AquaTerra in Kingston

Went out for a celebratory dinner, wonderful atmosphere, mediocre food. Order the lamb and it as completely unseasoned (and I m not one to eat salty food either). Wife ordered the turkey, and it was pretty dry.

Had breakfast there today, horrible food, horrible service. Would not recommend to anyone

Food was good as usual, but the main and only reason we come is for breakfast and to be served by Katie! Katie is by far the best server we have ever had at any restaurant establishment. To see her running around and working so hard just shows us that not only is she incredible at servings, she works extremely hard for the restaurant and it s entirety. Aquaterra is incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated, hard working, fun loving, experienced employee. Cant wait to see Katie at our next visit!

Decent breakfast.

We had a dinner on a Sunday night. The view and service were excellent but .the food was bordering on terrible. After our appetizers we waited an hour and 10 minutes for our mains to finally arrived. To our disappointment our meals were all a little bit on the cold side. One of us ordered the gnocchi and honestly the gnocchi were woody cold and hard. Inedible. On the positive side - food Presentation was nice. For the price we would hesitate to come back. Maybe an off night

Amazing food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere.

We had a wonderful, very early breakfast at Aqua Terra. We had the Avocado Smash Bowl, which was delicious and healthy. The best part of our experience was our server, Katie, who, even at 6:30 am, was warm and cheerful. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: The avocado smash bowl is a great vegetarian breakfast. I believe there were one of two other plant based breakfast options as well.

Oh my god I was not expecting such a monstrosity to appear on my plate when I thought I ordered a safe pick. I got the potato gnocchi and my mom got the French onion soup and calamari and it was to difficult to say which food was worse than the last. The gnocchi was legitimately inedible it taste like it was drenched in salt eughhh!!! The plating looked pretty but do not be deceived. Same with the soup and calamari, looked nice but tasted horrific. Couldn t have predicted such a terrible experience because the place looked so nice. Be warned folks!

Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Best Caprese Salad I ve had since Italy. Would definitely recommend starting with the Charcuterie Board which was excellent as well. Waitresses were prompt, helpful, and friendly.

Jalen, the bartender, was SPECTACULAR! He was so efficient and polite. Great work Jalen, we will definitely be returning soon!

A group of 6 of us had a really good dinner on the patio and our server was great. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

Food was pretty good. We had the chicken and waffles with the salmon Benedict. Service was alright but very nice.

Two weeks later, our party of four sat at the same secluded window table as a previous reviewer. We too were disappointed that the windows were dirty with bits of grass or nest material clinging in the corners. The food and service were good but the view could have been improved.

We had breakfast and it was excellent value for money. The products are fresh and quality. The service is excellent! THANK YOU for this moment :)

Great service, beautiful view overlooking the water, terrible food. The best part of the breakfast was the bread which came from Pan Chancho. Kids pancakes must have come from a box mix and tasted like cardboard, the coffee was weak and watery. The eggs in the Eggs Benedict were good but the sauce was too sweet and the English muffin was soggy. At $4.50 for a glass of grapefruit juice you would think you would get real juice, it was grapefruit drink. So many great restaurants around in the area, this place is a big never again for me and the family. The hotel is very nice though. The view was great and so was the service. Delta hotel needs to do much better with this restaurant.

Nice view but no linens on the tables. For a higher end menu food quality was ok but not what one might expect at this price point. Might as well eat at the Keg. Calamari was rubbery and bland. Steak good but potatoes were mealy and reduction on steak was salty and likely from a mix. Green beans excellent. Son s seafood was pedestrian neither elevated nor terrible.

Unfortunately the food was absolutely atrocious. The Ribeye came out with so much fat and gristle - couldn t get one good bite. Left most of it on the plate. The Fillet was grey despite being cooked medium rare (but not really, had no pink). The tortellini was done al dente - which doesn t really work for that type of pasta. The French onion soup had an overpowering tomato flavour in the broth. The service was decent and they took care of two plates; but even after that - to spend $150 (drinks and soup), it was so disappointing. Left hungry.

