Elaborate menu with flavours from North and South India. Chef Kumar's Signature Dishes Lobster Malai Curry, Reserve Angus Tenderloin Skewer Sea, Scallop Korma, Pomegranate Tandoori Chicken,Lamb rack etc. Excellent option for business meetings, group celebrations and private events.
This is an excellent spot for Indian food! I had the butter chicken with rice, and if you've never had the chicken lollipops, they're an absolute must-try--don't miss out! If you get the chance, I highly recommend trying their buffet as well!
We arrived just when they opened at 5 pm. Food was not hot probably due to water in pots heated by candles was not hot enough. Flavour was good but food was barely warm. They need steam tables. It would allow flavours to excel. Rule for food - hot food Hot cold food COLD. But what do I know? If all was hot it could have been a much better review!
I’ve always heard good things about Namaste Kingston, but unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed. While the food was satisfactory, the service was another story. The owner’s son, who was handling customer interactions, was incredibly rude and lacked basic customer service skills. His demeanor was unprofessional and did not reflect well on the restaurant. It’s a shame because this behavior detracts from the hard work that’s clearly been put into building the restaurant’s reputation. I hope the management addresses this issue soon to ensure the quality of service matches the quality of their food and ambience.
Was worried about this place after reading the reviews. We went for buffet lunch and at an affordable $20 each we thought it worth the risk. The food was excellent. Super flavourful and fresh. It's a small buffet, but everything was delicious. Naan bread is made to order and came to the table hot. Service was a little slow as there was only one person working the front. I would definitely go back again.
We visited Namaste Kingston on Sunday afternoon. We chose the patio table as the weather was great. There was no wait and our food was ready in 20 min. Service was prompt and Food was average in taste( Dum aloo, Daal fry, tandoori roti and Garlic naan). The location is awesome to enjoy summer afternoons in downtown Kingston.
I had high hopes from this place as it’s situated in a prime location in Kingston downtown. As soon as you enter, there is this eerie smell that puts you off immediately. It’s probably because of the old carpets. We could have left if we weren’t that hungry at the time. We ordered Aloo Kulcha, Chole, Raita, and Masala Dosa. Everything was average and the dosa was below average. The ambience isn’t that good too. As an Indian, I felt they could do better to do justice to our flavourful cuisine and amazing culture. I wonder if people from other ethnicities comment on the hygiene looking at this place because it really bothered us.
We didn’t had a good experience with them. Took so much time someone come and take the order even though there is no other customer were there. We had order Masala dosa and pomegranate tandoori chicken. We almost waited there for 1 hour to get the food. The masala dosa was not at all good. Dosa was ok but the potato masala inside it is not great but the pomegranate tandoori chicken was really great. Ambience inside the store was good.
Stopped e route to Montreal for dinner in Kingston and was pleasantly surprised by the food service and ambiance. Great taste flavours and freshly prepared dishes. They have vegan options. Each dish was so delicious that we landed licking the bowls. A must visit if in Kingston or passing through. Decent pricing and great staff. Loved it!
We arrived at 7 with a reservation and didnt get our food until after 8. Multiple items we ordered never came and the food was decent but not enough to make up for how understaffed they were. They should have turned people away given the lack of staff. Some of our items got delivered to another table but put on our bill. The server broke a glass on our table and just left it there, never cleaned it up. Quite honestly the worst experience Ive had to date at any restaurant. Ive never been inspired to write a bad review but this was beyond comprehension.
Food was good, service was completely lost. Waited about an hour, forgot my drink and naan bread. Any requests or orders had to be done yourself, not even water was being taken care of.
I would not recommend anyone to visit this restaurant. I have never had so bad food in my entire lifetime! I dont know how to cook, but I still assure you I can make food better than them today. I planned to go have some Indian food! Once I entered the restaurant, I was asked if i would like to have a buffet. I thought to give it a shot! They literally had no options for starters! They had this onion bhaji, but its a snack! I should tell them a difference between starters and a snack! Literally had no Panner Sabzi, I have been to multiple buffets, but I have never seen that happening. I had no clue about the naan(bread) until i had to go myself and ask the saff about it, in which i got a reply that it would be served on your table on order! I think i should have been informed this first or bothered to let me know on my table. Overall, the taste of items was thumbs down! If you are really hungry, craving for real indian food, this is not the place. I have a lot to say because I spend on something worthless! For sure, Im not visiting ever again in my life. Vegetarian options: Even if they have it, dont try!
