleasant surprise. We were a table of 6 and everyone was really pleased with their dish. The soups were outstanding and had just the perfect amount of heat. Highly recommend for a little change to the traditional Thai style menu.
We used to be regulars at Phnom-Penh for years but a few years ago we quit dining there when they took the salad rolls off the menu. The restaurant changed owners awhile back and we returned to find not only the menu better than before but the food SO MUCH better than it used to be!!...and salad rolls! Excellent beer choices as well. Excellent service too! Really amazing for the price. Excellent service. Delicious and tasty food with lots of perfume. Quiet ambience as well. Dont miss that one in Kingston!!!
Excellent food, excellent prices, excellent customer service!
Been going here for over 10 years and it continues to be one of my favourite restaurants in town!
Real Cambodian food. You should try this restaurant in downtown Kingston
Very good food for a dive.
Delicious food
Great chicken curry and spring rolls are unreal. Good prices just tends to get overlooked by the new spots with nicer decor.
Excellent food.
The food was amazing: i strongly recommend the green curry soup, lemongrass beef and golden chicken. We enjoyed so much the flavor combinations of these three dishes. The atmosphere was cozy and the service very nice (FYI: its a family business). Definitely a must if you stop by Kingston
Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We found a jewel in the heart of Kingston. Delicious and tasty food. Clean and nice ambiance. My family and i definitely recommend this family business restaurant. Will be back soon..
Food was amazing!
Came here for lunch and I was surprised how good the food is. Will definitely come back and would bring my whole family if I have to. They need to try their food!! So good!!
Salad rolls are great.
A staple in downtown Kingston for Thai food they still have eat in or take away option the food quality is great the portion size is amazing the flavor is always on point and the staff is super friendly
I dont often eat out, but when I do, its at the Phnom Penh. I always order the golden chicken and the fresh salad rolls with shrimp. Although the ambiance is not one of romance nor is it a trendy place, youd be hard pressed to find better Cambodian food. The restaurant isnt fancy, but its clean, the service is quick, and the staff is efficient. Add in that the prices are reasonable, and you have a great place to have a quick and delicious meal. Its definitely a place I recommend.
Love this place. Amazing food great owners. The decor is a little dated but adds to the ambiance. Highly recommended
The most authentic, delicious Cambodian Thai cuisine you ll find in Canada. Amazing quality and service! If you re visiting Kingston this is an absolute must see!
Great service
Good service. Good food. Good price. Casual dining with friends, cant go wrong.
Good price and good food. Hard to ask for more than that.
The food was good. But the restaurant was dirty the bathrooms very dirty.
Stopped in here at 8:30PM on our way from Ottawa to Hamilton. Excellent food thats fresh and tastes just like Cambodia. Well worth the visit for authentic Khmer food.
Such good food. I dont eat in there because of work and it looks a bit old, but dont let the appearance fool you. The food is great. Try the #1 its delicious if you like curry dishes. Not even super spicy.
I edited this review. 3 months ago I gave 5 stars. Today I only gave 4 stars. Good food and service in general. The Phonm Penh soup is very good as well as Phnom Penh fried rice. The chicken penang this time is tough and this is the reason I only gave 4 stars. 3 months ago the chicken penang was soft and tender. The Beef lemon grass is good but too much green peppers. I am not rating the ambiance. The place is old but I come for the food.
Great food. Not the best ambience but cant get golden chicken like this anywhere else in Ontario. Travel between Ottawa and Toronto often and we stop by for dinner or lunch when we can because its so good.
I ordered a Specialty #2 from menu that consists of chicken, cashew& rice. Its basically precooked and microwaved. The ambient is also not that good either. Idk if its the location but people that rate this place above 2 stars havent tried real Thai food.
Very yummy. Nice people who run the restaurant.
Love the Golden Chicken. The chef always changes the spice level to our liking. Among other favourites are spicy fried prawns and red curry. On our every trip to Kingston we make it a point to stop by for lunch or dinner.
Family run Cambodian/Thai place with a relaxed atmosphere.
