Our waitress Faith was amazing. She truly made our 45th. anniversary a special night. Honestly, between her service, the champagne, the meal, and the dessert, we couldnt have asked for more. Me and my boyfriend celebrated our anniversary at The Keg in Kingston and Our server was Cassandra. We had a wonderful experience all the way through- food and drink was amazing and service was exceptional. Cassandra was lovely to talk to, incredibly quick and honestly one of the best servers I have ever had. Will most definitely be returning :)

The manager Richard is a 15/10!! Our large group of 18 came last minute after another reservation fell thru. Richard and the keg team accommodated us to the nines and we all had the most amazing time! He was so sweet and understanding and even offered our first round on the house to make up for our unfortunate start to our evening (with a different restaurant). Shout out to our server Alicia, she is a rockstar and we love her so much!! Our experience tonight was so amazing and we will now be booking every single birthday get to together at the keg

We were a party of eight with a reservation a week in advance I requested a professional server and was quickly shut down and told we would be taken care of.we were not our server nested up 3 meals and I observed a lot of empty glasses.my meal was served with yorkshire instead of golden brown it was grayish black way overdone should have gone in the garbage the bake potatoe was overcooked then served barely warm good way to make people sick.even though we arrived a half hr after opening the washroom was filthy and reeked of urine...so u have some issues.

The food was honestly quite amazing. I had a fillet minion and I truly loved it. My only concern is the time it took to receive the food It was just a little bit too long for my liking but honestly it was still worth it. Also, the price is a bit high compared to other places Ive been to with similar quality of food but I still liked it. Kid-friendliness: Please dont bring a kid that has an history of screaming inside restaurants.

Our server Artel went above and beyond. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Keg tonight because of him. Artel was awesome and super attentive to all his tables, despite it being a full house on a Saturday night.Food and drinks were great as usual, but service really stood out as exceptional. Haven t been to the Keg in a few years. We arrived and we re taken to our table immediately. The space hadn t changed at all and could use a refresh. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We ordered an Inniskillen Red wine and they brought us a small loaf of freshly baked bread with their whipped three cheese butter. It was really great. Followed that with the Gruyere mushroom dip with tortilla chips. It was also great! A good number of tortilla chips. Often with dips you need more of the dippers but not in this case! For our mains, we ordered sirloin steak Oscar. My wife had mashed potatoes and I had fries. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. I m not sure how the shrimp and scallops were prep d but grilling or pan searing them would have been better. Bernaise sauce was great, green beans were perfect, fries were good and the assorted grilled vegetables were great. There was some grizzle in my steak however, it was really tasty and consistent with Keg steaks I ve previously enjoyed. It was a lovely evening!

Tried to dine in ! 8 tables in the place and still waited over 10 minutes and didnt receive a drink , for 60 bucks for a steak dinner and zero service, no thank you !! Never again ! Pilot house it is and fantastic service here too

My wife and I attended the keg in Kingston for 34th wedding anniversary. We sat on the lounge side as reservations on the dining side of the restaurant for a full. A lounge side has a very cozy/ send me a warm atmosphere. The food was great, the wedge salad is a meal in and of itself. Our hostess Rachel was probably one of the best servers weve ever had. I noted that she was attending all tables professionally and attentively. It is a little pricey at The Keg but the food is always the best and because of the fantastic service we left a great tip.

2 large groups in at the same time we arrived and the service was excellent as was the food. Highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Keg, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was amazing inviting and vibrant, making it the perfect spot for a meal with friends. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome that set a positive tone for the evening. We decided to order the grilled salmon with garlic mash potato and it did not disappoint! The fish was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor; it was truly delicious. Perfect!

Lovely table overlooking City Hall Square and friendly service. The Duck Confit on the Fall menu however, was disappointing. Very chewy and stringy, not what was expected and the rich brandy sauce was more like a jelly than a sauce. The fresh pot of coffee promised was only warm at best. This was acknowledged by the waiter and happily returned with a hot mug of coffee. Overall a nice evening out but a disappointing entree. Thankfully it ended on a sweet note of Sticky Toffee Pudding which was a good rendition of the classic English dessert.

