The Shuroop is more than just a restaurant; it’s an intimate connection between two cultures. Explore a diverse selection of Japanese cuisine, from the freshest sushi and sashimi to mouth-watering ramen, tempura, Japanese Curry and rice dishes. Delight in our signature rolls, specialty dishes, and a variety of beverages including sake, soju, and imported beers.
The first picture is of their new sushi recipe. It's full of delicious garlic and is a must try. The miso ramen is delicious and very filling. The pork is cooked very well. Very affordable. Great service.
A great variety of food options and the staff were all very kind. I was super excited that they have bing su (shaved ice dessert) and got the mango one. All the food was delicious and I would definitely go back again!
We stumbled across this restaurant today and so happy we did! Lots of delicious food options. The owner is very kind and appreciative of his customers. Would come back in a second!
We have visited 5 times since the new owners took over, every time we dined they surprised us with a new delicious sushi/ authentic dishes, this is the only restaurant we'll order sushi rolls. ANDDDDDD they have improved the Ramen broth, the quality is exceptional! The New Owners' hardwork and palate taste has step up the Japanese cuisine game for Kingston. Thank you!
The food was excellent. We tried the menu special and the curry meal. They had music in the background, and then it stopped. I would've left it play for the atmosphere.
My girlfriend and I loved the large selection. Our server was very kind and helpful in our order (young girl). The vibe was really chill, and the food was great. Sushi tastes fresh and portions are fair.
really great Japanese restaurant!! very reasonable price for the quality and quantity of the food. the tempura bento box and spicy edamame were really delicious. also, the shuroop ramen was amazing! the noodles were soft and chewy and the broth was really flavorful with the aroma of the tonkatsu. slightly on the saltier side, but it's alright. lastly, the bingsu - 10/10 - amazing 🤤 best dessert I've had in a while!!
Everything about this restaurant is great- the food, the staff, and the atmosphere! They apologized for the “long” wait time for food however the wait time was perfectly reasonable! They even sent out a complementary roll which was incredibly kind. This restaurant truly values customer experience and wants to make sure you enjoy your visit. Food was soooo tasty, I will definitely be returning as a loyal customer :)
Best takeout experience ever! They even lent me a platter so no re-plating necessary. Stellar service, order ready on time and everything was so delicious. I will be back! Vegetarian options: All delicious Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Excellent food, friendly staff and good prices. I love they are willing to accommodate clients requests.
My first time there and I got the Shuroop ramen dish. It was amazing! Best ramen I ve had so far in Kingston. Definitely going back to get this. The service was great! Food
The quality of fish has gotten unimaginably good. And the food is incredible! Anyone who had a bad time before needs to give this place another try! They have turned this place around and I can guarantee you wont find fresher sushi anywhere in kingston
Was looking to try a new sushi place in Kingston and came here. Service was friendly and fast. I got the sashimi bento box. Everything was delicious and the sashimi was super fresh. Lovely restaurant run by a husband and wife. Definitely a must try!
Service is fantastic and very friendly, the Shuroop ramen is delicious, very filling, and reasonably priced!
Love this place. Ive been coming to this spot since 2011, And everytime I visit Kingston it never disappoints. I am happy to be back and its still amazing.
For the first time in 5 years I found a sushi that beats the sushi memory I have from Brazil (where I had the best sushis so far). The Lava sushi was out this world! You also need to try the Pork Belly ramen. It tastes like home (or like heaven, couldn t decide). This is third time we come here and it is always better the time before.
Amazing place! Great food and incredible staff. Highly recommend! 11/10
Really good sushi! I got the salmon lover combo and it was delicious
New owners. Great enviros. Near Vancouver-esque sushi shop. Super friendly staff and go to talk to the owner. Their presentation and professionalism has heightened. Sashimi is fresh. Can work on the nigri and the noodles, hence I gave 4 stars on the food. But, the best Japanese food dining experience in Kingston due to their service and protean menu items.
Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere!!!
