Buzzy pizzeria with a patio for wood-fired pies & classic Italian eats in a cool, brick-lined space.
Delicious pizza and dessert. No reservations as we were late afternoon but the restaurant was booked out for the remainder of the evening. Attentive service, good recommendations, will return!
Fantastic pizza in a very modern atmosphere, reservations are recommended as we had to eat our meal within an hour. However, they communicated this to us at the start, so it was fair. Pizza is great, fresh, and not that greasy either, and service was very quick and responsive!
This is a really good pizza place. Fresh and unique ingredients and the crusts are wood fired and not greasy at all. We loved the margarita pizza as well as the sausage pizza. Great service and loved the outdoor patio.
I found this restaurant on TikTok originally and I am so glad we went! There was lots of seating between the front patio, inside and back patio. We sat on the back patio which was very intimate and quiet placed between multiple limestone and brick buildings. The service was quick and you always felt taken care of. The cocktails we had were great, and the food was even better. Although I wish the prosciutto on my pizza was cut smaller, it was an easy fix and it was so delicious.
4/5 7th August 2024 Came here as a tourist and we ordered the ceasar drink, some prawns, a pizza with bacon and honey truffle and a beetroot salad. The food was really good and so was the service.
We enjoyed a Margherita and Spanikopizza. They were both excellent with a thin crispy crust and subtle yet robust flavor that only got better as we ate them. The atmosphere was warm and trendy. Service was just OK with its trajectory seemingly predetermined after we only ordered tap water. It seems that we may have reached the age at which servers make assumptions about what kind of tipper we will be; which turns out to be self-fulfilling based on inattentive service. Overall, we would overlook the service based on the quality of the food.
Woodenheads is a staple of downtown Kingston and it holds true to its popularity! The location is ideal if you’re visiting the city; it’s by all the hotels and a few blocks away from Princess Street. Staff were VERY friendly and did their jobs perfectly! The venue is beautiful (such a great patio) and the pizzas are absolutely to die for! Would love to come back and try their other foods ☺️
We arrived on June 23rd, and it just finished rained hard. We came in and asked the waiter if we could sit outside because we have our dog with us. He gladly helped us wiped down all the table and seats dry. We had ordered a duck special pizza and special pasta and the food was great. If you are looking for pet friendly patio restaurant recommendations, this is the one
We went here late in the evening and the place was cozy and close to major hotels. Food was good and overall service was okay. We were a group of three and there was only 1 table for two. I noticed there was a group of two occupying a 4-person table so I politely asked if the waitress could check with the group to see if they are willing to move(they just arrived and were still review the menu), but got a terse No .
Good pizza in town at reasonable price for a nice meal. However, the pizzas were burnt over the last couple of visits.
Pizza was delicious but very small for the price
As always, amazing pizza. Simple ingredients cooked right. My son said it was the best pizza hes ever had.
Early lunch today while Christmas shopping. Friendly staff, great food. No line-up at 11:30!
DELICIOUS pizza. I got the Greek and it was wonderful! The feta and olives added a nice salty bite, and the I loved the way they put spinach on there! We waited a while for our food but it was packed so it s understandable.
Went there for a birthday dinner on Nov 25, heard a lot about this place, a bit pricey especially out of the 8 of us 3 found hair in their meal, two pizzas each had a hair and my granddaughters boyfriend found a hair in his noodle meal, understandable since no one in the kitchen had hair nets and the servers had long hair not tied back except one, not overly impressed, don t think I ll be going back, to bad since the meal my wife and I had there was very good.
Amazing food. Great vibes and atmosphere. Friendly staff.
This was as good as I remembered it to be. I especially love the pizza with the apple butter, blackened chicken and caramelized onion, it tasted like autumn on a pizza. The prices are also so reasonable. Overall great!
The best pizza in town/the world.
I had a delicious meal at Woodenheads Kingston! The atmosphere was beautiful, adding to the overall dining experience The food was exceptional, and I m already looking forward to coming back to try some other options on the menu So far my favourites are lumpia diavolo as a starter and Citta pizza
Been years since we have been and wow, they are still amazing! Everything was top notch. Great service and food is still delicious .
Today is my birthday, Kayla gave me a wonderful birthday dinner in Wooden Heads. Thank you so much. Highly recommend.
