Food is crap, service even worse. Wait times are atrocious!! I recommend going elsewhere, definitely! Dont waste your time or money!!

UPDATE: More often than not we are continuing to wait up to 10 mins for the host to appear. Waitresses make a comment that we shouldnt seat ourselves when we give up and just go and sit down. Had two waitresses taking care of us and was very confused at what was going on. Waited a long time for our food and the couple that came in after us had a waitress come to them before us. Really has gone downhill.

Great service, our veggies for the fajitas were over cooked and the cheese was old.

Went for a quick bite as we were running late. Server was very amenable and was able to get everything our extra fast. Luckily it wasnt busy so it all worked out. Had great fajitas and would reccomended.

We were passing through Kingston on our way to Montreal and decided to stop for dinner at the Lone Star. We had the pleasure of having Nevada as a our waitress ans she is a complete sweatheart. She knew the menu very well and checked in on us continuously throughout the evening even though she seemed to be alone in her section. Great spirit, attitude and always smiling.

Four of us visited the Lone Star on Sept 16. Our greeting at the door and getting seated was done quite quickly and efficient. Our server Rodeo 789, was slow to arrive and when she did, she wasnt certain what drinks were on tap. She said she would bring chips and salsa after she took our drink order and she did. The chips and salsa seemed very small for a group of 4. When she arrived with our drinks, I asked if we could have more chips and salsa, and she said yes, but they never did come. We ordered our mains, three of us had Ribs and one ordered the New York strip. She has asked each of us if we wanted the refried beans with our ribs. However when the food arrived, we had baked beans which was OK by us. The Ribs where tough and did not come close to falling off the bone. The server never di come to ask us how our meal was until we were finished eating. When, I told here I was disappointed in the quality of our food, she did not want hear about. I was surprised she didnt want to tell someone, loke a manager about it. It wasnt just isolated to mine, since one other in our group was worst than mine. I have found that the Lone Star has been going down hill over the years. I also found the prices high, $11.79 for an 18 oz beer is a little too much. The food prices were also high for the quality being served. I would not return to this establishment in the future, Kingston has many good restaurants that I can choose from

Love Lonestar Kingston. Always come here when we visit Kingston as the food and service is always good. My favourite chicken wings. Margaritas are the best Ask for Nevada, she is the one with the huge smile and is great on silent refills of your drinks :) We love her! Great location near the waterfront, hotels and city hall.

waited long to get food on a Thursday night. when I got it my chicken was cold. had to wait 20 minutes for another.

Great place in downtown Kingston. The food is very good, both the steaks and the Mexican. Prices are average (25 - 40 CAD).

Honestly, I dont find the quality of the food is there anymore, steak fajitas very undercooked and quaso dip was separating, I dont find the quality is worth the high prices

I was at Lonestar yesterday with a friend. The hostess greeted us with a friendly pleasant demeanor, atmosphere was great and our food was too. Later that evening I received a phone call from the manager letting me know I had left my wallet in the booth we sat at! I am beyond greatful for the honesty of the staff/manager for getting it back to me! Most situations like this would have been a nightmare. Canceling credit/debit cards, getting a new license, health card, sin card, and the list goes on. To further that I have no idea how they wouldve even got my phone number as I did not call to make reservations. There had to be immense effort & investigation into getting my contact info. Thank you beyond words Lonestar staff for those who were involved. I will forever be greatful and a patron for life with more memories to be made!

Looked like a nice atmosphere, but they dont allow dogs - not even on their patio. Very different experience from Boston where youve got patios filled with adorable pups.

The waitress was friendly but the food took longer than expected.

Go to spot in downtown Kingston. This team has always accommodated birthday requests (daughters favorite restaurant). They allow you to bring in cakes and will bring it out from the kitchen. Cheers to the team on August 22nd, hosting multiple birthdays !! Chips and queso are a favorite as well :)

Steak was juicy and tender. The fajitas were good. Service was fast and staff was pleasant.

Very disappointed, been to other locations in Toronto and Service, food and atmosphere has been much better. No greeting at entrance, had to ask waiter for cutlery, food was just plain no flavour, margaritas had an aftertaste not fresh. The atmosphere was loud.

