Dine in and take out
These are my favourite Vietnamese spring rolls (cha gio). They're basically the same ones I remember from Chez Piggy in the '80s, and I was told that some kitchen staff from there started this place in the '90s. I've been getting these delicacies at this (rather basic) location ever since! Everything on the menu, that I've tried, is good: Soups, stir fries, noodle and rice bowls. But these spring rolls are what draw me here every time I visit my hometown.
Nice atmosphere but food is worst. This is not Vietnamese food. I ordered Hu Tieu and it is just Pho noodle in the soup with some shrimps, no vegetables and no taste, the bean spouts are 4 days old. I asked and the chef is not Vietnamese and nobody speak Vietnamese.
This place has the best spring rolls in Kingston! The food is always fresh and flavorful. Never disappoints!
I loved this restaurant, its food, and the service! everything was top notch. i got the vermicelli bowl with chicken, and it was amazing! the spring rolls were the highlight for me; they were so crisp, full of flavour, and so fresh! highly recommend this place. you have to try their vermicelli bowls! Will definitely go back for Pho.
A classic for Pho in Kingston going back to my university days. Truly my "entry drug" for Vietnamese cuisine. Standard, service, and vibe hasn't change a bit over the years. They have finally updated their menus though - clean and simple with photos and numbers. Something for everyone. Can't go wrong with a #1 & a #4. Heads-up Cash or credit, but they DO NOT take AMEX.
I have walked by this place for 4 years without going in and I regret it! This small Vietnamese restraunt has a collection of amazing dishes. In particular I was impressed by the number of options without pork/beef! I had the #2, it was very flavourful and filling. The Staff was very kind and attentive. They even let us stay a bit past closing. Overall a great place, that is fairly priced, and has options for many. Would recommend to check this place out!
A small family place with real Vietnamese food. The soup was great, good spring rolls and another traditional dish with shrimps that we loved. Prices are reasonable.
The restaurant is right across the street at the downtown bus transfer point. Although I’m limited in my experience it was the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. On my first visit I had the Bún Cha Giò Thit Nuong. The included spring rolls were delicious. On my second trip I had the Com Thit Nuong Dâu Phong. Both were recommended signature dishes which did not disappoint. 5/5 Food.
Very comfortable and delicious
Well priced and absolutely delicious! One of my favourite restaurants in Kingston.
Their presentation and food was amazing! I get the noodles and chicken dish in so many cities It was even better than in Ottawa or Toronto Food
The 6 of us came to Toronto for the first time. After encountering good taste and good service, I will come again!!
Tasted the same as 30years ago
The food was delicious and the waitress was very kind and friendly. Highly recommend!
I forgot to take photos but the spring rolls are really good
Worst service tonight. Food was not much better. Its really gone downhill
Incredible food, very friendly staff. My favorite dish in all of Kingston definitely has to be the #2. All of the locations are good, but the Bagot location is ALWAYS the best. Definitely stop in if you want to try a phenomenal comfort soup.
Always a delight to eat here. Very clean restaurant, great service. Food is cooked fresh and so delicious.
menu No 2 Very Very Good
Excellent food for a great price! The staff is always very friendly as well!
We always get off the 401 just to hit out favourite spot
Very delicous food, they have the best spring rolls. The staff is very nice as well
2024 Update: Bun Cha Gia Thit Nuong is as good as it always has been... and now my #6 with pork costs $18 ... 170% markup over the past 15 years. Scary. 2020: Saigon Delights or just Saigon if you are in the know, is and always has been the best Vietnamese in Kingston for the longest time, since I was a kid. Every time I am back in Kingston to visit I make sure I stop in for a bite. I am taking one star off because unfortunately, the exact same dish I have been getting for well over a decade has shot up in prices astronomically (#6 with pork). Double the price of what it was 5 years ago or so. $7 for som Bun, now it s about $15... I get that prices go up throughout time but the fact that this bun cha gio thit nuong has doubled in price is a little bit nuts. Seems less busy than it used to be, probably because of the irrationally high prices. A shame. Great food still, just hard to justify spending nearly $20 for a bowl of rice noodles with vegetables. Best spring rolls ever though.
Friendly staff with nice and hot pho.
Number six with chicken is perfection.
James provided me with exceptional service, making my experience with this business as a whole truly unforgettable. His helpfulness and professionalism set a high bar for service that far exceeded my expectations.
this place had great food and amazing service! Our waitress was so kind and helpful and went above and beyond for us <3 two of us got the #6 and the #2 both were great and the spring rolls were very crispy and well made. overall great experience with a great price.
