Roomy, casual spot with an open kitchen & patio for steaks & other Canadian meals from local farms.
We arrived at 7:15pm and ordered at 7:30pm. The drinks didn’t come until 45mins later (one was a sprite) and the ice in both drinks had melted a bit, meaning our waiter had forgotten about them. 1hr 10mins later, we finally got our food. My dish came with sour cream and cheese, which I specifically asked to be taken out. For the duration, he only came to our table once to fill our waters and ask if one of us wanted a refill on our drink, but never apologized or gave us an update until we asked. Then afterwards he blamed it on the kitchen as it was a busy night, meanwhile a table whose order he took after ours got their drinks and food in a timely manner and paid and left about 20mins before we got our food. Our waiters name is Austin, and he ignored/avoided us the whole night other than the water fill and to serve us. We did get 15% off but only after requesting we do.
The food was amazing, our waitress so energetic. I recommend the place!
Food was just okay They tried but missed the mark. It was busy but the prime rib was cool, the chicken on the chicken caesar was slightly burned and dry. The almond encrusted shrimp had the flavour but were over done. The roasted cauliflower was the hottest item and was done well. With some attention to detail and perhaps some more care they could have hit the mark. Value for what you are getting if cooked right is great. So at least there is that. They tried to make up for it by offering the pops for 4 for free. Not the best example of customer service, but they did try. Service and ambiance were fine.
Decent dining experience. However, some of the food could improve. Steak and avocado salad advertised cheddar cheese, and none was served. The other spinach salad also lacks ingredients, perhaps cheese, but overall lacking in salad satisfaction. Shrimps a little overdone but steaks all on point. The house potato salad is odd flavoring, and our group said not great. The Canadian style pasta was the evening winner as well as pull-apart garlic bread. The garlic feta pita appetizer was a little overboard on garlic, so we didn't finish this dish. Needs some overall service and dining improvements for me to recommend or return.
Nice place, clean, they had some low-key dinner music, which you could talk over which was nice. Food was good, NOT GREAT, BUT GOOD. a little pricey for what you get. However, I would recommend it.
We came here before a concert at the Grand nearby. Our server (I think her name was Cassie? Chelsea? So sorry I forget!!) was amazing. Efficient and knew what she was doing. Great service. We had chicken wings that were meh and only 8 and only 2 sauces /flavors to choose from. Would only give them a 4/10. Forgot to take pics. Our friends however had the Caprese sandwich and Marguerita pizza in the images. They reported they were really good. I nibbled a few fries and they were delicious! We shot a few games of pool after dinner. It was a great casual location and would definitely recommend, just maybe not the wings 😉
First time eating here while attending a tournament and visiting with relatives in Kingston. Parking available on street and a nearby paid parking lot. Street parking is free after 5:30pm, but only $1.50/hr before that. Food was very good, especially the prime rib. I would also recommend the "Carvery For One," if you are hungry like a bear. Sarah provided great service and the ambience upstairs by the fire was perfect. I would definitely eat here again, and maybe stay longer to play pool by the upstairs bar after dinner.
Very very good, cool atmosphere our server was great. I had the chicken Parmesan it was cooked perfectly the spaghetti was even good, my wife had the gnocchi she loved it, my daughter had the steak and fries perfectly cooked and fries were so good too, will definitely be going back.
Food was great at a fair price. Been a long time since I was there and look forward to going back.
Had went later in the night with friends and had been asked to leave as I looked too tired. Very disappointed and will not be be attending again .
Food was delicious, the service was amazing. Definitely want to come back.
Pricier item on the menu, I ordered surf and turf. Only Two pieces of shrimp just does not cut it. Dont be cheap Be generous for that price you are charging.
Went for drinks, a quick bite and to play pool before the Queens Mens basketball game. Marco and the Bartender (sorry, I didnt get her name) were lovely and the tables were really nice to play on.
Good food and friendly service, although it took a while for our food to come out.
Wait time was long even tho the place wasnt packed, all 4 dishes came out cold. First an last time dining here.
The food was average Prime rib was cool and dry.Prices were not bad with the exception of the seasonal vegetables(plural) it was 1 corn on the cob, actually, 1 half of a cob which they charged $5.00 who serves corn on the cob at a restaurant as a vegetable anyways(weird)??
