The Everly Restaurant & Lounge is a stylish mid-century inspired space offering a rotating, locally sourced menu of refined seasonal classics, a terroir-driven wine list, and a curated selection of classic cocktails. Open late
A nice place to eat. The food was prepaird well and was hot and tasty. The menu is a little limited. The main dishes I found to be a little minimalistic for the price. Presentation of the food was okay.
A hidden gem in Kingston, amazing food, service and ambient. We had the polenta as starters and for main course corn and ricotta capelet and fettuccine bolognese.
If I could give it a 10 out of 5, I would. We have been consistently going to the Everly for years now and the food, service, and atmosphere have never wavered. Actually, I think the Everly’s amazing service may have ruined us for all other dining experiences. We always find ourselves a bit let down when we eat elsewhere or travel. Having worked in the restaurant industry for many years in my youth, I definitely have high expectations, but the Everly exceeds them, without fail, every time. And, I haven’t even mentioned the delicious food yet… their commitment to using fresh, sustainable and local goods is commendable. We can eat here often and never tire of the menu because there is always something new. Attention to detail means every dish is exceptional, and the cocktails too. Did you know they squeeze their own juices? If you haven’t tried it yet, you should. It’s worth every penny! I know we’ll be back soon!
The Everly didn’t let me down. The food is brought from local farms so it’s super fresh. The best arugula salad I’ve had! The service was very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is trendy/chic. They change their menu every month as it goes along with what’s in season at the farms. They were also able to modify based on dietary restrictions. It’s slightly more pricey than other places but you’re paying for quality. Would come back!
Came here with my husband for date night and it came highly recommended to us. The waiter was nice, gave us some space but was available for order, questions, and check. He mentioned that everything on the menu is locally sourced from farmers and businesses in the area, which we were impressed with and glad to hear as we try to support local businesses as much as we can. He did also mention their menu changes by season, which makes sense given their local sourcing. The bread was really good and fresh, the food was delicious though quite pricey. We ordered a main, drinks, and dessert. I especially loved the dessert "eaton mess" it was very fluffy and light so it was perfect after a meal (not excessive). I should mention we went in August so this was a summer menu. I attached some pictures of the food. The ambience was modern with mid-century vibe.. i liked the wallpapers, the tables and the centerpieces. The washrooms were really clean and modern looking though they are downstairs in the basement and i did not see an elevator so probably not accessible for wheelchairs. I did find the sounds to be quite louder than i imagined.. the music was a nice volume but i found that all the tables and patrons were kind of loud maybe because they were in groups rather than couples? There is a sidewalk patio but it wasn't anything special at all no decorations or greenery or umbrella (at least not that i remember). Overall a 4/5.. i would come back for a special occasion maybe.
This was our first time dining at The Everly and it was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is 10/10 - beautifully decorated and the vibes are immaculate. Our server was great and friendly. Our food was phenomenal; fresh ingredients that left us completely satiated, and I have a big appetite. It’s definitely on the pricier range though, part of that might be the so called downtown tax in regards to Kingston. But we will definitely be returning.
Went to The Everly for Moms birthday, the service was fantastic and paced well. The food is creative, refined, and so good! Highly recommend for special occasions! I am vegan and had the gnocchi which comes with a tomato sauce ( ask for no cheese ). It was so soft and the tomato sauce was balanced. ❤️ Their menu rotates alot too!
We visited The Everly for the first time last night, but it will certainly not be our last visit. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and it is very clear that a lot of care went into every detail. Our waitress, Jess, was beyond lovely. She provided excellent, attentive service. Her genuine love for the restaurant and passion for its mission was clear. She told us all about their local suppliers and local wine list. The cocktails were wonderful. Pictured is the Bee's knees (a highly recommended Lemon/Honey Gin Tanqueray), the mushroom risotto (beyond delicious!), the kale salad (the best I have ever had), as well as the chocolate torte and pecan pie. Both looked so delicious that we could not decide. (And we are glad that we didn't!) Thank you for a lovely evening. We will be raving to everyone we know.
Excellent food. Great service. Our first visit went well. Well happily return to enjoy their regularly changing menu.
It was my first time at The Everly and it was fabulous! The atmosphere, the service and especially the food were all wonderful. A special thank you to Riley, Garrett and Jacob for their hospitality, kindness and creativity in the kitchen. My tastebuds were titillated! The attention to detail with each presentation was outstanding and the flavour combinations superb. A Kingston Gem!
Very tasty food, very nice atmosphere!
Absolutely loved it! Everything was fantastic! Will definitely come back whenever we visit Kingston!
Havent been to the Everly in a while, but man, am I glad I went back. The food was absolutely amazing! Far better than other nearby restaurants. The cod was out of this world. As well as the kale salad and burrata salad. Definitely worth visiting!
The starters were really good, but the main dish didn t meet the expectation.
great wine list + lovely service. the oysters & cheese tortellini were perfect.
Well received. Called me by name before I even said who I was and wished me a happy Birthday. Food was perfect and professional. Was aloud to speak in the kitchen and meet our chefs. Smiles and gratitude all around. Bottle wine prices a little over the top but by glass reasonable. The best salad was amazing. The squid was perfect with just a squeeze of lemon. My carbonara was over the top perfect flavours. Thanks for a great birthday
Will always be one of my favourite dinner places
Wonderful server and bartender. Best Bourbon Sour in Kingston. Chocolate torte and burrata were delicious. Emmy only other comment is to ease up on the air conditioning!
Lovely place, the servers and the owners made our night. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back!