3 years ago this was my review: Good value for price, very flavourful. Naan bread was soft, the butter chicken was savoury not sweet, which I really liked. Nothing bad to say about food, probably one of the best in town. I only gave 4 stars because I unfortunately am not able to rate customer service as its not eat in right now and I ordered through skip the dishes. Now: 2 weeks ago my husband and I went to dine in for the buffet for our wedding anniversary, it was a Friday night, I made a reservation for 5pm (when they opened). We got there a bit before 5pm and at like 5:05 the waitress came to open the door and told us they didnt open until 530pm. I looked on Google and it did say they open at 5pm and said I made a reservation just that afternoon. She let us in and said they didnt have a cook, and that we could wait inside (there were other people arriving around the same time). We asked to see the drink menu and said we would have a beverage while we waited. She said okay and brought the menu. By 5:40pm we ended up ordering our drinks from someone else that was working there, we still didnt get our drinks until almost 6pm.... food still hadnt come out yet, and looked like they were scrambling to get the cooks on?? She said that the cook was stuck in traffic... so, only 1 cook on for a Friday night?? We didnt get to eat food until about 6pm. Everything took so long to get. Service was terrible, the buffet wasnt getting refilled, I asked to order a different dessert than the galub jamun that was on the buffet, they said no. I went up to get galub jamun since that was all they said I could have and it hadnt been placed out. This was around 645 at this point and we had arrived for 5pm. We, and I overheard other tables, had to keep stopping the servers for stuff like Naan bread, because no one was coming around to check on anything. Didnt even get asked if we wanted another drink. There was no discount offered, no free drink offered. If I was the manager, I would have given a free beverage for having to wait so long for food.
Read on Reddit today that a customer got food poisoning from your restaurant. Wont see me there to eat .
The dinner buffet was a great value. Foods are cooked mild, which is great for my children but may not be spicy enough for you.
Food was good, good portions, but not timely. Staff were very friendly. No music on, so everyone s conversations around us were distracting.
Please teach your servers some manners .
Food is not worth and serves have no manners at all espesially the boy with glasses
We have had takeout from here several times, and always very good. We tried the buffet tonight and the food was tasty, and the variety was good but the restaurant was mostly empty and the service was at a snails pace at best. 30ish minutes for naan bread alone, hard to get a beverage. Will try again and hopefully can give a much better review.
Worst place and worst food with worst people
Namaste was the first restaurant I went to upon moving to Kingston two years ago. I have brought numerous people there - all of whom loved it! Unfortunately, when going on Saturday, September 28th, the experience was less than ideal. Although the food from the buffet was still flavourful, it was cold. Additionally, tables were left dirty (dirty plates and tablecloths), there were not additional plates (if you wanted to go up for seconds), our naan order was forgotten, and our glasses of water were not refilled. Though I dont know the full story, the restaurant was not busy at all. Hoping it was a one off as it has been one of my favourite restaurants in the city.
Worst Indian place!
Delicious Indian buffet. They even have a gluten free naan option which is nice to see. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
We enjoyed a really dinner. Excellent food. Big menu with lots of options. We had pakora appetizer, chicken tikki marsala and chicken shah korma with Naan. If you enjoy Indian food give this place a try you will not be disappointed!
Worst food, serving frozen foods
Indeed this was a nicer restaurant before but now the food they serve is all leftovers from last week I guess. Recently been to this place for all you can eat lunch with my wife. Observation: 1. As soon as I enter I can sense a very foul smell as if someone peed in there 2. Naan was very dry and hard as a rock 3. Paneer in the gravy was soaked as if it was in there for a week 4. Malabar chicken was disgusting and smelled like it was cooked two weeks ago 4. Hot served gulab jamoon had a huge piece of cardboard inside it The funny this is that when I mentioned all these things to owner he just said that the gulab jamoon was store bought (although it was served hot) and he has no control over it. I ended up paying the whole bill with tips and left the place unsatisfied. Kindly go to this place of u want a similar experience
We have seen their commercial on tv and decided to give them a visit We decided to get the buffet dinner and it was a complete disappointment some labels were in the wrong spot. The tandoori chicken was not anything like tandoori chicken; it was just fried chicken wings with some kind of bread coating. There was no any appetizer, or papadam and no any beef dishes. The temperature in the restaurant was kind of warm the door was open and I don t think the AC was running. There were flies and fruit flies where we were sitting and the chair and the carpet did not look clean. I asked for water with my meal, it was just at room temperature, served right from tap. Sorry but we will not be going back to this restaurant.
Not at all a good experience!! The food was delayed even though there was no rush hours also the food quality and taste was zero, everything we ordered had something wrong with it. One of the dish was very salty and on the other hand, some dishes didn t had spices and didn t had good taste. It was completely waste of money and time!
Very bad experience ever. Very bad customer service and bad food i ever tried. We ordered chicken biryani and guess what the chicken wasn t cooked properly and the rice is also not good. Never going to visit there ever again. The staff made faces whenever we asked for anything. Such a terrible place. I would never recommend to anyone to go there, not only you waste your money, you will also feel worthless.