Awesome staff, also a shoutout to Sydney and Sasha for putting up with our buffoonery! Vegetarian options: There are decent amount of good vegetarian options.
Vibrant crowd
Had a really good time food was good and drinks were great friendly staff
Horrible service, Staff was super rude at night, I understand they have to deal with drunk people but I was super nice and calm. My friends and I went out for drinks and was having fun at the pool table until we went outside for smoke and come back and they closed the check on us and Pre-Tip themselves. I do not appreciate that. I always tip even if the service is bad. Worst experience ever.
Really cool bar, pool was a little pricey however at $20 per hour.
Tasty food and good service Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free options available Food : 4/5 |
We got the carvery board for 2. The Ribs were so dry I couldnt eat them, the chicken was bloody when we got to the middle. Mentioned it to the server, who was lovely, she told us that it happens when chicken cooked with bone in. Expensive food and nothing was done about the issues we had. We dont plan on going again.
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
Great spot with excellent service, food is pretty mid but the burgers are great.
Loved it
Get ready for this novel, the manager of this location should be ashamed. She made her young waitresses take the brunt of her bad management. For context we reserved a very large service as we were here for the Gaels cup soccer tournament. We brought 50 people. We have done this at so many tournaments over the years and had great experiences with no issues. The first red flag was being sent an email a week before giving us a very limited menu we had to order from in advance. Although, we were hoping that this would make the ordering/prep process easier so this made sense to us. However, it made it more difficult. The staff aka the two kind young girls assigned to serve 50 people still didn t have it correct when we arrived and were scrambling to figure out who ordered what with no help from the manager who coordinated the reservation. We ended up having to go to the bar to pay/order drinks after 30 minutes of waiting and no one ever ended up taking a drink order for us in the end (which they said made things difficult for them after the fact?) They were not busy by the way! At the most 8 other tables with three people each most of which already had been served. Food arrived and took a good 20 minutes for them to figure out who s item belonged to who. Portions were extremely small and everyone s food was burnt in some shape or another. The side salad or fries we were allowed to choose were at the most a scoop. Every item we were given to choose from was $20. Now the worst part, we asked in advance if we could bring two cakes to celebrate one of our players birthdays as again the limited menu they gave us had no desserts on it. They agreed to this and put the small cakes in their kitchen fridge to keep them cool while we ate. we had finished our dinner, (which after serving no one came to check to make sure everything was good at any point) we had to clean up our own plates after no one came around to do so after everyone finished as we were preparing for the cakes we brought. They brought the cakes up for us and brought small plates and utensils to use. Our teams moms cut the cakes and served each player. A parent had gone down to get her bill after no one had come up in a while and the waitress told her she needed to pay a $10 cake cutting fee . When the waitress was told we cut and served the cakes we brought ourselves it changed into a fee for bringing the plates up and putting the cakes in their fridge. I am not joking . Our parents/team who had just spent over $1000+ on food and wine bottles and brought in tons of business on a empty Saturday night were reasonably very angry. However the worst part of all this is that after our parents spoke to them how inappropriate and scummy it was, the manager who was hiding and making her young staff control the chaos made fun of us while we were all standing their waiting to pay. She never apologized or tried to help her staff she just rolled her eyes and stayed silent. This place is not worth it for so many reasons. I don t think I ve ever had a worse experience anywhere in my life. And we still ended up having to pay the cake cutting fee as they told us we had to. One of their bouncers was waiting outside and holding the door open for our group of mainly 12 year old girls to leave! Manager and her waitresses followed our group down the stairs as we walked out. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
Do you enjoy small portions and over cooked/burnt food? Then this is the place for you. I felt bad for the two young servers who were tasked with serving a group of close to 50 people as they did their best despite the lack of support from their manager. Had to get our own drinks as we waited close to 30min with no drink service other than water. When the food arrived the portions were small, and the food was either over cooked and dry, or in my case with the burger, it was burnt. Plenty of decent restaurants in the area so avoid this place at all costs.
Food was very good
Slow service, although if I recall there might have been a big group. But we couldnt see them. And food was decent
Worst service. Also stolenfrom our table.