Delicious and very nice staff!!
This place is horrible. I ordered a chicken dish and it came with heated up cooked chicken with no cooling sauce or marinade. The Vietnamese coffee was a joke. Cheap, weak coffee.Avoid this place. They don t know what they are doing.
Had lunch at the downtown (Bagot Street) location with 2 friends. We ordered #1, #6, and #7. #6 was the agreed best of the three. However, the other 2 dishes were very good. The red curry is a medium spice level (a nice heat with favour). The service was fast (considering it was busy), we ordered and had our food within 10 mins. The restaurant is not very appealing, looks run down but it seems to be clean (again its a busy place). We will definitely return.
Great place
Excellent food, and very fast service.
Bagot street location - #6 pork is a favorite! Service always pleasant :) Wheelchair accessibility: Bagot street location is not wheelchair accessible.
Happy to ring in the new year with Saigon now that they have reopened! Had to start with #14, but everything on the menu is delicious. You cant go wrong.
I have been going to the various locations of Saigon Delight for many years. The portion size(s) are fine. Customer service is friendly. Prices are up - disappointing, but not surprising - inflation is happening everywhere. There is lack of consistency with the quality of the dishes at each location. Sometimes, the #11 - Hu Tiêú Xào - is good and other times, like today the rice noddles are mushy and gross. The sauce that doesn t leak in the bag is inconsistent in quality, as well. A few times, the Spring Rolls have been overdone and hard. Think it s time to give other places a try.
I live off the number 5 with chicken.
Been getting the same dish here for over 15 years (#11). Quality has never changed, always excellent and super yummy! Staff are friendly and fast.
Best Vietnamese food in Kingston (Bagot location). Havent eating in restaurant since before the pandemic (explaining 4 star atmosphere) but you cant beat the #6 with chicken, pork, or shrimp!
Parking: Downtown parking and only city buses allowed to park on street infront of the restaurant Food
This place has a soft spot in my heart Ive eaten here for years and I like to think of it as my little Kingston secret. Food quality 7 years ago is the same. Very good food making you feel perfectly full but not stuffed. Thank you for the great food Parking: If you park on the street after 6:30 you get free parking.
There must be drugs in their food because it s addictive! So much flavour without grease. Generous portions and very much worth the money!!
My favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Discovered it 25 years ago while studying at Queens. Thankfully, they havent changed my favorite #13 and I love their crispy springrolls. I now live in Quebec city and every year I plan a visit in Kingston and make sure to eat at this place
Saigon Delights 8.5/10 Saigon delights is overall the best Vietnamese restaurant weve tried in Kingston! This family-owned business makes their menu items from scratch, which is reflected in the deliciousness of their food. They were friendly and service was exceptionally fast. The cute design in the sauce (last slide) was a nice touch too! Their Bagot location is right at the downtown transfer point, making it an easy place to stop by when youre looking for something to eat around campus. Definitely worth a stop by! What we got: Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong with Pork - $15.04 Pho - $14.15 **Follow @smfoodd on Instagram for more!
The pho soup was just warm and tasted okay. I wish there were more varieties of phos.
One has to rethink why one goes to a restaurant. If I can make the same thing for less price in my kitchen, why go and eat out ...
Good !
Saigon Delights Slaps
Quite possibly some of the best food Ive ever had. Vegetarian options: Menu has vegetarian options. Parking: Underground parking next to location, its pretty cheap.
A fave place. Food is fantastic
Best banh xeo in town. Get in early to get one before they sell out!
This is my favourite place in Kingston. When I come to visit, this is my first stop and I take to-go food with me too. The spring rolls are addictive. Everything is fresh and just insanely good. Quality never disappoints and they re very kind. Prices are great and portions are generous. Don t skip over this gem!
Always great
I have enjoyed this restaurant for several years. The food is fresh and nice servings. Prices are very good. Service is very good. Vegetarian options: Several options for vegetarian meals.
The #6 is a standard staple in my diet. Its delicious and clean eating. Good value and nutrition for what you pay.
Every time Im in Kingston, I look forward to having a meal here. Delicious!
Worth the ride down from Almonte any time. Taste, size, cost and excellent service including masks and distancing. Thanks all!
the #6 pork combo is best!
