318 King St E, Kingston, ON K7L 2Z3, Canada
Family owned and operated since 1921.
This is the real deal, a traditional dinner complete with the stools at the counter. Since 1921 this family run business has been serving simple delicious food to the residents and visitors of downtown Kingston. My friend and I were looking for a light lunch and we knew the perfect place to go. Morrison's offered a soup of the day special on this day it was a hearty split pea and ham soup. We paired that with a toasted western and our fantastic light lunch was complete. The service was too notch and the environment was warm and inviting. I love this place. Next time you are in Kingston be sure to check them out.
Delicious!!! Meats are so soft and tasty. (Salmon, steak...) Didn't know such a gem in kingston!!
Your typical diner, service was super friendly and efficient. My build your own omelette was very good. They close at 2 pm every day!
Such a great place. Warmly greeted right away. Food was yummy and reasonably priced. I had the egg sandwich club with bacon, cheese, lettuce & tomato and home fries. Very delicious.
I walked around Kingston area during lunch time and there were lots of people eating here so I decided to try this restaurant out. However, it is not my type of restaurant. The dishes lacked flavour and were quite bland to me. I would say the price is a bit expensive too compared to the portion and quality. Overall, it wasn’t worth a try to me.
My experience was somewhat disappointing. The food was a bit overpriced considering its mediocre quality. The dishes lacked flavour and were quite bland. Despite the underwhelming food, the place seems to be popular among students, though I’m not entirely sure why. Overall, I would say it wasn’t worth the cost for the quality of food provided.
I went to breakfast with my kids yesterday, the strawberry milkshakes are the best, if you know about milkshakes, this is the real and original deal (picture). Greek breakfast was good too. The service is fast and very efficient. The atmosphere is pleasant and calm. Tess was very friendly, efficient and for a moment I felt like my mom was there taking care of everything I needed. I will definitely return! :)
Love the locally-owned ambiance here. I got the breakfast #1. The food was tasty and come out pretty quick. Great service as well. Will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in town.
This has become a favourite spot for my partner and I to have our Friday lunches. Yesterday (Friday the 20th) was the first time we were able to stop in after me being super busy with school for the last couple months and we were greeted very warmly and treated like we were family! I have a very sensitive stomach and this is one of the very few places that I can safely eat without worrying that my stomach is going to be upset the rest of the day. We are always greeted so warmly when we come in and its clear the owners remember the regulars. They were so excited to see us come in and it started off our lunch with great energy. I am looking forward to resuming our every Friday lunches here and cant wait to come back! The ONLY thing that has ever been a cause of frustration for me here is the lack of an accessible bathroom, to use the bathroom here it is up a somewhat steep flight of stairs, so that is very much something to keep in mind when coming here. Wheelchair accessibility: They keep one table at the front with only 3 chairs for those with wheelchairs/walkers which is great! The bathroom however is NOT accessible as it is up a flight of stairs.
Its unfortunate, but sometimes you have to give a poor review. The food wasnt good. You can tell the cook had no real passion for what he/she did. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was distinctly authentic diner. Ill give it another try in future and update the review if theres an improvement.
Great vibes every time I eat here, these people work hard and it shows. I Love the steak and eggs meal. These diners are few and far between these days
Fair food, good prices. Kinda stuck in a prior era, which I personally really like.
We had burgers and fries. Served in a flash! Best burgers we have had in a long time. The staff were fantastic. Definitely a place to check out if you want tasty quality food.
Had a lovely breakfast at Morrisons! Waitress was very nice and other staff members were very attentive to their customers. Food was great and the prices arent too steep. Best diner in Kingston! Ill definitely be coming back :)
I like coming to Morrisons for the friendly laid-back atmosphere. This is an unpretentious place with good food and friendly staff. Its not too expensive but lunch will still run you $20. Seems to be about the average these days. But $20 here goes towards way better food than the fast food joint practically next door! Skip a and go to Morrisons instead.
Been a fan of Morrisons for a long time. Kingston tradition. Often have specials every single day and is well priced for the food. Highly recommend!
Surprisingly tasty. We ordered burger and breakfast sandwich, and they were super fresh and crunchy. Also very friendly and fast service.
Everyone passing through Kingston needs to stop at this icon.
Great food and reasonable prices.
Unfortunately this long time staple of Kingston is no longer what it used to be. Despite really lovely staff the food was overpriced, cold and inconsistent. The $9 small Caesar salad we were served looked like it may have been left behind by someone else, while the table beside us got a fresh full dish. The $9 small poutine came on a tea plate with a handful of fries and drizzle of gravy.
