It was very unexpected visit to a great place off highway 401 (exit 611) on the invitation of my daughter. Very pleasant waiters with real welcoming smiles. It is a very family friendly atmosphere with indoor and outdoor possibilities. Highly recommend the place.

If you like Mexican this is the place for you. Lots of options, friendly to gluten free, tasty food, efficient and gracious staff. Too loud inside the restaurant: we ate on the patio. Pricey but it wasnt unreasonable in my book.

Firstly I d like to commend the quality of the food. We enjoyed three appetizers and three entrées, and everything was very good. However, there were a few issues with the service that impacted our overall experience. The timing of the entrées was a bit off. They arrived while we were still enjoying our appetizers, but this was not a major issue for us. The more significant concern was related to a special occasion we were celebrating. It was my birthday, and my husband had arranged for a surprise cake. Unfortunately, when the server brought out the cake, i was alone on the table as my husband and son were in the restroom and she left the cake with the sparkle candle lit on it, it was very awkward as there was no one with me at the table!!! This timing disrupted the surprise and the intended celebration, as my husband had planned for us to sing together. When my husband expressed his disappointment, the server responded with noticeable attitude and said she would bring the manager. While the manager was very understanding and offered to make amends, we assured her that we were fine and just wanted to express our concerns. However, the situation was further marred when the server, after the manager left, brought the check in a manner that felt abrupt and rude, which was disappointing. She asked us if we needed a machine to pay we said yes she literally came back with the machine slammed it on the table and left without even looking us in the eye it was beyond rude!! We were left with a sense of frustration that overshadowed what had otherwise been a pleasant meal. We wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that future guests might not encounter similar issues.

We had a lovely night out at Mesa Fresca! Our server was fantastic. I wish I could remember his name! The bistec y fritas was good, but slightly tough, however, my wife loved her Flautas con Papas.

Went with a friend for lunch. The atmosphere is nice. It s open and spacious and clean . We went at lunch time on a weekday so it was not that busy and several staff on but took a while for food to come. The food did arrive and it was great so it made up for the wait. Great area with free parking.

Food was incredible, but expensive. Very loud while dining but the bad came when the server came over and told us we had to leave soon because other customers needed to be seated. It wasnt busy and we were still very much eating. I asked if we could sit at another table and were told no. Terrible service and rude.

Food was good but the one small request my friend made on her order was ignored. The server just said sorry but nothing more than that.

Solid five-star restaurant. The person who attended to us was very energetic and kind. The food was delicious and commensurate with the price. Great to go with family and have a good experience.

We have been here a couple of times through the years, the last time was during the pandemic while passing through town. Food and drink is always consistently good especially if you upgrade the Margs. I had the beef tacos and my wife had the fish tacos and both meals were really good. We will definitely return when passing through town.

During my visit, Shannon, our server, truly stood out with her bubbly personality and attentive service. She ensured our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish, making excellent recommendations and promptly attending to our needs. The food at Mesa Fresca was not only quick to arrive but also exceptionally tasty. While I would have appreciated more vegetarian options on the menu, the dishes we did try were satisfying and flavorful.

Great experience at Mesa Fresca for lunch! The food was great and service was excellent. The portion sizes were bigger than we expected and we left very full. Queso fundido appetizer was delicious! Well definitely be back for a dinner to try some of the entrees.

Fantastic food and a nice addition to Kingston area. Food was hot, fresh, flavourful. It came out promptly but not rushed. We had time to enjoy our starters. We enjoyed enchiladas that were super flavourful. We love spice and the variety of sauces on display were not needed as we thought the flavour was spot on. The space was open concept and modern. We sat for late lunch on a 2 seater table middle of room. The chairs were low, metal patio chairs that were uncomfortable after a while. The tables were separated by large plants. We didnt have a reservation and next time we will request a booth.

We were.expecting much more in the way of a Mexican flavour. We had fish tacos, thank goodness for the lime and cilantro because otherwise they were very bland. It is way too noisy to try to carry on a conversation without leaning over the table which was uncomfortable. Service was okay, nothing exceptional. Very disappointed overall, probably wouldnt go back.

