Contemporary spins on Canadian fare using local, seasonal ingredients in a sophisticated space.
The greeter at the door should receive bonus money. He took each and every person's scarf, coat, umbrella. Tonight was rainy, he had to deal with wet scarves and clothing. He had to remember which coat belongs to whom. When I was done, he helped puting on my coat. It would not be fair if his salary is just minimum. I have done a lot of traveling aroung Canada, most restaurants just ask guests to check their coats at the rank, with nobody attending. You can't ask questions or you get kicked out. I have also encountered rude persons telling me my grocery cart or umbrella "is not allowed", etc. Food was satisfying. Photos are today's special (off menu) and chicken liver pate.
This was an unexpected delight. The meals were perfect. It was a nice ambiance, not loud. We will definitely be returning and spreading the news. Costco has gift cards for $100. Costs only $80. Yup, I'm getting a couple.
My first experience in this restaurant: The food was expertly prepared but the service was disappointing. We were a group of 8 celebrating a birthday gathered at the “before peak hours” reservation time. The whole process from ordering to paying took a loooong time. Return I would but not part of a larger group. I would return but
First time dining at Days on Front and it was a pleasant experience. Service is top notch and the place is tastefully appointed. I got the feature and it was good but it wasn’t great. I found the gnocchi stodgy and the short rib dry. My Wife got the salmon which was also good but wasn’t great. I’d go there again and order off the menu. Menu is quite limited which leads me to believe all dishes would be executed perfectly. Nice place with very good service. Prices are reasonable and it was a lovely experience.
Ordered the salmon with potato croquettes from the dinner menu for takeout. Beautiful atmosphere and staff are accommodating while I waited at the bar. My hopes were high. The dried out hockey-puck salmon piece sent me spiraling from a dizzying height of expectations. It was so dried out you could pick up the piece with your fingers and chew on it. They included commercial tasting tartar sauce for the salmon, which was really bizarre because tartar sauce does not suit grilled salmon at all. The dressing for the arugula was way too sweet. The potatoes were delicious and came with a very nice sauce but sadly they don’t know how to cook fish.
Had a great time here, portions were good for the type of food they are offering(fine dining, big plate small portion), place was nice, knowledgeable staff. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese, but the other plates that I tasted were delicious. I had the chicken supreme which was really good. I would like to come back to try some other dishes. If you have a special date, anniversary I would recommend you check this place out.
Drove up from NYC and spent a couple days in the 1000 Islands area and with no good food options on the US side my wife and I decided to try Kingston, ON. Don't let the strip mall location fool you Days on Front is fantastic. We had the duck bao special, chicken, cod and mac and cheese. Desserts were a bit big, but i'm only complaining because I had trouble forcing myself to stop eating it. Spencer our waiter was accommodating, I have a shrimp allergy and Canadian healthcare sounds cool, but i wasn't interested in testing it out-- no issues at all.
Our first time dinner at this place on a Valentine day and must say, the food is amazing. But I would prefer to have the service to speed up a bit as food was cool already by time it get to the table... Not sure if it is the style of this place. The scallops - somehow the scallops size is not consistent but, the sweet crispy bacon make the dish memorable, it pair so well with the scallops. Caesar salad - just like regular other places, nothing much special. The ribs - I must say it is chef kiss, the mashed potatoes is so smooth, its like melting in your mouth, the rib is so soft and flavourful. The feature steak - just as expected, tender and well seasoned. Except the salad seem not very pair well with it, it like having 2 dishes going on at once. The service, it was kinda weird feeling, Im not sure if it is just my table, but the same server, she was so kind to other table, but not my table. We received complimentary bread as others, but when serving appetizer, she didn't take away the tray, leave to an uncomfortable experience as the table already quite small, I have to remind after we finish course 1. At the end, the overall experiment was okay, beside the service, I will come back here for the food.
We just move to Kingston from Toronto and are happy to discover Days on Front in our new neighbourhood. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The service is attentive. The food is excellent.
We visited for the first time for a lecture and dinner hosted at this restaurant. The food was great, and the service was quick and prompt, the servers were kind.
What Im typing in here is no lies, finest establishment in Kingston and is staffed and owned all locally. Very classy and relaxing setting in such a nice part of town. Cant wait to go back for dinner sometime soon!! Parking: Very very plentiful in terms of parking.