Very cute place! Honestly the best sushi i ve ever had. The owner is super sweet. I would definitely recommend! Vegetarian options: So many veggie rolls!!
Delicious salmon poke! Big pieces of fresh salmon sashimi with lots of avocado and wakame salad. Bingsu was very yummy too Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options like agedashi tofu, veggie tempura, vegetarian ramen and sushi.
I recently dined at The Shuroop, and it was a great experience! The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous definitely worth the price. The customer service was also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place for a tasty meal in a nice atmosphere. I can t wait to go back!
Thanks to Caroline for her welcome and her excellent French. We enjoyed ourselves, the dishes were .
I like the sushi, the costumer service and atmosphere, they brought miso soup and very fresh salad on the house which was nice, the only comment is the sushi rice was a bit raw
This is seriously the best sushi I e ever tasted! Cute little restaurant. Doesn t hold too many ppl but wow!!!!
Great sushi and bowls. One of the best I tasted in Kingston. Unfortunately their hours are limited so must try to catch them early, must try hidden gem.
Amazing so good and so friendly!
Good food, friendly service.
Amazing food and staff
Table of three. My meal was served about 10 minutes after my friends were served. Food was just OK. Note: not wheelchair accessible, and the washrooms are upstairs. ***RESPONSE TO OWNER*** Thank you for your reply. I understand the challenges of an older building. My comment was intended to inform others who may wish to dine and require accessible facilities, particularly the washrooms, which are located upstairs. Regarding the timing of our meals, I recognize that different dishes take varying amounts of time to prepare. However, the issue was a lack of coordination from the kitchen. It s generally expected that a table will be served together, and the kitchen should be mindful of this when managing orders. I hope this feedback helps improve future dining experiences. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible
Great place to eat. Service was amazing.
The waitress was really nice! Great service and very kind people. Would definitely dine again.
veggie bento (right one)is the best!! Very affordable!
Delicious food, great staff, highly recommend! Very welcoming with our 2 families with young children Vegetarian options: Delicious veggie ramen and tofu
We went right at lunch time, and there was a large family group and another table of 2. We were told right away that we might have to wait a little bit longer than usual, maybe because of a takeout order? We ordered takoyaki which lacked the fish flakes so it really didnt taste like much... It was ok but definitely needed the flakes. We also ordered the sushi and sashimi lunch combo but for some reason instead of 6 pieces of salmon sashimi I received 3 pieces of tuna and 3 of salmon. Not a huge deal and the waiter seemed overwhelmed as another 2 or 3 groups had since arrived so I didnt even mention it. We also ordered the fried udon bulgogi which had a lot of flavour, and good amount of meat and veggies. The meal was also supposed to come with miso soup that the waiter forgot and we had to ask for. Overall the food was ok, and I will probably go back to try the shaved ice but just not at a peak time. It was just too chaotic
I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was fresh and very tasty and the prices are reasonable. The owner of the establishment is extremely attentionate and brought us free Sake while we were waiting for our sushi platter. Its the little things that matter most. Really nice cozy atmosphere. Will come again. Thank you!
It was my first time to the restaurant today. The food is delicious!!! Great price! We were full and had some left over :)
Our party of six had a lovely time here. The service was fast and incredibly friendly; the food was well priced and delicious. We will come back here every time we re in Kingston!
So excited to have quality sushi downtown Kingston. The food is fresh and generous portions of sashimi. An unpretentious and simple atmosphere with welcoming staff including the owner and his wife (chef) make this my go-to sushi/sashimi for lunch and dinner. Hoping they will bring in some cold saki options to the menu.
I love this place. Great little gem in downtown Kingston for sushi. The food and service are both exceptional. I highly recommend.
Very good food. Warm welcome. Nice place. The meal arrives quickly so I recommend taking your drink and waiting before ordering your meal.
The Shuroop is very cute spot! I tried Bingsu for the first time here and I would highly recommend giving it a try!
