I recently visited a restaurant where I was quite disappointed with the overall experience. The ramen I ordered was bland, tasteless, and served cold. Additionally, the mojito prices were misleading; they were listed at 7 CAD on the menu but we were charged 11.50 CAD each. The food also took a long time to arrive and was cold when it did. On a positive note, the restaurant is pet-friendly, which is a nice touch. However, given the issues we encountered, I cant recommend this place based on my visit.

I appreciate that they open until late hours, but the fries were almost burned and bitter.

My wife and I were child-free for the first time in 6 years and decided to go on at dinner date to somewhere neither one of us had been before. Im so very glad we chose Red House downtown! The rib eye steak was so amazing I actually had a dream about it several hours later. Service was equally awesome, and for the above-average environment it was reasonably priced. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

We ate very well. The dishes were home cooked, the fries were super good and my steak and spinach sandwich was a real treat...

Red House is a fantastic restaurant with service minded staff and great food at a good price point. I love their rustic decor with lots of beautiful wood features and unique light fixtures . Were visiting Kingston and will definitely come back here next time were in town!

The food is good and the atmosphere is great but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The male waiter was a bit rude and since I didnt feel comfortable with the service I decided not to leave a tip, something that made the waiter upset. I would like them to hire more professional people who want to work.

Stopped in for lunch today, had the special of warm potato salad with chicken, bacon,crispy onions and arugula and a pint of the Daft Mango Sour. It was great! Very nice patio area! Will definitely be back!!

This place used to be good, so I took my Dinner Club there. The food was horrible! I sent 2 different dishes back and gave up. I doubt any of us will go back! I strongly recommend you give this place a pass.

The food was really good for a reasonable price. The place was fully booked so it took more than 30 mins to bring our food. It was also difficult to catch the attention of the servers as they were busy with all the tables. However, to compensate for the long wait time they gave 4 of us complementary desserts. Appreciate it and would definitely recommend for the food!

The food was excellent. Service is also excellent. Sadly, soccer moms and kids thought it acceptable to come in and take over restaurant. Kind of blew wife and my night out have to listen about kids soccer. I understand the need to feed, but to ruin others night out kind of sucks for others.

We were in town with a group of 20 people of 40-45 year old men. We were all talking and the manager had asked us to be quiet in a condescending way. Then she comes back and looks at us and asks if this going to be a problem At that point we had already ordered 3 bottles of wine and a few drinks for the table. We had asked the server who she was and he said she was a manager (a women with blonde hair) at that point we just said that she was insulting and we just wanted the bill because she didnt understand the hospitality business. Most of us had worked in the restaurant business and how she was talking to us was uncalled for. Our table would have spent a min of a 2000 dollars and that she should be thankful considering how competitive it is in the city of Kingston. The server leaves and then returns and asked if we would stay if she was gone for the evening and if we saw her in the restaurant he would comp our drinks. We talked it over and decided to stay. I dont think we would go there again not because of the service or food but for how the manager treats patrons. Found a picture of her on their instagram just so theres a clear understanding of which manager we are referring too. She should think of a career change because it clearly shows that she doesnt understand the service industry.

I have been here 3 times over the past 9 years and have always, always had good service and great food. I recommend the kitchen fries with pork belly. Anything with pork belly will be great here. Get a beer or a cocktail made to perfection. Thank you Redhouse.

The food was pretty good overall. The server was having a hard time with remembering to come back to take our order, then messed up my meal twice and I had to take it to go since we were there so long. It was really dark where we were seated. Dietary restrictions: Seemed to offer a great selection of gluten friendly options but then served the item I ordered first with pita chips and then when corrected, with panko crumbs on top.

Food was amazing and everyone was so friendly I have always liked going there definitely recommend

Didnt have plans for NYE with the hubby and let me just say, everything came together tonight! On my first call, their reservations were already full, but the server still went ahead and made accommodations to fit us into their bookings, and since the NYE event was sold out, we were expecting to leave after dinner. On arriving, the person greeting us at the door welcome us and sold us two tickets, which allowed us to stay for the full night. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, and met our accessibility requests. I ordered the 10oz steak and veggies, hubby ordered the goulash, the meat was tender and was full of flavour. We have never been to an establishment where we felt so welcomed and was met with this quality of food, and weve travelled to several dozen countries between the two of us. Thank you staff at The Red House! Happy New Years!!!

