This place use to be one of our favourite take out spots till they changed locations. Now the portion sizes are smaller and they took away the veggies! So now you just get rice and potatoes! Minos was always known for great portion sizes and food but unfortunately that s not the case anymore. They also always screw up our order. They re like McDonald s If you don t check your order before you leave it s wrong! If you re craving Minos go to the west end location. They aren t skimping out just yet at that location. We won t be going to the downtown location anymore sadly.

That was probably the worst meal I have ever rec d for multiple reasons. Not only was it 45 mins late, ribs were horrible (mostly bone not hardly any meat) I replied to the confirmation email and attached some pictures of what was delivered. I wish I could share them here. Needless to say this will be my first & last order from this restaurant. I wouldve expected much more for $80. Oh when my order confirmation came to $77.97 including delivery charge of $4 so how it ended up over $80 I ha e know idea.

Delicious food. And desserts are sooooo good. Would 100% recommend.

Tried out this new spot for take-out this evening as its new to my neighbourhood. I really wanted to like this place (I LOVE Greek food but need a change from Grecos) but the food here really needs some work. I ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner, and the chicken, potatoes, and rice tasted as if they were long frozen and all boiled to cook. The chicken especially tasted bland and seemed slightly underdone, and was covered in a mushroom sauce which was, candidly, completely dreadful and strangely out of place for a Greek restaurant. The credit I will give to Minos downtown is their beautiful display and variety of desserts, the friendly staff, and the pink salad dressing. It is delicious. I really hope this place will improve the quality and authenticity of their food because it is a great location and could be a good alternative to the other Greek spots.

I just finished eating my delivery order and I had to come on here and thank you! I ordered a Portuguese chicken, potatoes and Greek salad and was very impressed with everything. First of all the portion sizes were extremely generous! The food tasted fresh and was very flavourful (the salad dressing truly is one of a kind) and I received two buns that I wasn t expecting which was a nice surprise. :) Great value for what you re paying for, highly recommend!

We were passing through Kingston recently and decided last minute to stop at Minos Take Out. ( We had not been in yrs !! )We arrived just before closing. We were so pleased with the service and with the food.The food is so flavorful and such large portions!!! We ordered the family pack and had plenty of left overs!! Amazing pricing quality and super friendly staff!!!! Can not wait to pass through Kingston again!!!!

My niece order mother day dinner at 1030am thru Uber eat.she got notice that the meal was being made and driver was on his way to pick it up ,then received notice that the order was cancelled by Minos.We had people here waiting for supper but ended up ordering from someone else because Minos wouldn t make our order. This was not nice of minos to not notice people earlier in the day.

Foods pretty good here but you now cant get delivery if you call the restraunt and are forced to use uber eats... Kinda ridiculous they wont take a order and use princess delivery ..

they don t have change for 100$ on a 70$ bill, they don t have a debit machine and you have to read them your card over the phone ..

The worst greek Ive ever had. We were visiting from out of town and walked to this place. I couldnt even eat it. I ended up throwing it out. The meat wasnt cooked, the rice was so plain and the veggies were still frozen...they had no plastic forks and knives so I tried to eat my salad with a spoon. That was fun. Such a waste for $20. Dont recommend at all.

I placed an order for a party after hours and website said someone would call at 11 AM the next day for my credit card info. I thought the order was processing. No one called and next day I got an email saying the order was cancelled. Called and no answer and no way to leave message. Sucked!

Good greek food. Prices are good, service is fast, big portions. EDIT (AUG/2022)...Food coming out of the kitchen is bland, tzatziki tastes like a clove of garlic, rice was subpar, and chicken was ok at best. Dont know what has happened over the past few years, but nowhere near as good as it once was, sorry to say.

Pretty good Greek food! This little takeout spot also has sit down service! We reserved a table to support fundraising for HARS - and it was a prix fixe menu, appetizers and dessert were not included but we ordered some anyways. The Filet Mignon skewers were well marinated by overcooked - I dont mind blackened bits for the bbq, but the meat was kinda tough and it was the marinade that saved it from being dry. Tasty rice, flavoured with chicken stock, I believe. Nice potatoes. Veggies were good, but tasted like it was from frozen, especially the carrots which were flavourless.

Hands down best takeout in Kingston. I ordered the party pack for me and 4 of my friends and it was definitely enough. Genuine, authentic Greek food. Great customer care from George and Anna! Ill definitely be ordering from here again when Im having another party. Highly recommended

My family loves this place! Great alternative to fast food. Food is always fresh and portions are generous. Family fav is the Party Pack this will feed 4 of us for several meals! If the weather is bad, or youve had a long day....you might find yourself considering takeout. My go-to is often Minos. Sometimes I will order from their family packaged meals. I get a large container of yellow rice, potatos, pork skewers, tzatziki and ofcourse the AMAZING greek salad. The salad alone isnt unreal....but the bright pink dressing that they have for it could be seem as a colourful form of crack. I would eat it with anything. They sell the dressing on its own. Keep that in mind. Anyways, I recommend Minos.