Great food, staff and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back! Parking: Easy parking within the Plaza Food : 5/5 |
Now this was excellent! Not much to say other then... my steak was done to perfection and my wifes pasta was incredible!
Stopped in on the way to Montreal. I must say this exceeded expectations. Amazing food, great service and fabulous place. Highly recommend.
This hidden gem has something special for everyone! The duck Ragu is a must try for any duck lover. Great atmosphere and courteous staff. Fresh quality ingredients. They are always rotating and introducing new menu options to keep things interesting. Good selection of wines. Will definitely return.
After being here a few years ago and thinking it was fantastic, we were disappointed in the meal we had tonight. We had ordered the short ribs before, both dining in and takeout, but for $36 you get a very small portion of short rib. The cream sauce that came with the chicken was blah in taste. The best part of the meal was the butternut squash soup - it was amazing. We also had the scallops but you get only 3 small scallops for $21. I was tempted to ask the waiter where the other half of the dish was! As for dessert, I can make a better cheesecake. Service was good and attentive - Dennis was great. Sorry to say, we wont be returning. Ian
We were looking for a good restaurant in Kingston and my husband came across Days on Front. We thought we were going the wrong way, even when we arrived in the parking lot. It was almost deserted. You had to dare to push the door to be there and find a restaurant where all the tables were occupied. Warm welcome, impeccable service and the cuisine a real treat. I recommend it to you
Excellent place to enjoy a night out. The food was fantastic, and I would recommend getting the wine pairing for your meal! We felt welcomed when we arrived, and the staff was friendly and very well versed on the menu and wine list. We will be back again. 100% recommend!!!
Story time! I have been a regular at Days on Front since it opened! While the menu has changed over the years, the quality and flavours of each dish has always been top notch (even throughout the food truck phase)! I recently had oral surgery and was cleared to eat warm food like soup, problem is, I hate soup! I thought I would give the soup a try and ordered it for take out. It was a butternut squash soup and was, without a doubt, the absolute best soup I have ever had in my life. I am going to place a few orders so I can heat up at home over the next few days! I can t say enough about this soup! I will be dreaming of this soup! Thank you for making my soup dreams come true!
So glad theyre open for lunch, even if its only a couple of days a week. Always delicious.
Never fails to impress from food to wine to service. Matt and his team always deliver.
Never been disappointed by a meal. Everything is delicious. My favorite app is the scallops! Friendly staff.
I just had the fish and Chips special and it was amazing. It was absolutely delicious . It came with carrot cake and ceasar salad. I hope they will have it again.
Excellent food and service! Definitely recommend. Dietary restrictions: GF options available Food : 5/5 |
Excellent restaurant for fine dining. I have been here a handful of times and I am never disappointed.
We highly recommend Days on Front. Our server, Josh, was very friendly, attentive and made our dining experience so wonderful. Freshly baked bread, delicious lamb and ribs dinners with wine. Crème brûlée with coffee. I loved dining here because it wasn t loud as some other restaurants in downtown Kingston. Truly a great fine dining yet affordable place to enjoy a night out!
We loved it. We both know restaurants, and this first time visit was exactly what we expected and truly enjoyed it. A lot of effort has gone into the offering. Menus read well, trendy while covering the classics. Price was totally fair for the experience. Especially with the majority of everything on the menu made in house. We sat on the bar side and liked it. Attentive service, friendly welcome. Small team all working together so we felt well taken care of. We will be back.
Always a fabulous meal at Days on Front!! Ive not been for lunch before. It was delicious! Took my foodie bestie and have made her a fan, too!!
Enticing menu, very friendly staff and delicious food.
This is my wife and I s go-to spot for birthday or anniversary celebrations. It s pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Some of the best meals I ve ever had in my life were courtesy of Days on Front. Don t sleep on this west end gem!
Visited today for the first time in a while. Still great as always.
I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Its tucked away in a strip mall but you would never know it once you come through the door. Wonderful service, nice wine pairings and everything were ordered was exceptional. The meatballs app, sirloin and creme Brule were particularly excellent. We were traveling but if we lived locally we would become regulars! Kid-friendliness: Clearly not marketed for kids but they accommodated our 6 and 7 year old willingly and graciously. They loved the meatballs and Caesar salad
My husband and I came here for my birthday and Michaela made it a very fun experience. She was very sweet, funny and gave us great service. The food was delicious and they had good gluten free options for myself. Thank you!
