Food was amazing. We got the double cooked sweet and sour pork and loved it. Staff was great as well and answered any of our questions.
Arrived at that location after stopping by another restaurant that closed earlier than usual schedule. I was surprised with the accommodation as we arrived 15 min before 10pm for a take out order, food was ready in 10min. Portions of soup are big (hence the fair cost for the size) noodles were good and Bok Choy was crispy. I would have liked more green onions though. 4/5 for the atmosphere, as the tables reminded me a food court place, but overall clean ans simple.
The restaurant didn’t seem the cleanest, but there was a wide variety of Chinese food on the menu. The dishes came out fairly quickly and all the food was seasoned well. It got a little heavy at the end though. The lamb skewers were really delicious and well spiced.
Having lived in Beijing for a total of 7 years, I have memories only stirred by thier food. This is absolutely authentic mainland China cuisine.
First time to go to this restaurant. Place looks clean. It was quite busy as the evening goes by. We ordered 3 different dishes, beef fried rice, Singaporean noodles and beef stir fry. I found those two dishes was so salty, I told the server about the saltiness of the dishes, she abruptly say, next time when we go we will tell them that to put too much salt”! I said to myself, don’t worry we will not coming back here again. I was shock to hear that, it wasn’t the right. Answer that I would like to hear. Price is expensive base of the dishes we received.
its very good, the food is nice. dont get fooled by its “not very clean” enviorment, everything is fine. it actually has the cleanest washrooms. 8 of us went, and totalled to less than 20 bucks a person
I really love coming here when I'm in Kingston. It is one of the few spots you can hit up for really delicious Northern-style cuisine. I got the Double Cooked Sweet and Sour Pork, the Fish Fillet and Lamb in Hot Chili Oil, and BBQ Chicken Gristle (cartilage). Food here was delivered in big portions. The deep fried pork was glistening with a sweet glaze and were really delicious. It was crunchy, sweet, and savoury. The hot pot had generous amounts of lamb and fish. I liked how tender the meat was and the spiciness of the soup broth. The chicken gristle was served on a skewer and dusted with cumin and other spices. They were super addicting to eat.
Authentic Chinese Restaurant with a HUGE menu. The menu is so comprehensive it is truly surprising that they are able to do this. The restaurant is another welcoming addition to the competitive food scene in Kingston downtown area. Unlike some other restaurants, this restaurant has no hidden "Chinese only" menu. You get the same menu as what Mandarin speaking Chinese people get, which is indicative of the confidence in their dishes. Even though the name of the restaurant is Northern Chinese Barbecue, the reality is their menu includes iconic dishes from all over China and include many items that are not barbecue related. For Chinese food aficionados, checking out their menu, which is on their website is a must before going to the restaurant, because you may spend quite awhile studying the entire menu (all 15 pages of it not including drinks). For those of you who like to have a beer or wine with your Chinese food, for now, you are out of luck. Choose from many fulfilling and inexpensive dishes as well as fancy and exotic dishes. Your bill may be as low as single digit or as high as three digits depending on what you order. Service is decent, mostly college/university students, typical of other Chinese restaurants in the area, there are no cheeky uniforms, but having something classy could improve the sense of identity of the restaurant. It is obvious the restaurant is still relatively new as the interior decor is somewhat lacking and the overall atmosphere has room to improve still. What matters most to this reviewer is , first and foremost, the taste of the dishes. While I haven't sampled every single item on their vast menu, I can attest to the fact that the few items I did try, tasted authentic and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended whether for a quick bite during lunch or a family feast (reservation highly recommended).
Never come back
Dirty and unprofessional
When you order you need to write down your item numbers. I ordered V16 and wrote V16 clearly on the order paper but received V14. When I asked to see my order paper because I knew I wrote V16, I saw that they tampered with my order paper to make it look like a 14 rather than 16. Instead of taking the wrong dish back and giving me the correct one, they said I wrote it incorrectly despite tampering with it. Will not be going back.
Many authentic Hong Kong style dishes! Dine in is somewhat dated and HK cafe like. Food
My friend had a cigarette in her calamari. I will never eat there.
