Ate and drank at Tir na nog. Lovely building, clean and well maintained
In Kingston for the day, my friend and I decided to stop for a relaxing drink at the outdoor pub. We were greeted warmly, and, seated quickly. A waitress (practically a clone of all the other waitresses),appeared with menus and took our drink order. That was the last time we saw her. We sat for 22 minutes, while people who entered well after us were served. How is the food? I'd like to tell you, but we never did find out. Great coffee shop around the corner, though.
Typical tourist food joint. Well located. We had the Cajun salmon bowl and a local beer. Both were average. Pub food. If you're in a rush you better look elsewhere. Waitress uniform is really bad taste. I guess location is everything here... For the atmosphere, I'd recommend you sit inside.
On our honeymoon in Kingston we stopped here for lunch on the one day July 7 2021. Hi hostess was friendly and polite. We sat on the patio and I had deep fry pickles, and fish and chips. The deep fry pickles was amazing, i have never had pickles this good before ( they are home made). The fish on the other hand was over cooked. My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich, which he loved. To our surprise the hostess who we talked to and told him we were on our honeymoon, told the staff/owner who came out with a bottle of wine then came out with a warm chocolate brownie dessert, with chocolate sauce dipped on the plate in sharps of hearts. It was amazing. We would go back there again. Service was excellent and the food was good.
No longer a hotel. The wife used to love going to this place, but neither of us will be back. Went for food and drinks on the patio. They left garbage bags (must have been garbage day) right outside the patio fence so the aroma wafted in. Server took a very long time to take our order (or any other table's for that matter); seemed more interested in chatting with other servers than working. First two beer orders came back that they were out; and the third came back with a cider instead of beer. Food was tasty but lukewarm at best and was originally brought to a different table
It's great to stay in such a place of history. The new owners have done amazing renovations. We chose to stay on the waterfront side but had not considered the noise from the trains in the wee hours of the morning. We sat and watched the train crew work then went back to bed. Restaurant brunch is super...but a little costly.
Beautiful location. Had a very enjoyable lunch with tasty food and great service. One suggestion - the menu doesn’t include ANY non-alcoholic drinks. Would love to see some fun mocktails or NA options. Would go back and recommend this place for eats.
Went to Old Speckled Hen for drinks with friends. I love the old bar feel, makes you feel like you're back in time. Lots on tap, more then enough great whiskey to get you were you want. The bar staff were amazing, friendly, and on point. Highly recommend it for drinks to anyone. I have the food here before, it's pub fare and it's hit and miss, go for a drink and some average food.
Very nice adventure. We love its architectural style. Its worth the detour
Very pleasant.
Had a great experience!
Old Speckled Hen was awesome. Felt like I was at the bar in St. Denis in RDR2. Same era. Gorgeous. Bar tender was cool as hell too.
So old.
It is no longer a HOTEL... but the restaurant works and is excellent. It is no longer a HOTEL... but the restaurant works and is excellent.
Excellent meal and service! Great outdoor patio.
Great service, great food, great drinks!
Excellent service, good pub food.
Always a good place for a drink. Service is great and prices are reasonable. We enjoy sitting on the front patio in the summer and people watching. There are only a few tables but we have never had an issue getting one.
Good service friendly staff.
The Tir Nan Og pub which is in the hotel bldg. As there is no hotel anymore is an amazing place. Wonderful staff, great food and drinks.
Went and had a riot
Great service
ate lunch here. really good food and really nice waitstaff! i had the chicken bacon sandwich and it was delicious. would recommend going here!
Surprisingly good lunch, fish and chips (substituted salad for fries) was lightly battered, crispy and flaky with light, fresh coleslaw. Friendly service. Chicken, bacon and cheddar sandwich was excellent.
Had some pints at the speckled hen. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere
I live this place and always make a point to stop in when traveling through Kingston.
Not bad. Can get busy
Its converted in rentals now
Good
On the day of confederation in 1867 a large crowd gathered nearby to celebrate and I am looking at a black and white photo of it. Just sayin.
Tir Nan Og is a pretty good value.
Very exspensive. And the coffee was cold and the water was warm. The staff was slow. And dont even get me started with the price of a alcohol drink. Way to expensive . Two out of the four chairs at our table were also broken we had to switch them with another table.
Went to Tirnanog for dinner. Excellent fish and chips. The burgers are definitely gourmet. Try it and enjoy.
Tir Nan Og pub is on 1st floor of this Gem. This pub is coming alive again with entertainment and fun activities. Only thing missing is, they need to bring back Open Mic. Would be great on a Sunday or Monday evening from 7-11pm. Rasmanpierre
I had the Salmon and leek pie for an early lunch, my dad had shepherds pie and Theresa was absolutely lovely trying to tempt me on the dessert
Beautiful building.
Really spooky looking/old fashion. I love it.