Went there for our 34th anniversary and received mediocre service. Food was good but overpriced. Service was non existent. Will not go back.

Enjoyed a lunch with my wife and daughters celebrating my wifes bday a couple days early. Sat on the patio on a beautiful day - sun shining, water, boats, excellent and friendly server and fantastic food! Absolutely would go back.

We waited well over an hour for our food and finally after complaining they brought the food and it was cold. Eggs Benedict the eggs were hard and the sauce was tastless. So we sent it back. My mother in laws toast was so burnt it was black. So embarrassing this was my choice to come here. For an upscale restaurant you expect more. The server was lovely but since we were waiting so long you would think she would at least keep our drinks filled, but she never came around once. We were not the only people complaining there was a family beside us had little ones and were hungry so they started crying and they were there even longer than us. I heard the waitress apologize to several tables. Really not fair to her. Would not recommend

On Father s Day, I made a reservation at what was supposed to be one of Kingston s top brunch spots. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Despite waiting over an hour for our food, my hungry young kids (ages 5 and 2) struggled to cope. When the dishes finally arrived, they fell short of the quality I expected from a Delta hotel. My fish & chips were severely overcooked I couldn t even eat it. Meanwhile, my wife s salad had been marinating in vinaigrette for at least an hour. There was clearly a problem in the kitchen on that day as all the customers seemed to get the same disappointing experience...

A great view of the water and RMC from most tables. Lovely to see the sunset reflected by RMC etc. The food really is delicious. Ive been many times. The service is always a step above expectation. In summer months, there is also a patio.

The atmosphere is good but the service needs to get better! They seemed so busy.

I have been to Aquaterra many times over the years and I love the atmosphere and views! Historically the food has been really really good one of the best options in the Kingston area to eat anytime of the day. We decided to go out for our anniversary dinner this week and as usual the setting, ambiance and service were top notch. The food on the other hand was not. I ordered the filet mignon main medium well and it came well done which in itself is not a big deal at all as I don t mind well done steak. The steak however was as hard as a rock and I could barely chew it. I ate a few bites but couldn t stomach anything more, it came with a Yukon gold potato that was dry and tasteless (no butter or seasoning) and I ate about half of it. My wife s meal was the beef tortellini and the sauce was really tasty for it but the pasta was undercooked. The meal overall was really disappointing and surprising. We both agreed we won t be back and will stick to the consistency of Greco s or the Cavalier Room on our next outing.

Terrific place, nice view of the water, great food, friendly and professional service. If Catherine is your server, ask her for the macaroon sandwich. Update. Still a terrific place had the seafood chowder and chef salad. Both delicious.

If you are craving to have hair on your plate, this is a perfect place for you to eat. I found a hair on my steak and the server said that is their standard but because i am upset they deduct $4 from my bill. I will be filing an official report to health and safety tomorrow!

We had a great two hour lunch with beautiful views of Lake Ontario. The service was a friendly, relaxed pace and the food was unique and tasty. I wouldn t recommend it as a quick stop, but would definitely suggest it if you have time to enjoy a meal. Parking: We drove through the expensive hotel parking to the street parking by confederation park on Clarence Street. Much more reasonably priced and easy to find a spot on Friday at lunch. A bit weird to find, but don t be shy to drive in and out of the hotel lot as its an option they provide.

I wanted to book my Dads 80th birthday dinner at the restaurant. I asked if they could accommodate dinner for 9. Someone responded to my first email asking if the could call me. Yes! I received no call and no response to my three other emails. Very disappointed. I ended up booking the dinner and overnight stay at the Holiday Inn /Wharf and Feather, who responded to my request promptly.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Aqua tonight! Thank you to the chefs who prepared us ceasar salad, the scallop plate, the lobster ravioli dish and finishing off with the pumpkin cheesecake! They were all delicious. Generous portions, tasted great and looked beautiful. Top this off with our friendly and most helpful server Tyson; we couldn t have asked for better!

