Sparrow is a fine casual neighborhood restaurant in Juanita neighborhood of Kirkland. As you enter the live moss walls and weathered finishes make you feel cozy and welcomed. Carefully curated dishes are so delicious that they will take you back to your grandmothers kitchen.
The food is good but, but the prices are high, the portions are small, and the service is slow. They also have a hidden credit card processing fee they don’t tell you about. I was shocked at how small their flourless chocolate cake was
We did the Thanksgiving dinner at Sparrow and it was absolutely wonderful. Our server, Michael, was amazing and attentive. The menu was a four course deal with four options for each course and everything was so good. We loved it so much we came back for brunch on Sunday. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food and service quality was truly exceptional, This is a must-try if you're searching for a great, intimate dinner place.I can’t wait to come back!
If I could give more than 5 ⭐️, I would! Our experience at this restaurant completely exceeded our expectations thanks to the stellar service, delectable food, and intimate dining atmosphere. Our order: 5 ⭐️ Extra Creamy Mac & Cheese 5 ⭐️ Sausage Eggplant Parmigiana 5 ⭐️ Guajillo Chicken 5 ⭐️ Hawaiian Swordfish 5 ⭐️ Crème Brulé 5 ⭐️ A Path In The Wild (Non-Alcoholic) 5 ⭐️ Basilton (Non- Alcoholic) What made this experience particularly special was the server’s outgoing enthusiasm in providing us with a photoshoot around the restaurant’s decorative walls. Thank you for making this a truly memorable evening!
Sparrow was pretty much what I expected—gorgeous space with a menu that’s all over the place. It’s American cuisine and it seems like they’re trying to please everyone, which makes the menu feel a bit disconnected. If you're craving tacos, tartare, marrow bone, and a burger all in one sitting, they’ve got you covered, but it doesn't really come together flavor-wise. The food is well plated. The ambiance is definitely the highlight, but the food was just okay, and the prices are on the high side—probably due to the location. The cocktails looked stunning, though the taste didn’t quite match the presentation. Overall, it’s more of a vibe spot than a food destination. It's a good place to take a date.
Amazing food and great service. Came at 6:30 on a Friday night with a reservation but could have just walked in.
The Sparrow is a cozy, modern brunch spot tucked away in a quiet location, offering a serene atmosphere for a relaxing meal. The service here was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff enhancing the overall experience. The food, while good, is on the pricier side for what it is. We tried the French toast and the biscuit. The French toast, though delicious, was a single piece and not very generous in portion. We were glad we ordered some additional sides to round out the meal. One of the highlights of The Sparrow is the ambiance. You have the option to sit in their lovely garden, which adds to the charm of the place. Overall, The Sparrow provides a pleasant dining experience with great service and a cozy atmosphere, though be prepared for slightly higher prices and smaller portions.
We went to Sparrow for the first time during Seattle restaurant week and had a great night there. They have a small parking lot on site but there is a commercial property right next to the restaurant and allows restaurant customers to park there after 5 PM on weekdays and all day on weekends so parking really isn’t a problem if you go there for dinner. Our server was Ryan and he was great, energetic, checking in us just the right amount. We ordered from the Seattle restaurant price fixed menu along with spicy guacamole from their regular menu. The food was good. Their price point is also just right so it was good value without sacrificing taste. I didn’t pay attention to their regular menu price to say if that is also true. Some improvements they could make in their food such as the sea scallops we had. It was a little overcooked and became a bit chewy. Overall I would say this is a great place to visit and we plan to visit again for brunch in the near future.
This was our first time at Sparrow! We absolutely enjoyed the wine selection and our food. Lamb tacos and burrata for apps and our dinner choices of the Fries chicken burger and the sausage rigatoni. Ryan our service was wonderful. We will be back!!
Definitely worth a visit! We are coming back.
Classy place with an awesome bar
Cute restaurant with lovely ambience! The food was amazing and the server was very accommodating and loving. Would definitely come again
Delish! We shared the guac and beignets. I got the squash noodle dish. It was really filling but didn t make me feel heavy. The waiter was really nice and attentive. The ambience is super cool, love the decor!
We went for brunch on a Sunday! Service was very warm and the food was delicious! We had crab and shrimp salad, avacado crab toast and my youngest had the kids waffles! Beautiful real maple syrup and whipped butter! The crab was fresh and ambience was moody and cozy for a rainy Sunday afternoon! Mocktails and cocktails were great! Loved that there was a designated parking lot and not having to search and search for parking! We sat in dining room because we had kids but bar looked awesome and they were playing all the Sunday nfl games! So fun!
