Relaxed Indian restaurant serving classic meals & cocktails in a contemporary setting.
This was my first visit to Flavours of India. It has a modern, comfortable décor. It was also not noisy, nice for old folks like me. The service was professional, though I never received the soup that I ordered. I did not ask for it again as the boiled rice and soya curry was plenty for me. The food I had was very good. Great spot. I would def recommend.
Our first visit and not our last. The staff was attentive and friendly. The dining are is very relaxed and clean. The food was amazing. Tasty with great portions and came out steaming hot. A great dinner that did not break the bank. We will be back for sure.
Really authentic Indian food, highly I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala if you can eat something spicy, the garlic Naan is also great
The food was delicious n aromatic. Lamb Rogan josh was the best i ever had. Definitely recommend to try this.
Love me some Indian food and this place did not disappoint. Every single part of our meal was delicious, big portion sizes and lovely people to boot. Can’t recommend it enough!
Tried for the first time, and have to say both the food and portion size were amazing! The Lamb Roganjosh stood out, as the meat was very tender… Overall absolutely great experience, will return soon!
Visited this place for dinner. The place is located at good location, just at the start of downtown. The ambiance is good and staff is really courteous. I tried paneer jaffarni and garlic naan. Food was not bad but I missed the wow factor. May be vegetarian is not their speciality. You can try out once.
We ordered a bit of everything, and it was all fantastic. The sheekh kebab was aromatic and perfectly cooked. The onion bhaji was hot and crunchy. The korma was saucy and sweet, the aloo gosht spiced well, and the chicken beautifully tender. Absolutely delicious.
This place is super underrated! I looooove this place always order from here !
Service very very late
We went there late at night when it was about to close . It was all empty . Vegetarian options: Mattar paneer Food : 2/5 |
very sigma skibidi slicers restaurant!! the food was BUSSIN and tasted like baby gronk in ohio rizzed up by livvy dune. the chicken tikka masala was very sigma skibidi and i loved it so much I EDGED!!!!!! this is a very ohio restaurant, would recommend! eiryana the rizzler signing OUT!!
Kashmiri chicken was devine!
My absolute favourite spot for Indian food in Kingston! Every dish is extremely flavourful and the service is warm and friendly!
- Curry was delicious and fairly priced - Restaraunt was clean - Service was fast and polite Would go again in the future.
Went here to dinner with friends and the food was absolutely delicious! Best onion badji I ve ever had and all the other dishes were superb. Service was excellent - 5 star
Food was delicious and service was great. Highly recommend.
Very good of all angles
Excellent food and service. We went here a few years ago and returned this April. The experience was the same - great food and service
I love Flavours of India. I have dined in and ordered takeout on numerous occasions. The staff has been delightful during every experience with this restaurant, and the food is exceptional. I wish I could eat here every day, especially the garlic naan.
I just had the most delicious meal from Flavours of India! My sister and I shared the Mixed Appetizers, Rogan Josh, and Garlic Naan. Every bite of the Rogan Josh was marvellous. The lamb was perfectly tender and my sister loved the cooked tomatoes. The owner was very kind as well, and my food was ready for me perfectly on time. I would definitely come back to Flavours of India, and I can t wait to try more menu items.
Ordered take out for the first time for a Mother s Day treat and it was absolutely delicious!
Great foods and great staffs. MUST try. Food
Do not get delivery from this place!! They use Door Dash, which added $25, yes $25, to our bill, with an $8.50 delivery fee and tax on the delivery and a tip for the restaurant and a tip for the driver and taxes on that. Absolutely ridiculous. Never again. The food was good.
Food was alright but never returning here again. I ordered a meal where I was then asked if I would like rice and bread. I said yes because I would assume in an Indian restaurant it would be provided without charge. Not only was the price not mentioned to me when offered, but i was charged $5 for rice and $5 for naan bread. The price alone for each item was ridiculously high and I am disappointed that a restaurant that looked so appealing left such a troublesome experience.
Food was drab without any flavors.