Dinner was very good. The atmosphere is always nice. I miss the steak frites though.
Amazing food, service and staff. Our favourite restaurant. We can t wait for our next visit.
My wife took me to Days on Front for a belated birthday dinner. It was incredible. Everything about this dining experience is extraordinary. From the greeting, to taking your coat, to the 5 star service, to the exquisite food made this gem of a restaurant my new favourite. It was exceptional. My compliments to the owner, chef, and service staff. Days on Front reminded me that fine dining is about so much more than just the food. If you haven t yet, treat yourself to Days on Front. You won t regret it.
Always delicious food and superb service!
Last night was our first visit to DF and our meals were great and the service was outstanding. Between the four of us we ordered-Caesar salad, beet salad, warm salad, duck spring rolls, scallops, duck gnocchi, steak frites and triple chocolate cheesecake. All food arrived as requested and we left happy. Everything is made in house. Looking forward to our next visit.
Wednesday evening dinner. Very warm welcome followed by prompt drink and bread service, good wine recommendation. Shrimp tempura and truffle fries were excellent. Our mains varied. Duck gnocchi was fabulous but unfortunately the Short Rib was just ok. Lacked depth of flavor and seasoning. Dessert cheesecake was lovely. Will return!
Days on Front is our favourite restaurant in Kingston. My wife and I have been several times for date nights and have also taken family/friends. The menu is not overwhelming and has something for everyone. The food is always quality and we have never left hungry or disappointed. We like to dress up when going, but business casual is fine too. The restaurant is relatively quiet and intimate and has a phenomenal wine selection. The prices are extremely fair and you can tell that the staff and owner take great pride in making sure your experience is great. Dietary restrictions: Extremely accommodating for people with celiac and have gluten free/vegan options indicated in the menu. Parking: Never an issue with Parking.
This is the best fine dining restaurant in Kingston and it s not even close. Like literally, no contest. The prices are generally what you would come to expect for fine dining (at least for the mains - the apps and salads are very reasonably priced), but the portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and every dish packs a flavourful punch. The vibe is wine bar chic, and the staff and owner are incredibly friendly. A lot of people in Kingston tend to gravitate downtown for fine dining, and those people are missing out. I consider myself pretty picky/ judgmental when it comes to food, and the restaurant has never disappointed me.
We live in the area and came here for the first time on Valentines Day after hearing how wonderful it was from all the neighbours. It absolutely lived up to the reputation: exquisite food, excellent service, and tremendous value. We particularly enjoyed the tuna dish, the short rib with Bordelaise sauce, and the banana dessert. Five stars all around.
Thanks Days. Been a few years since weve seen you and was as good as ever. Cheers!
Excellent meal, well priced, with great service. Will 100p go back again.
This is one of the best fine dining restaurants that most people will never find unless its by Word of Mouth. The food here is Exceptional from the appetizers to the main courses we had beef tenderloin on Saturday night with fresh carrot cake for dessert. We always come to Kingston to do Christmas shopping on Black Friday weekend and this is our third time coming two days on front we will be back again to the chef and the staff thank you very much for making this one of the most memorable places that weve ever eaten.
AMAZING!!!! Visiting Kingston & the reviews sold me to give them a try. The exterior appearances aren t great, interior is warm, lovely decor, very comfortable. Our starter was the crab arancini, I had the short rib which is the best I ve ever had in my life! Hubby had the steak & fries which were also fantastic! Everything we saw served looked exactly like their photos. Service was impressive, extremely friendly & knowledgeable. I can t say enough good things about DF!! It s D-E-F a must try if you are in Kingston. We ll make it regular stop when we come back.
Great restaurant, minimal signage so look out for it!
The food was simply amazing!! This restaurant doesnt look like much from the outside, but you have to go in and eat there! It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life and visited Italy!! I had a pomegranate martini and my girlfriend and I shared the crab arancini. The sauce was as succulent as the arancini!! For main meals we had the duck gnocchi with cream and mushroom sauce and the fettuccini with lentil bolognese sauce. It was so good that we didnt want the meal to end. To finish, we shared the chocolate and cheese cake with berry coulis! It was as tasty as everything else. The service there was also great! Well done!