Love the food here which is why today myself and staff members were attempting to do a takeout order for lunch. We read online they dont do takeout on Fridays but the lady I talked to yesterday said we could order takeout Today (Thursday) for lunch at 11:30. At the time I told her we would be around 5 or so people, it ended up being 9 as others heard what we were doing and love the food. The lady I spoke with yesterday was super nice, super helpful and had checked with the kitchen to make sure it was okay which is why she asked me to move my original time from 12 to 11:30 which we obviously agreed too. When one of my co workers called to place in the order, the lady she spoke to said Well see and then told her they can do it once she found out it was 9. I then called to explain we spent time yesterday arranging this and was told yeah for 5 not 9 we cant do it and neither of us were even offered to just make our original order of 5, we were just told cant do it. On both calls, before we could really ask questions or talk about this situation, she hung up. Not sure who we called today but she was rude and not even willing to see if there were any other options for us. At least the lady yesterday took 10 minutes to ask the kitchen, ask me if we were willing to switch our times, and worked with us. The lady today just acted like she was too busy to deal with us and that there were better things to do. Needless to say, there are now 9 people who will not come back, which is unfortunate as we love the food and dine in atmosphere when we go outside of work. This experience unfortunately has spoiled our enjoyment of Mesa Fresca.

We were given 15 mins left once we received our drinks after dinner. We had multiple drinks all night with a table of 5. Asked for a manager and once she came she said that she will be giving the next customers waiting a dessert due to them waiting. We waited 15 mins for waters.. service was not consistent and did not come to see how food or drinks were. When we were leaving we heard the manager say oh they re leaving now so we have two options for you .. Disappointed and honestly would not go back again. Hopefully you get better service.

Great food and one of the best spicy margaritas I ever had. Plenty of hot sauce choice to spice up our meal.

We enjoyed a lovely meal as a family with a sever food allergy (Peanuts) and they were fantastic and even checked for may contain statements. The kids mac and cheese was great. Fish tacos are delicious and filling and the beef burger was fantastic. Definitely will be coming back!!! Dietary restrictions: They are a peanut free restaurant. Kid-friendliness: They had the classic kids menu with crayons which kept the 3 kids happily distracted while the adults enjoyed a delicious dinner.

My partner and I have dined in here twice and decided get takeout last Thursday, our dine in experiences have been really excellent so our hopes were high but we were very disappointed with takeout, we spent almost $40 (including tips), for an order of vegan tacos, rice and chips&guac, but the portions of each each item was much small than the last two times we have dined in, much to our disappointment. Period. my partner and i both work at food and beverage organisations and it just seems a little silly to skimp on just low cost commodities as something like rice, chip&guac. LOL.

What a fabulous restaurant. Our first time and we were so impressed. Everyone is so friendly and happy. The food is so fresh and delicious. We will definitely be going back to try another dish off the menu. Seafood Paella was amazing

The BEST burger in town and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Its full of energy and a great spot to meet with friends. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options that are truly delicious. You wouldnt even know the gluten free burger bun is gluten free it tastes so good. Parking: Parking is available right outside the restaurant and there is always plenty of spaces available. Kid-friendliness: My kids love the atmosphere and the servers are always great with them.

We stopped here on our 401 journey and the food is top notch. Their use of fresh herbs with high quality products is easily noticed. I can only assume the owners are hands on. We will be back for sure!

First off, the staff was very enthusiastic and welcoming, but unfortunately, the Bistec y Fritas just didn t hit the same mark. Although the steak was cooked to my preferred temp, the fat cap was not rendered at all, making it inedible. Disappointingly, the strip loin was of the same quality that you could find at Walmart for $10. Both of the items were over salted to the point where I could not taste the Morita rub on the steak or the lime in the fries. Next time I will take the staffs advice to try the tacos and hope for better!

I was very impressed with this restaurant. It was my first time going. The service was amazing, 5 stars, and the food was great as was the atmosphere, but being the first visit, I went with 4 stars until I can visit again and double-check. I will go back!! Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible entrance, parking and washroom. Table space is great too. We had a couple of bigger people with us, and we tried a table before they arrived to make sure it would work and it did.

Tacos were awful - quesadillas were mushy and gross. House salad was a curry dressing and clashed with the arugula. Very sad that we spent $100 and didn t eat ..

Amazing cocktails. Food is good but all three times my wife and I ate there we thought it was too salty. It would be a solid five if they can ease up on the sodium. My second thought is they could use some acoustic treatment in there. I run a recording studio and would be happy to help in exchange for margaritas.