I really like the BBQ,especially the lamb skewers and BBQ green beans. I also recommend the crispy pork spareribs with spicy salt. Good environment, nice service.
This restaurant is located on 185 Princess St in Kingston, ON. It offers a variety of traditional Chinese cuisine with a comprehensive menu, and specializes on Northern Chinese and Szechuan dishes. So some dishes may be spicy. The dishes have decent portions and price ranges are $$ to $$$. Its signature dishes are Peking Duck, Crispy Duck, Hot and Spicy Crayfish, Sautéed Lobster with Chili Pepper, Sautéed Lobster with Ginger and Onions, and Crispy Fried Lobster. It opens daily from 11 am to 9 or 10 pm.
Springroles were under cooked and almost cold, general tao chicken was half chilies but tastey, Cantonese chowemain was so so, the couple of small shrimp that where in it were basically raw. Stingy on the beef pork and chicken and vegetables. Sorry to say, wont go back.
I passed by Kingston and found a Chinese restaurant. The sign at the door was blurred. There were no customers at the table when I walked in. It was very deserted. The food was average. It only had roasted leeks for the whole meal. It was good. Nothing else was worth it.
I think the people who are giving this negative reviews never had authentic Chinese food (not northern but whatever) and cannot appreciate it. Kingston is rife with lots of people who go only for unotuchable favourites and spots, the competition I found to be absolutely inedible and watery in comparison unlike what the reviews for the competition seem to indicate. I could complain about some things, but the food more than makes up for it. It is one of the best chinese food spots.
Was really desapoited they did not want to do take out 5 min before closing
The food was really good with great customer service. The workers there were extremely nice and understanding which brought up the nice atmosphere. The price is reasonable and worth it since the serving sizes made up for it! I tried the new Xiao Long Bao dish and it was pretty delicious and juicy! The crab meat was especially tasty. I recommend coming here if you want an authentic chinese food experience.
simple and delicious, will come back
Best northern Chinese food I had in the last decade.
Autentique Chinese food! Love it!
Opened almost always every day, even snow storms. Lots of foods are spicy. Seasonal special menu posted on windows are Chinese only.
Excellent food, a diamond in the rough.
Order different things, but when opened at home, two of the dishes were the same. The order taker did not speak English, and I guess she did not understand anything . Food was substandard. Food
Food was meh, and the service was below average too
First time, thought I was in for a treat, turned out to be a trick! I never heard of Kung Pao Chicken without the dried red chili peppers, however thats what I got. Picture on the menu sure looks like it has chilis, maybe because it was the lunch special version, who knows. Way too salty as well. I may be a white boy, but I do know authentic Chinese from past relationships, one of which family owned the best in downtown Windsor, this place does not even come close. Needed some greens, so had an order of Baby Bok Choy too, just average.
General tso chicken is SOOOO tasty. Very flavourful and surprisingly zesty. Tastiest I ve ever tried. Other items such as the fried noodle or rice are also good, but nothing special, they are tasty! Price is reasonable
its a good taste of home
Bad food
Dont waste your money. The food is bland, assuming you even get what you order. We asked for sauteed mixed vegetables and got mapo tofu with shredded pork! Not even close and we dont eat meat so this was very disappointing. Their fried rice ended up being plain white with no seasoning with what appeared to be frozen mixed veggies. Ill eat my receipt if this rice went anywhere near a wok. Will never order from them again.
Really northern Chinese style. Came twice at the weekend
Quality food and lots of quantity . I will go again for sure .
Best Chinese food in town. Totally recommend the sizzling beef with black pepper sauce with white rice.
It used to be my favorite restaurant in town but last time i visited there the waitress kicked me out 20 minutes before it closes. When i was walking into the restaurant at 8:25pm the first thing that lady told me was i have to finish eating before 9:15(they suppose to close at 9:30) and at 9:06 she already started to ask me leave. Absolutely ridiculous. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER return. Foods are great the only problem is that waitress
foods are OK but the service really let me down The food was okay except for the fat sausage, which I couldnt chew. The service was very poor. The waiter rushed us to leave early, but the business hours clearly stated that it closed at 9:30. I have told all my friends that I will never come again
Friends Proposal was successful , thank you so so so much, Northern Chinese Barbecue restaurant. This BBQ bouquet is the key. Beautiful design, wonderful flavors.
