Bok a Bok Fried Chicken - Kirkland
Bok a Bok I’m conflicted about Bok a Bok, I respect what they’re trying to do. Their chicken pieces are well prepared — large and juicy. I just don’t care for their batter which isn’t flavorful enough for me and retains too much oil. I also don’t love their dipping sauces. For me, I prefer some of their areas other fried chicken options. As for the location, while there are technically a couple of seating options indoors and outdoors, but this location is designed for takeout. You order at a kiosk or online, then pickup and go. So don’t come with high exceptions about the service. Parking is also available for free in the large, on the street or lots, but Totem Lake Village is popular and frequently crowded, so be prepared.
My daughter is GF, DF, and EF (egg free)! She loves fried chicken so this place is a great option! My younger daughter and I enjoyed it as well. We got the fish sauce caramel wings. Those were very flavorful. The squeeze of fresh lime was a great touch. My younger daughter loved the chicken strips with the ranch. I am not a giant fan of wet batter finished fried chicken but this was delightful. It is pricey though which we expected. The tater tots were the surprise delight for my younger daughter who said she generally dislikes tater totes.
Bok a Bok Fried Chicken is a top pick for Asian-style chicken wings, and their Totem Lake location in Kirkland is super convenient, nestled in a mall with plenty of nearby shops and eateries. Pairing their wings with a boba from Don’t Yell At Me, just down the way, is our go-to combo. The location itself is small and has no indoor seating, but the common seating area outside is cozy, with heating for the colder months, so it’s comfortable year-round. Their menu offers a range of wet and dry rubs for the wings, but the standout is the fish sauce flavor. It’s an ideal blend of salty, sour, sweet, and spicy, all wrapped in a perfectly crispy coating. I haven’t come across this flavor at other chicken places, and it’s a must-try if you’re looking for something unique. Whether you’re new to Bok a Bok or a fried chicken fan, this spot is definitely worth a visit!
It was a good crispy chicken sandwich. It just seems like everything is spicy 🥵 which would be cool if you could ease the heat with some reach but that's spicy to. I love spicy the wife hates it. I would go again but it's nothing to spectacular.
Trying out fried chicken sandwich around. I’ve got spicy chicken sandwich with chicken thigh and spicy honey dipping sauce. The sandwich alone is a bit spicy, but the dipping sauce makes it mild. Large chunks of chicken, good soft bun, great flavors. Will try other flavors next time.
Whoever wrote the "it was ok" review was 100% correct. The price is right and the food is ok. I wasn't completely disappointed, but I would try other Korean fried chicken spots before ordering here again. On the plus side I got my food super quick, placed an online order, walked in... Got my food and left.
I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries. The fries had barely any seasoning and had no flavor. The chicken sandwich was also plain, as I took a bite I noticed it was pink…I’m unsure if it was because it was raw or something else. Would not come again, there are better food spots out there. As I looked at the negative reviews about how plain the food was I very much agree with them.
We tried their Bowl o Shame & Dirty Tater Tots! The Bowl o Shame has the Dirty Tater Tots inside with macaroni & cheese, kimchi sauce, and fried chicken pieces! Big big fan of this bowl. You get so much food in your order and it is super filling. Would absolutely get it again.
Visiting from out of state but I m familiar with bok a bok from previous visits. Normally, I have a car so I can pickup, but since I m only here for a few days I didn t bother with a rental so I had to get it delivered to my hotel instead. I ve never ordered from the Kirkland location before, but they closed the ones I used to order from. This location forgot my sauces for my delivery as well as the utensils i requested. When I called about it, the person I spoke with told me the most they could do was just refund me for one of the items I ordered. I ended up doing another order only for the sauces, which amounted to the same I was refunded due to the delivery fees. Just a bit disappointed from this situation, I understand they couldn t just dispatch another driver but it felt like I ended up having to pay for their mistake. EDIT: So the owner in the reply said that they refunded me the amount I paid for the sauces but they just cancelled my order for the sauces. Now I have to reorder the sauces again. I called the location about it and the person over the phone was really understanding and also upset at the situation which I appreciated. I will add that staff is nice but to make it easier I will never order delivery from here again.
food was not good, i will never come in to this place again
Not good
I just had a extremely disheartening experience ordering through the website, and dont plan on doing so again. I also need around 60 dollars refunded. I placed an order at 7:29 and at 8:20 received a call from the doordash driver saying your order was already picked up at 7 I said how is that possible, I placed the order at 7:30 and he repeated the order was at 7:30 to the guy working behind the counter. The guy behind the counter, I overheard, said oh yeah, Jonas at 7:29 and I asked to speak with the employee. I asked the employee hey, Im just confused on how my order was passed off to the wrong person here or if it was picked up and the employee, in a questioning and irritated tone said he showed me a phone? I gave him the food? And I replied hey its alright man Im just trying to figure out what happened here. Do you remember when the order was ready for pick up? And the employee yelled into the phone how am I supposed to know that dude! We get orders all day here! And hung up the phone on me. Since I placed the order via the bok a bok website, I cant file a claim with doordash. Since the employee hung up on me, I cant get any more information. I am now out a 60+ dollar order, got yelled at for it, and have to find another food option at now 8:40 pm. I am extremely frustrated with how this was handled.