Had a fantastic meal here with my wonderful wife. Walked in off of the street and was seated within 10 minutes. The service was fantastic for our entire visit, enough so that we were almost convinced to move to kingston lol The atmosphere was a wonderful setting for a quiet intimate meal, and the kitchen certainly delivered. Lobster and steak make a wonderful pairing. Would highly recommend this facility to anyone, and we will return next time we are in town. Always good never disapoints

One of the worst keg experiences Ive had in my life. I was excited to show my wife and son The Keg experience which I have highlighted many times and boy did it fall flat. Im not sure if its this locations standards or the server. It felt like the server wanted to be anywhere but there and when they did come to our table they kept looking around the restaurant, almost as if I was inconveniencing them by being there. Multiple times things were forgotten. Telling a child you are bringing them crayons and snacks and then bringing nothing is unacceptable. Continually forgetting if I want a drink. Not asking my wife if she wanted a drink. Letting us sit for about 30-45 minutes unattended. I had to ask for my own dessert as it was not offered. Even my steak was undercooked but totally tolerable. Overall the service was below par to any keg experience Ive had. This was our first time at this location and it will be tough for me to want to visit this keg again.

We had a really nice meal in Kingston. The menu and quality of the food is so consistent between locations. There is no onsite parking here but there is a big lot a few meters away. We always order too much food when. We come. The Caesar Brussels Sprouts are so good and now a part of our regular order.

They reopened their covered patio for us after a major downpour so we could have dinner while out with our dog. We were the only table seated on the patio for the entire evening and our server checked on us regularly when another downpour descended on the area. The food was delicious and they delivered a slice of ice cream cake for our daughter s birthday. A hearty thank you to the Keg team.

Had a reservation for a larger group, we had to wait a bit as they were busy which wasnt a big deal, manager made sure to come see us apologized multiple times and provided some free apps for the table which wasnt necessary but certainly appericated. Food and service was great.

The keg is no longer a higher end dining experience. 2nd visit in 3 months. Early dinner at 4:45 bar side. Service is slipping hard or maybe they dont train people on how to serve anymore. 15 minutes to get a beer while the bartender talked to off work coworkers at the bar and no bread to fill in the time either. My Ceasar salad came out 5 minutes after my wifes crab cakes were served. Took another 5 minutes to flag someone down as my meal was incorrect and no one ever came to see how it was. To finish the guy brought the bread we were supposed to get at the beginning after we had finished our mains. Honestly everyone running is avoiding eye contact as much as humanly possible. Not having one main server is also weird unless it was the girl who took or order and payment, but otherwise a weird service.

Been disappointed the last two times. Recently ordered the sirloin with crab and lobster. Had like 4 pieces maybe of little pieces of seafood. Very little hollandaise. $54. I could do better at home. Our server was great but really disappointed in the quality of the meal.

We are writing this review to give a special shout out to the manager Richard. We arrived to celebrate a special dinner for our daughter, but unfortunately faced some challenges in the service. Richard came over and apologized profusely and then completely turned around our dining experience with attentive care and Above and beyond service and kindness. Dined with my daughter and wife at the Keg having pre-booked a table online. Process was easy. Free parking was available. Our server was Justin, an amazing and well informed gentleman. I had the blackened chicken with the garlic mashed potatoes. My wife had the 10 ounce Prime Rib (Medium) and daughter had the Keg Burger. Our compliments to the Chef! With pre-dinner drinks and lots of homemade warm bread and garlic butter there was no need to order an appetizer. I cannot wait to have another quaint meal with my favourite ladies at our local Keg.

The food is always good at the Keg. Ive been to this location several times, and theyre consistently on the mark and worth the price. What truly stands out is the service. We sat in Romeos section, and he was friendly, witty and on top of everything. Ill always, gladly eat at the Keg

My wife and I got food poisoning, may have been the shellfish (lobster and scallops). Servers were kind but the food did take longer than expected. My steak was overcooked.

Have been to this location about 5 times. The food is consistently excellent however she service also consistently lacks. We always have a reservation and we always wait for 10 minutes in the lobby to be seated. Additionally, it seems that every step through the dining experience just takes so long. From getting the drinks, to the food coming out, to the plates getting cleared and desert being brought out and getting the bill afterwards. To go have a similar experience at another restaurant seems to take about 45 minutes less from start to finish. Im not concerned about the time spent at the establishment but the amount of time waiting for the next step is excessive. Im beginning to think I may go elsewhere for a steak dinner.

