The moussaka was great though the salads were just average. The pita chips were a nice touch but overall I would say there was a disproportionate amount of lettuce compared to the rest of the veggie toppings. I had also asked for the dressing on the side but our waiter forgot - it’s ok, it happens! Though I will say the salad dressing was drizzled on top so there were pools of it within some of the lettuce pieces. I think it could be better tossed in before it’s served. But overall, could be worse!!
We have been to the Greek Islands restaurant numerous times over the years while visiting Kingston. The food and atmosphere has been consistently excellent and the service has always been great. Tonight was even better. Riddhi was our server and I can say without reservation that we had service that was beyond excellent. Despite the restaurant being very busy, we waited for nothing and our every request was addressed immediately. Riddhi was absolutely professional, very polite, and a pleasure to deal with throughout our dining experience. With service like that you can’t go wrong!!!
Nice Greek/Cypriot place. You pretty much have to get the saganaki cheese, fried and then flambe at your table, really fun. Lots of good traditional meals. I like the dolmades and the mousaka, the horiatiki salad has lettuce, but it is still tasty. Lots of parking. Staff is pleasant. Resevation is a good idea, ask to be seated near the fireplace on a cold day.
From out of town and was looking for a good restaurant comparable to what we have in Toronto. Arrived at not a busy time. The restaurant is very clean. The menu is extensive. The food was really good. Probably better than some I’ve been to in Toronto. There is love put into making the food. The dips were so delish! The rice was very flavourful. The meats were of excellent quality. Very surprised with this great find. Will come back again when I’m in the area!
Updated: They have increased the prices and nickle and dime for upgrades and won’t let you swap fries for a salad for the wraps without paying $8. Quality of food is okay, not worth over $20 for lunch. Very cute restaurant. The staff are nice, food was good. The prices were okay, I wouldn’t say cheap, but not overly expensive. The interior is probably the best part, very aesthetically pleasing with beautiful murals. The gyro meat was good, but the rice was forgettable. If you can, get fries over the roasted potatoes.
What to say..... We got the dinner for two. Our waitress must have been new because she didn't really understand the set menu for the dinner. The table bread arrived and it was 3 triangles of bread, toasted but not hot because the butter they added did not melt. Bread tasted stale and was not eaten. The soup was good my husband said. I had the ceasar salad..over dressed with dressing, the Parmigiano was i dont believe real aged Parmigiano. It was soft and squiggly. And a few strategically placed croutons. The next course was the dip platter with 2 stuffed grape leaves. Grape Leaves were delicious. The dips were good. Enjoyed that plate. Next up..2 lonely shrimp and a few chunks of Calamari. I let my husband enjoy the two shrimp. This dish was not worth it. Next up was a nice healthy serving of a baked pasta dish that I enjoyed. Lastly...the meat platter. 2 tiny Lamb chops, a skewer of pork souvlaki and a flattened chicken breast with a second plate with potatoes, veggies of broccoli and cauliflower and rice. Nothing in this platter was great. The meat was either undercooker or overcooked and dry. The veggies must have been frozen, the rice flavorless and the texture not great and the roast potatoes dry. There is so much more you could be doing to make this over 100 dollar meal for two delightful experience. And your server shouldn't wear excessive perfume...it kills the experience. Overall would I come back..probably NOT. Eat somewhere else folks.
On our way back home we stopped by Kingston to grab a bite at Greek Islands. We really enjoyed our food. It took about 45mins for us to get our order but the server served us another bread and greek salad meanwhile (and she did not charge us for the second round of bread, first round was complimentary - so sweet of her). Overall we loved this restaurant. Worth stopping by to eat good food.
Food is fantastic and so flavorful. My niece ordered the lunch fettuccine Alfredo and loved it. She totally loved the “fireworks cheese”. I had the gyro platter. This could totally be me nitpicking but my water wasn’t refilled and the server only came to the table to take the order and bring the order. No checking in between. Thus the empty water cup. Super friendly though. We were not sure how to pay as we sat there for so long. Headed to the bar but she came back. UPDATE: returned again and had an incredible time. Everyone was very happy to be there and the service was spot on.

