Under new ownership and they sure are not starting this well. The food was not very good, it wasn’t hot despite my having to wait 10 minutes for them to cook things. It was reheated food. So very disappointing. I cannot recommend any of their dishes, and the egg rolls are grim.
Food was very un-appetizing. Rice seemed old, not fresh. Gravy for soo guy was a big clump, it smelled bad, it made me want to throw up. When I called to complain, they checked the food and said it was fine. They offered us a free dish for next time. We spent over $65 and most of it was thrown out because nobody wanted to eat it. What a waste of money, will not order again.
EDIT; I would like to add that the owner was very professional, kind and it must of just been an off day! We will be ordering again in near future as every other order we have got has been very good! We order from Kais & spend alot of money there. Last night almost $100 down the drain. The chicken soo guy was so dry & basically no gravy, the general tso chicken was so over cooked & the chicken balls were like rubber.. maybe just a bad night there, but we are disappointed...

I didn't really enjoy my meal from this restaurant, it was just okay. We ordered dinner for two, which came to around $40. The chicken balls consisted of very thick and dry breading. They were difficult to swallow they were so dry. The rice was bland and dry. The eggs in it were so overcooked they weren't edible. The egg rolls were really sad too. But we did like the chow mein. Overall, we wouldn't order from here again. My recommendation is to try silver wok for the best chinese food in Kingston.
I tried the Combination B: Beef/Broccoli and Chicken Fried Rice. The taste was fine, unfortunately the portion sizes are tiny. For the same price (around $12), at Sunflower Chinese at Montreal/Princess you pretty much get double the portion size. The store is apparently takeout only, for some reason they built a wooden enclosure to prevent anyone from entering the dining area. The parking area is behind the store but the entrance to the lot is to the right of the building!
Unfortunately we found the food here to be very mediocre and generally lacking flavor. We ordered the mushroom rice, ginger chicken (with very little chicken and made with sushi ginger) and crispy noodles which were way too salty. The utilitarian decor certainly didn't enhance the experience either, so this would have to be a bit of a last resort option.
Recommended by a local resident from Hong Kong. Great restaurant for some Chinese food. The boss speaks Cantonese and she was nice. The food was pretty good at a very reasonable price (around 8 -11CAD for a dish).

Ordered 5 dishes off the menu, food was ok the 2 dishes with chicken were disappointing. The chicken was poorly butchered, pieces were drastically different in size and bits of bone and cartilage . The egg foo young was more like chop suey with a bit of egg. Been my go to spot for Chinese food but I think Ill shop around

Absolutely adore this place. The food is simply amazing, the price can t be beat and the staff are always so kind even on busy nights. Whenever anyone asks for recommendations I always tell them Kai s!
My go-to place for when Im craving Asian cuisine. The only bad experience Ive had was the restaurant is only taking takeout/delivery still, so we had to go elsewhere for dinner when I went there. Ive only had their takeout. Update: Put an order in the day before, for next day pickup. Fantastic service and the food was spot on like always. Parking: Parking is around back and can be a challenge to get to as its close quarters on that road most of the time.

Twas a couple nights past Christmas an order was placed The dishes were many but arrived with due haste The table top filled the smiles did abound When it was done only crumbs could be found The Foo Young went first the Noodles had spice The Ball and fried rice were all very nice
Wonton soup was terrible. I don t recommend at all. Shanghai noodles were ok. They come all broken up so it does not feel like you re eating noodles. Overall it was alright. Not enough to make me come back.

We ordered multiple takeout dishes for three people. The portions were generous, but we didn t like most of the food as the quality didn t meet our expectations. The only dish I liked was the beef with ginger and green onions.