Loved it here and I love that we could rent the upstairs for karaoke! :D
We came when it was a bit slower, so the food was prepared quickly. Staff is so friendly. The food, phenomenal! Went out of their way to accommodate food allergies. The value for the food was good. The vegetables were fresh. I quite enjoyed this place, nice to have a break from all the Pub food which is around Kingston.
Great food and service, recommended.
Randomly decided on it while walking by, went way beyond expectations! Delicious food, amazing prices, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Truly everything you could want from a restaurant
We found this place by chance on a hot day in Kingston. My son had ramen which he found delicious. I ordered vegetable tempura which unbeknownst to me came with a lovely salad with a perfectly balanced acidic/sweet heavenly dressing. Service was warm, and attentive. We are going to go back for supper tomorrow!
This is the best sushi I ve ever had. The ingredients are so fresh, and the sushi is so filling. Would highly recommend ordering from here!
The food was 10/10. The owner was such a sweet person it was the best experience. My spot from now on
Mango bingsu wasnt so good as they dont use fresh mango as normal in Korea. And small size comes in a really small cup, impossible to eat without spilling. Food : 2/5
The best food, very friendly and really fair price 10/10 recommend for every one
I dined here and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, offering a great variety of authentic Asian dishes that were both flavorful and beautifully presented. What truly made the visit special was the owner s warm hospitality. making us feel right at home.
We had dinner at this place. Pros: food quality was ok. Cons: The menu prices were out of date, so we got charged higher than expected. The waiter/owner seemed very inexperienced in customer service and hygene level. The old owner is gone so has service quality.
Overall satisfied! I called the restaurant today to request the Green Salad I had at the restaurant, and they are very helpful and accommodated my request. The pork add on I had for 4$ is very generous! And so so tasty and appetizing! Thank you! I had a great dinner!
I ordered the miso ramen with chicken katsu. It s delicious and served piping hot. The chicken katsu was freshly prepared and was enough for two people. I couldn t eat it all, although I wanted to. The prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. This is the second time in two months I have visited here for lunch. I highly recommend it. I came back the next day and enjoyed the salmon bento box. The veggie tempura was really tasty and perfectly executed. The rest of the meal was delicious. If you have the opportunity, try this place.
The best ramen and sushi Ive had in years. Portions, price and quality are on point.
Me and my family went out for sushi and ramen, the food was amazing, I went in not liking sushi and came out liking it, the service was amazing and our waiter was so nice and made the experience much better
We did a walk in take out order. They were very helpful guiding us through the menu. The food was very fresh and tasty. Highly recommend!
All time favourite restaurant in Kingston! The food is so good along with the service!
Was my go to lunch spot a while ago but ownership changed and it hasn t been the same since.
Simply the best
Very fresh and good food. Great sashimi and bento box
The place is homey and comforting. Their staff are attentive and welcome you with a smile. We went there during peak hour I think so we wait a bit longer than expected. You can also order from them through uber eats. Their portions are huge. 2 person can share with one bowl of Ramen. I can recommend their takoyaki and crab tempura.
Loved their ramen. It was delicious, with plenty of meat and a big portion size.
Really nice place! The sushi is amazing.. they never disappoint me with the quality and fresh food. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
Delay of food was not good, first person finished, others still waiting. Sashimi was tough, hot food ok
cute spot for dates or with friends food was good and server was very kind
Amazing food great service !!!
It isnt RAMEN. Asian please dont try. I finished it with hunger.
We had lunch here with our kids. The food was good, the first salad really helped stimulate appetite, I like the chicken yaki, it was good! The boom dynamite sushi roll was OK. My husband ordered a salmon bento box, which was a new item on the menu. Everything was fine before the bento box We waited quite a time for it. And I forgot what it was included on the menu. So just simply compared to what we had bento box in other places. The seared salmon itself was good, but it was kind of tasteless, we thought maybe the chief forgot the sauce? And the bento box usually comes with rice, this one didn t, but maybe it differs from others. And the soup came after we asked the waiter if a soup would included. Th waiter was nice, and he asked how the bento box was at the end, we told him our experience, he explained to us that the restaurant just changed chief today, so they may still in transition. Only got a chance to take a pic of the bento box.