A 23.00 Salmon lunch, comes with potato and rice No salad, no vegetable on the plate. It just isnt right to serve a meal this way. A meal should be served with a vegetable of some sort. If you take away the carbs and pay another dollar, you can have a salad. Ridiculousness You lost two customers today because you are too cheap to buy lettuce? It isnt that pricey and you are a restaurant. Shame on you.
What a fantastic place. The ambiance, meal and service staff was amazing. They even had birthday balloons for our granddaughters birthday. Vegetarian options: Mousaka for both vegetarian and not was a great oprion Parking: Tricky later in evening. We came earlier.
This was the worst lunch I have ever had! The house wine was absolutely terrible, the salmon was so bad that my husband couldn t eat any of it, and my chicken was very dry! I have had great meals here on the past but will never eat here again!

My lunch entree was an abundance of rice and fries with a small portion of gyro. The latter was very good, but really, rice and fries are an odd combination together.
Moussaka was horrible tonight. Nothing like it used to be here for years. My friend sent her meal back due to 2 black hairs in her pasta. Her hair is platinum blond, thus they weren t hers. Not returning.
Not the sane restaurant as before. Had dinner with a friend last night. There were 2 long black hairs in ny pasta. One on top to the side and one inside when I put my fork in. The Waitress was not apologetic at all, in fact she was reallyl rude. Service too was awful. Do not eat there, I still am creeped out. I used to really really like the restaurant.
Went here for a family lunch. The food and service was excellent. If you want to avoid the downtown area, I highly recommend this place located mid-town. The atmosphere is great. Thank you Riddhi.

Very nice decor. Service was quick and friendly. Food was great. We shared souvlaki and a Greek salad. Some of the vegetables that came with the souvlaki were a bit overcooked, but I am always happy to get vegetables, that is so rare in restaurants. Plus the salad was a really generous serving.

I didnt like this food. It didnt taste like any Greek food Ive had before. Bland.
Sadly they recently changed their menu, upped the prices and now you have to pay $7 if you want to add salad making it over $30 for a meal. Food is good but there are more reasonably priced greek restaurants in town. We ended up leaving and going to another place where the salad was included which is the norm for most Greek restaurants Ive been to.

Had a lovely lunch with family here. Excellent food, great portion sizes, amazing service, and desert to die for. I got the combo platter and it was great! Vegetarian options: Plenty of yummy vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: They have markers for gluten-free, halal, and vegetarian options on the menu.

First I booked the table for six for the wrong date! The staff were able to accommodate us on the correct night with no issues. Second Food was AMAZING (as always)!!! Third The service though a tad slow at the beginning-once the food started arriving the service was much better. I recommend this restaurant all the time to anyone that will be travelling to or through Kingston. Dietary restrictions: We had a member of our group with a shrimp allergy- stay took extra care to be sure it was served on a different plate and the opposite end of the table. Parking: Easy to enter and exit

We have been dining here for 20 years. Our most recent visit was my wifes birthday. My son and his girlfriend joined us. Everything was perfect. Our waiter ( forgot his name, the guy from Nepal) was excellent. Very attentive. Everything timed perfect. Saganaki cheese, salads and mains were very good. Thank you for making it a memorable evening

Ordered takeout yesterday. The veggie kebab included a piece of pepper with the grocery store product sticker still attached. I assume this means the vegetables weren t rinsed prior to cooking and no one bothered removing the label prior to chopping and cooking. Also the order included roasted potatoes instead of the wedge fries I ordered. This restaurant used to be one of our favourites and conveniently close to home. I will probably not order from here again.
My wife and I ordered the combo #1 for a Valentine s Day lunch. We usually go for Greek Town or Minos but we decided to try this establishment for a change. The good: The Greek Salad was decent. The bad: We were quite shocked at how small the portion sizes were in comparison to Greek Town and Minos. There wasn t enough rice for the two of us, a few sliced potatoes (which had a sour taste to them), and the pork souvlaki tasted old, dry and bland. Definitely not fresh. Overall, we received very little food that was mediocre at best for $56. We were very disappointed with our experience.

I don t usually rate places when we have a bad meal but this was an utter disappointment.!!!! Over 100 dollars for the order. Cold rice. Blurb said feeds 1-3 people barely enough for 1. The traditional Greek salad was mostly tomatoes that were mostly white. They tried to hide it with half a container of some liquid sauce. Horrible. First and last time I ever order from here. Too bad. Shameful!