Namaste Kingston has truly exceeded our expectations! The warm welcome from Akash and Pallavi made us feel like family from the moment we stepped in. Their exceptional hospitality was only matched by the incredible food. The Paneer Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, the Mix Veg was a delightful medley of flavors, and the Veg Biryani was fragrant and satisfying. Every dish was a culinary masterpiece! The service was impeccable prompt, attentive, and with genuine smiles. They even provided excellent recommendations to enhance our dining experience. We can t wait to return and explore more of your delicious menu. Thank you, Namaste Kingston, for an unforgettable evening! #NamasteKingston #IndianCuisine #KingstonEats #AmazingService
Place was quite and empty and was kinda dirty, flies and others insects were there and found hair in the food!
All they serve is lousy service and terrible food! That s all there is to it!
Never visiting here again. Craved for a chai. Ordered and waited for 20 Minutes just to receive something that s not even closer to chai.
Twice in a row they didnt have the food/beverage available because of supply issues and both times the restaurant was empty. Waited almost an hour for our beverage and only half of us recieved them.
The meal was beautifully prepared. From the welcome, to the seating, to the dining and service the table, we appreciated being able to come here. Puneeta provided excellent service!
I have Masala Dosa and chai for lunch.i waited long and there is only a table of six. My meal arrived, nice and warm but no utensil and have to wave the waitress. The Dosa was pretty good so as the condiments. This is only Indian Restaurant in Kingston serving Southern Indian Cuisine ie Dosa. I would come again if not to wait three quarters hours for light lunch especially in prime location
The food is excellent despite the slow service we enjoyed ourselves
Too busy
They don t treat their customer good, we need to wait for 1 hr to get our food. And taste of food is not at all good. Worst treatment from restaurant
Im deeply disappointed with my recent visit to Namaste Kingston. Once my favorite spot for dosa and Indian-Chinese cuisine, it has let me down badly 2 times for now . We drove 1.5 hours for their dosa, only to wait another 1.5 hours at a half-empty restaurant. The chai was cold and tasteless. Worst of all, after the long wait ( 1.5 hours) , we were told they couldnt make the dosa due to cooking issues. This isnt the first time theyve had problems with dosa orders. Its especially frustrating as Id convinced a loyal friend to come. While they still serve other good dishes, Im hesitant to return for dosa. Its sad to see a once-reliable favorite decline so much in quality and service. Please work on this situation and happy to give it one more try again soon ! #LoyalCustomer
Strictly not recommended if you are looking for quality Indian food in Kingston. The restaurant itself smells musty probably because of the old carpet. The curries we ordered were all below par, overly sweet and missing salt. The order took about 30 mins to arrive and sadly to say, was not worth the wait.
Delicious butter chicken. Naan to die for. Adequate wine list. Shrimp not so hot. Small. Not top quality shrimp.
The quality of the food holds its own next to any place between here and the GTA. My wife and I always make sure to get the samosas to start. They are made fresh to order and you can really tell the difference. Perfectly seasoned, always delicious. Its a big menu, so we havent tried everything. The Indochinese dishes are especially great. Naan is great. Dosa could be better, as weve gotten ones that does not stay crispy or collapses on itself. The service is usually a miss. Even when the place is empty, the staff are not attentive enough and will not make sure everything is fine unless you make it. A bit disappointing at this price point. We have often visited and noticed the music playing a bit too loud for a fine dining atmosphere. Minor complaint. If you can live with below-average service, and about avg. setting, this place will impress you with the food. Kudos to the chef! Vegetarian options: Place has vegetarian options as expected from any Indian place, but it could add more entrées.
I m vegetarian and keep coming back for their samosas and Punjabi Chole! The portions are generous.
We wait like for 45 minutes for just one dosa and after that they said it will take more 20 minutes and we got frustrated and leave store after spend Our one hour without eating anything, worst store ever
Im punjabi and I think this place is awesome. Ive also been to many of the high rated indian places in Vancouver area and namaste in my opinion still comes out on top. A true gem in kingston!
I felt compelled to write this review due to the number of 1 star reviews on Google I have gotten takeout from Namaste Kingston (downtown) 4 - 5 times and have always enjoyed the food! In fact, it s my go-to Indian restaurant in Kingston. I find the service to be prompt and courteous, the portions are decently sized and there are lots of different tasty dishes to choose from. I highly recommend giving it a try and seeing for yourself! I think some of the more negative reviews may be a tad disingenuous! Vegetarian options: There s a vegetarian section on the menu with lots of options! Dietary restrictions: They have always accommodated requests for vegan dishes.
Very dirty glasses, floors, tables. Gross!
Great food and wonderful service. A great food experience.
My wife and I had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to try it for our anniversary. What a disappointment. The hottest day of the year and they had not turned on the air conditioning. I ordered a rye and ginger. Rye came with a can of diet ginger ale, when I asked the server if they had regular ginger ale, I was told they didnt have any. Water with dinner was room temperature with no ice. The server must have just started and had no clue what she was doing. We will not be going back.
