331 King St E, Kingston, ON K7L 3B5, Canada
Fusion tapas restaurant with an Old World atmosphere, locally-sourced ingredients & international flavours.
We stumbled across this restaurant and thought that we would give it a try....Am I ever glad we did!!! The interior is absolutely stunning and so cozy. There menu is very well laid out and very affordable for the quality of food that you receive. We decided to order the Tuna Poke Nachos to start....omg delish. Small bites but covered in food and flavoured perfectly. Second dish was the Thai Curry Cod, once again the portion was just perfect and the flavours were amazing and complimentary to the fish. The last dish was the Queso Y Chorizo, Once again these were bite sized pieces but were flavoured and cooked to perfection. I have to confess that we cleaned every plate, and I mean cleaned. It was so delicious that we did not want any sauce left on the plate...lol Besides the food and the ambiance the service was just wonderful. Our server was the most amazing young lady and very knowledgable about the whole menu. (I wish I remembered her name, Nov 25th at noon) I am not partial to hot spicy food and she directed me perfectly. I cannot wait until we visit Kingston again and we are definately eating here again. I have included photos of the menu, Cod and the Chorizo and Manchego. Thanks so much for such a great experience
Absolutely loved this tapas bar! The food quality is top notch! There seems to be several types of cuisines mixed into the menu , but particularly a Turkish feel. The Knafeh is sooo good ! 😋 The atmosphere is really nice too with great service at the bar. Highly recommend!
Tango Nuevo in Kingston offers a vibrant dining experience with its blend of Argentine and Spanish cuisines. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. The menu features a variety of tapas, which are perfect for sharing, alongside expertly grilled meats that showcase authentic Argentine flavors. The empanadas are a standout, crispy and filled with savory goodness. The wine selection, heavily featuring South American varietals, complements the food beautifully. Service is attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Overall, Tango Nuevo is a must-visit for anyone seeking a lively atmosphere and delicious food in Kingston.
An exceptional experience. Good food with nicely sized tapas portions. The Brussels Sprouts are a must have and the Tuna Tataki was seared just right. Flavourful food and well executed dishes. Our server was quite good - attentive without being overbearing and made great recommendations on our dishes. I will definitely go back to enjoy other offerings on their menu.
Amazing place! I have never tasted such good dishes! The option to share with your friends and family is so great and a good experience. Beautiful service from magie! I will definitely come back!
This place is the definition of quality over quantity, so don't come here expecting to walk out on a full stomach. The Tuna Poke Nachos are one of their most popular dishes, and for good reason. The combination of every ingredient was perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing. The Mediterranean Eggplant and Gambas Al Ajillo were both great. I was looking forward to the Queso Y Chorizo the most, but sadly, it was our least favourite. The dish itself was a lot less flavourful compared to the previous ones. Our server was very attentive and walked us through each dish. After tip and tax, our total for two people came to $100 for the four dishes. Overall, 4.5 stars to be exact (I wish google gave the options for .5 scores)
The food was absolutely delicious. We went for appetizers and drinks. We had the tuna poke nachos, patata bravas, avocado tartare and more. They were able to accommodate our dietary needs and had such a wide variety of vegan options! We were impressed by the water lily, Japanese, and tango iced tea cocktails. The touch of taro on the rim was unique and a highlight! Would definitely recommend, but keep in mind quite a pricey dinner option
Nice restaurant with good food, but nothing particularly special. It has a pleasant terrace, though be aware that the bugs can be relentless, which is, of course, beyond the restaurant's control. I enjoyed the tapas-style food, though the prices are not cheap. Vegetarian options available. Street parking is available.
One of the few places in Kingstom thats actually worth going to. It has it all. Food is incredible and unique with some halal options for my wife. Atmosphere is great and not over crowded. And the service is always top notch. I cannot wait to go back, worth every penny, I dont know how they do it. Dietary restrictions: Some options are Halal, just ask. I know the lamb is.
The fact that the menu is so varied, and so consistently great is the real achievement at this incredible restaurant. My only complaint is that they replaced the pomegranate from the avocado tartare with tomatoes. :(
Sea food was cooked perfectly
Dietary restrictions: Lots of Celiac friendly options. Absolutely love TN! Food
Really exceptional food served tapas style. Everything was A+, except the cod, which was still good but came on the heels of such fabulous otger dishes, it simply couldnt compare. Our server was efficient and friendly.