Dinner was excellent, service was top tier
100% of my dining experiences here have been amazing. (More to come)
Traveled to the Seattle area for a Thanksgiving vacation and booked a prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner here. After we were seated, it took an hour and forty-five minutes to receive one cocktail and one bowl of soup (that was very clearly sitting under a heat lamp for a long time, as evidenced by the layer of film covering the soup and the ONE very brown, very small piece of lobster... in a bowl of lobster bisque). We left due to the egregious wait time, and they comped our cocktails and bowls of soup. It was evident that the waitstaff was very overwhelmed. To the owner, I suggest adequately staffing when it comes to a holiday. Its a disservice to your customers and your staff. I wouldve given this experience a one star, but the owner was kind enough to reach out and offer us a $100 gift card. I appreciate the effort to right the wrong. Unfortunately, we arent interested in returning.
Came for Thanksgiving dinner last night and it was such a wonderful experience! The food exceeded my expectations, the staff was incredible - so attentive and nice! The space is beautifully decorated for the holidays and the entire experience really just saved the day this year! Thank you to the entire Sparrow team!
Great atmosphere and have good NA beverage options!
Sparrow has an excellently designed interior. I noticed how well the place is designed from the get go. Id say their mocktails were on point, i love an herbaceous drink , my wife something sweet, and they nailed it. Our server and host were very warm and that was the highlight of the night. The food is solid american fair. Definitely a place to go for ambiance and excellent customer service.
They were out of cheese to make Mac and cheese 30 minutes after opening. The spicy chicken sandwich had zero flavor. The service was great!
Ryan took care of us and was super knowledgeable and dynamic. Cassie cashed us out and boxed up our food and was so kind and accommodating. The food was FANTASTIC. Will be coming back for sure. Want to try Wednesday live Music nights on the patio! Food
Great atmosphere with a well balanced menu! I wish I would ve taken a picture of the halibut I ordered but I ate it too quickly. Delicious!
Mostly good! Good service, food ok! Overpriced! Strong cigarette smell! Parking: Limited availability of parking lots Food : 5/5 |
I love this place, food is so damn and yummy drinks so delicious , service is outstanding!! I highly recommend it for any occasion!!!
Parking: Loved it Food
Great food. Wonderful presentation.
Wonderful service and Yummy Food!
Great place !
Food was disappointing. Chicken was way too salty, pasta had onions even though I was very specific that I don t want them. The second dish - ribs had nothing but fat. My husband s food was good. Waste of a long waited date when we hired a nanny specifically for the occasion. The manager was nice and offered $40 gift card for next time. Most likely it was one of those days but messing up 2 dishes in a row and serving wrong wine seems like too much for 1 night.
best banana bread in town
Great brunch menu, elegant dishes, European menu.
Spacious restaurant but the food was okay only
Waitress was lovely. But 2 out of 4 of the dishes we ordered were way too salty. Pity.
Food is wonderful
The building and atmosphere are very nice. The wait staff was also nice. However, the food was bland and overpriced. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich which didnt really taste like much. The seafood chowder was really disappointing as it didnt offer much flavor or chowder broth. We basically spent $70 on a chicken sandwich a cup of soup and a kids quesadilla that no one enjoyed. We left really disappointed.
Love this neighborhood restaurant near Juanita in Kirkland. Especially the atmosphere. Loved sitting outside on the covered patio. They were a little short on help, so the server was a little slow. Food
Went there to celebrate my moms 93rd birthday. A party of 10. Everyone was happy with the food, service and ambience.
Be careful about the payment and read the receipt, they charged the large party tip 20% twice by mistake and we found out, and there is also 3% credit card fee
Highly recommend the braised duck! Also the avocado burrata and scallops&porkbelly Food : 5/5
Ordered a seafood puff pastry. Abmysal amount of seafood in a big puff pastry with one egg on top for 29$ ridiculously priced and average. There was barely any fish in that pastry and even the one there was average in taste. The saucer of the machiatto was dusty( pic attached). The waiter was the most disinterested human at work. I can t believe that this is the service and quality of food you receive for the price and the expectation of a high tip. Its sheer entitlement at this point.
I tried the Dino short rib, and it was hands down the best thing I ve ever eaten. The spicy tuna tartare made for a perfect, fresh appetizer, and the service was flawless definitely a 10/10. I sat in the outdoor seating area, where the dim string lights created an amazing atmosphere.
Been here a few times now, most recently for dinner, and the food has consistently been delicious, service good and the patio and sunroom areas are beautiful and feel tucked away from street/traffic.
Don t recommend their appetisers, great entries
First time visit recently. There were three of us and we were seated in a roomy, comfortable booth. Our server, Laura, was helpful and friendly and gave us great service. The menu is interesting. High cost waygu beef next to sandwiches. I cant tell if Sparrow is trying to be a nice, classy, expensive restaurant or a place for families and casual dining. The atmosphere says fine dining. I had the short ribs and fried polenta. It was prepared perfectly. My friends both had salads and said they were very good. I was very surprised that other than my table there was only one other table occupied. We got there at 6:00. I was expecting more of a dinner crowd. We were there on a Thursday and the place was basically deserted. I hope things are going okay for the business. They seem to be in a pretty good location. Maybe we just were there on an unusually slow night. I would definitely go again. I was disappointed that there was an HVAC unit dripping onto one of my friends during dinner. She had to move to the corner of the booth, an awkward place to sit. When we told our server about it she didnt seem overly concerned. Kid-friendliness: I would not take young children. I dont know if they have a kids menu. The atmosphere isnt really for kids. Its more of an intimate dining experience.