The closest thing to Naruto ramen youll get. The interior is giving studio ghibli vibes. Staff are great. Real delicious ramen.
Wanted sushi but most downtown were closed but we found this place! Amazing food! Amazing service and the restaurant is very cute! Will definitely be coming back!
This absolutely hit our ramen craving spot - especially having so many katsu ramen options, we almost couldn t decide! The chicken katsu ramen was delicious, the broth was well flavoured and the chicken katsu made for a perfect crispy crunch to offset the soft noodles. Such a great spot for ramen!
Really good food
I love this place. The staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic, I recommend the tomatsu and dynamite roll.
The food is really good here. I satisfied with their service so I was soooo worth it!
The fish is really good felt like it actually matched the price. On the other hand atmosphere could use some work particularly with the reusable utensils. Menus need refreshing adding some more detail about mixing and matching would be beneficial. Our waitress provided excellent service.
Amazing service and atmosphere, the food was pretty good. We had a great time.
Did a walk-in take-out order. The lady at the cash was very nice and I didnt have to wait long for my order to be ready. I ordered the dragon roll with torched salmon on top (cant remember the exact name on the menu). The rolls are quite large and were good overall. My only complaint is that the rice was very slightly undercooked (had a bit more chew) but its not a big deal. Bonus: the takeout bag was one of the sturdiest plastic bags Ive seen in a while!
Very good Join wills and estates club everyone Food : 5/5
Service is always friendly. Usually busy, not a bad idea to make reservations. I had the tuna poke bowl and friend had spicy salmon sushi rolls. Sushi is always fresh and beautifully presented. Vegetarian options: We had the deep fried tofu appetizer. Sauce on it was sweet. Wheelchair accessibility: No. The restaurant is very narrow and the bathrooms are up a flight of stairs.
Food, service, and price is all amazing! Very happy with this choice and recommend it to everyone in Kingston.
This place is changing their name to The Shuroom and no longer serves sushi on their menu. Me and my girlfriend went here for dinner today and it was so good! We both ordered ramen (with customizations in our orders, which they got perfectly) that came very fast, was relatively cheap (usually less than $20 per a huge bowl of ramen), and passed all expectations that we have for taste. We go to ramen places all the time and this is by far our favourite. Tasted amazing, great service, and cheap prices. The staff were very kind to a child that was also in the restaurant at the same time as us, and even gave her a candy! Very nice place, would give more stars if I could. Thank you Shuroom!
the restaurant is now called the shuroop! their udon was super tasty and a big portion :)
Even though the restaurant name changed to The Shuroop, the quality of food and service is still just as fantastic! The Shuroop ramen was delicious and the portion was very generous!
This place is now called Shuroop. They have awesome dishes and this is the first place I know of in Kingston that has Bingsu! Korean shaved ice dessert
has it closed or moved?
Very good food, would comeback for more some time! Vegetarian options: Menu is small but haves a few options
Did an Uber eats order, and the salmon poke we ordered was probably the worst one I ve ever had. The rice was probably the best thing in it (which says a lot considering it was on the dry side and absolutely soulless). The salmon was definitely far from sushi quality, and I had a hard time swallowing it while trying my best to avoid it touching any of my taste buds cause it was just plain bad, but I was rly hungry. The combination of crab stick and bad salmon was very interesting in the worst way possible, I will never forget how much their respective tastes fought over which one will leave a worse aftertaste. The seaweed and cucumber were warm?? Like, I don t understand how lukewarm rice is able to warm the rest of the ingredients to the worst possible temperature known to mankind. I m genuinely reconsidering my love for sushi/poke right now because of the abomination I ve been exposed to. Granted, maybe I m overreacting because the dish left me hungry (also very unhappy and confused), but I ll definitely avoid ordering online from them in the future.
Posted hours are wrong- drove from Ottawa (because the food is good) to find the restaurant closed.
One of the best ramen places in Kingston. I highly recommend this restaurant and the owner is so kind:)) I would definitely come again with my friends. It is worth of price.