We have been royal returning customers during pandemic years, they were really good. We loved their chickens coating, crispy, spicies, honey etc. Bok bok has definately lowered their food quality since 2023, we wish that was just one-time disappointed food batch but we were wrong. We tried again and again, we finally gave up. Bok bok even no longer marinate chicken before cooking, coating is still the same but insides taste plain and no longer flavorful. Have bok bok changed master chief or what?
Disliked it The chicken was dark meat full of fat that wasnt rendered. Small takeout spot with a few tables outside
This was a take out only location. The good is great, and all of it is gluten free.
Spicy Chicken Sandwich was too good. Also had tacos which tasted of stale Chicken and had to toss it out else wake up with a bad stomach. Food : 1/5
Amazing chicken. The breading is gluten free and its keto friendly so you dont feel super heavy when youre eating fried chicken. Everything is fresh and well seasoned.
This is an excellent chicken place. The food is excellent and the employees are friendly. I have no idea why there are any low star reviews.
My weekly dose of fish sauce chicken but lately Im obsessed with these mushrooms. So good
The foot is good you can take out or eat there the area is nice. The service is good.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten and nut free Food
Excellent delicious food made to order. Weird space to eat your food. More of a takeout type place or dining outside on their patio chairs. Front of house staff must have been having a bad day. Will definitely go back for take out again.
Love Bok a Bok! They closed their west Seattle location!
Some of the best fried chicken I ve had in my life. This is a safe haven for those with gluten-free allergies or celiac. Very friendly staff and good customer service overall. Plus good value for your money.
Trash food
One of the best fried chicken in the Seattle area.
3.5 is the average rating at time of writing which seems too low. The food is delish and really the only problem i have is it can be a bit slow but thats totally fine. Great addition to Totem Lake !
Dinner for two seems decent at $40. Crispy and juicy chicken and the kimchi Mac and cheese is the real highlight.
Gals said i cant get the soda, she said it had to be with my order but the ordering kiosk didnt give a free soda as an option
Fried chicken and bowl of shame. I did feel shame that I ordered from here, big let down. Fried chicken was mediocre and the bowl was disgusting. Low quality meat and soupy mess of sauce.
Disappointing! Was my first time ordering and I came in on Friday. Ordered 3 kinds of chicken wings with sides. Found short black hair in my pickled radish container. Ordered two dipping sauces to go with the wings and one made it on the receipt but neither made it inside the bag. And of course since it was stapled, I only realized they didn t put the causes when I got home. Quite frankly, I am more upset that they didn t add the causes than the hair. I even left a 6$ tip on a pick up order.
Bok a bok is a favorite and this location is no different - delicious crispy chicken, great service. Vegetarian options: Swap chicken for Fried tofu in rice bowls and sandwiches! Dietary restrictions: Lots of great gluten free options - fried chicken, fried tofu, tots, rice bowls Fryers are only used for GF foods.
Chicken was the worst.
I typically review places because of great experiences. Unfortunately, this one was less than ideal for customer experience, atmosphere and sadly, the food. I was hankering for some fried chicken and wanted to try this place. I stood in the store front for a longtime and even though an employee came out and saw me when he was getting something from the fridge, no one popped out to check-in. All good, gave me time to read all the menus. I realized that i meeded to self-serve orser thru the machine. Did that and waited. Order fries extra hot but they turned out just warm. ;( I ordered The Classic Sandwich, and the chicken sandwich was chewy, didnt seem high quality for an $11 sandwich. I am glad I tried it but will stick to the Korean spot in Canyon Park or by Safeway in Juanita, YUM! P.S. it is all take-out, no place to eat inside. And, lease note, another staff memeber did pop-out later and apologize for the delay, all good....it gave me time to read the menus! ;)
So far this place has been great. I went to Big Chicken because it was closer to me since I moved. And really want to like it, but I think this is still the best. However the fires are not worth it.
