Simply one of the best spots in Kingston to unwind and have a nice steak. The rib eye doesnt come cheap, nor should it. Consistently grilled to perfection, very flavourful. Special shout out to Michelle who delivers genuine and attentive service - thank you.

Food, service and atmosphere are great but prices are out of control. Lunch items (sandwiches, burgers etc.. are 20% to 30% higher than comparable restaurants in Kingston.

My wife and I happened upon Toms Place while looking for a nice lunch spot to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary. We saw they served escargot and bruscchetta and we were not disappointed, and they had a good selection of wine and beer, though the beer taps were not functioning at that time. We loved the decor, seating arrangements and overall atmosphere. We will certainly look this place up again the next time we come to town. And thanks to Kate for such wonderful service, she was a princess.

Our absolute fav place to eat, drink and relax after a long work day. Amazing atmosphere, cozy and romantic.

We have been going to Toms place for a few years now and found the nachos to be our favorite snack. This past Monday, we went there again for my wifes birthday to enjoy our nachos. Big surprise! First, it went up from $23.95 to $33.95 and the included guacamole wasnt included anymore, it was $4.95 extra now. To top this up, the cheese on the nachos was less than one quarter of what it used to be. It was the worst nachos that we have ever had. Awful nachos and awful prices. Never going back.

The food is good and the service excellent. The place is a bit dark specially during the day but that is what they are going for with the Canadiana decoration.

We celebrated our Mom s birthday at Tom s Place last night. We had top notch service. Joanne never missed a beat! Food was excellent! Drinks were flowing! Candles on the birthday cake, fabulous birthday song! Great ambiance, lovely fireplace! Great patrons! We had the pleasure of meeting Dave & Janet! They made our birthday party one that we will never forget. Mind blowing! Forever grateful! Paying it forward! Staff are always smiling! Family stayed at the Best Western. They loved their room, especially the fireplace there too! Lots of parking for everyone. No wonder it is our Mom s favourite spot! Thank you!

Rainy day gals date. KATE made our lunch date superb. Fire was warm and ambiance was awesome. Food, and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend going to see Kate at Tom s Place. You will not be disappointed (fire is a real wood fire) not electric or propane. Soooo nice on a damp cool Winter day

We had a wonderful dinner at Toms Place (while staying at the Best Western Fireside Inn in Kingston). We had a cozy table by the fire - the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. My friend said the wings were awesome and the fries were delicious. My fish was great as was the accompanying Caesar salad. All in all, a fantastic, casual dining experience! Would definitely come again...

Great food, great staff, awesome environment. The real wood fire, taxidermy, and decor make this place feel like the most relaxing cottage getaway.

This is a lovely cozy spot especially during winter with the fireplace crackling. Its like being at a lodge with its unique decor. Food was great and service was good, despite a small mix-up with the bill, which was quickly resolved by our attentive server.

Our first visit to Toms Place. What a fantastic experience from the comfy arm chairs, the wood fire, great cocktails and perfect service. We had the French Onion soup and shared the personal sized nachos. Sooooo much food but so good! Sydney, our server was excellent. Knowledgeable about the menu, professional in giving suggestions and recommendations, and friendly. Even though we could see that she had a few other tables we never felt neglected. Well definitely be back to try out those fireside couches.

Delicious Swiss cheese fondue and Homemade liver with onion rings. Warm fireplace gives a cozy home feel, the staffs are friendly.

This is a nice and comfortable spot to socialize with a group, or have a quieter evening out. The decor is Canadiana, some animal hides, and taxadermy busts of deer, badgers, etc. so it may not appeal to everyone, but I think it is neat for people who havent seen those animals up close. There are comfortable lounge armchairs at some of the tables. My only negative was that the portion sizes of desserts were a bit slim for their pricing (in comparison to other similar local venues). The service from the employees is attentive and very pleasant, I am a repeat customer! Parking: This is located in a hotel, so parking may not always be easily accessible depending on events/ guests, but they have parking on both sides of the restaurant, and quite a bit of it.