Service was very poor. Ordered one medium ans one spicy, and both same medium. Then tried to tell me that cant do anymore spicy. Asked for Chilli Garlic Naan and was told cant put Chilli but offered Chilli as side. No flexibility in spoce levelfor any dishs
We usually get the vegetarian meal for two. Not too spicy but lots of flavor
Based on my experience, I dont believe they have a good understanding of Indian cuisine or how to prepare it authentically. The dishes lacked the true flavors and techniques that define Indian food. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking genuine Indian cuisine. The flavors were off and did not reflect the traditional tastes of Indian dishes.
An enjoyable meal with some good Indian fusion dishes. Great service by Ishani
Food was wondering, staff was very nice. Would come back when in town.
First time trying this restaurant did not disappoint. Food was fantastic! Almost everything on the menu is gluten free. Service was so kind and helpful. The restaurant also has a very cozy atmosphere.
Very yummy food! I go here often and I m never disappointed. They serve decent portions and the price is reasonable. Very friendly service too. On my last visit they provided complimentary desert as there had been a minor mix up with our reservations. It was delicious. Vegetarian options: Lots
I ve been ordering from them pretty regularly ever since I moved to Kingston, six years ago. I ve tried many of their dishes, and I always add cucumber raita and peas pulao, and they ve all been wonderful and flavourful. The portions are a great size, the garlic naan is always warm, fresh and delicious. There are also many tasty vegetarian options. Note: I ve seen a few complaints about having to order rice on the side - I ve eaten at South Asian restaurants all over North America, and it s been a very common experience to order rice and extra dishes separately so I d ignore them.
Harun and his team are awesome..friendly service and totally awesome tasting food.ive never had Indian food before and his recommendations was awesome. Awesome food and great people..thank you Harun for introducing me to new and great food
This is truly one of the best dining experiences you will ever have in Kingston. The food is absolutely phenomenal! The service is perfect and respectful always. Atmosphere makes you feel so welcome, comfortable and you dont wanna leave. Whether I dine in or order take out Ive never been disappointed the food is absolutely delicious. Truly a hidden gem here in Kingston. Thank you! Flavors of India!!
Wow! The food here is delicious! Its definitely a spot I will return to. Order a variety of food and share with your family or friends so you get to experience it all. Great service! Vegetarian options: One of our group is vegan. She loved the cauliflower, curry chana, and rice. We all benefitted from these perfect sides.
Tasty, authentic Indian. Superb service.(we told them that we were in a bit of a hurry and the food came out very quickly and the service was very attentive) very reasonable prices. $75 for the three of us with three dishes with rice and two naans. Two thumbs up :-) Vegetarian options: We ate all vegetarian. There is a large vegetarian portion of the menu.
Awesome takeout in 20 mins! Food was hot and each dish easily served 2 people.
lovely hospitality and ambience near kingston waterfront and amazing food, it was so comforting to have taste of India just like home away from home. both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections of dishes was amazing and the host took utmost care of each and every personal request we made for such a large group of people 10. Vegetarian options: dal , sabzi , rice, mango chutney to go with papadum great flavours.
Usually order from Sabers. Decided to try flavors of India. The food is excellent. You will not be disappointed.
Amazing, clean, high quality food. The flavors were all distinct and so good. New fav place! Dietary restrictions: Dozens of gluten free options!
Butter chicken looks and tastes like curry chicken. $20 for butter chicken and doesnt even come with rice! Very disappointing.
Best curry Ive ever had! Our waiter Harun was amazing, so friendly and always smiling!! Well definitely be back!!
The food is absolutely spectacular. I have eaten the food from Flavours of India once a week (at least) for the last 4 months and it is amazing every time. When I moved to Kingston I was worried that I would not be able to find an Indian restaurant which rivals my favourites in other cities. I am extremely happy to have found Flavours of India. It is a must try in Kingston.
Ive been getting takeout from this place for the past 3 years. Their garlic naan is the best Ive had and Im obsessed with their chicken pathia. They give good portions for the price (plus theres a discount for students) and it usually lasts me 2-3 meals. Ive only gotten take out so I cant say much about their service, but Ive gotten food from here over a dozen times and their staff has always been friendly.
