Decided to try Rhodes for the first time recently. I had been there when it was previously The Cavalier Room, and was shocked to see the old, dated wallpaper, etc. was still in place. This place has been in dire need of a face-lift for at least 30 years (perhaps more) and it really shows. It reminds me of a 80s daytime TV set. The seating situation is still the same too, wide open with zero privacy, so everyone can see you, and it was so unbearably loud in there that I had to almost yell at the person beside me and strain to hear them. Our table placement was odd too, right behind their bussing station, so staff kept walking behind us, brushing us, which is very distracting and not relaxing @ all. Overall, the food was good, but given the insanely loud and chaotic atmosphere of this place, I dont think I will be returning. Hats off to the busy staff who have to endure that craziness.

Great lunch menu for meeting a friend or for a date.

My boyfriend and I ordered the exact same steak 8oz sirloin medium and he got a very small over cooked piece that he couldn t eat mine was almost triple the size and was good. He also got a burger that was very dry and non edible. We told the server about the steak and wasn t offered a new one but we got a free dessert at the end.

Very nice place, had my birthday supper there with 26 family and friends and everyone enjoyed it , thanks to the staff great job

The hockey guys come here for breakfast every Sat morning. Our server Jill always makes sure that our table is ready and keeps the coffee cups filled. Excellent service and food.

That was my first time in probably over 30 years . We went for breakfast and the food was really good, prices were fair, one side of the restaurant was louder so we sat on the quieter side. Service was a little slow at first, but food came out fast, its a nice change from the chain breakfast restaurants that are more expensive.

Without a reservation, we had a nice table in the dining section. There were plenty of gluten-free meal options and the meal portions left no room for desserts...maybe next time . We ordered four different entreés and we were all more than pleased with the flavours. Well be back!

I ordered the club sandwich and house salad. I asked for no Tomato on both items. I received a freezing cold, soggy mess of a sandwich with Tomatoes!!! And the funniest part was the tomato wasnt even ripe. And Tomatoes in my salad. I was excited to try this place but unfortunately wont be ordering again.

Our first time at Rhodes was fantastic. Our waitress Jill was so attentive, even my 11 year old son commented! We had an omelet, Chicken tenders, and the blackened tilapia tacos. Delicious! The chairs were very comfortable. The only downside is the noise in the restaurant But it s so busy because it s so good so you can t really hold the restaurant at fault.

On Sunday, my husband and I enjoyed a delightful dining experience at Rhodes. The Chicken Souvlaki was exceptional, but what truly made our visit memorable was the outstanding service provided by our waitress, Jill. Her friendly and personable demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere, and her attentiveness ensured a seamless dining experience. We have previously encountered Jill and are always impressed by her professionalism and dedication. We will certainly request her service in the future. Had such an amazing experience thanks to Jade! Service was amazing, she was extremely friendly and helpful. She gave us great recommendations and was able to answer all of our questions! Very knowledgeable on the menu. Overall, Jade was extremely detail oriented and ensured our dining service was nothing but the best.

The ribs were incredible, wings were great too, with a fantastic bbq sauce. My server Jade was awesome and very fast, getting me everything I asked for as soon as I asked for it.

We just ate for the first time at this restaurant tonight and had an amazing time. I felt taken care of the whole night and left satisfied (with both my appetite and experience). I asked my server Jade for recommendations on what to eat and ended up going with the Prime Rib. It was delicious and I had it with the ceaser salad (which i m picky about) but it was also VERY good. My partner had the seafood linguine and loved it as well. Overall great experience, i m not sure if I enjoyed the food or customer service I received from my server more. Great vibes to the place as well. I never post these reviews, but felt the need to share this. Would definitely recommend and will be returning!

Great food and amazing service from Jade. Will be visiting again!!

One word.. Amazing! One of my first times trying out this place ever since I ve moved here for school, and I highly recommend to anyone who was speculating on whether or not they should try this out!! My seafood linguine was amazing, I loved the atmosphere and Jade went above and beyond to provide me with excellent service to top it all off! This will definitely become one of my new spots, keep it up Rhodes!

Went in for Sunday dinner and it was amazing! Had the prime rib special and my husband had the yorkshire, both were delicious. Our server Jade was also very great and knowledgeable about the menu, we will definitely be back soon!!!