Can be really loud. Very slow service, and a couple dishes missed their mark. The spicy chicken sandwich was good though.
3% CREDIT CARD PROCESSING FEE!!!!!
A new local favorite! The atmosphere is sophisticated without being stuffy and the whole place has a welcoming, chill vibe. The sunroom is a perfect blend of outdoor yet sheltered. The food is fantastic unpretentious, generous portions and full of subtle flavors. The lamb quesadillas and the bone marrow were outstanding, and the charcuterie board with its definitely more-ish fig jam tied everything together. The flourless chocolate cake with raspberry was dense, smooth and delicious. Many thanks to Evan for wonderful service he was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive without being overbearing and very helpful. We ll be back and will be sharing this super spot with family and friends! Highly recommend.
Very fun resturant tucked in the heart of Juanita. Fantastic food and fun experience. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The prices are a bit spendy but worth the experience. Their weekend brunch is very tasty and had a great variety to choose from. The service was a little slow so dont go if you are in a rush.
Love this place! Love food.
This is the second time we tried this restaurant and really wanted to like it but unfortunately it was still overpriced, ok food, and poor service. The food lacks any flavor and the waitress took our food while we were mid bite with fries still left on our plate, which was really unprofessional. We won t be giving this place another chance.
The decor and atmosphere is awesome. Especially when its not busy. The food is descent but standard. They need to up their espresso game. Some of their espresso drinks are not up to par. For the prices charged it should be much better. The cappuccino I got was basically a latte. Couldnt even taste the espresso. They charge you a 3% fee for using credit card. Just a sneaky way for a corporate run restaurant to pass on expenses to the consumer. Absolutely ridiculous. They dont even take cash lol...
The food was okay. My polenta arrived cold, and the pork belly was inconsistent, some of it being very chewy. For the cost, no Thank-you. The service was slow, and the indoors was too cold. Drinks were nice.
Didnt eat. Left pretty much immediately. As a former restauranteur myself, Im not happy with how they treat people at all. And judging by how much they must be spending for that location, I will be surprised if they last very long. Who knows though?
I absolutely love this place. They recently expanded their outdoor patio which is absolutely beautiful. I was there on a Wednesday evening and they had live music which Im a sucker for. The menu has something for everyone and items you dont usually find at other restaurants. I love their dirty martinis with goat cheese stuffed olives but their mocktails are amazing too. Its a great spot for date night, and I cant wait to go back and share this place with more friends and family.
First, the positives... * Nice outdoor, dog friendly patio * Friendly service * Live music on Wednesday evenings in the summer But, for me, these were outweighed by some downsides... * While our server was very friendly and working hard, it was clear the restaurant was understaffed the evening we were there. It took 20+ minutes to get drinks (glad of wine and a beer) and the food didnt arrive together. * The menu was pricey, for what it was. I know theres been considerable inflation and prices are up everywhere, and rent and staff are expensive in Kirkland, but still the prices felt high for what was delivered. For example, the Burrata was $19, which maybe is in the range for comparable restaurants, but NOT for what was delivered...one ball of Burrata and what was maybe 1/2 a slice of tomorrow chopped up to try to look like more. For $19, is expect several balls of Burrata and several full slices of tomato. Fix the staffing and address the value of the menu and this could be a solid dining option.
Service is quite slow, ordered bread service but got it after the entree
One brief caveat before I start gushing about these guys - they did not mention on the menu that their steak sandwich came with fries. My wife and I both ordered sides, and wound up with way too much food! That said - the food was fabulous. These guys went above and beyond. Our servers were incredibly attentive. The atmosphere is cozy, upscale without being pretentious. The prices are up there, but you really do get what you pay for here. Our host started the evening by saying that we would not be disappointed. The staff at Sparrow certainly delivered on that promise, with interest. Looking forward to joining them for brunch in the near future.
Food was delicious, atmosphere was comforting, and service was quick. The live music on the patio was a nice touch. Our service from Michael will definitely bring me back.
Very nice establishment. The live music is lovely and the food was top tier for the price. 5/5
Banana bread pudding was amazing. The steak and Halibut were great, too. I loved the atmosphere.
This is a great place in Juanita hidden around the corner to secluded really cool area with a nice deck a great place to take a date have dinner cocktails, and dessert. The staff is really nice. The food was awesome and the decor was beautiful. Great job.