A great old fashioned ma and pa type restaurant. Lots of parking nearby. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced.
Fantastic breakfast hands down! Food came out fast and delicious. Youll never run out of coffee! Theyre always making sure you are looked after. Cant wait until next time Food : 5/5
Always a great breakfast here! Very classic breakfast menu. Our food for 4 of us was on the table in <10min! Would recommend!
Fabulous all around!
Absouletly splendid service in every aspect possible
I ve been to Morrisons a couple of times and it is a good, family-run diner - you ll get a hearty, basic breakfast here.
An old favorite. Great prices for a good home cooked breakfast
Great old school simple diner. Go in with that expectation and youre all set.
Parents and I came to enjoy a quick breakfast before heading out of Kingston. We unfortunately got up and left our table after the waitress had ignored our table for a solid 15 minutes and kept serving other tables. She had come to us once right after being seated and when we were ordering drinks and looking at the menu she left (I think because one of our table members was looking at the milk shakes for a second too long rather than ordering). She never came back. We waved down the youngest waitress who said the older waitress would be with us right away. She never came. We got up and left and I don t think they even noticed. Greatly understaffed. Iv heard good things about this place but have to say we aren t a group that usually gets up and leaves unless it is really bad :/ The younger waitress was super friendly and kind! The older waitress was just super duper busy. Running between tables. Felt bad for her but the wait for service was unrealistic.
Very nice place, very good food, fast and nice service. Great atmosphere. I recommend :) Photo with the owner
Morrisons is your quintessential greasy spoon. If you go there looking for more you will be durations, cut thats in you for expecting a wedding dress on a perfectly packaged slice of bacon and set of sausage links. Food : 5/5
My husband and I were there today it s our anniversary today. Everyone was so nice and even nice people bought our breakfast. The food was delicious. I would definitely come back again.
An old style diner with authentic home cooked meals. Family run and owned. They make you feel welcome and treat you like Family.
Enjoyed eating lunch there, absoultely good. There is a reason they have been around all these years
My friend and I had breakfast there yesterday and I highly recommend the place. Great atmosphere, service and food. We got the feeling that the people working there really appreciated our business. I will definitely go back for more the next time I visit Kingston.
Love this place. Hasnt changed much since I was a kid. Love the quick and friendly service. Great for breakfast. Has the old school diner feel. Have never been disappointed yet over the past 30 years.
The food is overpriced for the quality of food served. The sauce that came with the pasta was bland and tasteless. The meat sauce had no meat in it. My 10yr old son can do a better job than this. Never tasted such bad pasta before. The all meat breakfast was terrible. The steak sandwich was bland. The Caesar salad was horrible. Will not go there again or recommend anyone to go there. If you are thinking of going there, any other place will definitely be better than this!
The service was very poor. The food as well. They dont even know which person order what food.We were pressured into splitting the bill and tipping separately. When we paid the tip, they were saying its less and ask us to give more, they laughed at us and insulted us, insisting we keep the tip ourselves despite still wanting it.And then they still need those.
As a student living in Kingston, I ve had the luxury of visiting Morrisons on multiple occasions and have only ever had great experiences here. Great food and wonderfully friendly staff who are eager to refill your coffee or assure your customer experience is positive. This is a great establishment which I d gladly recommend you anybody in Kingston.
Great place for breakfast in downtown Kingston. Lots of regulars look to come through here. Food came out within 5 minutes. Good portions
Visiting Morrison was a dream come true! It exceeded all my expectations with fantastic service, generous portions, and an incredible location. I cant wait to go back!
A great, old-school diner - I try to visit each time I go to Kingston. Great breakfast menu, fast and friendly service. Prices are great as well and a real institution given how long they have been in business!
Great breakfast diner. Staff and food were great. Booth tables a little small for 4 people.
No kidding. I have been told several times to try Morrisons so I finally did. The owners made me feel like family and I could hardly eat all the delicious food For 12.00 I will be back as Morrisons is now my go to place. Thank-you Morrisons
I was amazing
A great place in downtown historic Kingston. Large breakfast menu, served fast and hot.
This place was terrible. My Aunt became sick after she had one of their meals. None of us ate it and we still had to pay for it.
This is a classic in Kingston that has to be experienced to appreciate. Ive been eating here for over 50 years and now others who would put that number at 70-80.