This was our first dining experience at The Keg at 300 King Street East, Kingston. We were celebrating a later dinner for my husbands birthday, being seated in the bar section at the back corner. We waited almost 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. Our server (employee #74) was happy in taking our entire order and told us that our choice of New Zealand Stoneleigh Sauvignon Wine was not available due to difficulties getting this wine. She suggested a comparable white wine also from New Zealand, having us taste test the wine first. After her leaving the bottle at our table, we read the label and it was from France. The food / kitchen servers were true Keg excellence with our escargot app and favourite Keg burger. Asked our server for extra fries, but it didnt happen. We even had to ask another server for glasses of water. We didnt see our server again in the bar section or at our table until she dropped off the bill and birthday dessert to go. Another 10 minute wait and no-show at our table to pay by credit card, we ended up going to the bar to try to pay there instead. The bar keeper was unable to process it and had to get our server to come to the bar to complete our transaction. Unfortunately a disappointing server experience at this Keg, especially for a birthday celebration.

I visited the Keg Jan 2024 with a group of 7 to celebrate a birthday. My experience was 3/5, mediocre at best. Below I will detail why I gave this rating. In short, my experience did not equal a fine dining experience nor the price of the meal ($150 for 2 keg classic dinners including tip). I don t plan to return due to the price being overly inflated and not equal to the quality of food/ experience. As well, I will not be returning based on my experience with the bathroom. Service The service was excellent and honestly what saved this review. Our server was attentive and proactive, she even offered to take our photo for the special evening. One person at our table had an allergy and all staff ensured food safety and took it very seriously. Food The food was mediocre. I ordered the Keg Classic Filet Mignon. My steak was over cooked and a little dry/tough. Others at the table experienced the same with their cuts. My dinner was meant to feature mushrooms and my choice of accompaniment. I received 5 tiny cremini mushrooms, beets and broccoli. This was not what I was expecting, nor what was detailed on the menu. I was disappointed with such few mushrooms, considering this was meant to be the featured side to compliment the meat. I do not feel like this meal was worth the $57ish (before tax and tip) which it was listed for on the menu. Keep in mind my meal total came to $75 with tip, no drinks. Additionally, the kitchen staff apparently did not take proper precautions in preparing an order for someone in my group with an allergy, but it was luckily caught by the kitchen manager before being served at the table. Again, the staff were fantastic and this slip up was handled very well by both wait staff and managers. Restaurant & Atmosphere This restaurant is crowded and loud. For that reason, it does not lend to a fine dining experience or atmosphere. It seems like they are more focused on serving quantity (more customers) to then reap a higher profit than they are concerned with a quality dining experience. It is also incredibly difficult to find parking at this location. Bathrooms Bathrooms are awful. They are in desperate need of renovations and regular maintenance (ie soap refills), at the very least the pipes need to be fixed so that water doesn t leak out when the toilet is flushed. There was only 1 soap bottle split between 2-3 sinks, and it was filled with watered down soap that didn t even lather. Absolutely disgusting. I interpret this to mean that every person (including staff) who used this bathroom was unable to properly wash their hands, and therefore dragged bacteria and germs into the dining area. For a fine dining restaurant like the Keg, I would ve expected quality soap for each sink. As they say, the bathroom is a reflection of the state of the kitchen. I will not be dining here again.

Hello, On February 1st, 2024, I placed a pick up order (45680049) for 8:00pm. I arrived at 7:55pm and was told to wait in the seating area. At approximately 8:15 a female manager brought my order and apologized for the wait. I drove 4-5 minutes to the Marriott Residence INN. When I opened my bag I noticed my appetizer was missing and I received bread, which I checked off no. The steak was also not warm but cold. The manager was notified and I gave my email for a gift card, no email was ever received. Please ask your management to quality check the meal and items ordered. Also a quick follow up to check in about the gift card and to give some feedback could have mitigated the issue. For the approximate $60 for takeout, I experienced shortcomings at every stage of the takeout process, leading to a less-than-satisfactory experience.