My roommates and I ordered takeout from here despite hearing from a friend that the food was bad (the biriyani in particular) but we decided to try it since every other Indian place in the area was closed. My saag paneer, which is supposed to be a paneer spinach curry, was essentially just chunks of spinach with paneer in it - completely bland, chunky, and inauthentic overall. We had to recook it adding our own ingredients to make it somewhat edible. My roommates disliked their orders as well. Would never order from here again despite living right next door. I now know to stick to namaste for good Indian food in Kingston.
Food and service was excellent
Their foods and services are second to none. This is the best Indian restaurant in the city.
The service and atmosphere are fine but the food is just ok. Ive ate at a handful of Indian restaurants around Kingston and they are all pretty much the same in that the kormas tend to be LOADED with sugar and a bit watery. Im guessing that the texture is a result of large amounts ofsugar being added. Im also assuming they are adding all that sugar to appease local tastes.
Great food at reasonable price. Order made in reasonable time as well. Most often do delivery with them and I live on the east end, food received under hour (food for 4). Workers are courteous on the phone. Even called back and delivered something that was missing from order, they want to make sure you are taken care of. Great restaurant, I definitely recommend
Literally unbelievable. Loved it.
Love the old school Indian vibe. Food was amazing. Service was good too!
Very good food. I love coming here when Im in Kingston Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
Ordered take-out & the food was delicious!
Sensitive stomach stomachs but a love of Indian cuisine brought us to this Indian restaurant. Great location and a pleasant but unpretentious setting. Very attentive and pleasant Server answered our questions and made good Food suggestions both as to appetizer and Meals. My Wife had delicious mild Butter Chicken and I went with Chicken Masada spicier but also delicious. The appetizers were Samozas/ never fails to amaze me how the Indian culture can make Vegetables and their Basnati Rice so tangy and appealing as healthy essentials to theeal. Two Thumbs Ups!
Always nice to eat at this restaurant. Very good dishes and pleasant and efficient service.
This seems to be a newly opened place in Kingston amongst many other ethnic restaurants. Interesting menu, well priced and pretty darned delicious.
Below average. Rajmah too dry. Biryani has no taste at all.
This Indian cuisine restaurant is among the top in canada when it comes to match the taste of what we indians like on plate Still far behind from the authentic indian food taste, but its good vibe and great service overcomes the shortcomings.
Every time I come here it gives me the same feeling as home, the staff is amazing the food is fantastic and the drinks are incredible. I highly highly recommend
Food quantity is very less. You have to order the curry twice to eat with 1 naan. So poor quantity
very disappointed
Everything is good. The food was top quality. I will be back for sure
This place has the WORST Indian food we have tasted in Canada. We ordered around 8 dishes(veg and non veg), and the best was water and onion. They should know just by putting a fancy drinking glass, you cannot call yourself a fine dine. Their roti was bigger than the large pizza you have at other restaurants. If you sick and missing hospital food served in India, you can come and eat their dal. They have a short term memory loss where the chef forgot to add any spices in dishes and irony is they have a board outside which says come and taste authentic taste of India. I am 100% sure, there is no one in the restaurant who understands how Indian food tastes. I would prefer to stay hungry than to eat here. Few things which we honestly felt after eating the food: -Their food was so bad that even Avengers with their superpower cannot improve it. - There should be a strike by all Indians for the closure of this restaurant to maintain our respect. - A visit to this restaurant should be added in every culinary course in Canada, on how not to make Indian food -Sanjeev Kapoor and Tarla Dalal will leave cooking after tasting food here.
Fast service, great food.
Bad taste and not worth the price. Not even taste like Indian dishes.
Worst food I ever ate in Kingston. Chicken samosa was very smelly, raw chicken smell was coming out of that. Chicken Tikka Masala was recommended by the Chef and it was so bad. I personally did not like it because the food made me sick since night. Food : 1/5
Excellent food, from the appetizer to dessert . The Vindaloo flavour was excellent and the spicy heat was perfect. Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian options
Amazing food, amazing service
Loved the curry.
I enjoyed the food, especially the butter chicken. Parking: It is situated on the backside of the restaurant; next to the restaurant door, there is a tiny area where you can go to the backside of the restaurant. Food : 4/5 |
The food was not as expected. It felt like not properly cooked. The spices were uncooked and it was nothing like the dish. We ordered bhuna chicken and paneer jalfrezy and both the gravies looked exactly the same. The bhuna chicken gravy is not suppose to be yellow. Disappointed and dissatisfied.