Bad service. Waitress couldnt care less and brought the drink I requested after the food was finished. Then says shes only a bartender and thus the poor service. What an excuse .. never again to this location..

Brought international guests for a special dinner in Kingston after a cross-Canada tour. Made us wait for a table on the patio and it was embarrassing to walk out to a mostly empty patio with tonnes of available tables!!! Why make us wait?! We later learned it was likely because the server wasn t ready. She couldn t get our drinks - someone else got us started, and then after taking our order, she never returned. Had to go inside to ask for the bill after waiting 30 mins. We were alone on the patio at the end of the night - not a soul in sight. Didn t split the bill and then argued that she didn t know she was supposed to (never asked us, wasn t there the whole meal!) Guests ended up paying the whole bill, which was very awkward. It was an embarrassment and I was sorry to have taken them there - poor demonstration of Canadian service industries. Hopefully they get some better servers because the food was good.

I love coming here, staff is always friendly and food is great. But sometimes when I come during slow hours (usually lunch hours) I find it hard to get someones attention at the front to get seated. So maybe a bell would be a good investment

The chicken tacos with beans and rice were good and the Corona went great with it. The service was nice and quick and sitting outside in the courtyard in warm weather is perfect!

Ordered a large pickup order and it said it was ready in the app and it was well past the original ETA. It was almost another 30min wait after I arrived and close to 40mins after it said it was ready! Why I dont pre tip on pickup orders anymore! Set it up so I can tip after please!

Wifes chicken tacos was cold, rice wasnt cooked. Not normal for a Lonestar as we eat at other locations with better service and food. Pretty disappointed with this Kingston location.

This was my first time at the Lonestar in years since Ive been back to Ontario. Its not the same as it use to be. The food was okay, portions smaller, prices higher. The atmosphere was meh. The original quality wasnt there like it was in the early 2000s. Drinks are good but overpriced. $15 for a glass of white wine? Supposed to be an 8 ounce, was definitely not. They dont even have REAL hot sauces anymore. Just their in house brand mild hot sauce which is basically a Franks knock off. So, if you like spicy BRING YOUR OWN! I doubt Ill be back anytime in the next few years.

My family and I went to lonestar to celebrate my wife s birthday. The food was cold, the temperature was hot in the restaurant. We always go to lonestar as it s always the best. But now after this, the expensive food, lack of options on the menu. I won t recommend them to anyone. So long..

Tried to stop by got happy hour specials on Friday night & two different staff members saw us waiting at the podium & turned & walked away to busy themselves cleaning. The restaurant advertises being open until midnight but the staff was clearly not eager to be working this evening. Very disappointing experience

Rebel was prompt, professional, honest, personable and patient.

Not great value for money. I had a small salad with steak and soda water and my daughter had a kids meal and it came to more than $50 before tip. I know everything is more expensive nowadays, but this shocked me for what we got. Service was middling. Our server had a big table nearby and so we spent more than 15 minutes waiting for someone to come so we could ask them for my daughters one scoop of ice cream. I understand people being busy, but there were plenty of other staff that could have checked in on us that didnt. They also pushed their upsells (tiny $16 guacamole, $18 margs that come with a hat) pretty hard. I used to go here a lot with my wife back in the day. It will be a long time before I try here again. Parking: No parking that belongs to the restaurant, you have to use nearby municipal stock.

Started out with a messed up drink order, same with the meal, the main was good both beef and chicken enchiladas were tasty, the sides were not good, rice was el danta almost crunchy, beans were good, these sides were ordered because the mashed potatoes and the broccoli dishes werent available. Disappointed

I had 1/2 rack of ribs. The ribs were so greasy that it grossed me out. I ate less than 1/2 of them. Took the rest home then threw them out.

I brought my sisters family from Scotland along with my granddaughter for lunch. Buckshot was our server and I must saw his service was above and beyond what is normally expected. Just thought that he get the recognition he deserves. Stew Greer Trenton Ontario

We went to the patio where there was ample seating, more empty tables than occupied. We were told to go through the main doors to be seated. We did so and waited, and waited, and waited; not a single person came to greet us, we left.