Food quality was poor. Steaks were cold and over cooked. Veggies cold with no flavor. Prime rib over cooked and cold. Pasta luke warm. With a larger group(10 people) service was not great. Waited quite a while for service to start (it was not busy we were the only table seated upstairs) when they came to take our order for drinks she left after only taking half the table. Overall service was very slow. Definitely not a customer service driven establishment. Even after when speaking with a manager, they did not really seem it care. Very disappointed. Over priced poor quality poor service. If you want good food and service go to The Keg! Only thing good is bear carvings. Maybe. Kid-friendliness: After the poor experience. We had paid and were leaving the table and a bouncer came upstairs and told us we had to leave because it was 10pm. We were already leaving. This was unnecessary.
Absolute garbage!!! Do not recommend.
Amazing food, amazing service
Taste 8/10; Service 9/10; Portion with the price 6.5/10; The vibe 10/10 Prefect for the chill vibe of restaurant & bar. Better if you like playing pool and also have variety of alcohol choices(if you ask the bartender)
Great food, atmosphere and service.
Had dinner here Tuesday night with my family after graduation and had a great time! The steak and avocado salad was beautiful and delicious, and our server, Aleda, was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
This is a really great place for a night out. The drinks are great, the food is always good, and the staff are very friendly. There is a downstairs dance floor that is always empty but a great spot to bring your friends and have an excellent night dancing with just your closest friends!
I come here all the time to play pool. It s my absolute fav low key hang out. Came in for food a little while ago. Dan makes the best steak and avo salad, hands down!!
First time. Hubby enjoyed his pizza, I had a bbq ranch burger. 2 other meals were bbq ribs and beef dip. They enjoyed the beet salad. Sat upstairs where the pool tables are. The hockey game was on TV. Dining on main floor. Good place for a bite. Not fancy.
The food was pre-cooked, cold, and tasteless. Overly expensive because of their a la carte nonsense. I will not be going back to this restaurant and I do not recommend it.
Large group handled marvelously. Great food and atmosphere.
Went in for a pint and snack hostess told us to go upstairs take a seat no service finally stopped someone he asked who sat us we told him watched him talk to person at door then still didnt serve us so we left up the street ate and had a beer at the Buckle much nicer service for sure and had a great night
Vegetarian options: I had the butternut squash ravioli. The dish was delicious. Food
Expensive place to eat. Windows dont open ..was super stuffy. Wait staff only returned 1x to the table, my husband could have had 2ns beer if it was an option, sat for most of his meal drink less. Not super inviting. Meals were ok, expensive for quality of food.
Testy food. Perfect service. Cute place.
Food was amazing our server was not attentative at all. We think she was new. Not a busy night I had to go find her to get her to come over and get second drinks. Never filled water glasses again had to ask her to clear the finished appetizer dish and glasses. Luckily the food was awesome.
Very slow service, friends and I had an event to attend nearby and had to leave before even getting our food. For reference we got there 2 hours before the start of event.
Bouncers were so mean to me and my Friends. Got banned from the bar for no reason. Didn t even show human decency just started cussing us out. Get new bouncers. Service
Good food, got kicked out tho because I was too drunk - I didn t drink anything, I was having back pains and taking a bit longer to get up the stairs. Very ridiculous.
Went with lots of friends and ordered a few dishes to share. Everybody was able to eat and feel more than satisfied. Food and drinks were great, especially the spinach dip!! We had the pool tables for ourselves and the bar was just around the corner. Servers were mainly nice and helpful but sometimes they would disappear. Clean washrooms. Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free dishes
Cool atmosphere, but horrible service. My boyfriend waited at the bar for almost 15 min to ask to pay for the pool balls, a bartender finally comes up and asks what he wants he says pool balls she walks away from him and gives them to a guy 5 min later that asked for them after. They need a better system for the pool tables because after that we left we were so annoyed.
People beside us asked for a our pool table when we were done. We abliged and brought to balls back with them to do the exchange. The bartender said there was another group waiting longer and gave it to them even though there is a no hold/wait list. The bartender explained she had been there 3 years and can do whatever she wanted. Unfortunately the other patrons left. After overhearing the exchange I left zero tip. Extremely unfair and management should engage in proper customer service practices. The bartender was very rude in general.