Came here by chance, absolutely lucked out! What a lovely space, delightful vibe, and THE FOOD!!! 10/10.
The Halibut was excellent. The chopped salad is also fantastic. The service was a little disappointing. The server was very unfriendly. That was disappointing. The outside patio was fabulous! Parking: Parking is limited.
Wow, what an absolutely delightful dinner! The cocktails were perfection and each appetizer was a 10/10 delicious. Stylish, elegant atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Came during brunch hour, I dont recommend the seafood puff pastry, it tastes not very fresh, but the fruit mixed berry puff pastey was good.
The environment is good, but the pork belly dish is too greasy and the ingredients dont taste fresh. The food design is average. The price is too expensive. The steak is also mediocre and nothing new. Update: After withdrawing the food, you still made irresponsible remarks. What kind of service is it? One less repeat customer.
We live in the area and stopped by when we saw the patio was open. We planned to just get a drink but the menu was so enticing, we stayed for dinner. We had great service, the food and drinks were amazing, and we even hit the first concert of the summer! So fun!
Had the halibut. Was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly. While I m not a fan of tomatoes. Texture/ taste the way these were prepared blew me away. Had multiple servers check up on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. Place was was very neat and well kept. Highly recommended .
It reminds me of a NYC restaurant. Pretentious enough but actually comfortable and roomy inside. There is an outdoor patio seating. No one is there during weekday lunches. Dinner time and weekends are packed. It has a clean lines but heavy dark wood feel. Customer service is outstanding. Pasta dishes are superb. The seafood dishes are meh. Also...its missing a good steak. Just depends what youre in the mood for that day if its not shrip or steak this is a great place hands down.
Vastly overpriced and under seasoned. Nice decor though.
Good was great, service was on point, and it wasn t too crowded or loud. Great brunch spot and perfect vibe for weekends. Definitely recommend the chicken and waffles and the breakfast burrito.
Good brunch spot in Kirkland. Nice covered patio area.
Amazing food quality and taste. Halibut was so good. Cocktails are great too.
Place sucks. Only cares about the gram. Overpriced and bad food. Skip at all costs and bring back J Pub
Very good food and great service
Pricey, but good. Happy hour pricing helps, but still not cheap.
Great chicken and waffles! Pickles are also amazing here! Waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Will be back next time I m in Kirkland!
Not impressed, overpriced for how it tastes. My beer was flat, cocktail with rum doesnt taste like rum. Slider, Caesar salad and lamb taco are all average at best
Maybe living in Las Vegas for 14 years has a little to do with it but the staff needs to be retrained on time efficiency, table touching and just over all process. The two times I ve been here has been an unnecessary long visit. The most recent visit our table had to ask for drinks twice & appetizers once. You shouldn t have to ask for these no brainers at a restaurant. It took over an hour for the salads to make it to our table. Retrain the process or change the process to one where we want to return. Staring at a table that needs to be bussed our entire meal really gives off a Red Robin vibe. Twice is enough for us. Hope it gets better for others.
Had dinner there and the initial experience was great but did not get any better from there. When we entered the vibe was elegant and contemporary which is too my liking. The bartender was very nice and put together two very nice cocktails and we enjoyed a nice brief conversation with him while we waited for our table. From there things went downhill. Once seated it took quite some time for the server to come to us and even take a drink or appetizer order. The food then took a long time and our table visits from the waitress were distant at best. I would say they were busy but by the looks of things it was not overly crowded. As for the food, I had the Quesa-Birria and Chicken Sandwich along with a cup of Seafood Chowder. It was good, not great which is why I ultimately gave this place a 4-Star rating. It has the potential to be much better but on that given night it was a 3.5/4.
After the renovations, very impressed by atmosphere, service and food .
Very bad service,I will never come back
Sparrow Is top two best spots in Kirkland hands down! If this was downtown you wouldn t be able to get in.
Excellent food and service . Cheers Kelly.
Shayan was very personable and polite. Food and cocktails were amazing. Highly recommend and will be returning
I really like this place and the service, but the salad I got today was TINY!! I paid $18 for this salad that was the size of a side salad. Not recommending to get the salads. Otherwise, their food is good and the environment is nice, its dark inside if thats what youre looking for, but they have a wonderful outdoor patio thats heated. Just disappointed that I got ripped off on the salad today :( not worth the money.
The food portion was little and taste was too bland for me and the bread was kinda burnt...
First time here for Seattle restaurant week and it was awesome. The steak was better than some of the steakhouses, pork chop was yummy, and loved the crème brûlée and choc cake :)
Fantastic food, fantastic service, and fantastic ambiance! Well definitely be going back! Thank you very the great dining experience for a very special night!
This converted pub is now a proper restaurant and their decor!!! Moss game is strong here. Love! Popped in for a Saturday brunch and enjoyed our coffee and food. They have a full bar and boozy brunch is also an option. Food was tasty and service was friendly, but naturally got slower after it got busier. Worth a repeat visit. A few free parking spots out front and a lovely heated patio out back.
