WORST BIRYANI EVER (Please read the entire review, Being an Indian, I have had biryani all across my country and I can bet what they served was not biryani) I visited Darbar based on google reviews where they suggested it to serve the best chicken biryani in the town. They just served turmeric rice with some cooked chicken which is surely not what biryani is. I even had to pay for the raita separately (raita is included with the biryani, not some slice of tomato and cucumber, see images), stop looting in the name of authentic food. If you are having it for the first time, please do not ever have biryani from this place else you will spoil your taste to ever go for real biryanjs again. And Darbar restaurant you really need to improve the quality, things dont work out this way for long. You can fool others but surely not people for whom these foods their cuisine! TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED! If you don’t believe this, read all the reviews by Indians for the Indian cuisine they serve!
We ordered butter chicken and shrimp korma. The curries were exactly the same sweet coconut curry and not like any butter chicken or korma I've ever had (not in a good way). The appetizer platter was tasty but tiny for the price. The Darbar special rice had no salt. Definitely not ordering from here again.
I’d like to preface this by saying that we have ordered from Darbar for many years, and have always loved the food and service. However, two weeks ago we got takeout with my parents and my 89 yr Dad ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance, due to a piece of (what we think) was cinnamon stick getting caught in his throat. We ordered the Darbar rice, which does not mention cinnamon. However after reading the menu again, the Paleo rice does mention “flavoured with fresh cinnamon” Perhaps we received the wrong rice dish? In any case, there were obvious pieces of cinnamon sticks in the rice, which I tried to remove before serving. However as seen in this picture, there were small pieces of either cinnamon stick or some other raw spice throughout the rice. We had to call 911 and after an X-ray and endoscopy, it was discovered that a partial piece of cinnamon stick(?) was lodged in his esophagus. He is fine now but is on antibiotics for three weeks to heal the esophagus from the damage that was caused. All to say, please check the rice dishes before eating!!! Or any other dish for that matter!! And yes, I will be in contact with the restaurant…just do not want this to happen to anyone else.
Best indian food in town!! I have been going here for a while now and the food is always amazing!! The lunch special is so worth it and the owner is great!
PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I have never had worse butter chicken in my entire life. As you can tell by the picture, the dish served was nowhere close to butter chicken. Upon checking and confirming with the waiter/owner, we were told that it was ‘English Style’. To make it worse, chicken wasn’t cooked properly and was visibly pink from inside and chewy! To anyone expecting the food to be a true representation of Indian food, taste and spices, this is the last place you’d want to go.
It’s unbelievable that this place is operating since years. They server food which is noway close to authentic indian food.. We ordered matar panner , dal tadka , biryani and naan.. The panner was very chewy and you can hardly find panner pieces, the dal tadka was average and biryani was actually veg pulav .. frozen veggies added to rice.. The worse was Naan. I haven’t seen any indian resturante serving pita bread in the name of naan .. Funny thing the garlic naan was basically garlic seasoning over pita bread .. Save your time and money and please avoid this place.
Worst food i have ate in canada in the name of Indian cuisine. The funny thing is that Owner told me he is operating this restaurant for 32 years, It is such a shame that still serve such a pathetic food, feels sorry for residents and students of kingston. Google does not allow 0 ratings otherwise I would have given that, and I want my money back, that is pure cheating against indian food. Please avoid this restaurant. Biryani was not even rice pulav see the picture your self. Matar paneer just had boiled peas and some panner no gravy at all, see picture as proof. Look at the Naan, they are the one you get ready-made from Walmart and chargedme 4 cad for that, we ordered both regular and garlic but they both are same.
The ambiance, interiors and setup is pretty amazing. The round window seats overlooking the streets provide a wonderful vibe. The staff is friendly however they were pretty below in serving and we had to wait for a long time to get our orders despite us being the only people who were dining in. We saw multiple delivery orders picked up during our dine in. As we weren't local to Kingston so we had no other option than to wait. Coming to the food, we had ordered Lassi in drinks that was mango flavored, we didn't expect that was coming. The Mulligatawny soup we ordered was pretty thin in consistency. The tea was okay. For the main course we had ordered chicken tikka masala which we didn't like in terms of taste and cooking. The chicken pieces didn't at all taste like tikka, it was like the same cubes used in butter chicken. The prawn phatia was too sweet in taste. The mixed veg was Average. Overall an average experience with a huge room for improvement in terms of food taste.