Great restaurant amazing fresh food! Excellent service and price
Very great and authentic restaurant. There is a large selection of cuisines. Would recommend the skewers and Mapo tofu! I love the fact that the restaurant kept the way the food is suppose to be made adding a good amount of chili peppers.
Their fried rice M5 is one of the best in the city! Also the pork with chilli peppers is just too good! and very generous portions.
Ordered twice so far, dumplings are delicious and the udon meals the best Ive had! Definitely recommend! Will be my got to
The environment and facilities are a bit old, the service is okay, and the dishes are decent, suitable for the northern Chinese stomach
Delicious, freshly prepared and served hot. Uncomplicated dining experience. .
Super authentic Chinese food, very generous portions, especially love the lamb skewers!
One of the few authentic Chinese restaurants in the area. This one serves Northern Chinese style food. The family style food tasted great: lamb skewers (excellent charcoal flavour), fish fillet with pickled chili and pickled cabbage, and green beans with minced pork. Service and atmosphere is no frills with an open kitchen. One negative is the price - higher than average for this type of restaurant.
Best chinese food in town, dont be fooled by the restaurants appearance. Fried rice wasnt greasy at all, general tso chicken was juicy and crispy Food : 5/5 Recommended dishes
Food but does not taste and look fresh. Unfriendly service. Place does not look clean. I wonder how clean is the kitchen. Food : 3/5 |
Authentic, tasty, generous portions.
The food was really good- probably the best Chinese food I ve had in the Kingston area. It s pricey but worth it as it tasted great and was nice and fresh
Thought we would try this place as it got decent reviews. We were very disappointed. The fried rice was like steamed rice with only chicken and egg. All the veggies were overcooked. The General Tso s had a funny taste and no heat whatsoever. The spring rolls were decent and the chicken balls were okay. Very expensive for the quality. Do not recommend this place.
Often order the Chicken Fried rice here. Nice local Chinese spot!
It s okay. Kung Pao Chicken is very authentic.
Very disappointed with this place. The reviews looked really good as we wanted to try them out since we were passing through the city. We were still an 1hr10 earlier before they close at 9:30pm. asked to dine in as we saw one lady starting to clean up a table. She said no. We were a bit confused as restaurants don t close for a over a whole hour. Another lady came to us at the door and said she had to her boss. And her boss also said no. Which was very rude to just deny customers way before closing. Ive never been to a restaurant that denied any customer to dine in. I also work at a restaurant and close at 10:30pm with last call being at 10:15pm and we would always take new clients. She recommended us to do take out so we placed the order and said we would wait in the car. Calls us after 5mins of waiting and says « we don t have any of the three dishes that we ordered » so we cancelled the order very disappointed and went to Keg. Which was more worth it!
Waited a century for server to just offer the menu. Beef chow fun all broken a part with excessive dark soy sauce. PLEASE DO NOT order the lamb skewers they are just cheap pork dipped in lamp oil yet still labeled so pricy. Other skewers only have flavor on the surf and stiff inside. Guys to be honest, if you are hungry, come out early and buy McDonalds or other place. They fill you well and the food quality at least is there. But for experiencing chinese taste, this place is not even worth to try.
I cannot stress this enough: LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS!!! As reviewers often say, if I could give this a zero, I would . On the off chance of some of those reviews being a fluke, and since I decided to do takeout, I said why not only to find myself angry with that decision. We ordered chicken fried rice and fried noodle with shrimp, pork, and vegetables and wow . that sounded good at the time, but now I just feel sick. Literally. The rice wasn t awful just something I could very well make at home. The flavours were non-existent and it lacked authenticity. Having higher hopes for the noodles with more colour, we tried it and were more frustrated. The noodles were oily with NO flavour at all, not just lacking. My family visits Kingston often and I live here, and can confidently say that we all will not be returning.
The server was not really interested in us. The food was ok but the kung po chicken was really heavy with inedible dried red chilli in large cunks as you can see in the image. This after I had eaten every scrap of chicken. Dont bother
Kind staff, fast service and authentic chinese made perfectly
Not my best experience of Chinese cuisine. Portions are big but too expensive for the way they taste. The staff was very friendly, which was the most positive about this place.