This place is for to-go-orders only. Tiny place with no seating except outside which couldn t take advantage of since it was raining and cold. The server was super nice and gave recommendations. I got the kimchi Mac and cheese which was super good! Also got the 4 piece tender salt and vinegar dry rubbed. I actually like dipping it in the Mac and cheese compared to the ranch dip that came with it. Might try other options next time. Still not off my list to visit.
I literally have wings here once a week!! And it never disappoints !! The Fish Sauce Caramel mint + cilantro + fresno chile + lime & Lemon Garlic Pepper Rosemary tangy, notes of citrus, aromatic are my goo to wings !! And don t forget the ranch they have Food
Highlight of this place for me are the chicken sandwiches. They are always delicious and the price is right.
Super rude staff. Guy at front has issues
Awesome place for GF fried chicken. The chicken is crispy and always hot whenever I have ordered from them. The sauce options were great. Also really enjoyed the dirty rice and dirty tots. If you are GF for medical reasons, I would still specify that you have an allergy/disease. I think they still have some gluten in the kitchen so be careful! Only thing I would say is not great is the lack of seating in the restaurant. There is seating outside, which is great during the warm months, but not so great whenever it is cold outside.
Crispy chicken, good dipping sauces. I need to try the wet ribs next time! Nima sensor confirmed it was gluten free, as well. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options w/ dedicated fryer
Terrible service, bad food and expensive for the quality to say the least. First and last time .
What they make is quite different from what I would call Korean fried chicken..
Good crispy chicken. I really appreciate all the chicken being gluten free because I haven t had fried chicken in years. Can t wait to try their different flavors. The dipping sauces were okay, hot sauce and ranch were very good.
If you are craving for some really spicy spicy chicken wings, then this is the place for you. Order the Four-Alarm wings (these have a 2.2 million scoville rating) and you will experience the actual spiciness...so yumm!! And this come with a side of small milk tetra pack :) Loved the spicy chicken wings and the spicy chicken sandwich here and will definitely be going back here a lot.
My family and I have ordered from here twice ( Third party ) and both times the food has been hot and delicious. Ordered the dirty tots and OG wings . Wings were soooo good ( Similar to asian style salt and pepper wings ) crunchy and flavorful . Tots were really good too , enough seasoning and the poached egg was a great add on . Yes this place may have low reviews BUT dont knock it until you try it . Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Just tried this for the first time. Good service, delicious food. Im confused why the rating is so low, it should be much higher.
Yikes where do I begin The online order said 2 hours so I drove out to order in person and they said 15 minutes Out of wings So I got the thighs and tenders. Big mistake. Thighs are smaller than the palm of my hand and super thin. The tenders were dry, like after 2 I couldn t finish the last one. The chicken itself is completely unseasoned and the sauce has a lot to be desired. The sauce it comes with is unique but nothing memorable in terms of enhancing the food. I ve never regretted tipping service workers but man. Why even bother asking if you need intensive if you don t have them anyway? No utensils or napkins. All to add that it was 6.25? Per thigh. Just a lot of disappointments.
Definite easy five stars here. I came here for the first time recently and was blown away by the pure quality of the chicken. I got the basic chicken sandwich and by far it was the best chicken sandwich I have had in the state. Service was average, taking around 10 minutes for my friend and Is order to be ready. Highly recommend to anyone. Parking: Garage across the street is free and semi convenient!
Located in the heart of The Village at Totem Lake. There is no indoor seating just outdoor shared seating. The staff is very friendly. We tried: 1.) OG Dirty Wings with Unami BBQ sauce my hubby said they were just ok 2.) Dry Wings Sea Salt & Vinegar. I liked it could have been a bit more tart and Salt.
Im so surprised to see any negative reviews! Me (vegetarian) and my husband (carnivore) have ordered from this place so many times. I love that I can get their rubs on perfectly crispy crunchy tofu or sub them in a sandwich at no extra cost. Everything weve ever ordered has been flavorful, crunchy, and delicious. Even after a third party car ride!
Nice to have a gluten free fried chicken option in the area!
Probably the driest and blandest fried chicken Ive ever had. The smoky bbq seasoning smelled nice but didnt taste like anything and instead of a nice crispy outside, it was just kind of hard. Wet rub was better but the inside was still dry.
Don t get the vinegar garlic thing, it s very dry you cannot even swallow lol Other than that, kimchi mac&cheese is awesome!!!! Shoot on wet wing part, dry ones are suuuuper dry. Thanks!
The food here is really good, just gotta figure out what your favorite is.