Pros: -excellent, highly attentive service. The servers were by far the best part of the Everly experience. -Decor and atmosphere have potential -Great assortment of wines and cocktails. Cons: -The menu is repetitive, restrictive, and lacks creativity. You can have either Steak and deep fried potatoes (like fries). Fish, or pasta (vegetarian). A vegetable on the plate would be really lovely, or less focus on the deep fried potato stick. -they bring you dry bread bites without any spread, butter, or oil. It was strange and not very appetizing. -the seating for 2 is cramped. You re elbow to elbow with the other guests. A date night feels more like speed dating. The larger tables for groups seemed to have a little more separation, but we were literally in the conversations of the people beside us. -This place is LOUD. With so many tables tightly together, everyone needs to yell to be heard. Neutral: The food was expensive but seemed fair to market price. The food met (but did not exceed) expectations. We weren t disappointed, but we were not excited. Unfortunately what we remember from here was the dry bread offering with no spread and the deep fried potato theme as the only side for a large majority of the plates. Overall a nice place to check out once or maybe good for groups. Not recommended for a date night or party of 2. We ll be regulars somewhere else.
I absolutely love the vibe of beautiful this mid-century restaurant, its so romantic. The food was delicious and unique and the staff were so kind and knowledgeable. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Fantastic food and stellar service.
Went last night for the second time for Valentine s Day. Both times the food was perfect, delicious, flavourful and presented beautifully. Our server Sophie was helpful, kind and attentive
Best restaurant in town, hands down. We try to go at least once a month as they change their menu frequently.
Great DINING & SERVICE experience. I attended a business dinner and I was immediately impressed with Riley, our server. He gave me a great guidance at the wine-list and he was fast and very efficient when it came to serve our food. We were 21 guests. His recommended Chardonnay was outstanding and all dishes very tasty. The creamy dessert was fantastic Vegetarian options: I was impressed with my salad and the gnocchi.
The food is very expensive, the portion sizes are very small, and the menu is overly pretentious. I ordered a mushroom pasta dish that prided itself on four different kinds of mushrooms. The mushrooms were so thin and inconsequential that they might as well have been normal brown mushrooms. Left the restaurant still hungry, had to go get food after elsewhere. Bring your own olive oil and vinegar, when they bring you bread it comes with nothing.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly service! This was my second time at The Everly and it again was a great experience. The oysters are some of the best Ive ever had. I also very much enjoyed the crispy polenta fries they currently have and the beef tartare was also high quality and very tasty. I will definitely be back!
Perfect place for wine and oysters after work. OR take your time and enjoy a great evening
Have been multiple times and look forward to returning. Staff are always friendly and very helpful with their unique menu options. Steak frites has been delicious but they also have amazing pasta options. Would recommend booking a reservation if you d like a table but there s always room at the bar too!
Last night was our first experience at The Everly and we were definitely NOT disappointed. The ambiance was welcoming, the decor ++ classy and the food was delicious. I had one of the best martinis ever and the wine list is excellent. Our server, Jessica, couldnt have been friendlier or more helpful with our choices. It was great to see Amber again too! We loved it and we will be back!
Lovely dessert of shucked oysters and a cocktail with my son and his girlfriend.
Great cocktails! As a group of 7 seating was slightly tight but the service was superb. Some dishes were better than others, tartar was enjoyed more than the salmon crudo. Mushroom papardelle was voted better than the rabbit tortellini. Requests for food allergies were addressed well. Overall a lovely evening. Averaged $100 + per person with cocktails, app, main and wine
The Everly treated my husband and I to a perfect date night. We were both blown away by the quality and flavour of our entrees - the beef tenderloin and the mushroom pappardelle. Our server, Jasmin, made us feel well taken care of. Thank you!
Great service, amazing food. I had an allergy reaction, which is not the bartenders fault, but they really reacted in an amazing way and made sure I was okay. Best service Ive had in a long time. Definitely make a point to reserve a table when you are in Kingston!
What I like about this place: they have a rotating farm to table menu, where they partner with 20+ local farmers for new dishes. The interior is cute and cozy. The service is good, but I would have appreciated some advice, since I ordered both the salmon crudo and the beef tartare, and they were served practically the same way (traditionally salmon crudo is not served like this). The food itself did not stand out and was little bit of a let down. Maybe there are other menus that would be a lot better, but I do not think I would come back.
I had my birthday dinner here recently with a group. Overall I had an amazing time. I thought the food was fantastic and would categorize the service as good. It was very busy and we were a large group so were perhaps quite a bit more needy than other groups. It took a long time in between courses, which was fine because we were chatting and having a lovely time. However, it took a very long time to get the bills. I understand this isnt a great time when you have a group, but it was really an excessive wait - hence the 4 stars. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options were very good. Dietary restrictions: I had one GF guest, a vegetarian, and a vegan and all had at least one option.
Nice food and service in a wonderful environment.
This was our first time visiting after highly recommended by a good friend and BOY we were impressed. The service was wonderful, friendly and attentive. The food - oh the food! Mouth watering, beautifully put together menu, everything was thought through perfectly! Our biggest rave would be how locally focused this place is! One of the best supporters in the area , we were impressed. We are already planning our trip back!
Easily the best restaurant in Kingston. Food, wine, cocktails, and vibes on point! I really need to head back soon for that mushroom gnocchi.
Interesting limited menu, large wine list. Pleasant server. Prices reasonable.
Great decoration and service! Unfortunately, the confit rabbit leg was too salty.
An incredible find..when the owner welcomes you at the door and the partner is in the kitchen normally you are in great hands. Jordan and the team are seamless as a team. The food quality presentation and taste top notch! Highly recommended I will make the drive from Montreal for this experience Food
Fantastic food and overall experience at The Everly! The gnocchi was the best I ve ever had. While it may be on the pricier side as some of the other reviews are saying, it is 100% worth it and they source tons of their ingredients locally! Best restaurant in Kingston! Thank you for a great evening
Sat on the patio for a lovely dinner. Bees knees cocktail-delish! Melt in your mouth mushroom gnocchi. Food
Authentic Italian food, several of the dishes in our store are delicious. I saw many people ordering pizza, and it looks good. I plan to try it next time. The waiters are very enthusiastic, the service is in place, and the consumption experience is good. Will come again.