Another lovely meal and evening at Days on Front. The service was, as always, excellent. We felt welcome and well looked after. The portion size was perfect, the menu had choices for everyone and the food and wine were delicious. Thank you to Matt and all of the staff at Days on Front.
I loved this place. First time of many that will come. Amazing Tempura Shrimp, Wonderful Crab Arancini and the Best Chicken and Risotto ever.
Amazing service, fantastic food and great atmosphere. We celebrated our anniversary there and were very pleased.
Absolutely stunning food, impeccable service. 11/10
My wife and I had an amazing experience at Days on Front. The food was incredible and Erica our server was a pleasure to talk with. It was fine dining without the pretentiousness which we really appreciated and at reasonable prices. Truly a hidden gem and the best restaurant in Kingston in my humble opinion..
Love, love, love this restaurant. Food is amazing
Very good restaurant, we eat really well there, we come from France and it was nice to see a restaurant that didnt just serve fries as a side dish The proportions and tastes were great and we were able to taste a Niagara wine which was also good. And the little extra was that it wasn t expensive compared to other restaurants on our road trip. Go for it
Fantastic food! Reasonable pricing too considering the quality. 5/5
Delicious food and friendly and knowledgeable service. Ambiance was nice and not too loud, even on a busy Saturday night. I appreciate that they were able to seat me in the dining room even if I had booked a table in the lounge because it was all that was left. They truly seem to value their customers experience. The duck gnocchi was so good. I highly recommend DF for a nice night out.
Absolutely one of the best meals weve had out in ages. Great wine list, wonderful food, terrific service... couldnt ask for more. We took family for an important celebration, and we felt very lucky to be there. Cant wait to go back.
DOF has been a staple of the neighbourhood for years now . We have had too many special meals there to count Matt always makes sure you feel welcome .. like you are dropping by his kitchen to see what s cooking . DOF serves fresh , delicious and creative menu items served by staff who care. A meal here becomes a celebration every time . They are truly part of the Reddendale community we must never take for granted. Thank you to Matt and his team !
Wonderful food, and impeccable service. It s a destination unto itself in Kingston s West end.
We always have an amazing experience at Days on Front, and last night was no different. The food is incredible, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is classy but unpretentious. Meal of the year contender every time!
Absolutely delicious!!! My best friends took me here for my 40th Birthday and it exceeded all our expectations. Ordered the Duck Gnocchi and a Pear Martini. Highly recommend both. My friends both ordered the Baseball Sirloin and are still raving about it! If you want a great meal, and not junk, come here because in the end you are so satisfied and haven t spent much more for the quality, service, and atmosphere. Can t wait to visit Kingston again and enjoy another meal here!
DO WALK IN!! Matt, Erica and the rest of the team were immediately at our service with great hospitality and excellent food at very reasonable prices. A must try!!
The best in town.
An absolute hidden gem of a place. Food was exquisite - the best I ve had in a long while. Prices are quite reasonable given this. Service was fantastic - laid back, no attitude - and the vibe is nice - dim, private. It s tricky to find because it really doesn t look like much from the outside, which just makes it that much more of a treat to sit down to a phenomenal meal. I has the soup, arctic char and crème brûlée with the recommended wine pairing and it was all stellar, though the soup was next level.
Two words - duck gnocchi! So good! My fiancé and I went to Days on Front this weekend for our anniversary after it was recommended to us and it was AMAZING! We started with the pork belly, which was sweet and delicious. Then of course we both had the duck gnocchi for our mains. My fiancé and I both agreed that it was the best dish that we ve ever eaten at a restaurant. Our server, Erica was fantastic! She was attentive, friendly and you could tell that she genuinely enjoyed her job. We ve been to many of the higher end restaurants in downtown Kingston and have never received the level of service that we received from Erica. As someone who also works in the service industry, it was a nice change! We will definitely be back!
Absolutely wonderful. Unassuming location, but lovely ambiance inside. The menu was well thought-out with a great wine list to match. The flavours were excellent. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic food excellent service
Days on Front never disappoints. Amazing service and delicious dishes.
Wow this place is a hidden gem where I will definately be back . Everything was perfect from the hostess to the server to the atmosphere and food. Great job .
Had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend this place. We will return as we found the combination of flavours impressive and appropriately priced. Very enjoyable evening meal.