Love the upscale service, drinks, and food. Love it
My husband and I stopped here for unch on a whim. Amazing food, amazing service, and gorgeous interior. The zucchini linguine was delicious, so was the burrata and the creme bruele. Vegetarian options: Mushroom burger and zucchini linguine
Went for a brunch. Good atmosphere and service, food is so-so and the portion is small
Service was genuinely pathetic. Waited over an hour for our food and half of it was cold. Wasn t even too busy in there. No apologies from the waiter either.
Its a little dark for brunch but the food and coffee and service are good. The patio is nice in the summer.
For the price, taste and service we will not go back. Food was definitely bland and
My husband and I went for the Valentine s dinner and it was good. The food lacked a bit of seasoning. Service was great but a bit overpriced. The desserts were pretty bad. It was a one time thing.
Good food and service, proce was very high and very limited selection.
It was delicious, worth the price and really love the vibe of the reno they did to the place. Highly recommend
This place is awesome! Service was great! The lamb tacos and pork chop was excellent! Need I say more. I guess so, one more thing, the bartender made great drinks with pizzazz! I highly recommend this place!
I really enjoyed the restaurant. The service was great, and the food was ok-ish (they dont seem to know how to cook rare steak). The reason Im putting only 1 star is their absurd tipping policy. We opted for the 3 courses (prix fixe) menu at $65/person that was offered to us by our waiter. - 1% optional (jk it is mandatory) surcharge was automatically added to pay for the healthcare benefits of the staff. I did not realize I was an owner of the restaurant and that directly paying for employee benefits was part of my responsibilities. Whats next? An electricity surcharge? - In any normal restaurant, you would see a single item /per person on the bill for a prix fixe menu, but not here. Instead, it is displayed as a discount on individual items from the normal menu. - The % suggested tipping is a complete non-sense. First, it starts at 18%, and it is not even calculated on the total amount of the bill but some other amount. Most likely, the price if we had ordered each item individually. In the end, there was almost a $10 difference. Ridiculous! So I ordered the prix fix, but must tip on some other amount? Whats going on here? And why does it feel like you re manipulating me? This is a $100 per person meal. You dont need to trick your customers. Just put the real price upfront, and I would happily pay 15/22% tIp based on the quality of the service.
Absolutely excellent taste, presentation, menu choices. Thank you to Dante for all your input and 110% service.
Sparrow is a local hidden gem! Second time here and will be back. The Hawaiian swordfish, muscles & banana bread pudding were delish. Fun spot for friends, romantic dates and families. Ask for Dante s table. Vegetarian options: Zucchini linguine.
I ve been to their sister restaurant in Queen Anne Grappa and although slightly different menu, and ambiance; great food for a pretty good price. Portions are good, food is good. Their happy hour is great. I recommend their Prix Fix. Best bang for your buck if you want to mix/match. Great spot for a date night
Best Christmas Eve yet! So thankful!
Food lacks seasoning. Christmas day dinner, squash soup, just ok. Swordfish, needed seasoning and was dry, banana pudding was a piece of dry spice cake with bananas in it. Ice cream was good. Expensive, I dont mind paying for good food, but not the case. Service was excellent.
Stopped in for New Years Eve and went with the special menu; out of the 6 dishes we ordered everything was spectacular. The osso bucco and banana bread pudding really stood out
Good vibes, great food, Friendly staff!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. The service staff were friendly and the food was delicious and arrived on time.
Amazing service and atmosphere ! Delightful experience from the start to finish. Each dish we ordered was fresh and delicious! I look forward to returning to sparrow :)
It was okay. The price was higher than the food quality and service
The food is very delicious And the place is very elegant And they gave us very good service How very satisfied. I recommend them, I ate A new yourk steak And they brought it to me how I asked for it Thank you very much
Will not be returning here on account of the non-disclosed exorbitantly priced San Pellegrino. Food is ok but overpriced.
Sparrow is always a vibe. The cool looking bartender, whose name I sadly always forget, makes the most amazing mock-tails. Just try one, better yet, let him curate one for you. The guys an artist! Vegetarian options: I think they can prolly make whatever dish you want meatless, but I always go for either the zuccinni linguini or the mushroom burger veganized. Both dishes are exceptional. Theyre very accommodating, so have no fears.
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, ramp down to dining area Food
Went for a late night, small bites dinner on a cold weekday. Sat in the bar. Food offerings were interesting and delicious. Upscale. A bit spendy.
Had a lovely dinner tonight - sans reservation, but seated promptly. Found this place while looking for Shishito peppers and fell in love at first taste! First rate experience - would recommend calling ahead for reservations, as they do tend to fill up on weekends. Great menu, though a little on the pricey side. But well worth it! Parking can be tight, so carpool if you can. Try it out - you won t be disappointed.