They food is fresh and I can tell by look at the vegetables and I love the sauce not too salty and you can ask for more or less they make fresh each time so I recommend as Asian eating Asian food
Always find that the food is hit or miss. This time was a huge miss. Service is always very good, but we will not be trying here again unfortunately.
I tried the lemon chicken with chicken fried rice combo plate today. I liked the fried rice but the lemon chicken left a lot to be desired. The lemon sauce was pretty dark and just had a very slight acidic lemon flavour and wasnt very sweet, and the chicken pieces themselves werent great as far as size & consistency. The egg roll was also kinda half-inflated-sad-looking. Ill probably end up going back again to try something else when Im in the area and need a quick meal.
ive never seen a general taos with a red coloured sauce . I think they used the wrong sauce because it didnt taste very good

Kais has long been a family favourite! You can tell they really care about the quality of their food, the vegetables and meat are always fresh cut. They are careful to mind special instructions, which is super appreciated by my parnter who has special dietary considerations. I have never had a disappointing meal from Kais! Its my go-to comfort food, in fact! Theres always enough to feed even my biggest appetite with some left for lunch tomorrow too! Incredible local family owed restaurant. I was happy to swing by for takeout this week to find they had A FULL PARKING LOT (!) and inside they had adapted the dining room into a takeout and payment window. Everything was super organized, clean, and easy! I highly recommend the Shanghai noodles! Update: always love this place & regularly order. Had to say THEY CRUSHED IT TONIGHT. Such a delicious meal. Thank you!

Easily the best Chinese food in Kingston. Ive enjoyed everything Ive tried and Im currently working through the tofu options (favourite so far is spicy sauce with veg).

We ordered 3 times already for take out and the food was really good. I Love the fried noodles seafoods and their bbq fried Rice and the wanton noodle soup. Highly recommended. I wish they will have dine in soon.
Amazing flavour, in my top 3 for sure. I ordered Cantonese chow mein, and chicken and broccoli. Chicken and broccoli had lots of sauce (my favourite), and chow mein lots of vegetables. Both dishes were outstanding - will definitely order again. Thank you!!
Very unlucky they only take out when we visit, really fare price. The place is on a very quiet and narrow street between Kingston penitentiary and an Asylum of criminality insaned, very weird place to have a meal during tourism

Went back to kais delight after 7 years away and its still as good as I remembered. Some of my favorite comfort food Chinese in kingston or any town. The owner is always friendly and helpful and its a good price for the portion. Ill be sure to drop back in next time I pass through kingston.

Kais has always been my favorite but last night I was so very disappointed Ordered dinner for 3 at the cost of $60 with delivery..Received enough to feed 2 teenagers..And a half a bowl of plum sauce for the chicken balls which clearly was not enough to even get them wet...Im so dissatisfied..Time to find a new favorite!

We had egg rolls beef with broccoli vegetable fried rice and bbq pork with vegetable lo mein. All the veggies were fresh. The fried rice and the pork and beef dishes were very very tasty. I would recommend this place all day long !!! We are definitely going back this I think will be our go to for Chinese food !!! Don t hesitate go there for yourself. They are quick in getting it ready for you as well.

....Went today at 2; they were open....Realized wed forgotten our wallet so went home, back at 2:15... they were closed...Even though their updated times say they are still open until 9pm.

Tonight I tried this restaurant for the first time, just ordering some fried chicken wings. They were amazing with super crispy batter. Excited to try more things from their menu soon, and will definitely order their chicken wings again!!

The staff person who took our order and person who delivered the order were great, everything else was a huge disappointment. We ordered an assortment and overall, the food lacked flavour, the tofu was very soggy, the vegetables were overcooked , the shrimp was bland, the spring rolls and egg rolls were also lacking in flavour. The reviews were good and the menu was promising. We were so looking forward to a great meal, instead we have leftovers that may or may not be able to be turned into something worth eating.