Excellent food in a wonderful atmosphere. Surprisingly well priced given the quality.
We had such a lovely time last night here celebrating my sis in laws birthday that I totally forgot to get a group photo of us at the table! Ah well, a treasured memory regardless. Amazing food, great atmosphere and excellent service made for a perfect evening for a very special occasion. Three of our party had the short ribs and I ended up doing the supreme chicken...everything was delicious and the creme brule was the best Ive ever had! Thanks to our server, Spencer, for his attentive service, answering our questions about the menu, and handling all of my moms recurring comments about the duck salad not being on the menu. You navigated our shenanigans like a champ! A great place for a truly wonderful experience!
Phenomenal food, calm and peaceful atmosphere. Definitely recommend
My first experience yesterday for take-out valentines dinner was fabulous. Im not usually a fan of fruity salad but this was the most flavourful Ive ever had. Looking forward to a dine in experience some day. Over the summer we ate in the parking lot patio which was a great experience. Now for New Years Eve we got take-out again. Once again my cat was the recipient of the prawns and he went wild for them! The rest of the dinner was good, especially the green beans - the vegetarian root vegetable lasagna was not to my taste. I find parsnips and turnip to be the worst tasting vegetables and wonder if anyone vegetarian or carnivore would chose them - sure they are cheap but far from good tasting, Im also not a fan of goat cheese (salad). Perhaps the vegetarian risotto is better tasting.
The food is top notch and couldnt be better, the cheesecake is the best Ive ever had, and I dont even like cheesecake! Eat here and you will be impressed
Fantastic meal!!! The first courses are very sophisticated and taste amazing! We loved our main dishes as well and the quadruple chocolate cheesecake was light and refined. Highly recommend!!!
Contemporary warm ambience and service .. a culinary delight
My only regret is not coming sooner. The food was unreal. Staff were friendly and attentive. Clean, quiet, great ambiance. Definitely a hidden gem in Kingston.
Ive been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now but have always been a little wary because the prices are pretty high and I am so tired of going to restaurants that call themselves fine dining and charge as if they are but, end up coming up short. (This city is loaded with those types of places). We finally bit the bullet last night and went. I have to say that after living in Kingston for 3 yrs now, we have finally found the restaurant that we have been looking for! This place checks all the boxes. Food quality is incredible, ambiance is nice, service is great, prices are still a touch on the high side but I dont mind paying for quality and that is exactly what we got here last night. Well done Days on Front. We will definitely be back.
I had the salad and the duck the two Corus Meal and a glass of wine ,my lovely wife had the short rib and the Atlantic char and cheesecake, and of course we shared. The duck was tasty but should ve been two legs one just wasn t enough the good thing was it came with a bean salad with that it filled you up, the Atlantic char wife enjoyed it especially the garnishes with it. The salad was just OK nothing to write home about, The short rib was tasty but again very little, wasn t too bad not sure if I would go back again but wasn t too disappointed. With a 20% tip total came to 170+. That was with three glasses of wine 5 oz. Wrote the rest of this after owner replied I didn t think this was a bad review everything tasted good, but in my opinion was not enough the duck leg was 3 bites of meat and the salad had little goat cheese sprinkled on top and most of it fell on the table when I tried to mix it up. From reading other reviews anything negative in there reviews you (the owner)get very defensive, take the little bit of criticism and improve from it!
Food was excellent and service was equally good. Price is great for the quality of food served. Will be back whenever we pass through Kingston
They turn 10 years old in May and this is the best restaurant in Kingston. Best food, best service, and remarkably affordable for the 5* meals they serve.
Utterly exceptional! Thank you Michaela and chef for such a memorable evening.
Fantastic! I had intended to take my fiancée here for an engagement dinner over a year ago but, well COVID. I decided on here based on recommendations from friends. I got the short rib and beef tenderloin. She got the chicken thigh and lamb. We tried a bit of each others meals and both thought it was all good. The quadruple chocolate cheesecake was so good! Service was great too! Absolutely would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I honestly do not understand the 1,2,3 * reviews those people must either be the most pretentious people ever or have broken taste buds lol.