Place is such a vibe, get the lamb burrito tacos for sure. Went with 3 people and the burrie tacos plus ceviche and the eggplant Parm was enough as our dinner and everything was delicious. Donut holes for dessert were a hit!
Had reservations for Sunday morning shortly after opening. Got sat right away as they were not busy yet but unfortunately had to wait over 10 minutes for anyone to come over with water and to take our order. We both ordered breakfast food that stated it came with potatoes (or Hashbrowns in parentheses) and the waiter didnt ask so we both assumed we would get the potatoes. Food was dropped off by someone other than our server but no one came back to check on us until after we finished. I mentioned that we were bummed we didnt get the potatoes and he apologized and said the computer defaulted to hashbrowns even though the menu states potatoes. Wasnt a huge deal but other than apology, was not offered any sort of discount or to speak to a manager about it. Again, food was great, atmosphere was nice, but lack of service will leave us unsure if well return anytime soon. Btw, donut holes are good but be aware you only get 6 and it was served with cold maple syrup. Would definitely recommend asking them to heat it up for you.
Delicious food and the patio is really nice in the summer
Cool ambiance. Waiter was great. Hummus was grocery store with big cut vegetables (super basic). Lamb tacos were drowned in oil with zero flavor. Fries were super soggy (dining in). Deviled eggs had good flavor but were super wet and soft. Bummer.
Sparrow was phenomenal, from the staff to the ambiance! We were greeted by Max, the Manager on duty, who made us feel right at home as soon as we walked in! When we were sat at our table Jayden our server, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were amazing, and the ambiance was perfect! Thank you for tgis memorable experience. We will definitely recommend Sparrow to everyone. Vegetarian options: Eggs benedict Parking: Right in front
Lovely outdoor seating with amazing food and drinks!
Both the bites and drinks keep me coming back but the service and atmosphere are the real winners here. Something on the menu for all your cravings. I love the burrata or birria to start.
Beautiful restaurant, has a built by hand touch to it which is rare to see these days. Also the rigatoni and tacos are packed with flavor. Lots of different areas for whichever mood you re in. Great ambiance for date nights.
Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options Food
Amazing pimms cup! Scallops and pork belly were done perfectly Great service! Food : 5/5
Sparrow accommodated our party of 12 beautifully. Our family suffered a loss and we wanted to meet at a central location. Prior to making the reservation, we asked about parking availability and if the restaurant was loud or not. There was ample parking and the area where we were seated had the availability to control volume of the music. My niece made the reservation and they offered her options of check splitting, or even use of a private room if we guaranteed a certain amount. The server Ryan, was flawless. He took our picture on the lush outdoor patio after the meal. Everything was perfect. The food and the ambience and professionalism exceeded all of our expectations. I m not going to lie, the building was lovely, but shaped like a familiar pizza place. The interior was a perfect blend of sophisticated and relaxed. Loved the moss walls. Plus - we had a great time. Thank you.
Service was fantastic. We ordered cocktails and my partner ordered Pacman but received something else. We let the bartender know and he got it taken care of. Not sure if it was the owner or manager who was working at the bar but he was great about getting the drink right as well. They were both apologetic. We had the French toast and chilaquiles, both were so good. Looking forward to going back.
The food is great, there are limited options on what you can get, it leans a bit towards bar food but there are a couple of actual meal options you can have service was good as atmosphere is cozy. Vegetarian options: Limited Parking: Free parking in front of the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Accesible
Second time there. What happened? 35 minutes to get our first drinks. Lead bar tender came out and he is very intoxicated. The rest of the young wait staff handled it professionally, but clearly embarrassing for his condition.
Nice place and ambience. Enjoyed the food and the desserts. Definitely try the creme brulee and mini doughnut balls.
Excellent meal and fantastic service. The grilled octopus was amazing.
The ambiance of this restaurant and their cocktail game is strong! Their creme brulee is AMAZING! I was a bit let down by their vegetarian options. The vegetarian pasta did not taste that good and didnt have non-meat options as topping to make the dish worth the price or to satisfy your hunger. My friend, who had the chicken sandwich, said it was pretty good. Vegetarian options: The menu had one vegetarian dish and I thought it tasted ok. It was bland and still left me feeling hungry after.
Nice interior, love the moss. The deviled eggs were good butthe most uninspired guacamole Ive ever had. Dont plan on coming back.
We went for brunch. They charge for soda refills! Care! Chilaquiles were good but 10 USD for a few pieces of chicken isn t great. Service kinda slow.