Thorougly enjoyed my Smoked salmon eggs Benedict, it was a real treat! The poached eggs were made exactly to how I ordered them, and the meal itself was made of high quality ingredients. The salad tasted very good as well. Overall it was a nice, healthy and balanced breakfast here at the hotel. The atmosphere is super nice, lots of bright natural light from the windows and staff is very attentive and professional. The view of the lakeside and frozen dock was a nice view to enjoy by the waterside. I enjoyed my experience here a lot, looking forward to coming back to dine here if Im ever around Kingston again

Incredible service such a cute patio and fun experience Patio menu is unreal Arancini for our starter and Steak frites was the PERFECT meal Loved the fire pits One thing is, I don t recommend wearing a dress for the patio with the Muskoka chairs !! Christmas Eve brunch inside was absolutely perfect.

Great French onion soup, everything else could use a bit more finesse

I picked this restaurant due to the online menu having options that my husband likes, as it was his birthday. I read the reviews after making the reservation, and decided to keep it, hoping for the best. Unfortunately, we had an overall negative experience. We must have waited 20 minutes before the waiter came to take our drink orders. A family was seated next to us about 3 minutes before this. It appeared that he had forgotten about us. Throughout the meal we noticed that the waiter accommodated our neighbors with small things. They were given a pitcher of water; the waiter took their order before us; they were asked if there were any dietary restrictions; they received their food before us; the waiter checked in on them; and they were offered dessert. We did not receive this same level of service. I looked at other tables (maybe our neighbors requested the pitcher of water ) no all the tables had one. We were not asked about dietary restrictions, nor dessert. While our neighbors finished their meals paid and left, I had to ask the waiter for our check several times, and we waited a long time for it to arrive. While ordering, we asked several questions about the menu, of which the waiter kept replying that he would have to ask. Maybe he was new? He didn t even know if they had orange soda for my daughter. These are all small things, but they add up. I think the service at this restaurant is hit or miss, which is absurd for a high end restaurant. When you go to a restaurant that charges these prices, the service must match. I believe that the service should be consistent, delivering, and knowledgeable. I almost wonder if we were being discriminated against for some reason. We were dressed down, not shabby looking, but not suits and dresses either. We are American I don t know, but we certainly were not given the same wonderful experience as our neighbors were given. As far as the food goes the menu was not the same as what I saw online. Apparently it changes often, which was disappointing. In addition, the options were extremely limited. I ordered the pumpkin mazzaluna (excuse the spelling). I didn t enjoy this at all. The mushroom ragú was good, but I have had better. My husband had the beef tenderloin, which he enjoyed very much. I tried his, and it was quite good. We ordered the sourdough bread to share, but all agreed something was really off with it. I will say that our waiter brought us a different loaf, but it was still off. To the waiter s credit, he took the bread off the bill. All in all, I have to give a thumbs down on this restaurant. I don t recommend it. You may or may not receive the experience you are hoping for. If you don t, then you ll be spending upwards of $150-$200 or more for a mediocre meal and congruently the service at a high end restaurant where you pay for every item on the menu. I recommend that this restaurant train staff better to be consistent with every customer that comes to be served I understand that you can t make everyone happy, but you need to aim higher than 50/50, when you are exuding a higher level dining experience you have to at least try and match it, as close as is possible, for each and every customer.

Great atmosphere and great food! It is a more expensive restaurant, but the food was amazing! I had a ribeye that was perfectly medium rare and so buttery and melt in your mouth it was very good!

Very high quality food, the service was okay a little awkward. Definitely got my moneys worth of food. Would go back the charcuterie, venison and tuna was to die for.

Staff were so friendly when we came during the summer. Even though we came at closing, they still offered us a seat and said they could probably still get the kitchen to make us something small and serve us drinks. We declined because we didnt want to be those types of customers, but 5 stars for the service. Hope to come back to review the food next time.

Wasnt crazy about the Valentines special 3 course a bit of ham floating in red cabbage. and they ran out of bread husbands fish while it was good was verrrry tiny think they may have run out of it too.