Very nice staff Food came out quick and warm Lots of choices Really felt welcome
Great service, flavourful food. 10/10
My friend and I split the regular size ingeolmi bingsu; it was pretty filling and the flavour was great loved the addition of red bean! The owners were so so nice; we had a great conversation with them! I would definitely recommend :)
Renamed The Shuroop but same great quality and customer service. Owners take pride in their work and are hardworking, kind people. Bathroom upstairs on second floor.
Simply delicious
It was really good and the portions are so big for price and the employees are really kind!!!!
Small, busy and understaffed. Great menu and tasty food.
Formally sushibar da, also formally maru, now called shuroop (umbrella in korean). Uninspired, bland, Korean take on Japanese food. I had the spicy miso ramen. It was god awful. Cold boiled egg, poorly presented pork slices, grocery store flavoured miso broth, you can really see the lack of effort in their cooking. I m assuming the same owner decided to rename the restaurant because of poor foot traffic. Same menu, over priced, underperforming. Dated decor, dusty, and filthy floors, and stop it with the plastic dish displays out front, no one wants to see that. Head to sushiya zen, pho chopstick, or souel to soul.
The food here was fantastic!
I ordered a sashimi combo, a sushi combo, and a few maki for a family gathering and picked up. Although the name has changed, their food is always fresh and feels good. Thank you Jimmy and Veronica!
The shuroop restaurant sushi was delicious and the owner was so kind.
If you are thinking about sushi this is the right place for you. The best sushi restaurant in Kinston! I was traveling for a business and actually already tried some Japanese restaurants in the area. I finally leave a review here. The owner and staff are very friendly and kind. I was thinking about menu but a staff recommended her favourite. I really enjoyed the food.
Best Ramen and Sushi
Rebranded as The Shuroop in 2023. Slow service. Limited options. Both sushi places around the corner and across the street are better options for sushi. Ramen might still be worth it, but probably not when Kinton opens.
I ordered shuroop Ramen and california roll, It is so delicious~!!
Very delicious and tasty asian food, and the very nice couple who owns this little restaurant are very respectful and warm. We should help and patronize local businesses like this. Our new favourite asian restaurant. To add to that, the prices are very reasonable and affordable.
The food was so good, and its definitely worth the money for the portions you get!
Found this place by accident but so glad we did. Was just driving thru Kingston and decided to stop and grab dinner. Sunday night and not many places were open. Happy to have stumbled upon this restaurant. The server was so friendly and service was fast. Food was yummy. Ramen hit the spot. Sushi was fresh. Katsu was juicy and crispy.
I loved their shaved Ice and their kindness. Sushi was quite big. Was surprised specially every thing is expensive these days.
Great price, great customer service! Loved their Miso ramen! Food
Paid $7 for 4 of the tiniest nuggets to ever be called takoyaki. Felt like a slap in the face. The sushi wasnt bad, though.
Sushi is always good here! I recommend spicy salmon roll! It s the best in town
Ramen soup ok. Pretty good tempura. Excellent service, very friendly owner.
The restaurant is nice and has both Korean and Japanese foods. Today I got the Shuroop Ramen, and while the toppings were tasty and generous, I am pretty sure the noodles were actually Chinese mein noodles, which is a different texture and colour. I d like to return to try the bingsu soon though!
it was incredibly delicious
The food was delicious (as you can see from my picture being taken after we had already destroyed most of the food!) The new owners are fantastic and very friendly! I highly recommend coming in to eat and say hi!
We tried this place for lunch on our first day visiting the city , the Bulgogi Bento was great and the service excellent ! Would recommend!
The unagi is stupidly outstanding. Ill go in just that. On the flip side the Ramen is the best in Kingston and I hope they dont read this under priced
The service by the family run business was excellent. The food was tantalizing to the palette. I recommend this place to anyone. I come Montreal and would eat here again 100%.
