This is the best place ever. I have lived in Kingston for the past 3 years and I’ve had so many good life long memories here. Raj and nam are seriously the sweetest and kindest people and they have made my queens experience the best. LOVE IT HERE!!!
This place is amazing and has been serving my family for over 30 years. My father found this gem years ago and when I made the venture to university I found that it would become the same go to spot for me. They always remember you and get to know you. It quickly became my go to bar and I am a constant regular. The drinks are great but to be honest I come for the equally amazing food and conversation that you get every visit. Raj, Namen and Adonis always welcome at the door and make sure to get u seated even when packed for student events and holidays. The prices fit well within the uni students budget and the only reason I haven't gone bankrupt from my drinking habits is because of this place. I wish them the best in the future and a continuation of their staple establishment.
This is the best place in Kingston, the barkeeps are so nice, if you get chatting with them you are sure to have a good time. Not to mention the food is amazing, never had a bad meal here, and everything is cheap in comparison to the rest of Kingston. I cannot recommend this place enough
I absolutely love this place and these people :))!!! I consider the people here some of my favourite people Kingston and I never hesitate to stop in for a drink, just so that I can chat with them about their days. Not only is the food addicting, their drinks are made the same every time and their service is outstanding! Stooley's has become a second home and I can't wait to visit again tonight! Cheers!
Stooleys, "not just a restaurant, a way of life". If your way of life is rude service/outrageous prices/portions, than this place is for you. I have been to stooleys about 10 times in the past 2 years, and about 8/10 of those times have been a negative experience, with the only thing bringing me back is location/demands from a friend. For some reason I thought today would be different, it was a long day and I was overdue for a quick bite to eat nearby with some good friends. I stupidly ordered a 9$ poutine just for it to be cold/a portion that wouldn't satisfy a starving child. Maybe I would have told the waiter/owner that it was cold if he came to my table at least one time after dropping off my order. I work in the service industry, I know that it can be hard to tend to tables, but there are 13 tables MAX and this is just unacceptable- if it is too much to handle maybe have another server. Atleast I had a cold fairly priced pitcher of beer to wash it down right? wrong. The pitcher was priced fine, but the portion was not even close to a regular pitcher- it barely filled 3 pint glasses. One may call me foolish, others might call me brave, but despite all of this i was still desperately hungry and so were my peers. We finally wave the owner down (after 20+ minutes of not hearing from him) to place in another order of food. He rudely told us that he couldnt take more food orders as we have been sitting there for too long and needed to make room for the people waiting for a table! If this was the first time I have felt hostility from him, maybe I would keep coming back, but several occasions is truly unacceptable. The irony is that they would've made more money from me and my friends ordering 6 total items than the 2 people who were sitting at our table because we got kicked out. Not sure how this place has over a 2 star rating honestly, maybe it was from back in the day when the prices werent through the roof and the service wasn't this horrible. Screw this place and STEER CLEAR!!!!
While the $1 increase in the $9.99 burger-fries-beer special will always hurt, it is understandable. Still hard to find a better deal on an evening when you just want to get out for a bite. The burger is fantastic, regardless of price. The two TVs always blaring the news channel are very distracting though. Sports channels would be better suited to the atmosphere. Service has always been good
Owner is an absolute gem, and the prices are unbeatable. Was able to accommodate a huge group with no notice and was so kind and hospitable about everything. Service was super fast. If you're in town and want a good cheap drink in a cozy venue, look no further.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE, do not eat or drink here! THE OWNER is really rude, I went with my family and waited an hour and half to get seated. Once seated, we told the owner we wanted to get 40 wings for wing night, 10 per person with two pitchers. And he said NO everyone has to get alcohol to get the wing deal. And I told him well my parents dont drink alcohol. He didnt care and wouldnt gave us the wings. He shouldnt force people to drink when they dont drink inn order to eat. EVER HEARD OF DESIGNATED DRIVERS, HE SHOULD LOOSE HIS LIQUOR LICENCE, you cant force people to drink and have a special. He even told us thats how it works here, therefore hes promoting alcoholism. I will be contacting the Ontario Liquor Act of Ontario. Where they should send an investigator. This OWNER is rude, and not friendly like the previous owners, I am giving this place a 0 STAR, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE, do not eat or drink here!

No more stooleys fries. The main thing that made stooleys so great over the years is gone. The fries are now just regular fries you get any where. Sad to see the history gone.