Saigon Delights is as delightful as ever. A mainstay during my days at as a grad student, I commuted all the way from Montréal for a taste of nostalgia and it was everything I remembered it being. Quick, well-packaged for pick up, and on seeing we ordered four #6 and only three extra rolls, threw in a fourth so nobody would be left out. You can t beat that service. 10/10 would eat again. Thank you for the blast from the past which filled my heart and belly in equal measure
Was missing Vietnamese food and Saigon Delights satisfied me with a hearty bowl of pho and fresh vegetable rolls. Def coming again.
Best vermicelli bowl in town
Good place for vegetarian with tofu as option. The portions were huge for the price you pay.servers were really nice .
This place has gone downhill fast. The waiters lack basic social graces and skills.
Favourite place since I was 6, always ordering the #6
Delicious green and red curries. Pho was good but you can see little fat bubbles in the broth. Not 100% authentic. Staff speaks chinese not vietnamese. Good if you dont know what authentic pho tastes like.
Gluten free options, amazing lemongrass, that was gladly served even though we got there only 30 minutes before close.
fast friendly service, always fresh, always tasty, very authentic and generous portions. An all time favourite, the #6 with pork or shrimp. Thank you Saigon!
I ve been looking for a good bowl of pho in Kingston, and so far, the one at Saigon Delights takes the cake. The pho broth is well seasoned, and the portions of beef and noodles are generous. The Vietnamese spring rolls are also very good. Crispy, and fresh. I ll be back for some pho for sure.
best soup i have ever had in Kingston, and its ultra cheaaaap!
Noodle soup is good but others are so so.
Delicious
Saigon usually has high quality food but this place is just not the one I m expecting for. Ordered #2 which is supposed to have shrimp cake at side and it came out with really weird taste and smell with three aged shrimps and some chicken slices. Food came out not as the description (no cilantros onions on top, no shrimp cake) Spring rolls were tasted okay but you can clearly taste it s not freshly made
I absolutely love this place...simple menu and they are willing to add or remove items from your order...friendly staff and great food
Best in town
This place is really nothing special. I found the Pho quite bland, the broth tasted like boiled water, And the noodles were bland as well. The beef that was served with the pho has no flavor, the only element that added flavor was the cilantro provided in the broth. Also order a #9 as well, the rice was very watery along with the vegetables were bland and very very crunchy (which is acceptable). Over all, would really not return again unless nothing else s is open. 2 stars for effort.
Honestly, I liked it. Took dish #6 for takeout as everyone recommends. Turned out to be very tasty with chicken.
I ordered Pho, Vietnamese famous soup. When it came out, it didnt look like Pho, didnt smell like Pho, didnt taste like Pho at all. Why did they name Saigon Delight? Restaurant needs to update, look old and filty.... never come back.
Decent lunch menu
Good pho!
Excellent Pho soup!
Love Saigon Delights Bagot Street. My go to weekend takeout for almost 15 years.
Great food and fast service. Excellent place to get a fast lunch, or a more leisurely dinner with friends. The #16 coconut crepe with chicken and shrimp is my usual go-to but the #6 with pork is also excellent.
started to charge for tea.
The service was good, but the food was incredibly bland. I dont like spicy food, but the spicy here is regular elsewhere. Noodle dishes are also about 98% noodle.
Great soups!
Saigon Delights is a pleasant place to dine. They have an excellent selection of food; however, they leave much to be desired in terms of flavouring. The portions are decent. The pho soup is a good choice.
Fantastic.
Havent been in any other Vietnamese place before but i think the proce and food were great
Quick and delicious.
Tried Vietnamese for the first time after my Celiac diagnosis, and Saigon is still my favourite place to go for fast, affordable food
This is my go to place for Vietnamese noodles in Kingston. The flavor of the chicken/shrimp pho brings me back to days in Southeast Asia. The vermicelli bowls with spring rolls are also delicious and fresh. Then why the 3 star review? Im giving this review only 3 stars because the place is dirty as heck. I bring my kids to this place and they mess up the floors with noodles. When I go to clean it up afterwards, my napkin is literally black from the dirt and grime on the floor from years of neglect. The place also has this omnipresent musty wet rag smell to it. And dont get me started on the pink ring around the floor where the toilet brush sits. This restaurant hasnt been properly sanitized and cleaned for years. Its due for a major renovation. Disappointing as this place is in terms of cleanliness, their West end location is even worse. Ive eaten in places in worse conditions. But I dont really want to compare Southeast Asian standards with North American standards. Spend some money and get your act together. Until then, Ill probably still eat there since its the only place in Kingston to get any decent Asian food. The end.