The Irish pub in this hotel is really nice with live music on the week-end.
Fav place to hang out in Kingston.
Great food and service
Great service. A tad on the pricey side but the atmosphere is fun
Nice hotel. Good rooms, good beds and correct buffet. Correct room and breakfast prices.
Tir Na Nog. They have Lagavulin 16. AND great burgers. nuff said.
Nice rooms and a great little pub
Really liked the interior, food, staff and service. In the heart of Kingston. Quick access to attractions like the cruise on the lake. Close to city parking. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would go again...
Fantastic meal! Steak & fries was perfect. Steak done perfectly (a lot of places dont do blue rare properly.)
Great place to meet with friends. Great selection of beer. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend for a drink before enjoying the town.
10/10 would recommend
Had drinks and dinner. Menu is pub style, and food was decent.
Great drinks and atmosphere
No longer a functioning hotel. The building now consists of condos on the upper floors and the Tir Nan Og pub and Haunted Walk Ticket Office on the main floor. Building remains a classic piece of Kingston architecture
No music, very bright with overhead lights. Not even great food. Not a great pub feel
Not hotel anymore it is a decent bar.
Very nice
We went for a social event. The location is fantastic. Staff courteous, and friendly.
Beautiful atmosphere and elegant dishes and great staff.
Great place
I only had a drink there
Great little bar, although service tends to be slow.
Great historic building, very friendly staff. Highly recommended
We waited almost an hour to get drinks and 1.5 hours for our food.
Let me tell you about the Prince George Hotel. This place is the damn answer. Im talkin liver-killing drinking, belt-busting food, and a hell of a seating selection. When it comes to service, this joint is the bees knees. Literally. Its sweet, sticky, and has a great mouth-feel.
This place is no longer a hotel...so dont try and book a room here! It once was a fully operating hotel, and legend has it that it was a headquarters for rum running during the American prohibition! The rooms have now been converted into apartments and are private residences, hence the no hotel thing. But it still has the main level which is a pub and restaurant. Very pretty building worthy of a visit and at the very least, a look into its history!
Went there at 9pm. Only two other guests there, waitress was nice and drinks were cold. It could use some updates though.
Food was fabulous, good deal on the pour of the day.
Nice patio.
not a hotel anymore
Great place, great bar! I came here for an LGBTQ event and had an excellent time. The bartender was so friendly and fun to chat with.
ate at the old speckled hen/tir na nog always a great place with fantastic staff and a friendly atmosphere to eat!
We went here for the haunted walk and it was very good!

Beautiful old historic place.
Charming and historic!

Three different restaurant/bars...all with a unique feel and experience but same great food and service
Good service!
Great pub.
Great location and very friendly staff
Ok
Some friends and I traveled to Kingston over the Easter weekend. We didnt stay at the Prince George Hotel but we did stop by for drinks. Good prices and selection.
We live in Kingston and have known The Prince George for the last 35 years. We had dinner there on the patio last Wednesday. I ordered butter chicken curry. It mightve been better labelled butter onion curry as there was virtually no chicken and a surplus of chunks of onion. Not much curry either. Terrible. My wife ordered fish and chips. The fish, what little there was of it, was undercooked and there was twice as much batter as there was fish. The french fries varied, Some were undercooked and almost raw and others were overcooked. We did not blame the waitress however we did express our dissatisfaction with the meal and there was no offer of replacement. Neither of us came close to eating half the meal.
Not a hotel, but has a great haunted walk :)
Prince George is not a hotel anymore. Bar downstairs, apartments upstairs.
Its a beautiful place to stay and meet up with friends in the heart of kingston. But as mentioned before - its no longer a hotel, but apartments.