As other reviews have said--if weather is bad, theres no seating. But thats true for most restaurants in the shopping district. Someone also mentioned the OG not having a ton of salt/ flavor. For me, it makes sense because of the rubs and sauces. Too much seasoning on the breading would compete with the other flavors of the sauces, so more mild on the OG allows a neutral base to work with any of the flavors. I was pleasantly surprised to find a boneless chicken thigh in the thigh. Still a super juicy piece of chicken, but I got all the meat without having to fight the bone. And the staff was amazing! Thank you for a GF fried chicken experience with NO reactions. Yum!
The fried chicken doesn t taste that good. We ordered regular ones and it s just below average among Seattle areas.
Unimpressive and not worth the price. Ordered the Spicy chicken sandwich. Their chicken was bland taste, had a spicy sauce and tons of jalapeños on the bun. Chicken was not at all tasty and juicy. Overall I will give it zero points for taste, presentation and value for money. I had also ordered a side sauce which they did not give. Sloppy service by missing one part of the order. Therefore they lose points here to in customer service and completeness of order. NOT RECOMMENDED!
Not great chicken
Taste is really awesome. But i feel its little costly for a take away fastfood.
Menu is very confusing for the wings but the kimchi Mac n cheese & bowl of shame is probably the only things I d get from here
I got the Bulgogi Chicken Tacos and they were super flavorful with a hint of spice I really enjoyed them! Will definitely be back to try more!
Meh. Chicken is crispy but otherwise unremarkable. Tried most of the rubs and sauces as well, all mediocre. Not bad but not good. Just meh.
GRUBBN GRUBBN GRUBBN Wow what some great tasting chicken !!!! Great little area to eat and chill
Counter only, no tables -- plenty of seating around totem lake though. Delicious comfort food
Parking can be hectic here because it s a mall. It s a small shop and the staff are super nice!! The chicken is incredibly crisp and full of flavor. Dare I say, it might be juicier than Chick-fil-A? We initially ordered a bowl of shame and rice bowl, but after changing it to two bowl of shame and getting a refund, they still gave us the rice bowl. Awesome. I ve had their chicken sandwich before and it was GOOD. I was ready to take a nap after the chicken sandwich last time and I was ready this time after the bowl of shame too. It s really, REALLY cheesy. Take a lactaid. It s almost too rich and I wished there were more tater tots to soak it up. Felt a bit sick because I ate too much, but that s a me problem. Great eats 8/10!! Price to food ratio is decent, but it s Kirkland so
Try the kimchee Mac & Cheese!
Mediocre food
Best fried chicken out there
Probably the worst fried chicken Ive ever had in my lifetime, and that includes all fast food chains Ive been to. Outside is not crisp, inside is either super greasy(thigh) or super dry(tender), and sauce is sticky and weird. I cannot think of any positive regarding the food. How can it be so messed up i dont understand
The wings were cooked very well, crispy skin, juicy inside, and nice seasoning. The dipping sauces were nice and spicy. The only complaint is the wings were meager in size. The service was super friendly and very prompt.
The food is just not good. FYI This is not Korean Fried Chicken. It tastes like dessert and meal got combined, but it s not good for neither. Truly gross meal experience that I will not want to repeat again #fusionfail
This is take out Korean fried chicken... its OK, but not exceptional.
There are a bunch of friendly wasps (or scary looking bees) that just licked my 1-Piece chicken thighs and soy garlic sauce off my fingers. It felt weird but really nice.
Let me prefesis this with the fact that I love Koren food, unfortunately this particular fastfood chicken version leaves much to be desired. The spicy chicken sandwich was thigh meat, unlike their very close by competitor. The dirty rice bowl was disappointing, as it was just a big bowl of white rice with a a little sarach spicy sauce and a raw egg on top...I will pass. I will say the service was outstanding!
Really bad food
Good good and customer service
No dedicated seating except outdoor seating. Great if its sunny or warm. During winter theres heated fixtures though
Food will leave you sweating and excited for more, never turn up the opportunity to try this chicken. You wont be disappointed.
thick batter , weird taste combo , dry chicken. quite a disappointment. Tried 3 times and did not want to give up but this place is a bust
Huge disappointment. The chicken is bland bland bland. I ve had better chicken practically anywhere else. Dirty rice sounded amazing and fell flat as well. All their food was seriously lacking any good flavor. Was really excited to try when I saw the menu, but it s a no go ever again. If you can t even top KFC, maybe it s time to go back to the drawing board.
*****BUYER BEWARE***** To start off, the tater tots! Ok now heres why Im giving one star. My sandwich was delivered to me, mint was brown and slimy. It had gone bad and it still made it into my sandwich. I took a bite that had some mint in it and the bite tasted rotten. How bad would this slimy sludgy brown mint have to get before someone asks themselves should I throw that out? That can get someone sick or killed!!! I tried to call but their phone was either busy or disconnected.