We had driven past this restaurant many times (it is located in a small strip mall) and wondered if it was a great as the reviews - in a word - YES! Dont let the location throw you. Once inside the cozy dining room we were greeted by a very pleasant hostess, seated at the table we had reserved (reservations are a must for any day, Fridays and Saturdays are booked weeks in advance). Our server was friendly, knew the menu & ingredients, made an excellent wine suggest (love Spanish red) and was the perfect combination of attentive while leaving us time together. The short rib appetizer was Excellent!!! We both decided on the Artic Char ~ the fish was Amazing! The entire meal was both beautiful to look at and even better tastings. We will be back for our next special evening - cheers to the team at Days of Front for a wonderful experience
Quality food with excellent choices.
Had the tuna to start and the artic char - both were delicious and great sized portions! This was a week ago and still thinking about this meal! Excellent service as well!
This place is amazing with food and service. The steak is well seasoned and the flavor is stunning. The dessert is a killer! Overall really tasty, highly recommended.
Food was pathetically small and lack lustre
My wife and I love this restaurant. Probably our favorite in Kingston. Casual fine dining with a great menu. I have tried almost everything and what ever you order will be fantastic. Always good service and the desert menu is good too. Update: they now have a food truck during the summer season. A limited menu but still delicious!
First time at the food truck. Very disappointed. Pear and Brie sandwich turned out to be paper thin slices of pear with an overwhelming sauce. The small bun was burnt. Carmelized onion was all you could taste. Tiny can of Perrier and this totalled $17.00. Not worth the money. Threw the sandwich out.
Very good! Summer time its the chip wagon and outdoor patio but quality is excellent! Inside the restaurant, there is the beer/wine bottle shop. Overall, its excellent!
Amazing food and has GF options ! THE BEST
Fantastic food, great service. One of the best restaurants in town. They have an intimate, elegant dining room open in the fall through spring and a gourmet, upscale food truck in the summer.
The DoF food truck has got to be a hidden gem of Kingston. They have a little patio with the truck (dog-friendly!) Where they often host live music. Drinks are flowing (frosé!- I was disappointed to be honest, not blended enough). The food is prepared in the restaurant proper so be prepared to hang out on the patio for a few minutes. They have weekly specials as well. Pricey but probably worth it!
My wife and I checked out the DOF gut truck out front. It was just ok. My wife enjoyed the Mac-n-Cheese. I stupidly though that because the burger was $16 it came with fries. Lol I was wrong. The burger was unremarkable really. About 4oz patty nothing WOW about it. Not worth $16. Not worth a 2nd visit from me.
Staff is friendly, food is great. I recommend the pulled pork or pulled chicken. Dont bother with the Mac n cheese for the kids, they wont recognise it.. it doesnt have any of the same texture or flavour. It would have been a better experience if the wasps werent as hungry. For 2 adults and one child, total came to around 70$. Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Tables are in the parking lot
Always awesome!
Amazing food top notch service great people definitely going back
Excellent service and wine pairing. The butternut sqash soup is delicious and is a classic comfort food. The braised short rib just melted in my mouth.
To quote Tina Turner, its simply the best!
Excellent dinner of beat salad, sockeye salmon and chicken in a coconut curry sauce. Good gluten free options including delicious berry crème brûlée. Always a treat to dine here!
Days on Front never disappoints! If you havent been to try the new fall menu you should definitely check it out. The food is always top quality, creative and delicious. Always a great experience and check out the wines in the bottle shop too!
Outstanding food, great service.
Never disappointed when we visit! There was not a specific vegan item on the menu, but the chef and waitress were very accommodating. The chef made a delicious beet risotto with green beans and oyster mushrooms cooked to perfection. The last risotto that was this good was when we visited Hells Kitchen. Well done! My husband savoured every bite of the crab arancini balls and decided to try the banana bread pudding for dessert and was not disappointed. Our waitress was attentive and we never felt rushed. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of food and service.
The butternut squash soup was amazing. So was the crab arancini. Lovely atmosphere, and delicious food. Such a gem in the neighbourhood!
Hidden gem! The owner is so nice, he came by our table and offered to remake a dish when he saw that one guest had not eaten very much. The guest said everything was delicious, they just dont eat a lot. Very considerate of the owner. Happy to support local businesses now so they can make it to a new year.
Delicious valentines Day take out meal High quality ingredients and execution of menu.
Fantastic food and service!!
Amazing!!!!!!
Amazing service, food and wine pairing!!! Fabulous idea! Thank you for a great night out.