Sashimi combo its tastes yummy must try in kingston
great food bingsu was great spicy chicken udon and inari maki was fireeeee Food : 5/5
Absolutely delicious food, with great atmosphere and prices! The restaurant was formerly known as Sushibar da. Theyve changed ownership and names, but the food is just as great as its always been. The chicken bento box has always been my go-to, along with their amazing sushi. Portions are very nice, and I will definitely be back to this restaurant whenever Im in kingston!
First time for us. Nice ambiance. Very tasty lunch of sushi and Ramen. Great service. Everything was fresh. Good portions. Thank you, will be back.
Best sushi in town, hands down. If ya didnt like it before, youll love it now. The owners are not only personable but, they care and genuinely want you to have the best experience possible. I wouldnt ever tell anyone to go anywhere different if the Shuroop is open. Make the right decision and eat quality with quality people.
great food for such a low price! it is perfect for a quick lunch casual. will try the bingsu next time i come!!
The best dessert I ever had in Kingston. The owners were very caring and friendly! Definitely will be going back, great for couples or a big group Food
Very delicious food!.
Veggie sushi was meh, very fishy smelling and tasting. Gyoza soup was good!
BEST PLACE EVER YOU HAVE TO COME HERE
Veronica and Jimmy are great and the food is unreal. Has quickly become one of my favourite spots.
I was really craving eel, so I came here after reading the Google reviews and it was so delicious.. I thought it was a new place, but I heard that they have been at this place for 6 years and recently changed their name! Somehow... I can feel the inner strength! I will come back next time to try other menus Highly recommended as a delicious restaurant in Kingston!!
I was visiting from Brampton where I was looking for something to eat. I met the owner who actually took the time to make my meal for me personally. I ordered a shrimp tampura which came out hot and fresh, the food is A1 and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives in Kingston and to anyone who is visiting Kingston.
Just changed name of restaurant!! The food is still amazing Its my favorite sushi restaurant ever!!! Food : 5/5
Food service is all perfect. Be sure to try the ramen and shaved ice.
This place has become our #1 favourite spot in Kingston. We drive from out of town for the Shuroop. We ve tried many dishes, and we re never disappointed. The portion sizing is generous and the food is top notch - highly recommend trying this place out.
Family and I have been to this place twice now. Food is fresh and tastes great! One of our favorite restaurants now in Kingston!
We enjoyed the dinner with our 10 year old. The food was yummy with lots of veg options. The atmosphere was fine but not fab. Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from.
The food and service is very impressive
Have the best bite of sushi from shuroop
Very good food and service.
The tasty world of sushi and ramen
Love the Bingsu here!
Our experience at The Shuroop was phenomenal! We cant wait to come back. A hidden gem in downtown Kingston with incredible food and friendly, accommodating owners. The soups are amazing and there is lots to choose from on the menu! Highly recommend!!
This restaurant is a one of a kind hole in the wall that offers delicious assortments of sushi/sashimi and savoury ramen that is 100 steps higher than any other ramen in Kingston. I highly recommend their DA Ramen, and their Kingston Sushi Roll which will make every local proud to have a roll named after their city. For desserts they offer housemade shaved ice made from milk, that is very light and not too sweet. This is the perfect place for students and for date nights as they have a very quiet and warm atmosphere. If youre looking for great food in a homely environment, this is the place for you. Ps: They even offer karaoke!
Thank you so much for an amazing experience. The presentation was really good and the restaurant was very clean. I will come again with friends and family :)
The presentation and taste of the food were great :)
Da Ramen and Shuroop combo, it was really delicious ~!
Always delicious and hits the spot! Excellent service by the waiter
The sweetest mom and pop sushi restaurant in downtown Kingston. I am always greeted with a warm welcome and be served with a great meal. Will definitely be here again.
The Shuroop is my favorite sushi restaurant in Kingston. It was formally named Sushibar Da, except for the name change, everything else is the same! They even added bingsu (Korean shaved ice) to the menu and it s really good!! Would highly recommend!! Loved this salmon lover combo dish!!! Also has tons of other ramen and apps to choose from :)
The food was delicious!! Thank you so much! My friend and I shared the White Dragon combo and the Green Dragon roll and it was so good The butter fish was super fresh and it melted in my mouth!! The portions were also huge, we had some leftover. We also grabbed some bingsu on our way out and it was also very good. I will be going again!!!