Great taste, quick service, and fair price
Love the food here !
Always amazing food and friendly service.
Great spot. Awesome location, food is flavourful, generous, and fairly priced. Used to go here lots during university, and was back for the first time in a decade, and its as good now as it was then.
Nice food. Great service.
Great food
Nice place off of downtown Kingston. Food plentiful on plate. Great service
Always fantastic
Service slow even when it was empty the server I presume who was the owner was cooking the food too. Used to be a go to place but something major has changed...maybe too much competition?
Great atmosphere
Disappointing. Food slow and expensive. Not a good value.
The food is pretty decent. You get a lot for the money. The service is still pretty poor.
The best food! Its a family-owned place which has great food great service. I would highly recommend.
Everytime I go to this little hole in the wall, I have the best food. Its a little sketchy looking from the outside, and maybe the inside... By no means go into the washroom. But I adore how fresh the veggies are in any of the dishes. They are never over cooked. Always to perfection. Great food, always charming staff, always room for people to stop in short notice.
Its not going to blow your socks off and its kinda expensive. But its right downtown. Much better in the area.
The owner of this restaurant treats all customers like royalty. I went for their Thai green curry at least twice a week throughout my stay in Kingston, as it tasted like homemade food. It is also one of the best thai green chicken curries Ive ever tasted in my life!
Great Cambodian food and owner.
Quick service and great food
I love the pad Thai at this place
Excellent food and the staff are really friendly, I go there for some good food often when I m downtown. The food s a bit pricy, but I think it s worth it considering the quality of food. All in all, I d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a tasty, filling meal
We were very disappointed in our meals...they ran out of chili peppers! How can you make good Cambodian cuisine with out chili peppers ?...
Love this place
I ordered the Phad Thai... It was awful, no flavor at all. Service was also poor. I definitely will not be returning.
No vegan options
Very clean and tasty food. Didnt have to wait long for reasonably priced food.
This was my favorite restaurant in Kingston before I moved to Toronto 10 years ago, and their #1 dish was spectacular! Unfortunately, over the years they have changed this dish completely. It was decent but the flavors werent there anymore. And the amount of chicken you get is less than 50% of what it use to be. Overall this place is decent but not the great place it use to be.
Have been going to this restaurant for 8 years. Small family restaurant with great Cambodian food! We love their golden chicken and cannot find this amazing taste anywhere else in Ontario. Not even in Toronto or Ottawa. Tips: do not add veggie to any saucy plate. We did that last time and they steam/boil the veggie, so when they add it to the sauce it completely waters it down and dilutes it. We go to this restaurant for the delicious food really and not for service or ambience. if you are looking for something fancy, this is not the place.
Yummy food nice friendly staff
Love the food here. Ive always enjoyed the pad thai and red curry dishes. Portion sizes are stellar and you wont find better value in Kingston. The service is on the impersonal/less professional side, but that ultimately adds to the family-business atmosphere of the place. Highly recommend stopping in for a bite.
The reason that I gave this restaurant 1 star is not because of the food, is because of service. The service here is very very bad. We went in to the restaurant, sat down, they gave us menu and that it. They just left us there. One girl brought us the water, and she spilled the water almost on my father clothes, and she just walked away. I felt bad for the other group that came after us because the group had been sitting there for almost 15 mins and nobody gave them the menu. AKA: the restaurant was not busy. If it is Cambodia, everyone will just walk away without eat their food. The food is so so, and dirty.
No-frills restaurant...correct and varied food. ..not excessive prices and friendly staff
Very good, hearty and good quality dishes at a fair price
Reheated chicken not fresh plain rice average cleanliness The Pepsi can was perfect
Good customer service. One of their main dishes was very tasty and affordable. They have an easy to read menu and lots of sitting areas to my opinion.
This is my go-to place for a delicious bowl of their trademark, name soup with noodles, chicken, lemon grass and green curry (among other ingredients). $10 to $14 will leave you with a full belly and good feelings. Much of their other fare is great as well, or at the very least standard for Asian cuisine, and their prices are awesome considering they are only half a block away from both City Hall (Market Square) and Princess St. Parking can thus be an issue however.