The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. I thoroughly enjoyed my drinks; they were crafted exactly as asked! However, I must admit that the nachos were not quite to my taste. I have different preferences when it comes to nachos and am not a fan of liquid cheese. Despite this, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend Cerveza as your server!!

The staff was pleasant but the food was mediocre. I ordered nachos to share and they just fell short of my expectations. They weren t super hot either. My dad enjoyed the ribs and potatoes. My review is as low as it is because the manager was not accommodating of our request to turn down the volume of the music. We had guests who were hard of hearing, and while I understand the music may be a part of the atmosphere that management does not want to change, I regret that we were not dealt with in a more personal manner.

The servers were very kind and helpful, however, the food we received for the price was absolutely horrible. The portions were extremely disappointing, the ribs and wings were burnt and dry, the birria tacos had no flavour and the meat was very dry. Such a disappointing experience, would not recommend.

Went out for a margarita night with the girlies and had the BEST time ever. We showed up later than anticipated and were expected to be rushed out before close, but the staff was very sweet and accommodating. The happy hour had some great deals and we received more food than expected for the price. We were also pleasantly surprised with the size of the margaritas and the sombreros we received with our drinks. Our server was also exceptionally sweet, always checking in on us, and made us feel extremely welcomed. Will be back again <3

Food wasnt bad, what you expect for a chain restaurant, I got the fajita bowl with grilled chicken and the meat was a bit rubbery but not bad. Just tasted like frozen chicken. The guac made table side wasnt bad but too mild. Sever was good, but got double charged and they werent able to do a refund in person so they did it in their online portal and said it would be 3-5 business days, I just called my bank and did a dispute since it was paid on credit and my bank got that done. Overall decent experience ignoring that.

Came in with a large group a little while ago and had a decent time, food was underwhelming to say the least, but our server Spurs completely saved the experience, helping us with a lot of tricky and easily confused orders, really one of the better large group experiences I ve had, as few as those are.

Fast and friendly and always good food

Have been coming to Lone Star for over 20 years and this visit was, by far, the worst experience ever. Ordered the steak fajitas and took a bite into RAW meat. Not rare, not under cooked, but RAW! Manager never came by to apologize, they just took our food and threw it back on the grill, so by the time we had properly cooked food, our kids were already done eating. To top it off the kids got churros for dessert and they were stale and hard as a rock. No apologies, discounts, or otherwise. Paid full pop for one of the worst meals we have ever attempted to eat. No longer coming back, quality is severly lacking and management just wanders around. EDIT: management reached out and brought us back in for what was a great meal. Will try another time or two before my hopes get too high.

The restaurant was busy for a down town location on a Friday night. The restaurant is housed in the old city Firehall which allows for some very interesting architectural features. When you walked into the restaurant we were met by a large group coming down from upstairs meeting you right as you walk in causing congestion. Wait time was only 30 minutes. With 3 hosts there was a lot of confusion going on, the area was busy with Uber eats pick ups, people waiting for take out orders and people waiting for tables. One groups table was available for seating, and was called up to the counter, with all the traffic the hosts forgot to seat them. Another group was not checked in to be put on the wait list as well. Food menu was paired back from last time I was there. Prices have increased. For a meal for 2 people, and 1 drink + 15% tip, we paid $96.00 for the meal. Server was friendly and food arrived quickly.

After not having great service or good food after the remodel, I swore that I would not return to the Kingston Lone Star. I went back last night for the first time in a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised! Service from Wyatt was on point and the restaurant was busy and electric. The fajitas and queso were delicious! Im glad I gave the staff at Lone Star a second chance!

Went out with ny family tonight for dinner and had an amazing time. As usual the food was amazing, but our server went above and beyond. He was engaging with our children, in a great mood, quick with all requests and simply made the evening that much better. He went by the name cougar and i cannot recommend him enough as your server!

Odessa was an absolutely amazing server. She constantly checked up on us to make sure our drinks were good, alone with our food. Honestly made our night! Thank you Odessa!!!