Loved the white dragon combo and Shuroop bingsoo! The rolls are pretty big so two was definitely filling.
The Shuroop, located in the heart of downtown Kingston is an amazing dining experience! The food is top-notch, including sushi, ramen, udon, and rice dishes. The Nagasaki ramen bowl is my personal favourite. The shaved ice desserts are a sweet delight. The service is impeccable, ensuring a perfect dining experience. This place even has karaoke! The Shuroop is a 5-star gem in Kingston, offering outstanding cuisine, a vibrant atmosphere, and excellent service. Its a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you Shuroop staff for the amazing food and dining experience!
I had a chance to experience Chirashi. It was so delicious and tasty.
Very tasty sushi and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
My roommate and I had the bento box and it was phenomenal! Great quality of food (we really liked the salmon and tempura) and excellent service. We will be returning soon for sure!!
Authentic food with great portion sizes, definitely coming back
Best Ramen in Kingston! Great quality Sushi every time we visit, service is top notch! I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you!
2 adults plus 1 toddler, we finished two rolls, one pork Katsu don and one bowl of ramen. My son almost finished a whole dynamic roll by himself which must be very yummy and fresh, the rice was on the sweet side. The pork katus don comes with a quarter cup of rice and a lot of meat. The pork was beyond delicious. Raman comes with big portion, the soup is nice.
10/10 I go here all the time since my work is just around the corner and the service is amazing every time! Ive probably tried half of their menu by now and I havent found anything that wasnt great. My personal favourites that I keep going back to are the orange dragon roll, the salmon and cream cheese roll, and the beef gyoza. Thank you Veronica who frequently takes my order, and to the rest of the staff for running one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston :)
Its hard to order because EVERYTHING looks good in these pics. I kept it simple and got DA Ramen knowing Im coming back now anyways. Ive eaten lots of Ramen around the world and this one was top notch hitting the spot tonight. Such nice staff, I was in then out with quick service and incredible food Solid performance, great place, 5 stars.
I just finished eating ^^ The owner is so kind and the food is neat and delicious~ Thank you so much~ I hope your business prospers and I ll see you again next time.
The charming eatery in Kingston, Ontario, offers a delightful experience with its fantastic cuisine and impeccable service, featuring a diverse selection of delectable choices. Our visit left us thoroughly satisfied, even amidst their bustling activity. Kudos to the team for a job well done!
It was our first time, had a good brunch and the service is amazing. Must try for Kingston people.
Amazing ramen! I got the spicy miso and my bf got the shuroop ramen. The broth was amazing for both and the pork was soft and tasty. Also a very good portion size. We also got the shuroop bingsu and that was very tasty as well. We will be going back.
I got the Yam Maki from here a couple times and it was delicious but the last time I ordered, I got horrendous food poisoning and fell extremely Ill. The one woman who served my partner and I a few times was extremely rude but the other lady was very kind.
FAB , FRESH , and FIERCE RAMEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
The Shuroop is such a wonderful place to eat! Jimmy and Veronica are the sweetest ever and always make us the best food
The shuroop is such a lovely place to eat! I had the spicy miso ramen and it was delicious I also had some salmon sushi and it was very tasty! Overall the atmosphere is great, the owners Jimmy and Veronica as well as our server Marcus are incredibly friendly and the food tastes so good! Great place to eat!
Excellent service and meals. Tailored just to our liking, very attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. Thanks you guys. See you soon.
Great service and delicious food. It s a fun place to go no matter how big the group of people. It s my go-to place for sushi in Kingston!
Super welcoming staff and great tasty food! I have ordered delivery and also dined in and they prepare everything you order in the spot so its always fresh and at the right temperature. There are a lot of dishes and even some desert options with a different floor for you to consume them and hang with friends. They play nice Japanese music and the atmosphere is nice. They also have very clean washrooms and the hot water tap works.