Old school food ,aka made with good ingredients nothing fancy, plain decor but great value
Wow incredible food, what a great breakfast The eggs were perfect The pancakes outstanding Bacon supreme
Excellent! I love the sandwich and the pankcakes
Food was pretty good, was quite loud in there for me though.
Great food, service and location!
The food was not good at all. It came far too quickly to have been cooked as ordered. The bacon for breakfast had been cooked long before and was tough and unappetizing. The potatoes were an unattractive orange colour, maybe the oil they were cooked in? Our server was pleasant and very attentive. I was with two other people and we all left our plates virtually untouched.
Love being a tourist in your own town so we had lunch at Morrisons. Great taste and value in a $18 clubhouse with home made fries and coffee. Tess was a dear and made us feel so welcome.
Owned by the nicest, hardest working family in town. Can reccomend this as THE place to eat if you are going for a classic breakfast, brunch or lunch.
A traditional diner with a mom and pops restaurant vibe. The food is good and the portion sizes are generous.
Expensive for what it was. Probably won t go back. Much better options around there for similar price.
Wonderful meals served with a smile - breakfast of champions.
Came in for brunch, party of 4. Abby was our server and was a complete sweetheart. Assisted us with a smile at every visit to our table. Food came out faster than I ve ever experienced and it was very filling and delicious. One party member accidentally put sugar in their food rather than salt. Abby overheard the issue and was at our table immediately offering to replace the plate. They are very attentive and greeted us warmly the entire visit. Would definitely visit again when in town. Abby keep up the great work and amazing personality. You made our visit extremely pleasant.
Nice little family run business. Our server was a very sweet older lady with a very pleasant demeanor.
If you are looking for the EXPERIENCE... besides the food This is the right place...you figure out my words once you are theres...ENJOY ..lol Food
BEST breakfast!!! Fast friendly service great atmosphere!!
Excellent service. Great food
Arrived for breakfast at 9:30 with less than a dozen diners. Sat in the sun near the window and was served promptly by a friendly woman. Ordered 3 eggs and ham, and Greek omelette (didnt have olives). Been in business since 1921. Quiet with no music and only low conversations. Prices have increased here recently as with everywhere else.
Very busy. Great service. Generous helping. Food came out hot. Staff go around and top up coffees. Excellent place.
Great family place. Local following. Outstanding view.
Got a simple breakfast just some eggs and hashbrowns and toast,. The eggs were not cooked correctly making them a runny mess, like snot. Hashbrowns cold, the only good part was the toast. 0/10 terrible food and expensive for how much you get .
Convenient as it was one block away from the Canadian Passport office in the Canadian services building and had a late breakfast there. Very filling and a unique potato dish including one eg and 4 strips of bacon. Bought coffee too.
This has been here since I was a child. Amazing Breakfast and Brunch like Grandmas kitchen. An employee opened Johns restaurant in Napanee, and it was amazing. They both had the Best Brunch I have ever had.
We are from Québec and everytime we come to Kingston we stop by Morrison. We absolutely love this place! The food is great!
This is a family owned and operated business The service was excellent, fast and courteous. The food was excellent I would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Food
The service was ok food came out fast. The pancakes were sour the eggs were sticky home fry s were cold and under cooked, all that food and it was 80$! If you need a quick meal and don t care what it tastes like this is the spot but over all 4/10
Greasy spoon diner, food is always good and service is always fast. Orders come correct! Prices are reasonable. Cant ask for more. Kid-friendliness: Have high chairs, milkshakes and kids menu items
Absolutely amazing place. Sweetest people, great food, super fast service.
Sometimes you wanna go Where everybody knows your name And theyre always glad you came You wanna be where you can see Our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows your name That song sums up Morrisons for me
Best restaurant in all of Kingston. This is a must-go spot for breakfast or lunch. The service is phenomenal and the food arrives unbelievably fast. We go here once a week and I cant recommend it highly enough.
Edit in response to owner reply: I have personally witnessed the mistreatment of staff by Tess and it is the reason that I, nor my friends and family, will continue to support your restaurant. It is extremely disappointing that you declare this a false allegation, I know you are very well aware of how you speak to your employees behind the counter. Please direct the same amount of energy towards addressing the mistreatment of wait staff in your restaurant that you are to upholding your image online. Sharing this for future and current customers- the family that owns this restaurant treats their staff (in particular their waitresses) absolutely terribly. They treat paying customers fine yes, but Tess (the elderly lady that owns the restaurant with her husband, who you might see serving tables) regularly yells at the young ladies working without cause. The family is aware that Tess is responsible for driving away waitress after waitress and chooses not to act. I strongly recommend that no one support this business, extremely two-faced owners and mediocre food to top it off!