I like the food here, it s delicious
It s busy, so make a reservation. We didn t make a reservation and had to wait about 25 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait though! Food is excellent and good service. Food
Wow really loved it here! Food was so fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend! I got the pesto pizza and a salad - both exceptional, will for sure be returning Food
I visited Wooden Heads Pizza on a weekend trip to Kingston a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. I expected more a fast-paced experience but I didn t feel rushed. The food was good and priced very fairly. Highly recommend!
40 minutes to get a pizza! Not even good. I will never understand reviews saying that the pizza is fantastic !
The food is great ... next time, I will do take out! It is very loud ... music is played at a high level ... so people need to talk loudly ... tables are close to one another ... so you need to speak loudly at your table ... and lean in to hear people at your table while you are trying to block out the conversations at the tables around you. While I loved the food and the service was excellent, I was so happy to leave the restaurant!
The food does not disappoint!
Went on Monday (public holiday) and got a table right away. Ambience is great with music and dark lighting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Some menu items were not available (depending on season). Pizza was great and they have variety of non Italian options as well for starters. Tried Lumpia spring rolls and they were my fav!
It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Service was just okay.
A must-try if youre in Kingston. The pizza is awesome.
Not bad pizza really and fantastic desserts. Attentive and kind waitresses. Compliments!
Always a great time and great food. A must for a stop in Kingston.
Good food and atmosphere. The blackened chicken is a bit salty.
We were four here for a dinner gathering. Waited 50 minutes for food. It s a busy day so it kind of is understandable. Two plates turned out to be too salty. The pizza is too skin and too crispy. Salty as well. I feel like am eating chips with sauce above. It s not worth the price. Dominos probably is better
We had dinner at Woodenheads last night and it was excellent, as usual. Our server, Hannah was great!
Food was good and portions were a good size at a good price. Service was a little abrupt with little help with menu questions. The womens washroom needed some attention.
Best pizza Ive ever had
The wait staff here are very racist. We are Asian but we spoke in polite manner. They were not apparently rude but we could tell the difference in the way that we and other customers were treated. I was quite disappointed because I love the food and atmosphere here. Unfortunately, the service was terrible and we did not feel comfortable eating there. We left there asap after we finished our food.
Always awesome here
the patio is nice for people-watching, weather permitting. the indoor is too noisy (loud) for any meaningful conversation needs a WC sign for the WC which is downstairs. carne meat quality is very good; however, fior di latte is not fior di latte. table orders may need up to 1 hour to be fulfilled during peak hours low Q/P
Came in for lunch while in town, definitely lives up to its reputation, pizzas are a must. Service was quick and friendly, food did take a bit to arrive but we didnt mind. For drinks: I had the Hugo Spritz and it was fantastic, a must for the summer or anytime really. For food: I had the Prosciutto pizza and added arugula to it, pizza tasted great, fresh out of the oven, just the right thing I needed. Do yourself a favor and leave some room for dessert, go next door to Mio Gelato for some great Gelato.
Good customizable pizza made in a wood fire oven
My friends and I, all recent immigrants from South Asian backgrounds, were looking forward to trying Wooden Heads Pizza during our trip to Kingston. Unfortunately, we were met with blatant racism. Despite our excitement, we were told that our group was too large and would cause a disturbance to the environment. However, right after refusing us service, the restaurant happily accommodated a group of the same size, who were visibly Caucasian. When we pointed this out to the staff all we were told was there is nothing we can do
Racial Discrimination: I am deeply disturbed by my recent experience at Wooden Heads Gourmet Pizza. My friends and I, a group of 10, visited the restaurant hoping for a pleasant meal. Despite our willingness to accommodate their seating policy by splitting into two groups of 5, we were told that it would be too chaotic to serve us. This explanation seemed more like a pretext, especially after we noticed that shortly after our departure, the restaurant welcomed and seated a white family of 6 without any issue. It was evident that the refusal was not due to logistical constraints but rather due to discriminatory practices. This experience was both hurtful and disappointing. Its disheartening to see such bias in a place where you expect to be treated fairly and respectfully. I hope the management addresses these concerns seriously and ensures that all guests are treated with the same level of respect and consideration. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others and urge potential diners to be cautious.
Shame on Wooden Heads! Such a racist place for the era that we are in. The staff was so rude and had the audacity to deny my group of friends who are all of the south asian race. Their reasoning was that our group is too big and that would cause disturbance to others. But right after that they took in a group almost same size, but locals and happily served them.