My wife and I have been regulars here for a few years. We always receive great food & service (Hunter, Diane, and Matt are wonderful). Tonight we were served by a new staff member, Ashley, and were completely wowed by her gentle but engaging personality. She followed all the steps of service to a T, was genuinely interested in learning about us & our guests, and even spoke French to my mother in law (whose first language is French). Totally impressed! Of course we will be back.

My family visited Tom s Place on February 8th around 1pm for lunch. It was our first meal out as a family since the beginning of the pandemic and we had an absolutely wonderful experience thanks to our server Diane. She was very accommodating and patient with my parents who like to joke around with servers haha! Thank you Diane for making our experience wonderful with your lovey disposition! We will definitely be back and hope you will be our server again.

Great place, Joanne was very nice and friendly. Very accommodating to our party. Sadly no handicap washroom. I had to leave my mobility aid outside the rather small broom closet that was a washroom to be able to use it. Very sad on that part.

The place is definitely not what you d expect. A little run down but homey. However the food was a pleasant surprise. It was one of the best plates of liver with onions and bacon that I ve ever eaten and the dessert was to die for. Service excellent. What can I say other than ..thank you for such a good dinner.

Nice hunting cabin ambience. You should not go if offended by taxidermed wild animals. Liver & onions, Montreal smoked meat sandwich, hamburger quickly disappeared. Friendly, efficient staff. Hit the spot on a dull, rainy night. Why drive?

Excellent food, great service. Had the liver and onions (which I dont always find these days). It was cooked perfectly.

Again, very rare i give 5 stars but Toms place deserves it. Hard to describe this place but its very cozy unlike any place you will have been in. All arm chairs, booths with a roaring fire place, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices and good food. If i might recommend a good red wine, its this one attached JP Chenet. I had a glass. Its smooth as butter. Ask staff for it as I dont think its on the menu yet but the waitress we had recommended it and said it was new. Its exceptional.

Ordered an appetizer (bruschetta), and for the main I had the fish & chips. Both were incredible! I would absolutely return. I should have ordered the two piece fish because I was left wanting more! Service was good too. The atmosphere is cozy and feels nostalgic. Not many places left that look and feel this way, and it was very refreshing.

Love this place. Food was good. My wife and I had a great meal. The room was a bit hot for me cause of the fireplace but she found it very cozy. Love the seats. Really nice place to eat. Really great decor very very rustic. More urbanized types may not like the stuffed heads but I think this type of atmosphere still appeals.

This is a gem. On my trip from Toronto to Montreal, we decided to have a dinner stop at Kingston. This place deserves the high rating. Its a chalet style bar, very comfy and unique ambience. I was there with my wife and 2 kids. At first, I was worried that it wouldnt be kids friendly. Then the kids menu appears :) my older son, 8 year old keeps telling me to go back. The good was great, the portion was too big, but I cant lower the stars for that. The stop is also very close to highway, making it a perfect stop on our long trip.

Love this spot, my husband and I go here often...so cozy!! The menu is great, drinks delicious and the service is fantastic. The only CON about Toms place is that the restrooms for the ladies(not sure about the gents) is in behind the bar..not the most convenient, especially when you have a stroller..and there is no baby change pad in the ladies room either. Overall- we give this restaurant a 4star.

Visited this restaurant twice. It has a very homey atmosphere with antiques, stuffed birds and animals on the log-walls. It has plenty of parking either on site or at a nearby shopping area. The washrooms are clean. Service was great and attentive. We had several dishes, fish and chips, half dip, chicken vegetable wrap, smoked meat. In all cases the food suffered from lack of heat. The meals come from somewhere unseen and it might be too far to assure its hot. The food is reasonably priced, but I found the coleslaw seemed off and their fish sauce lacked zip. The cheese cake was small for the price. In all, a great place to go for a meal, especially for the atmosphere which includes real fireplaces.

Last 2 times not really a good experience. I ordered a burger and fries, the fries were cold and the waitress never showed up again on the other side of the restaurant to tell her. 2 days ago I was in, ordered just a burger, no sides cause I wasnt hungry and they still charged 16+ tax. I thought that was kinda a rip off. Cause other restaurants charge almost half the price if you dont get everything in your plate. And I think almost 20 bucks for a plain Jane burger is too much. Wont be going there again probably.