This place has the most amazing Chinese food local and beyond. I discovered Kias with my Mom when my daughter was only a couple weeks old, she is now 3 and I still refuse to go to another Chinese restaurant even if you paid me. The staff are friendly, the prices are pretty standard, but the food is to die for

Kais is a staple in our household. We get take-out from Kais at least once per month. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The selection is varied and its all great. The staff are also all extremely friendly and hard working. I couldnt recommend Kais enough for your Chinese/Cantonese food fix!
Very nice place! We were in town for a day and the person made us feel very welcome and even guided us to nice places to go. The dishes are very good, inexpensive and the quantity is really good! To try!
Food was decent, nothing special. Portions are a nice size, but we weren t given any utensils or napkins at all. What are we supposed to eat takeout with? Our hands? Also, pineapple chicken fried rice was subpar and bland, chicken was dry and not fresh. Szechuan beef was alright.
General Tao chicken was sought and no flavour at all! Rice was okay, but they mixed vegetables with chicken and it made taste so bad! I don t know if I will order again from here, but maybe I will give it another shot and if it s better I will fix this review!
My go to take out restaurant, the food is always great and the prices are more than fare! I always get the dinner for two with the sweet and sour sauce on the side and a wonton soup! I have never had a bad meal here!

Il be honest. I was starting to think there was no good food like this in Kingston... And twice now Ive had extremely fast delivery with a polite driver and food so hot I have to wait a bit for it to cool. Always nice and fresh and tastes amazing. My go to spot for a decent combo plate and fast delivery.

Best Chinese Food in Kingston. Every dish Ive tried has been delicious but I highly recommend: #36 Sweet & Sour Wonton, #39 Chicken Soo Guy, #105 Cantonese Chow Mein and #163 Beef in Hot Chili Oil.

Delicious food, great prices, cooked fresh to order (not slop from a tub). Hot and Sour soup loaded with ingredients and full of flavour. Black bean sauce here has been a favorite of mine for years. Theyve got a ghost pepper sauce in case you like heat.

My friend and I decided to try this place for the first time as Ive heard good things. We went in and ordered some food to go and the service was quick and friendly. The owner (I assume) came out and had a friendly chat with us as we were leaving and once we got home we ate our faces off in Chinese food bliss, the portions were huge and the food was awesome! Would def recommend and will be returning. The General Tao was awesome

We have ordered twice since moving to kingston. Best chinese we have had in Kingston by far. Being from Toronto, we are always looking for the best chinese food restaurants and its super hard to find, but Kais Delight does it right.

Weve tried a lot of places for Chinese food, and we only order from here now. Everything is fresh and delicious, the food arrives fast and hot, and the prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff, at least over the phone and during delivery. I highly recommend this place.

Wish Kais was there when I was in Angus House. The service was friendly, food was ready on time and great tasting. Really like the new calander, it was like a blast from the past, a classic. Looking forward to our next order.

Hands Down one of the best resturants in Kingston,Ontario. I have Crohns and have to be very picky with my food. Not only does the staff make it right the first time or replaces the order as soon as you call back. Quick delivery and super friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone Espically with a food allergy

My Spouse and I eat here on a regular basis. We enjoy the warm welcome and quick service youd expect from fast food. The food quality is what we think the best in Kingston! The vegis are aleays fresh, and portion sizes always send us home full, and not broke! Look forward to coming again!

I was one of the first customers to go to this restaurant when it opened in Portsmouth Village and the owner has NEVER forgotten me. I could go months without eating here and every time I come back he remembers exactly what we had talked about the last time and asks how Im doing. He even had the sense of concern one night to talk to me about how I was overworking myself and it was starting to show on my body. I mean how many restaurant owners do you know care THAT much about their customers? Food is always great, price is awesome and they deliver to the West End which is nice on those days I dont feel like driving. Im also going to point out that Kais is the ONLY restaurant I have never gotten *knock on wood* food poisoning from in Kingston.

Visited with a loud group of friends. The noise level from our table must have been abrasive but the restaurant staff were always polite about everything. Pricing is very reasonable and you get some generous portions. Store could use a bit of a cosmedic makeover but it doesnt bother me all that much.

This Chinese restaurant has an old time feel, with friendly staff, reasonable prices, and even neighborly patrons! Its a little like going home, or maybe traveling back in time. We bought pineapple chicken fried rice, deep fried wantons, Buddhas vegetables, and chicken balls. We recieved large dishes with lots of food, and the price was only 36 dollars.
One of the best chineese food I have had. And the staffs are really good. I had BBQ Duck BBQ Pork amd chineese greens on Rice which was really delicious.