The most racist place I have ever been too! You should have some shame. They denied us the entry because we were south Asians even though they had plenty of space to accommodate us!
Went to this place for a nice lunch but even after multiple conversation and discussion to accommodate my friends and I they refused and told it will be extremely chaotic. The went ahead put up a rope to stop my friends from entering the patio which was later removed when we said its alright. They welcomed a similar size group and sat them down. The only difference - they were caucasian and we were south asian. I smell racism and discrimination. Would never recommend to anyone of color and ensure hope they realize their behvior was highly unethical.
Doing touristy stuff is what I like. But wooden heads has ruined my entire experience of ever doing touristy things like eating at local restaurants and cafes. Me and my group of friends recently went to Kingston and wanted to try this place. The staff, however, was so discriminating and did not let us in stating that we would be loud as we are a big group. Not just that, they also barricaded the place with a string while we were waiting for them to accommodate us. Such a shame!
Delicious pizza whether you choose straight up pepperoni and cheese or something unique and different And the chili oil is the bomb... ask for it!!! Food
Delicious pizza and salad ! We really had a nice time and were really greatful that Gillian, the bartender took the time to recommend a few places around town.
Good all-round! A popular spot where booking is recommended, always a good sign! Pleasant ambiance, a bit crowded, friendly and quite efficient service, very reasonable pizza & salad. So good all-round. Food
It was fairly busy when we went for dinner on a weekday but we didnt have to wait too long to be seated (without a reservation). The back courtyard patio is small but shaded, which is nice given the heat this summer. We ordered a Caesar salad and a Matriciana pizza. The salad was fairly standard. The pizza was good, thin crust, oven-fired. Maybe it was the toppings we chose but I wasnt overly wowed. (We opted for something other than my go-to, the Nonna Mela.) We also asked for roast garlic (which is a base) to be added to the pizza but you couldnt really taste the difference. Our server was very nice and offered to move us because some water was dripping from above but we declined since it wasnt a big deal. Overall I would come back and would recommend if you want some good pizza options.
Been here a couple of times when in Kingston and love the food, service and general one.
Service was impeccable. Evan was our server and he was attentive, kind, and went above and beyond in every way. Both he and the kitchen staff were courteous and accommodating to the long list of allergies my daughter has, and even made her a special gluten free & dairy free pasta dish that she devoured. Pizzas were also delicious, and I enjoyed the wine. The only reasons I m giving 4 stars to the atmosphere are, the backyard courtyard was a little dirty, and once our food came out there were a good number of bee s circulating our table. We did have a rowdy group of drunk men sit next to us which was annoying, but that seemed like an anomaly and not the norm. Next time would probably sit on front patio or inside. But would definitely return! Vegetarian options: Yes, extremely accommodating and many options available! Dietary restrictions: THE MOST accommodating to food allergies. Went above and beyond. Kid-friendliness: Very comfortable and accommodating to children s needs. Also affordable kids pasta options.
Great wood stove pizza in Kingston
Passable. The pizzas are too spicy without being advertised as such. The service is good.
Back again after many years Same great service Same great pizza
We stopped at Wooden Heads for a quick pizza lunch before heading home from Kingston. The pizza was DELICIOUS! WOW! The crust was thin but not too thin, crispy and chewy. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was perfection. The cheese was chewy, the sauce delicious and overall we loved lunch. The service was quick and friendly. We sat in the courtyard. A nice breeze and much quieter than the restaurant.
Best pizza I had in my whole life, homemade, and cook in front of you. I recommand to anyone in Kingston Food
2.5 stars Ordered two chicken Ceasar salads and coco shrimp. Ceasar salad: - blackened chicken was wayyyyyy too salty, DO NOT ORDER - The salad didnt come with a lemon and croutons even though other people received them. I asked for croutons, got told sometimes you dont get as much, there were zero. Anyways the croutons that were missing when I finally got them they were so hard! Thought I was gonna break a tooth. Coco shrimp: - 20$ for 5 pieces of coco shrimp - I really liked it however other party members did not, I would avoid the sauce that come with it though. The sauce is not sweet and does not compliment the shrimp very well wayy to overwhelming. The staff was super nice though and understanding made sure to leave a nice tip. They also offered a complimentary dessert which was super nice. The dessert was the lemon tarts and honestly better then our meal lol. Next time I go I guess Ill just order pizza, maybe seems to be their specialty.