Was pretty decent. Fries weren t anything special, wish they were a bit more crunchy. Ordered sesame soy burger and that was good!
This place is a new favorite! We ordered (delivery) two different chicken sandwiches, dirty tots, and a biscuit. This was our first time ordering, so we wanted to get a decent sampling of the menu! Our sandwiches were both insanely flavorful and delicious. The tots were absolutely killer: complex flavor profile and just satisfying in every way. The biscuit was the perfect compliment to the meal with a spice honey syrup that will knock your socks off. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Not crispy, not juicy, not delicious at all. So disappointed.
I love this place and you will too as long as you experiment a bit with various items to see what matches your taste the most. I had some hit and miss till I found what I loved the most (all their sandwich, but not the wings). Also lines and wait can be unpredictable, j recommend ordering online and then picking up.
Sorry I was not impressed the chicken was so crunchy I literally almost broke a tooth. The menu recipes are unique, but the food was just did not live up to my expectations. The biscuit was overcooked/dry & I just didnt enjoy the chicken as they use thigh meat so the fat does not render well with such a thick crispy coating so its like chewing on grissle every bite.
Chicken was delicious. Crunchy outside but not oily, soft and juicy inside.
Coconut brown butter dry chicken wings was good but super expensive.
Quite underwhelming. Over fried food, and not the most flavorful.
Chicken was cooked perfectly but their selection of dry rubs and sauces is just okay!
tots were great. Chicken was overcooked. The batter was crispy then chewey. My wife and I also got food poisoning. Probably wont be back.
Chicken smells and doesn t taste good. Yuck
Tried chicken sandwich. Very decent. Amazing ambience at you totem lake mall.
Im not huge on fried chicken but my husband insisted I try it. Im so glad I did Bok a Bok is amazing!!! We live out in Lynnwood and while it doesnt take long to get there its still a treat since driving out there isnt something we can do all the time with 3 kids. But oh man its well worth the drive
Horribly slow. It takes forever. They dont get anything on time. Same issues time after other.
The chicken burger was not good at all. It was very oily. I would never try it again
Nice and crispy chicken And Yummy dipping sauces!
I wanted to love this place so much; I ve heard great things about their chicken from so many people. Whoever was working up at the counter was extremely kind and welcoming! I feel so bad leaving a not so good review. I got the 3pc chicken strips and the chicken was overly moist inside, like it had a bit of a greasy texture to it. I m not sure if the breading is not supposed to have crunch or not, but it didn t and one side was a bit wet/ heavy with a greasy substance. I had a couple bites and it made my stomach hurt; maybe I just got a bad batch but I m not too sure. I definitely wouldn t say to not go and try this place, I m glad I got the chance to see what it was about. If you re curious about trying, I d say go for it and see if it s something you might enjoy.
Comparable to the UW location. Cap Hill location is the good one. Totem Lake location just opened, however, so its possible theyre still learning so this review might be different in a couple of months. Rating is based on first month. Wait times are a bit long, to be expected. Whats not acceptable is orders being forgotten. Had a friend wait 55 minutes for their order whereas 2 other friends received their order before him (30 mins, placed order 10 mins later). Food isnt bad, chicken is pretty juicy. Prices are a bit high like other locations. A chicken sandwich is about $10 but isnt as good as Popeyes. Slightly better than Chick-fil-a in taste but value wise its worse. Sauces are super liquidy but not necessarily watered down, still tasty just messy.
I was excited when this opened, as I used to go to the CapHill location frequently, which is great. Ive been here four times now out of convenience. All four times were bad. Their batter does not adhere to the chicken. Despite how greasy it is, the meat itself is dry. Flavor is non-existent, well...it just tastes like old frying oil. Luckily, theres a Chick-fil-A right down the street
Great place for Korean fried chicken! The only reason this did not get 5 stars was the lack of restaurant seating. FOOD: - 6pc Chicken strips as OG dry wings ($6.25): Think of your classic chicken strips but lighter, crispier, and crunchier exterior! The OG was really just a dusting of Korean pepper powder so there wasnt too much flavor that stuck to the the individual strips. - 5pc Chicken wings as Fish Sauce Caramel Wet wings ($7.95): These were soooo bomb! The exterior was amazingly light but very crunchy. The sauce had the fish taste but it was extremely mild. I love that the bottom of the plate/box had extra sauce, with mint, and julienne chili. I made sure to dip each wing into the extra sauce between each bite. - Kimchi Mac n Cheese $6.50: I wanted to love this more. It was pretty good at first but the more I ate, the more it was just okay. It pretty much taste like mac and cheese with kimchi mixed through out. Im sure there is additional things done to it but I dont think I would order this again. - Dirty Tots $9.00: This was sooo good but I think it was because its a tots and cheese LOL. I dont think the soft poach egg added anything but overall it was a great side or even a main item depending on how much you eat normally. RESTAURANT/LOCATION: Bright yellow signage made it easy to locate. It has a ton of parking all around (covered and uncovered). My only disappointment was that it was not a restaurant. This location is a pick up type place which was not what I was expecting. The day I went was pretty windy so it didnt make the best eating environment. There are communal tables and chairs for totem lake village but its all first come first serve.
