Refused to make my food without vegetables lol are you serious! Cancelled order.. never going here again!

Food is great but they charged me $1.50 for three extra packets (like the ketchup ones) of plum sauce (because I don t like sweet and sour sauce) on a $40 lunch order.

well some one said the orange crispy chicken was hardly no chicken !It was true mostly all batter so i gave a 4 star as every thing was good chicken fried rice mix veggies but the orange ,chicken was no chicken only crisp batter and the food is pricey

I bought a Tao chicken with fried rice and they gave me small position it was not even enough for a single bite, had no chicken in it .don t ever buy from here .

Dropping my rating even lower. Orange chicken is $18 unless it is buy one get one free, then suddenly it is $30. Shady. Soo guy was simultaneously overcooked and undercooked - either hardened grease or uncooked dough. Chicken balls mostly undercooked dough and very little chicken. Not as bad as East Side Village (which is inedible), but a close second. Wont be back.

Decided to give it a try from this restaurant and OML this has to be the worst Chinese food ever. Ordered orange chicken from Ubereats and 80% was all batter. Do not get tricked because of BOGO deals.

Very simple restaurant. The owners are very wonderful people and the food is amazing!!. The price is really affordable for the quality and quantity. One dish can easily feed two people.

There is only three wontons in the wontons soup and it is full of Chinese cabbage.

Chicken fried rice is pretty much just overpriced riced with less chicken then you will find on a wing. Good thing kingston is full of other options.

Picked up for take out. Somewhat expensive for the portion size. Food tasted good except dry garlic ribs were tough. Very little beef in the beef lo mein. I might be hesitant to order again.

I like it there: there are a few vegan options to choose from, and the restaurant is owned and operated by a nice family. A big bonus is they are open late every day too :) Good spot to warm up to a pot of green tea and homemade spring rolls. Vegetarian options: They have quite a few choices, that are delicious and made with care.

Shanghai noodle shouldnt be fried spaghetti with 3 pieces of beef

We ordered last minute New Years Eve and the lady was very nice and accommodating. We then asked for spicy noodles and they more than delivered, some of the best spicy beef lo mein weve ever had.

I would have given more stars considering friendly and attentive staff. I ordered vegetable stir fry noodles and there was a hair in my food also, which made me sick But other than that first a few bites of food was good

Good food, and being we ordered on New Years Eve, service was very good! Will definitely order again. But call the restaurant directly, dont use an app, which we learned that night!

Food is amazing. Delivery is always hot and they prep their food and containers in a way so fried food is always nice and crispy.

Prior to Covid this used to be my favourite for Cantonese Chow Mien and Chicken Wings. The Chow Mien yesterday had fewer shrimp, chicken, and vegetables in a smaller container and some of the noodles were burnt black, the wings were big but covered with a heavy breading and had a greasy smell. It was a $37.00 disappointment,

i used to ONLY order from this place. i dont know what happened. ordered a meal tonight that arrived as a container of burnt greasy noodles with 2 pieces of broccoli. Thats it. $16. and i went without supper tonight. They did not offer help and refused a refund.

Relaxed clean atmosphere. Great food and lots of it. Be prepared for taking some home. Professional and courteous service. Quite friendly. Surprised to hear they were new owners and just starting out, everything was amazing! Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often We should have taken pictures.

Horrible! Chicken fried rice came with zero chicken and chicken chow menu with zero chicken in it. $15 each and no chicken!! It s no mistake, it s a business practise. Never ordering from here again.

Looking for a place for supper. Stopped in to check it out.. owners are really nice people and are trying to make their business succeed. Threw me off a little when we were told we had to prepay for our meal. But whatever, it seems to be the way the world is going. Food was good, average Chinese food. Prices were also average not crazy expensive. All in all i hope these folks succeed in their adventure of running this establishment.

The place was empty & the rice tasted burnt. The rest wasnt good. Makes one wonder how they keep the doors open. It was well decked out and clean. Too bad.