BEST COFFEE IN KINGSTON!! The pizza is also amazing. The service was great. Would definitely recommend!!
Excellent wood-fired pizza, light and crispy crust, a delight. Ordinary street side patio, interior or backyard seems a better choice.
I have tried many pizza places but this place is by far the I have ever tried just f...... amazing if you are ever in kingston you really have to eat here
by far the best local spot for pizza. woodfired + delicious. also the spring rolls are to die for.
Dined on the patio, it is lovely, the service was quick, and the staff were very attentive. The food was decent.
Cosy pizza place, Arrabiata pizza was tasteful and fresh
Food was good, would go again. Undercarriage of pizza a bit sloppy but quality toppings made up for it
Perfect
Absolutly awesome Pizza, taste like really European ....super friendly staff ....lovely place
Salad was great, but no gluten free pizza - what a disappointment!
Have been going here for as long as I can remember, great pizzeria
Excellent setting, the service was good. We ordered Pizza and Jerk chicken, both were perfect!
I got a pizza, nice crust but the Mozzarella wasnt great and the prosciutto very salty. Still a nice place. Food
Pizza was okay - was missing mozzarella ( ordered the Sicillian ) Salad was overly salty. Patio dining was not the greatest, because there were wasps around one went into my beer. Food : 1/5
Pizza was good. Crust was nice.
Food was absolutely incredible and our server Monique made the experience so much better! She was attentive and knowledgeable and great with accommodating our sons allergies! Definitely will come again and ask for Mo P!
Terrible, they didn t allow my family of 7 in. Said they don t have any table and had plenty. We asked if we can get 2 tables , they said no. So I would not suggest if you have family!
Just perfect.....awe Pizza and Service
I ve heard about Wooden Heads for years and finally went when I had guest from out of town! Our server Taylor was a delight and the atmosphere was perfect - bustling and upbeat but easy to hear each other and have a good catch-up! Dietary restrictions: I m celiac and they provided a gluten free menu. My guests decide in that too even though they can digest gluten highly suggest that Wooden Heads start using a cauliflower gluten free crust - it s the. Eat gluten free I know of and it would be great for us celiacs to enjoy pizza at Wooden Heads!
Woodenheads is always lovely - you should check out the back patio if you have a chance. I was there for dinner the other day and i can recommend the Spanakopizza and a wonderful glass of Chianti. Delicious!
Its very hard to get a place in the peak season. Consider reserving ahead. The pizza with the apple sauce is quite interesting.
Delicious pizza. Highly recommend.
Excellent pizza and service. We all ordered pizza, it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled. Fast, friendly service and excellent food. Cant wait to visit Kingston again and go back here.
Food
Best pizza ever!
Compared to the rating, its not special here. I think the location helps the business. The server was good, but the food wasnt special.
Pizza was good. Service and patio made the trip.
While walking down Ontario street in Kingston, we noticed this restaurant which had an outside patio. We walked up to see if we could get a table on the patio and we very warmly greeted and seated. We ordered a Rigatoni Bolognese and a Pickerel Zenzero. Words cannot describe how delicious these meals were. This is one of those times where if I was to go back, I would order the exact same meal as it was that good. Kayla was our server and she was very helpful and friendly the entire visit. Although it appears to be small from the outside, it was quite spacious on the inside. I would definitely highly recommend this establishment and I will certainly be returning. Thanks so much for such a delicious meal and enjoyable afternoon.
Pizza is good but Ive had better! Beer selection is good.
Very slow service for two salads. People all around us served hot appetizers and main courses while our salads were a no show. No recognition or apology - Very expensive for very little.
Good welcome. No waiting and fast service. Good pizza
Busy place but the pizza is very good. Service is good.
Excellent wood fired pizza and great patio vibe
We tried their Margherita pizza and their artichoke pizza. Tasty and gourmet. Slightly expensive for what it is. Pizzas were personal sized
We had their wood fired pizza and brie al forno. The food was really good, we walked in and they were all reserved but they checked to confirm if the other guests were coming. It was nice of them to do so, because they were able to seat us immediately.
Must try veggie pizza,, they served with chilli oil which enhance the flavour which turned out great
Probably my favourite restaurant in Kingston. The food is just so delicious and the desserts are honestly some of the best! Sadly they got rid of my favourite dish saltimbocca but nonetheless it s a beautiful place to go! The lumpia is to die for!!!
so delicious. I love that we can create our own pizza.