Well Griz, not so good tonight. Valentines meal out and perhaps I should have ordered the special. I ordered the half rack of ribs with the side mac and cheese and cole slaw. The slaw was dry as could be like they wrung all the liquid out of it. The ribs were overcooked and dry, burnt and the sauce was not very tasty. The mac and cheese has zero flavour. No seasoning whatsoever. My wifes meal was good. She had the Canadian pasta. Normally I like the Griz but tonight was not on point.
Good vibes.
Havent been to The Griz in a good decade,. Ate there last night with a group of friends. The steak was excellent and so was the service!
Very nice place and freindly door service
My friends and I came here for dinner Saturday evening and were disappointed with the service and the food. We had the cauliflower appetizer (which was pretty good), two salads (which were decent, though the mushrooms on one of them tasted like they d been cooked in pure balsamic vinegar), and the margarita pizza, which was pretty bad. The sauce was extremely bitter and really needed salt. And the dough just tasted like flour. For a restaurant that has a nice pizza oven, I m surprised at how bad their pizza was. And I m not sure if our server was just having an off night but he didn t really seem to care that we were in his section. After getting us our first round of drinks and taking our food order, he didn t check back in with us until we had finished our food. When he dropped our food off we tried to order another round but he left before we could ask. And then we were hoping he d two-bite us so we could ask for some salt and more drinks but he was chatting with the other servers and never made eye contact. We even tried to wave him over but he completely ignored us. I d understand if he was busy but he really wasn t. He had probably 3 or 4 other tables and spent most of his time chatting with his coworkers or disappearing into the back. Overall the experience wasn t great, and I really hope the service and food quality improve. This is a great local establishment that I remember being a really nice place to go for dinner.
The food was a bit pricy for what you get. But the vibe was pretty good.
AMAZING !! We had the garlic pull apart bread (melt in your mouth) Mussels, I had the blackened potato salad with chicken, and Geoff had pizza- All fantastic Food
We waited over 90 minutes for our food, and then it was not even warm or delicious. Either give me long wait times or cold boring food, but dont give me both.
A+++ experience with Alyssa (manager) regarding a birthday
An excellent New Year s Eve meal. Excellent, attentive service by our server, Emily. The manager was bussing tables, real team work. Definitely going again!!!
An amazing atmosphere. Food was great. Tried the feta dip appetizer on a whim... it was delicious. Food : 5/5
I go for free pool on Mondays. Great atmosphere and fun vibe. Pop is free but beers and mixed drinks are a little pricy. The tables and cues are not in great shape. Some have dead rails and bad lighting no tips ect.
Fantastic experience. Friendly staff and amazing food. Will be back!
Id forgotten how great the Grizzly is! First off, we had the garlic bread and OMG was it good. Just drenched in garlic butter and parmesan. As a pizza guy, I almost always order pizza when its on the menu, so went with the Olive & Artichoke Heart. Very good. There was 6 in our party and everyone was pleased with their meal from pasta, to chicken to steak. Service was a bit slow, but most people were doing valentines dinners so they were slammed. We told our waiter what time we needed to be done by to make a show at the Grand down the street, and he met the deadline, so all is good! Sorry, I forgot to take pics!
Fabulous and Excellent Prime Rib.
Very nice place except for the food.
Nothing wrong with this place. Carvery board is delightful and low cal?!(nope) taste amazing tho. Played some pool, seemed a pretty good.
We ordered the mussels, which were awesome. Then decided to share the carvery board for 2. Worst decision ever! The prime rib was so fatty you could barely see meat, the ribs were deep fried with no sauce, half a sausage and a chicken leg. I do NOT eat red meat or brown meat, so least to say I ate French fries and Cole slaw. Was not impressed with the food or service at all. Will NEVER fo back!!!
Went there and waited an hour for my drink which was in a can so not hard to get, i understand busy but an hour is alot and then same with food and everything not the best place to go in kingston
Food was good but expensive
Went out for my mother-in-laws birthday and we throughly enjoyed the food and the service. Our party tried the steak, salmon and ribs and all were very tasty! Server was polite and attentive!
Good service overall but steak was disappointing in the quality and the size. Asked for medium Rare but came medium. I wish I went to The Keg instead.
Great experience overall. The beet salad was really delicious (really, arugula, you have no business being that yummy). Chicken sandwich was delicious, and the team was very gracious about substitutions. Looking forward to our next visit.