Even though our steaks were not eatable, they were cooked to our liking, but the steak was so chewy and had a bad taste to it...it wasnt the spices Im betting they got a bad piece of meat and we were unlucky to get it. We didnt even tell the waitress when she asked, as she was so nice and we ate everything else on the plate which tasted wonderful. But when she took plates she noticed we left the steak and told her why. The manager came over and apologized and offered us two free desserts which was very thoughtful. But when I got the bill, to my surprise, we only paid for one drink and a coke. I went and said I think theres a mistake, the manager said no its correct and Im sorry again for your meal. I was shocked and thanked her so much and said we would be back....as if course we werent, but for her to go above and beyond for us, we definitely will as the rest of the meal was wonderful. Thanks to our server bandit and the manager sangria for being so caring. You sure dont see customer service like this anymore...so happy its still around sometimes. #awesomesangriaandbandit. Even though price shows over 100 dollars we only paid for our two drinks. Had steak, onion rings, loaded mashed potatoes, broccoli and side order of shrimp x two...we had the same meal. Free dessert was cheesecake x two. Now thats a fabulous gesture.

We arrived here an hour before closing and were greeted by an unfriendly host who seemed very annoyed that we were coming in. We immediately felt unwelcome, and asked what time the restaurant s last call for meals is. The hostess responded very bluntly and frustrated with 10 . As we walked to our table we saw what we presume was the manager along with a bartender and some other staff standing in the corner all closely staring at us with very unfriendly looks, presumably annoyed that we were coming in close to closing despite the restaurant closing in over an hour. Not one of them shed a smile nor even a hello, they just glared. The server who eventually greeted us at our table was friendly, but we felt so out of place and unwelcome that we decided to leave before even ordering. This is one of our favourite restaurants to eat, but have NEVER encountered such an unwelcoming ambience. We will not be returning.

Don t order for delivery! Ordered the rib/wing combo with Caesar salad. Four wings and 4 ribs with approximately a cup with of salad for $40 before tax and delivery. Not worth the price.

Its a Lonestar. You know what you are getting. Menu is getting more and more limited but fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, and quesidillas are what matter.

Excellent location downtown. The nachos were good and the beer was cold!

Went here prior to a Frontenacs game with our family. Service was great. The great aspect was the fried chicken strips and sandwiches. The sad side was the prices . 30$ for a sub par fajita is insane. Kid meals were OK, but the churros were burnt in the deep fryer. Overall not worth the cost coming here. This location is way more expensive than you average lone star as such will not come back anytime soon. Will seek out One Eyed Jacks next time as their quality, prices and service leaves Lone Star in the dust.

I learned a lesson about Lonestar today. Never take a group. They were completely inefficient. The management didn t care. The staff seemed distracted. We arranged dinner for a group of 100 people over the past few months. They made us pre-ordered the food. Well once we got there, it was like they never heard of us. Eventually food came out. The fajitas were hot. Almost every other food dish served was cold but because they made us wait so long people ate it anyhow. First time I ve ever ever had a bad experience at Lonestar. When I tried to talk to the manager about it, he explained how it was my fault for bringing so many people. Live and learn

Good service, mediocre but relatively inexpensive food. Drinks are expensive, expect to spend $12 on a pint of beer or $15+ on cocktails. Margaritas use premix, which makes the prices rather exorbitant. Atmosphere is reasonable.

The Lone Star Restaurant was able to accommodate our sports team of 40 persons. They provided us the upper level of the restaurant just for our group. The friendly waitstaff had a system in place to ensure quick service and accurate billing. Very good food as well.

Patio was busy on a Friday night. Hostess got us in quickly though. Our server was nice and informative. Beer was cold and margaritas were tasty. Chimichanga w rice and beans was huge and super tasty for me. Briskit sandwich was delicious for her. We both were stuffed. Oh free chips and salsa was a nice touch too. Mmmm