Excellent food and service. Never disappoints
Had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious dinner here last night. It was the first meal that I had had in a restaurant in a year due to COVID and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt so comfortable that every precaution had been taken for our safety and comfort. Each table was well spaced with lovely wooden dividers that actually served a duo purpose giving us privacy as well. We both began with the scallop appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. I followed with the shrimp and lobster pasta and my friend chose the tenderloin. Both were done to perfection. I finished my meal with the decadent Créme Brulée. The ambiance, service and food quality was second to none. If you havent had the opportunity to dine at Days on Front make sure it is your next evening out.
A great selection of food, amazing taste, and perfectly paired wines.
Great spot
Good fine dining food, but the current takeaway of fine food just doesnt have the same appeal of eating in a restaurant. Plus we live a bit away, and despite best efforts, the food suffers as it cools down. Their Celiac friendly gluten free options can be counted on.
Fantastic spot! Great food, great service!
Awesome food truck at Days on Front
Incredible food. Excellent service. A real hidden gem in Kingston
The beef short-ribs is absolutely incredible.
Great drum fishing
A good meal but terribly expensive for what you get. $70 for a one course and a two course meal is overcharging. Wont go back.
Always a fabulous meal!
Was our 15th Anniversary and their opening night. We couldn t have made a better choice
Amazing food and service. It s a must try in Kingston :)
Excellent food as usual. Wonderful Service!
Destination dining in Our Silver Lining. Days on Front, Kingston, Ontario A long-delayed visit, Days on Front has been on our radar for 2 years. Life interfered & a dine in visit has been on hold since Covid-19 s arrival. That will continue for the foreseeable future but fortunately Matt Day & crew have pivoted expanding takeout. Inside dining currently available. We were interested in Date Night Takeout Thursdays. We enjoyed our date night dinner, blinds drawn, furnace keeping us cozy in the parking lot. Sweetie says next visit, she wants her own dessert. Meal was packed in containers that were handy to eat from (dessert shared, innovated with paper plates.) Went the extra mile, rather than the plastic flatware, we used the fancy have to wash stuff. Will look forward to future visits, inside post vaccine immunization but mobile dining is a very suitable alternative.
One of my favorite restaurants in Kingston. Fine dining and friendly staff. If you havent ate here, you definitely need to!!!
Best meal we have had in Kingston since we moved here. The butter tart dessert was one of the best desserts I have ever had anywhere.
Amazing dinner as always ! fantastic service venue is outstanding cosy romantic Peter Lakeside Pools Kingston
Delicious 3 course meal. Great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.
Great food, great prices love fresh made cooked to order
Amazing food, atmosphere an service
This review is based on Sunday Funday experience at Red Line Brewhouse! Half priced appetizers and $5 core beers! Just like Happy Hour for the whole Sunday! If you are into fitness and drinking beer, there are pilates classes and other fitness classes held. Sounds like so much fun.I would be back for another Sunday Funday!
Great food at good prices.
Food is amazing. Only complaint is little slow depends on how busy. I will recommend make the reservation first and go before noon.
Excellent service and the meals were delicious! Would definitely recommend!
Delicious food and wine, excellent service, and wonderful ambiance.
Yummy food . Excellent service ..
The food and service was amazing. I order beef short ribs and the state was perfect. It was slow due to being busy but I definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone who want to eat good food in a small but nice restaurant.
- Huge learning experience! - Great way to get connected within the community. - Reliable establishment, provides a vast variety of helpful resources & opportunity - Good environment, with awesome staff!
Great place in the west end! The food never disappoints. Be sure to make a reservation.
Very nice atmosphere
Great food
Food was delicious, good service
Food is spectacular
Always great food. Great presentation and flavours, friendly staff.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere. The food was amazing! Overall great experience!
The best service Ive had in a while at a restaurant. The atmosphere is also very nice inside and relaxing. The food was amazing, probably the best chicken Ive ever had as well. Will definitely be back soon.
Great Food and Exceptional Service
Excellent food, great service and good value for the quality. Serving size is nice for a gourmet type restaurant. Nice decor and service was really quick. Not in the trendiest location but a great eat worth the drive there. Tons of parking on site.
Excellent service, interesting wine list, wonderful food. Highly recommend.
Very nice dinner!
Always great and the bbq package is such a great deal for so much delicious food.