Great spot. Awesome breakfast! If your in Kingston. Stop by.
Stopped in today for breakfast. My wifes 1st time as I had raved about restaurant for years. Service was great. The food came out very fast. The down side to fast service is pancakes were cold must have had stack sitting on grill and French toast was like warm bread not grilled very long. Ham looked like it had never been on grill and the over easy eggs were barely cooked and slimy. Very disappointed. Spent 50.00 for breakfast and my dogs ate have of it.
Insanely fast service and well priced
This place is stellar! Came before a hockey game w/ my son! Staff were hoping, crazy busy but super friendly and the food was great !
Fast to the table excellent food
The worst breakfast = cold eggs, cold toast, jerky-tough bacon, sour homefries. We were so disappointed. Coffee wasnt good either. I think owners have grown complacent and dont even try anymore. Quality is terrible. Theyve cut every corner but breakfast for 2 was over $30 + tip. We really wanted to like it, but we wont be back.
Great Service. The waitress had our drinks to us in the matter of seconds. And the food was out quickly as well even with how many customers they had. Amazing Coffee. And you can even connect to city wifi. The food is nice, and you aren t going to spend 100$ on food that s worth 30$. Family friendly, and brings a small town community feel to the downtown of Kingston. Better food than most places downtown and cheaper. Definitely will be returning. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of salads on the menu and other options for vegetarian dishes Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to types of cheese and they were very clear when it came to addressing the issue. Also the fact that the waitress could name every ingredient in the food was astonishing. Kid-friendliness: They are friendly to children and makes a very welcoming space. They even make sure to send all kids out the door with a candy after their meal. Also they have proper high chairs unlike most restaurants.
Old school diner in the Center of downtown Kingstown. excellent breakfast speedy service, friendly owners, and staff, and reasonably priced. I had the same breakfast at a waterfront hotel and paid almost double. It is a definite stop on every Kingston visit.
Fastest food ive ever ordered
Great service! Great food! Then they top that with the friendliest service youve ever had. A must go to spot in Kingston :)
This dated place has great value, good portions, and quick service.
This place is a Kingston institution! My parents went on dates here in the early 1970s. Its your classic diner, so manage your expectations and just enjoy the atmosphere!
Absolutely remarkable experience. Superb service and delicious food. Great spot
Love this place so much. Got a chance to visit it again during a weekend in Kingston. Don t sleep on the soup of the day!!! It s made fresh every morning and has been phenomenal every single time I ve tried it. The breakfast club or any of their breakfast combos here are also always a hit. Their pancakes are very very fluffy and thick, and hit the spot. Amazing breakfast potatoes as well, and unlimited refills on coffee. Make sure you visit this spot for a classic diner experience.
Great ol Kingston breakfast institution. Classic greasy spoon diner, a throwback, great atmosphere.
Old diner with modern twists...
Ive visited this place for many years. Always super fast service. Old time diner which. Has not changed over the last 30 years. Great breakfast options which is what we like to order.
Step into Morrisons and you step into the past! This restaurant has old-school charm and very tasty food. My friends and I stopped by for brunch and we were not disappointed. From the over-easy medium eggs, crispy bacon, perfectly cooked steak, poached eggs, to the wonderful coffee, perfectly toasted and buttered bread, everything was delicious! The staff are attentive and informative, and their smiles are genuine. Afterwards, we walked around downtown and then came back for delicious milkshakes! Once you eat here, you understand why this restaurant has been the heart of Kingston for many years.
Great old diner
Absolutely love this place. It feels like home. This is still the original style diner, not a new enterprise trying to be old style. Food, atmosphere and the people are genuine.
Very delicious American breakfast, steak and eggs with toasted bread.
The food was honestly pretty mediocre -- my over hard eggs had a weird texture, making me think it could be powdered. Prices are insanely overpriced for portion sizes. Seems good for a hangover breakfast place -- cant speak to their lunch/dinner menu.
Good service, good atmosphere. Prices were par or less than average. Cant complain about the food. Breakfast is hard to screw up. Kid-friendliness: We brought the double stroller in and they put us in a place where it wasnt in the way.