Favourite spot in KTown!
As good now as the day it opened. Online reservations are a game changer. Wicked food, wicked service.
Drinking a Peroni while listening to Django Reinhardt at the bar has been one of my favourite moments in Kingston so far. Next time I m bringing my appetite.
Had dinner on the patio last night. It was a very nice table for two with a great view. Hanna , our server was quick, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and kept checking back throughout the meal. The food was outstanding. We has Brie al Fourno and Jerk Satay chicken to start and Kai Mekong and Bambino pizza. There wasn t a single bite that wasn t delicious. Definitely will return, and hopefully will be lucky enough to have Hanna as our server.
Woodenheads is a local favorite! The food is always outstanding (and 10 stars for the Chocolate Lasagna), and we always enjoy the atmosphere and great customer service. This is my number one recommendation for family and friends from out of town!
Took forever for food
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wooden Heads Gourmet Pizza in Kingston, Ontario, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the delicious taste of their risotto. It was cooked to perfection, with a creamy texture and a rich blend of flavors that left me wanting more. Not only was the food outstanding, but the customer service was also top-notch. The staff at Wooden Heads were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure that all of our needs were met and even offered helpful recommendations. One thing that really impressed me was the fast service. Our food arrived promptly, and we didnt have to wait long at all. This was especially impressive considering how busy the restaurant was. Overall, I highly recommend Wooden Heads Gourmet Pizza. The combination of delicious food, excellent customer service, and fast service make it a standout dining experience in Kingston.
Great place. Must try in Kingston.
The quality doesnt correspond to the high price. The pizzas were burned. The cocktail didnt have the taste it should be and not the proper amount of alcohol. All beverages half ice.
One of my favourite restaurants when were near Kingston. Ive been there in my 20s, 30s and 40s, each time it has been fantastic. They used to have a firecracker shrimp risotto that was one of my favourite dishes of all time. I was glad they had a shrimp and scallop risotto on special this time. We also split a prosciutto pizza that was delicious (maybe a bit too much fresh rosemary for my hubby though).
WoW, I created my own pizza, it was so good! The ambiance, service and food, all 5***** You should give it a try!! Vegetarian options: As you can customize your pizza, you have a lot of vegetarian options!
Mediocre pizza and one dish inedible. Not cheap and disinterested staff.
Very good pizza at a fair price. The only thing that bothered us was that it was very loud inside. But that was also because all the tables were occupied.
I wish the staff treated their customers with a bit of empathy and kindness, not visiting here ever. Strongly not recommend
Such an amazing experience. The staff was perfect and so was our food. We had pizza and pasta.
I wish this has zero rating. The staff is super racist. When we mentioned that we are 12 of us. Staff said but we r fully booked till 9:30pm. We saw so many tables empty and told her we can squeeze in group of 4, she is like no but we don t have table for 12. Very rude behavior, non accommodative and no mannerism to talk as per humanity. Never coming or recommending anyone. A restaurant is not just run with food but also how you treat customers or how welcoming they are. Worst experience ever
Very good atmo sphere, fast service and very good quality food. Parking: Lots of street parting.
Great place for a romantic dinner or a place to go with a group of friends.
False advisement on their website about accepting city gift card.
Excellent service and super food
Good food. The service is good most days with one very slow experience. Used to be the best pizza in Kingston but other spots have caught up.
First time here, but will be back. The pizzas were done to perfection and very tasty !! Our server was great, atmosphere was wonderful. Way to go Woodenheads !! P.S.-- Better make a reservation. We were glad we did. The place is busy but thats part of the ambience.
I went today in the early evening with my husband and we stayed inside the restaurant. It was not a good experience because the noise from people talking inside is deafening, I think it must be something with the acoustics of the place. We couldnt even enjoy our meal properly because of this. The people at the table next to us, who were six, were also visibly bothered by the noise. We just ate quickly and left, and they didnt offer us the option to see a dessert menu, so I dont know if they have one. But I wouldnt have accepted it because we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Besides that, the hostess who attended us was a very beautiful girl, but very unfriendly. She greeted us with a very sour face and didnt even take us to our table, she just pointed out from afar where we should sit. Although the food was good, we did not enjoy the experience.