Very nice food,smaller portions.
Great place to eat. Customer service was fantastic. The food was even better!
Tango is an absolute gem! The staff? Total pros friendly, fun, and full of fantastic recommendations. The food? Out-of-this-world delicious. The cocktails? Pure magic in a glass. The atmosphere? A perfect blend of lively and cozy. We let the staff guide our choices, and wow, they nailed it. Every bite was a delight! Can t wait to come back for round two (and maybe three, four, and five)!
Over the past year, Ive visited Tango several times--with my boyfriend, a friend, and a group of colleagues--and every single time, I order the Tuna Tartare. Its absolutely amazing! Though its meant for sharing, I could easily polish it off on my own. Another highlight is their espresso martinis, hands down the best in the city. The atmosphere is charmingly low-key and quaint, with a touch of rustic flair. While the service can be a bit slow during busy times, the overall experience is well worth it!
I absolutely love this place, outstanding food! Highly recommend!!! Vegetarian options: The vegi empanadas are sooo good
I found this restaurant very popular from review and decided to try. The foods are really surprising me. Love them. And service is also quick. Strongly recommend Foie gras bread, Mediterranean eggplant, thin slide steak and grilled octopus.
Wonderful restaurant! Ordered many dishes but my favorite one is grilled zucchini. Never had zucchini cooked like this before, so juicy and tasty! The baked beans just add a flavor of smoke to it.
Great food, well above Ontario average. Server talked funny; as in used we weirdly and asked obvious questions. I wonder if that was just that individual or is this the way they are told to act (pretentious or fancy). Would have felt more natural had they spoken like a human. Ambiance was good. A little dark for my weak eyes. Wed go again.
Weve been to the private dining room at least 3 times. Excellent staff, excellent food, and great pricing. So many choices of great food and different tastes that you will not find anywhere else. We will be back with our Pajamas and Tiaras.
This is a fine restaurant with great food that is downtown. A must visit if you are visiting Kingston. Exellent Tapas and salads if that is what your looking for. The staff are nice and the food is awesome. Has a very welcoming decore as well. You just need to visit this restaurant when possible.
Although the food was good, I wouldn t say it s worth it. It wasn t anything special or something I d go back for. Portions are really really small for the cost. The staff were nice and the vibe of the restaurant was lovely.
Fine food and friendly service. Gladly again.
We come here every year or two for our anniversary. The atmosphere is awesome. Vintage atmosphere with gourmet Mexican tapas. Drinks are delicious. The good and drinks are not cheap but it definitely an experience.
I came here before, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and casual, but the front-of-house service we received on Nov. 14 was so disappointing that I would not return. The restaurant needs to be professionally managed. I am sad to say it destroyed my graduation night experience. We made a reservation a week in advance, hoping to avoid the experience we ended up having. We arrived 10 minutes earlier; we were told to wait outside the restaurant on the street as our table was not ready. The people sitting at our table were lingering and having fun. Other tables were available, and a couple of seats were available at the bar, but we didnt question, so we went for a walk to kill time. We were starving, though. We came back half an hour later to give them time. The people were still at the table, other tables were still available, and we were told we needed to wait another 25 to 30 minutes outside again. When I started to get upset, I was offered the 4 seats at our designated table next to the party of 6 who were still having fun at the end of their meals. It felt like we were crashing someone elses party. By that time, it had been one full hour since we arrived, for a time we had booked one week in advance. They offered us a table at their sisters restaurant, where the food was good, but the restaurant needed to be more staffed and the service faster. It took one hour for the first dish, the oysters, to arrive, and then tapas slowly came one by one. I hope the managers of both restaurants will look into how to streamline greetings and customer seating. By comparison, we dined at the Royal Hotel in Picton, and they were gracious in managing the competing priorities (we had to leave the table by a particular time). The food was delicious, too, and the design was spectacular.
Always great food and service.
Bartender Carolyn was amazing. Old fashions are the best. Service
It was a fantastic experience! Every dish was outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect. The servers were attentive and helpful. Thank you for an amazing dinner!
These tapas are delicious and fun! One of the best in Kingston. Food
its good but not worth the price
Super fine tapas. But quality has its price. Service was very friendly and the ambience was also great.
Different food made with a flare for tapas style dishes. Service was patchy, and the fixtures are aged and shabby.