Definitely a gem and a great date spot. Food is delicious and there is a special table for 2 where you can people-watch to your heart s content. Some people may prefer to face each other, but I like to be next to my date and people watch together while enjoying delicious food!
Hostess was lovely. Just popped in for a glass of wine on patio. Our server barely spoke, took out order didn t ask if we wanted appetizers or food, left menus on table. Waited longer than should have for two glasses. He never returned to ask if we needed anything/more wine. We had to flag down the lovely hostess to ask for our bill. He came out with no machine. Again waiting .. This young man needs more training or a new job.
Close to a Michelin star. An absolute must for anyone who cares about food, the art of cookery and hospitality. Highly recommended.
My sisters and I ate here last night, everything was wonderful from the atmosphere, the service to the food and drinks. Definitely recommend the mushroom pasta. The dessert was lovely. I dont have a huge sweet tooth and the dessert was the perfect sweetness. I am looking forward to going back.
Jordan was absolutely wonderful i will definitely go back
Pretty mediocre. It s like if you wanted to serve high end ingredients but cooked it like you were going to Boston Pizza. Don t really recommend, it s pretty expensive for the quality and there s better places in the area.
Absolutely amazing food. Certainly in the top three eateries in Kingston. A must stop if youre passing through the city. Food : 5/5
Some of the most delicious food we ve ever tasted in our travels to over 40 countries! The chicken pate, Humboldt squid, chicken thighs, and steak frites were absolutely divine, and the cocktails so unique! The presentation was well thought out and picturesque. The wine list was well-curated. And finally, our server, Riley, was the perfect mix of knowledgeable, attentive, and personable!
A perfect dinner! Celebrated my birthday at The Everly and it was amazing. Food: The food was mouth-watering! Loved that they have a rotating menu featuring local and in-season ingredients. Seriously, that mint cucumber salad and the fresh peach dessert ?! #Sogood Service: The staff totally made my day. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, they pointed us to some amazing choices and made the experience . Atmosphere: The vibe was on point. Music was so good we were even Shazaming songs so we could save the playlist :). All in all, best birthday dinner ever. Cant wait to go back to The Everly! Thank you Amber and Jamie + Co
The beef tartare was amazing, the service and the other items people at my table had, not so much, other than the tartare most gave their dinners a 5 or 6 out of 10. A couple of people who had the fries, said they were very good. Overall we expected more. It is a very noisy place. Dietary restrictions: The restaurant will work with people who have dietary restrictions
My friend and I had reservations at another restaurant when we happened to come across the Everly. We decided to go in to have a glass of wine prior to our 6pm reservation, in order to kill time. Neither of us had ever been to the Everly before and what a wonderful gastronomical discovery it turned out to be! We sat at the bar and ordered the chicken pate and a glass of the PEC orange wine, both of which blew us away. Needless to say, we cancelled our reservation at the other place and decided to stay at the Everly for supper. Although small, the menu has been developed so there is something for everyone. Steak, seafood and pasta. My friend and I each had a pasta dish and we were thoroughly pleased and impressed by the freshness and quality of each dish. We even had dessert, the peach tart, which was absolutely heavenly and perfectly made without being overly sweet. A perfect finish to a five-star meal. The atmosphere at the Everly is calm and relaxing and decorated in an updated Art Deco, very sophisticated without being overdone. We were there on Wednesday evening and the place was almost filled which is unusual these days in the restaurant business but shows you that others, too, have discovered this lovely little jewel in the heart of downtown Kingston. One thing I have not mentioned is the service. Absolutely outstanding. Our server Jordan, understood and shared how each dish is made, with an emphasis on the Everlys farm to table approach. He takes great pride in his work and his attention to detail made us feel like very special customers even though this was our first visit. And it wont be our last. Its been a long time since Ive had such a wonderful dining experience and I am making the Everly my go-to place whenever Im in Kingston.
My friend and I popped into The Everly on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The entire experience was delightful from start to finish. The food was amazing and we were introduced to a most excellent wine. The service; oh the service! The servers demonstrated the utmost professionalism. Our coats were hung up for us when we arrived and were collected when we were ready to leave. One of the staff even held the door for us as we left. Jordan was an absolute pleasure to chat with and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and wines. Overall a great experience. Thanks everyone. As Arnie would say Well be back.
All around excellence. The food, the drink, the service... all five stars!
The portions were small but the service and the atmosphere were out of this world. Absolutely beautiful interior, stellar performance from the hostess and the wait staff. I also loved the food, all of it, we started with oysters and the chicken liver pate and we each ordered a vegetarian pasta dish, both so fresh and well made, but we were disappointed with the portion sizes.
The beef tartare was very good. The beef parpadelle is terrible. Do yourself a favor and do not order that. It is so bland, absolutely no flavors...not even good olive oil, salt, pepper or cheese. Kinda like a hamburger helper without the the sauce mix, just steak and pasta. I had everyone at my table taste it and all had the same impressions. The service was not the best as well, pretty slow and not very personal.
Best meal I ve had in ages! Had the kale salad and the squash agnolotti and just WOW incredible meal, service was impeccable. Wish I got the name of our server. She was blonde and really sweet and helpful. We will be back again!
My Favourite Place to Eat! We are so lucky to have this in Kingston. I especially love bringing people who havent been before and seeing them enjoy it for the first time! Its my staycation vacation every time I go. Great Owners and Staff. Cant say enough! Incredible!!
One of my favorite restaurants. The staff is always amazing. Food is spot on and the atmosphere is e v e r y t h i n g (and more)
Visited with my s/o for the first time on Saturday evening, we sat in the lounge and only ordered drinks. Service was top notch, the interior is well decorated and very cozy. Excited to return to try the food next time but cant stress enough how great the staff were, all friendly and always acknowledging guests arriving/leaving. Thank you!