If you are in Kingston for a visit or if you live here, this is a place to try. The Kimchi Fries were amazing. We also had deep fried pickles, arancini and chicken bites (as for buffalo sauce). We paired it with a nice Cobblestone Stout and Aperol Spritz respectively. To top it off, the place has a great ambiance and the staff are friendly. It was a perfect time.

Travelling from out of town for work. Stopped in here to try it out. Cool vibe. Fantastic food. (We had the steak which was excellent) Our waiter was phenomenal! Would definitely eat here again.

This place has a natural charm. The owners are not bean-counters: they care about their staff, and it shows in the service. Maybe the best looking bar in the city. Food: solid, beer options: excellent. Dont forget that the tall boy/canned beer selection is first rate, should you want to not opt for draft. Music is also well thought out; maybe best mustard ever that goes w chicken bites; also, the big tables in the middle of the room, as well as the lower area, make it textbook ideal for an event should you ever want to rent it. Solid joint.

My partner and I are in town with our toddler and we ordered a charcuterie board for take out last night. Strangest combination of food, we ve ever seen! Toasted bread that was hard and barely edible. Apple and orange slices full of seeds? The meat seemed a little off, so we didn t eat much of it and left it in the empty hotel fridge for the night when I opened the fridge this morning, I actually gagged and both me and my daughter had stomach issues today. Not happy at all!!! We went off the ratings and given our meal, I m pretty sure all the 5 stars are fake!! Staff was great upon pick up though.

Very good pub atmosphere. Dont look like the exterior, Music that accompanies the meal. Sober but warm decor. Good choice of beers. Dishes offered original and full of flavors. We validate the squash salad, the goulash, the burger and the chicken rigatoni. Very good time with the family.

Popped in for a beer after a long day. Great staff and atmosphere so decided to stay for another. Barman Branden was very friendly and helpful. Didnt eat but the food we saw looked good so we have booked a table for tomorrow evening.

We ordered two Mojitos and were given the cider ones instead of an original. I recognize the red house is known for their ciders/beer but I m just not a fan of cider. Our mains came and while my partners burger/fries were great my halloumi sandwich was cold and overly salty. When our food was dropped off my partner asked for another drink (French summer). It never came. So when our server came back after we had finished our meal we asked for the bill and told her we had cash, she immediately turned around and walked away and left us for another minute without saying a word. The communication and service wasn t great.

Ordered a chicken club came as a s.all chicken sandwich with dark meat

Food was terrible, I had the chicken club with cheddar and lager soup. First off after enjoying a club sandwich all over the world I have never experienced a club with two slices of bread. Where was the third slice that makes it a club? Neither have I been served shredded chicken thigh(s)? (maybe 1) in a $18 sandwich. The soup with a after taste of rubbing alcohol is highly NOT recommended. The cook needs to learn to cook the alcohol off the lager before adding it to a rich cheddar base. After letting our waitress know I did not enjoy the soup with such a strong alcohol taste, she explained well it is called cheddar and lager for a reason thanks, but I have had this soup a million times and never was it like a shot of tequila made with rubbing alcohol after every spoonful. And thanks for asking if you could remove it from my bill. Oh thats right you did not ask. Overall 2 star resturant at best, but Im sure for drinks its fine, I strongly recommend the cheddar and lager shots you will be loaded after two.

Friday, July 21 2023. Ate on the patio. 9:30pm, probably spent 2 hours there. Michael was our server, awesome service, and we 4 older ladies had a wonderful time. The place is super busy. Will be going back. Really Enjoyed our food at this establishment.

All good. Probably best to order something other than the ahi poke salad. Strange flavour combinations.

Great restaurant downtown. Everything was prefect. Nice outdoor patio, server was best Ive had in a year or more, friendly and sociable. Good selection of drinks, great selection of scotch. Prices were appropriate, dinner, drink, tax, and tip for around $40.

We stopped for lunch on the patio August 17 and had an awesome experience. Our waitress was great and the food and beer was amazing. We had the Cauliflower Quinoa Salad and the Chicken Club sandwich - both were absolutely perfect. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Kingston.

Just moved to Kingston. Found your restaurant on a rainy Thursday night. Food was FANTASTIC. Service even better. Quiet night due to the weather. Will be my go--to option for pub food.