Very good, it is indeed a store that XHS strongly recommends: 1. Foie gras bread, topped with jam, sweet but not greasy; 2. The scallops taste great, there are three of them normally, you can spend extra money to add; 3. The main tacos in Mexican cuisine: There are two highly recommended by xhs, one is lamb with round tortillas, and the other is normal and crispy. All delicious. The only drawback is that the portions are small, so there are at least 6 dishes for four people with the elderly and children.
Always have a good time at Tango, menu isnt always to my taste but changes frequently, quality is always there regardless. The only thing that bothers me is that the only still water they had was tap water, not quite right for a restaurant of this caliber. Edit: The water is filtered, it tasted good at my last visit and at the sister restaurant so Im not sure what happened when I had the chlorine water experience, that was a few years ago though. Usual spend for a table of 3 with drinks is about $400 leaving full and jolly.
I have been here multiple times, clearly I enjoy it because I keep coming back! If you have room for dessert try the knafeh, you won t be disappointed!
E.g. Sautéed Green Beans with eight (!!!) ingrediants - just sensational. Thank you for this experience!
This place serves the finest and one of the tastiest cuisines in all of kingston. Everything is flavourful and very well marinated/seasoned. One dish I would recommend is the avocado taretare
Busty, sat on the patio with the heaters to move up our reservation. The staff was fun and helpful, the mushroom Bao, mussels, cod and meat balls were amazing.
Was so so so delicious
Excellent place to enjoy yourself in a cozy atmosphere. Large spaces for entertaining groups. Fast and efficient service. Very friendly staff
Food was great. Was happy to have good vegetarian options. Serve was good and atmosphere as relaxed. Food
One of my favourite restaurants. I have eaten here a few times now and it s still as good every single time. Each item on the menu has been thought out to have a great balance of flavour and the service is always exceptional.
Definitely a big big surprise! The most memorable meal I had since... Copenhagen this summer! As good as that one, period. Great job, TN!
Awesome food! Great variety, even for Vegetarians! Vegetarian options: The avocado and the fattosh are excellent options Food : 5/5 |
Fantastic dinner! Food out of ordinary very tasty! Very good and attentive service with Nell! We couldn t expect more from a tapas restaurant Food : 5/5 |
Absolute joke . Three scallops for $28 ! IKEA style meatballs 4pcs for $22 ! This is pathetic, why people ever recommend this place? Food : 1/5
Amazing service!! Amazing Food!!
We enjoy the food at Tango Nuevo and have eaten there twice. The dishes are beautiful and full of flavor especially the ribs and scallops. Knowing how busy it gets we walked over and made an in person reservation Aug 7th and when we showed up at the correct time there was no record of said reservation although thankfully they squeezed us in.
The service is fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The food is good, but it s expensive for the portion sizes.
Amazing food, great service, and a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Came here for our wedding anniversary. The food was phenomenal and we had excellent service from Taylor at the bar. Definitely a spot we want to come back to.
Always one of our favorite stops in Kingston! Great tapas. Excellent service. Well be back!
What a beautiful trip!! We went through Peru, Thailand, North Africa, Greece, Spain, France, Iran and more I forget!!. In terms of cuisine, its rare to offer such an a la carte fusion and... success. the seasonings are to die for. absolutely everything was great with some wonderful dishes like the watermelon salad, the scallops with pistachio and what about the lamb tacos with pomegranate. In short, a marvel. Quantity wise you have to be careful: at the start of the service they strongly emphasize that the tapas are in small quantities and you have to order several, 3 per head is the recommendation, which seemed normal to us. but the quantities are not that small!! we had ordered 9 meals, halfway through the meal we canceled the 9th (too late to cancel the 7th and 8th) and we left almost everything from the 7th and 8th. 6 would have been enough for a very good meal. The service was the same; available and above all useful and helping. The only criticism I would make of this restaurant is that the table setting but especially the sound level of the music (deafening at the start of the evening) are those of a trendy bar... which contrasts sharply with the finesse from the kitchen. Despite a noise level bordering on acceptable (I couldnt hear my wife who was sitting opposite me who had to shout to speak), I cannot give it less than 5 given the exceptional finesse of the cuisine .
Well done.
Incredible food and really great service. We had Grand Margs which were delicious and would highly recommend the lamb tacos.
Wonderful food. Great patio. Excellent service. We had a wonderful leisurely lunch. The patio was shaded which was perfect on a hot sunny day. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed sharing multiple dishes. Our favourites were the meatballs and the octopus.