Disappointing. The ambience and the views are lovely. Wait staff personable and attentive. The let down was the food which was ordinary at best, some dishes distinctly poor, particularly at premium prices. The Taleggio was small and tasty-ish but came out with burned bread pieces which would be unacceptable at $10 let alone $25. The two sandwiches mains we had were uninspired and little better than we could have made at home. We had had high hopes for this place. We wont be back.

I have been here 4 times in several party sizes for dinner, brunch., and the fireplace patio and it is always terrific. The brunch and dinner menus are excellent and consistently good, I would say that the fireplace seasonal patio menu is not up to par with the regular menu, but it is good for the experience with friends. The service has always been great with the exception of one mishap with my friends peanut allergy. I would definitely recommend this place.

I went for a light supper and had the French Onion Soup and the Ceasars salad. I must say, I was surprised by both! The broth for the soup is absolutely delicious and they do not hold back on the cheese. The salad was also tasty, with the bacon being the highlight for me, crispy and smokey! Yummy!

This is average review from an average guy. The view and atmosphere here are great. The prices are expensive, but not outrageous. The quality and taste of the food was a bit disappointing. Not bad, but not as good as Id expect for the price point. Service is just okay. Very average. Not very fast. Not very attentive. Would I visit again? Absolutely not, there are too many better options just a short walk away.

We enjoy having lunch here with the view of the harbour. The food is good and we have a good time.

The restaurant manager Kevin was very rude. We made a reservation 1 day in advance, and when we arrived at the restaurant from Toronto, Kevin said that we do not have your reservation in the system, and this is not my problem. we tried in every possible way to look through the list of incoming phone calls, but he refused. He is a very uncommunicative person!

7pm reservation. Our food took 50 minutes to come out. My steak was rare when I asked for medium rare and COLD. My husbands food was also cold but he enjoyed it. Been here before service and food was amazing. Food was mediocre at best. Could have got a better steak at Montanas. The manager comped my meal at least so that was the only good thing.

This place is located inside the hotel. There are gorgeous views of the water. The service is professional. The food is very overpriced; however for a restaurant of this kind, the portions are quite sizable. The dress code here is implicitly buisiness casual.

Overpriced. Atmosphere is nice and beautiful being right by the water. But honestly, the food wasn t what I was expecting at all. For the price, I expected way better tasting food.

I would like to give them 5 stars. The awesome location, outstanding staff and the taste of the food was good. But the portion sizes are very small. We had shared apps a main course and went to a pub afterwards and all ordered food because we all hungry. I get very high prices, cheapest bottle of red wine on the menu is $70, but part of the experience is leaving satisfied not full.

Had dinner outside by the water. We enjoyed a delicious caesar salad with chicken, a 613 salad with chicken. Portions were small so we shared a side order of fries, extremely tasty fries. I have mocktails everywhere I go but their Tahiti treat was great! Service was great too. Our server was very attentive. The next morning, we went downstairs for breakfast. Once again, the food was very tasty (fungi connection french omelet and scrambled eggs with Pan Chancho bread). The young lady who served us breakfast was extremely professional and discretely came to see if everything was to our satisfaction. We recommend this place and will definitely go back in near future.

Had a chicken sandwich and salad,... cold old bun and tough dry small chicken with a tiny salad drenched in dressing was disgusting.

AquaTerra is a definite go-to if you re looking for amazing cuisine, the best of the best in service, beautiful decor and a stunning view. The menu is varied and features some amazing meals with uniqueness. The drink menu is also impressive with its long list of signature cocktails. I had the scallops with lobster bisque, and it was delicious. The service was absolutely astounding, I would say the best I ve ever had. Staff was very friendly, extremely generous and had great knowledge of the menu. The marina covers the entire outside view of the restaurant which makes for great scenery. The decor of the restaurant was also immaculate, with even the tableware perfectly set-up to match the colours and ambience of the place. 5/5 for everything, an overall great experience.

Amazing experience at Aquaterra. Perfect for celebrating a special night and enjoying beautiful cuisine. The scallops and agnolotti were delicious and we got to try the Octopus dish as a weekly special. Service was timely and friendly. I did feel the wine list was a bit small but there are options for every taste.