Worst customer service on top of their food quality. Rest you guys decide.
Ordered grilled chicken - very poor quality chicken was given!
We have eaten at all the Indian establishments in Kingston I have to say as far as service and food this was most disappointing. Not once where we asked about the food, our order of appetizer came out late and the main course followed immediately after this. The flavours were mediocre at best in the beef X dish and not at all flavourful. The nam bread was not made well and the shrimps in the biryani were over cooked, again not flavour infused. We would not go back.
Been to all the Indian restaurant in Kingston, usually food had been served with 10-15 min even at peak time and They took almost 1 hour and then they brought main course with starters, no doubt taste is good but waiting 1 hour for 2 dishes is the worst, only come if you have an entire day.
This place is disgusting, I dont know how people go there to eat we were in kingston this weekend and during walk we thought to try this restaurant and whole restaurant smelt like there is rats in there, and then we saw a rat arround the kitchen area the food was so gross. Unfortunately we had to order something cause we were already sitted had no choice to leave, we didnt eat the food left it liked that and no one asked what happened or is there something wrong with food they just took the payment ( its not that we hate restaurant or owner the review is from our own experience)
Great quality and authentic Indian food! Their naan is always fresh and tasty. The environment and staff are also wonderful.
When you enter, you are welcomed by an awful smell, possibly from the carpet and food It doesnt justify the money you spend, and on top of that, you have to wait for 1 hour or more whenever you place an order. I understand that it takes time to cook, but seriously, they take an excessively long time.
Certainly. Namaste Kingdoms incompetence reaches astounding levels when it comes to basic customer requests. Despite customers explicitly asking for utensils, the restaurant consistently fails to provide them, even when reminded through special notes in the order. This shows a severe lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer satisfaction. Moreover, the quality of the food served at Namaste Kingdom is abysmal. Dishes lack any depth of flavor or authenticity, leaving patrons feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Considering the exorbitant prices they charge, one would expect a far superior dining experience. However, the reality falls far short of even the lowest expectations. In summary, Namaste Kingdoms failure to fulfill basic customer requests coupled with the dismal quality of their food make it a place not worth visiting. Customers would be better off spending their hard-earned money elsewhere for a more enjoyable dining experience.
Meh, service and food are sub par. I ve had 10/10 Indian food before (Grain of Salt, Cambridge ON) and this is not it. The flavours are bland and very surface level, the chicken was very dry, even covered in sauce. The service staff were not on top of things. Waters were empty, plates were piling up on the table. I know what is attainable for Indian food, so I was disappointed by this place. I suppose there s a reason the buffet is $20.
Food was ok, just do not expect Indian food if you go there. I assumed the recepies were Canadian style Indian food ... My concern though is about the places hygiene... I went there with my kids and the entire place smells like a toilet, Not joking! .... Very old building and doesnt matter where you sit, you can smell the washroom all over the dining area. We couldnt finish the food we ordered and we asked for takeout containers to just get out of there.... Poor employees working there.
Excellent food and service. Suraj went out of his way to cater a lovely lunch for 100 people at his restaurant in honour of my father and did not disappoint! Highly recommend this place to those looking for authentic Indian food with a bit of a twist.
Hi, I ordered from your restaurant on Jan 20 via Uber Eats (Order # CD0FD). I got butter chicken and garlic Naan. I suspect there was a food quality issue with my order. The food didnt stay down, and I threw up, leaving me in pain for a few hours. Ive had Indian food before, just not from your store. I dont have food allergies, so thats a non-issue. Im sharing this in case other customers report similar issues from yesterday. Im not one to complain to receive a credit or refund. Im sharing in case theres others who report similar issues in case this is an isolated issue. Ive always heard positive things about this restaurant, unfortunately this wasnt my case. Thank you I tried emailing your business, and a week later, there was no answer.
The food was delicious thanks namaste for a great meal the service was outstanding and fast. The food was outstanding and delicious Thanks for everything Namaste Food : 5/5
We went last night for the greatly advertised buffet only to be told there was no buffet tonight and they do that when they want! Service was slow and minimal. Had to chase someone down after waiting 20 minutes to get our naan and 1 meal we were missing. Once we got the food it was decent. They need to update their offerings and advertising if the buffet isnt really a daily offering. Also need to work on customer service and coordination with the kitchen. Once they get that tuned up we will be back but not until.
Fabulous food. Flavours were just lovely. Can unhesitatingly recommend.
I m not sure if Sunday night is just an off night But we waited almost 20 minutes after sitting down Before being asked for drinks We were there over an hour, and no one at the table Was asked if they wanted a second drink. We were billed for items we didn t order and never received some of the things that we did order. I ve had a couple of good experiences here in the past, but there are so many other options in Kingston and it was so horribly bad this time that it s highly unlikely, I will ever return or recommend to anyone
Ordered butter chicken for delivery on Uber eats. 10/10 on flavour and portion size. Hands down the best butter chicken we ve ever eaten. Got the butter naan as well! All the food was super hot and fresh when we got it. Will absolutely be returning.