We came in for a Labor Day lunch and were not at all expecting to be knocked out of the park, and yet.... Biggest shout out goes to our waiter; he was holding down the fort by himself and absolutely *crushing* it. He went so far out of his way offering options to make our dining experience better despite being slammed, and Im so sorry I didnt get his name. Whoever you are, shine on, you diamond! The food was also SO good. I had the steak sandwich which was juicy and well-seasoned, accompanied by the one of the only au jus (whats the plural of au jus?!) Ive ever really enjoyed. The fries were perfect. My husband had the mushroom burger and said it was the best hed ever had. We started with the guacamole; it was listed as spicy and honestly wasnt very spicy but that was okay because it was perfectly balanced and I get the hiccups when things are too spicy anyway. Theyve also got a kids menu with all the classics; our 6yo loved his butter noodles. The cocktail menu is creative and delicious. The standouts for me were the Passionate Encounters and the Ginicillin but my husband also had an old-fashioned that he loved. We finished with a creme brulee that was pretty close to perfect (couldve had a tiny bit more crust but the textures and flavors were there). Well definitely come back for the donut holes! Weve been meaning to check this place out forever and Im so sad we didnt do it sooner. Really cant recommend it enough. And to the guy working the lunch shift alone, thank you so much! You rock. Parking: Decently sized parking lot, maybe 15-2) spaces? Street parking seems east enough as well. Kid-friendliness: Theyve got a kids menu with some classic options; we opted for the butter noodles but everything sounded great!
Nice atmosphere but mediocre food and slow service. The restaurant is well decorated with large walls full of live green moss all around (along with do not touch signs). The tables are laid out well and not too closed in together, leaving enough space for privacy. The service was insufferably slow. It took them 20 minutes to come take our order, and then another 20 minutes for the first appetizer to show up. We had to remind them about ordering a bottle of water multiple times. The servers seem experienced, so maybe they were understaffed. The food was mixed. Our appetizer of sausage+mussels was good. My main entree of scallops and pork belly was so undersized it looked like an appetizer. The pork belly was more like three pieces of thick-cut bacon. It was so laughable that I had to take a picture (see attached). The polenta was overcooked and congealed. Definitely not worth the $46 price tag. My friends filet mignon was generously sized so not all entrees were poor. The dessert of flourless chocolate cake was good but not enough to save the meal. Overall a resounding meh. Would not come again.
The service here, especially behind the bar, is great. The cocktails are pretty good, but pricey. The food is way overpriced considering how mediocre it is. Its worth a visit, but just for drinks
Honestly this was beyond disheartening. I spent the day in this area and suggested going to this restaurant for the aesthetic and to enjoy a fine dining experience with friends. The whole experience was disgraceful to say the least. First I get there and the host was great. Our server comes and had a bad attitude as soon as our party sat down. I asked for ice for my water and he didn t come back until after I asked for my food with a hair in it to be remade (40 minutes later). Asked for toast without avocado and he brought it with avocado and an extra side of it. The host brought my food, ice, etc. Server was completely inexistent and the disrespect of it all was that we watched him cater to the tables around us. The last straw was when I found hair in my food. At that point I went to the manager and he was completely incompetent and without compassion. I then asked him to remake the food and he agreed. By the time I got the food I wasn t even hungry. About 25 minutes passed by and the table had already eaten their food so I asked for my check. At that point our waiter who we hadn t seen since he took our order finally had came out with my food! The manager came out and offered to compensate the food but instead he kept the order on there and charged my party for food I didn t even eat. I would highly suggest you not eat here. You would not only risk your health but also your bank account. I can only imagine if I ate that plate. What I did taste of this place was also very bland.
Please save yourself from eating here! The manager and staff are racist towards black people. How they treated my friend was completely unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. Their service was absolutely APPALLING for all of us there. Food was cold and bleh for me. Friends had hair and dirt in their food. Server couldnt get the orders right and another server had to cover for him because he didnt want to serve my black friend. Manager finally showed up and was just rude and had poor hygiene. If you want over priced dirty food, servers that dont care about you and lousy customer services then this is the place for you!
Loved the Sparrow!...was treated there w/friend 6 months ago for my bday dinner...nice staff, atmosphere and food/wine/dessert was delicious...we could walk there.
Our server, Teague, was exceptional. He was professional, courteous and very attentive. The food and drinks were delicious and the restaurant was beautiful.
The bartender is a magician! The drinks here are amazing. I especially loved the sliders and the deviled eggs :) the lamb Barria was amazing as well!
With a name like sparrow one might expect a pirate themed pub, but this place was far from. It was a perfect little hidden spot with a gorgeous patio. The drinks were amazing and not too sugary like many places cocktails are. I had a tequila sour drink that was garnished to perfection. The food was presented very nice and was quite delicious. My favorite was the lamb barria, the sliders, and the deviled eggs. We got a few shareable appetizers but didn t realize some of the Avocado dishes were quite similar but still great and hella fresh. Overall I m glad I tried someplace new and had such a great time dining here.
I ordered the : Deviled eggs Spivey guac Burrata Sliders Lamb b. As well as the donuts Everything was delicious and service was impeccable. My favorites were the eggs and lamb barria- the donuts were also worth it.