Should ve read the reviews before ordering. The absolute worst adaptation of a butter chicken dish, and somehow even the rice wasn t all that good. Either rename the butter chicken dish or make a real butter chicken.
Best Indian food in Kingston. Beware, getting the spicy vindaloo will definitely test your limits.
Darbar never fails to disappoint. Excellent service, delicious food, clean, and following all covid protocol. Happy to see lots of pickups and deliveries coming and going while we ate.
I ve been ordering from here for over 20 years and it s always been excellent quality
Delicious, good portions and a kind waiter. A rare restaurant that answers phone for takeout and delivery and the paper takeout menu is lower prices than the apps
My fav place to eat in Kingston
Best food and service!
Such yummy food! Went there with a group of friends and loved the butter chicken so much I had to go back for more! The dish was very unique given its sweet flavour. Would definitely recommend along with the mango chutney & garlic naan!
My favourite Indian restaurant ever! Tarka dhal is the best you ll ever have.
I was the only person there, but Ashok was super nice. Had a short conversation and then he gave me some truly fire samosas. They weren t huge, but they were excellent. Perfectly crunchy deep fried outside and mild, delicious filling. Would for sure go again for a proper meal.
Awesome lunch! Great service, great food, great environment and yummy left overs. Darbar is our favourite Indian Restaurant in Kingston..We have been going there for 25 years and have never been disappointed. Thank you!!
The staff sarcastically asked why I did not give a tip. He said its not a fastfood chain. Tip is given voluntarily for an over all worthy experience though. I ordered a $15 combo based on the menu (chix, rice, bread, water) he suggested but the bill totalled $25 plus. Time: 10:45 am 4/17/24.
bad experience bad service the server was staring and eavesdropping. so awkward time there
Bad service. First and last visit to this restaurant. The server was constantly staring at us and eve s dropping at me and my friends , had no professionalism at all, started clearing the table without asking. Food
The server is stairing us while serving thats feel us awfward . Please, teach him or change with someone.
My experience is very bad in this restaurant because of less customer service and rude behavior of worker.
The best Indian food in Kingston.
Best curry in town!!!
Quite simply, Darbars is the best Indian restaurant in the Kingston area (trust me, Ive tried them all!). My family and I are originally from the UK, although weve lived in Kingston for >20 years now. Weve always loved Indian food and Darbars is better than most of the Indian restaurants we used to love back in the UK (of which there were many!). Not only is the food seriously good, but their portions are noticeably larger than other restaurants. Any one of the their main meals is easily enough for two adults. When we have a family occasion and I ask what everyone wants, they invariably ask for a Darbars ... and I never argue! I love their Lamb Madras; but it is perhaps a little hot for many tastes. My wifes favorite is the Lamb Korma. The Chicken Tikka Masala is also fantastic. I can honestly say that weve never been disappointed in all the many years weve been ordering food from there. I even enjoy the banter with the staff there about Indian vs English cricket! They are most definitely worthy of 5 stars.
Love Darbar, order every time I am in Kingston
Yellow Butter Chicken??? It was not Butter Chicken. It was so sweet a diabetic would be calling 911. This restaurant is not Indian food. An hour to get it with 2 tables being served. The menu or website do not have photos so you have no idea if you have no experience in Indian food. The waiter was useless. Nope,,,never again.
Awesome food. Great bang for your buck. Feels like quality.
Disappointed. The butter chicken has 0 tomato in it, and tasted oddly like bacon, please change the name of this dish, because it is not butter chicken. The Lamb Rogan Josh was quite good. The Darbar rice was a bit too fragrant but to each their own. The samosas had probably the worst filling I ve tasted in 35 years.
Do not order from here. I dont think I have ever written a 1 star review. I am contacting my credit card company for a chargeback for this disgusting joke of dinner. Two of the dishes we received (Shahi paneer & paneer muglai) were almost empty. Literally there was a couple tablespoons of food. Paneer was very old and hard. Very oily and disgusting. We paid $50 for empty containers of food. Avoid this place at all costs. Hopefully we can get our money back.
I was there for lunch today and once again it was excellent. The best bhaji in Kingston as well as the chicken korma .
Vegetarian options: The vegtable samosas were delicious! Food
Food was delicious with the nice people and high quality dine in set up, your experience will be Super!
I was walking past the back entrance to the restaurant and saw two kitchen staff in their aprons - one was smoking partially inside the kitchen, and the other was sitting on the ground with pigeons on his lap feeding them. Approximately 30 pigeons. I wish this was a joke.