I had the pleasure of enjoying two of their chicken biryani dishes, along with Chicken 65. The biryani was notably satisfying, offering a generous portion of chicken in every bite, which is a commendable aspect of their preparation. While the Chicken 65 deviated from its traditionally dry version, I found the gravy adaptation to be quite delightful, adding a unique twist to the dish. Also you do get raita with your biryanis. The service was exceptional, and it was reassuring to confirm through a direct inquiry that their food is Halal, catering to a wider range of dietary preferences. Parking: Roadside parking
Superb delicious food..
It was good , sevice was also good , food was the best , but Quantity was bit less
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Kingston. They have a large variety of options (in virtually any category whetever were talking about desserts, drinks, first courses etc) and ingredients, making it a good fit for people with allergies. The waiters were very polite and helpful and the overall atmosphere is very dynamic and pleasant
My father recently passed away in November and we needed to host a lunch for about 100 people. Hard to find an Indian restaurant in Kingston that could accommodate but Namaste came through! Lovely restaurant that is very open space. The owner was quite helpful and let us tailor our menu to the way dad would want. Food also wasn t too spicy as my two younger kids ate it. Food was really good too even the dessert (gulab jamon)! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Byrani and palak paneer were fantastic. Good job serving our group of 12! Vegetarian options: Most dishes seem to be customizable for protein choice Food : 5/5 |
My fiancé and I always make sure to stop at Namaste when we come to visit the in-laws in Kingston. The food is delicious, super authentic and flavourful, better than any Indian food we have been able to get in Toronto. I would highly recommend! Service and ambience are great too, I love spicy curries but don t always want a vindaloo, and they are always happy to make a mild curry spicy for me. Don t miss this Kingston gem!
I opted for buffet and no one asked me for bread and any assistance. I paid 30$ only for rice and curry which was not worth more than 10$. Very bad experience. Food
Had the buffet, and it seems really good options of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes.
The worst Manchurian and veg noodles i have ever tried, Manchurian balls was not properly cooked, raw from inside as shown in picture. Too expensive and not worth as we got our food.
Very limited items on weekend lunch buffet for the price. Overpriced. There is only one appetizer and one dessert. Buffets in the Ottawa region offer four times more menu items for the same price. Vegetarian items were delicious, but non-veg items were sub-standard. From many other reviews on Google, I see that Kingstonians are big fans of their butter chicken. This is probably because most never got a chance to taste authentic butter chicken. The problem I noticed was the big chunks of chickens with not enough marination. The flavour did not soak in the meat. Even the chicken korma had the same issue. There was no goat or lamb meat preparation, The chef there needs some training on non-veg cooking for sure.
Really good Shahi paneer.
The food was hot, not too spicy and served by a friendly staff.
1. Food Below average ( specifically do not waste time on poor quality buffet) 2. Service is worst 3. Never order Dosa, wait is never ending 4. Still want to try , good luck 5. Try chingari chicken kabab & amritsari fish, those were better.
The food was delicious and service was good. The unfortunate part with our evening was that the restaurant was very cold. The cold temperatures made for an unpleasant atmosphere during dinner. Food : 5/5
Had an excellent dinner at this place we stumbled onto during our visit to Kingston Waterfront. Authentic experience regarding servers, cutlery, decor. Food was delicious with things tasting as they had been described in the menu and customized to perfection as requested. If you want to try great Indian dining in Kingston, definitely recommend Namaste Kingston. Names cute too, named after a movie I love. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian delicious options Kid-friendliness: Yes. They were tolerant of kids antics and had high-chairs as needed.
Great food, but a little disappointed in the Biryani...Food was really good and the service very friendly!
Being an indian, i was so excited to try something indian food in kingston for the first time. And all thanks to Namaste downtown , you guys spoiled our night. We ordered manchurian but in return we got BURNT MANCHURIAN WITH SALTY GRAVY. And it was not schezwan fried rice it was nasty fried rice. Dont waste your money here. They just know how to decorate the table but dont know how too cook food.
No greet by the girl who take my order. No manners. Not recommended for takeout at Westend location.
Food was not spicy as i told them while ordering. Vegetarian options: No more options for vegetarians. Food : 1/5 |
Really disappointed with this place, the food was tasteless and the customer service was worse. The dish which we ordered had a hair in it, we asked the guy to take it back but he didn t even listen to our complaint properly and never apologized for it, he bought it back in a minute and slammed it on our table. The prices are so high and there quality is so low. Never ever going back to this place again!
A very solid Indian restaurant with reasonable prices. Food was very well done, and the house cocktail was quite impressive. Recommended.