One of my favorite places for a quick bite that is tasty and healthy
Always a good place to go for something cheap and filling!
Seems like a hole in the wall but food is amazing and well priced.
Beeeest sweet and sour chicken eveeeer!!
Everything was beyond DELICIOUS!!
Very authentic Cambodian restaurant. If you like spice this place is for you.
Very good food.
The food was very good. The spring rolls and pad Thai I had was the best Ive tried in Kingston. The building is a little shabby and it was too hot without air conditioning running. Probably the challenge of competing with the other restaurants on the street.
Yummy food. Well worth a visit. Even carried takeaway
Great food and service
This is an affordable place to eat, and serving sizes are on the bigger side. Drinks are affordable, though they were out of the first two juice choices I asked for. The Cambodian rolls were good, made with a flaky pastry unlike other places weve tried in Kingston. Our two main dishes were tasty, but one came with just three little strips of chicken breast, another one or two would have made it great.
Owner is on site and the food is great.
The golden chicken were tasteful and the spring rolls carefully fried. The price is very affordable if you order the meal for 2 see the last page of menu.
Inexpensive, friendly staff. The chef came out to ask how our lunch was; the Pad Thai is delicious.
The foods great but maybe when the sketchy delivery boy shows up a prewarning should be given that they dont have debit.
Im a regular for about a year now cant go wrong with this place.
Try the fish cakes
Great food!
Good food, never too busy...
Absolutely fabulous! Great food and hospitality. Will definitely be back!
Slow service but food was phenomenal
So good. Never had to wait for a table. Samla Namya (probably spelled that wrong) soup is delicious!
Casual place. Good curry soup especially for Kingston.
Excellent food. Love the red curry.
I love my special #1 amazing :)
A nice quiet place to check for great food! A good variety of food, a bit on the spicy side, but I assume if ones checking this cuisine they know what they are up for. With its size, the waiting time is none or almost none. Their green curry is my favorite but if youre not up for that much spicy you may as well check the chicken curry with basil and peanut or even chicken skewer on rice with vegetable and peanut sauce on the side so you can adjust the spice to your tasting.
Love their fresh wraps and #1! Great option if youre in a hurry/looking for takeout!
Amazing Thai food in downtown Kingston.
Good, but not great Thai place. Now a bit pricey for what it is after a price hike.
Ive visited almost every Thai food restaurant in Kingston and wanted to give this place a try. My dish had too much coconut milk therefore lacked flavor and wasnt overly appetizing. My girlfriend ordered the golden chicken an the flavor was awful. We both experienced stomach pains and indigestion after trying the dish (me later that night). I called and spoke with the owner and after almost 10 mins of arguing and the lady trying to make me feel bad about complaining she offers 1 free meal. There are many other great Thai food restaurants around town to choose over Phnom-Penh such as Royal Angkor on Princess street (better value/better quality)
Came here for a quick lunch with my girlfriend. Place is a bit old and outdated but dont let that fool you on the quality of their food. We ordered green curry and pineapple fried rice and it was some of the best we had!
A some staff. Great food. The owners are the cooks and take pride in what they create.
Cheap, fast and great food
Order the golden chicken.... Life will never be the same:)
Wandered into this place thinking it was interesting but the food extremely disappointing. Over cooked Pad Thai and even Thai curry was blah... maybe we caught them on a bad night but I dont think that well be back.
I have tried spicy tofu and veg curry, both vegeterian dishes served with rice and they where gooooood.
Delicious food and fast service. Best red curry chicken in Kingston.
Good green curry... Thats really the only thing I get here and can comment on... Its made properly spicy... None of this, how spicy do you want it on a scale of 1-10? Nonsense you get at some restaurants... Nothing special about the decor or service, but it dont really care about that stuff.. Food is decent enough that o come back pretty regularly whenever I visit Kingston.