Went there for work dinner. They were open on Sunday and very accommodating for out large party. Food was great, did not get a chance to take pictures. Did not pay the bill I have no idea how much was it, probably about 30 to 40 per person. Worth the money. Service was great. Will be back again.
I will highly recommened this restaurant. Very good food and quantity with good prices. And best one as compared with other indian restaurant
Always excellent and some of the best Indian food I ve ever had!
Really good
Lets start with the good things about this place - our host was very courteous and made us feel welcome, its a nice setting in downtown. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that it masks anything good about this place. We came here on a day when we were really hungry after a lot of highway driving and usually when that happens even subpar food tastes better. right?. Not here though as the food cannot be qualified to be indian at all. No flavour or spice, meagre quantity, chicken tikka was so salty it was bitter, nothing tasted fresh. If you want to enjoy authentic indian food, avoid this place.
The ambience, atmosphere and service are amazing. The food is really good as well, however, sometimes I feel that some curries are a let down as they are too sweet. Holistically, they re a good choice for Indian food.
Clean establishment, friendly and professional wait staff . Food was reasonably priced and delicious ! Will go back .
I haven t had a bad experience here. The naan is always fresh and absolutely delicious, and they are quick to get your order ready. Highly recommend!
very fast service, employees r very polite quality and quantity is
The food was great and the place has a good atmosphere. This comment is especially for Jashan who had such a courteous smile and warm hospitality. His service is what made the experience fabulous!! Food
Best Indian food ever and best server Massoud Afsar
Amazing authentic food!
Great ambience. Moderate taste of Indian flavour. Dine is a good experience. Delivery boxes can be bigger in portions imo.
Tasty Indian food is found here .
Great place, very clean and well lit. Rogan Josh was excellent. Butter chicken was different from what Im used to but still tasty. Service was quick and friendly.
A friend of mine brought home some curry chicken and rice. After a hour in the bag the food was still warm and delicious.
Tasteless food and very slow service, we had to wait more than 25 minutes to get our ordered food
Loved the entire experience of dining here. Their breads are so close to the taste - naan, tandoori roti. The flavours are definitely toned down to suit the wider audience here, but nonetheless to be tried. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are widely available - from starters to main course.
Literally the best food in Kingston. The service is wonderful, the place is always clean. The food is so good it brings tears to my eyes, my whole family loves coming here.
I love love love this place. The service is always friendly and attentive. It has my vote for the best food in Kingston. I get something new every time I come in and I am constantly amazed
Very good meal, hearty dishes. Fast and friendly service
The best Indian food around! Delicious food, great value and amazing service. Locally owned small business with the kindest and most hospitable owner. Highly recommended. Flavours of India never disappoints :).
Had takeout a few times from here and its always delicious
Authentic Indian food! Most delicious!
I made this order few months back. Thought of reviewing so could be helpful for others. I ordered tandoori chicken from this restaurant. Chicken tasted good, nice flavour and was tender. There was enough quantity. But it tasted nowhere near a Tandoori chicken. The masala used to prepare was different even though it was cooked in tandoor. The only downside is the masala otherwise it was perfect.
I have been eating here for years. Kingston is lucky to have such a variety of restaurants. Ive noticed whether you get thai, chinese or indian, it is all relatively good (cant go wrong). However, in each category there is a clear winner. Flavours of India, for us, is that winner. The food is delicious, service is incredible. Good atmosphere and presentation. We have developed a relationship with the owners over time and just love this place. The reason why Im positing this review now after many years of being a customer, is Ive noticed no one is mentioning their Dhansak. Honestly, do yourself a favor and try their Dhansak. I getthe Lamb, but the curry is the same with whatever protein or just get veggie. This is hands down my favorite dish anywhere, for any type of food. Pair it with Garlic naan and Pulao rice.. Just yummy! I have enjoyed every dish Ive ever tried there, but I always crave my Lamb Dhansak. Perfect mix of sweet and spicy, but 100% delicious. Try it and thank me later.
Weve had takeout from here several times in the last few months. The food is always incredible. Very reasonable portions with tonnes of flavour. We often get onion bhaji and papadum with our meals and they are always crisp and warm even after the drive home. We love it here!