Took alot longer for one person to get their meal. But they were attentive. Great food. Good portion, had left over to tke home. The GF naan garlic bread was great! Their tv commercial made us think of going. It was very worth it. Supper on an early Thursday evening.
Over the past one year, on many occasions they do not have South Indian food available from their menu item. Maybe it is a good time to remove it from the menu. Vegetarian options: Great taste
It was not the same experience as that of May. Food was served slowly. One of the vegetables was very salty. Vegetarian options: Has veg options. Kid-friendliness: Yes.
We wasted our time!!! We have order, we wait more than one hour! After 30 min they bring one dish (photo), an hour later we made a scandal and only after that after 5 minutes they brought the whole order! Naturally, the first dish has already cooled down.
0 for service.. average food and not sure it is weekend it just all worst. Might be weekdays better I don t know. The chicken wasn t cooked well too. Just waste of money and time. All the prices are jacked up.
Food was ok and the service was not good at all. It took more than 20 minutes for our small order. Missi Roti was bad after long wait and gave half roti. Also the chef sent a message that it was full size which was so disappointing. Giving 3 star only for the girl who attended us as she was very polite.
Bad behavior of the waiter, he just ignored us while speaking to him. We waited 15 minutes to have our drinks and too forever
Great experence
Wow wow! It was exceptional! Best Indian restaurant!! We had the chicken korma, lamb madras, Xacuti vegetable and garlic naan. To finish a mango lassi! Everything was delicious!!! We highly recommend.
The Curry was Superb
Utterly disappointed! Being an Indian, I was super excited to try out this fine dine food and was left with a huge bill and 0% satisfaction. Absolutely not worth the money or any rating. Eventhough it offers a wide array of menu options the taste and food quality is pretty low. The taste is contradictory to the description of the item. Example- Ordered chicken lollipop- it s supposed to be served dry with some schezwan sauce. Instead- it tasted and was presented as chicken Manchurian. It had a pungent taste and smell. Same for a chicken based curry. Overall, the salt was way too low, below acceptable levels. Drink- we ordered the mango mojito. It tastes like mango flavored jaljeera. Which is fine. But had 0 hint of alcohol. How is that a cocktail? Ambience- not enough lighting for the outdoor setting. The indoor had a strong lingering smell and so we decided to sit outdoors. For being a fine dine restaurant there s nothing fine about it. Our plates and silverware were not even laid out and took forever to be set up. Also, way too many mosquitoes ruined the outdoor experience. Service: The drinks took way more than 25 mins to be served. The place barely had 3 tables occupied! The appetizer and food came in at the same time that too after about 40mins. Worst service! Absolutely not worth $100 for 2 people (2 cocktails, 1 appetizer, 1 desert, 1 bread)
Amazing ambiance. Awesome service. Really good north indian food!
We went here for the second time, this experience was totally opposite from our first visit honestly, we drove from Montreal and were so hungry rather than going anywhere we chose to come back here but we were left very disappointed with the food and service both. Bill was high and there was 0% satisfaction. My mom complaint about the uncooked lamb and the waitress told that we should have informed earlier, instead of being sorry she pointed it as our mistake. My mom was really very upset with the food since it all cost us almost $100 and it wasn t worth at all this time. She would now never prefer to visit here and would not even recommend this place at all. The management really needs to on the quality and quantity both.
Such an amazing service, one of the most grand restaurants which is representing cultural richness in itself. In everything I experienced:- Food, place, service is very good. Infact I think they should offer and add some music bands, and heritage exhibitions.
Good Indian food, service was good but they mixed our orders as we were more than three families and we all ordered separately but the mixed some orders that I didnt like. Parking is a hassle too.
Very very slow service its change my happiness to sadness about indian food do work on this
Disappointed service and we waited alot for food.
The restaurant were spacious and spotless and hygienic with great decor. Food delicious and exactly what i was looking for having a huge variety of options . I really enjoyed the atmosphere as staff were very attentive to ensure that we were comfortable with quality services. I will definitely come back again soon. Thank you Namaste Kingston.
Very delicious food, atmosphere is amazing & the best thing which I feel that staff are very friendly & cooperative..
It was good food...i will happy to go again and again
All is good quality

Beautiful experience this hotel and good stuff....
Will definitely eat here again. Food was hot and delicious. We sat on the patio and enjoy the atmosphere. Thanks for a great meal.
Friendly and courteous staff. Food is out of this world!!!
Excellent
Great food and the service was quick and good. Vegetarian options: As with all Indian food it is easy to get a very good meal that is vegan and gluten-free. Dietary restrictions: It is easy to eat gluten-free here. They even have gluten free naan
Excellent food and generous quantity. The food was ordered for 20 persons for takeout.
Great place to eat. Dont miss it if you are visiting Kingston
Arguably the best Indian restaurant in kingston. Great quality food and the service is always great. I really like the location as well, as it s close to the lake and downtown.