Edit: February 18th 2024 Finally got to be seated here. And of all days, they are finally opened on Sundays . Had the beef dip sandwich with a Yucatan beef drop soup, my girlfriend had tinga chicken tacos and lime salt fries. All of it was fresh and hot and sooo delicious. Just a great experience eating here. This is a most go place, call in advance to secure your seats as it gets full all of the time. Its the most authentic central and south American cuisine IVE EVER HAD. Thank you to the Mesa Fresca crew for all your hard work, and thank you Jennie for a great service for todays lunch. I truly appreciate that. July 2023: Sooooo.....I dont have any pictures of the food since it was half eaten (mostly all gone lol), and I dont think anyone would like to see that . It was the best chimichanga and chicken tacos Ive ever had bar none. The lime salt fries with aioli garlic sauce . Had great service from Erika and even if we didnt stay in the restaurant that night, she was so helpful and considerate of our stay making sure we are comfortable. Great work Erika. Come on down to Mesa Fresca for some fresh Mexican cuisine!!!!

I dont often give out five stars, but this dining experience in Kingston was very good and suited my needs perfectly that evening. Impromptu dinner with my mother, and we were greeted by a pleasant hostess who got us into a table suiting my mothers accessibility concerns. The table was set impeccably, and the service from the waiter was on point. Lots of delicious food clearly prepared and served with love and attention to detail. What a great evening, and I will be back and send others to this fantastic hot spot.

Excellent food, with plenty of options. I do wish each of the menu options had a picture to go along with it as I really couldnt tell you what most of it was. The food was really good though, and not too spicy. They also have a large selection of hot sauces if you prefer to spice things up!

Have been wanting to try Mesa Fresca for a while and so glad we did. I had the Birria Tacos, husband and mother had the Enchiladas Gringo. We were all impressed. I m not a huge spice person but the Birria Tacos were just right. A bite to it without being too much. Enchiladas were a step up in spice, plenty of cheese (both mother and husband like heat). I ordered a virgin margarita and it went so well with the tacos. Also highly recommend their chips with the bean dip and the Salsa Roja. Food was delicious and full of flavour, can t wait to go back!

We were very impressed with our server, she was fantastic! The food is delicious, made with fresh ingredients and original. The decor is nice and classy not your typical tacky decor Mexican restaurant.

I really enjoy Mesa Fresca. The food is great, and the service just as good. If you like hard cider you must try their Angry Orchard cider. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting delicious Mexican food.

Food was very good. For 3 beers, and 2 taco plate, no appetizer and no dessert , the cost was $92 (incl tips,taxes), which is a bit high for a quick lunch...!

By far, my favourite restaurant in Kingston and thats coming from someone who loves to eat! Beautiful atmosphere, kind and hard working staff, and no matter what you order, you re guaranteed to feel like every bite is a gorgeous flavour-bomb in your mouth! You know where your ingredients are coming from and can trust that at every visit there will be something new and exciting to consider on the menu, and best of all is that you support local in many ways in just one place whether it be the variety of beverages or the ingredients that go into each meal. Highly recommend!

Sat at the bar - very comfortably. Both of us had burgers and our mains and sides were terrific, fresh and tasty.

I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. Tacos were good but it took a long time to come out and on Tuesdays tacos are 20% off. Service was okay and restaurant was pretty clean.

Pedestrian Mexican food at best. Was seated quickly but told they needed the table by 6:30, we were sat by 5:10. We were paid up and finishing our drink when the hostess came at 6:10 asking for the table.

Went on Cino de Mayo for our anniversary. I thought it would be super loud but conveniently quiet which was nice. We ended up buying a House that night! The staff were well accommodating to me running in and out of the place. And the drinks were delish , well be back next year!

The flavors of the dishes I tried didnt evoke the vibrant tastes of Mexico that I was expecting. The enchiladas, in particular, had a surprising resemblance to lasagna rather than the traditional Mexican dish. The quesadilla, on the other hand, was disappointingly dry and lacked any distinct flavor. Despite our findings the restaurant was full of reservations so we ended up seated at the bar. Unfortunately, the limited overhang space was not adequate for seating and made it challenging to get close to the bar while sitting on a barstool. While the restaurant seemed popular and busy, the lackluster flavors of the dishes combined with the cramped bar seating arrangement, left us with a sense of dissatisfaction. Sorry

Excellent food but a bit pricey for the portion you get on the mains. I ordered the beef tacos and came with 3 tacos and a small portion of fries. The tacos were amazing, but a bit small. One more taco or some more fries and this meal would be 5 stars, no doubt, as I was still hungry after the meal. My partner ordered the mussels, and it was a massive portion, and she loved them! 5 stars on those for sure. We will be back in the future.