Had one of the best meals of my life last night at The Everly. Tried the oysters, beef tartare, and shared four different mains. Everything was incredible. Drinks and service were on point too!!!
One of favourite restaurants in kingston! It is our go to place to celebrate, drink delicious cocktails, and enjoy a really well cooked meal. I always tell friends and family to go experience their ever changing local menu (and get their earl grey martini!)
Had an incredible dinner at The Everly. The staff were wonderful, beautiful cocktails, great options for sharing or larger plates, the courses were paced well, and the over experience was fantastic. We will definitely be going back!
Classy vibe, excellent service, and smaller but tasty menu - weve never been disappointed with our night out here! Their chocolate torte is a perfect way to end your meal!
One of our favorite spots in Kingston. Menu changes frequently so its always exciting to try new things. Great service, atmosphere, and experience.
The Everly was absolutely perfect for dinner. The staff was attentive and friendly. Kudos to Amber and her staff.
The environment is very suitable for a date, the service is also very good, and he wished us a happy birthday ~ I like the potato dumplings (I picked them blindly), they are so delicious! Will come again to eat potato dumplings
Dinner tonight was fantastic, Amanda are server was excellent. We ordered the corpse reviver #2, the spring Manhattan, and the elder flower spritzer. All were delicious and had great presentation. For dinner we ordered the always amazing oysters and mushroom bruschetta, the linguine vongoie (highly recommend) and spagettoni. For dessert was a delectable panna cotta
David and the server that was shadowing him were fantastic! The atmosphere is terrific. The drinks were great. The oysters were delicious and a great quality. We ordered everything off the small plates menu and each flavour was incredible and was followed up beautifully with a chocolate torte! I recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists.
Very nice meal, good treat night.
We dined at the Everly for a special occasion. The atmosphere is very classy and chic. From a variety of dishes we tried, I savored the Beef Tartare, Rabbit Saddle, and Pecan Pie (pictured below) the most. The beef tartar flavours were spot on, and the pecan pie made my teeth sing!
We had a stellar experience at The Everly for my wife s birthday celebration. Communication while planning and booking the dinner was prompt and efficient. The service staff was flawless and they accommodated serving a custom made cake for our table. Last but certainly not least, the food served to everyone was absolutely spot on. The steak frites and beef tartare is phenomenal, one of the best dining experiences I ve had in years.
Excellent food. Wed never had a carrot dish with such complexity.
A lovely place to celebrate any occasion! Friendly and knowledgeable staff eager to recommend menu pairings to each individual s taste and preferences. Very elegant and romantic dining experience, would highly recommend!
We got the beef tartare and chicken liver pate to start. They all tasted not bad. But we were not happy with the entrees. The shrimp risotto was VERY disappointing. It was way too salty that it s burning my tongue. We had to send this dish back but the chef insisted there s no salt added to the dish and the flavor all comes from ingredients. If that risotto tastes normal to the chef, I don t think I can trust this restaurant anymore. The steak was not juicy and it s also kinda salty. The lemon tart was way too sour that it tasted like lemon juice concentrate. I personally like my fruit tarts to be very sour so I can tolerate it. But this tart almost killed my friend after he took the first bite. There re many fine dining places that are way better than here, so I ll not recommend.
Best restaurant in Kingston. Expensive, but well worth it. All dishes, bread, sauces, dessert were made from scratch using local ingredients. The food was fresh, intelligently crafted, delicious, novel. Highly recommend.
So pricey!! The food was not acceptable at all . Whatever we wanted to order was either finished or did not offer anymore. They said we change our menu each month, which is ridiculous. The only good thing was Jordan, the server who was so nice, that s the only good part of this awful restaurant. The shrimp spaghetti was so bad, and also the size of the shrimps were so small.
The staff are very professional, but a little cold. The food was very delicious, but the portions are incredibly small. This may be be a better lunch location than dinner location.
Super friendly owner and staffs , great good and very relaxed atmosphere!!! Cant wait to go back for visit!!!
This is a great spot if you are looking for something special. The oysters are top notch, the cocktails are unique and fun, and everything on the menu that I have tried (including the chicken liver pate - not something I would normally get) have been fantastic.
In a word charming !
The food was really incredible! I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a restaurant worth revisiting.
Excellent food. Not too many items on the menu. The French fries are excellent.
We dined in to celebrate the sale of our home. Excellent meal and the service was excellent
Food excellent!! Waiter good aswell. It seems they have taken away the white tablecloths (which was a nice touch for fine dining). The decor is alittle cold and sparce though. Although a very nice restaurant it needs to warm up the space. The surroundings in a restaurant is part of the experience. They could do this through warmer paint colours. They dont need to go through the same design firm everyone goes to in Kingston (This seems to be the only design store front in Kingston). For what reason this firm gets chosen for everything. There are great designers in Kingston that do not have a store that do much better work at alot less money! Ask them.
Great interior design with a ton of attention to detail that makes for a great atmosphere. The staff were professional and personable. The cocktails were unexpected, well presented, and tasty. The small plates I tried were incredible. Highly recommend for a special evening out.
Staff was very friendly Everything tasted amazing! Our group ordered bruschetta ( each piece could be shared by 2 ppl), steak frites, spaghetti snd salmon. Everyone really enjoyed what Rhys had
Went to the Everly for dinner. The food was pretty good, the service was unfortunately not. We ordered the buratta, corn, pomodoro pasta, shrimp risotto, steak, salmon, and the Pavlova- style dessert. The pasta pomodoro, corn, and buratta were GREAT. So was dessert. We sat down at 7:35pm - Food did not hit the table for over an hour after we were seated. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgement of the wait- and this continued to happen throughout the evening. We had to ask for fresh plates after appetizers, and dessert took 30+ minutes to get to the table. The servers were standing around chatting a lot and there seemed to be a lack of awareness. In a nice restaraunt a check- in, complimentary Prosecco or dessert or simple acknowledgment can go a long way when the service is lacking or the kitchen is slow. I think everyone is struggling right now post pandemic- this spot is lovely so I hope they pull through.