The food was below average compared to other Indian restaurants we tried. But it s really close to the downtown area so easily accessible. Good staff and ambiance. You can go there if you want Indian food only and there are no other options in your plan.
Amazing food, so scrumptious. He had good time there visited during busy Aug long weekend.
Today, my family and I had the worst experience at this restaurant. There were four of us, including a seven year old kid, and the owners behavior was terrible. We called ahead to book seating, arrived on time, and informed one of the server that the two of us wanted the buffet while the others wanted to order different dishes. The server accepted our order, but the owner intervened and said he didnt know about our restaurant policy because he is a new employee and told us that everyone had to opt for the buffet or else order other dishes separately. It felt like he wanted to impose his preferences on us. We should be able to decide what to eat? He even wanted to know the age of our nephew when we told him that shes not eating anything. Why? Our pregnant sister and seven year old nephew couldnt have a $24+tax buffet. Thats why we wanted to have something else for them. The buffet had only one chicken & one mutton dishes as non vegetarian option. The food was average, and the owner constantly hovered around our table, hesitating to refill the non-veg dishes. To make matters worse, we learned that the owner was taking all the tips received through cards. We paid the server directly in cash instead. We definitely wont visit this Indian restaurant again. Good service can bring customers back, even if the food isnt outstanding, but this place is an exception. Response from the owner 2 hours ago: But you have fed the kid from buffet (I am documenting his response for future reviewers, as I am certain that the owner will delete it sooner or later.) Here is my reply to your response: Wow, this clearly displays your base minded patronizing mentality. Yes, my brother gave his daughter a Gulab Jamun from his dessert. She didnt eat anything else from the buffet. Man...shes just seven years old kid! When you were that age, didnt your mother feed you that way? If you observed this, why didnt you account for it in the final bill? Send me the payment link for that single GULAB JAMUN and Ill settle it. In total we paid around 110$ for the total meal.
Right in the heart of Kingston downtown serving good Indian food. Place is always packed. They have outdoor seating as well. Guest welcoming was great giving options for seating. Food - portions was sufficient and tasty. Ordered gobi kaju medium spicy. Kids enjoyed it Service - was OK. But delayed serving masala dosa! Ambience - very good outside Value for money - bit expensive comparatively however given the location and limited option, I would say its OK. Drink - House margarita wasnt to the expectations! Overall our first visit was good and happy with the food and service.
Great ambience and guest experience
Great taste. The service just needs a little improvement.
We and two other couples went in to check out this restaurant for an upcoming gathering of about 20 people. If you know what you are ordering, it s probably no problem, but more difficult if you are unfamiliar with the cuisine. There was communication problems within the staff; one person took our order, and a different person delivered it. When the order was wrong, we were too inexperienced to know, until we questioned why similar desserts that were ordered looked different. An error had been made by staff, but no attempt was made to correct it. We ultimately decided to book another restaurant for our gathering.
Very Disappointing experience Myself along with my family visited this restaurant, food is average. Management is treating customers very badly, especially the owner/ manager a man who is supervising the things.
Very Disappointed. Not suggested!
We arrived late likely the last of the lunch hour. A luncheon buffet with chicken, mutton and vegetarian options and included Naan. A full tummy and only $25. Well be back
Food is ok but not outstanding nor very spicy
Food was good and service was fine. I had a pleasant dinner with my family at Namaste Kingston
Horrible experience! There was hair in the onion salad! Not sure whats the hygiene standards of this restaurant. Food : 1/5
Ive always enjoyed my food from Namaste. Ive only ever had takeout, and Ive been really happy with it. Sometimes Im a little disappointed in how much meat comes in the dish, because it seems to be a lot of sauce and not a ton of meat. Ive had their chicken korma, butter chicken, shrimp madras, beef curry, chicken vindaloo and regular naan. I loved everything. Their chicken korma is literally drool worthy. Its super good. Keep in mind its not cheap. Ive never ate in so I cannot comment on the service.
Visited this restaurant last weekend. Food was good but staff was rude. Request management to train the staff as per Canada hospitality standards.
Was looking a spot for indian food some one recommended us this place. Atmosphere was calming food for nice. Akash and prabh were the best helped us with the food and made ours experience best. Must visit spot
The food was milder in flavor than we expected, which surprised us, but we still enjoyed it. We would return, but also plan to explore other Indian restaurants in the area first. The service was acceptable. Not bad in any way, but also not memorable. The atmosphere was like the service. Not bad, but not memorable. One thing that I really liked was, besides being a bit bland, the food was not loaded with sugar as often is the case when it comes to Indian restaurants in Kingston.
Good place to eat , one of best place in Kingston. Malai chap is one of best I tried so far and vandaloo wasn t as spicy best with naan reminded me Mumbai prawn curry.