We loved this place, they accomodate our gluten, soy and dairy intolerance. Food was delicious and the server was very helpful, thoughtful and kind.A+
Really delicious food and exceptional service!
The Tango has been my favourite restaurant since it opened. We are seniors at risk so we only dine on patios these days. I have dined on the patio at Tango for years. As I make the trip into town especiallly for dinner I cannot risk not having a reservation. Today I called for a patio reservation and was told no reservations for the patio only first come first served. We advised this is a first and she said it might rain and we can reserve inside dining. We asked for an exception and she said no without reason. Not much class here anymore it seems. Why did this policy change? Very disappointing indeed. We went to Tango very early on a weekday to ensure we got a patio table. The food was not what it used to be. The high bar chair was so uncomfortable lol it was difficult to actually enjoy our dining experience. Tango, you were our absolute fav but we are now over you and will not be back.
The food was good but too expensive for what they offer. Drinks with very little alcohol.
The food was good and the service was nice, but the prices are on the high side because the tapas come on small plates and you have to order several per person to get full.
went for lunch. way overpriced for the portions, dining area had a fly buzzing around. taste wise nothing special. the AAA beef does not seem to be worth it
Great place for Tapas. Nice welcome, 5 service from the barmaid, water on arrival, always appreciated. The tapas are excellent, I suggest the charcuterie and cheese board to start.
The tapas dishes were generally very good. Sadly our server didnt have the best people skills, he tried to push us towards ordering 3 dishes per person when just under 2 dishes pp turned-out to be plenty; there was some sort of miscommunication regarding our dish selection (the music was really loud, mistakes can happen etc) but the chap was really off - put a bit of a dampener on the experience which the management didnt seem to acknowledge either. Nice local wine. Buzzing atmosphere. Focusing on the food: good but significantly overpriced when compared with similar eateries in Toronto & Calgary.
Absolutely phenomenal food and service. My husband and I went for the first time and we were blown away. Atmosphere was welcoming, menu was reviewed for us along with some recommendations which turned out to be fantastic. Officially our new go to restaurant.
Likely not a good place to go with kids (no kids menu) and not a good place for a birthday party. Some of the staff were very good and some were downright rude. The salads were excellent. The various sauces were quite tasty but the cod, octopus and shrimp were of poor quality and not close to fresh. The prices were WAY too high for what you get and while this is typical of tapis, this restaurant had over the top prices for a typical meal. I had a speaker for music right in my ear and when I asked one of the servers if it could be turned down, I heard her commenting to one of her co-workers who does he think he is?. I wont return. Kid-friendliness: NOT kid friendly.
I wouldn t say it s the best restaurant for the price. Food is very small portions so even if you eat three or four items from the menu expect to be not full. Overall it was meh.
Past visit on Valentines. Went for the atmosphere which was lovely, not a fan of tapas myself so it was as good as it gets for me. Cool place
This is a regular spot for us when we are in kingston and the Fois Gras is 75% of the reason we come! It is absolutely magical!!! #nevertakethisoffthemenu
Almost everything we got here was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection with chimi churi
I really like the food. I don t think you ll find better in Kingston. The ambiance and the decor is nice. The service is average: table was sticky, and has to call a few times for attention. The bees making sitting outside difficult.
Really creative tapas restaurant with a lot of unique dishes to choose from. Staff was great and attentive. The talas came out individually so we were not crowded or rushed. Mixed drinks were very good. Nice size tapas dishes, each had enough to share with two people. Plus they had a nice selection of desserts. We were able to eat outside on a very nice Summer evening. You could easily go there two nights and not have the same dishes and be very satisfied.
Went on a busy Friday night on labour day weekend. Food and service was very good. Food taste was exceptional. Very creative tapas. May seem expensive for some but as a Chef I can see its value in care, presentation, variety and spot on authentic world flavours. Thanks Alex for the attentive service
Yummy tapas Many of their dishes are great Food
This is a super good restaurant, all the dishes are fantastic. The spicy sambal shrimp is the best and must order. I ve recommended to my friends.
The service was excellent! Food was sublime (lamb tacos et al.) And the relaxed atmosphere was perfect (although we did have the private room. Great spot highly recommend. Food
We came to this restaurant with high hopes for our anniversary, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. My meal arrived quite late, and my partners food had already been served. The server came three times while we were still looking at the menu, but then didnt check on us once after my meal was delayed. The scallops arrived very late and left a bad taste in my mouth. However, we did enjoy the place and its atmosphere..