I came for the lemon tart but stayed for every other reason. I love the Everly. Kingston deserves it. A place where you can feel a little fancy and appreciate local ingredients. Ps, the lemon tart was worth it alone
Visited on 26/08/2022 @ 1700hrs because of the 1/2 price oysters promotion. We were greeted by a smile immediately at the door. We chose a alfresco seat. Waitress (Amber) was prompt to give us the menu, came at appropriate times to check in on us throughout our course of meals. Absolutely love the hell out of the oysters. Although they are small in size, but every single piece of them was so fresh, you could almost taste the Ocean in your mouth, in a pleasant way. The shrimp risotto was awesome too, almost had a thai green curry spin on it. Love the farm to table concept, utilizing produce according to the season changes so that patrons always have something new to try. Price is on the high side though, but think it is a perfect restaurant to indulge once in a while because everyone deserves indulgence every now and then. :) Special shout out to Amber.C for her excellent service and we had a great chat!
Our favorite location for any celebration occasion! Never disappoints.
This place was lovely for dinner. I love that their menu changes monthly, based on the season. Everything was fresh and delicious. Hopefully they keep the Chocolate Torte on the menu because it was AMAZING! Their wine and beer selection isnt sold at the LCBO which makes you feel a little fancy and is nice that it introduces you to new things you may otherwise not have tried. Definitely worth checking this place out!
Great place for dessert and cocktails. I found the entrees were underwhelming for the price, but came back again for an after dinner drink and snack. Photos: lemon tart, seasonal fruit and cream, paper plane cocktail.
Reservations required otherwise, considered peasantry from the streets.
Awesome meal, enjoyed every bite. Looking forward to a return visit
Food was fantastic, the crispy rabbit is still haunting me! The Chicken Liver app was delicious as well. The service was professional, friendly and present without being overly familiar or hovering. We were served mostly by Nick the bartender, who was really great and knew the menu inside and out. The only downside was the bar-side booth we sat at. It was really uncomfortable and awkward. I did request a booth in the lounge area, but going forward would specifically avoid that one.
Immediately impressed by the warm, welcoming host, even on a cold & busy Saturday night, and her willingness to make dinner work for us! Would definitely recommend making a reservation if you can. Gorgeous, cozy place with beautiful design and food. Pricier, but worth it for amazing pastas, focaccia, and drinks.
The food is creative, has a farm to table vibe and whatever i dont finish, i alwaystake home! The staff is very friendly and youre always greeted with a smile. I also love how they switch the menu up every once in a while. Highly recommend!
Your back bar and bartenders are so good. Whyfor the basic cocktail menu? Be brave.
The atmosphere is lovely, the service excellent and the food exquisite. Now my favourite restaurant in Kingston.
honestly, the overall experience was alright. i ve had take out from here (bruschetta, wedge salad, sides) that was better than dining in. the salmon appetizer was overpowered with horseradish and dill. the wine was nothing like what the waiter described despite it being a pretty expensive bottle. the rigatoni was good and the squash ravioli was fine even though both were the size of tapas. the side potatoes were pretty much raw but the sauce was good (although it tasted like ketchup and mayo). our server was very timid and not timely (didn t ask how our meal was, didn t want to make any sort of small talk, and waited quite a bit for our bill after asking for it). i was so excited to dine in house here but was let down. the atmosphere is amazing and it s a beautiful spot but the food and service is only alright considering the price.
Very disappointed high prices, mediocre food.
Amber and her team are the perfect mix of friendly and professional, the food is consistently excellent, well priced, with a well curated and moderately priced wine list and the atmosphere is beautiful and the restaurant (including washrooms) is immaculate. Love the bottle shop and AT HOME zoom tastings and now the in person wine education and tastings events. Great job! 5 stars
Steak and Frites were amazing. If I wasn t so full I would go back for seconds!
The Everly is our absolute go-to in Kingston. I cant say enough good things. We had our most recent experience last week, went with a group of friends after work and snagged a cozy table. We had beautiful cocktails (ask for the James Street Sour if its not on the menu, so so good) to start and shared a few plates - beef tartare and tuna crudo are amazing, a new squid dish, beautiful polenta fries, their amazing kale caesar salad, and the mushroom gnocchi. There is a chocolate torte that I hope NEVER rotates off the menu and we had this with an amazing eggnog panna cotta. You are always treated with warmth and professionalism from their awesome team - Riley took care of us on Thursday and was so knowledgeable about the food and had some great wine recommendations. Three of our party had never been to the Everly and were totally blown away. If you havent been, give it a try! Mouth watering as I write this :)
Always great food, service and ambiance! Had the kale, ricotta and prosciutto stuffed pasta - It was amazing- I suggest the Bachelder chardonnay to pair. Delicious!
I would rate this restaurant 6/5 if I could. Amber and her team carefully cater the menu to display the best produce, meat, and even ceramicware that Kingston and the surrounding area has to offer!
Great food and friendly staff
The iconic pink chairs on the patio caused much intrigue and I was not dissapointed at all! Everything, down to the juice in the cocktail is locally sourced and handmade. I will definitley be going back. My favourite food item was the mushroom bruschetta!
Went twice in a week on a recent visit to the city. Great food, well executed, and great wine selection. Service was top notch.
Came here while visiting from out of town. Everything about our visit was enjoyable. Highly recommended the oysters, they were some of the freshest Ive ever had. My husband and I will definitely be putting The Everly on our go to list whenever we are back in Kingston.
Fantastic attention to detail and quality of food! Amazing local but also unique international beverages.