I love this place! Beautiful ambiance and great, authentic Greek food! It s a little pricier here than some similar restaurants but it s worth it for the delicious food. I love the Atlantic salmon. Remember to ask for a side of taziki with it as it doesn t come with it, and it s goes so with the roast potatoes! The ice cream for dessert is great as well. It s a ton of ice cream that is real French vanilla and you can tell. The strawberry and chocolate sauces are so good with it and the umbrella is so cute I kept it as a souvenir lol. The music, lighting and decor are so beautiful. I would definitely recommend!
Shaking off Christmas busy, by having a quiet dinner with my spouse. Their Lamb shank is to die for! Also the Chicken kabob.
Setting was very nice, however a big disappointment; went there for lunch, service was very slow(it took more than 30 min even though there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. The food was subpar, and the portions ridiculous considering the prices. Except for the grilled salmon dish which was the best, the rest was a joke: the dolmadakia (stuffed grape leaf rolls) were mainly rice , and they are service with rice an potatoes, the shrimp dish has 4 little(jumbo:) shrimp, and the calamari was the most expensive of all: it was 8 bites for $16(I actually had to ask what happened to the rest...lol)....wouldnt go back....I see a lot of good reviews, maybe from dinner service.......
First time back in nearly 16 years, and it was still good. Mixture of classic Greek and Greek-Canadian (or Greek-American?) dishes, all well executed. It was dinnertime, and busy, but the staff were accommodating with letting one of our party order a dish from the lunch menu. Even in the Kingston scene, which is full of great spots, this one is worth trying.
Love their calamari. Was glad they reintroduced it to the menu. But the distributor failed to deliver this week and they only had the heavier battered overly spiced calamari that their new distributor had to offer. I invited my friends to accompany me to the restaurant as they said they were back to the lite tampura calamari as before. My friends wanted to go too. So, made a reservation, and as always asked to save an appetizer sized calamari. They told me it was the heavy spiced stuff they only had tonight but assured me theyre going back to the original lite batter soon. This I had to figure out what I was going to get instead. I ordered a Greek salad and the butterflied shrimp.... It was good. Really wanted the calamari tho. As well they were out of saganati cheese we always order to share. I hinted that someone should run over to Loblaws and buy more......it didnt happen Parking: Awesome awesome
Atmosphere on point and the hostess went over and put us by the fireplace on one of the coldest days of the year. Food was great and service was as well. Will be back!

Went to enjoy a nice Greek meal tonight with another couple. A member of the party started by going to the washroom and witnessed a staff member go to the washroom and leave without washing their hands. Thats was enough for us. We left. Very disappointed

I love this place. I come here with my mum (dinner/lunch) when she visits & we are obsessed with their moussaka & avglemono soup. the service is great, welcoming, friendly, it feels like a family & the portions are so generous. Also the potatoes & greek salad so good. i cry. if i lived in walking distance id be here all the time lol. (ive also ordered on uber & it really hits the spot! )
This place is great. Food is fantastic. Service is top notch. They treat you like they really want your business and want you to come back. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. A special shout out to the crew working at 7pm to 8pm Saturday, May 18, 2019. The hostess. The waitress. The bussing crew and especially the kitchen. You guys hit it out of the park again.

Delicious food! Exactly what I was looking for. I used to order from Minos on Barrie, but since they closed, Ive been looking for a new place to get greek food. Ill definitely be ordering from here again!! Combination #1 and the wedge cut fries are delish. The containers the food comes in are all recyclable and can be used for storing leftovers. Amazing!
Its probably even a single star now, Im being generous because I remember how it used to be. NEW OWNERS have apparently decided to cut the portion size in half and charge 40% more. Everything was luke warm, re-heated. The Greek food in the mall is better quality and value.

Came here for lunch and was extremely disappointed. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. However, the food was terrible and they were out of half the items on the menu. I m unsure how potatoes can be cooked so terribly, and the rice and chicken were very bland. The portions were very small for what the cost was. Will definitely not be going back and recommend for people to go else where and not waste their money.
It is a good place, and the menu is well-priced. The food is not as expected, but the atmosphere is excellent. I recommend their tzatziki with bread. I also had Chicken souvlaki, but wasnt impressed how chicken was cooked.
I don t recommend the Chicken Cotoleta. I do recommend the Moussaka. I find the prices high.