Perfect food, reasonable price, I like it and strongly recommend this restaurant.
A very authentic Chinese restaurant. The price is on the expensive side. I ordered one portion of fried rice and one portion of Ushikawa. The fried rice can be rated 9 points, but Ushikawa decided to give it 7 points because the store consciously did not add the word dry fried rice. So overall Im very satisfied.
The service is so bad, no service at all. The front desk acted like he owed her money. Wont come again
I would not say their barbecue tastes good but the rest of the dishes are well done! HUGE portion and taste authentic. Kind of pricey and sometimes minor hygiene issue.
This place is amazing y all. It feels very special to have delicious Chinese food like this here in Kingston. I lived in Beijing until I was 17, and whenever I miss hanging on the side of the road with my friends and eating some yang rou chuar (lamb skewers), I go to Northern Chinese BBQ for a taste of my childhood. I live away from Kingston now, and whenever I m in town visiting family, this place is my first stop! After seeing my family, of course!
Great little spot, good food, something for everyone.
Authentic Chinese experience, from the taste of the food to the questionable hygiene. In general, the food here is good but overpriced. The best thing on the menu is the Grand Marnier shrimp.
The rice is delicious and quite in line with the taste. To be honest, I quite like it. But the utensils need to be wiped down. Some of the dishes are dirty. The service attitude is also terrible, but the food is delicious. I should only order takeout from now on.
Our experience was mediocre. We ordered the sizzling udon with shrimp in black pepper sauce, the sizzling udon with beef in black pepper sauce, and spring rolls. The food was rather bland, I can t say the quality justified the price, but the portions were fair.
Had diarrhea after eating
Food was pretty good, some things better than others. I enjoyed the BBQ items, especially the enoki. Price was a little on the high side.
The best fresh food
Friendly staff and waitress. Had pork dumplings and friend had some spring rolls. Fast and delicious lunch at good prices
Clean, friendly staff and delicious food! We ordered the family meal for 3. We got lots of food starter was spring rolls then we got sauté veggies chicken rice, beef with beans, and sweet and sour chicken. Everything was good we could not fi wish the food and we will for sure go back there. If you pas by Kingston and want good Asian food pay them a visit.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Kingston!
To be honest, the lamb is very tasty but the portion size is very disappointing. This was $17.50 after tax. If it wasnt so overpriced, I would have given this a 5/5.
Very tasty food, fast turnaround!!!
Worst service I have ever gotten at any restaurant ever.
I ordered a noodle dish and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size and quality. The flavour was delicious and not overly salty or greasy like some Chinese restaurants can be. It reminded me of something my mom might make (which is a huge compliment!). There was a huge amount of chicken that was so tender. I could tell it was great quality. Worth the price, especially considering I had lots leftover for another meal!
Fake promotion. I ordered the sea bass on green spot and actually said it was the same fish. The landlady yells at the customers.
Delicious Chinese food. Authentic. Good size.
Ordered based on reviews on google. Extremely disappointed with the food. With the exception of the chicken bbq sticks everything else went to garbage. N i bought food for a family of 5.
Pretty good Asian food!
Very good food, I ordered through skip the dishes and accidentally selected pickup instead of delivery. I called them and they actually sent a delivery man to give us our food! This is the most easily deserving 5 star review Ive ever given. I highly recommend the potstickers.
Good size for the dishes but not for the BBQs. All in all, great Chinese restaurant in Kingston!
The place is sweet and the ambiance is great. Restaurant has open neat kitchen as the culture follows from East Asia. I could use a little more condiments.
Great place! Lots of meat and rice to try. Both takeout and delivery are fast here and provide a good quality of service.
Suitable for northern Chinese tastes
Amazing meal! I have been looking for authentic chinese and this, for me, comes very close. Amazing flavours, fresh and very tasty. My new chinese favorite restaurant!!
Decent prices, large portions, good food. We had the pork pan friend dumplings, the beef with flat noodles and the BBQ lamb skewer. My favorite was the noodles. Everyone was very nice. The menu had a large selection. Not my number one choice for Chinese food, but if you want specifically northern BBQ - the food was good.
best lunch we had.. cheap and best..