Im not usually one to write reviews but after two negative experiences at Minos I felt the need to in the hopes that some changes are made. I first ate dine-in at Minos a few months ago. The food was alright but our night was spoiled when my hair nearly caught fire from some sort of flaming dish served to the table behind us. Rather than apologizing or even acknowledging this very dangerous action, the owner proceeded to take out a fire extinguisher from behind the bar to put it on display. Meanwhile, I was very shaken up and the back of my neck was red and sore to touch. We decided to give Minos another chance and order take out delivery. My partner placed the order online and the instructions were very unclear regarding payment for the meal. When he called to confirm, the individual he spoke with sounded confused about our order. Once things were sorted out our food was delivered shortly after. The portions are great and the food was reasonably warm, however, my partner had specifically requested the chicken souvlaki meal without mushroom sauce, but when he opened the package the entire meal was smothered in the sauce. Additionally, the buns were just tossed into the bag. This experience didnt leave me very confident that care was taken in the kitchen during a pandemic. Needless to say we will NOT be eating at Minos again.

Food is delicious! I ordered food for a work event and even though it was outside of their current opening hours, the owner went in to make it for me!

My family ordered from here tonight and after receiving our order we realized it was somebody else s after already handling and opening the containers. upon calling the restaurant to notify them it was the wrong order, the driver was sent back with our proper food. However she then asked for the contaminated food back!! We let the driver know that we had opened it and therefore it was contaminated. With a global pandemic it did not seem right they wanted it back, and we said that. The driver stated well it is somebody else s meal and they are waiting for it . Saying she was still planning on serving it to the other customers!!! We called back to notify the restaurant of this and they sounded annoyed by our concerns. By the time we got off the phone he finally stated he would start to make them a new one, even though he had already known since the first call. I hope they did remake the meal and delivered it, but by the time we got off the phone the delivery driver could have driven the short drive to the other house.

Definitely on my list of top restaurants in Kingston. If youre looking for a place with more than generous portion sizes as well as being welcomed as a friend, look no further this restaurant is a must especially if youre in the mood for Greek food. My personal favourite is the chicken parmesan!

Awesome greek take out. Food is fresh, tasty, and doesnt feel overly oily. Big portions small prices. Owner George is very European in character and it feels and tastes authentic.

Everything is Yummy at Minos Take Out

Frozen vegetables, a potato, a lot of rice, and 1 skewer of chicken were not worth $17. The chicken was good but a small portion size. The salad and customer service, however, were impeccable. Overall, if I were to go again, it would only be for the salad. My friend said the wrap was great

We love Minos fast friendly takeout options and they always give way more then you ll ever need. Family run business everyone they welcome into the restaurant they make you feel like you are a part of the family! George makes the BEST Greek salad dressing I ve ever tasted! Highly recommend!

Great barbeque

Downtown Minos is fantastic for take out. The food is always fresh and hot. The care in preparing the dishes is outstanding. George and his family take great pride in the food they serve customers. We have been loyal patrons for years and will continue to be. If you ever want an over the top dessert try the Chocolate Suicide Cake. It is out of this world. Great place, great food and fantastic staff.

Food was average, potatoes were like fries? Not bad but maybe something a bit nicer would be cool. Also I ordered 2 hrs in advance for a timed order that was not ready when I came and had to wait 15-20 mins in the store..

Staff greeted me as soon as I walked in, always friendly. Food was delicious with plenty of leftovers. Price is very reasonable.

We sat in the restaurant right beside the take-out. The decor was quite nice closer to finer dining than any take-out. The food was great. We had the special for two with the ribs and brochettes. It came with lots of rice potatoes and salad and Tzatziki. Everything was delicious. The portions were so generous that we left stuffed. The value food the food was outstanding. We dont live in Kingston otherwise we would be regulars. For sure we will go when we get a chance. I really liked that the chicken souvlaki was juicy as many places make it dry. Eat in or dine out this is a great option. If you are a party this would also be a great choice.

Our absolute favourite takeout - super fast, reasonable pricing (best off getting one of the specials from the online takeout menu as there is always enough for leftovers the next day!), and the souvlaki and rice are soooo delicious!

we reserved a table for 8, ate like 20,,lol. I have always liked Greek food, and I was not dissappointed.The service was impeccable, the food was so good that my brother and his wife picked up the tab. My brother and sister-in-law were so impressed that we will be returning Friday with other friends. As Kingston restaurants go I,m so sick of being disappointed that I give Minos a PERFECT score.

Worst place in town. I used to be a long time customer of this restaurant, but after my last order, I will never order from place again. I am not the kind of person who writes reviews online, but I am so frustrated by what happened that I took the time to do so. Here is the quick and dirty. I placed my order and was told that the food was going to get here between 30 and 40 minutes. No problem, I live roughly 20 minute from the restaurant so it makes sense. One hour later to the minute, I Call back and very politely ask if the order is on its way, I was told by a very rude man that it would be here in a five minutes. I ignored his very arrogant intonation and kept my cool, I even thanked him before he hung up on me... About 45min later, my girlfriend called back and she was greeted by that same individual. She once more asked if it was going to be long. She was put on hold, except the guy on the line did not press the hold button and my girlfriend could hear everything that was said. The rude man asked about our order and said that frankly he didnt give a f**k if it was on its way or not, but that this b**ch on the line wanted to know. When he came back to the phone, my girlfriend mentioned that she could hear everything that was said, he answered that if she wasnt happy, she just had to order somewhere else. I took the phone at this point and argued about how impolite he was. The man said very rudely that we were impatient idiots and Even made fun of my girlfriends accent (French accent)and promptly hung up. Never again ordering from this place ever again and implore you to find another restaurant. Never have I has such a terrible service, I was very tempted to drive down there and punch that guys nose in, but for what, all I hope is that this review dissuades you from ordering here. Family run affair. The wife runs the kitchen, the guy runs the restaurant. Lovely food always. Right around the block from our house. The moussaka there is very nice.