The patio at Aqua Terra is lovely. Nice shaded patio right along the harbour. A beautiful view! The menu offers local ingredients, cooked and plated to perfection. The KOOC Burrata-fresh tomatoes on a bed of house made pesto, topped with fresh Burrata cheese and sourdough bread. This was absolutely delicious. Vibrant, flavourful and very fresh. I already want more. Steak and frites- Super tender grilled local striploin steak topped with a delicious compound butter, confit garlic aioli, with house cut rosemary salt fries. The salty fries compliment the beef so nicely! Jerk spiced tofu- marinated chunks of tofu, with a pineapple pico de gallo, local asparagus and broccolini with the most delcious peanut ginger sauce. Cocktails- Mango Spicy Marg, Golden hour mojito, Summertime mule, and the Key Largo. All of the cocktails were SO DELICIOUS. If you re looking for an amazing meal with a great view this is your spot!

16 bx for a glass of sangria made with cheap wine..30$ for a ok humberger..just go somewhere else..no parking and the hotel is on renovation..alot of noise..I will not recommend for anyone. We have so much good restaurants here and alot cheaper with better service.. Dietary restrictions: They have some things from everyone.

Loved the food and ambience of this place! We were glad to choose Aqua Terra for our anniversary celebration..

Server was sweet and trying hard to be efficient but kitchen obviously way behind. 50 minutes between appetizer and main, 1.5 hours here and still no main course. Food was not appetizing. Oysters ok but tiny. Sausage appetizer very tough and dry. Lobster roll had two bits of lobster lol and pork for tacos was over cooked, tasteless and dry. Terrible food and poor service for $180.00 for two, not worth it for the view. Definitely won t be back any time soon.

Food was nothing comparable to +4 stars! Service was 5 and our waiter did everything to make this 5 stars rating. Only good item was charcuterie but again not great. French onion soup had flavor of honey and that was it! Asked for spices and waiter did confirm it needed some. Scallops dish had 5 scallops dime size - main dish! @ $45 and overcooked . Windows have not been cleaned for years in our corner. Absolutely not what we expected! Stay away as value is not there

Every visit is first rate. Food quality, presentation, professional friendly staff. This was my first opportunity to enjoy the patio .. lovely setting, excellent pandemic protocols.

This was by far, the best food and restaurant weve had/been to since moving back to ontario 4 years ago. Amazing food, not one complaint about any of it between 4 people. Nice local beer selection that isnt the same as everyone elses local beer selection. Really great waitress. Great service. Clean bathrooms. 6/5

We had the most lovely server who was so good at anticipating our needs and setting up a very enjoyable meal. I wish I remembered to ask his name. He brought out the meal courses with perfect timing and our water glass never stayed empty. The food was absolutely delicious. It was filling but not too heavy and you could tell it was all made with great care. We especially loved the scallops, the lobster patatino and the ribeye steak. Oh AND the crème brulé and sticky toffee pudding were both to die for at the end of the meal. We were staying at the Delta for a visit and if I am back in the area, I would definitely come back for a delicious treat.

Went on a date here. Amazing service, really quiet and private place, and they have inside parking so you dont have to walk miles in heels! Loved the food! I would recommend the duck, it was delicious! AND the Crème Brulée! Dietary restrictions: He was really open about changing the menus if we had dietary restrictions!

Ate here for our anniversary dinner and had a great experience. Started with amuse bouche courtesy of the chef and then shared the Escargot (see photo). My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Coq au Vin and I ordered the Beef Tenderloin (see photo). Beef was cooked perfectly and buttery-tender. Thanks to Andrew for great service.