So nice to be pampered after the Covid lockdown. The Everly has a great vibe & the service from David was great. Our appetizers, Beef Tartar & Chicken Liver Pate were excellent. My steak frits was very flavourful, but not as tender as I would have liked. My wifes Halibut was great, she loved it. Unfortunately, we were too slow & the Berry Mess desert was gone, so we didnt have desert. All in all I would definately recommend The Everly!
WOW!! Amazing ambiance and great food. A must in Kingston.
Great experience! Beautiful setting, great service and attention from staff and incredible food! Well worth a visit.
This place hardly deserves the 1 star. Incredibly rude manager refused to seat our family because they said they don t want to overwhelm the kitchen and there s too many of us (we re a family with 2 young kids) meanwhile the entire patio was empty and the inside wasn t half full. There is no policy about limiting seating here in Kingston. She was short with us and rude. We found the entire experience hostile for no reason.
Incredibly rude and condescending management. Has a fully empty patio on a Saturday evening in downtown Kingston in August and yet will invent a policy to deny a family from being seated because they don t want their kitchen to be overwhelmed. If they d approached us respectfully and just said they were fully reserved that would have been understandable. Incredibly unprofessional. Their response to a previous review sounds like a textbook example of what not to say in hospitality 101 class. The 1-star is still too much for them.
Awful. Lobster was over-cooked and rubbery. Got food-poisoning the next day.
I visited The Everly while on a trip from Toronto and the experience was great from start to finish! I loved the atmosphere. The employees were friendly, the Rosé wine that was suggested ( I wish I wrote it down) was incredible and the pasta I had was very fresh and delicious. Whenever Im back in Kingston, I will be sure to visit again.
I had a wonderful experience at the Everly and will definitely be returning soon! The staff were warm, knowledgeable and helped me navigate the menu when I wasnt sure what I wanted to order. In a bold move for me, I tried the rabbit rillette and it was excellent! My friend had the rigatoni and I was able to steal a bite, also fabulous. Its nice to know they work with local farmers, when we do go out and treat ourselves to a lovely meal it helps to know that the resturant supports the community and makes sustainable decisions. Win win!
This review was a little more challenging to write, the atmosphere absolutely 5 star, the food was delicious, although the steak left a little to be wanted. Here is where the experience became a little harder to judge , we were sat in a fantastic seat, little table just slightly separated from the main room, where you can watch the action at the bar and its set up so you sit beside your partner , we loved this seat, however it is a raised bench with no where for your feet to go so unfortunately after sitting for a short time legs started to hurt , and had become quite uncomfortable, just adding a foot rail at a reasonable height would make this a favorite seat for a couple like us out for our anniversary. Staff was super accommodating and moved us to another table. The only other tweak we felt was worth a mention was the cocktail menu, most of which is gin, with 1 vodka and 1 brandy drink listed, this made it tough for drink sampling as the plan had been to celebrate and sample the cocktail menu. Fortunately for our second round the server understood our want for something other than gin and got us what I beleive she called a Kelowna, this was a great option . So in summation, atmosphere great! Staff great! Food great! Seating and cocktails could use a little touch but certainly not enough to drop a star from the rating , hopefully our next visit will be during the next cocktail rotation on the menu. Pictured is the drink that saved the night ;)
Nice restaurant. Great service. Tasty food. ... Pricey. A modest dinner for two was $85 including tax and tip. No booze, no appetizers, no dessert.
Not that this is a bad restaurant, but there are restaurants in the Kingston area that are much better at this price point. The service was very good though.
Phenomenal dining experience from atmosphere & staff to the exquisite food!
Great place for an evening drink. Delicious rotating menu too!
Staff were amazing, food was delicious.
Food was amazing and service top notch!
Love the atmosphere of this restaurant, the chicken liver pâté was delicious. We also had the bruschetta and the frititti. I felt that both the later two dishes were a bit heavy on the ricotta, and the large amount of cheese took away from the dish overall. Having less cheese and a bit more olive oil, salt and pepper with the bruschetta would have made it amazing. Overall; great place to eat, just needs to fine tune a few minor details to elevate the cooking and balance the flavours.
Love this place. Customer service is excellent, food is full of flavour and attractively displayed. We couldn t decide on one appetizer so we ordered four as our dinner.
We enjoyed a WONDERFUL dinner at the Everly celebrating our anniversary. The staff was friendly and very professional. The food and wine selections were the best we have had in a long time. Steak done to perfection! We will definitely return. Thank you to Amber and Jamie for persevering through a pandemic so soon after opening to bring this culinary experience to Kingston. Would highly recommend!
Had a lovely anniversary dinner!! Food was great.
//////A bit too big for their britches. /////////Margaritas and steak frites were very good. Ceviche a little wet. Oysters not as cold as they should be. Rapini tasty but salty. Service was young and slightly disinterested. The moment we sat down at a cute side-by-side w a great view of the bustling dning room, a server came by to welcome us by stating, kind of abruptly, the next seating was in 90 minutes. So, you know, gotta think about moving on, vs settling in, before we even took a look at les menus. Focus on less time constricted service - even when youre slammed. With respect.
Wow.... What a great experience dining at the Everly Friday night!! I cannot say enough... our food choices were absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding - our experience was top notch right up to our departure as we were thanked at the door as it was held open for us as we left. Our waitress was very professional and attentive consistently. Thank you!
We had our wedding reception in the upstairs dining area at The Everly. Amber took care of all the dietary arrangements leading up to the reception and she was a joy to work with. Our food was amazing, all of my guests were very impressed with the quality and portion sizes. I highly recommend this venue for any private events and look forward to dining there again soon.
Very nice looking restaurant. Perfect for date nights.
Excellent service, delicious food and wonderful ambience!