The food was great Ive never had such a delicious meal. I got the prime rib cub cut steak, it was cooked perfectly and sliced like butter. It even melted in your mouth like butter. Service was a little slow but when we did get served and got our meals it was well worth the wait. It was st Pattys day when we went so it definitely was noisy.
The refrigerator was out of service and they couldnt serve beer, hard to give a fair review under the circumstances.
Great bar with lots of space, well decorated, and maintained. Has many pool tables that are rented out at 20$ per hour. Drink options is sizeable, prices are acceptable, and staff are kind. Ive been a few times and love sitting by the fire upstairs and enjoying the music and a few drinks with friends.
Waited over two hours for are food, wasn t close to being done they kept saying the kitchen was backed up after the two hour wait for food even with making a reservation we gave up and left they still charged us for the drinks we had well waiting for are dinner even though the dinner never came. Most disappointing place to take your family when visiting Kingston use to be nice now it s turned in to a place for college kids to drink. And the service was horrible only got check on twice ! And once s we said we were done waiting bam ten different servers coming up trying to get us to stay saying just ten more minutes. DO NOT EAT HERE
With a group of 10, the service was very good and the restaurant is large and comfortable feeling. The food was good, but not great; I found The Canadian pasta dish needed more bacon and less chicken. Next time I go Ill try a different meal
Loving the environment including big tv and old fashioned furnitures . The menu may come off as a little bit pricy . Some tables and some floor area may be sticky.
Jamie was awesome Thank you! Jamie You have a awesome life. Go for your Dreams!!! Food : 5/5 |
Going for dinner is great. Going for pool after? Horrible. Bartenders didn t give females the time of day, only went to male customers. Paid for over an hour of pool even though it was less, had to ask for change back after paying over $20 for a pool game. The bartender rolled her eyes and had a bad attitude because I wanted change back. I went to the manager who was standing in between us who brushed me off and walked away from me. Ive worked in the service industry for years and I would be embarrassed if my coworkers acted this way. Unless you re a queens student I recommend sticking to raxxs.
Group of 10 enjoying a birthday event. It was a great night and the Grizzly Grill was perfect. Sevice, food and atmosphere, fantastic. We will definitely return.
I would highly recommend people to not come here, I came in here with my mom for mothers day and the service was not the greatest. We had to wait for our food for over an hour almost an hour and a half and during that time they checked on us maybe twice. When we got our food the steak that my mom got was underdone and the eggs were over cooked, along with part of the eggs Benedict was cold. I know that I will not be going back and neither will my group that was with me.
First time at the Grizz for brunch today, ordered Eggs Atlantic salmon & eggs benedict small wait but well worth it!!! Going back next weekend 100%, the server was great and drinks were delicious, thank you Grizz
Bartender upstairs Saturday night was SO rude and annoying. There was a group of 14 of us all drinking and eating- we all went to the bar and ordered separately as they requested and she was just so annoyed and ticked off. Maybe it s because we got there right at 5pm and waited for 15 minutes for her to open the bar and set up her tills. We spent close to $3000 just with our group, we had 3 tables of pool going and we were tipping, there was no reason for the bad attitude. I ordered a pizza and requested no hot peppers, well I think it came with extra. When I said I didn t want it and would like a replacement I was told no. I asked for a refund and was told no. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour for a restaurant. We also had a burger and fries. I was buying pitchers of beer and I asked for four 1/2 pint glasses and was refused and had to have full pint glasses. We decided to leave when the doorman/security came over to our table and started taking away all of our chairs and barstools. Like we re a group of 14 guys all eating and drinking and PAYING -leave us alone and let us keep drinking and eating and paying. Luckily we found a better establishment that was happy to take our money for the next 4 hours of our night out.
The food was cold and didnt taste good granted there were a lot of people in our party but the sentiment was about the same for everybody.
Went for mothers day brunch. Was not overly busy, regardless of that, food took 1 hour and 40 minutes to show up and when arrived was cold and poached eggs were way over cooked. Server did a great job of apologizing and trying to get things right for us, she was great. Offered us 20% off our food, but no manger ever came over to apologize. Not a great experience, will not return.