Painfully slow service. A young server who didn t seem to retain information long enough to write it down. Our meal orders weren t taken for 24 minutes after we were seated. Restaurant very slow on a Wednesday night and still felt the service attention was inadequate. Service was equivalent to an Olive Garden - disappointing and underwhelming.
Tried sparrow twice now. Bar is slow but food and beverages are excellent
My husband and I have a babysitter on Sat and love a regular place to go close to home. We found Sparrow and love the food but most importantly the service. Particularly Dante who always engages us in the best drinks to try etc.
My sister, our friend and I went for drinks and dessert. We ordered doughnut holes and the crème brûlée which was delicious! We definitely want to come back for lunch or dinner.
Had such an amazing time tonight! Our server, Dante, really went above & beyond to make a birthday celebration really special. Plus we had one of the cocktails on the menu that we found out he actually created himself! Highly recommend trying it for yourself, its called Dantes Pitchfork. SO GOOD.
Food was great! Dante was our server, and he was awesome. The drink he invented, Dantes pitchfork, was super good!
Expensive but good
Service was above and beyond ! Food was very good
I had a good experience there. The mimosa service was great.
Great food with impeccable service.
Made last minute reservations here Friday night and was delighted with the atmosphere, service, and the food. Dante took great care of us, curated the restaurant week wine pairings, and all-together made the evening quite enjoyable.
Good food - we enjoyed the scallops and pork the most. Came for Seattle restaurant week which was a reasonable deal for certain menu items.
We have been curious to try Sparrow since seeing the building begin its remodel and the new sign going up. You can tell a lot of care went into this restaurant from the second you walk in. We visited on a nice evening so made reservations for the patio and had a wonderful dinner under the lights. The environment was a perfect mix of classy yet laid back. The service was amazing, and the food reflected the same attention to detail with great flavor and presentation. Definitely stick around for the bread pudding for desert.
Food was meh by extremely expensive. The service was bad. Sat down and ordered tea and coffee. Took half an hour to get tea and coffee. Inside the music audio was so loud for a brunch that we couldnt hear each other.
This place was great! Our server was super friendly and personable. Plus he gave great drink recommendations. The food was delicious and fresh. Overall great experience and plan to go back!
Fantastic place for a date or a quiet ans relaxing evening.
This review is our Thanksgiving experience. We ve had much better experiences at Sparrow, but Thanksgiving was a disappointment for all of us. Generally speaking, the menu was nicely thought out, though I was a bit surprised not to see a regional fish option. Two in our party had the prime rib ordered medium rare, but the rather thin slice was served quite rare. By the time our server returned to check on us, the two entrees were half consumed, so they decided not to have them replaced with ones at a proper temp. The remaining three went traditional with the turkey which was good, but not memorable. One was served without the cranberry sauce, but was brought out upon asking. The autumn salad and soups were tasty and desserts were good. One bottle of wine that we had was very good, but overpriced even by restaurant standards of late. A second bottle which was recommended was mediocre with all of us saying the first was far better. As for service, generally speaking it was good. However, when we were seated, we were asked if we would like sparkling or still water. As it was a pre fixe menu we thought it was just a choice. Nothing was ever mentioned that it was an additional charge, which we are normally fine with when it s priced reasonably, but this was $11/bottle, nearly double the most we ve ever paid at other restaurants for a bottle we can get for about $2. They did remove one bottle from our check when we brought it to our server s attention, suggesting they let patrons know sparkling is available at an additional charge, which was appreciated. The guitarist was a nice addition. We ll return, non holiday and hope that it s still the Sparrow we ve enjoyed in the past.
Food is good but service is sub par. We have to ask for water refill, waiter disappeared for a while, and automatically added 20% of tip for his lousy service.
Great place, nice vibes, lovely food and amazing cocktails. Oh also kid friendly. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu - pasta, sliders, quesadilla
Get the lamb birria tacos for sure!!
Had a great meal here, the food was excellent, great wine list,, was very impressed and look forward to going again!
The Italian sausage fettuccine was pretty flavorless. We were also surprised to be charged $11 (!) per bottle of sparkling water when the server did not indicate it was an up charge over still water. Good drinks and banana bread pudding, but definitely not worth it for a $100/person meal.
We ve been here 5+ times over the past year and the food and service have consistently been wonderful. I d say it s like Woodblock in Redmond. We always do the tapas for sharing. I really like the spicy tuna tartare, and I wish there were more salads (and octopus please). The lighting is really interesting, not a lot of ambiant light, creates a sense of privacy along with the booths.
What a delightful restaurant with such a warm atmosphere and kind staff. Our hostess Aubrey seated us at her favorite table and her recommendation for the lamb birria tacos was spot on. Thanks for the perfect girls night.
Great food and great service also server are super nice and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend Food
Our Bartender Max gave us excellent service, and the manager Nuri kept me laughing!