My family and I go to the keg on a regular basis either Peterborough or Oshawa. Tonight, Valentine s Day was the first time trying the Kingston location. Right off the bat the restaurant was very cold, I had to put my coat again for the whole experience. My 3 year daughter dropped her crayon underneath the table and when she went down to get it came back up with a broken piece of a wine glass, my husband took it to the manager and he said sorry we re very thorough with our cleanliness and walked away. My children s food came out and we waited another 25 mins for our meals and when we got them our mashed potatoes had a stiff, firm coating on top from sitting underneath a heat lamp for to long. The overall experience was subpar to Peterborough and Oshawa and for the amount of money you spend on a family of four, subpar was very disappointing.

Staff was friendly and attentive, food was amazing as always.

Wife loves the fish, i had the rib steak, ate it all and never needed my knife. Cut tender with a fork it was yummy. I wish they had family style au gratin potatoes as a shareable. As the twice baked was not as good as in the past, but loved everything else! Thanks again and see ya next yr Food

We were a group of 12, with reservations for 4:30. A few of us arrived early and sat in the bar watching the game. Our table was ready at 4:30 sharp. The service, food, and atmosphere is TOP NOTCH. Our food once served to our table (group of 12 remember) came almost at the same time. The kitchen and service staff are very organized.

We were able to enjoy a birthday dinner last night at the Kingston location. It was the usual top notch meal with excellent service. Faith was our server and we will be asking for her on our return visits. I would highly recommend any opportunity you might have to enjoy their steak and seafood centred menu. By the way, using Open Table to make our reservations was quick and convenient. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Just speak to your server. Dietary restrictions: Very responsive to any limitations. Parking: Located directly behind restaurant. Be careful. The street west of restaurant is one way- the wrong way. With GPS we were able to make our way in.

Went with our kids for the first time and they treated the boys amazing. Was quite surprised seeing how the Keg is seen mostly as an upper level adult restaurant.

The Keg Steakhouse in Kingston is one of the best places in have had dinner ,Fabulous food, Service and Atmosphere,,Staff there are always friendly and professional, I would recommend this location to anyone celebrating anything

Weve been to this location probably 40 or 50 times and its amazing how far theyve fallen from what it used to be. Service was poor, we were without drink refills a good chunk of the meal, never did get salt and pepper that were asked for when the meal came, and had to go to the bar and request a bill when it was time to leave. Food was slow and generally pretty forgettable, mostly dry and flavourless. Theyve cheapened things a lot too, steak dinner that used to come with peppers and beans is now beets and broccoli, I guess they saved a buck but I expect better for a $58 menu item (or make it $59). Wouldnt rush back.

It was extremely loud with lots of toddlers crying and running around. The vegetable was 2 slices of beets. There was no baked potato option either. Waiter was fantastic and was really the best part of the evening.

Great food, great service, terrible seats

We went here for our anniversary and it was honestly an amazing experience. The waitress, Faith, was great and very friendly. It was our first time here and she helped us a lot with picking the best meal for us. The food was super tasty and filling. It made the perfect anniversary meal.

Its not as good as it used to be. Steak (7 oz filet) was excellent but the baked garlic shrimp appy had way too much oil, very little cheese & the shrimps were miniscule. Side orders (daily veggies & twice baked potato) were cold. Waitress & manager were very responsive & apologetic & adjusted our bill accordingly.

Food was amazing and service made the experience extremely enjoyable.

Ive been to several Kegs across Ontario and the food is usually prepared very well. Kingston is no exception. We had a great server, food was timed perfectly, & the atmosphere of this particular location is more unique inside and right in the heart of downtown Kingston.

Apps and drinks on Friday night. Service was excellent, apps were really disappointing: calamari and mac and cheese were very very bland, after first couple bites that was enough. So, next time will stick with Prime rib.

Loved the Blackened Chicken, it was sumptuous

We went on a Suturday night with no reservation, not sure if we would even get a table. There was a spot open at the bar and they offered to seat us there for our meal, or we could wait an hour and a half for a table. We decided to take a chance and sit at the bar, even though we dont drink. The bartender looked after us really well. She was great! The food was amazing. We couldnt have had a better experience.

Food is always great at the keg. What made this meal over the top was the service. Our server, Cole, was the best. Natural conversation, always there, but never interrupting us, and he went over the top helping with a dairy allergy and with some great alternatives and recommendations! The restaurant is large but has a very cozy feel. If you havent tried it, you should!