Went Monday with three other people the service was excellent but the food was terrible I ordered a Surf & Turf they said it was there specialte it was burnt and and shrimp. were black awful my sister had muscle could not finish them tasted awful and our friend had pizza they did not finish it because it tastes absolutely awful such a waste of money then I hear the next day you dont go there for the food its mainly a university pool and beer restaurant do not waste your money
Great atmosphere with great service and great food!! Always a wonderful time here :)
Excellent customer service, delicious food! Highly recommend! Will be back when visiting Kingston again!
Unique atmosphere with great and surprisingly affordable food. Would definitely recommend.
Disappointed with the food. Ribs were tough and had to chew off the bone. Mac and cheese was a good side but it was undercooked and bland. Even the pop was flat! Should have suspected when only one other table was occupied at dinner hour. Deco is outdoorsy and the waitress, Aleda, was friendly but I would not visit again nor recommend. Parking: Street parking may be hard to get in peak times.
Took my hubby and Dad here for dinner. The staff were super friendly. The food was awesome. The only not so great thing was we accidentally left our left overs on the table so we couldnt enjoy them later! Absolute tragedy.
We accidentally found this place on a busy Saturday in downtown Kingston because there was a good parking nearby. What a pleasant surprise was to find the great menu choices and pleasant timely services! I had Grizzly salad with shrimps and it was spectacular. Hubby was happy with his burger. Drinks were delicious too. We will be back whenever we visit Kingston!
From the moment we walked in the staff were great, Our waitress was fantastic... wish I could remember her name... young girl with short blonde hair. We had a party of 6, we ordered the dry ribs, mussels and calamari and all three apps were great. For the mains 3 of us had the prime rib which was great, one had the carvery which they hammered down, one had the pizza which they really enjoyed and another had the prime rib sandwich which was very tasty... all in all great food and great service, will make it my goto spot when in K-town
Staff acted as if I was not good enough to be there .
A big Joke. Don t loose your time there. I had not even a burger with no vegetables and no fries
Good experience had a good time and the food was good..
We were a big group who made our reservation about a month ago with a fixed menu to experience seamless service in order to enjoy our time together at the restaurant. Despite having the space and facility for serving big groups, it unfortunately didn t seem like they were experienced enough or prepared for serving a group more than 15 people. From taking the order to serving to bringing the bills, etc, the whole experience was not great. We had appetizers ordered for the whole group. The appetizer table was set first but no server was present to help at the table. The refill of the appetizer table happened only after a portion of our group arrived an empty appetizer dishes, and came only after maybe 20 minutes or so. The food was coming so spontaneously which resulted in some people in our group finishing their dinner while others still did not even had their food ready. I had ordered soup as my side dish, which came in the smallest bowl imaginable and was something more like a tomato paste - so thick and tasteless - to the point where everyone at our table questioned whether they knew what they served was a SOUP! Requests for an extra spoon etc were also never fulfilled. After a long three hour ordeal, at the point where everyone was so ready to pay and leave, it took the restaurant about AN HOUR! to prepare the bills and bring them to everyone, and let s not talk about the mistakes on a number of the bills which required further corrections, which took forever too. The food itself was also mediocre. You can get better quality and variety with better ambiance with even lower cost.
Great spot, the menu had so much to choose from and the drinks were delicious.
Service was ridiculous. We could not go in because we had multiple people.
Great place to eat and shoot some pool or just to relax.
The atmosphere was amazing because we are amazing 5 stars, really The staff is always pleasant and the food rich. Food
Great food! Highly recommend.
Thank you Grizzly Grill! We hosted our rehearsal dinner and rented the back space. The bartender and event staff were fabulous! Thank you for such a fun night!!
We made a reservation for 7pm. we showed up at 6:55pm and got seated at our table. We sat until 7:20pm with absolutely no service, no one had come over to even ask about drinks. Finally, we just got up and left because they weren t very busy in there either. It was actually quite ridiculous and I don t recommend going here.