I liked most of their items ... Very tasty and reasonable, they also provide good portion of food ... Service is also good ...
There is quite a large selection. Doesnt look like much from the inside or outside but the food is served piping hot and is not bad. However, they are serving a step above north american Chinese food. Meaning, this isnt the place for you if you want egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken balls and chicken fried rice. We ended up with a large Chinese stew. It had meat, eggplant, cabbage and mushrooms in it. It wasnt bad, but, again, it wasnt quite what we were expecting. The cliental were mostly Asians (as I also am) - which can be a good indicator that the food is authentic. But for the inexperienced diner, this might not be the first stop you want to make if youre looking for your standard Chinese food.
DUMP ! ILOVE IT !
Sichuan flavor. It tastes good. The noodles are also delicious
Decided to try this new place. I ordered a bowl of soup and an order of beef. The bowl of (seafood) soup was hearty enough for a meal of its own. It was delicious, as was the beef dish. I had enough leftover soup for another meal at home. Menu prices for most items seems high on first glance but the portion size and quality explain it. All the patrons (other than me) were Chinese. My Chinese acquaintance said this place has the most authentic Chinese food in Kingston.
Delicious! Tons of selection, I recommend: 704, 708, 711, 713, 765, 629, 649 and 724! Get a bunch of items and share with a group!
Chilli hot pot 10/10
Couple of years ago I visited Kingston and had a meal at the Northern BBQ. The person who recommended it warned me to expect a dirty restaurant, long wait time and rude staff, but said that the food was worth it. Well, they werent wrong. The place was dirty, the dishes showed up 20 minutes apart with the desert dish dropped off right in the middle of the meal and the waiter was rude and inattentive, just as I was told he would be. The food though was absolutely fabulous. Every single dish was a discovery of flavors. Every single one delicious. Even the pork intestine dish, which I ordered to gross my wife out proved to be superb. The meal was so good, that we vowed to return as soon as possible. Yesterday I finally had a chance to pass through Kingston and took out $100 worth of food from Northern BBQ. I should have listened to my spider sense when the person taking the order assured me that everything is just as it used to be, and that all the food is the same as it was, and that the cooking crew is the same, and he said it four separate times. Im writing this because this morning I threw out most of the food I picked up there, uneaten. None of the dishes were tasty, one was outright missing, even though I was charged for it, and the pork intestine dish I found so good before, was not edible. About the only thing that was eaten was the soup, which was reasonable and the dumplings despite the fact that they were only slightly singed on one side (they charge $1.50 extra to have them fried). Im truly sorry to report that the food now matches the ambiance and service. I do not recommend.
Very friendly staff and the food is pretty good. If you want authentic Chinese food in Kingston, this is a place to go.
Not bad, the mapo tofu is a bit bitter, the chopped pepper grouper is delicious
Best food hi ever eat in restau...
The food always smells so delicious so we had to check them out! We loved everything we tried on the menu, especially the grilled eggplant. The tea was a bit over-priced considering it was just jasmine, but overall the price was well worth it.
We have ordered from here a few times recently and are very satisfied. Excellent quality dishes, fast delivery, and big portions. I am very happy to have found this place! Great work guys.
Pretty good food.
Very delicious! And size is huge!!
Super friendly and helpful staff! Food was really good. Portions were generous, although we did still find some of the prices a little high. Overall, would definitely recommend.
Had the Dinner for Two, sensational.
Stopped by this on our way to Ottawa. Pretty decent authentic food.
Very good food! Large menu or varied dishes. On the pricey side. Windows could use a wipe. But, if youre more about the food than the aesthetics its worth it.
Delicious, very authentic compared to other restaurants, no sour and sweet fried chicken balls, recommended!
Normally I am not picky about Chinese food but for some spicy dishes they put too much ingredients which makes the flavour too strong as for me. This time I tried to ask them to put less seasoning in my dishes, then I enjoyed a wonderful lunch. In the fried egg with tomato , only oil, salt, green onion inside. In the fried pork with pepper( ), I asked for light flavour. This lunch tasted like I cook for myself at home.