This guy s the second time I ve been to Rhodes and both time the food and service were excellent. Our server Jacqueline is so much fun and very very good at her job.

Food is excellent so glad to see Jill is still working there she is the best,thats one thing you did right,my only complaint was I had 100 dollars in gift cards and you people would not honor them after the Las Salle was sold thats bad business.

Last night we celebrated my 45th birthday at Rhodes. The experience was overwhelmingly positive, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff even let us bring in a birthday cake and then set it up on a platter, lit the candles and brought it out with Happy Birthday playing over the sound system. I had the steak and lobster special, which is an amazing value, and both were perfectly cooked. My wife had the eggplant Parmesan and couldn t say enough good things about it. There was only one small negative, our son s burger was overdone, but the staff responded brilliantly and made sure everything worked out well. The overall experience was wonderful, we will definitely be back!! Vegetarian options: Best eggplant Parmesan my wife and I have ever tasted. Wheelchair accessibility: My father is not in a wheelchair, but has a large and very wide walker that is wider than most wheelchairs. He had no problem getting through the door or getting to the table. We let the restaurant know in advance that he had mobility issues and they saved us a table close to the entrance.

We will be returning and telling family & friends.

I had the steak fajitas ! The steak was full of grizzle not very good at all . The waiter was brand new first night working by himself supposed to be trained. And told us he was new But he did a great job. My wife had the chicken Alfredo It was not bad the pasta was over cooked but she eat most of it. Not sure if I would go back or not.

I first started coming here when they first opened a couple of months ago. They have definitely worked out their start up kinks, and now have a bustling breakfast and lunch crowd. Overall, the service has been fabulous, but like all restaurants busy breakfasts and lunches mean that you will need to chill and notice that no one is standing idle. Ive enjoyed their seafood fettuccine, burger, wings, and fajitas. My favorite is actually their classic burger and fries. I tried their calamari, but I believe it needs some tweeking. I am looking forward to trying breakfast, as there are many different menu options. Their menu offers homestyle classics, but again with some upscale options. Even fussy eaters will find something to wet their appetites. Look for their daily 25% discounted items, and their 15 dollar lunches. The manager and the staff are personable, professional, and committed to their customers enjoyment of their dining experience. The old dining room has been given a bit of a badly needed face-lift, but not to the extent that it is unfamiliar to the loyal customers of the former Cavalier Room. The antiquated bar has been modernized, yet it retains a classic feel to it. Its brighter, and lighter without being over the top Thus far I have been happy with my experiences and interactions at this new establishment. Give this makeover of the old Cavalier Room a try. It s too bad, this new restaurant changed what was great at La Salle. The hollandaise sauce is horrible - essentially mayonnaise. The home fries are soft and bland. The toast - not toasted.

Excellent dining experience! When I heard that this location was renamed and under new ownership I was worried the quality would go down. Well, I was delightfully surprised. The new menu is great with lots of selection. Every dish we ordered was fresh and well prepared. Very tasty and generous proportions. I was quite impressed. And the prices, especially when considering how expensive restaurants have become, the prices are more than fair. Will definitely recommend and return. Keep up the great work!

We were a table of 6 around lunchtime. The food was good, served hot, and we did not have to wait too long. Donna, our server was such a pleasure. She was welcoming, efficient, and knowledgeable.

As someone who works in the industry I can t remember the last time I ate out and didn t critique the whole experience. This place didn t allow me time for that. From the service to our breakfast coming out everything was top notch. Rhodes will be my go to breakfast place. Looking forward to trying the dinner options.

The other 2 times we ate here it was very good. Today it was terrible. I ordered the liver with bacon, onions, mashed potatoes and vegetables. I did not like any of it. The onions had a weird flavour, the veggies as well. The liver was tough and stringy, and the mashed were instant. I think customers should be informed of instant potatoes, I would have ordered fries. My husband neglected to inform the waitress when he paid the bill so I am stuck leaving a bad review. 50.00 is a lot to pay for a meal which only one of us ate. We have since tried here again and liked the chicken carbonara, and bang bang beef noodles (very spicy hot).