Wr had breakfast here recently. It is a very busy downtown location. The service was great and the food was excellent.
Morrisons is a great restaurant. I asked a local cop where he would eat and he suggested this place. The restaurant is fair priced, great portions and the staff are super personable. I ordered a basic breakfast and it arrived within 4-5 minutes. I will eat here again. Parking: Lots of parking near by but Kingston over charges for there parking. Kid-friendliness: There is a family here and they seem to be enjoying it.
Great spot as always for breakfast. Fast, fresh and served with a smile.
Do not order the donair , its dry served with chunks of white onions and tomato chucks (cut largely ) and poorly, not good at all. Should have taken a pic.
Excellent and friendly service. Breakfast set and milkshake are both impeccable.
Very lack luster food. Service was mediocre.
Really Good..
Great restaurant. I go here every time Im in Kingston.
Always great food and friendly and fast service!
Nonno biting the hand that feeds him. Yawn.
The bacon cheeseburger platter was delicious. A fresh beef patty on a soft fresh bun. The fries were nice and crispy, just the way I like them. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. Ill be back the next time Im in Kingston.
The bacon was cold and the waiter asked us to tell the chef and owner he came over and became offended .. denied cold bacon and started to ridicule us, me and my husband with our customers .. it was awful to be mistreated like that
Food is typical dinner fare. Very charming location and good quick service. Prices are very reasonable
The waitress was very good. She tried her best to please us. My friend ordered Salmon. The Salmon was overdone. It was very dry. My friend couldnt eat and asked for a replacement but the owner or chef that was the way the Salmon was done. My friend and I regularly cook Salmon and it doesnt need to be overcooked like that. If it is, it becomes very dry. Instead they brought more french fries for my friend but my friend wasnt impressed. The waitress tried her best and was probably a student or a high school kid so I tried to give her a good tip anyway as it wasnt her fault the Salmon wasnt good.
The Most amazing service I have ever experienced. They served a group of 24 breakfast on a Saturday faster than any chain or coffee shop serves 1 family All chains should learn how to serve people from this restaurant From our young server who literally ran through the restaurant to the not so young cooks who served great food in minutes. Servings were large and very reasonably priced. It was amazing to watch them work
Best breakfast I ever had. Momma is such a wonderful lady. Great service Great food Thankyou from your Brockville customers Food
Very friendly waitress Nice place Recommended when in Kingston
Great place to eat! 1 h is a good amount of time.
An old school diner in downtown Kingston.
102 year old jewel of a diner in the downtown core!!! Great good!!!great people!!! Will become our go to place!!!!
Fast, Friendly, and Fab.
Spent this last weekend in Kingston. Went on an island cruise and Morrisons came highly recommended for breakfast/lunch. We really enjoyed it . The food was fabulous and it is a family run and operated visit. I always like to support local. Tess our waitress was amazing. Go there. You will not be disappointed
Classic restaurant at heart of Kingston. Full of good people, great service, and wonderful food. Worth the meal time.
This has to be the best breakfast restaurant in the entire area! Morrisons has been around for ever and we traveled and stopped in based on their reputation, it was very good and worth the stop. The own is a great guy carrying on a long family tradition and the server was fantastic.
5/5 stars Always an excellent experience on each visit to Morrisons Restaurant. Food
I love this place, and have been going there for years! The friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and good food keep me coming back!
Been coming here for over 45 years....never disappoints!
Its hard to beat the all day breakfasts at Morrisons. Best greasy spoon in Kingston!
A dynamic waitress, a very friendly and warm atmosphere. A very good time spent, a good experience for a breakfast.
Exactly as expected, I had a simple breakfast that was fast, affordable and tasty .great staff too
I had the experience of eating here a short time ago for lunch. This diner still has the old fashioned diner feeling to it as well as it seemed like it was being family operated. It seemed like everyone in the family was working here from the grand parents down to the gran children. This local diner also seemed very popular as it was very busy when we were there. It was a great experience being here and seeing how the family and diner ran but the food we had was nothing special but just ok. The service was very good and the food came out quickly. I f I am ever in kingdom again I would come back but would probably try something different.
Yummy homemade chilli with butter garlic bread. Quick service
My family loved it. Great little restaurant with great food.
If you want traditional breakfast, this is the place. The time to table from ordering has been consistently fast for the both times Ive been - it was under five minutes, even when busy! The prices are very reasonable too. Stop reading this review and start heading to Morrisons. Thank me later.