First time here and wont be the last. We will come back next visit to kingston
We went there Friday evening. Place was surprisingly almost empty . The place was a bit dirty. Table was sticky ordered or food. We had to leave early for a family issue at home so we asked for it to go. They asked for payment before receiving our order so I did and gave a generous tip . Got to our car and the over priced food was horable. 32$ steak was boiled then lightly grilled. Only side was some mushy fries thats all no other side. 9$ sweet potato fries were less then a cup full of mush 29$ smoked meat platter. Ended up being a few pieces of dried up salami with some Breton crackers. That was so disscusting that you could not eat it. And it was such a small portion that it was rediculas. What a shameful way to cook . Most disappointing restaurant experience in my life. 80$ with 20$ tip. 100$ for unusable garbage food that the portion of edable wood not fill a child. And I took pics to prove my point
This place was quite a good laugh, drinks were relatively well priced, pool tables are a nice touch and the music isnt too loud.
I did not get to have food here but the atmosphere is awesome! Its a perfect place for a party/get together. Its massive with multiple pool tables. I had a great time. It opens until late as well.
The food was quite good. The service was terrible. From the time I was seated.... My server was more interested in chatting with the other staff than taking my order. When she did take my order I had barely got the words prime rib out of my mouth before she had turned and left me. So I didnt get the pop with my dinner I would have ordered if given the chance. My food did come quickly and it was quite tasty. But I asked for salt and pepper and a side of gravy. The gravy got to the table after I had finished my meal. The staff is doing this restaurant a disservice. Its too bad.
Good place to play pool Nice restaurant as well Its quite busy in the evening, you might have to wait quite a bit before getting a pool table
Favorite restaurant in Kingston! Our sever, Scout, was super attentive and friendly. The pool tables are awesome, and I cant wait to come back soon!
The steak was AMAZING
An excellent restaurant! Went in two days in a row while visiting Kingston. Amazing food and ambiance. Fair prices. Aleda was our server both nights and she was amazing! Excellent service! Would highly recommend!
Drinks were tasty but expensive. I was charged for a Premium bar shot for just a dark rum and ginger ale. No staff told me that their dark rum was premium or else I would have ordered normal rum. They never brought my DD the water they asked for. They messed up my other friends order and still charged him for it. But I liked their grapefruit gin fizz and the atmosphere is pretty good.
Love the grizz.
The food was delicious. Our waitress, Sara, was fantastic.
Its a great place and has been for a long time
Not a bad place for a drink but usually crowded and takes a while to get service.
The portions were rather small for the prices and the food was not anything special. The presentation of each was deliberate and well done. The chicken wings were like any other chicken wings and the ribs were not fall-off-the-bone, but they were not dry, either. I loved the atmosphere and I think we will come back next time we are in the country. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options here. Dietary restrictions: Not many options for low carb.
One of my favourite bars in town! Great staff and atmosphere!
Went to the washroom, the washroom was disgusting, the toilet was covered in urine. My friend offered to clean it for me and for under 10 seconds wiped the seat. We were kicked out for 2 ppl in the washroom. They clearly fail to maintain any kind of cleanliness standard and when brought to the attention of the manager Jamal, I was told to clean it yourself then A waste of time in there anyway - the manager has clearly reached the height of his potential and he was overall deplorable.
Brings back memories!
My first time hear in many years and my first time eating here. The food was great, atmosphere was nice and the service was good. Prices are a little elevated, but sadly that is the new norm everywhere.
we love scout. she was the sweetest human ever and incredible service. i would go back because she made my experience so nice
our server Scout was absolutely incredible! she was so kind and helpful and will definitely come back to see her
Food was great. Slow service. Server had no idea what beers they had on draft and didnt suggest any options.
Food was really good. Atmosphere was fun. Service was quite slow, not sure why? Enjoyed it regardless. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely go back. Went back for a Christmas event. The food was OK this time. The service was very slow again and 2 of our party of 13 never got their food until 40 minutes after everyone else. It was busy so somehow they got missed.
Walked in and made a reservation for 30 people, which the hostess reportedly got managements approval for. Upon arriving to an empty, unattractive environment of a restaurant at 7:30 pm, right on time, my table was denied dinner service. We had a Queens University elderly professor attend the event, and had to plead with management to at least allow him to order off the dinner menu. Management was unaccommodating and rude, as were waiters who were abiding by the manager s orders. Ridiculous service, was not given water without asking late into the meal. Do not come here.