Visited The Everly about a week ago with My son and daughter. Amazing service by professional staff. The restaurant atmosphere and mood are of a rarity that is not found outside of European high quality restaurants and lounges. The food was excellent and coupled with the staff impeccable service; we had a wonderful meal and time . Definitely will visit again soon. Thank you.
The servers we awesome. The chefs did a stellar job.
Great food and experience. Highly recommend.
Chic spot with a lovely atmosphere. The food is terrific with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail. A perfect addition to the downtown Kingston restaurant scene. Limited hours so be sure to make a reservation.
Wow... First dinner at the Everly tonight but it wont be my last. We were a couple minutes late and they were accommodating and understanding. The staff was attentive & easy-going --- allowing us to truly savour the experience in this new #ygk gem! Prosecco, Frites, Beef Pappardelle, and dessert.. the food was a HUGE highlight. The ambience of the chandelier and decor completed the chic vibe of a Montreal style upscale dining experience. Very impressed!!
Our experience at The Everly was top notch - great ambiance (trés chic!), a warm welcome, lovely and knowledgeable staff, delicious cocktails followed by an incredible meal. A great addition to Kingston. Well done! See you again soon.
Had dinner at The Everly for the first time. Price was about average for a more upscale dining experience in Kingston. But the food was delicious and definitely worth it. We started with the oysters, which were average. For the main course, we had the Beef Papardelle and the Rabbit Casarecce. Both were delicious but the rabbit surprisingly was the better of the two. Pannacotta was to DIE for! We shared it, but definitely regretted not getting one each! There were dates on the top of the menu, suggesting a rotating menu. Looking forward to trying other menus.
i would give this place 6 stars if i could.
Classic dishes with a creative twist! The food was delicious and well balanced, the cocktails were perfect and the service was excellent. The Everly brings an elegant, fresh and long overdue vibe to downtown Kingston. For fans of whiskey sours, I suggest kicking off the evening with the James Street sour garnished with a cherry picked from James Street itself. The Butternut Agnolotti, has the perfect balance of sage and butter that highlights homemade pasta. The star of the evening was the decadent flourless chocolate tort. While others raved about the Pana cotta, which was also delicious, anyone who is a fan of chocolate should not miss out on this dessert Cannot wait to return!
Excellent cocktails and food. Excellent service. My new favourite restaurant in Ktown!
Went as a walk-in for dinner on a Saturday night and had a fantastic experience. The cocktails and food were amazing! I ordered the Squash Agnolotti and it was fantastic, they make their pasta in-house and you can definitely taste the difference. Panna Cotta for dessert - nothing better. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the overall atmosphere was lovely. I went alone and had a great time but it would be a good date destination or even just a dinner with friends. Highly recommend!
I had the pleasure of dining at The Everly Saturday night for the first time. First thing that draws your eye is the elegant chandelier hanging in the main dining room. Classy from the beginning of the night. Bartenders are skilled and can mix up a great Martini. A table visit from owner Amber was a nice touch.. Dinner was spot on, perfectly timed small plates, a chilled bottle of wine from the extensive wine list, the main was exquisite. I recommend the Chocolate Torte should you have any room left after dinner. A welcome breath of fresh air for the Kingston dining scene. Great job Amber and Jamie. Aaron
Really lovely atmosphere, superb customer service from the minute you walk in the door, lovingly made cocktails, good wine list and delectable food. Were vegetarian and, while the options were somewhat limited, the staff ably advised us on what to try, and we enjoyed every bite!
Amazing staff, so welcoming and full of knowledge of the menu! The food and cocktails are spot on. Loved the atmosphere, so perfect for a girls night or a romantic evening out!
Great location, beautiful space and friendly staff. I did try to order a cosmo and was told they dont have cranberry juice. Do the cool kids not drink Cosmos anymore? Am I dated? . Only went for cocktails with friends so I do look forward to trying the food next time.
Pork belly main was phenomenal! Wine selection is great. Cocktails looked awesome. Beef tartar was good but needed better crisps to serve it with. Squid app was so-so. Also, server should have served us the wine (we were pouring it for ourselves) and we should have had plates and oil/butter for our focaccia when it came. Lastly, would have been nice to have steak knife for the entree. With a little polishing, this would easily be a 5 star Kingston restaurant.
Best food I have had in Kingston in a long time.
My husband and I recently had dinner at the Everly and I have never been so disappointed. We ordered the pulled pork croquets as an appetizer. They tasted like chicken nuggets, but had the texture of canned tuna, it was about as appetizing as it sounds. For dinner I had the strip loin. It was incredibly salty, but was also covered in so much butter that it became greasy. The fries that came with it were salty to the point of being inedible. My husband ordered the Ragu. It too was greasy, like the beef hadn t been drained. Had very little sauce and was overwhelmingly salty. I have never complained about a meal, but this time I had to say something. They comped my husbands meal which was nice, as I don t expect something for nothing. But, that said, the meal was by far the worst thing I have had in a restaurant and cannot recommend eating here. If you are coming for drinks, they have a great selection. This is likely going to be their saving grace. I sincerely hope the food improves as this is a very new restaurant, but it was a massive disappointment for us.
Hands down the best restaurant in Kingston. Great food, amazing wine and cocktails (and fun mocktails too), personal, friendly and professional service.
Food is amazing, you can tell the chefs really put their time and love into everything, service staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and polite, Ill be visiting every time I am back in Kingston.
Last night my Fiance and I had the most amazing experience at The Everly. We met the owner, Amber and enjoyed every aspect of their offerings. We loved everything on their menu and couldnt choose what to have first, so we had the staff serve us table dhôte and they knocked it out of the park! From stuffed zuchini flower fritti, beef tartar and shrimp cocktail to house made lobster ravioli and a beautiful chicken dish. Dessert was a delicious meringue dish and a cherry franipane tart perfectly paired with a hot cappuccino. This is by far the best restaurant in Kingston. We cannot wait to go back time and time again!