One of the best Chinese restaurants Ive ever eaten at. The food was fresh and flavourful. The service was friendly. We had the Black Pepper Beef, which was ao tasty, and the Szechuan Chicken, which must have been cooled to order, because the breading was crispy enough that it had to have just come out if the fryer. And the Hot and Sour was rich and chunky and full of flavour. Seriously great.

Old school americanized chinese food spot. Lemon chicken combo was great and you can t beat the price.

The worst RESTURAUNT I have ever eaten at! This place had the lights off when I arrived because no customers were there. The food is expensive and it was TERRIBLE. It s all microwaved and horrible. Beef was chewy and horrendous, and the chicken had that tough signature texture that it was microwaved. They asked us to pay before we eat and now I understand why! If I was served before I payed and had a bite of this food, I would ve walked out I ve never had anything horrible. I love cheap Chinese food, this wasn t it and I would never recommend it.

Have ordered hefun and it wad hot and delicious coming out. We ordered black bean beef with mixed vegetables and it was delicious too, not too salty. We are so glad to have good Chinese in this area.

Prices are fair food was not to generous with vegetables or meat probably due to food cost and price of groceries in today market they ask for payment before serving and probably for a reason although I do promote local business like this has been striving and needs more business to survive I dont want to see the yellow river close so please dine and wine and have a great time in Kingstown!

Didn t dine in but would be a nice spot bf Friday we would have had the place to our selves very kind and patient staff I forgot my card and had to return to pay for my pick up thank you again was exactly what we were craving!

Weve been searching town for YEARS for a replacement after losing our long time fav restaurant, East Side Village. Saw a friend post Sunday how good Yellow River was and decided to try for ourselves, that night. Safe to say YR is our new Chinese take out go-to, cant believe it took us so long to try it! Food was delicious, portions were generous, discount given at pickup for cash payment and conveniently used the RBC parking lot across the street (after hours). Inside of the restaurant was pristinely clean, albeit completely empty, and after noticing two buffet tables pushed to the side it made me wonder if I could book the whole dining room for a private event. Who knows, but hopefully with more support YR will get some seats filled in the coming months

Not the best restaurant in the town for chinese food. Potion is not worth the price.

This is the best meal Ive had in a long time sesame chicken was really perfect still crispy after being in sauce and wonton soup was actually so surprising, absolutely amazing

They have really improved their delivery containers. They used to leak on the bottom. The veggie low mein, tofu and veg was unbelievable. Couldnt get enough. Definitely my go to spot when in town. Skip the fried rice, that is bland and flavourless. No egg anywhere to be found depite containing egg.

Ordered the general Tao and very disappointed. As another reviewer stated, General Tao chicken seemed like soggy microwaved chicken nuggets ; unfortunately I have to agree. Also ordered a combo but didn t get the chicken balls or spring roll, just a container of rice. I think it s karma for straying from Silver Wok!

Tried Yellow River for the first time tonight. Ordered the general Tao chicken with fried rice, and another order of sweet and sour chicken balls with rice. Very delicious. Definitely trying again! Well done.

Ordered spring rolls and Cantone Chow Mein . Worst Ive ever had. 35 bucks wasted. Cantonese Chow Mein is 97 % noodles. Spring rolls were very great and way over cooked. Never again. This was my 1st time and absolutely my last. Jade Garden is still number 1

They did not deliver what was promised !!! The pork and chives dumpling soup did not contain any pork nor have the taste of pork. The dumplings were just filled with grass(chives)!!! The broth was watery and not tasty. The best thing I received was a packet of soy sauce with helped with the tasteless liquid.

This was my go to Chinese restaurant even waited while they were closed but now. There must be a new cook because the rice was stale and burnt and I ate 2 chicken balls with no chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was runny and very different

Authentic Cantonese food, toddler and baby friendly place to dine in. The cook was very flexible in modifying the dishes to suits our preferences. Definitely will go back again.