Had brunch here and it was so good that we came back for dinner. We were only passing through town on the way back to Toronto, from Montreal. I have reviewed a lot of restaurants and I can say this place was just perfect. The atmosphere with all the big windows and modern jazz vibes felt cozy and chic. The service and the drinks were impeccable. The food was excellent. Some of the best food I have ever had in my life. The menu had something for everyone and was very well though out. Lots of internationally inspired dishes that I did not expect to see. Whoever made the menu selections is a genius. I had the chicken & waffles and my wife had the steak and eggs. We shared the Kanafs pancakes for brunch. For dinner we had the French onion soup, soup of the day, the steak and the lamb chops. Everything was cooked to perfection. Kudos to the chef! I think his name is Rahul. For brunch we were served by Duncan and for dinner it was Andrew. Shout out to Laughlin at the bar for those smoked old fashions. There is not a single negative from my experience here. I would drive to Kingston to eat here again this place needs a michellin star. Parking: We parked for free to eat at the restaurant

Lovely restaurant right on the water - you can get a nice view from inside as well as at their patio along the waterfront path. Very interesting and delicious food and drinks. I got the scallops which were delicious! The wild leek and pea risotto was also surprisingly amazing!

Really nice date night! The food was generally good, but some things were a little over seasoned. The caprazella salad had a too much pepper, and they went a little overboard seasoning the short ribs

We enjoyed the menu, the setting and the view. The wine ordered was sold out and the waiter presented us with another bottle without informing us of the price. The price ultimately was majority of a quarter. We find the process disingenuous.

Service was a 6 out of 5. Marco was great from start to finish. Ambiance is nice with the big windows over looking the harbour but, it is still a hotel restaurant so there was a big loud table of what I am guessing was a group of travelling business people at the next table over from us so try as they might, it is not the nicest high end restaurant atmosphere unfortunately. Food is very good. The rib eye was cooked a touch over the requested med rare but, a good quality cut so still tender and delicious. The steak frites was good. The scallops where cooked perfectly but only 5 little scallops on a big bed of somewhat gummy/salty risotto. Ideally they could add 2 or 3 more scallops, halved the risotto and thrown a few green beans on the plate and it would be perfect. Calamari and cheese cake where both delicious. Over all, it was a very enjoyable evening and I would highly recommend dining here. We will be back for sure.

Yesterday diner with colleagues at AquaTerra was a great experience. The view from indoor was beautiful , the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Our server was very friendly and very helpful especially in finding out about some of my diet restrictions in food from the chef. The Arctic Char ,Chocolate Torte, bread and butter were delicious and perfect. Looking forward to try the patio next time.

Good location but vmediocre food. Ordered Steak and fries and seriously sub standard.

We were a little disappointed, but then our expectations were pretty high. My wife had the lamb. The lamb itself was a little tasteless and the sides (baba ghanoush) were overpowering. I had the scallops. They and the risotto were excellent, but the addition of prosciutto ham was unnecessary and kind of ruined it. Our waiter was fantastic and he even threw in a couple of comp deserts as it was our anniversary. Overall ambiance of the place was fine, but for $200, you can eat much better in a dozen other Kingston restaurants within 1km of this one.

Terrific location on the water with tasty food and truly great service. We ate here for dinner and breakfast and both were great experiences.

We had dinner at the Aqua Terra Patio. A nice place, located in Kingston Harbour. The service is impeccable, the food is good, but the price is too high for a hamburger for which you have to pay extra for the bacon and cheese.

I came here for a work lunch with some colleagues yesterday. Our server Duncan was very kind and considerate considering we had a party of 10. Absolutely no complaints about the service, it was fantastic! However, the food here was not great. For a fine-dining restaurant, I was thoroughly disappointed with the food served. I ordered the angel hair puttanesca, and the pasta was not only undercooked (very chewy and tough, I assume this is par-boiled), but it wasnt even angel hair? It was thicker than a spaghetti noodle. If youre going to put a specific type of pasta on your menu, make sure youre serving the right kind. I also ordered the creme brulee, but the caramelized sugar at the top was barely burned and tasted sugary/grainy, instead of being a hard caramel as it should be. The restaurant was great about compensating for our meals but I simply wouldnt come back to a restaurant that doesnt have good food.

Pumpkin French toast - sooooo good. Presentation lovely. We were meeting a colleague and needed a few minutes more to finish up business after we ate. Appeared the restaurant was cleaning for the lunch crowd but they applied no pressure. So accommodating. Waitress shared info on jam selection and other points of interest. Nice touch. Lovely location!