This is my favourite Kingston restaurant. Hoa always has a smile and is attentive to your needs. The food is consistently excellent. I ve been coming here for 15 years
This branch much better than West side branch. Great service and pleasant staff and clean Place!!!
One of the mainstays of ethnic cuisine in the heart of Kingstons downtown... Theres a reason theyve been in business for over 25 years! Food is excellent!
Mekong is way better. Cheaper and more options.
I always enjoy what I get from here. Love the peanut sauce and their spring rolls.
Tasty food, friendly and quick service. Staff was able to answer, and clearly explain menu items. Generally, Vietnamese restaurants have very large and overwhelming menus. Saigon Delights is the exception. Small and consise menu, yet enough choices for everyone. Recommended for a quick, fresh and delicious lunch, or large snack.
Good food
Food is basic and not done well at all. The peanut sauce is pretty much just warmed up peanut butter and the pho is bland. They need to revitalize their menu and start using real ingredients in their meals. Kingston lacks a quality Pho restaurant which is disappointing. Staff seem attentive however need to approach customers more and actually wait on the tables, instead of having to be called over.
Good food, fast service
Yum! Fast, friendly service, reasonably priced and delicious
Great filling food!
Excellent food! Good, fast service. And very well priced. The portions are huge for what you pay for and its quality Vietnamese. Atmosphere is meh, but all the other things make up for that, so easily five stars.
Its ok, a little bland unless you add chilli sauce, and or fish sauce to the dishes.
Great place, great service and amazing food. The #6 is the best I ve had so far.
Food is very authentic.
Always amazing.
Watch out for the It looks like Im handing you $10 change, but its actually just one folded $5.
Weve been going to Saigon Delights for over 10 years, and the food is always up to the same excellent standard. Weve even made the trip from Ottawa just to eat here. Try the #6 with beef!
Been going here for 15 years, its very good.
Food was great, atmosphere was great and the service was great. Food is cooked fresh and is really tasty
Very good pho, with the garlic oil and noodle texture making it a winner.
Very delicious to eat..
Awesome food, cool space, large helpings. Will definitely be back.
The best Pho I ever had
Just awesome food and friendly staff
Not proper Vietnamese food.
#6 with shrimp. Always polite on the phone. Fast pick up times. Delicious food and a good price (~$15)
My favorite Vietnamese food in Kingston. My favorite is the #14, chicken on a bed of rice smothered in a hot peanut sauce. The portions are huge and the staff are friendly. The prices are also quite low ($14 to be fed fully) and it doesnt take long for the food to arrive at your table.
Great!!! Really awesome quality price restaurent
Casual, inexpensive, everything on the menu is good but the spring rolls are fantastic.
Perfect little casual lunch spot for decent Vietnamese.
Great food
Everytime Im in town the #6 hits the spot. Great food for a great price:)
Its a good spot to get phò downtown.
Great simple pho. Split a large bowl for lunch with my best girl and we were both full and happy!
Very good food.
so disappoint
Im sorry but this is the WORST foo ever.
God phõ, relaxed spot
this is our favorite place to eat when in Kingston, they are fast, the food is always excellent, large portions and delightful staff.
Amazing food and friendly staff. Our favourite dish is #6!
We ordered#1, 2, 4 and 6.. #2 ( chicken and shrimp noodle soup )and #6 ( egg rolls with grilled pork on bun ) are excellent.. #4 ( shrimp spring rolls ) is very good, but lack authentic sauce to dip.. #1 ( pho ) was ok, because it was bland.. Overall, this is a hidden gem, and were very happy with our meal here..
Food was OK. Have to spend at least $15 to use a card. Not happy about that as I had no cash.
Pretty good food, probably one of the better Viet places downtown.
Kinda meh. There are a lot of viet restaurants around this place doesnt compete well in price or quality or quantity.
This has been around for years and the food, particularly the Bun.
Best spring rolls ever. The banh xeo is excellent as well. I always return when I visit Kingston.
Wonderful place! #7 is the bomb with amazimg service! I always look forward to going!
Nice little local restaurant. Been open forever. My favourite is the number 6 with spring rolls, vietnamese noodles and a protein of your choice or not. Always fast, efficient service with a reasonable if not a bit pricey expense. Cash only under 15 bucks.
Nice service and all, but Atmosphere is bit off.. Alert! not a place for vegeterian or vegan crowd.
Great place to eat. Love going here!