My husband and I went to Days on Front for dinner this weekend and we were extremely impressed. It was very expensive, but definitely worth it both for the quality and the quantity of the food. It was the best food weve tried in Kinston by far, and the service was excellent. A great special occasion spot.
FOOD 5 SERVICE 3 AMBIANCE 4 Food great I would say amazing , atmosphere Chinese buffet in strip mall. Staff I had feeling waiting until we leave and didn t offer coffee or dessert, Kelseys level I would say 3- stars.
Weve eaten at Days on Front at least a few times a year since it opened and have always had incredible meals and service. We ate here last night for our first dinner in a restaurant since March and were blown away. They have done an amazing job making you feel secure eating there during covid without sacrificing ambiance. The new prix fixe menu is wonderful and I think very well priced. We had the scallops (that corn veloute - wow), the sweetbreads, the artic char, and the lamb (the artichoke made the dish). Everything was cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and delicious. Our server, Erica B was delightful and its amazing that the owner, Matt, gives personal service to every customer. Thank you for yet another amazing meal!
My wife and I celebrated our 45th Anniversary with a visit to Days on Front. Wow! There was not a week spot of any kind in our dining experience. From appetizer right through to specialty coffee, it was absolutely top notch, as was the service. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but if you have a special occasion coming up, or just want a truly wonderful experience, this is definitely the place to go.
My birthday dinner was absolutely delicious. The server and the socially distanced tables made us feel very safe and respected. This restaurant is awesome in every way, great ownership too.
Fantastic food, service and decor. Wonderful experience.
Food was superb. Service excellent. 5-star all the way.
One of the best meals Ive had outside in a long time :)
Celebrated an Anniversary here and both the food and service were excellent. Thank you!
Amazing food, service and environment.
Quite tasty food and very friendly staff! Good idea on the new prix fixe options!
Good local food, fills me up after 2 course but a little bit expensive. Still worth it
Usually not into fancy restaurants but we just had to try this gem. Been hearing about it for awhile. Had the duck breast, so good! She had the Beef tenderloin also worth while. I will warn you menu options are limited and make sure you bring a full wallet.
I can not say enough good things about this place. My hubby and I were looking for a local place to try on our Kingston staycation. From the outside, its not eye catching at all. Located in a plaza between a medical office and a quickie mart. Dont let that sway you Go inside to experience the most amazing food and service. The restaurant was CLEAN, the tables were staged and separated creating a lovely ambient environment for every guest. Our server was outstanding, personable and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The food was some of the best weve ever had. And we are always in search of good local places to support. The owner ensured everything was top notch and checked in with every guest. My only complaint is that its so far away from home... we will be making the 4 hour drive again just to eat here.
Great food, wine and staff!
As always, delicious
Excellent service and excellent quality food!
Excellent! Great food and service and super covid friendly!
Amazing food!! Service is unbelievable!! Great atmosphere.
Service was very courteous and accommodating. Menu is simple yet filled with amazing options. The food was cooked perfectly and the wine pairing was on point! Will visit again!
Fantastic food... fantastic service....it never disappoints....love the price fixe
One of the top five resturants i have ever been to! Food and service was amazing!
Best restaurant in Kingston. Doesnt look like much from the outside but the indoor dining space is cozy and comfortable. The food, often locally sourced, is excellent. Great wine list which pairs very well with their dishes. A higher-end establishment without being pretentious. A gem in Kingstons west end.
Consistently made, high quality, well thought out dishes. Customer service is also great, all staff and servers and amazing at what they do.
Amazing food and customer service. Very clean and up to date with all COVID protocol. Owners are fantastic and take great pride in this place! Well worth a visit... again... and again! Well done guys!
Amazing food, warm atmosphere. Never had a bad meal there!
Great local fine dining option. Exceptional food and well prepared. Their lamb was one of the best I have had. Most of their foods are sourced locally which is a nice added touch. Service is top notch and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Crab cakes are a great appetizer to share!
Great food, great service, and warm, comfortable atmosphere. This is our favourite restaurant in Kingston!!
Was expecting more from this place. Left disappointed. Felt like the chef had one sauce (brown butter) and tried to make it work on every dish. It didnt.
Great restaurant. Tucked away in a nondescript mall but well with it. I would highly recommend!
One of the better restaurants in Kingston, at a surprising location. The scallops were flavourful.
Awesome food