The service was very poor and the boss was very aggressive. I waited for an hour and no food was served.
Th food here is authentic if you want to try traditional Chinese cuisines
The wait for food really opened up meta experiences ! Good water and melon candy was all inclusive how crazy. (-1 for the bathroom stalls)
The purposefully long wait times afford every customer the chance to take in an authentic Chinese barbecue experience like no other, complete with scary fire bowls, melon candy and small children roaming the premises. The food was excellent (would highly recommend the pork intestines especially if it s your first time having Chinese food), the conversation was even better and the bathrooms are something truly amazing to behold (bathrooms are only for customers). Northern Chinese Barbecue for life!
Horrible service! Very rude when order came to table wrong. Waited 40 minute for two dishes. Had to get our own menu off another table as waitress did not bring one. Will not go again
The atmosphere inside was kind of dirty, but I was so excited to try this new place and ordered a dish. It didnt say in the menu, but it had peanuts in it. I couldnt eat it due to allergies.
The dumplings are really good! Love how traditionally they are in both decoration and food taste. The fried rice is awesome!
Pork feet, thats good meat. Its like eating the fat only #keto
Great service and food! Highly recommend the BBQ lamb skewers!
Food was aestheticly pleasing, and tasted very good. But the restaurant was not very clean.
Horrible service!!!Very rude!!! You need to wait more than 1 hour for the food. Be careful with your bill, they will charge more.
Tasty chinese food
I love this place. The food is amazing. There are so much variability. Fast service.
Food arrived quickly, and was super delicious!
Tried this place, after a recommendation from Reddit and was not disappointed. We had lunch on a Friday and were tempted by a lot of things from the menu. But we decided on the Hot and Sour Soup, the Lamb with Cumin, the Spicy Cabbage, the Sausage skewers and the Chicken Wings skewers. Everything was delicious. Im already thinking of going back and trying other things.
Authentic Chinese food, the sweet and sour fried pork is amazing!!
If you like authentic Northern Chinese/Szechuan, then this place is for you. Been here twice so far and have yet to order something I did not like. Everything is very flavorful and well prepared. This place is the most authentic I have found in Kingston so far. The ambiance is basic, but that is not important as the food is what really shines here. Definitely recommend.
Id say this is the best Chinese food you can get without actually going to China or Markham (aka China). Dont let the crappy store front fools you, the food is amazing. Yes it is pricy but its kingston, where the cost for the Chinese food ingredients are way more expensive. They can use a couple more servers though, the wait time to order is pretty long.
Very genuine Chinese food. It is made fast and tastes great!
If you enjoy authentic food in a family restaurant setting the food is great here. Not licensed yet.
Tried their $8.99 lunch special today. The portion is very generous.
Not the best Chinese food Ive had ever, but definitely the best Chinese food in Kingston by far. Very far. The lamb skewers were delicious and the spare ribs were pretty good. The service is not the speediest but they were friendly and theyre probably working on it. Its priced just fine for Kingston... theres really not that many Asian groceries here so I cant see them being as cheap as in Toronto. I would definitely go back.
Best Chinese food in Kingston. Love the cumin lamb, spicy eggplant and green beans. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu. The lunch specials ar a real deal!
Came here 3 times. When the store first opened, the wait times were a little lengthy (food prep; not service), but they got better with time. You can tell this is a place that strives for authenticity, with thoughtfully executed home-style dishes. The food is good, the lunch special is very well-priced for the quantity & quality. As far as Chinese restaurants in Kingston go, I highly recommend.
It was well executed, but the flavours werent to my taste. The Chinese members of our group loved it.
4 stars for a brave attempt at a unique Asian cuisine in a market that values generic exotic cuisine.
I went here and had the Kung Pao chicken, Cumin lamb, double cooked sweet and sour pork, and hot and sour soup. Everything was great, fresh and flavourful. Ordered take out and only waited 10 minutes for everything. The only thing that I wasnt impressed with was the hot and sour soup, Ive had better. Will be going back to try other things on their very extensive menu. Prices are higher, but they have lunch specials if you dont want to spend too much. Beware when they say the food is spicy, they mean it!