When considering a gathering, Tango is an appealing choice due to its diverse menu, pleasant atmosphere, and consistently excellent service.
Had dinner here July 2, 2024. Great seats on the patio, although a little disappointed that you can t reserve a seat in advance, and have to rely on luck. Our server Andrew was absolutely outstanding! Great personality, prompt service and very friendly.
Got a late night meal with a group of friends when visiting Kingston. The food is small plate sharing, tapas style, with some excellent options for vegetarians, vegan, pescatarian and carnivores. The extensive menu was hard to navigate with so many options that we wanted to try so we asked the server to bring us good food and they brought us several dishes we may not have ordered otherwise. Each item was excellent, the amount per plate was enough for 3-4 people to share and the breadth of the menu meant we had something for everyone.
The food extend beyond the expectations. We were here for my wife s birthday and ordered 5 different dishes. All were satisfying.
Visiting from out of town, would drive 2 hours again just to go here. Went with 8 other people so was fun to try everything. Incredible food.
Delightful meal
A bit loud... food was great. Had the beet salad, ravioli, brussel sprouts, somethin in phyllo pastry and steak tacos. Delish!
Food is not bad, no service. I was here with my parents who don t speak English, feel deeply discriminated against. The gentleman at reception was nice. Food
Excellent place for a drink and tapas! Cocktails and ambience are superb. However a full stomach will come at a high cost
Our First Taste at Tango Nuevo. We arrived earlier than expected and the team graciously accommodated us what a great start! Our server (her name escapes us, sorry!) was an absolute gem, guiding us with fantastic recommendations. We kicked things off with a charcuterie board featuring four delightful choices. Then came the main event: Achiote grilled chicken, tuna poke nachos, and grilled octopus pintxo. Every bite was perfection, with flavors that were tender, juicy, and oh-so-satisfying. Our server twisted our arms into ordering the Spanish churros, and boy, were we glad she did! They were divine. A couple of minor quibbles: the coffee didnt hit the mark and we wished they had Splenda. But those small details didn t overshadow an otherwise fantastic meal. Cant wait to return for another round of deliciousness!
*June 2024 Update* Unfortunately our last visit was vastly different from the first time we went a few years back. Im not sure if we caught them on the wrong night, new chef, what have you but we had to send back everything we ordered as it was absolutely no where close to as good as it was before. Everything was bland, and didnt taste fresh. The scallops we ordered (they arent even whole scallops, they are cut in half, so 3 scallops is actually just 1.5 of them, for $28), must have been cooked the day before and microwaved. Thankfully the meal was comped, but it was a shame as it was our Anniversary. We will not be returning. ---------------------------------------- Amazingly creative food selection! Im picky and there is enough for us to keep coming back and selecting new dishes each time. The scallops were disappointingly small and not very fresh, and the dishes that used the crispy wontons unfortunately were stale and not very crispy (I make them at home and you can leave them out for a long time before they would go as stale as these were). That said we were really pleased by the execution of the rest of the dishes. Get the churros, they were one of the best things Ive ever eaten.
Amazing place, outstanding food and drinks, the Foie Gras was stunning and one of the best dishes Ive had in years. Loved it.
The food was delicious, the servers were fun and good at their jobs, next time Im in Kingston for dinner itll be my go-to option. Vegetarian options: Decent vegetarian selection
The plates and drinks were all excellent. The watermelon fattoush and the Turkish ravioli were really special. The PEI mussels were also amazing.
Absolutely amazing food! Very happy to have discovered this place! Andrew was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, polite! Great service with a smile!
Delicious food and great service. Its a bit loud and the portions are small, but great other than that.
Loved EVERY bite!
Very tasty tapas full of good surprises. The IPA beer was a good idea as well. Service is very good. Will return again for sure
This is a quality dining experience. The chefs are dedicated to their craft. The menu is perfectly laid out and offers a variety and top quality. Dont miss out on this place! The ambiance is beautiful! They are the real deal for everything about going out and dining experience. There is a patio too. if you cant stay long the bar is very inviting with service that offers an amazing passion and desire for making creative and quality cocktails! They havent missed a beat! Two doors over is another two restaurants with same owner. So if you cant get a spot here walk two doors over and you will find the same quality, passion, dedication and quality dining experience!