I have been their twice and the service has been really great. I also really enjoyed their steak. The prices are also reasonable
Good place to hang out with friends A bit middle age people compared to the near pubs
I came here for a team dinner for my sons soccer team. We had reservations for 6:30pm and had to order ahead of time 4 days ahead of time. When we got there were seated they asked for drinks so we ordered drinks. We also asked if we can order apps but were told no because we had to do it when we placed our order 4 days prior. They also said that they had 3 big parties in at the same time. We waited almost 2 hours just to get our food. Even the kids waited this long. This place is poorly managed they knew ahead of time what they were getting into and over booked the dining area. My food was cold when I finally got it. Evertime we asked about the food the same answer came out we have 3 parties so its going to be a while. They even added a 18% gratuity and then poi t out that we can give more tip if we plaese. Your lucky you got the 18% i k ow it was not the waitresses falut but she did not communicate with us that often either only when we spoke to her she would speak. To keep us in the loop would have been great and caring. Would not recommend this place as service is horrible.
We were in Kingston for a day trip and stopped into The Grizzly Grill for dinner. The food was plentiful and amazing. We will definately go back and eat there again.
I regret that I didn t take pictures; however, we enjoyed an excellent dining experience. From the starters to entrees, everything was outstanding. Great portions. Reliable service. The menu is creative and flavourful. My entire tribe was so glad wifey picked this spot.
Amazing, from the knowledgeable service to amazing food. This is a must do in Kingston.
Prime rib was delicious but it was fatty. Salad and dessert were good.
Stopped in for drinks with friends thr other night and the staff shut down at midnight and kicked us out almost 2 full hours before their posted closing hours. Would have liked to buy a few more rounds of drinks and pool but I guess the staff wanted the time off more than the revenue. Will try another place for our next pool night.
I think the food is overpriced for the quality. I ordered ribs with cornbread and seasonal vegetables. The ribs were very tough I literally had to tear them off the bone (not falling off the bone at all), I got 1/4 slice of cornbread, and my seasonal veggies consisted of one half of corn that tasted old and dehydrated, and a third of the corn was too old to even eat the kernels were flat and old at the tip. It honestly looked like a sad plate of food, and got the impression management is trying to save money by charging more for less. Service was okay, but our water glasses remained empty longer than they were full.
Mediocre service at best. the menu isnt that good
Service excellent, meal was a disaster. We each ordered the prime rib. Everything on our plates was cold. The cook decided it would be a good idea to grill the prime rib to heat it up, turning them into well done steaks - Fail! Second round of prime rib was cooked a lot more than we ordered and still not very hot, but at that point at least the potatoes and carrots were hot. The waitress was very understanding and a charm.
Had delicious food, and the atmosphere is especially good. Went and played pool after dinner, overall fun night. Would definitely go back.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BLACKENED POTATO SALAD?!?! It used to be so good, have corn, mayo, and just generally was incredibly delicious. I traveled long and hard to return home from lands afar and was so excited to have it again after years of craving it, but there was an over-salted abomination instead. PLEASE BRING IT BAAAACK!
Worst staff of any restaurant in Kingston! I don t write reviews often, but I felt not only clients but management needs to be aware of this. I was with a group of people and their preferred choice of drink was a rye and ginger. At least a dozen other people had ordered the drink and had the same issue. The drink was simply rye and no ginger, no carbonation and it made the drink taste awful. I let two servers know of the issue so they can change the jug before serving more of these drinks and I was immediately disregarded and ignored. They continued to sell the drink knowing there was an issue. I had to chase down the manager so the issue would be addressed and people would receive proper drinks. Wasnt looking for a refund but didn t even get an offer to remake them, let alone an apology. After a conversation with another staff member it was admitted that none of the staff care about their jobs and man does that show. @ the owner of the Grizz - Each member of your staff should be fired starting with the power tripping manager Jamaal.
Food and service was lacking a lot
Excellent place to hang out with friends and play pool. Food is good and service is fast.
Went with a large group with a meal pre-planned. The staff were fantastic, organized, and friendly. Between us we had the salmon and the prime rib. Both dishes were outstanding and generously portioned .
The waitress was excellent and the food brought in good time. We were celebrating a birthday and since they didnt have cake said we could bring one in, which we did, and kept at the table. There is a $10 cake cutting fee but they didnt take the cake or cut it, we did, but there is still a $10 fee added to the bill. After spending $240 for our dinner I felt that extra $10 fee was unnecessary and inappropriate.