Bad Food....Dont know how to cook Asked for a manager....didnt help us Customer service is awful. Sent us Raw uncooked naan after taking like forever. Food : 1/5
Was happy to see that there was a buffet. All good choices, good quality. Only thing to recommend would be to serve it a bit hotter in temperature. Servers were lovely. Was stuffed afterwards. Clean and nice place for dinner.
Rude server. 7 of us at table. We were told that all of us must chose buffet or none of us. Could not mix and match buffet and a la carte. Forgot drinks for 2 of pur group. Made to feel like we were difficult. Did not enjoy my evening out.
We had the buffet and although all the curries were very tasty everything was lukewarm, which made it hard to enjoy. The chicken in the butter chicken was not very tender. The naan however was made to order and was absolutely delicious!
Worst Dahi-bhalla..,Dnt Try
Beautiful atmosphere..... the buffet was amazing....thanks so much :)
Busy place
Good place to visit
Good experience.teste food.
Should improve food quality
Always Amazing experience
Never order a take out from this place..they cheat on quantity of the to go order. My order was billed for 3 tandoori rotis and a vindaloo ,however i just got only one of the rotis in the package they gave me ..
Tried the new buffet. It was a great way to try a little of everything for a full experience. Service was impacable. Only that would make our experience better is a bit more space for privacy between tables. More a cafeteria feel.
Consistently gas.
Today i got deliverey from Namaste kingston, such a really bad staff in namaste kingston. I was waiting over there atound 5 minutes. Nobody treat me , everyone just womdering here and there. After sometime the guy came and i asked what about my delivery. And he said five minutes more. Are you serious guy, why we will wait 20 minutes for just one food. If u don t have time to make it don t accept it. This same thing happened with me twice.
Visited Namaste yesterday Oct 15 and was very excited to enjoy an upscale Indian restaurant. We ordered 3 dishes and 2 of the 3 were fairly good. However the portions are very unpredictable. The Nihari which is fairly high priced does not even come with Naan and barely enough to feed one person. Also for a Nihari connoisseur it was far from being a Nihari and more of a Lamb shank curry. The chicken Tika was probably the best dish we ordered. However the beef biryani May have been taken from the fridge into a hot pot and our table. It arrived cold and the meat was not even room temperature at the best. Although it was not a busy evening with lots of staff it was impossible to get anyones attention. Secondly we did not even know who was serving us as we did not see the same person twice from the time we placed the order to the second of our food. Only when the water server came could we express our concern. Even the. It took 5 mins for the manager to show up whose response was we do not use frozen meat for our foods. If an Indian restaurant is going to claim to be high end and charge premium pricing they need to ensure that the food and service reflects that. Would consider twice before going back.
Ordered samosa chaat. Thats the worst i have ever in canada. No chutney too much salt stale samosas. Will never recommend this food place.
The food we got was delicious and great value! We had the vegetarian appetizer platter and the panner tikka masala with some garlic naan. It was fantastic and great leftovers the day after too! Vegetarian options: Very happy with the veg options.
Overpriced vs. service and food quantity.
Its very good
Very good service
Very good staff and food i love it
I am octapus it was great when I visited in namastey thanks guys
Under cooked chicken and no taste
This restaurant was very dismissive to us while we were seated. They made us feel guilty for entering with our baby daughter (sleeping). They seated us beside the dish rack (loud). Service was cold, slow and incomplete. We were not asked about soft drinks or told about the buffet etiquette. We were not brought our naan bread for 15 minutes into buffet service. Naan was cold. During buffet service, of only 8 items, butter chicken (one of three meats), ran out of chicken and was not replenished. My husband ate one plate and had had enough and requested the bill for us to leave. Servers did not ask why the haste. We will not be coming back and will advise all our many friends and family to not. Be cautious
Wait staff training is where it would greatly be needed. Staff are very shy and seldom check in on tables.
We took the buffet. Food was lukewarm. Waiter was alone so our drinks arrived after we ate. Food was delicious. Food
Vegetarian options: Non Food
Vegetarian options: Spices Food
Five stars all the way! The ambiance is cozy, the menu offers a great variety, and the food surpassed all expectations. Our server was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. A top-notch restaurant that Ill definitely revisit.
It is very useful website.
Please bring the food faster, we here to eat not to take a nap
Cold buffet. Reached 8 pm.buffet was cold. Employees were shocked to see us . Dont go there l.
Thought I would try Namaste again, this time by take-out. First, I couldnt order online because the app wouldnt accept any credit cards. Took at least 30 minutes to place the order and finally I had to call them in person after they opened. When picking up, they didnt have any record of my order (despite that it was over $300). Then I have to say that I would not recommend the somosas (no better than packaged ones at Costco) or the Namaste Veggie Platter which, to be blunt, was terrible (we threw most of it out). Second time unlucky. Another place is better for Indian.