The food was absolutely delicious but I want to shout out our server Maggie for going the extra mile and making sure our food allergies were accommodated for. If you re celiac or gluten free, I really recommend it. Stand out dishes were the cod, the steak, and the mushrooms but everything was so good!
Drop by this restaurant on our way to Montreal. It was one of the best decisions we made. The food was so good! The Tuna Poke nacho and Grilled Octopus were amazing! Highly recommend
I love this restaurant! The food is delicious and interesting and the service is excellent. The atmosphere both inside and on the patio is enjoyable. We live here in Kingston so we frequently dine in or do take out. It s a great spot to take out-of-town visitors! We recently had a slight problem with a take out order but that was quickly addressed by Pamela Furter, Manager. Thank you for that and we will be dining in again soon!
The best!
The waitress Cecilia was awesome! Very attentive to every detail. The food was an adventure in flavours. The ambiance was date night worthy. Definitely look forward to going there again.
Great experience the food was fantastic
Truly a superb address! The kitchen is top notch! As well as the service and the location. Dont hesitate
A great restaurant in Kingston where we enjoyed lunch on the terrace. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was great and prices reasonable. Food
Spectacular, cozy place, delicious food and outstanding attention. Five Stars
Love the decor and ambiance. The service was great(thank you Nicole!). The food tasted amazing. We ordered the: scallops(9/10, very fresh, perfectly cooked, the puree was a bit sweeter than expected), lamb tacos(10/10, zero gameyness), Asian ribs(10/10, the glaze was amazing and it was so tender, nice and sweet), the chili oil aioli potatoes(7/10, the outside was super crispy and the aioli was nice and light, I think the potatoes were a little thick and the inside was good texture but it tasted a little bland so smaller pieces would be even better?). Dessert was lava cake(12/10, perfect balance of sweetness and richness, complimented well with the tart raspberry coulis). Some plates were a bit pricey for the portion size, even for tapas to be fair.
Overall a good experience. Ordered about 10 dishes, some were hit and miss, the eggplant and potatos were very good, steak was a bit too well done. Service is not fast when the place is busy, took a while to even get the drinks. Would definitely come back and try other dishes on the menu.
The best restaurant we tried in Kingston! Server was super nice and knows what she was doing! Everything was extreamly tasty but I would pass the brussel sprout dish personally. We will defenitely go back again!
Great food! Must have a try.
An excellent tapa restaurant in downtown Kingston.
Fantastic little spot for extraordinary food, warm, accommodating service, and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. A wonderful menu with an array of intriguing dishes. So much to savour and enjoy! Vegetarian options: Excellent selection of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: They will happily will accommodate any dietary needs, menu modifications and taste preferences
Ive been wanting to try this Kingston staple for a while and now that I am no longer a broke college student, I finally have - and it did not disappoint! My personal favourite dishes were the Foie Gras Pinxto, the Butternut Squash and the Scallops. My friends favourite was the Persian Lamb Tacos, but honestly there were no misses with any of the dishes. The least exciting dish was the Patatas Bravas and even those were friend perfectly. I highly recommend ending with the Künefe for dessert, which was both unique and delicious. The food is 100% worth the extra splurge (because you will want to order everything on the menu). Plus, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual and our server was super friendly and helpful. Bonus is that they have an extensive zero proof cocktail list which I really appreciate!
I cant say enough good things about the food and the service at this restaurant. We were given very good vegetarian recommendations by the server. We ordered Avocado Tartare (5/5), Mediterranean Eggplant (5/5), Tofu Bao Buns (5/5), Kale Salad (4/5), Thai Curry Cod (5/5)- the chef made it vegetarian on request and it turned out so good; just have it on spicier side if you can handle the spice, Veg Empanadas (1/5)- very blend and almost after eating other items; this had lack of flavours. All the other items has a burst of flavours which felt like just wow . Lastly, we ended with Tiramisu (5/5) which was very delicious. Definitely recommended for vegetarians. There are good non veg options too on the menu.
Excellent service. The portion sizes are small but they are done extremely well.
Absolutely delightful experience at Tango Nuevo in Kingston, Ontario! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The ambiance was charming, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Overall, Tango Nuevo exceeded our expectations in every way. Its evident that the team here is passionate about what they do, and it truly reflects in every aspect of the dining experience. Whether youre a local or just passing through Kingston, I highly recommend stopping by for a meal thats sure to leave a lasting impression!