Beef broccoli was 90% broccoli. The beef itself was cut paper thin so there was even less. I like broccoli but this just feels like a ripoff. Seems like the restaurant isnt doing too well so maybe a cost saving measure but this isnt the way to survive if no one will ever come back.

I ordered from here and all the breaded chicken products we received chicken balls and general tao chicken had the smallest amount of meat in them 10% meat 90% breading as well as the sauces all felt and tasted watered down I do not recommend this place you pay more for less quality

Spent 80+ bucks for the good for 4 people and was very disappointed of the portions of the meat. I love breaded chicken and this is going to be the first time im complaining about breaded chicken beeing too bready, the breaded chicken was literally 80% bread and 20% chicken. The rice was not cook as the usual flavourful chinese chicken fried rice, It was just rice with soy sauce and some frozen vegetable mix to it and the portion looks like it s only good for 2 people (i don t remember having chicken in them). The chicken chow mein and szechuan beef is full of vegetables and barely meat in it too, might as well go to dim sum at least they have more rice and it s more authentic rice. I was just force to order from here bc dim sum was close and I thought It would be nice to try other place for a change but it just led me to disappointment. Definitely not worth the price and the try. If I m going to spent 80 dollars on my food i want them meaty. PS not gonna order from here again, I m crossing this to my where to eat list.

Excellent Wonton soup. Fast takeout service. Unfortunately with the change of owners this restaurant has gone downhill in a major way. No more water chestnuts in their wonton soup even though they told me it was the exact same recipe. Very sad and will not go there for takeout.

Crispy noodles were burnt black through. The cook tried to say they were supposed to be that way, which was not true. And there was a long human hair in my meal. We did not see in the kitchen but the washrooms were very clean. The dining room gave a very 1970s retro vibe. Our server was excellent. Attentive and prompt and courteous. The food was tasty, reasonable portions, and good value. May be more popular for takeout. Dine in was not busy at dinner time on a Saturday.

Amazing cuisine! I had the mushroom su guy, curry chicken fried rice, all sauces were on the side, both exceeded my expectations and all was very good fresh served. Large sized portions, price was fair. Husband had the lemon chicken, that too he said was excellent . Spring rolls very light flaky wrap, amazing flavor, with in restaurant made plum sauce. Waiter was very attentive, our coffee cups was never empty, very friendly, and did not rush us providing excellent service. Atmosphere very cozy, quiet, tastefully decorated, very handy turn table on our table which made it great to swap our meals with our friends who went with us celebrating our anniversary. They had chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli loaded with beef and the broccoli was definitely fresh bright green very appetising both visually and in flavor. Premade reservation, table was set up ready to dine upon arrival. Restaurant overall is very clean, and bathroom as well. Definitely will go back and highly recommend restaurant! Wheel chair accessible too.

Rice and chop suey was beyond bland. The meat inside both the spring and egg roll was akin to a formed sausage. The shrimp was the killer. Came looking large and sumptuous but upon further inspection, I was almost embarrassed for you!

The mushroom beef I ordered from Uber Eats only gave me 6 pieces of beef. The fried squid and shrimp only included 2 squid and 2 shrimp. It cost over 70 dollars. Why don t you just grab the money? And it s not delicious! I ordered mushroom beef (only have 6 small pieces of beef) and fired tofu with shrimp squid and scallop (only have 2 of shrimp and squid in it) which cost me 70 dollar. Its not tasty but pitful that it dont worth 70 dollar.

Prices they charge you are more than what the menu says and they don t even tell you, hoping you won t notice. Do not ever go here. They will scam you right under your nose

I purchased the Chilli chicken and veggie low mein. The chilli chicken barely has and spice and is overly breaded and the low mein ( which is actually chow mein ) was watery and bland. It would have been okay if the food was cheaper but this is way over priced for the quality and quantity

Ordered food at 9:51 they did not make my food and cancelled it two minutes before closing at 11. Ridiculous. Useless. Uber driver drove 10 minutes and waited 15 for the food. How is this incompetence allowed.