Its ok, just not my kind of restaurant. Portions are generous and service is great. Interesting atmosphere with Greek themed decor. What I didnt like was that the vegetables, fish and fries appeared to be the frozen kind. Cesar salad was ok but basic. I am a food snob, so I prefer better quality over quantity. What a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Four adults ordered the Cyrus Meze and enjoyed the surprise of what was coming next. The greek salad and soup were very tasty. The dip platter had interesting dips and the grilled pita bread was excellent. Everyone really liked the Dolmadakia. The shrimp and the fried Kalamari was the best we have had. Interesting to try the mousaka and pastichio and the mousaka was voted the best. Next came the meats...wow. Never have had lamb which was a nice change. Chicken a little dry. Pork souvlaki amazing, The vegetables would have been better if they were fresh. Very nice to have a delicious meal which was served very quickly and hot. Portions were very large and we had leftovers to bring home. Will happily go again. Thanks so much.

Very disappointing. I dont know where the rest of my food went but the servings were SO small. Rice, veg and potato all over cooked and mushy. Calamari had good flavour but 100% not fresh and authentic. I got 8 small loonie size pieces. 8. Thats it. Salad was maybe 1/4 cup serving. Very small portions great maybe for a senior lunch? Paid over $30 - unfortunately with all the great restaurants here that can deliver more with fresher food and the same prices I will not be back..

First time here and it was amazing! Our server was fantastic, the food was incredibly delicious - we five had the lamb shank, lamb chops and shrimp, chicken coteleta, steak, and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. All excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful with the murals, the decor and the set up. Highly recommend this place if you havent tried it. We will definitely be back!
The service was great and so was the food. Some of the best calamari I have had, the village salad was shareable size. Moussaka and baklava were also excellent.

Had a lovely experience with friends. The staff were friendly, prompt, and very helpful. The food was delicious with generous meals and great sharable appetizers. I was extremely happy to find Greek food willing to serve a caesar salad.
Not impressed
We held a rehearsal party for our sons and future daughter in laws wedding. We worked with Sid for the planning. Everything exceeded my expectations. Value was good service was outstanding. Overall decent food but not memorable. The soup, salad and potatoes were the best part of the meal. The gyro was a strange, rubbery texture with very little taste, similar to eating a bad meat alternative.
Ordered take out. Combo b (4 pork and 4 chicken souvlaki, rice, potatoes, greek salad, tzatziki, buns) with dolmadakia. Potatoes were outstanding - lemony and tender and so good. Meat was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and tender. Salad was great. Tzatziki was garlicky and creamy and awesome. Dolmadakia were also great. We will keep coming back for more!

Been going here basically since they opened, but sadly never again. Their prices have increased absurdly over the past two years. The liver and onions now costs what a sirloin steak dinner cost in late 2019. Not paying fine dining prices for casual dining food.

Delicious food! Both my wife and I agreed this was the best Greek food we ve had locally. I enjoyed lamb chops and shrimp. The chicken souvlaki was done to perfection. Baclava was nice to end the meal.

Definitely mine and my hubbys favorite restaurant! Weve always gotten excellent service, we love the food and the atmosphere is amazing. My go to is the lamb shank dinner, the meat is so tender and melts off the bone! Always a pleasant experience coming here!
We had dinner here last night as first-timers to this place and we had an excellent experience. A great little gem. Portions were generous, our service from our server, John, was exceptional and the decor is lots of fun. I ll be returning for sure.

The portions are huge for a strip mall Greek restaurant. Very nice atmosphere. Large menu selection. Nice staff. Take out is very popular. Bonus: large bakery selection. Only grumble was my veggie kabob was undercooked but the Greek salad, rice and potatoes were very good.

Our first time here and record people who are residents of Kingston plus saw such positive reviews about the chicken souvlaki. Four of us try different entrees lamb chops. Pork and chicken souvlaki (just because it was so moist). Well so far I have not found anyplace that does the chicken right, cooked & moist. The lamb chops and beef souvlaki was not flavour well at all. The rice and potatoes were too dry, it just does not have the taste of the spices we were expecting from a Greek meal. The only good take away was the mural on their wall. This is a pass for me.

Literally our favourite restaurant. The food is always incredible and the service cannot be beat. The owner are just salt of the earth wonderful people and staff who are not in the family are treated as though they are. Highly recommend!