Not as good as the actual Seattle location. The chicken is crispy but the sandwich is not that great. The fries were a bit soggy straight from the kitchen so it mustve been sitting around for a while not being warmed up.
Decent food, but the slowest service and their time estimates are way off. We were told 20 minutes, it s been over 35 min and still no sign of food.
I had the dirty bird and that was one badass chicken sandwich
I was unable to get food here as they claimed a 35 minute wait for food and I was running for a movie. I thought this was supposed to be fast food.
Meh .pretty overrated kfc, chick fil-a, even Red Robin has better chicken with better breading and moister chicken. Chicken was bland and chewy. Dipping sauce ..even BW s sauces are better. I wish I expected garbage because I would have been pleasantly surprised but I heard good things and it was such a let down. Impersonal morons working behind the counter too.
$40 for 15 wings and tots also cant choose more than one sauce for an order of wings without over paying for individual orders of each. Sauces were unique, but not good. Chicken was crispy but tough skin. Shame, really wanted to like this place, great location. honey and garlic (top right): fine. 5/10 Honey mustard bottom left) 90% horseradish. 2/10 Salt and vinegar (bottom right): vinegar powder 4/10
Love their flavors! We tried the strips, fries, dirty tots, Mac and cheese, and the biscuit with honey. Dirty tots were definitely the highlight! The poached egg added really great richness and enough protein to make it a decent size, non meat entrée. Mac and cheese was delicious, but from a texture standpoint I wish it could be ordered without the kimchi. Biscuit was the low point, kinda dry, kinda heavy. Well definitely be back for more of those dirty tots!
Friendly staff, and the food was out quite fast
The wings here are not very good. There is too much breading, and the breading is very hard. Which in term make the chicken skin not being fried to a good texture. The sauce that go with the wings is too sugary and not coated evenly or close to evenly. The pricing is ok but not up to the taste. If you are in this area and wanted wings skip this place. The staffs are nice but food is not up to par. Chimac, wing stop will give you better food for around the same price.
This location seems to have developed an inability to read orders correctly. Twice in a row, I ordered 2 orders of 2 thighs and only received 1 order. Customer service was nice and did the refunds, but this is getting annoying.
I was waiting a order at place and I saw the a guy who works at this place eating peoples food during the bagging process without gloves. He works at computer doing the orders. Date 07/16/2022 He s wearing glasses and slider with socks. Don t go to this place dirty
We ordered (delivery) chicken wings with 2dipping sauces (spiced honey and Bok a bok ranch), dirty tots and sesame soy garlic sandwich. Wings were crispy but abit hard. And the both dipping sauces were not my taste. Sandwich was good but missing some flavours, couldn t taste either sesame or garlic.
If you are thinking of Korean-style chicken, you will be disappointed. Actually, I didnt enjoy it that much, but I think it might be because of the menu selection, so Im thinking of trying it again.
Sandwich was good, but it all seemed way too expensive for what it was. Best value is probably grabbing the chicken strips and whilst waiting the 10 minutes for cooking run to Trader Joes and get a brioche bun. Much better.
First good fried chicken place I ve found in the PNW, after moving here 7 years ago. Also, their breading if gluten free ON TOP of that, which is amazing for us celiacs out there.
We had been there before and they where great. Their allergy list is awesome. We went back and they boomed! First, we asked for no chile flakes and they thought we asked for extra, so we went back and they politely remade them. This time they got the chile flakes right, but the tator tots where croutons! I get that crunch is their thing but they had been amazingly perfect the last time. With hesitation I went back, I was hungry and they aren not inexpensive. I specifically asked for softer ones, but they were EXACTLY the same!!!! I didnt go back again. I would not suggest them and debating if we will ever go back.
Picked up dirty tots, and come home to a pile of overcooked egg whites with no egg yolk. Instead of a proper poached egg.
Love the food. Hate the packaging. Can you choose a more humble packaging plz? I hate the whole world to know where I am ordering from. Probably that big box is the only reason I will never order from them again, unless they change it.