While the food was ok, the service was not. Things we ordered did not appear until we chased down a different server. Not once did anyone ask if our meals were ik, nor was there an offer to replenish drinks.

Went to Red House downtown a couple of times and it is so inconsistent. The first time it was great - everything was cooked perfectly and fresh. Next time the pork belly is overcooked into oblivion, the ratatouille was basically a bowl of chunky steamed vegetables, pork bahn mi had plain tofu cut up into chunks with no seasoning on it and the fried chicken was dark brown in colour. On top of that, it took about 30mins to get the drinks and about an hour to get the food.

Very traditional tavern style restaurant with a modern twist on the menu. Atmosphere was a bit dull but perhaps it was the time of day? Server was a wee disinterested but gave a good recommendation for a great beer. The food was surprisingly excellent. Two of us had flatbreads - vegetarian and Shwarma. Excellent! Fresh and tasty ingredients and a decent serving. One of us had the poke poke which was creative and very fresh. Great place for a quieter, casual bite and pint. Vegetarian options: Great options for a tavern.

Tried to go here Friday 27th. Was waiting for the bouncer to finish talking to the people in front of us. As soon as he did these female university kids jump in front of us and started hugging the bouncer and he completely ignored us... We just left.

We sat out on the patio, enjoyed some good food( I recommend the buttermilk chicken nuggets. They were yummy) I even liked the part, where it got chilly, and they have little shawls you can borrow, to keep cozy warm.

Came on a Wednesday evening around 6:30. Super noisy, slow service with 10 minutes to get a drink, and app came out with the main 25 mins later. The Greek salad had probably 2 cucumbers in it and was basically all lettuce with feta sprinkled on top (no substance). Portions aren t worth the price.

We had a pretty awful experience here. I suggested this restaurant to the group of friends I was going out to dinner with as it had been recommended to me. We were a group of five. We were sat right at our reservation time 7pm. It took about 10 minutes for a server to come to the table, and about another ten to get our first round of drinks but they were decently busy at this point so it was understandable. However, all the food took extremely long to come to our table. Our apps took about 45 minutes. And we received our mains at a few minutes before 8:30. Our server apologized about an hour into the wait for the long times. To be honest for it being that brutal we were expecting a manager to touch the table but no one ever did. Our apps were good. But the mains were pretty awful. The halloumi in my sandwich was almost entirely burnt black on one side and completely cold. The sandwich was supposed to have other toppings, but instead it only came with one slice of tomato that covered about half the bun. No one asked if it was okay to completely forgo the other toppings or if I wanted to sub them out if they were unavailable. Overall it was fairly gnarly. I feel pretty confident that they must have just been having an off night, as I ve heard good things about the restaurant. They took our app and one of our two rounds of drinks off of the bill, which was very kind. But leaving having still paid over 60 bucks (for myself and my husband) was brutal for the service and food we got.

Great staff! From Cooks to waitresses to everyones fave. Michael. I have been coming here for years and although, a little pricey. Damn good. Could use some Labatt Blue on the menu. But thats just me.

While visiting Kingston for a 40th reunion at RMC we found the Red House bar our first night in town. The staff and patrons were super friendly and fun. We ended our nights there for last call. The vibe is exuberant!

Had dinner at Red House last night and it was delicious! We had a reservation and got seated on time, at a table in the back portion of the restaurant. It took a little bit (10/15 minutes) for our waitress to come for our drink order but it was definitely a busy night. We ordered the deep fried pickles as a starter and they came fast and HOT. Our mains were jambalaya, pan-seared trout and southwest steak rice bowl. Everything was delicious and hot. Steak was cooked perfectly. Needless to say there were 3 empty (and clean) plates on our table once we were finished. My only complaints would be that getting drinks took a bit longer than expected, and the music was a little loud to have conversation. Pia greeted us and sat as at our table; very friendly! Olivia was our server; very personable and attentive. We asked about the history of the building and was able to give a back story. And had a good knowledge of the beers they offer to help us choose our drinks. All in all, would definitely recommend and will be going back!

Waited 30 minutes for my takeout even though I called hours ahead of time. When I arrived they said it would be 5 minutes. They clearly forgot. Will never get takeout here again. On a previous experience I watched the manager argue with a person with mobility challenges who had fallen on their ramp about the safety of the ramp.