I used to go here all the time. The food is always good. However, the restaurants lunch hours have been reduced. Our lunch party was waiting for a friend to join us. We got there at noon and by 12:15 our friend had still not arrived. It was at that point the waiter came by and curtly told us that they were closing at 1 pm. As we were not sure when our friend would join us, we decided that we would go someplace else. When leaving we turned around to check the hours as we could have sworn it was 2 pm that they closed, but the sign read lunch until 1:30 pm (but not 1 pm as was told to us). Our friend showed up at 12:30 and had we not been feeling that we were putting the restaurant out we would have stayed and enjoyed lunch. The following week a friend and I went there for dinner. I would not have gone except that it was my friends birthday and they wanted to go there. What a completely different experience. The waiters were most pleasant and the food was good.
Food and service was amazing will be coming back
I ve only had dine in for dinner. But we ve never had any issues; welcoming environment, gracious staff & and amazing food!
Great biryani. I ordered the chicken biryani at max spicy and it was delicious. I would recommend getting it mild though.
I have eaten here for years! When we were students, we used to come weekly and now that we ve moved away, we come and visit a few times a year. The owner is so kind and still remembers us when we come in. The food here is amazing. It s the best Indian food we ve ever had. I am now vegan, and they are so accommodating. Most of their veggie dishes can be made vegan. The flavours are so delicious. I recommend Darbar wholeheartedly. Now I need another trip to Kingston :) Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options here and most of them can be prepared vegan. Just make sure to ask. Parking: There are a few parking spots behind the restaurant.
Delicious as usual.
Awful.. waste of money. butter chicken tasted like no other butter chicken I ve ever had, my son (who loves BC) couldn t eat a second bite. Saag Paneer was watery, clearly frozen spinach in a puddle of water. Vindaloo was too spicy to eat.
Grand
We dropped by at this restaurant during our two nights visit to Kingston from Toronto. This was by far the best chicken biryani Ive tried. Just the right balance of spices used by the chef.
Our go to spot for special occasions.
Love me some Darbar! I order from here far too often. Always happy with the food and service!
My family has eaten at this restaurant or ordered takeaway many times over many years. Most recently we ordered a great meal to go from Darbar a couple of weeks ago (Thanksgiving weekend). The reviews I m reading on here are surprising as our food has always been so tasty! My husband and I have ordered the soya dansak a couple of times because we re vegetarian. It was delicious both times. The paneer dishes we ve ordered have also always been excellent. My Mom and her husband have always enjoyed the lamb dish they get. My husband and I have eaten at a number of different Indian food restaurants in a few different countries (including Italy of all places). Darbar in Kingston ranks amongst the highest for us in terms of food quality and flavour. Signed, Jennifer & Chris Mark & Shirley (sandm) Vegetarian options: Try the soya dansak! Wonderfully spicy!
Very poor food quality and service
Butter chicken is dog water. Doesn t taste like butter chicken at all
Great food and service.
Worst butter chicken ever, its shouldnt even be called butter chicken. Maybe sugar chicken sugar, or diabetes chicken. Anything but butter chicken, taste horrible and barley has chicken.
Best Indian cuisine in Kingston. Every dish is exactly the way you hope it would be.
Yummy! Love the butter chicken and saag beef
I have been a regular customer for 10+ years. I have tried every curry restaurant in Kingston and this one is by far the best one! They are able to make the vindaloo hotter and can do extreme heat also. If you want spicy vindaloo come here!
Been coming here for years and the food has always been amazing. Super big portions, I always have leftovers for lunch. Biryani is the best I ve ever had and the garlic naan bread is to die for. Look forward to every single meal!
Food was delicious. They know how to cook spicy food.
DarBar is consistently delicious. My wife and I like our staple dishes (Lamb Madras, Chana Masala & Butter Chicken) so much that we always order them and then try another. The left overs the next day are just as good. Try other Indian places if you must, there are many good ones in Kingston, but DarBar rules them all. Best Indian restaurant in Kingston - hands down.
Wont answer your call
Very friendly and helpful owner
This is the second time I have been dissapointed in an so called Indian restaurant at Kingston. No taste at all in any of the cuisine we ordered and they made us wait for atleast 1 hour even though we were the only one at the restaurant.
Incredible food, good price. to summarize: yummy in my tummy
Darbar is our go to for Indian cuisine. The food is always incredibly tasty and the service is excellent! The best Indian food in Kingston.