They may have changed the name but the decor screams the eighties. Food was mediocre. Would not recommend this restaurant

Food was good honestly it was amazing. Servers were great and accommodating. However, I noticed that the MANAGER was abit OFF. He was MICROMANAGING everyone in the room. He was very RUDE to his servers. I have noticed this on different occasions. Food : 5/5

I recently visited Rhodes, formerly known as the Cavalier Room, and I have to say, the transformation under the new management is incredible! The entire experience was top-notch. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager personally guha, and its clear that they are committed to making this place the best it can be. The staff, Julia and Montana truly go above and beyond when it comes to customer service theyre attentive, friendly, and make you feel right at home. If you re looking for great food and exceptional service, Rhodes is the place to be. 5/5 without a doubt! Especially when you can spend your money anyways and even more specially after all the inflation. This place is bang for your buck, foods the same everywhere but the people here.

I would like to start by saying the staff was friendly & the food was great. The big difference was our server Julia. Seat made our experience well dining at Rhodes absolutely amazing. She was on the ball with a great service, beautiful smile an amazing energy. Well be back 100% and well be asking for Julia as our server. Thank you for a wonderful experience in great food.

Unfortunately, not the same quality as The Cavalier Room. You can get a bacon sandwich on their breakfast menu, everything is a la cart. The home fries are awful. It use to have the best bacon in Kingston but, not anymore. That will be my last visit.

Like, WOW!!! I have been a customer at the Cavelier for 40 years or so. When the takeover happened, I was seriously worried that I would be disappointed. NOT SO!!! The menu is such that you will ABSOLUTELY find something you love. My first visit, I had steak fajitas that were fabulous!!! But the creme de la creme was the Pecan Crusted Salmon!!! LIKE, WOW!!! IT WAS FABULOUS and I may not try anything else!!! But I must!!!

So glad we stopped here for dinner on our way back to Toronto. Everyone was happy as menu had great selection- adults, teens and kids. Service was fast and food was fresh and tasty. Portions were generous so great value too.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years (actually decades). It has recently undergone some changes and we are very pleased to be able continue to highly recommend this new restaurant along with it s new menu. The avocado toast is a fantastic addition to the menu (which I have had 3 times now), the new sauce for the eggs Benedict is top notch and my family are big fans of the new home fried potatoes. Their team of experienced wait staff have continued to stay on to be part of this new endeavour. The wait staff have become the reason we loved this place so much in the past and we are so happy that Jill has remained part of this staff. It is a huge testimony to the great changes.

love this new Kingston restaurant --- the menu is quite extensive and we really enjoyed the Friday special last night of steak and lobster served with whipped potatoes and another veggie side -------- our waitress Julia was very pleasant & cheerful and made our whole experience very nice. Oh yes cant forget the dessert --- I had the spice cake topped with a delicious caramel sauce and whipped cream ---- (made in house by the chef) soooooo good --- well certainly be back for more ----- prices are very reasonable --- try this place youll love it

Was pleasantly surprised at the new Rhodes Restro that has taken over where the Cavalier Rm was. Menu quite extensive and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. I had the garlic trio (French onion soup, bruschetta and Caesar salad) and it was very tasty. My husband had the seafood linguine and was very happy with the large amount of shrimp and calamari that was in it. Only downfall is they don t have their liquor license yet but hope to within the week. Parking: Lots of parking.

Enjoyed breakfast today at the place! The menu is fresh with alot of choices. The lunch menu looks great. My only comment, and understand the growing pains was the hollandaise sauce. It didnt look or taste like hollandaise. I will definitely be back but will avoid the eggs Benedict. Food

I give just one star rating. I have to wait for 30 minutes for my order and the staff is very rude. They guys are not even listening me and just keep telling me 2 minutes more for your order. Worst restaurant ever i visited.

Our third time at Rhodes Resto...first two for breakfast, this time for lunch. The menu offers lots of choice. Food was tasty (we had Korean Cheesesteak and Turkey Club) . Portions were healthy. Service was great. Prices are very competitive. My only complaint is that standard tipping options include tipping on the sales tax, which seems inappropriate. A manual override is available. Definitely will be back.

Rhodes menu has lots of choices, very reasonable pricing and generous serving size. We were a group of 7 and everyone was very happy with their meal. The waitress was attentive, extremely pleasant and went above and beyond. We will return again and highly recommend to others.