We had one of the best salads of our life here, the heritage green salad. It was amazing, and yet so simple. Just made so delicately. Plus the staff here was amazing, and really helpful. We also liked the cocktails we ordered, although I forget the names.
Great food, great service... And we were 10!!, great ambience! We all loved it!
The food is of small portions but all taste amazing, especially the scallops which are fresh, juicy and seasoned perfectly
The Thai curry cod and ravioli were my favourite if the tapas we shared. I highly recommend the curry - such a delicious dish but everything we ordered was great!
Delicious food, fantastic service and wonderful atmosphere
The best food Ive had recently was here. a proactive team and great ambience. Congratulations.
Everything was amazing! Flavours, service, vibe.
Good food. Tapas only. Kinda overpriced. Vegetarian options: Good selection Food : 4/5 |
Very cute place. Food was ok. The dishes were AMAZING
Its a perfect date spot. Its a Romantic atmosphere and excellent staff. Clean bathroom which is important.
The waitress really helped with the menu selections! Bar was very noisy behind us. Will be back for the green beans and thw Brussel Sprouts
Always a good experience- friendly staff, excellent food, and relaxing atmosphere (tip- table 1 is the best in the house). Tapas portions have been reduced over the years and the cost has gone up, but it s not surprising considering the economy. Lots of yummy cocktails to choose from!
Having spent the last two decades visiting Barcelona and Madrid each spring to immerse myself in the rich Spanish and Catalan cultures, dining at Tango Nuevo in Kingston was like being transported back to those vibrant streets. This charming wine bar and tapas bistro captured the essence of Spain with its authentic atmosphere and culinary delights. Our party of six ventured through virtually the entire menu, each dish proving to be stellar in its own right. From the ambiance to the exquisite flavors, Tango Nuevo provided an experience reminiscent of my cherished trips abroad. The establishments cozy size adds to its appeal, creating an intimate dining experience that I wholeheartedly recommend. However, due to its popularity and limited seating, I advise making reservations in advance. Tango Nuevo is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the true taste of Spain and Catalonia right here in Kingston.
We visited Kingston for the first time and were told by numerous people on the West coast to come here. They did not disappoint! Food and service were amazing. We loved our server as well.
This is our second visit here and my wife has decided that this is her favourite restaurant in Kingston, which I fully endorse. The food is delicious and unique. Our server Cecile was knowledgeable and engaging. For dessert, try the Künefe, a unique taste that is other worldly.
One of the coolest places !!! That little room downstairs is awesome they called the bodega the food was awesome ! Amazing food presentation!
Absolutely loves turkish ravioli and Persian lamb tacos. Bit of time for food to be served but its worth the wait.
Best romantic restaurant in Kingston, everything amazing.
Great Tapas place in Kingston
Amazing atmosphere and food. The bartender makes great suggestions and so does the staff with food choices. Its a great place to pop in and have a drink or to dine in. Love the vibe! Food
A perfect place for date night or to share a meal with friends. The food is excellent and perfect for sharing. They also have a large selection of interesting and fun non-alcoholic beverages. The tuna poke nachos are a must try!
Very Nice I really like the octopus and the spicy shrimp. The steak was nice too
So, the Wife and I went at 5:30pm no reservations on a friday. Got a seat no problem. Server (I didnt catch there name) was great, present but not hovering. Service was quick. Food was amazing, sharable dishes. Came out in an amazing order. Highly recommend the turkish ravioli, order 2 plates of it, really good.
Probably one of the best experiences I ve had at a restaurant. We had a large group of 10, and we sampled tons of tapas, everything we tried tasted amazing. The staff was pleasant and helpful and a true blessing. I heard this was a staple to the downtown of Kingston and it lived up to its name
Outstanding for years. Kingston has many great restaurants, one or two may be as good, but none is better.
Good western fusion food. The sliced sirloin steak was the highlight; juicy with great complementing sauce. Scallops was seared to perfection.
Tuna poke nachos are what dreams are made of. Crispy wonton chips, fresh and colourful tuna pieces, exactly the right amount of Thai peppers, fresh green onion, avocado crema and togarashi. Truly a thing of beauty. The service is amazing too!
Great ambiance, tuna tataki is absolutely delicious.