The service was good, but food taste was bad and expensive! There are no washrooms on the main level and there is no elevator access for older people to use the washroom
This place should be fined for even calling themselves Indian cuisine, worst experience ever. Mutter Paneer was just boiled and mixed, worst butter chicken, ever. Spent 70$ with delivery and tips for butter chicken, mutter paneer and one Naan. Never ever gonna order from their. They are overrated and I am sure these are false reviews. Shame on you!
Ordered chicken tikka curry and tandoori chicken. Both were really amazing. Definitely will recommend this place. And will come again
I ve been ordering from Darbar for over 20 years. Best in Kingston in my opinion. The food has so much flavour! I order Beef Madras, Chicken Dansak, Tarka Daal, Mixed Vegetable, etc. The Vindaloo is great, too. The Butter Chicken is very light, I m told(since I don t eat the Butter Chicken).
Always excellent
Excellent service. All dishes were more than superb and tasty. We will definitely return to Darbar.
Best Indian restaurant in Kingston! I am a long time customer and I cant believe some of the bad reviews. Service is sometimes slow due to take out orders but I have never had anything less than great food. Always hot when served and flavor is very on point. My favorite dish is the Bombay Potato which I usually enjoy with Naan and Onion Baji. Hope this place is around for decades to come!
We got takeout but the atmosphere within the restaurant was amazing. The staff were very friendly and informative. We got the chicken tika masala and the paneer tika masala.... so good! 100% recommend, especially because they are a small local business!
Have been a repeat customer for years now! We tend to get the same items, they re our tried and true faves - Chicken Tikka Masala, Karhai Beef, Darbar Rice, and Garlic Naan. Absolutely delicious every time! I will say, I ve also tried the Butter Chicken and it was a no for me, like others have expressed. It seems depending on what you order, it can be a hit or miss, but it s all subjective really.
Good food nice atmosphere Parking: They have parking behind the building
The dine in seems to take a while so be prepared to wait, but I liked the food, and the server was accommodating. Not sure what everyone is complaining about but this place has the best prices so I eat here often! Go with friends so you can try lots of different things.
I ll be honest, this place has ruined other Indian restaurants for me, nothing else quite compares to the quality of food and service you get here. I recommend this place to all my friends.
We ordered take out for tikka masala, qorma, samosas, and gulab jamun. The qorma was extremely sweet to the point where I couldnt taste my pop. Everything else was amazing and I would definately try the other curries next time.
Best Indian food in Kingston! The naan is amazing! Sometimes the vegetarian curries can be a little bland. Their lunch special is excellent value.
The food we had was pretty bland. my chicken korma certainly had a lot of chicken in it, but it was large chunks of dry, over-cooked chicken breast in a thin insipid sauce. My companions vegetarian dish also lacked body and the rich flavours that we expect from Indian food. I know many people who rave about Darbar, but we will not be ordering from them again.
Service was terrible. Came in and felt Very awkward to eat when owner is watching your every move.
Grew up in Kingston and have tried all downtown restaurants in Kingston. This is up there with the best. Family run, authentic cuisine. The vindaloo dish is one of the best and spiciest dishes I can find. Bring a group of friends or family and have a buffet style to taste all the various flavours this place has to offer.
Been going here since I was a kid. Great spot for veggie lovers (and meat)! Definitely recommend, can t make this stuff at home!!
My girlfriend and I got some takeout to try, neither of us have much experience with Indian cuisine. Shes a lightweight with spice so we got the chicken korma. Everything was tasty, the portions were generous ( especially the korma), the chicken meat was all breast which we prefer. If I went again they could just give me the whole pot of korma and jasmine rice and I would be happy :)
Amazing food! My favorite place to dine
Portions were reasonable, but price was higher than the competitor establishments by a margin of 5-7$ a person. Food was satisfying but not entirely standout I may order again, but difficult to justify with the other local options.
Good food. We ordered mild food to suit our children. Chicken korma, saag paneer, aloo begun, naan, and onion pakoras. Ive had their vindaloo and basic curry previously. Everything was great and at a decent price. Will definitely go again.
Slipped a little in past few years
I have always enjoyed eating here. During the pandemic, though, I have only used take-out. The food is still great.
If you love Indian food you will love this food! A must try!
Probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been at. Extraordinary environment, nice music and delicious meals.
amazing , great fresh well prepared food , lots of food for the $ , a very enjoyable meal , was delivered right on time , will definately be coming back as a customer , good value
Worst Indian food weve had in some time. Butter chicken had coconut milk and no tomato, the sauce was lumpy, taste was very sweet. We couldnt eat it. Lamb rogan josh was insipid, couldnt taste the lamb at all. Saag paneer was also without flavour. Paratha should have been flakely and buttery, but was dry and flat. Even the bottled beer had sediment in the bottom.