High quality cocktails and even better service. The staff creates a very friendly and professional environment
Absolutely wonderful experience. We had the chicken liver pate, stuffed zucchini flowers, mushroom papardelle, lobster ravioli, eton mess, and cherry franipane tart, and every single dish was beyond expectations. Just a really really good night out with incredible food. A real treat for sure!
Loved everything about our meal at The Everly. We have been 3 times now and the food is delicious. I appreciate that much of the food is local. We have had most of the items on the menu. I love that the menu doesnt have a lot of options as it truly shows their respect for choosing local foods and their appreciation for making delicious food. The beef tartare is my favorite item along with the chicken liver pate. The cocktails are amazing and so are the desserts! The Eton Mess dessert was spectacular. I am still dreaming about it. If you enjoy supporting local farmers and chefs who value quality over quantity, then this is the spot for you! You will not be disappointed.
Local products for wonderful dishes. Nicely executed and with great service. The best Steak Tartare that i found in Canada.
The service was fantastic! The decor was so fresh. And the food and drinks were incredible. Definitely the best restaurant in Kingston!
Is it normal to order a rum coke and pay for the rum and then coke? Besides that.. the service was amazing.. just the little things like filling my glass of water every time it was low..
All I can say is WOW. Lobster ravioli and beef tartar were out of this world delicious. Amazing food, great service, comfy ambiance. Highly recommend The Everly.
Excellent food. Perfect quantities. Awesome service. Surprisingly we were served in French! Thanks
Really good food with good size portions (was expecting small portions as expected in similar style restaurants in Toronto/Ottawa). Beautiful decor and incredible cocktails!
Fabulous food, drinks, and service!
Excellent food, drinks and service!! A lovely evening out, cant wait to return
Disappointed in the food :(
I love The Everly in downtown Kingston, Ont. The service is friendly and knowledgeable, which is key with the seasonal menu of locally sourced menu items. The atmosphere is second to none here in town, and invites you in to be attended to and fed beautiful food. I love that I can get fresh, creative & deeply yummy food only a short walk from home. The owners Jamie & Amber work tirelessly to make sure their staff & customers are treated like family. A MUST TRY.
Excellent food, great atmosphere. We sat in the small second floor area which was perfect. Highly recommend.
Great wine list and incredible fresh pasta. Have dined in and had their takeout and both were Great. Beautiful interior. Classy spot, and the owners are very friendly!
Amazing atmosphere. Very professional and kind staff. Had four different plates. Food was out of this world. Haven t had consistently good food like that since living in Europe. Amazing layers of flavour. We will be back.
I think this is my new favourite restaurant in Kingston. The cocktail and wine list was impressive. The house made pasta makes such a difference. The steak tartare made me feel like I was at a bistro in Paris. And the bread was among the best i ve ever had. But the fact that they are doing their best to use locally sourced ingredients with a seasonal menu was one of the best parts of this restaurant. All around amazing experience, 10/10 would recommend.
Absolutely amazing experience overall. Great, modern, throw back atmosphere and the food is incredible. The menu looks like it is always changing with what is locally available and leaves you wanting to come back so you dont miss any of the creations from the very talented kitchen.
One of the best restaurant experiences weve had, in no small part because of our server David who was incredible from start to finish. He really enhanced the overall experience for us and is very friendly, knowledgable and interactive. The food was excellent. We got every appetizer, a lot of the sides, the pasta and steak and two desserts. There is nothing to criticize about any of the dishes. We were pleasantly surprised about how big the portion sizes were and blown away by the uniqueness, flavour and freshness of the dishes. The cocktails were excellent as were the desserts. The ambiance and aesthetic were also very nice and the price point for this quality of food was fair if not generous. Thanks for the great night out :)
What an amazing dinner we had last night! Portions were generous, flavours were all there, and the restaurant takes pride in using local ingredients. We ordered several dishes -- all the appetizers were delicious, most notably the squash fritti and the mushroom arancini. The oysters were fresh and meaty. Thursdays they have cheap oyster nights so we will definitely be back on a Thursday. The mushroom pappardelle pasta was really good too, and apparently all the pasta is cooked in house. Not only was the food top notch, the cocktails and service was also great. Our waiter David really enhanced our experience. He recommended the perfect order to bring out our many dishes, and even treated us to an appertif after our last meal. Will definitely be back here again!!!
The best place for a cozy night out with your girlfriends or a romantic dinner night out. The service is incredible. The servers are so friendly - you want to keep going back! I LOVE the wine selection and the classic cocktails. The food? The beef tartare, whipped ricotta - do it! If you love pasta, the mushroom parpardelle is wonderful! Thank you Everly for the amazing dining experience !
Excellent munchies and wonderful service. We have a super friendly waitress that always recognizes us when we come in. The pasta (especially mushroom) and the pork belly is great! Love the squash fritti and tartare too! Definitely get the chocolate or frangipane tarts, we even take extra ones home!
Great ambience and decor. I really enjoyed a cocktail that I had. I forget the name but had earl of grey and egg white in it. The egg white is a lot tastier than it sounds. Im usually a vodka soda kinda gal and nothing too sweet but this cocktail was perfect! I still think about it to this day. The food was great. Had pasta with mushrooms and a mushroom appetizer. I forget the names of those too as it was some time ago I was there. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. Overall I had a great experience!
GREAT service, very nice environment and the food was top rate. Definitely one of the best dining experiences in the city! Thanks.
A few opening night kinks that I assume will be ironed out as time goes on (No draft beer at the moment, some 86ed items) kept me from giving this a 5/5 but overall a very nice experience. The staff are all very welcoming and professional and the food was tasty. I got a carbonara and everything was very well-balanced: Neither too salty, nor too rich. Some good cocktails to choose from and a very nice wine list, too. Definitely look forward to coming back and giving it a second go.