I will never go there again. We had the three decker sandwich with has browns. The sandwich was soggy and the has browns were unidentifiable as such. I call it mush or slop. I refused to pay for it so they took $2 off our bill.
The waitress was over the top friendly and bubbly. The owner seemed really nice as well. The food was exceptionally quick getting to the table! The eggs were a bit under cooked, but still tasted great...overall, very good
Ive been going to Morrisons for the last 30 years. During my time at Queens and now sitting visits. Its a Kingston staple. Always friendly service and a good, simple, tasty breakfast. A fabulous small town diner.
Our lunch was far from meeting our expectations. We left our plates barely touched and left, disappointed.
Just had a beautiful breakfast here today. Portions were good and nicely made, and the staff were friendly and professional. The meal came fast, too.
I believe that this restaurant has been a mainstay in downtown Kingston for decades. They were able to accommodate our sports team at short notice. They were able to take our orders and provide our dishes very quickly. Very friendly and efficient operation. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great place to visit when in Kingston. Good food.
Amazing traditional diner experience with a wholesome atmosphere and great food/service!
Perfection, pure perfection. If a breakfast diner is your vibe Morrison s is the absolute best. At our table we an omelette, pancakes, French toast and eggs over easy. The food was delicious, well proportioned and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and fast. We will definitely return when we visit Kingston again.
Had a great time, really homie institution
Family diner. Great breakfast. The waiters were super friendly.
excellent service very friendly efficient accommodation for large group. excellent food . felt right at home
Old school diner with great food.
Even while busy, some of the fastest breakfast service Ive ever received. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Glad I made the trip across town to visit and look forward to next time! Its cozy comfort diner breakfast, with a little flair.
We went for breakfast, the food is amazing, the service was really good. Wish they will have vegan options as my husband is vegan. Food
Classic diner with fast service and great breakfast fare.
Great resteaunt been going here for years. Staff is always friendly, food is great. My only real issue with it is hours of operation since covid and parking is a comoletenoain in the butt. Parking: It,s downtown and has no parking of its own so you are at the mercy of trying to find a city parking spot thats available during the time you want to eat which sometimes is very difficult. Kid-friendliness: I believe they have a kids menu, the staff is great with kids.
Classic diner with great service. Food came out quick. Lots of breakfast options including all day breakfast. Super friendly staff.
This was my second visit to Morrisons this week and I was hoping the first visit was the exception. It was not. The food was fine, though luke-warm at best, the server took the order correctly, but the cook, even after being corrected got it wrong, the crispy bacon was not, and the home fries cold. If this is a byproduct of their very prompt service its a very poor trade-off. You can have your eggs as youd like, the server said. I asked them to be scrambled with cheddar cheese mixed in. What I received was cold and institutional eggs, with a square of cheese dropped on top. Folks, your cook is lazy and doesnt care enough to serve your customers. Find a new one. I wanted my experiences to be special as a friend had told me this was the place to go, but until Morrisons realizes their flaws its just an overpriced and run down breakfast diner in the best place to have a diner in downtown Kingston. I look forward to a better experience when I return, someday. Parking: Nearby there are city lots serviced by Honk mobile to pay for a space.
Almost 70 years and this is how your plate should look afterwards. Awesome breakfast nook
No trip to Kingston is truly complete without breakfast here.
What a great place!! A family diner with great food, service and welcoming, wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast is my favorite and they did not disappoint - highly recommend making a stop at this Mom and Pop their super friendly staff are waiting to serve you.
Clean, super friendly staff/owners. Excellent breakfast! Reasonable prices. Went back a couple days later and they remembered us. Will definitely go again when in the area. Recommend highly!!
Food wasnt well cooked... runny scrambled eggs and potatoes werent well cooked either. BUT it was good and Bacon was awesome it was also super quick! However... the cook behind was a jerk to the server. Server was fast and super nice but he was mad at her to the point of cussing her out and almost dropping the food off the counter pushing it towards her. If you have issues with your staff take it down a notch and dont do it in front of customers. Have some decency and show some professionalism. Might not be in english or french but it doesnt mean we dont hear / understand. Awkward!!!
The apex predator of breakfast places.
Hearty breakfast with remarkable pancakes. A wonderful hostess of kindness and attention. Not to be missed.
Great value, friendly atmosphere, exceptional service! Highly recommend.
Great Family owned business with good food, large portions and amazing service.