Succulent, good flavor, well served. Expensive for $34 small portion of steak, but succulent and good atmosphere. Book in advance!!

Beautiful view! Food was good but my my favorite. The French onion soup taste like it was a tomato base. Not my favorite but the cheese and bread was delicious. Steak frites was great. The truffle butter and fries are AMAZING flavor. The chorizo shrimp was probably what I was disappointed with the most. It just did not live up to what I imagined. Flavor was all from the chorizo the shrimp was a bit bland

The food was a total disappointment. Scallops, all 5 of them were the size of quarters and the risotto was totally bland. It said there was pecorino cheese on it but you needed a microscope to find it. My wife s beet salad was bland. Basically it was a pedestrian meal at 5 star prices. Oh sorry, the service was good and that s why it got at least 2 stars.

Enjoyed the lamb, it was a complex dish with many components, and enjoyed the chocolate cake - comes with specs of gold leaf! Restaurant has great views and our server was phenomenal.

Four people for what we thought would be a nice dinner. Two ordered the brick chicken. Disappointed. One person ordered black cod and it was tasteless for the price. I usually really enjoy a trip to AquaTerra. This is not a restaurant that we go to often because our bill normally costs more than we spend on groceries in a week. Unfortunately last night s meal has left me with feeling duped . The surf and turf- the most expensive menu item at $65 is described a tenderloin and lobster tail. What I got was a tenderloin and half a lobster tail barely larger than a jumbo shrimp. Even though I was begging to be called Karen I spoke to manager who told me I was the second person that evening to complain. Although polite and personable he did not offer anything other than that he would let the kitchen know. Very disappointing - fine dining offering shrinkflation as an excuse for profit.

This would have been a 5 star review if our server Ella didnt rush us/check up on us every 2 minutes and say things like the bar is closing soon (at 930pm. The website says theyre open until 11 so that was confusing). We were so stoked to go enjoy the fire tables on the patio, but I would turn around if I saw ella serving the patio again. She did not make me feel welcome my 1st time there and I would not go back if she was serving again.

Over priced with 18% service charge. Literally nothing on the plate and flavorless. Go outside the hotel and youll be able to find much better food and value.

Portuguese French Toast, risotto, chicken breast and steak dishes and dessert was fantastic at Aquaterra. BUT, Beware of Aquaterra morning staff. I stayed at Delta (hotel above the restaurant) Aquaterra has a policy of charging a fee if food is delivered to the room (take it as tip if you may). I spent $15-$20 on breakfast and not wanting it to add up over my week+ stay, I would go down and pick it up and fill out the receipt with my total. 1) A young (blonde) Male server, took a while to get my breakfast bagged and ready and insisted I just sign it while he will fill it out, he persisted saying my food was getting cool and he will take care of it. Trusting this gentleman, I thought nothing of it. That is until my last day there. 2) I ordered breakfast to go on checkout day, went down to pick it up and a young brunette (female with glasses) had already written a tip amount. I said I picked it up there is no charge (reminding her of the policy). Her reply its really not fair for you to not tip, were really busy today. Whats worse, the bill had been sent to the front desk and had been paid for already. With my ride waiting outside, I left with a distrusting opinion of the staff.

Undoubtedly the worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. The service was so bad my girlfriend and I had a good laugh. So I guess it has comedic value going for it. We waited 45 minutes for a menu. It never arrived... and the place was almost empty. We left. Olivea restaurant saved the day. I highly recommend that place instead.

A fabulous water front restaurant beside St. Lawrence River of Lake Ontario in Kingston, Ontario! Unobstructed River view even you are not sitting beside the windows! The restaurant was well placed and organized and clean! The service was excellent, prompt, and responsive! My waiter James was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the dishes! The bar has many unique, colourful, and interesting cocktails! I had a Maple Cozy. And it was very flavourful! Also, had a Curried Pumpkin Soup and Crusted Ahi Tuna! The Pumpkin Soup was creamy and thick with pumpkin seeds on the top! Very tasty! The Ahi Tuna was crusted skin and soft, juicy, and tender meat inside plus the beautiful presentation! Exceptional! So, decided to come back to try the breakfast at the second day! Had a Belgian Waffle! Crunchy and warm and sweet with the maple syrup combined! Super! Definitely will come back next time in town! Highly recommended!