Highly Recommend to everyone who loves Spanish food. Super fresh ingredients, well balanced flavors, amazing textures, plus great service , lovely decro their daily feature is definitely a must try , me and my friend we tired pork belly, omg hands down the smoothest texture we ever had, you can feel the fatty meat melting in your mouth, all the flavors just burst into ur head. Lol overall a very good experience, definitely will come back and try more.
The best dish was the kale salad.
Very good service food and atmosphere. Only negative was food was a bit pricey with it being such small portions.
Luckily had a reservation as it was full when we got there. Everything was delicious except the octopus. It was overdone and chewy so we sent it back. Meg comped us a desert and we left with a smile
Always a great experience here. Food is fantastic and definitely worth a try.
We loved everything about this place!
Top 10 place
This was by far, one of the best restaurants Ive had the pleasure of dining in, the Tapas were delicious, the flavours compliment each other so well, and the charcuterie board options were phenomenal. Vegetarian options: There were all types of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: None, they were accommodating to both, me and my girlfriends allergies. Parking: You have to find parking 2 blocks over Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere isnt very youthful, the theme is 1930-1950s style Hollywood glam, so its not for children.
It was one of the most wonderful experiences. Our server was amazing and answered all of our questions. The food was absolutely amazing..
Amazing. Food is unique and top notch. Always enjoy this place.
One of my favourite places to eat in Kingston! Worth the price.
Weird service night - they told us when we walked in that we must be done by 815 after pushing our Rez back to 630 was super weird. The food was good though
Every time they do better an amazing restaurant
Its a good place located in downtown Kingston. It serves some good authentic mexican and latin American dishes. Serves wine too. Portion size is not big but good for two. Avocado tartare was wow and so was thai curry cod fish with olive and basil sauce
This is our day trip to Kingston. This restaurant really makes our day, of course. The plates for sharing are not enough. But the food quality and the ingredient combinations are just perfect. Definitely recommend this restaurant, I would prefer to do this as an early dinner, there would be more spaces.
Wow. Stopped in for a solo dinner while in town for work. The cocktail (something negroni sour) was amazing. The Foie Gras app was easily a top 5 thing Ive ever eaten. Finished with the Persian lamb tacos, which delivered everything exactly as promised! While the 4 item bill (also had a pint) was 90 +tip, it was absolutely worth it.
I visited Tango Nuevo with a couple of friends and we got about 2/3 dishes each and the food was absolutely amazing!! The service however needs some improvements.
Nice place and good food. But.... I hate when eating places are breaking the law when adding the tip automatically to the bill. Im still considering submitting a official complain to Consumer Services. Bill 81, Elimination of Automatic Tips Act, 2010 - 2. (1) No person who owns or operates an eating establishment shall charge any customer an automatic service charge, regardless of whether notice of the service charge is provided in advance. (2) This Act does not apply to private functions or banquets. 3.
We had a great evening at Tango Neuvo with our server David. Wonderful food, wonderful service. We had the carne picante, su pastry and achiote chicken - absolutely delicious! David was an amazing server, very attentive and personable. We would definitely recommend and will return.
Though for the portions, the prices are a tad high, the food was delicious and the service incredible. The bartender was particularly friendly and helpful when it came to local beer and specific tapas recommendations. The lamb tacos were packed with flavour and texture...and were fun to build. Who would think of putting pickles on a taco!?
On a recent trip to Kingston, visited Tango Nuevo for lunch on a Saturday. The drinks were excellent. Great food and atmosphere. The downtown Kingston location was very nice for walking around before and after lunch. Also, for such a high end establishment, the restaurant was surprisingly kid friendly. A high chair was provided for my son, food recommendations were made. And there were several other families with small children as well. Overall, an amazing experience.
Cute date place
Delicious food, really cool atmosphere and super helpful staff. Highly recommended!
Best restaurant in Kingston! Food is always on point and sitting at the bar is fun.
Its a tapas restau-bar in the heart of kingston with a great patio street view. They serve phenomenal food in small portions but the food is so flavorsome that you cant stop trying all tapas variety. Its a really busy place on the street and reserve a table if you are visiting on weekends. Definitely going back for another superb dining experience.
Definitely way too expensive but delicious. We had a party of 8 and all of our dishes were excellent, warm and arrived quickly. Drinks were also too expensive but tasted great!!
Great place with tasty food, amazing drinks, and just perfect atmosphere.
Excellent food and service.
If youre looking to have an international culinary experience... You are definitely coming to the right place.
The food does not worth the price