Ordered from this location and my chicken Tenders were white on the outside, no joke white, they were fried so little the batter only turned white, 10 dollars for 3 undercooked Tenders! Ive yet to find a sauce that isnt just meh!
First of all, we ordered chicken strips and fries and we waited 10 min to eat the food because it was extremely hot like insane hot after the ten minutes food was still super hot like the whole time we were eating the food it was so hot. Second and last, my son got sick from the food we had to take him to the hospital because he start telling us his stomach was hurting he had diarrhea. Never again will come to place is horrible, food never needs to be overheated cooking this is the cause the make my son sick.
Good tater tots and Mac & Cheese. We tried soy garlic chicken sandwich and OG wings with hot honey. Both were not great.
Chicken was bussing tonight With that garlic chili sauce It s first time and so good My whole family love it
Great value for the price + the fried chicken is really good! Not as big of a fan of the hearty green salad but the big portion make up for it
This place is amazing. Ive only had chicken sandwiches, not the strips or sides. The sandwiches have been uniformly high quality and always delicious.
Great customer service! So friendly and helpful with choosing menu items!!! Food delicious!!! Especially honey garlic flavor chicken! Kimchi mac and&cheese
Amazing food. I can never choose between their options because every one has been blow-out fantastic. Come here often for work, and sometimes the service can be a little slow (order ahead and its late), but the food more than makes up for that. No indoor eating, but the location is great, except in winter it can be a bit too cold out, even with the heat lamps.
Delicious chicken sandwiches as well as bowls. Don t really understand why they re reviewed under 4.0 stars. Their mint slaw is a mind blowing experience and I highly recommend trying it.
We had the chicken strip with no seasoning because we wanted to try their hot sauce. I was very disappointed the batter was crispy but hard to my liking. And the hot red sauce was horribly flavorless. The chicken strip were a good size and nicely cooked. Not what I expected.
LOVE the chicken here. Its always super crispy and hot (admittedly were right across the street) ever since theyve opened. Weve gone a few times since that day - again just by nature of being across the street - but its never disappointed. Among us weve tried the dirty rice, the dirty tots, the rice bowl, various of the chicken sandwiches and flavors - all of its been amazing. Hot and delicious. Just a warning for all future eaters: your breath WILL stink so watch out for your loved ones or yourself if youre in a mask.
Great tasting chicken and sides. The biscuits are amazing and the spicy honey which comes with it is tasty. Cant wait to go back and try the different styles of chicken.
The Four Alarm Chicken is definitely a strong heat level. Not the hottest thing I have ever eaten, but I enjoyed it.
Worst fried chicken I ve ever had .the chicken in the sandwiches are way too greasy, and the chicken wings tasted so dried and over fried $50 for 10pieces of wings and 2 sandwiches not worthy it at all
Chicken was delicious. Strips were way bigger than I expected- the 3 piece would have been plenty. I do have to agree with the review below mine about the hot sauce, it was bland and flavorless and failed to dethrone Ezells. I also wasnt a big fan of the honey sauce. Ill definitely go back though to try the sandwiches and other sauces. The quality of meat was also decent. Across six large strips I only ran into one piece of nasty, unchewable cartilage/fat. It was really expensive though but Ill need to check out some of the other places in this walkable shopping area to see if theres a trend.
4-alarm wings were so super good! Not as spicy as I thought it could be, but the flavor was super super good!
Over fried chicken, not tasty at all, disappointed with the food quality
We ordered chicken strips and chicken wings both are bad tasting. Similar to KFC, just more expensive. Service is good.
Extremely mediocre - almost bad. Chicken is dry, batter is tasteless, sauce is runny with no depth of flavor. Such a shame that the food is bad even in a fantastic location.
Run, dont walk to bok a bok! Delicious! Super crunchy chicken.
Expensive, but the umami burger was the best chicken sandwich Ive ever had. Cost was about $30 for two sandwiches and one order of fries.
Fantastic chicken, but SLOW. Order placed at 6:45, order wasn t received until 7:40.
The wings had a thick hard crust and it tasted nothing that I ve had before but potato starch. I would never eat there again. I felt bad for my date who paid for a $45 wings and her kids did not even eat it after taking the first bite. We ate just right outside so at least the weather was nice. Zero star for Bok
Delicious, generous and hot GLUTEN FREE fried chicken! We love Bok-a-Bok and have been to almost all their locations. Loving this fresh Eastside addition. Excellent service, quickly prepared, quoted an accurate wait time and facilities surrounding the ordering platform are super nice. Their menu is clearly labeled for dietary restrictions, and their chicken thighs with spiced honey & 4 Chile hot sauce is my go-to order. Welcome to Kirkland, Bok-a-bok! Our family is so grateful you re here!