Great real chinese food at a good price. The best for a real experience of the culture.
So many dishes and what I tried was delicous. Would eat again.
Man, Ive missed having authentic Chinese food since coming to Kingston. A little pricy but SOOO worth it for a little taste of home.
So so not the greatest but one of the best in Kingston.
Craving for my parents chinese food is satisfied. Tastes just like home.
Waited 30 mins for our order, then asked twice until they realized they have lost our order. Left with empty stomach.
Delicious and abundant food. Fast and friendly service
tasty!
waiting for food but ready to be impressed!
insane meal
The Eggplant and green pepper was great
Portion sizes are huge. Three people can easily share a dish. The sweet and spicy pork was good. My husband and his friend shared the beef in chilly oil. They loved it but had trouble finishing it.
The best Chinese food I have had in a while, the food is well worth the price this place is a hidden gem. I love their food , it was so good we did not feel like leaving the place :). Kudos to the chef the food is just great. We had the fried rice / spicy pork / noodles / fried calamari so yummy.
very delicious
Food is always amazing, but dont expect your typical Canadian Chinese food; no chicken balls here.
Authentic chinese food, no chicken balls to be found here.
Just found out that the tips dont go to the staff!! This is another example of how NOT to run a business.. Food is top class but the owner needs to get his ethics right before he loses his staff.
Great place, i really love the buttons on the table you can use to call a waitress. The menu is really good too, and the staff are courteous!
Best chinese food in Kingston!
Best Chinese food in Kingston
It is the best ever Chineese restaurant in Kingston
The food is delicious and the service is quick. The portions are generous, and the food is super authentic as well!
A bit greasy, the a la carte tastes better than the lunch combo
Food is bad by Toronto standard. As a northerner this is not authentic northern cooking. was not sour, and tastes like water with a bit of pork belly as a after thought. To be fair we went when they just opened, so might have had some operational issues still to be ironed out. The second time we went we ordered , which to my astonishment, used prepackaged sauce as it tasted overwhelmingly of msg. Too expensive for what it is. Hope they will get better.
I honestly wish there is a less than 1 star rating. The restaurant has an extremely slow service, though it can hardly to be called service. It is so slow that leaves changed color on the tree beside the princess street. It forced me to order the food by myself, and talk to the barbecue chef what I want. Strongly recommend ninja fans to visit because you can easily grant invisibility when you try to call a waiter. The smoky air remind me an old video game, that death fog kills the character who go into it immediately. Similarly, you can try to breathe beside the open kitchen for courage, and get your lungs fully burned. Their soy milk was another miserable memory for me. If you would like to try a lemonade taste soy milk, you can have a try on that evil product far expired from the shelf life at here. (degenerated soy product threaten the life). I had a sore stomachache after drinking the poisoned drink. I would suggest everyone to protect themselves by simply avoid this place. ------- I had never reposted a rating before, until I saw Amanda xs rating. I m not sure whether your were hired for the five stars rating, but I am pretty sure that you had never taste that nightmare before, otherwise you will not explain about what is soy juice. It is two different things. Soy milk is soy milk, we call it soy milk and it is always called soy milk---the white soy milk, sweet taste in normal, sour and smelly taste in here. Like other says, this place definitely needs to be inspected by health departments.
Too much oil for the hot pots. The fire underneath even burnt me and my friend. Didnt inform when we ordered same flavour dish---idk why two dishes tastes exactly the same. Not that bad but no outstanding. Wont return.
Very delicious
Dont believe the haters!!! This place is freakin awesome. The folks who work here have never been anything but courteous and fun to chat with. The food is NOT overpriced. The flavours and breadth of dishes alone are head and shoulders above comparable places in town, making the slightly (and I mean slightly!) higher prices more than worth it. Im quickly becoming a regular here. My advice: Bring a bunch of friends, order a load of dishes, enjoy them together until your bellies feel like theyre going to burst, and take the leftovers home. You will not regret it!
Not outstanding, and dishes are greasy. Not recommend The taste is very average and very greasy. Authentic Chinese food will not be so greasy. There is a gap between it and imagination, so I don t recommend it. Two points to the boss for his brave attempt.