We dont frequent downtown Kingston often, but when we do, Lone Star is one of our favourite places to go. Plenty of dining room, bar area and patio seating, the wait time is usually pretty short during the week. During the weekends can be much longer due to the restaurantss location and popularity. A small freshly made dough ball is given to. Kids (upon request) which helps entertain themselves while waiting for food to arrive which is nice. As for the food, fresh chips and salsa are brought to your table while you wait for your meals. The menu has a good variety and everything Ive ever ordered was delicious. There are several large tvs to watch the game and the atmosphere is fun and Texas proud. Parking: Ok, so the biggest reason we dont frequent downtown is parking. Although there are several paid lots and pay & display street parking, its ususally a challenge because the waterfront downtown area draws so many visitors and locals. If youre lucky, youll find a spot qickly, however be prepared to drive around a bit to find parking especially on busy weekends. Kid-friendliness: Kidss menu to draw and colour, freshly made dough balls to play with, lots of decor to look at, and the kids meals are always a hit with my two. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair accessible ramp leading to the front entrance.

Patio had great atmosphere. I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries and was quite surprised by the portion of chicken on the sandwich. The server Rebel was very attentive to myself and my dates needs. Overall I would say it met expectations in terms of food and atmosphere and exceed such in terms of service with the amount of staff they had on hand.

Had a lovely dinner with my family here.

Food was really good BUT waited 20 minutes at the front desk to be served with no server checking the front desk. I had to CALL the restaurant to let them know we were waiting in the front and once I told them Ive been waiting for 20 minutes INSIDE the restaurant they told me they were coming.

$90 and still left hungry. Portions are skimpy to say the least a to Tatar of 6 fajitas made with the food we received. That s $10 fo each fajita I had to make myself. Something about the Kingston location which is ripping off customers. Any other lone star there has never been an issue. The manager approached our table to discuss my concerns, I explained we hadn t received any cutlery to eat with and the portions were small. He mentioned that we could order more food and I told him I shouldn t have to order $150 of food to leave satisfied. He said he would mention it to head office. What on earth would head office have to do with this? This Moron doesn t know how important it is to keep your customers happy and how he became the manager is beyond me. This guy couldn t organize a strip search at a nudist colony. Never again.

Eating indoors or out on the patio, enjoy a spicy bite while dining. Not much view of the water from the patio, lighting and heaters maintain the ambiance.

First time in Kingston. Always love lone star but this location has to be the best atmosphere and very polite service.

My only complaint, was that a staff member from a nearby restaurant sat on the steps outside the back patio for one half hour, and literally chain smoked the whole time. Smoke was wafting back onto the patio.

Patio is beautiful and spacious. Crispy shrimp tacos delicious but a bit of a kick if you like bland. Our standout was our amdcing server, Dixie! She s kind, fun, courteous and made great reccos for the rest of our day! Thanks for the song Dixie!

Spurs was the most epic server I ve had in years, quality service and served me in an outstanding timeframe. Would recommend this service to everybody and can only hope to have another waitress like Spurs one day.

Spent an evening lounging on the beautiful patio. Tried Margarita flight trio and some sweet potato fries with Alioli. Great tasting cocktails and delicious fries. Service was attentive and Jersey was really friendly and her service was excellent. Definitely be back next year.

Ate outside for lunch. Service was slow and no free chips/ salsa. Food is becoming expensive for the quantity. Seems to be a minimum spend in the menu. Quantity is good.

Love this restaurant though they could use a bell at the door during lunch hours. Since weve had to wait to be seated numerous times during this period. Until someone glances that way or we walk into the actual restaurant. Food is always great aside from that

We had a great time here! Food and Drinks were delicious and cold respectively and although there was a few minute wait to be seated on the patio outside it was worth the wait. Service was prompt and courteous and the atmosphere is terrific. We will definitely be visiting again.

Been going here for years and lately the food and service has been down. Not just on one occasion but several. Horrible wait time for orders to be taken and even longer for food to be brought to table. The food quality isn t what it used to be. The restaurant itself remain unchanged in a number of years

My honey garlic chicken wings were well overcooked, no taste. We sat outside on the deck and waited almost an hour before I had to go back up to the hostess to tell her we still had not been attended to by a waiter. My chair had red residue all over it and I felt I had to consistently check my clothing every time I stood up. On the flip side the waiter that did attend to us was great. He really thrived at doing his job to the best of his ability.