Horrible experience!!! Onion bhaji were burnt Vegetable pakora has a freezer burn taste. Vegetable samosas were still frozen inside. We mentioned it to servers that it was frozen and the rest was burnt and he didnt seem to care and didnt even ask if we wanted a replacement. Disgusting food and pretty bad service. Its probably the worse Indian food Ive ever had .
The best vindaloo in Kingston.also dont forget the veg pakora and pilau rice
First time yesterday Great food Great service Definitely going back
Food and service was excellent
ordered takeout for lunch: the butter chicken had a nice coconut flavour and sweetness ... the darbar rice was dry
Very good!
The food is delicious and you have options about the level of spice. Even simple things like their Naan are extraordinarily nice.
Food, great customer service
Excellent food and value!
Best butter chicken in Kingston if you like sweet. Vindaloo is equally as good!
Family all love this place
Disappointed with the value. I felt like I paid a hefty price for very mediocre food
They took more than an hour 15 mins to bring the food. Then to pay they brought the machine and then said that it doesn t work so they took it and told us to wait we waited for too long then we found that it works and they didn t bring it, it was too late and we missed our bus.
Good place to visit
Very disappointed. Rude host, but servers were nice. Food was pricey and not up to par with other Indian restaurants in Kingston. Won t be going back.
Authentic food!
Darbar has a wide selection of well-prepared dishes. Dhansak, Korma, Kashmiri, Saag, Jalftrizi, Phatias and other specials are there along with the expected curry varieties.
Tried this restaurant on the advice of the hotel front desk staff, who said it was excellent. My first trip to Darbar in Kingston didn t disappoint. The service was prompt and the food was exemplary. The lamb korma was very close to the best I ve ever had. Who would ve know in Kingston would be a great authentic East Indian restaurant.
My favourite place for South Asian cuisine! Love the chicken Tikka masala and the vegetable sambar. Portions are generous. Brown food is generally not cheap in Kingston as compared to the GTA, and although this place is not as cheap, they make up for it in ingredients! I have tried several Indian food restaurants, and this place uses spices generously, whereas some other places cater to a milder palate.
Very disappointed with the meal. Branched out and tried on a recommendation and it will the last. The butter chicken was radioactive green colour and the meat tasted like it smoked 2 packs a day. Naan was dried out and tough. Will not be back
Really so good, the chicken very tender
they are not open or not open till 10 pm. false info on google. I went there yesterday 9 pm, it was closed. they should update their restaurant timing here.
The food is so flavorful, with the best cuts of meat. I highly recommend the korma and boona dishes! Staff is very nice and friendly. My favorite place to eat in Ontario.
I love Darbar! Everything is delicious although sometimes there is variation in the overall spiciness of dishes from an order to order basis. But absolutely with it!
Worst butter chicken in Kingston.
Food was good, service was a bit rude and put-upon
Darbar has a huge menu full of delicious and flavourful dishes. The naan is so perfect, and there is something for everyones taste - veg or non-veg, spicy or mild! If you like spice, the vindalooo is a great choice. The servers are so attentive and the owner is friendly. There is a student discount, and great lunch specials. My familys favourite for dining in Kingston!
Excellent food. Pleasant service. Cozy atmosphere.
Good food, well made with fresh ingredients.
Good food. Portions are a little smaller than other Indian restaurants in Kingston.
For my mothers birthday, I took my siblings out for a celebratory lunch. My sister recommended Dabars as the Indian restaurant that she most liked in Kingston. Im glad she did. We had a nice informal lunch there. My brother and his wife had never had Indian food before and it was nice to introduce him to it there. We had a section of lunch specials plus some a la carte dishes fro my wife. Everyone was pleased with the meal.
Good food good prices
Always awesome!
Delicious as usual!
The best!
Always a pleasure eating from here. Excellent food quality and wonderful service.
Great food, owners and staff are very nice...and really good prices. Ill be back soon! Thank you.