The food is super blessed, you can t go wrong at Flavours! The portions, quality, service and experience is excellent.
Very disappointed and could not eat it so most of the 4 dishes I ordered went into the garbage. Too spicy and oily. Presentation did make it appetizing. It was not what I expected for the price!
Excellent customer service! I just called to see if they could make any dishes vegan and they said that anything thats vegetarian they could be extra careful to make sure its vegan. The man on the phone was super kind and very detailed. Much appreciated :)
Special set dinner was phenomenal! Prompt and professional service.
Great workers, okay food (tandoori chicken slaps)
Nice food and good looking . But the thing of concern, they provide tissues Only if asked for.
Great food and service
The food is very very good. Vegetable samosa, onion bhaji, naan bread are all excellent in addition to the main dishes. We have returned many times because the quality is so good.
Good flavours food. Madras curry was too good
The ambience of thos place was nice, and everything was clean and hygienic. The food however was not that great. It was a bit bland to our liking, however, the portion sizes were generous.
Great sevice
Thanks for really fast service. Great taste and quantity.
Great food taste!!!!!
The best Indian place in Kingston beyond a doubt. The food and the ambience is great. Each of the dishes were delicious. Loved the chat with Harun. Strongly recommend for a dinner date or a casual hangout and everything in between.
Very tasty, staff was very polite and attentive
Wonderful food with a huge selection. Service was excellent and reasonably priced. The serving size was very good and enough for leftover lunch the next day. I would highly recommend this restaurant if youre looking for Indian food.
Delicious food, Bright and airy atmosphere, good service all made for a wonderful dinner. Particularly appreciated the many vegan and vegetarian options.
Authentic Indian food and amazing host. It was a pleasure visiting Flavours of India. Thanks for amazing food and service.
Food is good. A bit pricey. Please dont call a dish biryani if you dont cook it with basmati rice.
The food is fine, not too great. Good ambience and nice hospitality.
Been here many times, food always great! Very friendly people. The lamb Pathia is insanely good!!
Very oily food
Very clean and classy spot for indian fare. Loved the selection of breads available.
Great food! Good service
A few days ago, my friend and I visited this restaurant. I ordered a lamb dish and found hair in it. It was short, hard, and curled, absolutely not hair from the head. I hoped its from cooks beard rather than from other places. It was disgusting. I told the server; he immediately took away the plate and said to give us discount. I asked how much discount I could get, but he didnt answer. At last, we get a $4 discount! $2 per person! Wow, so much! He showed to be like, Thats a big discount. One star is for the naans. The Naans are tasty, but this event made me super uncomfortable.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant. The service was great. The food was even better.
The food was amazing. The service was quick. Best place for Indian food
Food is okay, service & prices are not.
Lovely Place, Well Decorated, food is amazing, Prices are fair. Will be back for sure. Food I had was incredibly spicy. But they have many different options. Will be back. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegan options listed Wheelchair accessibility: they have a lil ramp.
New to Kingston and this was a delivery order of lamb biryani, chicken tikka, kebab and naan. Flavourful dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Amazing place for tasty authentic dishes
The service is good but they took some time to prepare the food, i suppose the dishes are make by 0
Best Indian food in Kingston, great staff, child friendly, and a great location
Great presentation, great service, and delicious food. Very cozy environment. Highly recommended!!!
I came to Ali Baba kebab, knowing it serves best food, but unfortunately it is not the same exact in terms of interiors and food , hunger brought me to this nice restaurant that served us super tasty fresh hot food full of flavors. I & my family enjoyed it to our hearts content. I would strongly recommend it to individuals and families.
Stopped here for dinner after a day in Kingston. They were able to accomodate dietary restrictions. We each had curry and it was delicious. The service out front was very friendly and helpful.
Delicious food and great service!
Excellent food and service! I had the vindaloo Lamb ..simply amazing! Best Indian food in Kingston for sure!
10/10. I order dal and naan both stuffs were very delicious.
The food at this restaurant is amazing. The service is top notch, the food came quickly and the quality of all the dishes (both veg and non-veg) was top notch!