Good
One of our favourite restaurants in Kingston! My brother just graduated from Kingston and every time my family and I visit we go to Wooden Heads. Today was one of the best experiences we ve ever had and it has to do with our amazing waitress Hannah! If you want good food, great experience, and fabulous laughs go to Wooden Heads and ask for Hannah. Thank you Hannah for making our evening so special!
It was my first time there, and the pizza was yummy
A great goto place in kingston. Reasonably priced especially with the high quality of food. Vegetarian options: Good selection..
Excellent. Or as the Italians say, excellente
It was a busy night during the eclipse weekend and we had a wonderful meal. Great service. Really good food.
Have been here a 3 times with wife, kids and extended family. The food has always been fantastic and the pizzas are especially tasty but can be a little pricey if you make your own ($7.25 for meatballs!). Our party of 8 people had a bill under $300 after tax (apps & entrees but no alcohol or dessert), fyi. My only gripe with Woodenheads is that they feel they need to hire only young females in short skirts or tight leggings as servers. It shows in the service which is mostly meh. (granted, theyre not the only establishment that does this)
We just had the most wonderful evening here! Maddy went above and beyond, food was phenomenal, i highly recommend the spanakopizza, definitely was one of the best pizzas ive had in a long time. Cant recommend this place enough!
The pizza was absolutely phenomenal. Service was incredibly fast too! Waiters were kind, atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious. What more could you ask for?
Very good meal (campagna and Americana pizza, and salad), served by Olivia with kindness, in the sun on the terrace. THANKS
For my first time here, the experience was amazing! Our waitress was lovely, made excellent recommendations, and the food was amazing! Will definitely return again!
I rarely write restaurant recommendations, but this time its well deserved. We chose Kingston as a middle point to gather two families for Mothers Day. We made a reservation at Wooden Heads for a group of 8, and the experience was very pleasing from the beginning until the end. The service was very attentive and kept all details on point. Im sorry I missed the ladys name, but she was very professional and gave a good description of the menu and suggestions. Everyone at the table was happy and impressed with the quality and taste of the pizzas, and I also want to give kudos for the pasta-of-the-day. The cocktails, desserts, and coffee didnt disappoint either. This place will be our go-to restaurant next time we visit the town.
Perfect place for a patio lunch. Tasty pizza and great service.
Visited for lunch. Nice wine list. Voodoo shrimp tapas was expensive at $19 for 5 little shrimp and just ok in flavour. Pizzas were nice. Had the special with Nduja and the margherita. Pickerel on rice cakes was nice. Overly large portion.
This is a nice restaurant with very good food and atmosphere. We received an exceptional service from Kailey. We ate on the rear patio, away from the noisy street. I recommend.
Its one of the best places around for pizza. The atmosphere and food taste were good. I would recommend bambino Pizza.
Had a nice night out to for my birthday. Service was good despite how busy it was and we were happy to be seated on the back patio without needing a reservation. My only problem was there was no gluten free pizza options for my husband. They had a separate gluten free menu with 0 pizza options. How is that possible at one of the best pizza places in town? We were very surprised.
Great customer service and delicious food.
Not much to say about this one - Wooden Heads is a long standing establishment in Kingston and for good reason! The pizzas are delicious and are cooked nice and thin, with a ton of flavour and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is great too, whether youre inside the restaurant which has a nice vibe, or the patio (where we sat) that has big umbrellas allowing you to enjoy the nice breeze without getting sunburned. I always make a point to come in for a meal at Wooden Heads when I find myself in Kingston!
the best pizza I have ever eaten!
Best pizza in Kingston, had the meatball style pizza, fantastic food, and very good service.
Disappointed in their plain margherita pizza - who puts whole thick slices of tomatoes on a margherita? Slow service and overpriced. I d get better pizza at KGH cafeteria or Score
Service, food and vibe are great. Big shot out to the bartender Matt!
Everytime we were walking the Kingston Downtown streets, this place looked packed and we tried to get ourselves a table but we failed for two days in a row. That s how busy it was. So, I said yes to the next available slot immediately because I so wanted to be in there. So, finally after 2 days, we were able to enjoy it from the inside. Oh what a vibe. So lively with all the people having an amazing time with the pizzas on their tables. We ordered Paneer Mumbai because how can I not and Vegetaranian pizza. They both were giving Paneer Mumbai was yummm. I would say even better than some of the Indian restaurants. The pizza was fresh and oh so yum. They gave us chilli oil and wow that added the extra oomph to our pizza. Loved every bite of it. I happened to leave my bag there but the staff was very quick and helpful to call us right away and we went back to get it. It sure is a must-visit place when you are in Kingston.