Between 1000 curry and Flavours of India , this has been the best experience so far by a mile. The flavour and consistency is similar to what you might find at flavours of India but the prices are MuCH much friendlier and close to what you might find at 1000 curry The sauces are much smoother if you prefer that (I do) than 1000 Curry and Sabres, there isnt much seperation of oils and everything is brought together nicely. Presentation is good, nothing to complain about, service is extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions. Very home-like experience ! My better half ordered the chicken tikka masala and I ordered the chicken vindaloo and I can confirm that the vindaloo is hotter than the vindaloo at 1000 curry, not even close. The tikka masala was as delicious as you might expect and we cant wait to go back Delivery is free over 50$, bathrooms are upstairs and overall restaurant size is on the smaller side but not too small . Pictured is the vindaloo with tikka masala in background This is 100% our go to Indian restaurant for Kingston, dont pass it by !
Amazing food, vegan options. Will make a proper spicy curry!!!
Food is amazing. Customer service is very good. Restaurant seems a little dated and could do with a refresh.
Sumptuous Indian food away from home...after a long long time
The restaurant is decent, though it folks you, when it says Indian cuisine, there are more extracts of Bangladeshi touch, decorum can be improved, food is decent, service is not at all good I must say!
Great food and service. Very personal service.
The lamb and salmon dishes are tasty.
Really nice experience. I took the chicken biryani plate with rice. The amount of food was enough and it was mild as I requested. Very friendly staff!
Good food, good taste, friendly people and more interesting because you listen to indian music the whole time.
I got the lunch special. Good price but kind of bland.
Everyone is always so friendly. Lunch special is great.
Fudu bnaunde a. Dal deke bolde a soup. Dont go there. Stale food
Wonderful food and great service as usual
For many years now I have been a customer, and the flavours and scents still enchant me. I eat well every time!
The gf she loves the spicy curry
Yummy food. Portioning was satisfactory. Preparation time was ok, but the restaurant can improve little bit on certain veg. preparations. We found some stuff was hot and extra spicy as compared to our familys taste. Overall, food was worth the price.
Food was good and taste was good too. Only problem we had with curry because gravy was too liquid
This is just the best Indian food. And not just in Kingston. Its very flavorful and of amazing quality. I came from Montreal for this restaurant! Will definitely come back in the future.
It s an Indian restaurant and it seems they don t want Indian customers. Felt a little awkward. Never ever going to recommend. Sorry!!
Fantastic flavours. Perfect portions. Friendly service. Wonderful experience.
Nice food, great portion sizes and reasonably priced ! Would be coming back for sure!
We really liked the place. Nice services, great food just like homemade food.
great food
Always consistently good, both food and service
One of the best I dian food I had ate in Canada. Just too good and not expensive. Must visit for Indian food lovers.
Always, always so wonderful.
Very good soup!
Excellent food and service. Interrupted by a very vocal and angry man in a large party who was upset that a particular dish he ordered would take 20 minutes to serve. The owner stepped in and did his best to calm the man down with little success. I was impressed with owners efforts.
Most disgusting Indian food ever. Omg even came a 1/2 hr early. What does that say for being a Saturday night. Everything burt and i mean everything!!! Salad that i didnt even ask for waz rotten! I ordered lamd with potatoes and yes should have potatoes. Came with one little potatoe with tough lamb. Chinken tandoori was lmfo was oven cooked wow not your traditional style. This owner answer to me was well were closing Dont ever go and loose your money. Had to argue for a return and told me to come back tomorrow... omg wow again!!!!
Darbar is absolutely wonderful Indian restaurant in Kingston. Food is great with amazing flavours and great service. Highly recommended.
Worst food
Most disigusting food ever in my life. Service seems to be too bad.
Awful. Simply awful. Chicken was way too sweet. Lamb was way too salty. Save your money and go somewhere else
Wonderful food. Excellent service.
Pakoras were really good. After that everything we ordered went downhill. Vegetarian dishes were really bad, chicken tikka masala was okay but the chicken pieces were hard and rubbery. The ambience is good.
I love this restaurant! I have been ordering from Darbar for about 20 years now. When my sons were very young, they would love it when we could order food, and they always wanted Darbar!
Great food and great service
Best Exotic Cuisine in Town
The worst Indian food Ive ever had. The mango lassi tasted like milk mixed with mango juice, and the Channa masala like it it had plum sauce in it (too sweet). The naan was also uninspiring, which is hard to achieve.
First time here and sadly not impressed at all. I ordered delivery for my family and all 4 containers of curries were less than half full (whyyyy!). One of the dishes was supposed to be butter chicken, but we received some cream coloured coconut dish. We also ordered garlic naan, but received regular naan. Taste wise, flavours were very weak and bland (compared to normal Indian restaurants). The combo of everything definitely didnt make it worth the money.
Great food and service. Very well priced