Amazing Food. Very hygienic and clean restaurant. Everything made fresh. Great Ambiance
The food is always amazing and the customer service is even better
Excellent fresh food and friendly service
Looking at the reviews, we had pretty good expectations, but the food was below par and the side dishes were too watery, we even complained about it and all they did was just reheat the dish further to remove the water instead of replacement. Services were good though, although it was pretty empty
We walked in into the restaurant in search of having beverage and snacks, but the time we entered and confirmed if they have specific tea. They said they serve that but when we tried to order, they said if you want only have tea and snacks you can walk out as restaurant is reserved. That s very ridiculous service. Someone walking in and getting this kind of words from server is very disappointing. Worst service. Not recommended.. rude behaviour.
A few of our friends have been recommending this place so we finally checked it out. Now Im sorry we waited so long. It was the best Indian food I have had for quite some time. The vegetable samosas, methi gosth and vegetable pathia were particular stand-outs, as was the naan. Definitely going back for repeat visits. Vegetarian options: As you would expect, there are lots of good vegetarian dishes on the menu.
Food was amazing served hot and good portions . Butter Chicken was perfect. Restaurant was really clean and washrooms were spotless. Waiters were pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be going back
It s a farce to call this Indian food. The butter chicken is absolutely not butter chicken. The first Indian restaurant I ve seen that makes you buy rice on the side with one of their curries. Rename the restaurant. There was nothing flavourful or Indian about this place.
The naan and tandoori chicken are really good. I also tried the brown rice and tandoori salmon, I think the salmon could have stronger flavour, but Im pretty biased when it comes to tandoori salmon.
My favourite Indian place in Kingston! Lots of great menu options, and the portions are all very reasonable. I would recommend dining in - the quality of the food is much higher than delivery.
The best Indian Food I have ever eaten. Quality and quantity of food is good. Very hygienic restaurant. Owner was so good at the hospitality. I would recommend this restaurant.
I went there along with my friends for a lunch after a tiring week. I had a wonderful experience at flavours of India. The food was amazing and very good hospitality. Loved it. Thanks for the amazing food
It s pretty average place
Very good
Great food and great service! The lunch specials are perfect.
Ridiculously good. Great people, great food, great atmosphere and, GREAT FOOD! The Dhansak is to die for! Vegetable Dhansak is unlike anything I ve had. Vegetarian options: Out of this world Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to all needs Parking: Parking is free for dinner Kid-friendliness: My kids. All three under 10 eat all non-spicy dishes
The atmosphere and staff are wonder but that s all they have going for this restaurant. The paneer tasted similar to tofu, bland, soggy, oily. The palak matar paneer was essentially just defrosted chopped spinach and peas covered in vegetable oil. I ve had better palak paneer from a $2.00 pre-made microwave meal from food basics. The mushroom Bhaji was just slightly cooked mushrooms in a turmeric sauce(?) dal don t even bother looking at it, tasted and looked like turmeric water with cilantro thrown in and lemon?? It was terrible the naan tasted and felt like the kind you get in a big package from Costco for $5. However, thank you for the amazing service, but the food was tragic. Vegetarian options: Better options other places
Delicious food!
I have visited this restaurant many times. The food is excellent and so is the service. The manager often comes to chat which gives it a homey atmosphere. The venue is spacious, clean and pleasant. I have introduced many friends to this place and they share my views of the quality of the food and physical space.
Good atmosphere but the butter chicken has a different taste and texture than I am used to. The platter option is good for a group. A bit pricy.
Good customer service with good food.
Not so tasty. Less portions. High price. Avoid this place.
Delicious food at a good price. Was surprised with how tasty it was. Keep it up!
Amazing restaurant with fantastic food and service. Would recommend and go again.
Pretty expensive for the portions and all the sauces were pretty similar with chicken beef lamb and fish... Ill try again in a couple months
Warm, welcoming. Fast and very courteous service. Delicious food, reasonable portions. Absolutely unmissable if you go to Kingston.
The food was delicious, excellent service. I would definitely go back.
I came here 7 months back and gave a 2star rating as the food was not good. Today I went back again with zero expectations but it turned out really well. I really loved the food that they served and the service was good too. So I m editing my old rating here.
Delicious food and good service.
it was awsm
Worse customer service
Great food and attentive service! Would definitely go back to eat again!