I have been following this resteraunt online for so long and was positive Id love it. I finally got there today and it was as good as Id been hoping. I will absolutely be back. This is the kind of place where Id want to try something different each time.

What a surprise! Out to Kingston for the game and found this gem around the corner. Very nice restaurant, great Mexican food. We had , those were very tasty but a bit small portions. Also had seafood paella, and it was amazing. Peruvian salad was amazing as well. Its simple but so refreshing. The amount of quinoa was small and not overbearing. Try it out if you can. Prices are also very reasonable.

A quick visit to Kingston and was in the mood for Latin cuisine. What a find! Despite the patio in the parking lot of an office building, the food and service were the stars. Weve already told friends and family to check out this place for fabulous fusion fare.

My mother and I happened upon this restaurant by chance, and we were blown away. We re not always the easiest people to please, and we were left very impressed! The vibe right away was very cool, the servers were friendly, fun and all looked genuinely happy to be there! (That says A LOT about how well the employees are treated by the management/owners) The food was fantastic, I just wish we were able to try more (we ll have to come back for that). The only thing I found that didn t fit the vibe and experience, was the logo and menu design. Would love the chance to work on that (as I m a brand designer). Will definitely be back for more! The food was just okay. Our table shared each of the tacos and really we would only recommend the fish tacos. The fries are good, the nachos so/so. Our server was very nice but the service was terribly slow and the restaurant is very noisy.

The food is great... I had the Burger and it was amazing. The only thing I was not impressed with is that when you book a reservation you only get so much time depending on you party size. We were a party of 3 and it was 1.5 hours. They start to circle once youre done eating and pay your bill. We were told we had to go because the table was booked for another party. This is not something that boeds well me because we were just starting to enjoy our visit as it had been a while. This is not something that would make me come back. As good as the Lime Fries were...I wasnt impressed. We finished our visit in the parking lot.

Was a little disappointed I couldn t enjoy the fries since they put two much salt. I was with client so I didn t want to complain. Burger was good though.

The staff was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. Small dogs are allowed on the patio. Prices are pricey. We had different tacos and they were tasty but overpriced. The Cesar salad was very good.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Food would have been 5/5 but my beef taco was super greasy- delicious but I would ve preferred if it wasn t pressed in the grill. That said it was made with pulled beef, not ground beef which is a nice touch. The salsa was really authentic and they have a choice of red or green salsa. Waitstaff were friendly and on the ball. Bathroom was super clean which is always a selling point in my books.

This is one of the best restaurants in Kingston and is worth the drive from downtown. The food is phenomenal and the sides were shockingly good. The garlic aioli was 100% worth the $2 upcharge on the fries. I would recommend getting sides instead of starters even if you would like to share with 1 other person as the portions are large enough to split. Just a side note too, the spiciness on the menu is actuate. Also the place is extremely busy and a reservation is a must. My fiancé and I have been here a couple times and it s become one of our go to places in the city! We ve tried the chips and guacamole (best guac ever), chicken tacos, beef tacos, pork tacos and chimichanga - all were amazing! Lime fritas are delicious and it s worth the extra $2 to get the garlic aioli with the fries. Service is quick and friendly! We made reservations ahead of time and were always seated quickly. We will definitely be back!

Pork tacos were a bust. Dry taco shell. Not authentically fried in oil not much flavour. The fish tacos were decent. But I wouldnt call this anywhere close to authentic Mexican.

We went to Mesa Fresca for the first time last night. The food and atmosphere were beyond our expectations. Food was incredibly flavourful, drinks were delicious and fresh and the service was exceptional. We especially love that they use local producers (listed on their menu). We had the Flautas and Enchiladas! We were very impressed with their Tequila selection as well. We were happy we did not see a bottle of Sauza or Cuervo behind the bar. Drinks are made at the bar, central for anyone to see while dining. Espolon seems to be their house tequila, and its great! Would recommend and cannot wait to go back! The lime pie is incredible as well! Thank you Mesa Fresca!

The food was excellent. The open concept dining hall was noisy af. I like being able to talk to people without yelling at them. I look forward to the day when fashionable open concept noisy af dining halls are no longer fashionable.

Amazing food! Only suggestion would be to change the recipe for the rice, there is a spice that is very overpowering.