This used to be one of our favourite places to eat in Kingston. We have been dining here since it first opened. Unfortunately there have been recent changes and it is not what it used to be. It is now mediocre. Hopefully things will return to form, but my hopes are very low after the chat I had with the staff regarding the obvious changes. After the dinner we were served this past weekend we will not be returning again.
Very good food and service
Group of 13 people celebrating a birthday. Half of our table was served 25 minutes before the rest - most of party finished eating before rest of entrees were served. Full staff capacity and restaurant was not busy. Food was cold and underwhelming. Owners response was to offer 5% off of our total bill which was less than a cost of a fountain drink. Poor service and will not return. Edit: after speaking with the owner who initially had said the birthday meal was paid for and only the dessert had been removed from bill. Overall unsatisfied but did agree to remove one meal/dessert in addition to 5% off of bills. Server was lovely and very apologetic. Owner was quick to blame on kitchen staff which I felt was poor leadership on his part.

We had a wonderful dinner here on Feb. 13th, 2021 with 6 close friends. We love going here because the food and customer service are excellent. Plus, all of us were even more impressed because the waitress asked each of us very politely for some photo ID with our addresses to ensure that we were all from Kingston. We were all so relieved to know they did this as it all made us feel much more comfortable and safe to enjoy our meal. Thank you for doing this and thank you for a lovely dinner too!! Super impressed!!

We ordered the kalamari, gyro dinner, souvlaki dinner, salmon and kids pizza. All portions were very generous and delicious. We would definitely come back.

Two years since our last visit and I ve downgraded this from 5 stars to 1. We had reservations, but the hostess tried to dump us in a out of the way spot behind a row of booths stuck against the window. Not the best for an anniversary dinner. She eventually moved us into the rest of the restaurant. Waitress was rushed and not very attentive - like everything, blame it on covid, seems to be the catch-all for cutting on service or giving bad service. Food was blah, disappointing. Bloody cesear was weak/watered down. I was expecting a lot better based on our previous visit. Desert was a joke 9 items on the menu, 4 with stickers on top saying sold out!
The gyro was very delicious, ot dry at all! The potatoes they serve with ever meal are so good. Just wish they put more olives in the greek salad.
Beautiful place, nice waitress, presentation of food good. The pork on skewer was tough, but, the chicken was good the tazikki was very tangy same with the dressing in the Greek salad very tangy or too much. Mr.Chips in Napanee makes the perfect Greek Salad.
Although the food is good, I have given this restaurant 2 stars because of the response that I got from my waitress when I sat down. I asked if the music could be changed and twice I asked her to put her mask over her nose. She said that it was on her face and that if I didn t like the music and the way she wore her mask, I could leave. My request about the mask was in the week that Kingston has had their highest Covid cases to date.
The best food in kingston. My Husband and I love the atmosphere, the staff and the incredible food. Such a variety.

The food was full of greek flair. The pitas & gyros were very tasty. They had a wide variety of desserts and had a gluten free dessert option as well.

We will never eat there again. Watched people come in after us and get their meals eals and still no food. When we asked we were told kitchen was busy. Then why did their food come out? Four tables came in after us and we had reservations. They were all leaving when our food finally arrived. Fish was warm fries and vegetables cold. Worst birthday dinner ever.

Best Greek food in town
I first called to ask questions and the lady was very helpful. I called back to place a takeout order again she was very helpful. Now for the food. Amazing meal. The Mousaka was delicious. As was the rest of our meal. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be bak.
Ordered delivery. It was quick and the food arrived hot and delicious. My only critique would be that the moussaka was a bit undercooked. The eggplant was still a bit crunchy in places. Otherwise, every other part of the meal was great. The shrimp appetizer was a particular highlight. Would order again!
The lamb euro pita is the best thing that s ever been in my mouth. Every time I order it, I can t believe how delicious it is. And then there is the Greek salad. To die for. The best Greek food in town. Also, amazing staff. The gentleman who delivered my food tonight was the nicest delivery guy I ve ever had.

My favourite restaurant. We go on a regular basis and have not had a bad meal ever. Met people from Florida while in Greece last October and they came to visit us this summer and we took them there to reminisce of our trip to Greece. They thoroughly enjoyed it, as it reminded them of Greece. The owners are a beautiful Greek family that are always on hand to ensure you are enjoying your meal.