I maybe caught them on a bad night, but the General Tao chicken seemed like soggy microwaved chicken nuggets drowned in general tao sauce - and the chicken fried rice seemed like left over rice and chicken, no egg, and the rice was unfried, so it was just rice and sketchy chicken. Maybe it was an off day, but I dont know man. I was sad.

Last night was my first time ordering and would definitely recommend to my friends and family! I ordered egg rolls which were crispy, the best wonton soup in town, spicy and sweet szechuan chicken was very nice and the spice was just right. I will absolutely come back for the great food and service!

Worst service ever!! Drove 20min into town and picked up food that cost 81 dollars and gave a 10$ tip. Got all the way back home and they forgot a bag with of course all the sauces and condiments so our meal was worthless and when I called them they basically thought I was mistaken. After spending 5min on the phone they agreed to deliver the rest of my order that showed up a 45min later and all my food was cold. Nice job..

I live right beside this business and I love going there because the young man who works the counter and always serves me my food is so nice! Hes so pleasant and always remembers me I just love that kind of friendly service. Good job

Ordered delivery today from here for the first time. The meal arrived still piping hot and was the best Chinese food Ive had in Kingston. Also, very generous portions compared to other places Ive ordered from. We had Yellow river chicken, general tso chicken, flat noodles with beef with black bean sauce, eggrolls, spring rolls, and wonton soup. Both chicken dishes were great compared to other Kingston Chinese joints. The flat noodles with beef and black bean sauce was exceptional. The wonton soup was original and the best in Kingston. I will continue trying other Kingston Chinese joints, but this has been the best so far and will be my go to place if I dont want to roll the dice and just get good food.

Ordered for delivery a little late but I assumed so giving the time I ordered and I live in the west end when I got the food the driver was pleasant and once i dug into the food i couldnt stop best Chinese i have had in years Ill definitely be a return customer

I was working down the street this week and it smelled good so I thought I would give it a try. Worst experience ever. I got Combo #2 which came with chicken fried rice, general tso chicken and an egg roll. The egg roll was kind of crisp and as soon as I bit into it, a ton of hot oil came oozing out. Needless to say I didnt finish it. Then the batter on the chicken was soggy not crisp, and the quality of the chicken itself was terrible, as evident by its awful texture. The rice was dry and oily, and the pieces of chicken in it where questionable also. And isnt there supposed to be egg in fried rice? Not in this one. Only positive was that the food came out quickly, which appears to be why this place got such good ratings on Just Eat. Oh how I wish China Doll was still in town.

For a decent Chinese meal reasonably priced that isnt a buffet this is the place to go

My first time ordering delivery (via Just-Eat.ca) from Yellow River and it was quick. Like 25 mins and YES the food was fully cooked ! Fresh veggies too ! Ordered the general tso combo (medium) and it is good, Ive had better rice but its still decent for the price. The chicken balls combo was ordered as well and its flavourful. And the honey wonton deep fried stuff is so if you have a sweet tooth GET THEM !

This restaurant looks good but the service is really bad. When I asked a dish without vegetables, she said it will cost me extra. I never had this experience before. So me and my friends rate this place low. The place was empty all the time.

We had 2 combo plates (chicken balls and beef with veggies) wonton soup and beef with flat noodles. The egg rolls were amazing!! And the chicken balls were SO flavorful!! The beef with flat noodles were probably some of the best Ive had! The wonton soup was so so good and fresh! The only disappointment was the fried rice, everything else was so fresh and flavourful and the rice tasted like it was from a frozen Chinese dinner.

Tongmian recommends the fried noodles here, order the dry ones, such as the Sanxian fried noodles, they are really delicious! ! ! Because the dim sum is outsourced, it is not as good as the dishes. But the fresh bamboo rolls and glutinous rice chicken are also delicious and cheaper than dimsum. Highly recommended.

Good freshly cooked food. We ate the buffet and small quantities on the buffet were constantly replenished from the kitchen rather than one huge pan being allowed to sit. Very decent price. Best Chinese food Ive found so far in Kingston.