Almost all food (not sure if its lawful to call this a FOOD) ended up in a trash can. Wings were tasteless, some parts of them were extremely hard, like a rock. Meh...
Ate here twice, once picked up from the store and once delivered to my home, and both times were amazing!! The sauces are super unique and delicious and the chicken is incredibly crunchy. Love that it s gluten free too because GF fried chicken are hard to come around. I ll try the sandwiches next. :)
Fried chicken is very juicy but lacking in flavor. Sandwiches were somehow bland, which is unforgivable for a spicy chicken sando.
The wings are so good! For some reason the food taste better here than the one @ Cap Hill. Perhaps, because everything is new, no old, stale fryer oil taste! Chicken were so crunchy! Had a blast eating out al fresco on a beautiful chilly night under the heat lamp
Wings are alright. Too much breading for the small pieces of chicken. Sauces: 4 chile hot sauce 2/5 sesame soy garlic 4/5 spiced honey 3/5
Stars are for the food, but the waiting time is terrible, even if you order it online half an hour in advance (I used Square) and it ll just take another half an hour wait
Everyone loved their food including chicken strips, sandwiches, and sauces. I ordered online and they had the food ready within seconds of the estimated time. I usually show up early because restaurants tend to pad the time and then leave your food sitting there but their timing was perfect.
I had such high hopes for this place the dirty rice was disgusting. No flavor. The chicken tenders dry. The chicken burger was soggy. Not a good soggy either. The spicy sauce was kind of good, but I will unfortunately never eat here again.
So strange. Every item tasted the same. Ordered 2 thigh pieces each with a different signature rub, dirty fries, 10pc og wings with Chile hot sauce and bok bok ranch sauce, yuzu green chile sandwhich. Everything, even the sauces, had no flavor. I had to drink a Diet Coke just to make sure my taste buds were working. Other than flavor, the portions were good. The texture was good.
Great local high quality alternative for KFC or Chick-fil-A.
They obviously have a terrible system for getting food out. If you order during dinner rush it will take at least 30 mins whether you order for just yourself or your whole family. Unless I see this place empty with no line, I wont be trying again.
Chicken comes with a thick hard crust. The chicken inside the crust is tasteless.
Bad customer service. Lost my order 3 times. Had to wait an hour to get it. Didnt even apologize ! Manager was very rude
Simply the best fried chicken you will ever eat. Tons of flavor, delicious crunch, awesome sauces. Its divine. The biscuits are HUGE, flaky, and so delicious. I used to travel down to cap hill to get this chicken and now its right in my backyard. You have to do yourself a favor and get the best chicken on the east side!
I love this place but they will mess up your order every single time. One time I ordered all flats and I got just a normal mixed order of flats and drummies. This last time, instead of getting one of the sides I ordered, I got a side container that seemed to have old chicken in it. It doesnt appear to be any side items on the menu that match what I got. Ive ordered four times and three times they got the order wrong. Would be five stars otherwise.
oh my god. the BEST TATER TOTS EVER. i got the dirty tots and wow just wow, it was so delicious. i will definitely be coming back just for those. the tater tots were nice and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. whatever sauce they use on top is SO GOOD. everything about the dish was amazing, so flavorful!
Nice
Our new favorite fried chicken place - nice crispy batter (GF and egg free) - lots of good dipping sauces and rice bowl sides that pair nicely. Good sandwiches too.
Be weary picking up for DoorDash here. I ve had to wait 20 + minutes to pick up an order and they lie about the wait time.
Overpriced chicken. Dipping sauce is tasteless.
This place deserves 5 stars, the rating is only this low because a couple people had poor experiences and there are barely any reviews. Ive been here several times over the last couple months and the food has been consistently good, my orders have never been wrong, and my orders have always been ready for pickup on time. The staff has also always been nice, courteous, and professional. Highly recommended if youre looking for chicken in the Totem Lake area.
I come here frequently with my boyfriend, I love this location. Never had a bad experience. Food is always hot and fresh, customer service is polite.
The food was quite good, especially for the price. Yuzu sandwich is very tasty here, can surely recommend it!
Have had a great experience each time we eat here. My partner is celiac and its one of the best and few safe places to eat. Sauces are all really tasty. The chicken is not like any other, very crispy but not oily. Chicken is great. Ive never gotten their wings. Stick to the tenders. It takes time to make good food. So it is a 25 min wait from when you order and if theyre busy then might be longer but usually isnt. Just walk up and check if your orders done.