Small pub with a somewhat rustic atmosphere. Great food, great prices, and the owner was very kind and welcoming. I read a review saying there was an hour and a half wait and the staff/owner was rude, THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE due to the fact that there is nowhere to wait to be seated and you will never meet a more gracious host. Been going here for 3 years, finally had to call it a quit due to the disrespect I received last time I was there. The owner is incompetent and will over charge you. Raj scammed my friend by charging her an $80 tab she didn t order, and argued when we asked him about it. Gist: Food is bad, service is bad. Owners are extremely rude, especially Raj. Avoid this place at all costs and go to any of the other great food places there are in Kingston. Stooleys is a dump.
Great local spot, not pretentious. Really good service, and the food is good. Docking one-star for their wacky wifi system. Hope to visit again next time I am in Kingston.
Avoid this restaurant: nothing seemed to be prepared in house. From the taste and look of what we ordered on an evening at the end of August, everything incl. vegetarian and meat burgers, fries etc. was bought at a large grocery store frozen and in bulk (most probably at Costco) for a very low price, and fried in the restaurant. If you want this kind of meal, go to the local Costco to shop and fry all that at home. Dont waste your money on this place, not worth it!
Stooleys Cafe has been a longtime favorite restaurant of mine, but my most recent experience there will be my last. I often go for their 9.99$ meal combo, a great selection that combines students demands for cheap meal options with the restaurants strengths of making delicious burgers and fries. This bargain helped establish Stooleys brand as a budget-friendly restaurant for students, as it created a strong positive perception of the company and its products in customer s minds (What is Branding?). In a cut-throat service industry, this offering made the competition irrelevant by creating an uncontested market space, as nobody offered the value of the 9.99$. To my dismay, they increased the price of the offering and reduced the portion size. By changing the 9.99$, they demonstrated an inability to identify that their offering was very suitable for their target market of students, and generated a massive risk for their business by damaging their brand (What is market research?). Furthermore, my dining experience was far from the expected smooth process. The meal wasnt significant, enjoyable, or convenient, creating no differentiation between eating at Stooleys versus anywhere else. My waiter was neglectful and rude, and the poor service stood out in spoiling the dinner, as the best user experiences are the ones that the user doesnt even notice (A Great UX Inspires Brand Loyalty). When I informed the owner, he rejected my feedback and denied his own quality of service, the opposite approach that a business should be taking with regard to improving its offering. He omitted the importance of qualitative primary market research, which will hurt his understanding of customer needs, wants, and motivations as well as his insight into how to improve his service. (How do we do market research?).

Just an awesome place to have wings on wing night. 60 cents a wing and great owner and helpers. The owner and his helpers are very smart business people. The place is packed on wing night and pitchers of beer are cheap as well. Great business plan. Awesome experience, great wings, great people. Asked to watch the football game and it was on the tv 30 seconds later. University atmosphere with students and I had alot of fun.

A hidden gem... Unassuming exterior and a ways from other downtown restaurants... But this is a great place to get high quality food for cheap.
My brother in law is a food connoisseur and so he goes here for lunch at least once a week. He took me here for a lunch out treat at his favorite spot. The portions are substantial. There are several salads on the menu - all tasty. The fries are excellent - just the right crisp and spicey salt. The chef is friendly and has been there for 8 years. It is a homey, old worldy good home cooked sandwich and burger type place. Great omelets. Everything in the world is too expensive - 4 dollars for a coke and bag of pretzels at the service station - so 8 dollars for a 3 egg omelet with the works, with toast, a bit of salad and awesome fries seems a bargain.
Ordered from here for the first time after my exam tonight! The fries were crispy and addictingly delicious!! The wings were saucy and was a great portion! Labelling the boxes made it easy, and the smiley faces made me smile (: so happy will definitely order again!

I think the quality and cleanliness/decor need to improve. Prices are very competitive, however. Service was good. Location is central. Definitely has some nostalgia value too. Ill go back!
Service was prompt. Place could use a good scrubbing - my table had crumbs all over it and was sticky. Atmosphere is loud but lively. They dont serve the cheese steak hoagie anymore even though it is still listed on their website. The buffalo chicken wrap only has 5 or 6 small pieces of chicken scattered throughout so I wouldnt recommend.

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, and enjoyed a lovely meal. Great specials as well. The French fries are a MUST! their gravy is fantastic!!
Great owners good food good price
Good prices, cozy little dining room, the burger was delicious and built to have a great balance between meat, burger and toppings. The fries are the best however, crispy outside and super soft inside, and whatever they spice than with is great. Definitely worth the stop for fresh, hand made food.
Despite having lived practically my whole life in Kingston, Ive never even set foot in Stooleys. One of my friends shared their post about authentic Indian food and I was intrigued. My hubby is Indian and is always looking for tastes of home so we placed an order for pick up. They offer 4 dishes, always samosas and gulab jamin and they change out the mains. The person who took my order warned me the chicken achari was spicy, which it was but super tasty and the chicken was AMAZING! We ordered 2 of the chicken, 1 samosas, 1 daal makhani and 2 orders of gulab. Got it home and omg was it good! My husband, our son and I ate like royalty! It was so good! Id like to try their regular menu but I will be back for more Indian for sure!

While Stooleys serves rather agreeable food and provides a convenient and place to eat just off campus, I find it hard to recommend them. During my trip to Stooleys, they prominently displayed advertisements for a text-in 15%-off-your-meal coupon. Finding this appealing, I attempted to redeem said offer. Unfortunately thier system appeared to be down: I showed this to our server who alerted the owner. While the two of them tried to figure out the underlying issue, my fiancee and I had our meals, which as previously mentioned were agreeable. After eating I went up to pay and find out what had become of the afformentioned 15% off. I was told that because the issue lay with the PR firm that was running the promotion and not with the restaurant itself they would be charging me full price. As an aside, I find this blatantly unacceptable, as a customer I had done my part in the arrangement; the onus then lay with the business to honour the advertisement. I raised this very point, and after some persistence was given 10% off which I took, as the remaining 5% was not worth my time. I can not in good faith recommend a restaurant, or business for that matter, that would disrespect the customer like that.

Thursday wings for 50 cents and pitchers for $12, this is one of the best places to eat in Kingston. Owner and his son are great people and always take the time to check in on you and have a good conversation.

Overall good experience! The exterior of the building is a little misleading.. but the food is plentiful and tasty. Ive heard recommendations (and health warnings) galore for the grilled cheese, and my personal experience with the California Club had me wanting more.
My favorite orders are either the Cajun club, which comes with both fries and salad, or the enterprise platter, which is huge