Decided to go here as kingstons largest waterfront patio was labeled outside. We waited 20 minutes for a patio spot which isnt a big deal, but you cant see any water?? So how is it a waterfront patio? I wish I went somewhere else because we wanted view of the water. The food was pretty decent, though the gravy came out as hot as my ranch dipping and had skimmed parts in it. Peaches the waitress was absolutely amazing though!! Shes the only reason I didnt put 1 star.

Service was excellent, waiter went above and beyond to welcome us. Food was OK in comparison to the competition. Had issues with my credit card after using it on premises. Bank told me they detected that the card was cloned. Food : 3/5

Went for a work lunch with a large crowd. Our reservation went a little sideways, but the staff were amazing and made it happen. All the food came in great time and was enjoyed by all. Thank you!

What can I say? Its Lone Star! Come for the margs, stay for the fajitas! If I want fajitas, I only go to Lone Star. Bring a friend cuz the Fiesta for Two has everything, including their delicious ribs. My only little complaint is that we wanted all steak, but we got the dish as its described, with both steak and chicken. No biggie, we ate it anyway. My recommendation is stick with the steak...

Food and service were both very good. It s a little on the expensive side for what it is.

As always the food was good but the service not so much. Our food came with no plates to put our fajitas on and usually, they deliver those before they bring the food and it took a while to catch the eye of the waitress to get them, then, she brought 2 plates for 3 of us needing one, in the meantime, our food was getting cold. I had also ordered quacamole which I didn t receive, reminded her once and it never came. When she finally came back to our table I said make sure the quacamole isn t on my bill because I didn t get it. I like the way they use to come back 5 minutes after your meal to see how everything was, so you could have the chance of asking for the things you needed but this never happened. For the increase in prices, I expect better service. My family thought the service was terrible also. This is my favourite place to go, I ve celebrated many events including my Birthdays, my Retirement dinner, etc., but I find it s changed over the past few years and not for the better.

All of our orders were correct. They seated us where we could see the sports game. The food was good. The service was very good. The only negative comment would be that although I dont feel the service intended anything offensive we would have been more comfortable if he wasnt so touchy. He was polite and attentive though.

I recently visited Lone Star with a group of six, expecting a pleasant dining experience. Initially, we were informed by the manager, Hombre, that we could order food online and dine in. However, to our surprise and disappointment, he abruptly changed his mind after our order was placed. Throughout this interaction, Hombre s demeanor was unprofessional and discourteous, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for my group. This inconsistency and the rude treatment we received were highly disappointing, overshadowing the quality of the food and the restaurant s ambiance. Such an experience makes me hesitant to recommend Lone Star, as the customer service significantly detracted from our overall experience.

I recently visited Lone Star Texas Grill with a large group, expecting a pleasant dining experience. However, our evening was ruined by the incredibly poor management. Initially, the staff assured us that we could order online from Frank s Nashville Hot Chicken and eat at the restaurant. Based on this, we placed a substantial order, looking forward to a comfortable meal inside. To our shock, the manager (Hombre) approached us with a completely different story, stating that we were not allowed to eat our online orders in the restaurant. This sudden change in policy was not only inconvenient but also perplexing, as we had been explicitly told otherwise by the staff. The manager showed no willingness to accommodate our group or acknowledge the miscommunication from his team. His inflexibility and lack of customer service were appalling. Its unacceptable for customers to receive contradictory information and then be left stranded with no viable solutions. The managers unyielding attitude and refusal to accommodate a large group was a clear indicator of poor customer service and disregard for customer satisfaction. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated by this experience. Its a shame that Lone Star Texas Grills management fails to understand the basic tenets of hospitality and customer care. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place if youre looking for a reliable and enjoyable dining experience.

Horror story of a manager. We came here for the Frankies Chicken sandwiches. We were told by staff to order online and then shorty after the insufferable manager ordered us to leave the building immediately. Not worth it when this guy is around. Save your money go somewhere else. Hombre and his wannabe gangster attitude should be ashamed of himself.

Came in from out of town, and got into town a little late, showed up here with 6 people and could tell they were busy. Told us it would be a 20 minute wait, got us in sooner, and our waitress was amazing! Make guacamole right at our table! It was a great experience