Great authentic breakfast spot. Extremely busy. Vegetarian options: Greek omelet was good Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect for wheelchair
My two daughters took me to Morrisons for my 76th birthday. I hadn t been to Morrisons for about 8 years. The service was lightning fast, good food and the usual packed ambience of the Saturday morning crowd was pleasant I couldn t believe that the waitress remembered me and upon paying our bill the cashier also remembered me and asked several times how I was and even shook my hand. Those two interactions are what brings me back. That will leave a lasting memory for me
Overall Good. Busy rush most likely led to slower service and the food was not hot when it came out.
Classic breakfast place! Old school vibe, amazing food and fantastic service!
Awesome place to eat breakfast and lunch and dinner the food is all home made they treat you like family
One word BREAKFAST!!
Incredible location, polite staff, wonderful food and drink, would love to return someday, bought a bag of scones to take home, delicious warmed up with some jam or even cheeze!
Very lovely, family oriented breakfast place. Quick service. Very attentive staff. Just a very nice, family run restaurant. :)
I am about the get passionate about a very strange thing - club sandwiches. They are the perfect sandwich. So many places put club sandwiches on their menus but they are just taking the name and making some sort of chicken sandwich. If there is cheese on a club sandwich then it is not a club sandwich. It needs to be a double layered sandwich with bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, toasted bread white or brown bread, and and sliced turkey or chicken. Preferably cut into 1/4ths. I found my love of club sandwiches at Morrisons around 2009 and while I have been to many other places and tried many other club sandwiches they don t compare to this diner. Here they shave meat off of a fresh turkey, use good ingredients, and do it the same way they have been doing it for decades. I asked the owner what his secret was and he said if you serve people bad food then how do you get them to come back. That s why they haven t changed their tried and true methods and use tasty ingredients. Yes the inside is outdated, yes maybe the staff are sometimes grumpy, but honestly if I walked into a diner with an elegant dining room and overly pleasant staff I would think there is something very wrong. The food is straight up comfort food, reasonably priced considering todays economy. The owners are sooo nice. They are an older married couple. While I was eating there during move in week and a dad of a student came in to pick up a club sandwich. He said it was for his son who went to Queens and got a club sandwich every week and now his daughter was moving in too. So he was picking up for both of them. The owners knew who they all were and were excited about the other kid going to Queens too. The dad asked if the owners would do a video wishing his son a Happy Birthday and while the husband muttered a bit his wife pulled him in and they both wished one of their regulars a happy birthday in the video. In conclusion: come here
Love having been introduced to this place from my friend, and its now become my new traditional breakfast spot since moving here. Tess is one of the warmest people I have ever met, food is always on the table in ten minutes or less.
What can I say.. a classic diner experience.
Food came out cold, homefries we microwaved not even put on grill to crisp them, old dude tossed plate on table after heating it up for me was grumpy. No apologies nothing. Eggs werent cooked. But they had no sympathy or cared. Dont eat there. Plus they want tip when you pay. Old guy will say what was wrong with your food then.
This place is in a great location, and the atmosphere is pretty amazing as well. The service was quick and friendly, but the breakfast food was quite bland for our liking. I would go back and try the lunch or dinner menu though!!
Great diner in downtown Kingston.
SUCH a great diner! Home cooked food. Service was super fast even though they were very busy. We were seated right away. No joke, with a full restaurant - our food was there in less than 10 minutes! You can tell it s family owned with lots of family members working who are all extremely nice, very attentive and efficient! The Italian woman who I assume is one of the owners was the nicest lady! Thank you!!
I love Morrisons restaurant. Ive been going to this cozy diner since I was a kid. The family that owns and operates it is so kind and generous. They serve fantastic food at affordable prices. Its definitely one of my favorite spots in Kingston to grab a quick bite. I cant recommend this place enough!!
Lovely place for classic diner brunch, amazing friendly service
Terrible service, they were so stressed, food ok but just wanted my tea when my Western Sandwich came, but nope didn t happen! Something as simple as that!
Fast service. Food was as expected-hot, well cooked. Breakfast was spot on.
Old greasy spoon. I believe its the oldest restaurant in town! The staff is super friendly. Food is served within minutes. Fair prices considering the amount given. Love the ambiance, zero frills and humble. Great location.
Had a great breakfast here. Quick and tasty. Reasonable price.
Mom & Pop place with Mom & Pop very onvolved with customers. Lovely to eat there!
Just like I remember as a little girl!