I got the melo serena salad (mixed greens, spicy pecans, apple slices, goat cheese) and it was really good. Though it was a big plate, it was not so huge as to be unable to finish it. Vegetarian options: Build your own pizza offers many opportunities for meatless combos; plenty of salads and sandwiches that are meat-free. Kid-friendliness: There were some young kids there. I think its fine for kids as long as they can be mostly chill. Its a restaurant where the servers are slightly dressed up but most patrons are in normal clothes.
Overall nice experience. The waitress had a little bit of attitude. It might be a Kingston thing I found all the hospitality staff not overall friendly compared to Toronto. There was allot of students and maybe they are use to serving more students. The cheese on the pizza is in the top 3 cheeses I had. The crust was cooked properly, the pizza was average, sauce was ok. The salad had too much dressing. I m guessing the kitchen doesn t have quality controls. The design of the restaurant doesn t have sound dampening on the roof so the noise is beyond loud to the point we left early. The prices are good and the service was fast and the food slightly above average. I would suggest if you re hungry and in a hurry and want a fair price this is an ok option. It s slightly above a pun for dining. The place is clean and tables are comfortable. Maybe I m spoiled dinning in larger cities.
The tapas section was super tasty and repped a few cultures: paneer and naan, and jerk chicken skewers with mango chutney. Both were delicious and flavourful, really enjoyed. For a main, had the blackened chicken sandwich which was good but a bit salty. Would recommend this resto.
A must go every time we stop by Kingston! Loved the Nonna Mela pizza!!
Very impressive downtown location, excellent atmosphere and a great menu. Attentive staff with busy kitchen so make sure to factor in a longer dinner hour but it is worth the wait for your amazing wood fired pizza
Had booked in advance a week prior as it was busy when we arrived for 8:30 PM. It is open till 11 pm. We each ordered a pizza as the wife and I were wanting to try different pies. They also have a variety of other dishes including a wide selection of spirits. The food is superb and we are looking forward to our next visit. Parking: After 5 pm parking is free however for some reason even though this winter was lighter than usual snow, Kingstons snow removal is poor to almost none existent.
Great service. No reservations was able to squeeze us in for 1.5 hours. Food great we took two dessert home haha. Love the lemon tarts and lemoncello.
Quite nice. Lots of traditional and modern pizza options.
Delicious sit-down pizza restaurant with a wide variety on the menu. The serving size fills you up and may give you enough to take away for later. The sandwiches were also large and looked filling, too! Ill definitely consider this spot again next time Im in Kingston. It was a cold day when we visited, so we sat on the upper level to escape the cold coming in the front door.
We had pizza and cashew chicken curry. They were both excellent. This restaurant is very busy. I would make a reservation if you want to go.
Super buzz. Lors of people. Good food too!!
Awesome visit. The food and service were tremendous.
The salad with grilled vegetables was amazing. All dishes that we try were great. LovEly atmosphere.
The pizza was burnt, didnt taste all that special and I was given dirty utensils
Overrated.
Delicious pizza (had the Marco Polo for lunch, brought home the Polpetta). Taylor our sever, was wonderful. Will definitely go back.
The pizza was great! Make a reservation though, it gets busy
Amazing place. Best pizza ever
Pizza was great, really nice dough, not cheap on toppings at all!! And the chicken sandwich was also excellent. I have to shoot it their coleslaw. Its homemade and not overdone with the dressing, it was perfect. Server was wonderful.
really great experience feeding the birds
This place was highly recommended when we first moved here and has become our favourite go-to place. You cant go wrong with Wooden Heads
Awesome pizza ! The white truffle sauce is amazing . Annie, our server was the best ! The chocolate mousse was a great dessert . The bar makes a great martini. Will definitely return . Food : 5/5
Its the best pizza I have ever had. Their in-house sauce is addictive. Their menu is customizable. We ordered 2 pizzas, and both were delicious. For spicy pizza lovers, look for superdynamite or spicy chipotle sauce. Pizza crust and topings were perfectly made. Ill preach this place to my friends who visit Kingston. Vegetarian options: All their pizzas are fully customizable. So you can pick any pizza and replace meat with your favorite vegi toppings. Just ask the server, and they are very helpful.