Super kind staff. Food was very good. Atmosphere was clean. Definitely recommend the Boom Dynamite.
There is no word can explain how amazing of my experience. 1000000 /10 for the food + services + the warm welcoming Food : 5/5
I can t get over how good this place is! The freshest fish and amazing quality. Highly recommend the spicy Kani roll and boom dynamite! Can t wait to come back and try the ramen! Best in Kingston 10/10
Sashimi not fresh. Special rolls have the thinnest pieces of fish I ve ever seen at a sushi restaurant. Thinner than the ones you get at all you can eat places. Dated decor with dirty seats. Quality has gone down significantly in the last few years. Will not return.
I ordered the chicken karahaga, boom dynamite, rainbow, and spicy tempura. When it came it looked kind of off, i said whatever and ate it. To start it tasted worse than other places, and the next morning i find out im food poisoned. The decor was bad like wallpaper peeling off and the tables are very shaky. Never going back and this place should shut down.
some things were ok such as the starters (spring rolls and chicken karahaga) but the quality of the fish and the size of the maki rolls was absurd. boom dynamite roll was so big that it fell apart when you tried to pick it up. the rainbow roll was so disappointing i was surprised. the fish was not fresh at all, and the roll tasted stale. not coming back, as i was very disappointed especially considering the high price point. edit: it is the next day and my partner that i ate dinner with has food poisoning. never coming back here.
My go-to sushi restaurant!!
It is a small space with less than 12 tables (4s and 2s) We were seated but after waiting 15 minutes we were told that we had to wait to order because the kitchen needed to space out the orders . No offer of beverages either. 20 minutes later, after zero attention, we left.
A la carte shushi and sashimi was good but the sushi in the platter we ordered was of poor quality. Fish was not fresh in the platter.
Platter was stale. A la carte was good. Dont spend your money on a platter. They put the left overs there!
I ordered a 40-piece sushi maki combo, but I dont know if the rice was water-adjusted or frozen, but it turned into powder every time I chewed it, like soybeans, and didnt seem to be seasoned properly. There are no particularly expensive parts used, and the overall size is very small. Quantity, quality and taste, none of them are good.
Place was good. Sashimi was tasty and thick sliced. Prices were decent, definitely on the better list of sushi places to go that is open later on a weekday. Server was very pleasant and you get a discount paying cash. Will return to try their ramen which apparently they are known for.
Nice food! Nice people! I will come to sushibar da again! Thanks~!!!
Best Sushi in town. All rolls are great but the yashi dragon is just delicious. Rolls are huge and filling. We have never been disappointed.
Worst sushi I ve ever had, rice is so hard feels like leftovers or not fully cooked, beef teriyaki tastes like beef jerky.
Good value for what you get. Lots of filling in the Maki, nicely presented. Fresh salad and water brought without asking. Very friendly staff, too. Really busy on a Wednesday night and not a very big space. Worth the 30 minute wait. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie rolls--more than most sushi restaurants. Eight options. The Avocado Dragon was delicious.
excellent sushi
Not impressed
Service was friendly and food fresh
Good price and good taste
Good sushi, good service. Portions and ambiance could be better for the cost
The sushi was bland, warm, and the white fish appeared grey. The tuna was cut thinly making for a disappointing meal. Given the place was packed, I expected the sushi to be at least average when compared to other restaurants. However, I ve had better discounted sushi from a grocery store than the overpriced one at this establishment.
A lovely little place with excellent Japanese food.
So yummy
Went at 7pm on a Tuesday. Google said they are open. Place is dark and not open. They look like they are permanently closed however not sure. So disappointing.
We use to love it....but the last couple of times weve been sad to see the quality of the food and dining room go down. We ordered ramen and it was so bad we both couldnt finish it, something we use to go specifically for. The noodles were all clumped together, the egg was grey inside around the yolk, it just tasted and looked like there was no pride or love put in that food. Very sad. :(