I rarely review if its not a good one but of all the restaurants weve been to in Kingston, this one was extremely strange. We brought some high-profile guests that were visiting from Gatineau. From the confusing menu with no true winners, to the servers recommendations being what not to get here instead of what we should order, and the server dropping the bottle of wine at the table and me having to open it and pour it myself, Im truly disappointed by the amount of money we paid for this experience. I tried to order the pasta and the server said, Do you like al dente pasta? Because this dish has been sent back 3 times today already. Face. Palm! I dont think Ill be back unfortunately. Please take your out-of-town guests to a place that wont embarrass the city of great eats!

My husband and I went for dinner for our anniversary, after a very trying time with a newborn we figured we needed a special night out when the grandmas insisted. Of course we got there late and felt awful as the kitchen was about to close, but the waiter was very courteous and understanding and they took our order despite that. He got the special, pork loin, and I got the braised short rib pappardelle. Both were delicious, well seasoned and on point. Dessert was a chocolate torte, slightly frozen on account of them likely closing up. Aside from a few overheard snide comments from some other wait staff about us being late, our waiter was great and didn t make us feel bad about keeping him. Overall, a nice experience. Would go earlier next time for the better view and to avoid the snarky comments.

If youre at the hotel for a work trip, dont bother with this place. Itll take anywhere from 45 mins to 1.5 hr to get food. I asked what the hold up was cause I had only an hour for lunch. They said that the restaurant is fine dining and its not casual, so I had to temper my expectations. Dude, i paid 30 bucks for a burger looking like this and theyre calling it fine dining ? A&W down the street can serve better burger and fries with higher quality ingredients and presentation, all under 10 minutes lmao.

Very disappointed with the experience myself and my in-laws had at this restaurant this past Saturday afternoon. We had all come in from out of town for a nice family meal and get together (we even had the private room) only to wait close to 2 hours for our lunches to arrive. When we inquired as to the long wait we were told a table of 22 was seated and they prioritized their table pushing our table behind them. Completely unacceptable. Had it not been for my husbands 90 year-old grandmother (who was starving) I would have had us all walk out and go to another restaurant. We made the best of it, but it wrecked our nice family dinner. Will never ever come back here again. My husband ordered the gnocchi pasta and got a total of 5 gnocchi in the entire dish for like $30.

Great restaurant!

Had dinner and drinks with a friend at the beginning of October on the patio. The set up was cozy and the blankets were much appreciated. Our serve was Conor and he was great, very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. We ordered the mulled wine and the apple cider mimosa; both delicious. For dinner we had the burger and the duck poutine, came out hot and well cooked. And for desert we had the s mores board. Such a fun way to end a meal on a patio by a fire! My only comment would be the Adirondack chairs aren t the easiest chair to eat a meal in, but most of the patio food was meant to be snacked on vs an actual knife and fork meal. Will definitely be coming back to the patio, and will be trying the other different menus they offer!

My husband and I have been coming to Aqua Terra for 5 years and we have always enjoyed our experience and food. We always ask for a window table the view of the water is beautiful, relaxing and romantic. They change their menu seasonally so we are always trying new things here. The food and service is phenomenal they are always accommodating which keeps us coming back.

I ate here lastnight and the food was really good. Caesar salad was amazing, froie Gras was amazing and the gnocchi was fantastic! Service was attentive and not overwhelming. Prices were average for a hotel. All said and done, it was a great meal and I would go back.

What a diappointment. Ordered haddock fish and chips. Fish was overcooked blackened. Less I say for fries better. I had taken guest with me which made me feel so bad. This restaurant is called Fine dining hope they improve quailty to meet that standard.

Bad service. Super slow. Argumentative manager. Not worth it.
